UA's Saiyan Heroes
"Police arrested seventy two villains at the scene, but the League's leader escaped. His whereabouts are unknown."
As the news continued playing on the television screen, an elderly man in a yellow and white hero costume sighed sitting back on his couch, as he read a letter sent to him from one of his students from his old teaching days.
"Greetings, the air is warm here, feels like summer is just around the corner. Hope this letter finds you well sir, in good health and even better spirits. This semester I took a position as a teacher at U.A High School, that's right, now guiding the next generation of heroes. I was hoping to find someone worthy of inheriting my power among the elite students of the school, a hero in training with outstanding test scores and a powerful Quirk if Kaen had refused my offer of taking up my power, however, before I ever began my ten-year at U.A, I met a young woman. Even though she was weak, and had no Quirk to speak of, she showed incredible bravery. She rushed into a dangerous situation that caused Pro Heroes, including myself, to hesitate. She and my son, had managed to save the life of a classmate, even if that classmate was nothing more than a bully. She may not have had a plan when she acted, but she knew she had to do something. I feel like watching this young woman spring into action taught me something that day, and it reminded me of the virtues I must embody in order to call myself a Pro. A hero. That's why, I meant it, when I told her, that she to can become a hero. Kaen reminds her on a daily basis never to give up hope, and to keep pushing herself forward. Soon after that, I told this pupil, as well as my children, the secret of my Quirk, and proposed that I transfer it to her. This ability I have that's been passed on from person to person, cultivated and made stronger. The crystallization of power that binds itself to a courageous heart, for the good of those in need. One-for-All. She accepted without hesitation, and both Gine and I began training her to overcome the trials she'd face to be accepted into U.A High, with Kaen and Athena training right alongside her. Even though she sometimes struggled with her newfound abilities, she never stopped fighting, and gave 100% as she tried to harness One-for-All, with Kaen right at her side, the entire time. I don't like to toot my own horn, but I believe I found the perfect person for me to pass my Quirk on to. She has shown me, time and again, she has what it takes to be a real hero. I'm still quite new to the roll of instructor. The day may come when I must trouble you, my old teacher, for advice. I'll be counting on your wisdom and patience when that time comes, until then, please take care of yourself, as the seasons begin to change. I'll continue to keep you updated on what's happening. Sincerely yours…"
"So… Toshinori has found a worthy successor… and had let Kaen and Athena in on the secret of One-for-All. That is fascinating." The elderly hero said, eating some pastries.
~Class 1-A~
"You guys, did you watch the news the other night?" Toru questioned, her uniform showing she was sporting a rather far along pregnant belly.
"Yeah." Ojiro confirmed.
"It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time." She said. "Though I bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background."
"Well, it'd be kinda hard to stand out when you're just a floating pair of gloves and boots that walk on their own." Shoji said.
"At least he wasn't blunt." Ojiro said.
"We're totally big deals." Kaminari said leaning back in his chair. "Those news channels love us, we're basically celebrities."
"Yeah it's kinda crazy right?" Kirishima questioned.
"Get over yourselves." Jiro said, her uniform showing she had a six month size bump. "The Hero Course that pumps out pro's was attacked, and that's all they cared about. But did any of you see the news this morning?"
"I know, it's hard to believe that Tomura Shigaraki, Leader of the League of Villains, became this way because his father abused him both physically and emotionally just for wanting to be a hero." Sero said. "It's crazy. Poor guy, he wouldn't have become a villain if his dad wasn't such a piece of shit."
"Wow, you hardly ever curse." Kirishima said.
"Anyways, putting all that aside, who knows what would have happened to us, if the teachers hadn't shown up when they did." Sero sighed.
"Did you guys see All Might fighting the bird guy?" Sato asked. "But then Kaen came crashing down with Akuma interrupting, and taking over the fight. That dude was super strong and Kaen still destroyed him."
"Yes. Both their strengths are truly a thing of wonder." Tokoyami said. "Curious though, after the fight Kaen, your arms were destroyed. Why is that?"
"My body wasn't fully acclimated to the full potential of my Quirk." Kaen said turning in his seat. "When I go berserk like that my body doesn't suffer the backlash until sometime after I calm down. Now class is about to begin so let's all get focused. Iida, get in your seat."
"How shameful, I'm the only one not at his desk." Iida said, before rushing to his seat.
"Hey Tsu." Mina said, turning and leaning back to look at Tsu, and nearly fell back before Tsu caught her. "So… who do you think's gonna teach class today?" She inquired.
"No idea, Mr. Aizawa's still in the hospital recovering from his injuries." Tsu said, her uniform showing she had a sizable baby bump under her clothes as well.
"Morning Class. I'll be your substitute teacher while Mr. Aizawa's in recovery."
Most of the class just stared at the substitute with wonder while Kaen, Mina, Izumi, and Katsumi looked at her in shock as she wrote her name on the chalkboard.
"My name is Gine Yagi, I'm a certified doctor and a licensed teacher." Gine said, turning back to the class.
"Uh, mom…" Kaen said, raising his hand. "What are you doing here?"
"Mom?" Most of the class questioned looking right at him.
"Well Kaen, I was assigned to be Aizawa's physician at the hospital, but he kept trying to leave despite his injuries being severe, so I gave him an ultimatum. I told him either let me take over the class as substitute teacher, while he properly recovers, or I'd medically induce him into a coma until his wounds healed, without Recovery Girl's help." Gine stated.
'There she goes with her sadistic tendencies.' Kaen sighed.
"Anyways, onto the announcement for the day." Gine said. "Your fight isn't over. The U.A Sports Festival is coming up,"
"Yes." Kirishima smiled.
"Why would you scare us like that?" The entire class questioned. "The Sports Festival."
"Let's go kick some ass." Kirishima stated, all hyped up, before Kaminari pressed his hand against his face and stopped him.
"Wait a second." Kaminari said.
"Is it really such a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck inside?" Jiro asked.
"They could attack once we're all in the same place." Kaen added.
"That might happen but it's unlikely to, as the security will have been beefed up, and multiple Pro Heroes will be on guard duty there. But I'm with you on this. However, the administration thinks this is a good way to show… that the threat has been handled, and our school is safer than ever." Gine explained. "This event is a huge opportunity for all students in U.A, it's not something the school can cancel because of a few dozen villains."
"I suppose that makes sense, we have to show them we're stronger than they think." Mina smiled.
"Now for a brief update on the history of the U.A Sports Festival." Gine said. "The U.A Sports Festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world. It's my understanding that in the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic Games, but that all started to change, when Quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters, and that would be the annual U.A Sports Festival."
"An' top heroes everywhere will be watching. This is where you get scouted." Momo said.
"She's right. After graduating, a lot of people join Pro Agencies as a Sidekick." Kaminari stated giving a thumbs up.
"Yeah, but that's as far as some people go, they miss their chance to go indie and stay eternal sidekicks." Jiro stated, turning to Kaminari. "Actually, that's probably where you're headed, you're kinda dumb."
"Now-now that's enough picking on your classmate Ms. Jiro." Gine said. "It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garter you greater experience and popularity, those reasons are why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open a path for you. One chance a year, three chances in a lifetime, which means no aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training."
"Yes Ma'am." The class stated.
"Alright, now that we've got that out of the way, time for study hall." Gine smiled, pulling a book out of her back pocket.
~In the Air~
"It can't be. Gine?" Fasha questioned, putting down the binoculars she'd used to spy on the Saiyan Teen in his class. "If she's here, then it's safe to say, the Saiyan and his sister are only half breeds. It could be a problem, but there's a chance Bardock is here to. The old scoundrel is probably laying low, and hiding out to protect himself in case any of Frieza's men show up, to finish what they started on Planet Meat."
Flying off and away from the air space at the school, Fasha had a difficult decision to make.
"Gine's like a sister to me. I can't report this to Nine. But I gotta tell him something." Fasha said. "Best get my story straight before I return to the team."
~Lunch Time~
"Yeah that villain stuff sucked sure, but I'm pumped for these games." Kirishima said.
"We put on a good show, and we're basically on the road to being pro's." Sero said.
"Yeah, this is why I'm even here in the first place." Sato stated punching his palm.
"We get so few chances, we have to make the most of this." Tokoyami said.
"Oh man Ojiro, I'm getting kind of nervous about the festival." Toru said, standing in front of Ojiro's desk. "I have to come up with a way to get noticed."
"Uh sure, maybe you should be looking at a shinier costume or something?" Ojiro asked. "Otherwise you're gonna have to try really hard."
"So what you up to Kaen?" Mina asked, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Nothing much." Kaen shrugged.
"Man, you're so lucky Shoji." Kaminari said, sitting on a desk. "People are bound to notice your unique Quirk."
"Sure, but what matters is I show them how useful I can be." Shoji said.
"No doubt you'll make a scene to." Jiro said, trying not to laugh from the memory of Kaminari when he fried his brain.
"This is gonna be nuts. Everyone's so excited." Izumi said.
"Well yeah, of course we are. We enrolled in this school, with the soul aim to become heroes. So naturally we're all getting fired up." Iida said.
"Wow Iida, those are some interesting moves, ribbit." Tsu said as she went to lunch with Mina.
"You both have to be excited to, right Midoriya, Yagi?" Iida asked.
"I told you to just call me Kaen." He sighed.
"Oh yeah, of course I am. I'm also nervous." Izumi said.
"Deku. Iida. Kaen."
The trio looked behind them and nearly had a panic attack when they saw Uraraka, glowing with a dark aura for battle.
"Let's do our best in the Sports Festival." Uraraka said.
"Uraraka, what happened to your face?" Izumi asked.
"Seriously, what's up? You're normally like, the most laid back girl ever." Mina said.
"Okay, let's get you out of here and to lunch, before you cause a riot." Kaen sighed, pushing Uraraka out of the class room and down the hall, Iida and Izumi joining them. "I'll meet up with you later Mina." He called into the class.
A short bit later, after calming Uraraka down, the four of them could be seen walking through the halls to the cafeteria.
"Hey Uraraka?"
"What's up?"
"What made you decide to come to U.A, what made you want to become a Pro-Hero?" Izumi questioned.
"Oh, well because… I'm wanting to become a hero, for the money." Uraraka said.
"For the money?" Izumi, Iida, and Kaen questioned, as if trying to clarify if they heard her right.
"You wanna be a hero, so you can get rich?" Izumi asked.
"Wow, did not see that coming from a girl as sweet and laid back as you Uraraka." Kaen said, genuinely surprised.
"If we're cutting to the chase, then yeah." Uraraka said. "I'm sorry if it sounds greedy. You three have such admirable motivations, I hope you don't think less of me now."
"Uraraka, there's nothing wrong with wanting to provide yourself with a certain type of life style. It's perfectly natural. I mean, no one is perfect, I certainly ain't perfect, farthest thing from it in fact, so there's no judgement from me." Kaen smiled.
"He's right. Your goal is to support your well being which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have." Iida said, with his usual over dramatic enthusiasm and actions.
"Mmhmm, it's just kinda surprising." Izumi agreed.
"Well you see, my family owns a construction company. But we haven't gotten any work lately, so we're flat broke. Anyway, this isn't something I usually tell other people but…"
"Construction eh?" Iida asked.
"Ah, if she got licensed I bet she could use her Quirk to bring cost down a lot." Izumi said.
"Which means they could sell their heavy lifting equipment thanks to what her Quirk can do." Kaen said.
"She could float everything." Iida said.
"I know right? I've been telling my dad that since I was a kid. But… they'd rather have me live my dreams and go out on adventures, than being chained down and helping them with the family business. I know they just want me to enjoy my life while I can and not bother worrying about them, but what I really want is to help them." Uraraka said. "I'm gonna become a pro. I'll sign with a good agency, and make plenty of money, then I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life."
"Gotta say Ochako, I'm touched by your motives." Athena smiled. "You're not here because of some fantasy of becoming a hero. You're more down to earth than any of us, and that's saying something given your Quirk."
"Hahahahahahaha… Young Midoriya, and Yong Kaen, are here." All Might called out dramatically, pointing his finger at them.
"Hi All Might, what's up?" Kaen asked.
"Lunch. You two wanna eat with me?" All Might asked holding up a wrapped up bento box.
"That's adorable." Uraraka said, trying to hold in her laughter.
"What do you say?" All Might inquired.
"Well…"
"Go on you two." Iida said. "We'll just have lunch together tomorrow."
"Thanks Iida." Kaen smiled. "Sure thing All Might, we're coming."
All the while to the teacher's lounge, Izumi couldn't help but think that something might have been wrong.
~Cafeteria~
"I wonder what All Might wanted with Deku and Kaen?" Uraraka pondered as she was standing in line with Iida to get lunch.
"Who knows? But their powers are similar to his, so maybe he's taken a liking to them both and is gonna offer to bring them under his wing as his protégées, and potential sidekicks for when they graduate." Iida said.
"Oh wow, they're so lucky." Uraraka smiled, neither of them aware of Todoroki listening in on their conversation.
'All Might, Izumi Midoriya, and Kaen Yagi huh?' He thought. 'I wonder…'
~Lounge~
"Only 50 minutes?" Izumi questioned sitting on the couch in the teacher's lounge with Kaen and All Might right across from them as he used the water boiler to pour hot water over tea leaves in the mini kettle.
"Yeah, that's about how long I can use my power now. Since I passed One-for-All to you, I've had to limit the amount of time I can use my power, so it doesn't burn through what remains with me, before the time comes when I declare my retirement.I over did it too many times." Toshinori said with Gine putting down a plate of crackers. "That Nomu was a real tough customer, he took a lot out of me, and yet I still wasn't the one who defeated it. At this point I can barely even look like All Might for an hour and a half."
"I'm so sorry, I should have just…"
"None of this is your fault Izumi." Gine said stopping her from apologizing, while putting a cup of tea down in front of her.
"She's right. You don't need to apologize for anything. Man we are alike, you and me." Toshinori smiled.
"Thank you for the tea."
"I brought you both here to talk about the festival." Toshinori said. "The problem is you can fully control the output of One-for-All, but you lack the restraint needed for using it without busting your arms up."
"What we're wanting to know is, what's your plan during the festival?" Gine asked.
"Well, I figured I'd train to be able to control the power to maximize the benefits in the festival. I'd use it to make a good impression on the scouts for hero agencies." Izumi said.
"Trouble is like you said, she still has a problem with restraining One-for-All, and still hurts herself when doing so." Kaen said.
"No wait, I did manage to use One-for-All, and not damage myself. When I punched that Nomu who was Kotaro Shimura." Izumi said.
"Oh that's right, you did say something about that." Toshinori said. "What was in play in that situation, what was different about that smash?"
"Well… I knew it was real life, and that it wasn't like when we were in training." Izumi said. "I didn't really have time to think either, I just powered up and attacked when Tsu was in danger."
"Sounds like you succeeded in subconsciously putting on the breaks of One-for-All, as to not accidentally kill anyone." Gine said.
"Hey, that's some progress at least." Toshinori said getting up, and heading for the window. "To be frank, I don't have much time left as the world's Symbol of Peace. Soon, I'll have to put that title to bed, because I won't have any remnants of One-for-All, left within me. The both of you, will be the heroes who take my place."
"Izumi, do you still feel the same way you did, when dad offered you his power?" Kaen asked. "Do you still wanna be a hero?"
"Yes." Izumi said, firmly.
"Excellent, the time has come for you to prove it." Toshinori said. "This Sports Festival, it's something that the Pros, no, the entire country, will be watching very closely. I want you both to think of this Sports Festival, as your debut. You are the fledgling Symbols of Peace. The next All Might. Izumi Midoriya, Kaen Yagi, I want you to introduce yourselves to the world, and proudly say, I am here."
"But… All Might that's your catchphrase." Izumi said. "Besides, what can I do?"
"You know how the Sports Festival is set up right?" Gine asked.
"Well yeah, of course." Izumi stated. "Students are separated by class year, and then the support, business, general studies, and hero courses all fight against each other in a bunch of preliminary trials. Whoever makes it through the initial games face off in the finals. It's basically a big, round robin tournament."
"Right, meaning you'll have plenty of opportunities to sell yourself." Toshinori said. "But, let me give you some parting words before I send you off back to class."
"Okay?"
"Some heroes always aim for the top, while others just happily settle. The difference between those two mindsets has a big impact on how far you go in the real world. So don't worry. Just aim for the top in your own way." Toshinori said.
~After School~
"Um… Why the hell are you all here?" Uraraka questioned seeing the crowd of students standing outside their classroom door as they were all ready to head home and leave.
"Do you students have some sort of business with our class?" Iida inquired.
"They're scouting out the competition idiots." Katsumi said, walking straight for the crowd, while some of the students of 1-A looked at her in disbelief. "We're the class that survived a real villain attack."
"As much as I hate to agree with the Pomeranian, she's right." Kaen said. "They wanna look at us with their own eyes."
"At least now you know what a future pro looks like." Katsumi growled, stopping in front of the crowd. "Now move it extras."
"Typical Pomeranian, always thinking herself higher than the rest of society." Kaen sighed.
"You can't walk around calling people extra's, just because you don't know who they are." Iida said, as Bakugo began to leave.
"So this is Class 1-A. I heard you guys were impressive, but you just sound like an ass." Someone said, coming in through the crowd. "Is everyone in the hero course delusional or just you?"
"It's just her. She's the only delusional one here in the course." Kaen said.
"Good to know. My name is Hitoshi Shinso from General Studies, Class 1-C." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I wanted to be in the Hero Course, but like many others here, I was forced to choose a different path. Such is life. I didn't cut it the first time, but now I have another chance. If any of us do well in the Sports Festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us to the Hero Course, and they'll have to transfer people out, to make room. Scouting the competition, maybe some of my peers are, but I'm here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best, I'll steal your spot, right out from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."
'Where'd this guy even come from?' Iida, Uraraka, and Izumi thought in unison.
After a brief moment of silence, and Katsumi starring down Shinso, the blonde Pomeranian made hers way out of the classroom and through the crowd, as they parted for her.
"Hey you. I'm from Class-B right next door to you. We heard you fought some villains, and I came to see if that was true." A silver haired boy, sounding freakishly similar to Gajeel, said through the crowd. "So don't get too cocky during the Sports Festival."
"Oh, but how can they not get cocky and full of themselves Tetsutetsu?" A new, snide voice said, as a young man with blonde hair, pushed his way to the crowd, and standing next to Shinso. "Class-A's supposed to be the superior heroics class aren't they? So it's only natural they'll get cocky and try to portray themselves as superior to the rest of us."
"What's your deal?" Kaen questioned, getting some bad vibes from this guy.
"My name is Neito Monoma, I'm also from Class-B. I'm here to make my own declaration of war against the mutts of Class-A." The blonde kid said. "Pretty soon it will be Class-B taking the spotlight at the end of the Sports Festival, leaving you vile mutts in the cold, like it should be."
"What are you insinuating?" Mina asked, coming to the front of the group, standing beside Kaen.
"It's quite obvious, isn't it? Or are your canine minds too small to comprehend what I'm saying?" Monoma asked, before noticing Mina's pink furred tail. "Oh sorry, I guess some of them would be monkey minds."
"I'm gonna pour acid down his throat." Mina growled, being held back by Kaen.
"You think that just because you got to fight villains, and save the day, it made you the star attractions. The biggest hits of U.A's First Years. Well guess what, Class-B is just as good, if not better than you, so don't go looking down on us because you actually got to fight some baddies. Pretty soon, we'll have you eating out of our hands like the dogs and monkeys you are." Monoma said.
"You make it sound like they wanted the villains to attack them, just for the attention." Shinso said.
"Hey if the shoe fits. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of them actually orchestrated the attack and hired the villa…" Monoma was stopped as Kaen grabbed him by the throat, marching forward, while pushing Monoma back, before slamming him into the window directly across from the door, causing it to spiderweb and crack.
"Let's get one thing straight here dipshit." Kaen said. "No one, in Class-A wold risk the lives of their classmates just for a publicity stunt. An' if you're wanting to be a hero because of the fame and fortune you'll garner, then you have zero clue what it means to actually be a hero."
"An' how would someone like you know, you lower class monkey? After all, you're the same as your brother, a villain." Monoma choked out. "To be honest, U.A's really losing it if you managed to slip in. You're probably the one who allowed the villains to sneak in, in the first place."
There was a tense moment of silence, as everyone just looked at the blonde in shock, some wishing him a quick death, others wishing he'd burn in hell for that remark. But to everyone's surprise, from one of the most aggressive students on campus, something else happened, that none of them had expected.
"You know what… you're not worth my time or my energy." Kaen said dropping Monoma to the ground. "You're just a bully with an inferiority complex. You're nothing special. An' to be honest, it wasn't cool of me to lose myself like that, but hey I've had a rough couple days."
Walking off with Mina following him, while she flipped Monoma the bird while sticking her tongue out to him, Kaen could tell that the students who'd gathered saw him in a different light after talking Monoma off like that, whether it was good or bad, he wasn't sure, and he didn't care, but it definitely changed how he was viewed around campus.
"So, what are your plans now?" Mina asked as they headed for the U.A Gate.
"Now? Now I go train my body for the festival." Kaen said. "I should probably find an instructor for Eri so she can start her fight training."
"You sure it's okay for her to start on martial arts training this early?" Mina asked. "She's just getting used to being freed from Chisaki's control."
"Chisaki is still out there, and he's gunning for Eri. If he comes after her when neither of us are around to protect her, then that's gonna be a problem." Kaen said. "So I'd feel a lot better if I could get her training started immediately."
"Well… I know someone who might be able to help. But he's not exactly your biggest fan at the moment. In fact he downright thinks of you as a villain." Mina said.
"Hold up, are you talking about…"
"Yeah…" Mina said. "Let's grab Eri then pay a visit to my dad."
~Ashido Household~
"You sure about this? Last time you spoke, it didn't end well if I recall you telling me correctly." Kaen said as he stood outside the Ashido household with Eri beside him.
"I'm sure." Mina said. "Let's get this over with."
Knocking on the door to her own home, Mina braced for the storm of yelling that was to come, but instead of an enraged father, she was greeted with the face of her mother, who gave them a soft sigh and a smile.
"Hey mom, sorry I haven't called in the last couple days." Mina said. "Is dad home?"
"Your father is out trying to convince some of his friends to go on a man hunt with him to track down and beat up the young man standing next to you." Tsuki said. "He's adamant on believing he's a villain and he kidnapped you."
"I see." Mina sighed in annoyance. "So you're not mad I haven't come home the last couple nights?"
"The first night was because you were at a sleepover with some of your friends. The second night, you were trying to avoid your father and stayed the night at the Yagi Residence." Tsuki said.
"That's right, Ms. Yagi gave you a call to talk to you about me staying over at their place for a while." Mina said.
"My Papa's not a villain."
Tsuki looked down and behind Kaen to see Eri peeking out at her, trying to look intimidating, but instead looked adorable with her cheeks puffed out the way they were.
"An' who is this little cutie?" Tsuki asked.
"This is Eri. Kaen and I rescued her a few hours after my fight with dad." Mina said. "An' since then, Kaen has adopted her as his own daughter."
"Are you sure about that Kaen? Raising a child is no easy feat." Tsuki said.
"I'm sure. It'll be hard, but I'm willing to push through it to raise her." Kaen smiled.
"That's what I like to hear. So if Kaen's the Proud Papa, who's the Proud Mama?" Tsuki asked with a smile.
"Mama is standing right here." Eri said, grabbing Mina's hand.
Mina was taken aback by that before she looked down at Eri, and saw the bright beaming smile she had on her face as she looked up at her.
"Oh Eri." Mina smiled, as tears came to her face. 'Damn these pregnancy hormones. But I'm so happy she sees me as her Mama.' She thought as she hugged the child.
"Alright, so why don't you come inside? What brings you here?" Tsuki asked.
"Believe it or not. We're here to see dad." Mina said.
"What for?"
"We're wanting to ask him to train Eri in martial arts, so she can defend herself if the man who we rescued her from, comes after her while neither of us are around." Mina said. "Just as a precaution."
"Well, as I said, your father is out right now. An' I'm not sure how kindly he'll take to your boyfriend and Eri." Tsuki said.
"Papa is strong, and he has a shield." Eri smiled.
"A shield I'm still learning how to use properly." Kaen said. "I've been training with it, but I'm not as good with it as the original hero with a shield."
"Captain America." Tsuki said bringing out some drinks.
"He was one of my inspirations to becoming a hero." Kaen said.
"Well, I'm not sure how your father would respond, but I'd be more than happy to take Eri under my wing to train her in martial arts." Tsuki smiled.
"You? Mom, no offense but dad's the martial artist of the family." Mina said.
"Oh honey, your dad might run a dojo, but he's no master. I've barely scratched the surface of what I know when teaching him." Tsuki smiled. "You are looking at the Supreme Grandmaster of the Grand Raitai Tournament, Kaioh Emperor Tsuki."
"I've heard of that tournament. It only comes every hundred years." Kaen said. "I tried to via for a spot in the tournament a couple years back, but I wasn't successful."
"Of course not, you were turned away, because you were trying to enter into a tournament a couple years too early." Tsuki smiled. "The next Grand Raitai Tournament isn't for another few months. You were only going for the annual Raitai Tournament."
"That's the tournament I won last year." Kaen said.
"So you were the champion of that tournament huh? If you wish, you can enter into the Grand Raitai Tournament coming this year." Tsuki said. "Be warned though, I'll be your opponent in the finals."
"Hold on mom there's something that doesn't make sense." Mina said. "How can you be the Kaioh Emperor or whatever of a tournament that only comes ever hundred years, with the next one right around the corner?"
"Hmm? I'm a hundred-fifty years old dear." Tsuki said, tilting her head to the side as if answering an obvious question.
"Well ya certainly don't look it, and your drivers license says you're 43." Mina said.
"Oh right, I never told you what my Quirk was, did I?" Tsuki asked. "Well, it's a bit of a story, but long story short, when I was 25 I met a young man who could steal and transfer Quirks from one person to another."
'Steal?' Kaen thought.
'An' transfer Quirks?' Mina questioned. 'You don't think…'
'Yeah, she's talking about All-for-One…'
"When I met him, he had asked me if I was okay with being a Quirkless person, despite all the flak I was given for being Quirkless. An' when I told him it was a little frustrating being picked on for something I couldn't control, he gave me a Quirk he called, Immortal Phoenix. Essentially when I die, I turn to ash and am reborn at the age of 25, the age I had my Quirk given to me. I later learned he was actually a villain and was trying to recruit me to his side, but I said no and got the hell out of dodge before he could take the Quirk away from me. I'm pretty sure he's dead now, so there's no need for me to worry. An' despite aging chronologically, I don't age physically, so I forever look 25, and will only age physically when I die, right before my body turns to ashes. But that's not to say I can't die from weapons. I will, but I'll be reborn like the mythical fire bird Phoenix. It's happened before, and that kind of death has always left a bad taste in my mouth for a few weeks like when you accidentally eat a piece of moldy chicken without realizing it. I think he might have also had a thing for me. But anyways, I'm the Kaioh Emperor and have been since I was 50. So I can train Eri in martial arts, and the both of you if you wish."
"But, how did you get to be that good in the first place?" Mina asked.
"Hmm? Oh well back then I was Quirkless and I needed a way to defend myself. An' Martial Arts started as a way for the weak to be able to defend themselves against the strong. An' so I trained, and became stronger, and eventually I became Kaioh Tsuki, then Kaioh Emperor Tsuki." She smiled.
"Then... could you please train us in martial arts?" Kaen asked as he bowed to her, with Eri mimicking him.
"I'd like to learn to mom." Mina said.
"Very well. I shall train you three in the martial arts I know. But I'm warning you, it isn't gonna be easy." Tsuki said.
"We will do our best." Mina and Kaen said, with Eri repeating them out of pace.
"Hold on." Mina said, a thought just coming to her. "Mom, if you're over a hundred years old, then how many kids and spouses have you had over the years?"
"Mmm... just you and your father."
"Seriously?" Mina inquired in shock. "I was more expecting you to have had like over a dozen kids with dozens of different men."
"Oh no dear, I might come back to life every time I die, but it took me years before I racked up the courage just to ask your father out on a date, and then decide to have you. I'm immortal, not a masochist." Tsuki stated.
"What's a masochist?" Eri asked, looking to Kaen.
"I'll tell you when you're older." Kaen said.
"Oops, I should really watch what I say around the child." Tsuki said. "Now I trust that this secret won't leave this room?"
"Of course not." Mina said.
"Actually..." Kaen said.
"Is there something wrong?"
"I'm afraid there is. You see the man you were talking about, he's actually All Might's arch nemesis. An' he was and still is alive to this day. An' if you had contact with him, then I'm gonna have to tell All Might about it, no matter how far into the past it was." He explained.
"But Kaen, my mom, she..."
"It shouldn't cause her any legal problems. After all, when she found out what he was planning, she said no to joining him, and hid from him for all this time. So I'm sure all that's gonna happen, is All Might and some detectives are just gonna ask you a few questions on whether or not you can recall anything specific about that time." Kaen said.
"Alright Kaen. You're a good person, so I'm sure you know what you're doing. If you need to, then let All Might know. But training begins tomorrow bright and early, so I expect you to meet me at this location, before sunrise." Tsuki said, writing something down, and handing Kaen the slip of paper.
"Agreed." Kaen said.
"I'll grab my gear for tomorrow, before we leave. Be right back." Mina said.
"You're not staying dear?" Tsuki asked.
"I'm still not in the mood to talk with dad. I was barely even able to contain my anger for coming here tonight, because I thought he was the one we were gonna talk tof." Mina said.
"Understandable then. Alright, be safe, and don't do anything I wouldn't do." Tsuki smiled. "An' I'll keep your room the way it is, for when you do decide to return."
~Nine's Group~
The night was calm, and the air was still, as Fasha returned to the hideout Nine's team was using, flying through the open window of an abandoned warehouse building.
"You're late." Chimera said, coming out of the shadows.
"Recon takes time fur-ball." Fasha said.
"Nine's expecting a report, from you, you know."
"An' I intend to give it." She stated, heading deeper into the hideout, finding a man with long silvery white hair, in a pair of jeans, with a hooded jacket and a black shirt, sitting on an old, barely usable couch. Next to him, was a slender, busty woman with long red hair, in a shoulderless, long sleeved shirt, beige pants, and sandals. Behind the couch was a man with silver gray hair, wearing a face mask, a leather jacket, with a white shirt underneath, a pair of biker pants, and boots.
"Anything to report?" The long haired man asked.
"The Saiyan we were hired to kill, shouldn't be a problem for us, Nine. He's a half-breed, so is his sister." Fasha said.
"What exactly is the significance of a half-breed Saiyan, compared to a pure full blooded Saiyan?" The mask wearing man questioned.
"Well, Mummy. The comparison is next to nothing." Fasha said.
"Explain what you mean, or do you wanna get skewered?" The redhead asked, her hair, hardening, and sharpening like blades.
"Please Slice, you don't have the strength to kill me. Nine might be the leader of this ragtag bunch of misfits, but don't forget who's the strongest among us." Fasha stated.
"Fasha." Nine said. "We are needing you to explain what you mean."
"What I mean is, comparing a half-breed to a full blooded Saiyan, is like comparing a sparrow, to an eagle. Half-breeds are weaker then the real thing." Fasha stated. "They aren't even a threat to our weakest warriors."
"Then how was he able to kick my ass so easily?" Chimera questioned.
"An' which of his parents, is human, and which is Saiyan?" Nine added.
"As far as I can tell, his mother is the Saiyan. She's his teacher at the high school he goes to." Fasha said. "As for how he was able to kick your ass Chimera, it's because of Brendon Urie's Quirk, or did you forget about it?"
"We've got the intel we need. What now Nine?" Slice asked.
"Now, we do nothing." Nine said. "If he's not a threat to us, then there's no need to concern ourselves and go after him, or his sister."
"An' what of his place in our new world?" Mummy questioned.
"Isn't it obvious? He won't survive."
