UA's Saiyan Heroes

"So, as third year students, it's time to start thinking seriously on what you want to do with your lives." The Teacher said. "I could pass out some career aptitude tests, but why bother? I know you all want to go to the hero track." He said, tossing the tests into the air causing the students to cheer. "Yes, yes. You've got some very impressive Quirks, but no power usage allowed in school, get a hold of yourselves."

"Hey Teach. Don't lump me in with this bunch of losers. I'm the real deal, but these guys will be lucky to end up as sidekicks to some busted D-Lister." Katsumi Bakugo said, sounding confident in her words.

Katsumi sat in her chair, with her legs up. Her uniform consisted of the female uniform top, while she wore the male uniform pants, and despite how the uniform looked, it was clear to see she was a girl given her slim and curved figure, with her ash blonde hair tied in a short ponytail at the base of her skull.

"You think you're better than us Bakugo?" One of the other students asked.

"Let's go I'll take you all on." Bakugo said.

"Huh, you've got impressive test results, maybe you will get into U.A High." The teacher said.

"She's gonna try for the National School?"

"That school has a 0.2 acceptance rate. It's impossible to get into."

"An' that's exactly why it's the only place worthy of me." Bakugo said, jumping up onto her desk. "I aced all of the mock tests. I'm the only one at this school who stands a chance at getting in." She declared. "I'll end up more popular than All Might himself, and be the richest heroine of all time. People all across the world will know who I am, and it all starts with U.A High."

"Oh yeah, Midoriya, don't you and the Yagi twins wanna go to U.A as well?" The teacher asked.

"That's right. Athena and I have been training for six years together to get into U.A, and we're pretty confident we'll ace the practical portion of the entrance exams." A young man said, sitting at the desk beside Izumi Midoriya's.

Unlike Bakugo, Izumi wore the full female school uniform, with the skirt and everything. But currently, she was terrified of the fact her former childhood friend, knew about her intentions of admittance to U.A, despite being Quirkless. But the fact that she was trying for the National School, apparently gave cause for all the other students to start laughing and making fun of her for dreaming so big when Quirkless.

Kaen on the other hands, wasn't even phased as Bakugo used her Quirk on Izumi's desk, or tried to as Kaen had blocked the blow with his arm, taking the brunt of the damage.

"That's enough." A young woman said, in a respect demanding tone of voice, wearing the female school uniform, like Izumi but had the handkerchief of the uniform tied around her right arm. "Stop laughing at Izumi, or you're not gonna like what happens next." That got the rest of the class to shut up.

They knew, that it was never a good idea, to anger the Yagi twins, and no one could pay them enough to risk their lives and mock them.

"Listen up Deku." Bakugo said, searing with anger as she looked at Izumi with smoke rising from her hands. "You're even worse than the rest of these damn rejects you Quirkless piece of trash. You really think U.A would let someone like you in, when they could have someone like me? You would die in the exams, are you trying to compete with me or something?"

"How about you back off Katsumi." Athena said, her long black hair tied in a ponytail, with part of it dyed red, to make her standout more from the similarities of her brother. "You don't have any right to tell her that she can't chase after her dreams. Or do we need to go back to how we settled things when we were kids?"

"Bring it on." Katsumi glared. "I kicked your ass when we were kids, and I'll do it again."

"Oh please, if I remember correctly, you were always the one lying on the ground unconscious. I think all the head trauma made you delirious you Pomeranian." Athena exclaimed, as sparks of lightning were igniting in their glares.

"Alright that's enough break it up." The teacher called out. "Ms. Yagi, if I remember correctly from the papers you handed in, you and Midoriya are both applying for the Support Course, correct?"

"Technically that's true, but Izumi's actually gonna try for the hero course, and try for the Support Course if the hero course, doesn't work out."

"Which it will." Kaen said.

"I'm just applying for the Support Course, nothing else." Athena said.

"I have to say, with the test scores I've seen of the mock exams, I'd say you four have the highest chances out of everyone else here in this school for getting into U.A. I do hate to say it Midoriya, since it's a teacher's job to support their student's dreams, but I do believe you won't be able to get into U.A's Hero Course, without a Quirk, I'm sorry that's just the reality of it. With your IQ however, I'm sure you'll make for an excellent support item engineer and technician." The teacher said. "Now everyone back to your seats, so we can get started on today's lesson."

~Marketplace Noon~

"HEY SOMEONE STOP THAT VILLAIN."

Through the crowded streets of the Musutafu Market, a green sludge villain was running off with a large amount of money in his body.

"Yell all you want suckers, this cash is mine." The villain called out, as he was making his way through the crowd.

"Dude where are all the heroes?" One man said at their location across the street.

"Weird normally someone would swoop in right away."

"Maybe they're still busy from that scene this morning." The man questioned as a young looking well built blonde man, came walking out of a convenience store, spotting the crime in progress before beefing up into his more muscular form.

"Remember when we didn't have to worry about Rambo's with Quirks all the time?"

"Seriously there's no stopping 'em."

"Yes, there is. Do you know why?" All Might exclaimed surprising the two talkers as he stepped up, and walked past them. "Because I am here."

~Aldera Junior High 3PM~

"Oh wow, that fight from this morning is all over the news." Midoriya smiled, looking through her phone about the villain attack that she came across on her way to school with Athena and Kaen, before pocketing the device.

When she packed all her stuff away in her bag, Midoriya went out the door of her classroom, hoping to surprise Athena and Kaen at the school gates before they got there. Unfortunately, fate it seems, had other plans for her.

"Hey there cutie, what's the rush?" A young man in the male uniform said, stepping in her way.

"I'm needing to meet with my friends. I'm sorry, but I don't have time for this." Izumi said, trying to move around the boy, but he blocked her path with spreading out his arm, and putting his hand on the wall. Before anything else could happen, the young man moved in a way that forced Izumi into the wall, and pinned her there, with both his hands on either side of her.

"You're Izumi Midoriya right? Of course you are, you're well known around Aldera Junior High, for your brains, and beauty." He smiled, looking Midoriya up and down. Izumi was always embarrassed by it, but she did have a bit of a matured figure for a girl in middle school. Guys like this were just one of the curses of being an early developer. "Listen, everyone knows you're Quirkless, and that you're gonna get yourself killed in the entrance exams if you try to go for U.A High. So I wanna make a deal with you. You're IQ is crazy big, like scary big. But that's what'll make you the perfect Support Item Technician. So I propose, we form a, team of sorts. When I become a rich and successful hero, you make me and only me, all the support items I need, and in return, I will make sure you live a comfortable and cushioned life, while taking care of each other's… specific needs. But why wait four years, when we could start on handling those needs of ours, now? So what do you say?" The boy inquired in a seductive, and suggestive voice, trying to sound slick.

"I'll be sure to send you flowers when you're in the hospital." Izumi said.

"What?" The boy questioned, before the back of his jacket was grabbed, and he was forced to turn around, starring into the face of Kaen, who didn't look too happy. "Oh."

Before the lecherous boy could say anything else, Kaen twisted his body around, in a motion that allowed him to build up momentum, before he threw the boy down the hall, right before Athena kicked him back, with her foreleg hitting the flying boy right in the groin, with enough force to send the boy flying back to Kaen who was leaning against the wall across from Izumi.

Without even needing to look up, Kaen held out his hand, and caught the boy by his jacket, foam coming out of his mouth as his eyes were nothing but white circles, from falling unconscious due to pain and shock.

"No need to send the flowers Izumi." Kaen said. "I think he's learned his lesson."

"Aren't you two gonna get in trouble with using your powers like that?" Izumi asked as Kaen dropped the boy to the ground, leaning him against the wall.

"Not really. I mean, we weren't even using our Quirks when we pulled this guy off you." Athena said, bag over her shoulder with a smile. "What you saw was just natural strength."

"Now, for the coup de grâce." Kaen smiled, pulling a can of bubbly apple juice from his bag, and opening it, taking a big swig before pouring some on the boy's crotch area. "Hehe, oh the school's gonna be lit tomorrow with talk of how this guy 'wet' himself." He chuckled.

"C'mon Kaen, stop pulling pranks like that, and let's get going before someone sees us." Athena said.

Leaving the school, Kaen and Athena traveled with Izumi out the gates of the school, before Athena went in an opposite direction.

"Mom's not gonna be able to come home and cook dinner tonight, she'll be working late again at the hospital, so I'm gonna be cooking. Be sure to make it home before dark Kaen." Athena said, before heading off.

"I will." Kaen said, walking down the street with Izumi.

"So… how's the arm doing?" Midoriya questioned.

"It's fine. Stings a little, but nothing I'm not used to." Kaen smiled.

"So how did you know I was in trouble back there?" Izumi asked.

"Because I overheard that punk talking with some of his buddies at lunch, about how he was gonna try and make you, his woman. So Athena and I just stayed back, out of sight, until we could make our move." Kaen said. "You're my best friend Izumi. Nothing's ever gonna change that about you and me."

"Wow that's really thoughtful of you." Izumi smiled with a blush. "An' thank you."

"For what?"

"For standing up against Kacchan in class this morning. It's nice to know, there's someone who believes in me." Izumi said. "But still, I'm a Quirkless girl, applying for the Hero Course of Japan's Highest Ranking Hero School. I really am pathetic for chasing a hopeless dream huh?"

"Nope. I don't think you're pathetic at all Izumi." Kaen said. "I mean, being Quirkless and still applying for U.A, shows how much potential you have."

"I've only got a chance for making it into the Support Course, it's nothing special." Midoriya said.

"Are you kidding me? Heroes are in danger every day, and they rely on their gear to help them out of their predicaments. If you ask me, their support teams and the people who make their gear, are just as important." Kaen stated as they passed under a bridge.

After passing over a manhole, Kaen froze when he sensed the negative energy of someone, or something, creeping up from behind them.

"Izumi." Kaen said, his tone of voice serious as he wrapped his tail around Izumi's waist.

"What are you doing Kaen?" Izumi asked blushing.

"RUN." Kaen shouted, throwing Izumi away with his tail, allowing the sludge villain to take him, and only him, hostage.

"Say, you've got a lot of power in you kid. You'll make a fine meat suit." The sludge villain said, enveloping Kaen in his slime.

Kaen opened his eyes and saw Izumi frozen in fear where she had landed, her face etched with the expression of a horrified bystander witnessing a gruesome scene.

'Damn it Midoriya, run. If he takes control of my body he'll kill you with my power.' Kaen thought before there was a large presence that came from the same manhole as the lid to it flew through the air, before landing on the ground, as a giant of a man stepped out.

"Have no fear, you are safe now! Because I am here!" All Might stated, his eyes widening when he saw who the sludge villain had in his grasp.

"All Might, please help my friend." Izumi cried out.

"You shut up kid." The sludge villain shouted, slamming Izumi with a slime whip, knocking her into the wall, unconscious.

'Midoriya… MIDORIYA.' Kaen screamed, his power levels rising until the slime villain burst from the pressure of energy, splattering against the walls, as he could no longer contain it.

The energy around Kaen dissipated as he went to Midoriya's side, and checked for any major injuries.

"She's fine. She's gonna be okay." Kaen sighed, catching a 2L soda bottle with his tail. "What's this for?" He asked, taking the bottle in his hand.

"Either pour it out or drink it, I'll need both of them empty for containing the villain." All Might said opening the other bottle.

"Right." Kaen said.

"Are you sure Young Midoriya is fine? If your friend has a concussion, I can take her to the hospital on the way to the station." All Might said, drinking from the bottle.

"Thanks dad, but that won't be necessary." Kaen said, before realizing something. "Hold on, I know you might get this a lot, but could you sign her journal?" He asked opening Midoriya's bag and pulling out Izumi's journal. "She's a big fan of yours, and it would mean the world to her if you did."

"Sure thing." All Might chuckled taking the journal, and signing two pages of it.

"Izumi's still out cold. So what brings you back in town?" Kaen asked, doing first aid to Midoriya.

"Well, I'm starting out as a teacher at U.A in about a year, and they've invited me to come early to get accustomed to how things are done at U.A as a teacher instead of a student." Toshinori smiled, handing back the autographed journal. "Also, I'm needing to talk to you about something.

"What about?" Kaen questioned.

"Do you know how my power works kiddo?" Toshinori asked.

"Yeah, it gives you incredible strength and speed that far surpasses human limits." Kaen exclaimed. "But given that I have a Quirk that does something similar, it seems to be a lot easier to manage and for the cover story. To make it more believable, Athena gave mom her own copy of Xerox."

"There's a bit more to my Quirk than that." Toshinori said.

"What do you mean?" Kaen questioned.

Before Toshinori could say anything else, Midoriya began to wake up, and the blonde shut his mouth, knowing he needed to keep quiet so no one could hear the truth about his Quirk.

"Thought we lost you there Young Lady." All Might said, as Kaen went to gather up the rest of the sludge villain, after downing the soda in the bottle.

"All Might, I've got the villain secured." Kaen said, handing him the two bottles filled with the sludge monster inside.

"Thank you young man." All Might smiled, sticking the bottles in his pockets, which were barely big enough to contain them.

"All Might?" Izumi questioned looking at him in shock, as she jumped to her feet, before she began searching for her journal. "I need to get an autograph."

"He already signed your journal for you." Kaen smiled, showing her the autograph.

"Thank you All Might. This will be a family heirloom, a treasure passed down for generations to come." Izumi said, bowing repeatedly to All Might, so fast Kaen thought she might actually have a speed based Quirk.

"Good to hear." All Might said with a thumbs up. "Now stand back, I'm about to take off."

"Wait, you're leaving already?" Izumi asked.

"Have to. Pros are constantly fighting time, as well as villains." All Might said, doing some crouched stretches.

'He can't go yet. There are still things I have to ask him.' Izumi thought.

"Now stand back. I'm taking off." All Might said, before he jumped high and leapt through the air.

Kaen chuckled, before he realized something. He looked around, and found Izumi no longer anywhere beside him, and when he looked up, he nearly screamed in panic as he saw Izumi hanging off All Might's leg.

"What is that idiot girl doing?" Kaen questioned, taking off flying after them.

~Rooftop Musutafu Shopping District~

"That wasn't very smart young lady." All Might said, after landing on the roof, with Izumi quivering on the ground and Kaen patting her back to comfort her.

"I think I just saw my life flash before my eyes." Izumi said.

"You're gonna be fine." Kaen said, rubbing her back.

"Young man, can you give her a lift down, after she's recovered?"

"Of course, All Might." Kaen said.

"Wait, don't go I have so many questions to ask you." Izumi said, realizing she was missing her window of opportunity.

"Sorry, I can't stay. Have a good life young lady." All Might said.

"Please just wait a minute." Izumi said.

"No time. I have to go now." All Might declared.

'Oh no, she's not gonna ask him what I think she is.' Kaen thought, knowing that his dad could be brutally honest with the truth.

"Is it possible to become a hero, even if I don't have a Quirk?" Izumi questioned, causing All Might to freeze before he could leave. "I'm a girl who was born without any powers. I get picked on and bullied every day because of it, yet I still want to be a hero who saves people with a smile on my face. I want to be a hero like you, to save people no matter the cost."

Looking up from where she was looking on the ground, Izumi was surprised to see, instead of a mountain of a muscle bound man, she was looking at All Might in his true form, looking more built to be a professional fighter, and recognizing him instantly.

"Mr. Yagi?" Izumi questioned. "Kaen, your dad is All Might?"

"Dad, why'd you have to go and reveal yourself to Izumi like that?" Kaen sighed.

"Because she needs to hear this from someone she knows, and I know you're not gonna tell her. This actually works out perfectly with my answer to her question" Toshinori sighed sitting down and leaning against the railing. "Listen Young Midoriya. Five years ago, I was in a fight that left me badly wounded." Toshinori said, lifting his shirt to show the scars. "Pretty nasty right? The surgeries have left be drained, and both my stomach and respiratory system were all but shot, and it would have remained that way if my wife hadn't used a Quirk she got from my daughter's arsenal that could regenerate damaged limbs and organs, but she was so inexperienced with it, I still had to get sewn up in surgery. There are some villains, you can't win against without a Quirk."

"But… but you're All Might, the Symbol of Peace, the man who fights the villains with a fearless smile on his face, and always wins in the end." Izumi said.

"There's plenty of fear behind that smile Izumi." Kaen sighed. "He just uses that smile to hide it."

"I'm supposed to be the Symbol of Peace. Show no fear, and keep everyone safe. People everywhere are supposed to think I have no fear, so they can feel at ease." Toshinori said.

"Wait, earlier you said, five years ago? Was this in your fight against Toxic Chainsaw?" Izumi questioned.

"Ah, you know your stuff, but no. That punk might have been strong, but none of his attacks were strong enough to bring me down. No, most of the world has never heard about this fight. In fact, this fight happened on the day Kaen's older brother, became a villain." Toshinori exclaimed.

Izumi looked to Kaen who was turned away from her, while leaning on the railing, looking out in the distance. She didn't have to see his face, to know he was looking away in shame.

"Kaen, you told me Celeron died in an accident." Izumi said.

"That was just part of the cover story Izumi." Kaen sighed. "Truth is, Celeron became a villain, and even tricked Athena and I into following him to a villain's lair, so we could be turned into test subjects."

"So to answer your question young lady, no. I don't think you can become a hero without a Quirk." Toshinori said, picking himself up.

Izumi turned back to look at her deflated idol, as her eyes went wide, in disbelief as the one person she'd hoped to tell her, she could become a hero, was crushing her dreams right in front of her.

"Though, if you're really wanting to make a difference, maybe become a police officer or something. They get a lot of crap for not catching the villains, but hey, it's good work, and good pay." Toshinori said.

"Actually dad, she's gonna try for the Support Course at U.A, if she fails the Hero Course Entrance Exams. Her IQ is through the roof." Kaen said.

"Is that so? Well, if that's the case, I can ask my old buddy David Shield, to write you up a letter of recommendation. Getting in through a recommendation from him, would surely give you props in the Support Gear Community. Of course you'd have to provide him with proof you're capable of following through on what's put on that letter." Toshinori exclaimed. "It's not bad to have dreams kid, you just have to make sure they're obtainable."

With that, Toshinori left, leaving Kaen, and Izumi standing on the roof, her hopes and dreams, falling to pieces.

"Hey, come on. I'll buy you some ice cream or a soda." Kaen said, picking Izumi up, bridal style before taking to the air, and gently floating down to the ground. About half way down the side of the building however, a large explosion went off somewhere in the distance, drawing both their attention.

"What was that? A villain attack?" Izumi asked. "We gotta…" She stopped, remembering what Toshinori said to her.

"C'mon, let's go." Kaen sighed, seeing the expression on her face. 'Mom's gonna have to have a talk with dad about his approach.'

Later on, Kaen and Izumi could be seen walking down the street, Izumi eating a mint chocolate chip ice cream that Kaen got for her, while he drank a soda he got for himself.

"Listen Izumi, don't take what my dad said to heart he's just…"

"Kaen."

"What's up?"

"Do you think… did you really mean it, when you said you believed I could be a hero?" Izumi questioned. "Or were you just trying to be nice to me, and not hurt my feelings? Because if that's the case then…"

"What? Of course I meant it. Every word. Don't listen to what my dad says. I know you'll make a great hero." Kaen said. "I get it, your dreams have been crushed. But that doesn't mean you should give up trying. Use that big brain of yours to make some tech that will help you achieve your dreams. Think about it, if you become a Quirkless Hero, people will respect you more, and the other Quirkless, will have someone to look up to, to show that they to, can be heroes. So I'm only going to say this once, and you better damn well listen." Kaen exclaimed, getting Izumi to look at him, seeing nothing but the honest truth in his eyes. "You can, become a hero."

Izumi's eyes lit up and widened as she saw Kaen in a different light, feeling like she was in the presence of an angelic being, before a large explosion echoed close to them, and they looked over to see they were down and across the street from the villain attack.

"Why are we here?" Izumi asked.

"You must have come here, out of habit. I was just following you to make sure you didn't do anything stupid." Kaen said. "C'mon, let's see what all the commotion is about."

Going over to the sight of the villain attack, Kaen and Izumi made their way to the front of the group before stopping when they saw the heroes Death Arms, Kamui Woods, and Back Draft, handling the situation, but they weren't making very much headway with it, and to their shock, the villain was the slime villain Kaen had helped his dad bottle up.

'The bottles must have fallen out of dad's pockets when Izumi grabbed on to him.' Kaen thought.

"Damn it, we can't get a grip on his weird body. Plus the kid's Quirk is causing explosions left and right." Death Arms said.

"This is a shutout. We've gotta rally and knock him out of the park somehow." The baseball themed hero said before the villain noticed them, and attacked, forcing them back. "Incoming."

"It's no good. None of us have the right Quirks to stop a villain like this." Death Arms said.

"We'll do damage control until someone with the right Quirk shows up to handle this." Another hero said.

Kaen and Izumi kept looking on, with the Saiyan noticing a familiar energy signature. He just prayed it wasn't true.

"Why aren't the heroes doing anything?" One of the other civilians asked.

"It looks like they've met their match. Plus the villain captured a kid. Things aren't looking good for her." Another civilian said.

Izumi gasped and looked towards the villain, and spotted the head of hair that belonged to the villain's hostage.

"Wait, I'm confused, isn't that the villain, All Might was chasing earlier today?"

"What? All Might? No way he lost, where is he?"

"Well, can someone call him or something?"

"Seriously, why hasn't he shown up to help the heroes?"

Kaen grit his teeth, and shook his head, not liking how this was all going down. He looked to Izumi, who had her hands over her mouth, and was looking down, her ice cream dropped on the ground.

'I'm the one to blame.' Izumi thought. 'He wasted his energy on me. None of the other heroes have the Quirks needed to stop this Monster. It's my fault, I'm sorry. So sorry. Help will show up and save the day, I'm sure. Someone… a real hero will come soon.'

"Out of my way." Kaen said, pushing through the crowd and throwing his jacket over Izumi's head.

"Hey kid, stop. You can't go near that thing." Death Arms said.

"Well someone's gotta save that hostage, and I don't see any heroes around here, willing to do anything but sit on their asses and letting them die." Kaen declared.

"Kid, I'd watch your tongue. Besides, it's not that easy, none of us have the right Quirks to deal with this sort of thing." Death Arms said.

"So? You think that stops All might when he's in the same situation?" Kaen questioned. "Stay here and sit on your asses all you want. But I'm not gonna let an innocent life vanish, because you're too scared to put your own safety on the line."

Kaen marched towards the hostage situation, glaring at the sludge villain.

"Hey, Sewer Freak." Kaen called out, gaining the villain's attention. "Remember me?"

"Oh, you're that kid I nearly took over earlier." The villain said. "Sorry, but I've found a newer, attractive skin suit to use."

"I'm not gonna let that happen." Kaen glared, as his shoulders began to bulge, before four more arms, made completely out of red energy, tore through his shirt, and his actual hands were slammed together in a prayer formation, as he widened his stance. "You're going down, right here, right now."

"Kid, get back here and deactivate your Quirk right now or, you'll be put under arrest for…" Death Arms was stopped when one of Kaen's extra arms reached into his back pocket, and threw a card out of his wallet, which lodged itself in a branch made by Kamui Woods. "What the hell did he just throw?"

"It's… a Provisional Hero License." Kamui said, looking at the card. "How the hell does he have this? He's just a middle schooler."

Kaen stood across from the sludge villain, and stared him down.

"Let the girl go." Kaen stated.

"Not a chance."

"Fine then."

Kaen went running at the sludge monster, all six of his fists ready to strike, before he jumped into the air, avoiding three sludge tentacles sent his way, before pulling his fists back, and slamming them into the ground right in front of the sludge monster, loosening his grip on the hostage, and making Kaen's eyes widen when he saw it was someone he knew.

"Katsumi?"

"Watch out idiot!" Katsumi cried out as she managed to get her mouth free, before it was covered back up.

That was the distraction the villain needed, before he hit Kaen right in the sternum, knocking him into the flaming wall.

"This is the end for you little boy." The villain laughed.

Meanwhile, in the crowd of the onlookers, Izumi couldn't help but stare in horror at what she was witnessing. Kaen was knocked down and the hostage within the sludge villain began to struggle for air, and Izumi began to recognize who it was, after hearing the name Kaen spoke. The final straw to break the camel's back, was when Katsumi opened her eyes, revealing the terror she felt in that situation.

Almost instantly, her eyes widened and she went running through the crowd and past the heroes towards the villain, her body moving on its own, and she ran past Kaen as he was picking himself up.

"IZUMI." Kaen shouted, after seeing her run past him.

"No stop that kid. He'll kill her." Death Arms called out.

Izumi went running for Katsumi, hoping to at least be able to help her out of that situation.

'What do I do, what do I do? Why am I running? Why can't I stop? My legs, they're moving on their own. What can I do? What would a hero do right now?' Izumi thought. 'Page 25 right.'

Izumi removed her bag from her back, and spun around, before throwing it at the villain, blinding him before her All Might pencil holder actually stabbed him in the eye, blinding him momentarily, and causing his grip on Katsumi to loosen enough for her to breathe.

"Damn it Deku what are you doing here?" Katsumi questioned.

"Kacchan." Izumi said, with a terrified smile on her face, and tears in her eyes. "I couldn't just stand by and watch you die."

"Well-spoken Izumi."

Izumi and Katsumi were shocked to hear Kaen's voice as he grabbed them both, and pulled Katsumi free of the sludge villain's grip, before holding them in his actual arms, with his four extras absorbing the flames around them, and began growing bigger, before holding them up, and taking the brunt of an oncoming strike from the sludge villain.

"I thought I'd killed you." He said.

"Did you already forget? You and I have some unfinished business." Kaen growled, before taking another strike, from the sludge villain hitting his extra arms.

"I'm gonna turn you into mincemeat and take one of those girls as a meat suit." The sludge villain cackled, before his tentacles were grabbed by Kaen.

"I don't think so pal." Kaen stated.

"What the? How are you able to grab me like this?"

"Every living thing has Ki, life energy, and if you know the right tricks, you can manipulate Ki any way you want. These arms of mine, they're made of pure Ki, so you're in a bit of trouble when you're up against a Ki master like me." Kaen smirked. "An' with manipulation of Ki, I can hold you still long enough for the finishing move."

"What?"

"Detroit: SMASH." All Might called out, coming up from behind Kaen and slamming his fist into the villain, sending him splattering everywhere, with a large gust of wind that darkened the skies and brought the rain.

"Hey, the fights over, put me down you big lug." Katsumi cried out, struggling in his arm. "An' when you carry a woman like me, you don't carry me like a piece of luggage."

"Right, whatever." Kaen said, putting them down. "Just a tip, you're never gonna get yourself a guy with that kind of attitude."

"Oh, shut the hell up." Katsumi stated.

"Looks like I'll be hearing it from mom tonight." Kaen sighed, looking over his shirt.

Later on, Kaen and Izumi were both sitting in an ambulance, with Kaen's chest being wrapped up in bandages and Izumi was sitting beside him getting chewed out by the heroes. They both were getting chewed out actually.

"You morons. Do you have a death wish or something?" Kamui questioned. "I don't care if one of you has a Provisional License. It was still too dangerous without assessing the situation." He scolded, holding Kaen's license card back to him.

"There was absolutely no reason for you to put yourselves in danger like that." Death Arms said.

"Well you weren't exactly doing anything so… pot meet kettle." Kaen said, buttoning up his shirt.

"What did you just say brat?" Death Arms questioned.

"You heard me." Kaen said, grabbing his bag and standing up. "You were useless, you did absolutely nothing, and let me, and a little girl do your job for you."

"There was nothing that could be done."

"Bullshit." Kaen stated. "You know what the true mark of a hero is? It's their courage, not their power. It's when they do their job, and fight, even if the odds are against them, like they were against you today. There were three of you facing off against the villain, and you did squat. The three of you could have teamed up and saved Katsumi, but you didn't. Instead you just stood there and watched, expecting the hero with the right kind of power, to come in and handle that guy. When you should have been fighting, not hiding."

"I was not hiding." Death Arms said, grabbing Kaen by the front of his shirt.

"Oh yeah? Then how come I can see the pain of the truth resonating in your eyes?" Kaen questioned.

"Just shut up kid. I'm the pro here, I don't need you telling me how to do my job."

"Then how come you're acting like the villain, and roughing me up, when I'm still injured?" Kaen questioned.

"Death Arms." The pro hero turned around to see All Might coming towards them. "That young man is right. The true mark of a hero isn't their pride or power, but it's their inner strength, the courage to do what needs to be done, no matter the odds. You should have continued to fight the villain, instead of just standing idly by just because your Quirk wasn't suited for the job."

"But All Might."

"No buts. You call yourself a hero, then live up to the name." All Might said. "You two are free to go. An' be sure to take proper care of your injuries young man."

"Yes sir." Kaen said, as Izumi grabbed her bag, and followed Kaen out of there, before turning back around to the blonde hero.

"Thank you." Izumi said, bowing to him, before following Kaen again.

~Later~

"Oh, I was really wanting to apologize to All Might. But he became swarmed by interviewers again, it would have been rude of me to interrupt, and all I got to say, was an apology." Izumi said.

"It would have been a good reprieve from them if you had." Kaen smiled. "Truth be told, All Might kinda hates when the press surrounds him like that."

"Deku, Monkey."

Kaen and Izumi turned around to see Katsumi running towards them, doing her best to keep her skirt from flying up as she did.

"Kacchan?" Izumi asked.

"Listen, I would never ask for a weakling like you to help me." Katsumi said, obviously talking to Izumi. "Don't think you can look down on me. Huh, got that? You're just a Quirkless failure who won't even cut it as a rent-a-cop. You didn't help me, you did nothing, and don't forget it. I don't owe you anything."

"You could at least act grateful to us for risking our lives to save yours you know." Kaen said, grabbing his shoulder strap and readjusting it.

"An' you…" Katsumi said marching up to him, and pulling his collar down, to where he was face to face with her. To his surprise, she placed a kiss on his cheek. "Thanks for saving my life, and being a hero. But don't think the kiss means anything. I'm just grateful to you for saving my life, that's all."

Kaen stood up straight as Katsumi left, leaving Izumi and Kaen baffled about what just happened.

"What was that?" Kaen questioned.

"She's right though." Izumi said. "It's not like I did anything to help today."

"That'd be where you'd wrong Izumi." Kaen smiled. "What you did, reminded my dad what it truly means to be a hero, and it pushed him to go past his limitations. You basically reminded the Symbol of Peace, what it means to be a true hero."

"I am here. Intercepting you on your way home Young Midoriya, and Kaen." All Might said, running out from around the corner.

"All Might? Where'd you come from, how'd you get rid of all those reporters?" Izumi asked.

"Hahahahahahaha. I stand for justice, not soundbites. Because I, I am All Mi…"

"Enough with theatrics Dad." Kaen said, karate chopping All Might on the head, and making him deflate.

"Alright Kaen, you don't gotta go chopping my head like that. I'm not as young as I once was, you know." Toshinori said. "Young lady, I came here to thank you, and also to discuss your question from earlier."

"Huh?" Izumi was confused.

"You told me you didn't have a power, so when I saw this timid Quirkless girl try to save a life, it inspired me to act to. I think Kaen can explain the rest from here."

Izumi was surprised at Toshinori's words and looked to Kaen as he smiled, and began to step forward.

"There are stories about every hero, about how they became great. Most have one thing in common. Their bodies moved, before they even had a chance to think. Almost on their own." Kaen smiled, taking his place next to Toshinori, as she began to cry, and clutch her shirt, feeling her heart pounding.

"Young lady." Toshinori began. "You to, can become a hero."

"Hey, take it easy, take it easy." Kaen said, crouching down in front of Izumi as she fell to her knees crying, clutching her chest, right over her heart.

"I deem you worthy of my power. My Quirk is yours to inherit."

"Huh?" He broke Kaen and Izumi.
