UA's Saiyan Heroes
~League of Villains Bar~
"Damn it, I was so close to destroying them all, and adding another girl to my breeding harem. But now, not only have I missed my opportunity to destroy anyone else who can stand in my way, but I lost my Flying Fortress, and I have to start from scratch with collecting women for my harem." Celeron growled, pacing around the bar, having eaten a Senzu Bean, while Tomura was left being patched up by Kurogiri. In the corner of the room, against one of the walls, was a television, with 'Audio Only' on the screen.
"What do you mean, anyone else? All Might is still alive." One of the two on the other end of the audio transmission questioned.
"But my brother isn't." Celeron stated drinking from a bottle of sake. "Right before I was about to destroy everyone, I took Ashura, away from him and sent him falling down a giant hole I made with one of my attacks. Took out part of the shipwreck zone to, so it's flooded with water by now."
"You also gave him two other Quirks before taking his life." Tomura said, before flinching as Kurogiri stitched his hand up. "Damn it Kurogiri that hurts like hell."
"I gave him two useless Quirks that I had no use for. Figured I'd at least give him a mercy to not let him die as a Quirkless loser, even though he somehow managed to kick the shit out of me, despite being weaker then myself." Celeron said.
"What Quirks did you give him exactly?"
"A stupid Power Transfer Quirk, and a Stockpiling Quirk." Celeron said, opening another bottle of Sake.
"The two Quirks I gave you when you returned?" Another man questioned.
"No offense Doc, but those two Quirks were shit. They were worthless, and wouldn't have done anything to help me." Celeron said. "Though I think they might have mixed and mutated into a single Quirk when I gave them to Pinach."
"Kurogiri, bring Celeron to my location when it's convenient, I believe we need to have a discussion about what he's done." The television went silent after that, and Celeron couldn't shake the feeling, he'd just fucked up somehow.
~Sunset U.A Infirmary~
"Oh Kaen, Recovery Girl was able to heal all your wounds, but you're still unconscious. What the hell is going on inside that head of yours?" Mina questioned, sitting at Kaen's bedside.
The doors to the infirmary slid open, and Athena, along with Gine, and Toshinori came into the room,
"How's he doing?" Gine questioned.
"He's still out of it. Recovery Girl thinks he's asleep because she had to use most of his stamina to heal all his injuries." Mina said.
"Mina there's something you should know about Kaen that, All Might, told us had happened during the battle. An' there's something you should know about Celeron as well." Athena said.
"What's wrong?" Mina questioned.
"Well… All-for-One never actually worked alone." Athena said.
"Mina." Gine gasped.
"You're not supposed to talk about him around people." Toshinori said.
"She knows. Celeron tricked Kaen into talking about him without revealing Mina was in the same room." Athena stated.
"I'm aware of All-for-One. Continue please Athena."
"Well, as I was saying, All-for-One had a partner, a Doctor who worked alongside him, and somehow, was able to develop technology that could copy a person's Quirk, just from a simple blood sample." Athena explained. "An' six years ago, during the situation I told you about, he gave Celeron a copy of All-for-One."
"Wait, I thought that was the name of the villain?" Mina questioned.
"Before that was his name, it was the name of his Quirk. But as his power grew, he started going by the name, All-for-One." Toshinori said. "An' according to All Might, he's been around since Quirks first started popping up."
"A working theory is that he managed to grab a Quirk that stopped him from aging. It's the only thing that seems to make sense right now." Gine said.
"So Celeron has a copy of this All Powerful Quirk?" Mina questioned. "That's why he was able to use Genetic Engineering on me."
"Genetic Reprogramming actually." Athena said. "I found out what Celeron did to those girls when I got to work on their reversal. He'd stolen a Genetic Reprogramming Quirk I was familiar with, from one of my second year middle school teachers, who allowed me to copy his Quirk. He was one of the first people who went missing about a year ago."
"Aside from that, Celeron had stolen Ashura from Kaen, and given him two weaker Quirks, thinking they'd be destroyed when Kaen died." Toshinori said. "But, Athena came prepared in case a situation like this arose."
"I have a recent copy of Ashura that I can give Kaen, but first I need to remove the Quirks Celeron put in him." Athena said, walking up to Kaen's side, and grabbing his face with her hand.
There was a moment of silence as everyone was patiently waiting for a reaction of some kind, But Athena removed her hand, eyes wide.
"Not possible." Athena said.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Gine asked.
"I can't find the two Quirks. I can only find one that feels like…"
"Feels like?"
"Midoriya's Quirk." Athena stated.
~Kaen's Mindscape~
"Where the hell am I?" Kaen groaned.
Sitting up, Kaen found he was, sitting against the steps to the USJ, and miraculously, it wasn't destroyed, like it had been earlier.
"The hell? There's no way repairs to the USJ could have been made so fast without waking me up." Kaen said.
"They weren't. You're not even viewing reality right now."
Kaen jumped up and turned around, facing who had snuck up on him. Standing there on the steps leading to the USJ, was a figure in white robes with gold trimmings like a monk, around his height, with similar hair, and build. But the difference was, his face and head were that of a monkey, and his tail was wrapped around his waist.
"We're currently inside your subconscious, or the mindscape, if you'd prefer to call it." The stranger said. "It's nice to finally see you again Kaen."
"Who are you? How do you know me? Are you the one who brought me to this place?" Kaen questioned.
"Oh I knew you'd have questions Kaen, but I didn't think you'd ask them right away." The ape smiled, with a laugh. "You know me as Oozaru. I am, shall we say, the source of power that you tap into when you become a Great Ape after looking at the full moon, well it'd be more precise to say, I'm the source of power for when all Saiyans turn into the Great Ape. What you're speaking to is merely a fraction of my sentience, and as I said, we are currently in your subconscious mind."
"So… how are we able to communicate?" Kaen questioned, relaxing slightly out of his battle stance.
"That would be due to a single factor that plays in your life, most Saiyans don't have. You're a peace with who you are." Oozaru said.
"So, where in my subconscious are we?" Kaen inquired.
"Currently, we're in the part of your mind, that connects your emotions to your Quirk." Oozaru said, holding up his hand, and opening it to reveal a black pearl in his palm.
"That's my Quirk?" Kaen questioned.
"It is, and it's yours to care for." Oozaru smiled, before the pearl began to float into the air, and shot straight into Kaen's chest.
Gasping in shock, Kaen was pushed back a bit, as the pearl merged into his chest, right between his pectorals.
"This feels like… One-for-All." Kaen said, bringing his hand over the pearl.
~Reality~
"So, were you able to remove the Quirks and replace them with Ashura?" Mina questioned.
"No, I couldn't even make the Quirk budge."
"Quirk? I thought there were two?" Mina asked.
"There were, but somehow they've mixed and became one." Athena stated. "I don't know how, but it's like they've mutated into a single new Quirk, sort of like how a child can sometimes inherit the Quirks of both his parents, and it develops into a single Quirk."
"But you can remove it, can't you?" Gine asked.
"No, I can't. I think the pregnancy might be affecting Xerox." Athena said.
"Then transfer the babies to me and we'll see if it does anything." Mina said.
Athena nodded and came over to the other side of the bed as Mina stood up. Mina was still in her hero costume, so that wouldn't interfere, as Athena pressed her bare belly into the pink girls stomach, connecting their belly buttons, before Mina's belly started to grow, at the same time Athena's began to shrink, until her bump was now on Mina.
"Ooh. This feels weird." Mina said.
"You'll have to get used to it. I'm not gonna be able to take them back until tomorrow." Athena said, turning back to Kaen, and trying again. "No good, it's as if the Quirk has, completely merged with his soul."
"So you can't remove it at all?" Toshinori questioned.
"No, it's as if his will is keeping it from being taken." Athena explained.
"A strong will that resisted against the one who forced the Quirks on him." Gine said.
"So is there nothing you can do to give Ashura back to him?" Mina questioned.
"I mean I could, but I think all that would happen, is it would just merge with this new Quirk." Athena stated.
"You might be right about that." Kaen said, surprising them as he woke up.
"Kaen, you're finally up." Mina gasped, coming to his side.
"Yeah I'm…" Kaen paused when he spotted her belly. "How long have I been out of it, and who's the father?"
"It's not like that you big oaf." Mina grumbled hitting his arm. "An' this isn't any time for your jokes."
"Alright, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Kaen said, sitting up. "Mina, would you mind going and getting me something to eat?"
"Sure, I'll be back in a bit. The vending machine is still a bit of a ways down the hall. An' I'm already starting to get some serious cravings from Athena's charges." Mina said, leaving the infirmary.
"Now that she's out of the way. What happened to you, and why can't Athena remove the Quirk?" Toshinori inquired.
"Well… Celeron stole Ashura from me, but the Quirks he gave me, were somehow able to make, a second One-for-All. With the energy of the Quirk, feeling the same and everything." Kaen said.
Toshinori's eyes widened, when Kaen spoke those words. He knew there was a secret about One-for-All's origins he'd kept secret, but he didn't think he'd have to tell Midoriya, and Kaen, so soon.
'No, they can't know just yet. I'll wait until the end of their internships to tell the.' Toshinori thought. "Kaen, if this One-for-All is an exact copy of the one I passed onto Midoriya, then I suggest you do everything you can, to build up its power to match the strength of the original."
"You mean… You want me to hand it down to eight other people, then have it passed back on to me?" Kaen questioned.
"It would be, more like seven people, as you're the first user of this One-for-All." Toshinori said. "But I never said to do it that way. What I mean is, maybe Athena could use Xerox to strengthen it to match Midoriya's One-for-All."
"I'm not sure that'll work." Kaen said.
"I'd have to do some research on both One-for-All's, but I think it could be possible. But some testing will need to be done first." Athena said. "Which means, Mina's gonna have to hold onto those two for a while longer."
"I'm sure she'll be fine with that." Kaen smiled.
~The Following Morning~
"Oh man. I'm so beat." Mina groaned, sitting up and stretching out in bed. "Yesterday really took a lot out of me after everything that happened at the USJ. Why's my back so stiff this morning?" She sighed, getting up and stretching her back. Giving off a yawn, Mina went to her dresser to grab a change of clothes, but stopped when she saw herself in the full length mirror hanging from the inside of her closet door, and smiled striking a pose in front of it. "Oh right, I got my band yesterday when classes ended." She chuckled. "Dad's gonna freak." She said, taking a few more poses and snapping several photos. "An' Kaen's not gonna be able to keep his hands off me."
With that said and done, Mina grabbed her things for cleaning up, and went to clean herself up.
~A Short While Later~
"Honey, are you sure it's wise for our little princess to go out today after what she just went through yesterday at the USJ?" Fujio questioned, looking to his wife as she was cooking up breakfast and he was drinking coffee while reading the paper. "I mean, she was kidnapped and almost turned into a breeder for that villain Akuma."
"I'm sure dear. Mina is in high school now, and is capable of taking care of herself." Tsuki said. "Besides, she's going to be with Kaen later today, and you know he's a good boy."
"He's also the younger brother of Akuma." Fujio pointed out. "An' since when do you call him by his first name?"
"Now Fujio Ashido, are you implying that Kaen might be a villain just because his brother is one?" Tsuki asked. "An' for your information, he said I could call him that because he grew up with a mix of Japanese and American cultures and he felt more comfortable that I do. You're free to do it as well."
"Honey, you and I both know that a villain doesn't come from a happy and supportive home dynamic." Fujio said. "I'm just saying maybe it be best Mina stays away from him forever."
"Wow. Just when I thought you couldn't reach a new low daddy." Mina said coming into the room.
"Mina we need to talk about your boyfriend, and before you say anything I want you to know that I just have your..." Fujio stopped when he saw Mina, standing in the doorway to the dinning room, wearing a tube top with a sleeveless hoodie and a pair of daisy dukes with the button held together with a hairband looped around the button through the button hole. But the most shocking thing that stood out to him, was the protruding pregnant belly that hung from her midriff, with her pink monkey tail wrapped under it.
"Man I'm starving, I feel like I could eat a whole cow." Mina smiled, sitting at the table.
"Mina... is there something you want to tell your mother and I?"
"Yeah, I'll be sleeping over at Kaen's tonight. My other friends Kirishima, Uraraka, Jiro, and Kaen's sister will be there, so you don't have to worry about us getting into anything we shouldn't, or doing things we shouldn't be." Mina said.
"I'd say it's a little too late for that young lady." Fujio said. "An' you're not going anywhere, you're grounded."
"For what, and for how long?" Mina asked.
"For however long it will be until you deliver your child, and for keeping this a secret from us." Fujio said.
"Mom, dad's being an idiot again." Mina complained.
"Mina dear, don't insult your father. Fujio, calm down. Mina isn't actually pregnant." Tsuki said.
"Then what do you call that? An' you knew about this?" Fujio asked.
"You were out having a night on the town with your friends, so you weren't here to sign the papers, but that permission slip Mina brought home, was for a mandatory project all of U.A was doing with its female student body, that required at least one parent's signature for her to participate." Tsuki said. "If she looks pregnant now, then she must have already gotten her Pregnancy Band. Her stomach will return to normal once she removes it."
"Actually, I'm like this for another reason." Mina said, standing up, and cupping her belly. "You remember me telling you about my friend Athena?"
"Oh yes, what about her, is everything all right?" Tsuki questioned.
"Everything's fine. But, she started working as a surrogate, but has to do some research on Kaen's Quirk, since Akuma might of done something to it during the USJ Attack. So while she's doing that, I'm carrying her clients babies for her until she's finished." Mina explained.
"Hold on, so you're a temporary surrogate?" Fujio questioned. "How the hell is that possible?"
"Is it Athena's Quirk?"
"Well, technically no. Athena's Quirk is called Xerox, it allows her to copy, steal, upgrade, or erase, any Quirk she finds interesting. An' she has a copy of a Quirk from one of her mom's work friends at the hospital, that deals with pregnancy. It's also what's allowing for the Teen Awareness project to be done with these bands." Mina said pointing to the choker on her neck.
"I thought the tool would be a bracelet?" Tsuki asked.
"We were given the option between choker or bracelet." Mina said. "But, as I was saying, the Quirk used was Maternal Goddess, and it allows her to transfer pregnancies from one person, to herself, or another. I'll be like this for a few days, but as I said, they're not actually my babies."
"I'm sorry, babies? There's more then one in there?" Fujio questioned.
"Yeah, twins." Mina stated. "But like I said, I'm only a temporary surrogate."
"I think what you and Kaen's sister are doing for that couple, is wonderful sweetie." Tsuki said. "But wouldn't Athena have gotten in trouble for using her Quirk like that?"
"Actually no, both Kaen and Athena have provisional licenses. An' Athena's allowed to use hers for any medical emergencies that she might stumble onto." Mina said. "An' this technically counted, as she didn't want to risk a miscarriage."
"So, you're not pregnant, at least not with your own children?" Fujio asked.
"No."
"I'm not gonna be a grandpa?"
"Not for a few more years. An' at the rate your going with how you're constantly judging Kaen, you're looking at very, very limited visits with your grandkids in the future." Mina explained sitting back down. "Kaen is a good person. I bet you anything, that if he actually had gotten me pregnant, he'd take responsibility, and take care of me."
"Mina, Kaen is a teenager, and the younger brother of a villain. If he had gotten you pregnant, he'd have told you to forget his number, and left you high and dry with a baby to raise on your own. I'm sorry, but that's just how young men like him are. You keep reminding us of how you're not a little girl anymore, so you need to face reality like an adult." Fujio said.
Mina puffed up her cheeks, and slammed her hands on the table as she got up and grabbed his coffee, before pouring it on his head.
"Hot, hot-hot-hot." Fujio cried out.
"I HATE YOU!" Mina shouted storming for the door.
"You've really done it now Fujio." Tsuki sighed in annoyance as the front door slammed.
"She's just upset because she knows I'm right about Kaen, and doesn't want to accept it. You can't expect much from someone related to a villain. Especially one like Akuma." Fujio said wiping his face with a dish towel.
"An' that's the last straw." Tsuki said. "You're sleeping on the couch for a week."
"What'd I say?" Fujio asked.
~Mina: Sometime Later~
"Stupid Daddy, always making assumptions about Kaen." Mina said, walking through the streets and eating a microwavable burger she got from the convenience store. "He doesn't know a thing about Kaen. He's kind, gentle, honest, and he's got a big heart. He's not evil just because he's related to a villain." She grumbled.
Reaching into her bag, Mina pulled out another freshly microwaved burger and began tearing into it like she had the first one.
'These babies might not be Saiyans, but the cravings sure feel like they are.' Mina thought. 'I need to write out a regimen to use when I'm wearing this choker with my fake pregnancy after I return these two to Athena, so I can keep fight even when pregnant. I don't think it'll be too bad to deal with, I mean I'm a Saiyan now, and if Kaen's mom is any example, I should be fine. I'll just ask her for advice on it.'
Mina sighed as she finished off the last of the three burgers, and tossed the bag away, before adjusting her backpack.
"I know Daddy just wants what's best for me, but does he have to be so judgmental about Kaen just because his older brother's a villain?" She gruffed.
Stopping in her tracks, Mina sighed knowing that this anger wasn't gonna do any good for her, before her stomach growled.
"Right, I'm eating for three and I'm a Saiyan, and if Scythe is any indication, my metabolism has increased drastically." Mina sighed, before looking up and seeing she'd stopped right in front of a café. "Huh, this looks like a good place to visit, and it just opened for the day." She said, seeing the sign with the business hours.
Walking in Mina found the inside to have a nice ambiance to it, with the décor reminding her of pictures of English tea houses she'd seen online.
"Welcome Master, a table for yourself today?" One of the waiters greeted her.
~Later~
"Man that café is so good. Such yummy treats and delicious drinks." Mina smiled, walking down the street. "Now where'd Kaen say to meet up at again?" She pondered.
It was another ten to twenty minutes of walking, as Mina was on her phone, looking through her texts with Kaen, before she was stopped as something small bumped into her legs. Looking down, Mina saw a small girl, who couldn't have been older than six, wearing a white t-shirt that looked way too big on her, sitting on the ground, having fallen after bumping into Mina. Her hair was unkept and it was a bluish off white color, with a horn poking out of the right side on her forehead. Mina could see the child looking up at her, in shock and fear, but it didn't seem she was scared of Mina, more like it was who she was running from, that was terrifying her. But one thing was for certain, Mina's motherly instincts were kicking in, and they were screaming at her to do something to protect the child.
"Hey, are you okay sweetie?" Mina asked, crouching down as best she could.
Mina reached her hand out to the child, but she saw the terrified look on her face, and instead of going to pat the girl's head, lowered her hand for the girl to take.
"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." Mina said. "I'm a hero in training."
The young girl looked hesitant towards Mina, before looking up at her, seeing the kindness and honesty in her eyes. She was still terrified, but she felt like she could trust this person.
"Please, you have to help me." She said. "Don't let him take me back."
"Let who take you back?" Mina asked.
"Eri..."
A chill ran down Mina's spine as Eri froze in fear when they heard that voice.
'Kaen, I sure wish you were here right now I could really use your help. You have a Provisional License, and I don't so I could really use your help right about now.' Mina thought as she looked up.
Coming out of the shadows was Overhaul himself. Mina could see in his eyes that he wasn't all too happy to have to deal with Eri, bumping into a stranger, and asking them for help.
"Why are you bothering this poor girl?" He questioned. "I'm sorry Miss, my name is Kai Chisaki, and the young girl who bumped into you is my daughter Eri."
'Gotta play this cool, gotta play this out until I can find an opening to run away and bring Eri with me.' Mina thought. "Oh, it's fine, there's no need to apologize. But I really think she should be taken to a doctor. Her arms and legs are covered in bandages."
"She's a reckless girl who doesn't look where she's going." Chisaki said.
"She seems scared of you." Mina stated.
"She's just afraid of being reprimanded for the trouble she's causing me." Chisaki exclaimed.
"I seriously think she should be taken to see a doctor." Mina said, taking Eri into her arms and standing up, the child's legs straddling her belly. Mina didn't know what she was gonna do, but she had to keep stalling. "My boyfriend's mom is a…"
Before Mina could say anything else, she and Eri disappeared right before Chisaki's eyes in a blur of red and black.
"No." He growled, veins in his neck bulging and hives breaking out on his skin.
Meanwhile, some distance away, Kaen stopped on a rooftop, putting Eri and Mina down with a sigh. Looking at Kaen, Mina saw the faint light of green electricity fading as he shut off his power.
"Next time you decide to chat it up with a villain, don't let them know about my mom's occupation, or profession." Kaen said. "You're lucky I was out training my Quirk."
"How did you know I needed help?" Mina asked, putting Eri down.
"You told me, re-oh that's right, you're still not used to your new abilities." Kaen said. "Saiyans are natural Ki users, so you unintentionally projected your thoughts to me, and I made my way to you as fast as I could from where I was."
"Well, that's good to know. I'll need to learn to control that later." Mina said.
"So, who's this little one?" Kaen questioned, kneeling down and looking at Eri who hid behind Mina.
"This, is Eri." Mina said. "She's the one that villain was after."
"Kai Chisaki, otherwise known as Overhaul. We've met. He goes by the name of his Quirk, just like All Might's arch nemesis. He's also the young head of the Shie Hassaikai. A Yakuza group who've been making a name for themselves in the underworld as of late. Also has a bit of OCD and a cleaning fetish. But what could they want with a little girl like Eri?" Kaen questioned, getting up.
"Oh man, I just picked a fight with the Yakuza? Not good." Mina groaned. "Still, I'd do it again to keep Eri from harm."
"Trust me, Overhaul's Yakuza group, is one you don't wanna pick a fight with. But right now we need to take Eri somewhere safe. My place would be the best option. We can guard her, while Athena figures out what's so special about Eri that one of the only remaining Yakuza groups, would risk villainising themselves to get her back." Kaen said.
"What do you mean?" Mina inquired.
"You didn't see his hands? He wears those gloves for more than just sanitary purposes. His Quirk Overhaul, allows him to destroy and reconstruct anything he touches, so long as he knows the molecular structure of it." Kaen explained.
"So, his Quirk is basically Alchemy." Mina said.
"Mmm, an oversimplification of his powers, but yeah it works like alchemy. Problem is, he can't change silver to gold. He can only change the shape of something he uses his Quirk on, not its elemental properties." Kaen said.
"My head's hurting from talking about this, can we just head back to your place?" Mina asked.
"Sure thing, let's go. But Athena has a friend over, so it'll be a bit of a wait."
~Athena's Workshop~
"Athena, you have a lab in the attic? That's so cool." Mina smiled.
"Well it's more of a workshop, but yeah it can work just like a lab." Athena said as Gine gave Eri a look over. "But mom is the one who usually uses the lab portion most of the time, for medical research. Ruby, how's everything going over there?" She questioned her classmate.
"So far so good. I haven't isolated the Quirk Gene in Eri's DNA yet, so I might need a blood sample for that." Ruby stated, taking one of the devices off her belt, and rolling it around her thumb, it transformed into a stylus pen, with a dull sickle blade on the back end.
"Hmm, she's a little malnourished and she's got scars covering about fifteen percent of her arms and legs, but other than those, I can't really find anything wrong with her physically. I'll need to do some blood work to see if she has any ailments. Those should give us more definitive answers on whether she's sick or not." Gine said putting her stethoscope away. "I'm gonna use a needle on you sweetie, can you hold still for me?"
"Mmm…" Eri curled back, away from Gine and into Mina.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Mina asked.
"She seems scared. I think whatever Chisaki was doing to her, might have involved needles." Kaen said.
"Here, sit on my lap." Mina said, pulling Eri onto her lap. "Hold your arm out, put your other hand on my belly, and close your eyes. It'll be over with before you know it."
Eri shut her eyes, and Mina put her hand over them. Eri put her other hand on Mina's belly like she suggested, and she felt a sense of calmness wash over her, before Gine gently stuck a needle in her arm, and took a few vials of blood, putting one aside for Athena and Ruby to do Quirk research on.
"Ruby and I will see what we can do to find out what was so important to the Yakuza about Eri." Athena said, taking the vile.
"There we go." Gine said, putting a cotton swab on the puncture mark, before pulling out the needle, and settling it with a piece of medical tape. "See, all done." She smiled as Eri looked back at her, before reaching into her bag, and pulling out a lollipop. "This is for being such a good girl."
"I still can't believe you have one of those, early 90s Doctor bags." Mina said, opening the lollipop for Eri.
"Hey, I make house calls when needed." Gine said.
"So, what now?" Kaen asked.
"Now, you go out, and show these two a good time and a fun day." Gine said. "Eri should be fine for now. If there's anything up with her, I'll give one of you a call and have you return home immediately. But be careful with Mina, she's actually pregnant, and those babies are Athena's responsibility, so if Mina miscarries, it's on you. One of Athena's old swimsuits should fit Eri. I'll go and get it."
"Just to be safe, bring some of your hero gear with you. I doubt the Yakuza would so casually let her go if their head came after her himself." Ruby suggested.
"Your father should be back with any leads he might have on the Shie Hassaikai." Gine said.
"Alright. Let's get to searching for that swimsuit." Kaen said, going to some of the boxes in the back of the attic, while Eri just ate the candy, sitting on Mina's lap.
~An Hour Later~
After being unable to find one of Athena's old swimsuits, Kaen and Mina just agreed to take Eri out shopping for a new one at the mall. But Eri was dressed in some of Athena's old clothes, and they fit her quite nicely. On their way there, with Eri and Mina sitting on Kaen's back as he flew through the air, Mina decided to start up a conversation.
"So Kaen, how is it you know so much about this Yakuza group?" Mina inquired.
"Promise not to get mad?" Kaen questioned.
"No. Tell me what you did."
"Well… Alright, so remember when I was so badly injured, I was taken to the hospital?"
"Yeah, I'm still mad at you about that by the way."
"Okay, I get it." Kaen sighed. "I know about Chisaki because… I was a fighter in an underground Fight Club called the Underground Masquerade."
"You, what?" Mina questioned. "How does this tie into you knowing about Overhaul?" Mina asked, angrily.
"The night you found me, and had me sent to the hospital, I had fought my last fight." Kaen said. "Overhaul was there, and he was the only one, who bet that I could win in the fight, against my opponent. But after the fight, I was roped into another match, against Overhaul himself. The terms were simple. If he won, he'd recruit me into the Hassaikai. But if I won, he'd double my winnings."
"So did you win?" Mina questioned.
"Well yeah, I faced off against opponents with Quirks involving their hands, plenty of times in past battles. So I took him down in a single hit, got my money, and the rest you already know." Kaen said. "I never used Ashura, in any of the fights, so I had no way for anyone to link me to my fighter's title, Saiya."
"Saiya? You took the n, out of Saiyan and just went by Saiya?" Mina asked.
"Hey, it was cool alright?"
"I know, it sounds very cool, but if you were planning on using that as your hero's code name, forget about it." Mina said as they landed at the front entrance to the mall.
"I guess you're right." Kaen sighed, as Mina and Eri slid off his back.
"Alright, where to first?" Mina questioned.
"Ashido, Yagi?"
Mina and Kaen looked to who had called them, and saw it was Uraraka, walking towards them with Jiro following. An' both of them were sporting pregnancy bumps, just like Mina. Uraraka's belly made her look due with one big baby, or full term twins, while Jiro's made her look six months along with a singleton.
"Hey girls." Mina smiled greeting them.
"What a surprise." Uraraka smiled, before spotting Eri. "Who's this little cutie?"
"This is Eri. Kaen and I rescued her this morning from a very bad man. We're just waiting on some test results on what her Quirk might be, and if she's gonna be okay, in terms of her health. Physically she's okay, but so far that's all we know." Mina explained.
"Oh how sweet. You were lucky to be rescued by these two. They're gonna treat you right." Uraraka smiled looking Eri in the eye, as the little girl hid behind Mina.
"The one who was hurting her is still at large so we're staying by her side to keep her safe." Kaen said.
"So, what are your plans for after her tormentor is dealt with?" Jiro asked.
"We're not too sure." Mina said. "I mean, as far as we know, she doesn't have any family, so we might be taking her to an orphanage when this is all said and done."
"Do you really think that's a smart idea?" Uraraka asked.
"Mina, why don't you go and take her shopping for that swimsuit while I talk with Uraraka and Jiro?" Kaen suggested.
"Sure." Mina said, before taking Eri's hand and leading her into the mall.
"Listen, whether its the smart move or not, I don't think we have a choice." Kaen said. "Mina and I are in high school, my mom and dad already have enough to deal with raising me and Athena, and they don't need another kid to raise. Not to mention, it'd be better this way."
"You might think that Kaen, but she trusts you, and she trusts Ashido. If you were to tear her away from this safe environment you've made around her, now when she's so vulnerable, you'll probably give her abandonment issues she'll need therapy to work through in the future." Jiro said. "We'll see you at the sleepover tonight."
Kaen sighed as they walked away, before heading into the mall himself. Tracking their Ki, Kaen found Mina and Eri in an all girl's clothing store, and just waited outside for them. When he saw them clearly, without anything blocking his view of Mina or Eri, he realized that what Jiro said was true, and that Mina and Eri looked like a mother and daughter interacting with one another, especially with Mina sporting a pregnant belly. As he continued to look at them, he felt a sort of, pain in his heart, that throbbed whenever he thought about letting Eri go.
"Beautiful, aren't they?"
"They sure are." Kaen sighed.
"Something on your mind stranger?"
"Just trying to decide on my next move. I can't leave the little girl alone, and after what she's been through, she needs people who will love her unconditionally, in her life." Kaen said.
"What exactly has that girl been through?"
"I don't know the specifics exactly, but I do know, it's nothing good. An' right now, she might not show it, but I can tell she's happy, happy to be a part of something normal. It has to be a nice change from what she's used to, day in and day out."
"Oh, I'm not so sure about that. I'm sure Eri didn't mind, being taken apart, at the molecular level."
Kaen's eyes widened and he slowly turned his head to who had struck up the conversation with him, and his heart began pounding in horror and rage when he saw it was Overhaul himself standing there.
"I'm gonna make this real simple for you young man." Chisaki said. "Either you give Eri back to me, or you will have front row seats to watch, as your lovely and beautiful baby mama dies right in front of you, by my hands."
Kaen's heart began pounding, but he kept his cool. Looking back into the store, he was Mina and Eri weren't aware of what was going on, which played in an advantage to him.
"Mina, stay calm and don't change your expression." Kaen began as he projected his thoughts to Mina. "Chisaki is right beside me. The fitting rooms have emergency escape tunnels installed in case of villain attacks. Take Eri into one of them, as if you're going in to help her try on one of the swimsuits. Once you have Eri in the escape tunnel, throw me my shield, then follow her, closing the door to the escape tunnel behind you. I'll try to take our battle somewhere he can't hurt anyone. Opening the door to the escape tunnel should trigger a silent alarm that will alert the authorities. When they arrive, explain to them what happened, after asking to speak with Detective Tsukauchi."
From where he could see them, Kaen could tell Mina understood his message, and took Eri's hand, leading her deeper into the store.
"What's it gonna be, hero?" Chisaki inquired.
"You make a compelling argument Chisaki, you really do, and to be honest, you're powerful enough to kill everyone in this mall if you wanted to. But there's one thing that has already become your downfall." Kaen said cracking his neck, and putting his scouter on.
"An' that is?" Chisaki asked, slowly removing one of his gloves.
"You're making me angry…" Kaen said as the air around him began to heat up and blow wildly, with his power level rising, and green electricity sparking all around him. "…and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
As if that were the magic phrase, Kaen's shield came spinning out of the store, and just before Overhaul's hand could hit the wall, his palm hit the surface of the discus shield as he used it to block the Yakuza's destructive Quirk, before slamming him on the underside of the jaw.
With nothing else keeping him there, Kaen grabbed Chisaki as he was in the air, and flew through the mall, and out of the shopping center, before flying out of the city, towards the closest wooded area, and unfortunately, that was a forest well renowned for its legends. Flying through the air, Kaen made his way to the forest and threw Chisaki to the ground breaking several logs on impact.
"Playing hero without a license? How risky of you kid." Chisaki said, piking himself up.
"I might not have a full license, but you tried using your Quirk to attack me, so I can retaliate." Kaen said. "I do have a Provisional License after all."
"Well, that is a pain. An' speaking of my Quirk, it didn't work on your shield. I'm assuming that isn't made of simple steel." Chisaki said.
"You'd be right on that Chisaki." Kaen said, holding up his shield. "This beauty here, is made of a highly indestructible metal alloy that doesn't even exist on this planet. Or at least a third of it is. An' you don't know the chemical components of what any of the metals that comprise this beautiful shield, are made of, so your Quirk is useless against it."
"I see you know more about my Quirk than you let on." Chisaki said.
"I do. An' now you're gonna tell me why you want Eri." Kaen exclaimed taking a battle stance. 'Thankfully, the voice modulator in my mask, hid my actual voice from him that night, so he doesn't know, we've met before.'
"You wouldn't understand the potential I could harvest from her cells. What I could accomplish in the Yakuza with her DNA. I could rewind the world back to how it was before Quirks." Chisaki exclaimed.
Beep-beep…
"Kaen, Mina called and told me what's happening. Where are you?" Athena questioned as Kaen answered the call over his scouter.
"Aokigahara. I took Chisaki to the one place I knew there wouldn't be any civilian casualties." Kaen explained.
"Are you crazy Kaen? Get the hell out of the Suicide Forest, this instant." Athena said.
"Look Athena and I figured out what Eri's Quirk is. She has the power of Rewind. She can use her Quirk to send anyone back to any state they were previously in during, or before life." Ruby said, joining the conversation.
"What are you saying?" Kaen asked.
"We're saying if she wanted to, she could rewind you to pre-consception. Ruby and I used the cells from her blood sample on some lab rats I had and now they're nothing but stains in the wood chips." Athena explained.
"That's probably how Chisaki figured out her power to. A common tactic amongst Quirk Studying Scientists." Kaen exclaimed. "At least now I know what Chisaki meant when he said he'd rewind the world to how it was before Quirks. He's wanting to make the Yakuza top dogs again and he'll tear Eri apart to do it. He doesn't care if she gets hurt, or if she breaks. He'll do whatever he has to, to get what he wants."
"We can't let that happen." Athena said. "Where are Mina and Eri now?"
"Give Mina a call and ask her. I can't exactly say right now with Chisaki right in front of me." Kaen exclaimed before hanging up. "Sorry for the interruption. Let's do this."
(Cue Music… Sold Out: Hawk Nelson)
Winding his arm back, Kaen threw his shield at Chisaki, with the disc spinning like a frisbee right at the Yakuza head. But as Chisaki braced for impact, the shield changed course with a movement of Kaen's fingers, and slammed into a tree before ricocheting off the bark and slammed into the side of Chisaki's head.
Jumping forward, and catching the shield as it came back to him, Kaen flipped through the air, and landed a swift downward kick on Chisaki, sending him to the ground.
"Are you so self centered, so consumed by the old ways, that you're willing to harm innocent people, an innocent little girl, just to get what you want?" Kaen questioned, getting disgustingly familiar vibes from Chisaki.
"I owe my life to my predecessor, I will do…what I must, to make the old man's dream a reality." Chisaki said, using his Quirk on the ground below him, creating earth pikes that were aimed to skewer Kaen.
The young Saiyan jumped back, and curled up behind his shield, with barely any of the pikes reaching him, while the few that did, only grazed his arms and legs.
"So yes, if a little girl has to suffer to make that dream a reality, then I will do it. I don't care if she's the old man's granddaughter." Chisaki said, causing Kaen's eyes to widen. "She is the key to obtaining his greatest desires."
"You mean to tell me…" Kaen began flipping back and landing feet first on the ground, before standing up tall. "…you're conducting these experiments on the grandchild of the man who you owe your life to?"
"I might have owed my life to him, but he was a fool." Chisaki said. "He couldn't see the value in using Eri the way I do. He let sympathies like family ties get in the way of the bigger picture." He exclaimed, sending another wave of attacks in Kaen's direction. "So he left me with no choice. I destroyed a part of his brain with my Quirk, and left him comatose, until I've fulfilled his dream, and made it a reality. Only then, I will restore his brain to full capacity, and he'll awaken to the wonderful world I have created for the Yakuza and see that I was right to use Eri the way I have."
"You're sick Chisaki." Kaen growled, easily dodging and deflecting the attacks with his shield. "You really think the old man's gonna be grateful for what you plan on doing, to his own granddaughter?" Kaen questioned, the edge of the shield extending by ten centimeters. "I WON'T LET YOU ANYWHERE NEAR ERI EVEN IF IT COSTS ME MY LIFE!" He shouted, lunging forward at Chisaki.
Throwing his shield forward, the force of the spin and the thrust was enough to break through several of Chisaki's defenses as the shield sliced through wood and stone, imbedding itself into the final stone barrier Chisaki brought up, with a portion of it sticking through the wall, an inch away from his eyes, showing the extension of the shield's edge, was from retractable razor sharp blades.
With enough force behind him, Kaen slammed his shoulder through the barricade Chisaki had made and slammed his shield into the ground, with the shock wave knocking Chisaki over onto his back, his plague mask knocked off. Before the Yakuza head could pick himself up, Kaen stomped his foot on his chest, knocking the wind out of him.
(End Song…)
"Hands where I can see them." Kaen said, holding the bladed edge of his shield to Chisaki's throat. "Don't move."
"What are you gonna do now?" Chisaki questioned, his palms facing upwards. "Your Provisional License doesn't allow you to kill."
"No, it doesn't." Kaen said, before swinging his shield to the side, and imbedding it in the ground, right through Chisaki's arm. "But there's nothing preventing me from making you unable to use your Quirk." He stated as Chisaki cried out in pain.
"You mother fucker." Chisaki shouted.
"Language." Kaen said, raising his hand, preparing to repeat the severing with the next arm.
"I'm gonna make you pay for that." Chisaki growled, slamming his remaining hand on the ground. "This will not be the last you see of me. Mark my words."
Kaen quickly jumped back and dodged the oncoming barrage of spikes and spears heading for him, while the ground directly under Chisaki broke apart, before reassembling as he made his get away, with his severed arm.
"Damn it." Kaen cursed, slamming his shield into the ground.
~That Night~
"So Chisaki got away?" Mina asked, sitting in the Den of Kaen's basement home with Kirishima, Uraraka, Jiro, Midoriya, Ruby, and Athena accompanying them.
"He did. But I got his mask as a souvenir." Kaen sighed with Eri leaning into him, while sitting in his lap, dressed in a bunny onesie and nibbling on a pulled pork steam bun. "To make things worse, the head of the Yakuza before him, was Eri's grandfather. So he'll use that to rally the other Yakuza around him to fight and bring Eri back to him for his experiments."
"That's if they're actually loyal to him. He might just be controlling them with fear." Ruby said.
"Well, what if we made it so Eri was useless to Chisaki?" Kirishima questioned.
"Don't even joke about that Kirishima." Uraraka said.
"Hear me out, I'm not talking about killing Eri, no way that's messed up. What I'm saying is, what if Eri had a different Quirk that wasn't Rewind?" Kirishima suggested.
"A different Quirk?" Kaen asked.
"Kirishima you're a genius." Jiro said.
"That would work, but the process is extremely painful I mean I went through it when I was barely ten, and I was struggling to hold onto consciousness. Even at the USJ when Celeron had grabbed my face and swapped out my powers. Eri's only six and..."
"I'll do it." Eri said, stopping Kaen from continuing his disapproval of the idea.
Kaen, and the others turned to look at Eri, to see the look of seriousness she had on her face, mixed with a look of pain.
"I caused Ashido and Yagi nothing but trouble today, all because I'm cursed." Eri said. "If you can take my curse away, then please do so."
"Eri, who told you, your Quirk is a curse?" Mina asked, scooting closer to Kaen and Eri.
"My mom right before she abandoned me, and Chisaki every time my Quirk would activate on its own and kill someone." She said.
"Eri." Kaen said, wrapping his arms around her in a warm and comforting embrace. "You're not cursed. You just don't have any control over your power yet. If you really wanna go through with switching out your Quirk with one you'd have better control over, then we can do that tomorrow after we've gotten some sleep. So forget about all that and let's just have some fun playing video games, and eating snacks tonight."
"Eri if you want, I can go grab my roster of Quirks I've collected over the years." Athena said.
"I'll go get it." Mina said. "It's in your lab right?"
"Third shelf above the centrifuge." Athena said.
"The what?"
"The device beside her computer to the left. It's above that." Kaen said.
"Got it." Mina acknowledged, heading off for the attic.
Later, as the night continued on, with everyone enjoying themselves at the sleepover, and Eri mostly staying close to her two saviors, Kaen was playing video games against Kirishima, while Athena was with Eri going through her roster of the Quirks that she had. After a while Athena decided they'd take a break and Eri chose to go to Kaen, while Mina was chowing down on some pizza she was craving.
"What's up unicorn?" Kaen asked as Eri crawled under his arms and sat on his lap again.
"Are you gonna leave me, like my mom did?" Eri asked.
Kaen froze when hearing that, and it ended up with Kirishima winning the round, even if he was shocked to hear her ask that as well.
"I'm just… gonna go get a drink." Kirishima said, before he got up and left the basement in a rush.
"Eri…"
"I heard what Ashido said earlier, and I wanted to know if you decided on it." Eri said.
Kaen let out a sigh, before putting his controller down, and wrapping Eri in his arms one more time. "No." He said. "I'm not gonna leave you. After my fight with Chisaki today, I realized that you're too important to let anyone take you. An' after hearing what you said about your Quirk, and how your mom abandoned you, I got angry, because no one should be abandoned like that, especially if they're family."
"So, what are you gonna do with me then?" Eri asked.
"Well, the only thing I can do. Take you in, treat you right, and hope that I do a good enough job raising you as your father." Kaen said. "It'll be tricky, since I'm only a first year in U.A, but I will make this work, and make it as much of a loving home for you as I can."
"Promise?" Eri asked.
"I promise." Kaen smiled, before sitting her down on the couch. "Now wait here, I'll be right back with a surprise for you." With that, Kaen left the Den, and a moment later, returned with something behind his back. "Now Mina told me you love apples but I bet you've never had an apple quite like these." He said, bringing forward two candied apples on sticks with a green syrup like coating on them. "Ta-da. Candied apples."
"Candied apples?" Eri asked, taking one of them.
"Mmhmm. They're super sweet, and tasty, and the candied coating adds to the apples flavor and already natural sweetness." Kaen smiled.
Eri took a bite into the candied apple, and gasped with delight when she tasted it.
"This is so yummy." She said, her voice and facial expression betraying her reaction.
'She might like the apple, but she's not smiling.' Kaen thought. 'Have Overhauls experiments really left her so emotionally empty, she doesn't even know how to smile anymore?'
"I tasted the candy and the apple's sweetness, but I also tasted caramel." Eri said.
"That's what the green drizzle is on top. It's green caramel. I thought you might like it. Apple slices and caramel dip were always my favorite as a kid." Kaen smiled. 'Eri is six years old, and if that's the case, then she was born the year Celeron became a villain. I wonder if the way Eri felt about abandonment, is how Celeron felt when Athena and I chose our sides?'
"Oh, it's so yummy." Eri said.
"I'm glad you like it." Kaen sighed.
From around the corner at the base of the stairs, Mina looked a little sad, with a soft smile on her face as she watched the interaction between the two going on, before she went back upstairs to the kitchen, sitting at the table where the others were.
"So?" Uraraka questioned.
"They're getting along just great." Mina sighed, rubbing her belly. "I think Kaen's gonna make for a wonderful father someday."
"From the sounds of it, that day is today." Jiro said. "But you sound upset."
"What's the matter Ashido?" Ruby asked.
"Eri isn't smiling." Mina said. "She hasn't smiled once, since we rescued her. Kaen and I were hoping the candied apples would help make her crack a smile, but that doesn't seem to be the case."
"It can't be helped." Jiro said. "Eri's spent the last couple years, being torn apart by a madman, over and over again, all while being called a cursed child. So it only makes sense she'd be unable to actually smile."
"I know, I know. Hopefully though, a change of Quirks should help her ease up a bit." Mina sighed. "Hey Athena, what Quirks did Eri choose?"
"Well, she hasn't solidified her decisions yet, but when she does I'll combine them tonight, and we'll do the Quirk transferring process in the morning." Athena said. "If she wants any more to be added to the Quirk I'll make her, she'll have to pick them before tomorrow."
"Let's leave her be for now." Jiro suggested. "I think she's having fun with her new Papa."
~Morning~
"Oh man, last night was a crazy night." Kirishima said, with a yawn and a stretch as he walked through the halls. When he passed by Kaen's room, he saw it was cracked open, and that got him curious. "Strange, didn't Kaen close his door last night after putting Eri to bed?"
Opening the door a bit more, Kirishima peered in and what he saw made him smile. There on the bed was Kaen sleeping on his left side with one of his arms under his pillow, and Ashido sleeping on her right side, her head nestled in the crook of his shoulder and neck, and between them, was Eri facing Mina, sleeping soundly with her head on the pillow, and a blanket as well as Mina's right arm and Kaen left arm, over her while she slept on the blanket they were covered with, though due to Eri's weight on the blanket, neither Kaen or Ashido could pull the blanket closer for comfort, forcing them to scoot closer together in their sleep, meeting in the middle, and comfortably cradling Eri between both their bodies, as the young girl was happily curled between them.
"Eri must have snuck into their room in the middle of the night, but they are gonna wanna see this when they wake up." Kirishima smiled snapping a few pics with his phone. "They really do look like one happy family."
~Detnerat Co.~
A middle-aged man, with spiky orange hair, a long pointed nose, and dark red eyes, looked intently at the screen. More specifically, at the news report of the attack at the mall yesterday, and the young man who fought the villain attacking.
The news channels had always been a reliable source of information for him, and today he was quite lucky to have caught this article. The young man had immense strength, and it was obvious to him, the boy didn't care about getting in trouble with the law for not having a license, like the damnable society demanded. He needed to find this boy, and he needed to bring him into their forces at once.
"Incredible." He said, watching the boy fighting in Aokigahara, the video feed from the news helicopters that had followed the action, and dodging his opponents lethal attacks with ease.
It was clear to see, this boy was a skilled martial artist, and survivalist. He fought like a soldier hero from the Pre-Quirk Era, Captain America, and even had a shield to match with his fighting style.
"If he could join the M.L.A. Then we could force our plans to be executed ahead of schedule. We'd be able to create a true, superhuman society, and force the others to agree to actually put the plan in motion." He smirked, but couldn't help feeling a bit fearful when looking into the eyes of the enraged young man, almost like he was staring into the eyes of a wild beast.
~A/N~
I have a couple things to explain.
1: 6-7 months ago, my youngest brother told me about a few of his classmates being pregnant, and being abandoned by their baby-daddies, and that made me realize, my year never went through any sort of teen pregnancy awareness program in any of our high school years, so I thought I'd try to simulate that in my story for teen awareness.
I mainly do that, because I don't like seeing or hearing about people, getting hurt by people they once trusted.
