UA's Saiyan Heroes
~A/N~
Just a heads up, I recommend you read the first two chapters, if you haven't read their updates.
The morning sun was rising early, as the UV rays glistened off the trash that littered the sandy shore of the beach, as in a shadowy part of the beach, Izumi Midoriya, was pulling a double door fridge, with ropes wrapped around her body, and All Might sitting atop said fridge. But there was a problem, she was having trouble with.
She couldn't move the damn thing even an inch.
"Hey-hey-hey. It's pretty comfy atop this fridge, how you doing down there?" All Might questioned, before Midoriya slipped on the sand, and fell flat on his face. "People move these every day you know, and most of them don't even have any Super Strength."
"Well yeah but, there's an extra six hundred pounds with you sitting on top of it." Midoriya said, pushing himself up.
"Nah, I've lost weight, so I'm down to five sixty these days, well in this form anyways." All Might said.
"Don't give up Izumi. This is your chance to make your dream come true through more than just your tech and gadgets. Don't you want that?" Kaen questioned, squatting down and handing her a water bottle.
Izumi looked up at Kaen and couldn't help but blush when she saw he was wearing only a pair of shorts and sneakers as he was doing his own training alongside Izumi. But she kept getting distracted by his sculpted body with his tail wrapped around his waist.
"Y-yeah I do want that, but there's just something… keeping me from focusing." Izumi said, sitting up and turning around, putting a hand over her nose to hide the nosebleed she was getting.
"Huh?" Kaen questioned, before a shirt was thrown on top of him.
"Put a shirt on Kaen." Athena sighed, coming up to them, dressed in mini shorts and a sports bra with wrist bands. "You're the poor girl's distraction."
"Sorry, you know I like doing my workouts without a shirt." Kaen said putting the tank top on.
"I'm still surprised though. I had no clue dad had such a personal connection to Ben's father." Athena said. "One-for-All. A power accumulating Quirk that can be passed down from user to user, strengthening it with each wielder. It's so similar to Xerox, it's amazing."
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Kaen said, turning to look at All Might. "I never knew your power was that complex."
"Originally I was gonna pass it down to you Kaen." All Might said. "But when I saw Midoriya jump in to save her friend, I had second thoughts. I mean no offense mind you, I'm just being logical about my decision."
"None taken. I've got plenty of power, I don't need anymore." Kaen smiled. "To be honest, I think you made the right choice choosing Izumi to be your successor."
"Thanks Kaen. That's sweet of you to say." Izumi smiled before she shivered. "But, remind me again, why we're here at the beach turned dump, with me dragging the trash across the sand?"
"It's part of your training." All Might said hopping down from the fridge. "Your body isn't ready to handle the full strength of One-for-All, so we're getting you in shape for it."
"He's right. With the way you are now, if you were to take One-for-All, then your arms and legs would shoot off your body like baking soda rockets in a science fair." Athena said snapping a few photos of Izumi with her phone.
"So… this whole trash thing is like some sort of intense hard core gym workout, and you two are my trainers." Izumi said, looking to both All Might and Kaen with a worried expression.
"I'm just here to do my own training." Athena said. "But there's another reason to it."
"Kaen did a little research yesterday." All Might exclaimed, walking back to the fridge. "Turns out, this part of the beach used to be beautiful, but it's been a complete mess for the last few years." He exclaimed as he tapped the fridge with the back of his hand, causing a dent to form.
"That's right." Izumi said, looking around. "Because of the ocean currents, anything that's dropped in the water ends up here. People take advantage of that when they're illegally dumping their trash. Now the locals just avoid this place."
"Heroes these days are all about showing off, and capturing flashy villains." All Might said, going behind the fridge and placing one hand on top of it. "Things were different before Quirks. Service is what mattered. Back then, heroes were those who'd help the community." All Might exclaimed, crushing the fridge with one hand. "Even if it was kinda boring." All Might finished, slamming the fridge flat into the ground, the wind pressure causing the trash and garbage behind him to be sent flying, revealing the sunrise creeping up over the horizon.
"You'll restore the coastline, for this entire section of the beach." Kaen said. "That is the first step on your path Izumi. Towards being a hero."
Izumi was taken aback as she realized she had to clear out all the trash on the beach. "Um… All this?" Izumi questioned. "But… there's so much. That's impossible."
"Izumi, you're wanting to get into U.A, right?" Athena questioned.
"Well yeah, of course you know I do. It's where All Might went. So it's gotta be the best around." Midoriya said. "It's a long shot, but I'm gonna reach for the moon, and get into U.A."
"You got a lot of spirit Fangirl." All Might smiled. "However, I know you'll be able to get in on your smarts. Might not be the hero course, but the support course is still good. U.A's the hardest Hero Course to get into, but if you're wanting my Quirk before the exams…"
"Then I have to prepare my body for your Quirk real fast. U.A's Exam is in ten months." Midoriya said.
"Not to worry, I've got you covered." All Might smiled, holding up a stack of papers. "It's the Aim to Pass American Dream Plan. Follow this workout plan to the letter, and the beach should be cleaned up with time to spare before the exams. I also detailed every other aspect of your life while I was at it."
"Even my sleep is scheduled." Izumi said, looking over the regimen plans.
"If I'm being honest, this is gonna be super hard." Athena said. "I mean, you can't really survive a training regimen like this without an iron will."
"Still, I have to try." Midoriya said. "I have to work twice as hard as anyone else, to get into U.A, so I'm gonna succeed no matter what."
"That's the spirit. Now then, let's begin your training." All Might said, with a boisterous laugh.
"Wait dad, I think now would be a good time to tell Izumi about what you and mom decided on last night for." Kaen said.
~1Week Later: Musutafu Private Middle School~
"Alright, settle down everyone." A school teacher said, interrupting his class room's chatter. "I know there's still several minutes before class begins, but I thought I'd take this time to introduce to you a new transfer student. Are there any questions before I bring them in?"
"What are they like, and why are they being transferred to our school?"
"You'll find out what they're like soon enough. As for why their being transferred, it was his mothers choice because of a recent Villain attack they were dragged into." The teacher smiled before turning to the door. "Alright, you can come on in."
The door to the classroom opened once more, and in stepped Kaen, wearing the men's uniform, and his bag hanging over his shoulder.
"Hi everyone, my name's Kaen Yagi. I hope we can all get along." Kaen smiled with a bow.
"Mr. Yagi, if you'll take a seat. There's a spot in the back by Ms. Ashido available." The teacher said.
Kaen went to the back of the classroom, taking his seat next to a pink haired, and skinned girl in the female uniform, her eyes amber gold with black sclera. She seemed to look at Kaen with interest, and a curious gaze in her eye.
"Good morning." Kaen said, hanging his bag on the side.
"A very good morning to you." She smiled.
"Alright everyone, if you could turn your books to page five, we'll begin the lesson." The teacher announced as the bell rang.
~Lunch~
"Hey Kaen." Athena said, coming to his side and sitting next to him. "So how's class going so far?"
"Can't really complain." Kaen said, eating his sandwich. "Still kinda annoyed mom moved us to a different school after what happened last week with Katsumi. We're not even in the same class anymore."
"At least you're in Class 4-A." Athena said. "I'm in class 4-D."
"Still it's not as though we can really argue with what mom says. Even dad doesn't really have any control over things at home." Kaen said.
"Excuse me."
Kaen and Athena looked to see who was talking, and saw his pink classmate standing with a bento box.
"Hi, Ashido right?" Kaen questioned.
"Call me Mina. Mind if I sit here?" She smiled.
"Be my guest."
"Thanks a bunch." She said taking a seat. "I'm not interrupting anything am I?"
"Not really. We were just talking about home stuff." Athena said. "I'm Kaen's sister, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. So you were both transferred here?" Mina inquired digging into her bento. "Why is that, if you don't mind me asking."
"Oh, well for one it's closer to home then Aldera, and two, our mom kind got a little over protective after an incident with a villain almost got my brother killed." Athena explained.
"A, I was not almost killed, and B, All Might intervened before anymore damage could be done, so I'm fine." Kaen said.
"Oh was it that incident that was on the news last week?" Mina asked.
"Yep. Doofus over here was one of the two who ran into the fray and got chewed out by the heroes." Athena said, smacking Kaen upside the head.
"Knock it off Athena." Kaen stated, before his ears twitched as he heard something. "Excuse me, I have to go take care of something."
"Where'd he going?" Mina asked.
"Knowing my brother, he's off to go be a hero, as usual." Athena sighed, with a smile.
Following the racing heart beat he heard, Kaen stopped when he saw a couple of boys cornering a Tanuki Quirked student, wearing glasses, and the Tanuki looked frightened of the two boys approaching him.
"Hey there, we heard about you. You're the guy who can change leaves into money right?" One of the boys questioned. "Nice work man."
"So make these leaves into some bills quick dude, we're kinda short on cash." The other boy said.
"So that's it. They're wanting to take advantage of his Quirk's main abilities." Kaen sighed, before rounding the corner.
"I can't do paper bills, anyway it wears off really quickly." The Tanuki boy said.
"Then we'll just have to spend them really quickly, won't we?" The first boy questioned.
"I can't, guys seriously."
"Alright I think that's enough." Kaen said, grabbing the Tanuki by the back of his shirt, and putting the scared student behind him. "Why don't you go find a teacher before this gets out of hand?"
"Right." The Tanuki said, running off.
"Hey man, what gives?" The first boy questioned. "We were just about to get our hands on some bills and…"
"An' break the law, by forcing him to use his Quirk." Kaen stated. "I don't know what kind of fantasy land you two think you're living in, but you have no idea, how the real world works, do you?"
"Of course we do. Besides, no one was gonna get hurt from us spending that fake money." The second boy said.
"Except for the store clerk who would have lost their job, if you had actually spent that money. You would have cost someone their livelihood if that had happened. An' it would have made you no better then villains." Kaen stated.
"Screw you man, we can do whatever the hell we want." The first boy said, throwing a briefcase sized rock into Kaen's face.
Kaen didn't flinch of move a muscle as the rock slid down from his face, revealing the worst the rock did, was give him a black eye, and broke his nose, as blood dripped down his face, and landed on his shirt.
"Well." He began, resetting his nose. "At least now I won't feel bad for what I'm about to do." Kaen said, spitting out a tooth that had been knocked out, before cracking his neck and knuckles.
"Oh my God, Yagi." Mina said, running up from behind him.
"Ashido, what are you doing here?" Kaen questioned, surprised as she stepped in front of him, stopping the Saiyan from advancing to beat up the two who'd chosen to assault him.
"Athena and I followed you when she told me why you left." Mina explained. "Your nose is bleeding, and it looks really bad. Come here, kneel down and let me help you."
"Ashido I'm fine. It's nothing I can't handle." Kaen said.
"No arguing mister. Kneel down, shut your trap, and sit still so I can help you." Mina said rather sternly.
"Yes, Ma'am." Kaen said, suddenly on his knees in front of Ashido.
"She brought him to his knees with her words alone." Both boys said in unison.
"An' another thing." Mina said, as she used her uniform scarf to try and stop the bleeding. "I told you to call me Mina. Was that not clear?"
"No Ashido, you were clear, I'd just rather befriend you better before using your first name." Kaen stated, sounding kinda stuffed up.
"If that's what you're comfortable with then fine. Karachi should be back with a teacher soon." Mina said before her head turned to the two who had attacked Kaen. "You two." She said tensely. "Don't you go anywhere."
"Yes Ma'am." They said getting on their knees.
"Oh Yagi, I have to take you to see the nurse, but I can't leave these two unattended, they might make a run for it." Mina said.
"I can watch them Mina." Athena said, walking up to the boys. "Go ahead and take my big bro to the nurse's office. These two ain't going anywhere." She stated menacingly.
"Good. C'mon Yagi, let's get you to the nurse's office." Mina said, leading Kaen away.
"Now then boys." Athena said as soon as Kaen and Mina were no longer in the area as she cracked her knuckles. "Who wants their knuckle sandwiches first, as your reward for hurting my brother."
~After School~
"Damn, I can't believe mom's forcing me to skip training, while I heal up. I'm not even that banged up. At least I didn't get detention because of what happened. Oh well, let's see what mom wanted me to get while I was out." Kaen said looking at his list given to him by Gine, as he walked along the streets of Musutafu with his broken nose held in place by a bandage. "Hmm… Yeah I can get these pretty easily." He said, before stopping as he bumped into someone.
"Oops, sorry about that I was distracted." The person he bumped into apologized, before he recognized that voice.
"Ashido?" Kaen questioned.
"Yagi? What a surprise. How are you feeling after what happened at lunch?" Mina questioned.
"I'm okay. Just doing some shopping for my mom." Kaen said, holding up the list.
"Oh cool. Your mom must be a big time shopper. The stores in this area have some of the best deals for groceries. There are even a few that have amazing deals on clothes. I should show you next time you're in the neighborhood." Mina said.
"Sounds great." Kaen smiled. "So, what brings you to the area?"
"A few of my girl friends invited me to come shopping with them, but I've actually lost track of them." Mina explained, before a loud scream from down the street and around the corner, echoed through the air, alerting them both to danger.
Kaen and Mina were instantly on the move, and when they rounded the corner, they saw a large, 15 foot tall man, draped in a tarp, wearing it as a cloak, with a radio around his neck hanging from a rope.
"Where can I find a hero agency?" He questioned.
Looking down he saw that he was cornering two girls who looked like they were wearing the same uniform as Mina.
"That them?" Kaen questioned.
"Yeah those are my friends, I have to help them." Mina said.
"Stay here, and get ready to run with your friends." Kaen said, before dropping his bag and running towards the scene. "Hey, big guy. Why are you looking for a hero agency?"
"I do, as my Master commands." The man said, turning to Kaen.
"You two." Kaen said, looking to Mina's friends. "Get out of here, and run with Ashido, now."
The two girls took the opening and ran to their friend, past Kaen, as he threw his school shirt away, leaving him in a wife beater and his school pants, and took a fighting stance.
"Something tells me you're not looking for an agency to report something to a hero." Kaen said.
"I shall ensure, there is one less nuisance, to disturb my Master, when he returns." The mountain of a man said.
"Who are you?" Kaen questioned.
"My name, is Gigantomachia, and I serve my master." He said, dropping his tarp.
"Gigantomachia. I've heard of you. Five years ago, you worked for All-for-One." Kaen glared, his body starting to tremble in anger. "Well he's dead. All Might took care of him."
"My Master, has commanded me, to terminate any, and all who stand in his way." Gigantomachia said growing in size, and raising his foot, before bringing it down on Kaen, causing a cloud of dust to form.
When the dust cloud cleared, Kaen could be seen trying to hold up Gigantomachia's foot, and anyone witnessing this spectacle, could see it was a struggle for the young Saiyan. Realizing he didn't have a choice, Kaen sprouted his four other appendages, and used them to grab onto Gigantomachia's foot, and pushing up against the villain, with more strength and effort.
"Obviously you didn't get the memo five years ago. All-for-One, is dead." Kaen said, knocking the giant of a man off balance, before Kaen jumped back, off the ground, onto the wall of a building, and rebounding off to slam his fist into the villain's face, knocking him on his back, before Kaen landed on the ground, and ran off.
Before he could get far, Gigantomachia reached out and grabbed him, squeezing Kaen in his grip, as hard as he could, with Kaen desperately trying to push back against the villain's hand. His strength wasn't anywhere close to his opponents, and he was well aware of that, as he struggled to push against the giants hands.
"I know you. You are the child who betrayed my Master, the moment you were free of his lair." Gigantomachia said.
"Yeah? What gave it away, the fact I have a second Quirk, or the scar on my face?" Kaen questioned, gripping Gigantomachia's hand, with all six of his.
"For your betrayal, I shall crush you, and bring your body back to the Doctor, for his experiments." Gigantomachia said.
The moment Kaen heard that, he realized that there were still followers of All-for-One's that hadn't been rounded up, and this villain was working with them. Gritting his teeth, Kaen pushed as hard as he could against Gigantomachia's hand, before something happened. The four arms made of pure Ki, began to pulse and grow, and Kaen could see Gigantomachia was tiring, and began to diminish in size.
'Is he losing Ki?' Kaen questioned.
Deciding to dwell on it another time, Kaen pushed as hard as he could against the giants hand, and managed to open it, before dropping to the ground. As he rolled back, away from the villain, he spotted Mina and her classmates were still there, all of them having stayed behind to watch the fight.
Groaning in frustration, Kaen made a run for the girls down the street, and grabbed them all in his six arms, before taking to the air, and flying off to a safe distance.
Once he was sure they'd gained enough distance, Kaen descended to the ground, and set them down, with a stern look on his face.
"What the hell were you three thinking staying to watch?" Kaen questioned, putting them down. "You could have gotten hurt, and I'd have intervened for nothing."
"Sorry Yagi." Mina said bowing to him.
"We were terrified when we confronted him, but you stood against that man, fearless, and filled with courage."
"You were so cool. You weren't scared at all, were you?" Her other friend asked.
"Actually, I wasn't fearless." Kaen sighed turning his back to them, and putting his hands on his hips. "Every second I was facing off against that giant, I was afraid I was gonna die."
"It didn't look like it to me." Mina said.
"That's because I had to keep up a brave face." Kaen exclaimed. "Show me someone who isn't afraid of danger, and I'll show you and idiot. Fear keeps us alive and aware. But it's what we decide to do with that fear, that comes next."
"So hard boiled." Mina's friends said.
"Why don't you two go home? I promised Yagi I'd show him around." Mina suggested.
"Aw, no fair Mina. You always hog the hotties at school, let us have a bite for once." One of her friends said.
"That's not what this is about." Mina said, as Kaen's face was blushing. "You two were just cornered by a villain, and that had to be terrifying, and don't even try to play it off that you weren't scared, Kaen and I both saw you scared out of your minds, and about to wet your skirts."
"Mina." They said embarrassed.
"Okay fine, we'll go. But promise you'll tell us all about what the two of you did today."
"It's gonna be pretty boring to be honest." Mina said. "Now get going."
With both her friends gone, Mina turned to Kaen with a smile.
"C'mon, I'll start the tour." Mina said.
~Afterwards~
"I feel so bad that I took up Ashido's afternoon. I hope I can make it up to her somehow." Kaen said, walking to the train station as the sun was gone and the stars were out. "Hopefully mom and dad won't bite my head off if they hear about the scuffle with Gigantomachia."
"Psst, hey kid."
Kaen paused in his steps, as he turned to who had spoken, and saw it was a man who looked like his face had seen better days.
"You interested in making a little money?" The man questioned.
"I know I'm gonna regret this, but why the hell not?" Kaen sighed. "Depends on what you're offering."
"Nothing drug related if that's what you're wondering." The man said, handing him a flier. "Come to the address on the bottom corner, if you're interested. As for Jack."
'An American name.' Kaen thought looking at the flier as Jack vanished into the shadows. "A fight promoter?"
~3 Months into Izumi's Training~
"C'mon Midoriya. Keep at it don't stop now." All Might shouted.
Three months have passed since All Might began Izumi's training while Athena did her own alongside her and Kaen. The young adopted son of All Might's was currently using the flatbed of a truck as a flat bench, while the barbell and weights were composed of a car's axle, with large blocks of granite on each end.
"1996. 1997. 1998. 1999. 2,000." Kaen counted, putting the weight down on the edges of the flatbed, the metal creaking under the weight. "Dad, how's Izumi doing?"
"She's doing pretty well. Pretty well indeed." All Might smiled giving him a thumbs up.
"That's good to hear." Athena said, taking Kaen's place under the makeshift barbell.
"What are you even doing here Athena, I thought you were going for the Support Course?" Kaen said.
"Doesn't mean I can't keep in shape."
"She's got you there boy." All Might smiled.
~5 Months~
"C'mon Midoriya swim harder than that, you can do better I know you can." All Might shouted.
"I brought lunch." Gine called out walking down the steps, wearing a pair of skinny jeans, a sports bra under a tank top. Behind her she pulled a wagon, stacked with a mountain of food.
"666. 667. 668. 669. 670."
Kaen hopped down from the makeshift salmon ladder he made from the scrap metal around the beach as she finished with another set.
"Hey thanks mom." Athena smiled as she dug into the food Gine handed to her, before handing Kaen his.
"So how's Izumi's training going?" Gine questioned.
"She making great progress actually." Kaen said. "But something seems off, and it seems like she's overworking herself."
"It's probably normal. I mean, this regimen was designed by a Saiyan for a Saiyan, not a human." Gine smiled, proud of how concerned Kaen was for his friends.
~6 Months~
"All right, I'm finished for the day." Kaen called as he and Athena packed up their workout gear into their gym bags. "Try not to kill Izumi, okay dad?"
"I'll do my best Kaen." All Might said with a laugh, and a thumbs up.
Giving their own smile, Kaen and Athena made their way to the train station, and as they were waiting for their train, started up a conversation.
"So Izumi's grades have been suffering due to the training. You don't think she's pushing herself farther than we want for the regimen, do you?" Athena asked.
"I don't wanna believe it, but yeah, I think she is." Kaen sighed.
"I was afraid of that." Athena sighed. "I'll see what Mom thinks about this, I'm gonna be meeting up with her in a couple hours or so for lunch."
"Let's get home first before…"
Ding…
Kaen was interrupted when his phone went off, signaling he got a text message.
"Oooh, is that my sister-in-law?" Athena teased, looking over Kaen's shoulder to his phone screen.
"Knock it off Athena." Kaen groaned, nudging her off him. "Mina isn't my girlfriend."
"You just called her by her first name. You two must be serious." Athena smirked.
"We've done that since we first met. She's not big on honorifics."
"Oooh, love at first sight." Athena teased. "By the way, I did some research for ya, in case you had your eye set on more than just Ashido, and good news, I found out polyamorous relationships are in fact legal, and have been since the Quirk Laws merged into society. The limit of such a relationship, is about 10 people. If you're wanting more than 9 women, you'll need to administer a special form for what's popularly known as a Harem Roster."
"ATHENA." Kaen said. "There comes a point when jokes and teasing cross a line, and you've just crossed it."
"I'm serious. Saiyan men are known for being married to more than one woman, mom confirmed when I asked, and I thought you might be prone to that. I was teasing you about the love at first sight thing, but I was serious about the polyamorous thing." Athena said.
"Look, let's just get home, and get cleaned up. Mina's wanting to meet up and hang out." Kaen said.
"Alright. But remember what I said about the polyamorous thing." Athena stated. "An' one more thing."
"Yeah, what's up?" Kaen asked.
"Try not to make me an aunt when you go hang out. Be sure to bring rubbers." Athena teased.
With that final comment, Kaen took to the skies, and flew home, thankfully not getting into trouble when he did.
Later after he cleaned himself up, Kaen went out and met up with Mina, who in her casual wear, was in a shirt with one of the straps loose and down her shoulder, a pair of short shorts, with a pink flannel long sleeved shirt tied around her waist, and sneakers. Kaen had changed out of his workout clothes and into a pair of jeans, with a t-shirt, a jean material button up shirt over it, and his own sneakers.
"Hey Mina, how's it going?" Kaen asked.
"It's going good. Guess what, my uncle managed to get us backstage passes to Skillet's next concert." Mina smiled.
"Isn't that not until mid-April?" Kaen questioned.
"Yeah, but that just means it's gonna be just as exciting to watch, when we get there." Mina said excitedly.
"I guess." Kaen smiled.
"Is something wrong? You seem a bit flustered." Mina said, noticing his cheeks were a bit rosy.
"It's nothing, just my sister teasing me. She did so earlier when you said you wanted to hang out." Kaen stated.
"Well, what did she say?" Mina asked.
"She teased me about you being my girlfriend, when she knows you're not." Kaen said, a bit sheepishly, looking away from her.
In truth, it was a nice thought, but nothing like that could ever happen between them.
"Well… what if I were?" Mina asked.
Kaen seemed to freeze at that, and turned his head back to look at her. He couldn't see any deceit in her eyes, and saw that she was being serious.
"Well, answer the question. How would you feel if I was your girlfriend?" Mina inquired.
"Sorry, that just caught me off guard." Kaen said. 'Which is a rarity.' He thought. "I'd be happy, because it would mean someone likes me for me, and not just for my power, or how I look."
"Good answer." Mina smiled taking his hand. "Then, I'll be your girlfriend."
"Wait, do you even actually feel that way about me?" Kaen asked.
"Of course silly. I was drawn to you, the moment I saw you risk your life for my friends, the day we first met. What you look like, or what your power is, doesn't matter to me. I was drawn to you, because of the courageous heart you have, and the heroic spirit and nature you possess."
"I did grow up around All Might, so I guessed it rubbed off." Kaen said.
"What about you, do you feel that way about me?" Mina asked.
"Well… I do actually. I've sort of liked you for a while now." Kaen chuckled. "I was actually afraid you'd say yes to being, my girlfriend because of how strong I am."
"You should know me better than that by now, you big goof." Mina chuckled.
"Yeah, I guess so." Kaen said.
"Also, if you have your eyes on other girls, I wouldn't mind sharing you, ya know." Mina said, causing Kaen to blush. "Just make sure that I'm top of your list."
'Oh boy, I've got quite the story to tell Mom and Dad when I get home later.' Kaen said.
~7 Months~
"C'mon let's go." Toshinori exclaimed, jogging down the path, with Kaen and Athena running by his side, while Izumi was running behind them, carrying an old television, with Kaen constantly texting back and forth with Mina.
"Ugh, would you put your phone away Romeo? We're in the middle of training." Athena said. "Don't you see her enough at school?"
"If I don't respond to her texts Mina is gonna think something is wrong, and she's gonna be worried, and send me lots of concerned text messages, with random silly questions. An' it's cute, but annoying."
"I wish I'd never teased you into getting into a relationship with her." Athena groaned, when out of the blue, Izumi collapsed on the path.
"Hey, hey look alive kid. You've only got three months until the entrance exams." Toshinori exclaimed. "You gonna let all that hard work go to waste, flush it all down the toilet?"
"Dad… look closely. She's overworked." Athena exclaimed, spotting how Izumi was struggling to just move her arm to crawl forward. "Izumi, the Aim to Pass American Dream Plan was designed with your body specifically in mind. It was fine-tuned to ensure your progress was swift but manageable, which means if you're like this…"
"You haven't been keeping to it. You're overdoing things, that's gonna have the opposite effect of what we want." Toshinori exclaimed, finishing what his son was saying.
"I have to work harder." Izumi said. "Or I won't stand a chance against the other applicants. I don't just want into U.A, I want to excel. I want to be like All Might. I want, to be the greatest hero in the world, so I'll keep on trying, until I got what it takes to do that."
"I understand you want to be strong like my dad, but you can't be anyone's hero when you're useless like this. You need to keep to it to keep your body healthy, you haven't been getting the proper amount of sleep or respite." Kaen stated.
"But I have to try, and push myself past my limits." Izumi said.
"That fighting spirit's what I like about you fangirl. I do get your concerns. That said, now's not the time to go and rush progress. Fear not, I can get you back on track. Just leave it to this old man to adjust your plan." Toshinori said, beefing up into his All Might form.
"You're not an old man, All Might." Izumi said, causing All Might to laugh.
~Morning of the Entrance Exams~
"So, you think Izumi is already at the beach getting started on moving the last of the trash?" Athena asked as she, Kaen, and Toshinori stepped out of his truck.
"I'd say that's…"
Toshinori stopped when they all heard someone screaming at the top of their lungs, like it was a victory cry. They looked up to see it was Izumi, standing atop a pile of garbage, screaming out in victory, wearing her tracksuit pants and a sports bra. Kaen, Athena, and Toshinori both went wide eyed at seeing her standing there, and ran to the entrance to the beach, just as the sun began to rise, and saw that there was not a speck of garbage left on the beach.
"Hey-hey holy crap kid. You even cleaned up outside the area I told you to." Toshinori said. "Seriously, there's not one speck of trash left on this beach."
"Izumi, you exceeded our expectations. You pushed yourself harder than you needed to and got it done with only a little time to spare." Kaen said.
"Holy… stinking… Super Crap." Toshinori said, beefing up into his All Might form.
Izumi began to fall from the pile of garbage, but before she could land on the ground, Kaen came and caught her.
"Excellent work." All might said, as he and Athena came rushing over.
"You overworked yourself again Izumi. But I'm proud of you." Athena smiled.
"I finished everything." She said, sounding exhausted. "I did it. Do you think I'm ready now?"
"Yeah, you did good kid. I gotta say I'm impressed." All Might said. "I knew you had it in you, but this is beyond."
"Here, take a look at this." Athena smiled pulling out her phone, and showing her a photo of herself, to which Izumi looked confused. "It's you silly, ten months ago. Your body was scrawny and lacking muscle."
"Look how far you've come." All Might said, his smile broadening. "Such improvement." He exclaimed referring to Izumi's muscular body. "There's still a long road ahead of you, before you can inherit my full power set, but it's starting to look like you can do it Young Midoriya. You've gone beyond your limits, and pushed yourself to excel greatly. An' have proven your worth."
Midoriya smiled weakly, as she raised her hand to look at it, shaking with exhaustion. "All Might, do I deserve this, are you sure? You all put so much time and energy into helping me, how did I end up so lucky?" Izumi asked, as she began to cry.
"You're our Izumi, of course we would put in the effort to help you. That's what family does." Athena smiled. "Besides, it was your hard work that did this, not ours."
"Now, for your reward Izumi Midoriya." All Might said.
"Yes sir." Izumi said proudly.
All Might reached to the top of his head, and plucked a strand of hair from his scalp. "Someone told me this once." All Might said. "There's a difference between being lucky and deserving. One an accident, the other a reward, never get the two confused. Take that to heart young woman. This gift, you've earned it with your own valiant efforts." All Might stated reaching out the hair to Izumi. "Eat this."
"Huh?" He broke Izumi and Kaen again, with Athena joining the broken crew.
