UA's Saiyan Heroes
"Man I'm so exhausted." Kaen groaned, standing next to Mina as they waited for the train to come take them to school. "Your mom pushed us so hard during training yesterday, it's hard to think she's actually human. A Destroyer God, maybe, but not human."
"It's kinda my fault. I left the schedule for the pool party, out where she could find it, and she took it out on us, even though we didn't do anything after the party, besides watch movies." Mina groaned, her body in just as much pain as Kaen's. "Though we did spend the night at Yaomomo's."
"Guess it's what we deserved. But I'm glad to see Eri had fun with her training." Kaen said, pulling a Fruit Punch Rockstar from his bag.
"So… are we gonna talk about it?" Mina asked.
"Talk about what?" Kaen questioned.
"You know what I'm talking about. Iida's gonna need our support when we get back to school. His brother is paralyzed from the waist down, thanks to Stain." Mina stated.
"I know. I know. But knowing Iida, he ain't gonna be too keen on our support." Kaen said. "If he's anything like the man we know, he's gonna try to do something reckless. An' with internships coming up, he's probably gonna go for an agency in Hosu."
"You know this, how?"
"I'm class rep, it's important for me to pay attention to my classmates behavior in class, and Iida has proven, he can be a bit unstable when it comes to his family." Kaen sighed. "He and I are sorta the same that way. I'd probably do the same if it was anyone in my family."
"You chopped Chisaki's arm off with your shield in a blind rage, after dragging him to the Suicide Forest. I'd say you're worse then Iida." Mina sighed.
"Kaen, hey wait up."
Kaen heard the familiar voice of his sister, and turned as she stopped in front of him, breathing heavily, with one hand cradling her belly.
"Athena, what's wrong?" Kaen asked.
"Don't just ask me what's wrong. I've been trying to contact you all day yesterday. Mom revealed something to me, that you need to know as well. Anyway, why aren't you flying to school like usual?" Athena scolded.
"I'm kinda exhausted from the training Mina's mom put the two of us through yesterday, which was what kept me from answering my phone." Kaen said. "Anyway, what's up?"
"It's not something I should tell you myself. But Mom wants to speak with you sometime during lunch about it." Athena said as the train pulled into the station. "Also, I hope neither of you have been doing some, adult fun, while Mina's going through her simulated pregnancy. You haven't, have you?"
"Well, we almost did the day of the pool party I told you about. Why?" Mina asked as they got on the train car.
"Because if you two had done, it, while in your current state of the simulated pregnancy, then it wouldn't have been a simulation anymore." Athena said. "The Quirk in your collar would have actually formed living breathing babies, at the stage your simulation is at, skipping through initial conception and the months you're past in the pregnancy. An' you'd have been pregnant for the amount of years your simulation would have lasted."
"Now you tell us?" Mina questioned.
"It was in the pamphlet that came with the choker." Athena stated as they squeezed into the cramped car.
As the train began moving, Kaen had to use his tail several times to keep someone from grabbing Mina and Athena's asses, by smacking their hands away. He finally stopped, when Mina butted in, and the guy ran for the hills, when she pointed out that she pummeled guys like him on a daily basis. All was peaceful again before someone spoke up to the Saiyan teen.
"Hey, you, excuse me." Someone whispered behind him. "Yagi and Ashido from Class 1-A." That statement alone got the others around them to look in her direction. "Great job in the sports festival, I rooted for you." He said giving Kaen a thumbs up.
"You were in the top eight right. You also won the festival didn't you?" Another person questioned, looking to both Saiyan teens. "That's so impressive."
"She's a bit taller than I thought she'd be." A woman said as the whole car was now starring Mina. This caused the dating duo to become quite nervous as everyone in the car, began saying stuff about them both, and how they were going to be a real impressive couple Pro's one day. They were even asked by several middle schoolers to autograph their bags for them. Athena did nothing to help, she just stood back and watched amused as the duo were hounded by the people in the train car.
"Keep trying for it heroes." Everyone in the car eventually said.
"We will… Thank you." Kaen and Mina said with nervous smiles.
Eventually the car stopped and all three U.A Students departed, though the weather was a problem currently as it hadn't stopped raining since early afternoon the day before. Thankfully it had been nothing more than a light drizzle before either of them woke up a few hours ago. Pulling out their umbrellas, the three U.A Students made their way to campus, running into Izumi on the way.
"Izumi hey." Mina smiled, greeting the green haired girl. "We missed you at the pool party the other day."
"Wait, Izumi was on that list?" Kaen questioned. "I wanna see it, I'm gonna question Jiro and ask her to give it to me."
"Yeah sorry, I got cold feet, and decided not to go."
"Good Morning, Midoriya, Yagi Twins, Ashido."
"Oh morning Iida." Izumi said turning to look at him only to see him running towards them. "You really went all out with the rain gear huh?"
"Why are you all walking so slowly? You'll be late." Iida said, wearing a rain poncho with rubber boots.
"Late, but there's still five minutes until the bell rings, isn't there?" Kaen asked as they chased after him.
"Besides, these skirts aren't exactly designed for running in." Mina said.
"U.A Students should always arrive ten minutes early, don't you think?" Iida questioned as he began to pick up speed.
"You go on ahead. I've had my fill of running with this cargo I'm carrying." Athena called to them.
"Iida's definitely plotting something isn't he?" Mina asked Kaen as they entered through the doors of the building.
"Definitely." Kaen said
"So Iida um…" Izumi began, as Iida put his boots away.
"If it's about my brother, don't be concerned. I'm sorry I made you worry, everything will be fine." Iida said turning to them, while removing the hood of his gear.
'He masks the pain and anger well.' Kaen thought.
~1-A Classroom~
"It's so weird that people recognize us from TV" Mina said. "Everyone wanted to talk to me on my way here."
"Yeah, me to." Kirishima stated.
"People on the street were staring at me. It was kind of embarrassing." Toru exclaimed.
"Sure but isn't that pretty normal for you?" Ojiro questioned.
"All it took was one sports festival, and suddenly we're like celebrities." Kaminari stated.
"Morning class." Gine said coming into the classroom.
"Morning Ms. Yagi." The entire class said as Kaen took his seat.
"Alright so before we begin I just wanna say that today is my official last day of teaching you all. When you come into class next, you'll have Mr. Aizawa back with you." Gine explained. "Anyway, we have a big class today. The topic, hero informatics."
This news caused the entire class to freeze, well, all except Mina and Kaen.
"Oh no." The entire class thought.
'Informatics? Please don't tell me it's a Pop-quiz.' Kaminari panicked.
'Crap, I bet it's about hero laws, I'm so bad at stuff like that.' Kirishima thought.
'I wonder what's for lunch today.' Kaen thought having her normal blank look on her face.
"You all need code names. It's time to pick your hero identities." Gine stated.
'This is gonna be totally awesome.' The class thought in celebration, before Gine's gaze changed, and she let a bit of her power seep, intimidating the class into silence.
"This is related to the Pro-Hero draft picks I mentioned the last time class was assembled." Gine explained. "Normally students don't have to worry about the draft yet, not until the second or third year actually, but your class is quite different in some regard. In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, Pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if their interest in you dies down before graduation though."
"So what you're saying is, we'll still have to prove ourselves even after we've gotten recruited." Toru said in understanding.
"That's right." Gine stated. "I never attended the hero course so I never got drafted, but I'm sure it'll be fine. Now here are the totals for those of you who got offers." Gine added, as she brought up the list on the projector.
The class were all looking up but some were disappointed that their names didn't have any offers next to them. What they weren't surprised about, was the fact Kaen got the most offers out of all the students in the class, second to Mina's offers, being 5252 offers, under her was Todoroki, and then came Izumi, Bakugo, Tokoyami, Iida, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, Uraraka, and finally Sero.
"In past years, or as it's my understanding, the offers are more spread out. But there seems to be a pretty big gap this time." Gine said.
"Gah." Kaminari whined dramatically. "That's no fair."
"Kaen got the most?" Jiro asked. "I mean, there were a lot of heroes who thought him villainous, so I thought he'd get hardly any offers."
"I can hear you ya know." Kaen exclaimed.
"People want us." Uraraka said, tears of joy in her eyes as she jumped up and down in her seat at a rapid fire pace.
"Despite these results, you'll all be interning with Pros. You understand?" Gine said. "Even those of you who didn't get any offers, you'll still get assigned Pros to work with. Though I can tell you that these hero names will likely, be temporary, but take them seriously or…"
"You'll have hell to pay later." Midnight's voice resonated in the room as she opened the door to the classroom, coming in with a sexy sashay in her stride, her mask on top of her head, like a pair of sunglasses. "What you pick today could be your code name for life. You'd better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."
'It's Midnight.' All the boys, minus Kaen, thought.
"Yeah, she's got a good point." Gine chuckled, passing out the whiteboards, and markers for them to use. "I remember what Mic told me about Mr. Aizawa's hero name, and how he got stuck with it. But back to the task at hand, Midnight is gonna have final approval over your names, which is something I can agree to. The name you give yourself is important, it helps to reinforce your image, and shows what kind of hero you want to be in the future. A code name, tells people exactly what you represent. Take your Hero Course teacher, All Might for example."
"Hmm…" Kaen thought as he stared at the blank white board in front of her.
The time ticked by, and it seemed most of the other students had chosen out their names, though something did come to a bit of a surprise for some of them.
"Now students, who among you is ready to share?" Midnight questioned.
'We're presenting these?' Kirishima questioned.
'Oh great who's got the balls to go first?' Sero asked, just as panicked as the spiky redhead beside him.
"Let me go first." Yang said, getting up from her chair. "I've been thinking about this one for a while. I am, the Flaming Hero: Dragoness."
"I like it. A fiery name, for a fiery fighter." Midnight smiled.
"Oki-dokie let me go next." Mina exclaimed coming to the front, showing her name. "My code name, Alien Queen."
"Hold on, like that horrible monster with the acidic blood? I don't think so." Midnight exclaimed.
"I like it." Kaen said.
"Same." Gine agreed. "I support her choice to. Also, did you watch Aliens when you were little or something, and that's why you don't like the name?"
"I said no." Midnight said, standing her ground.
"Dang it." Mina said, in disappointment going back to her seat.
'That one wasn't okay?' The class questioned.
"Ribbit. I think I've got one okay if I go next?" Tsu asked, raising her hand.
"Come on up." Midnight smiled.
"I've had this name in mind since grade school." Tsu said coming to the front. "Rainy Season Hero: Froppy."
"That's delightful, it makes you sound approachable." Midnight exclaimed. "What a great example of a name everyone will love."
"Me next." Kirishima stated coming to the front. "I've got mine to. The Sturdy Hero, my name is Red Riot."
"Red Riot? Interesting, you're paying homage to the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot, yes?" Midnight asked.
"That's right." Kirishima stated. "He may be kinda old school, but someday I wanna be just like he was, Crimson was my idol."
"Hmm… If you're bearing the name of someone you admire, you have that much more to live up to." Midnight smiled.
"I accept the challenge." Kirishima said, with a proud and confident smile.
"Man, I still haven't been able to think of anything that's cool enough." Kaminari suggested before he felt a tap on his shoulder from Jiro.
"Hey I've got one you could try." She said with a mischievous grin on her face. "How does Jamming-yay sound to you?"
"Ha, oh it's like Heming-way who wrote a farewell to arms right?" Kaminari questioned. "Real clever, I like it."
"No. It's because even though you're powerful you always, jam you brain." Jiro said, trying not to laugh before she couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Oh come on Jiro, quit messing with me." Kaminari shouted as Jiro went to the front.
"The Hearing Hero: I'm Earphone Jack." Jiro stated.
"Now that's a good one." Midnight exclaimed.
Next up was Shoji.
"The Tentacle Hero: Tentacole."
"Oh I like what you're doing with that, a nice portmanteau." Midnight said.
Sero.
"The Taping Hero: Cellophane."
"That's on the nose, good work." Midnight stated.
Ojiro.
"Martial Arts Hero: Tail Man"
"No surprise with that one I guess."
Sato.
"I'm the Sweets Hero: Sugarman."
"Perfect."
Mina again.
"Pinky."
"Make those looks work for you girl."
Kaminari.
"Stun Gun Hero: I am Chargebolt. Electric don't you think?"
"Makes me all tingly."
Toru.
"The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl."
"That really suits you."
"Yeah, but she's just plagiarizing off the Fantastic Four's Invisible Girl." Gine stated. "I'd go with something more along the lines of… Shining Light. Her Quirk is just basically light reflecting off her body, making her invisible to the naked eye."
"Now come on, who's gonna step up next?" Midnight questioned.
"I hope that I can live up to this name. The, Everything Hero: I'm Creati." Momo said.
"Creative."
Todoroki.
"Shoto."
"Just your name, is that it?" Midnight asked.
"Uh-huh."
Tokoyami.
"Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi."
"Huh, God of the night."
Koda.
His sign said Petting Hero: Anima.
"Yep, all about it." Midnight said with a thumbs ups.
Katsumi.
"Queen Explosion Murder."
"I'm gonna say that one's a little too violent." Midnight stated.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Katsumi questioned.
"Why don't you be explosion boy?" Kirishima suggested teasing him.
"You shut up weird hair." Katsumi shouted.
"How about the Explosion Hero: Ground Zero?" Yang suggested. "I think it has a nice ring to it."
"Fine whatever, I'll use it, thanks." She said, marching back to her desk, as Uraraka came to the front.
"Okay, my turn." She said. "This is the name I thought of, Uravity."
"I just love that." Midnight exclaimed with a smile. "To be honest, choosing names is going faster than I thought it would. All we have left is young Iida, Mr. Yagi, and Midoriya. Then that's the entire class."
While Tenya looked like he was still going through the process of choosing a name, Izumi came up to present hers, which shocked everyone, as the sign read, Deku.
"You sure about this Izumi?" Mina asked.
"Yeah, I mean this might end up being your code name for life." Kirishima added.
"I'm sure. I will redefine what this name means, and I will make sure that no one can use it as an insult towards me, ever again." Izumi smirked.
"Who's next?" Gine inquired.
"I'll go." Iida said.
Iida put his white board down and all that was on it, was his name.
"You're using your real name to?" Midnight asked.
"Alright, Kaen, do you have a name yet?" Midnight questioned.
"Hmm…"
Kaen scribbled down a few words, on her white board before coming up to the front of the class, presenting her name.
"I am known as, the Legendary Hero: Super Saiyan." Kaen stated.
"Super Saiyan? That's kinda bold, not a lot of heroes do that." Midnight stated. "I approve."
'Trying to redefine the new Saiyan race, with using the name of the legend as your hero name.' Gine thought.
"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names. We can go back to talking about your upcoming internships." Gine stated. "They'll last for one week. As for who you'll be working with, those of you who were offered, will choose from among them. But those who weren't offered, as I said before, will be assigned heroes to work with. You have a lot to think about, there are around forty agencies who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Like Quirks, each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on. Keep that in mind."
"Imagine that you were Thirteen. You'd want to choose a place that focuses on rescuing people, not fighting against villains or criminals." Midnight exampled.
"Think carefully before you decide." Gine said.
"Yes Ma'am." The class said in unison as the bells rang out.
~Lunch~
"So guys." Mina began as she was reviewing over the list of agencies she was set to go to. "Have you decided what Pro-Agency you wanna go for? I mean I'm super hyped about it, but we've only got two days to turn these in."
"Hey Kaen, who are you going with?" Uraraka asked looking stepping up to her friend, who was at Izumi's desk.
"Well, I'm hoping I can go with a hero, who's skilled in martial arts, maybe even swordsmanship and other weaponry." Kaen said. "But so far, I haven't found a suitable instructor yet."
"Well, I hope you're able to find someone who fulfills your requirements." Uraraka smiled.
"Yeah, me to." Kaen chuckled. "So who'd you end up going with Uraraka, or have you not chosen yet?"
"I've actually settled on my choice." Uraraka smiled.
"Already?" Mina questioned.
"What agency?" Ojiro questioned.
"I'm interested in hearing your choice to." Izumi said.
"The one that the Battle Hero: Gunhead, runs." Uraraka smiled.
"Huh? Gunhead's a big brawler though. Yeah I mean he can act adorable and be the crazy uncle everyone has sometimes, but are you sure? I thought you were wanting to be more of a rescue type hero like Thirteen?" Kaen asked.
"Yep, he sent me an offer." Uraraka smiled. "You know what he's like don't you?"
"Quite a bit I used to study under him as a student at his dojo. But Gunhead is a real nice guy. Took me out to lunch every time I reached a higher level in my training, and got a new belt to symbolize it. You should have seen him when he found out about an incident me and my sister were in six years ago. He went ballistic, and destroyed several punching bags in two days. An' he didn't even use his Quirk to destroy them. He's got a real soft spot for kids, and is protective of them as well, especially when they're his students." Kaen smiled. "Though again I ask, why choose him. I thought you wanted to be a rescue specialist like Thirteen?"
"Ultimately that's the plan, but I've been thinking ever since the festival. Well at least since I faced off against Bakugo, that I could have easily been defeated by him. The only reason I won was because his head was in the clouds about impressing Ruby. But if it wasn't he'd have beaten me for sure. So I got to thinking, the stronger I am, the more possibilities I'll have. Plus learning from a battle hero will give me a different perspective. Right?"
"Yeah, and it would also be a double edged sword, in a good way. You'd be a rescue specialist, and know how to fight off enemies." Izumi said, her body trembling.
"More importantly there's something I've been meaning to ask you all day." Uraraka stated. "Why are you trembling? Are you feeling tired or something? Do I need to take you to Recovery Girl?"
"Oh, the trembling is because of exercise. I'm doing a workout that doesn't involve much movement, called Air-Chair. There are still those who are stronger than me, and I need to get stronger." Izumi stated. "An' I will become stronger, no matter what."
"I'm glad you're taking your training seriously." Kaen said, getting up. "I gotta go see my mom for something she wants to talk to me about."
"Take care babe." Mina called to him.
~Teacher's Lounge~
"Mom? You wanted to see me?" Kaen asked, knocking on the door, and coming in, finding Gine with Toshinori. "What's he doing here? Does he need to talk to me too?"
"Sort of." Toshinori said.
"Your father's just here for moral support." Gine said.
"What's going on?"
"Your father and I… have a special guest at the beach house." Gine said. "Have a seat."
"So what's happening right now?" Kaen asked.
"I know this is a bit sudden sweetie, but… do you remember how I told you about your biological parents?" Gine inquired, sitting across from him.
"Yeah, you told me my dad's power was that on par with King Vegeta's, even greater but he could reveal that, unless the King would execute him." Kaen said. "An' my mom was a distant relative of King Vegeta's, his cousin or something, from her mother's being banished from the castle, and sent to live among the lower class warriors, because grandma's power level wasn't that to be expected of a royal."
"An' you're aware of your mother's family?" Gine asked.
"Yes, she had a sister, who was part of Uncle Bardock's team." Kaen said. "But you told me she died on planet Meat during her last mission."
"I thought she had as well." Gine said. "But as it turns out, she's alive. An' she's here on earth. Your Aunt Fasha is alive."
~Later After Class~
"Hey Mina, Kaen, Izumi, wanna walk together?" Uraraka questioned meeting them at the classroom door.
"Sure." Mina smiled. "Kaen and myself were actually gonna go to the arcade to do our homework, you're more than welcome to join. Jiro and Momo, will be there to."
"That sounds great." Uraraka said with a smile. "Iida come with us… Huh." She stopped her offer when she saw the next Ingenium was already gone.
"Probably already decided on where he's doing his internship. I wouldn't be surprised if he was off turning his forms in right now." Izumi exclaimed.
Just as Kaen opened the door, he was startled as All Might, came sliding and stopping at the door. Though he was bent over so he could be at eye level with Izumi and Kaen.
"Hahahahaha. I am here in a bizarre position." All Might said sounding nervous.
"Yeah what's that about?" Izumi questioned.
"An' why do you seem like you're in such a hurry?" Kaen inquired.
"Hi come with me a sec." All Might said, making a, come with me, motion with his hand.
"Uh, sure, okay." Izumi said. "Kaen and I are going to be a minute, we'll catch up yeah?"
"Alright. See you at the arcade." Uraraka said, as they went separate ways.
"I'll grab Eri from her elementary school before meeting you at the arcade." Mina said.
All Might led Kaen and Izumi to a secluded area in the hall that directed the students to the toilets. Figuring it was as quiet as it could get for the conversation they'd have.
"I'll get straight to the point. You've both received an offer from a hero who'd like to take you on." All Might said.
"Well, I've already chosen my internship place, so I'll pass." Kaen said, before noticing how All Might was shaking, and realized who it might be. "Wait, you can't serious, can you? Don't tell me it's…"
"Wait… Kaen and All Might are both shaking. Who could terrify them this badly?" Izumi questioned.
"The Hero's Name is, Gran Torino. He taught at this school back in my dad's day, but only for one year, in fact the man was his homeroom teacher. I'm sure that you've seen some old news articles and photo's of him, but he looks quite different than you remember him from those articles of way back."
"Yes, it is him. He knows about One-for-All, as well. Actually I suspect that's the reason he asked for you." All Might said.
"Wait, so he knows how your Quirk works, to? I never knew that. Guess I should have figured since he's Shimura's sworn friend." Izumi said. "Wait, does he even know that Nana's still alive, and has awoken?"
"He knows Nana Shimura's still alive, but I don't think any of us have even bothered to contact him, and let the old fart know she's woken up." Kaen said.
"He retired a long time ago, so I forget to count him among the people who know." All Might said as his legs were shaking. "Is this because I wrote about you in the letter I sent him? I doubt he watched the festival and think my teaching was inadequate since you were taken out during the second level of the final round of the tournament against Rose. Then he went so far as to use his old hero name when making the offer, scary too scary. Damn it legs stop shaking." He said punching his legs, to get them to stop, but their shaking was only getting worse.
"He didn't seem like that bad of a guy when I met him in the past." Kaen said. "But as I trained with him, I learned he could be even scarier then Lord Frieza, and I haven't even met that stupid reptile."
"It is my duty to train you both to use your One-for-All's respectfully, but since he sent the offer, you should work with him this week if that's what your heart says. Anyway h-he-here's t-th-the a-ad-address." All Might said, shakily handing Izumi a piece of paper.
"Just how scary is his training?" Izumi questioned.
Meanwhile in the teacher's lounge, Gine was looking over some of the internship papers that had already been submitted.
"Internships huh?" Snipe asked, coming up behind her.
"Yeah, a few students already chose where they were going. Though I'm a bit concerned with where Iida wants to go. It's the same city his brother was attacked in. Poor guy probably has some anger to deal with." Gine said worriedly.
"Well, he might just be wanting to apply there to get a sense of his brother's influence on the people." Snipe suggested.
"Yeah I hope you're right about that, but I have a gut feeling, it's more than just that." The Saiyan woman sighed. "An' usually, my gut feelings haven't lead me astray."
"Well, there's not much that can be done about it. Looks like it's the only one he put down, and we can't really force a change, unless it's absolutely called for." Snipe stated. "Make sure your students choose wisely, there are plenty of third years who regret their decisions."
"I'm sure. But come Sunday, I'm not gonna be in charge of the class anymore." Gine said. "So before that happens, I've got to make sure the students I'm in charge of, will choose the best heroes to study under. Right now, I need to put my family problems on the back burner for a while, so my students can focus on their internships."
~Sunday Train Station~
"Everyone has their costumes right?" Aizawa questioned. "Remember you don't have permission to wear them out in public yet. An' don't lose them or anything."
"Gotcha." Mina exclaimed, sounding all excited.
"Speak properly. It's yes sir Ashido."
"Yes sir." Mina said in deflation, causing the others to chuckle a bit.
"Make sure you mind your manners with the other heroes during your internships. Now get to it." Aizawa finished instructing.
"Yessir." The class, minus Iida, said.
As the class dismissed, and went to their platforms in the station, Mina and Kaen chose to try and use this opportunity to talk with Iida.
"Iida, wait up." Kaen said as they caught up with him, with Uraraka joining them. "Hey if you ever want to talk of anything just let us know. We're friends, aren't we?" Izumi asked, with both Kaen and Uraraka nodding their heads in agreement.
Iida turned around to look at them, and despite holding a rather small smile, they could see in his eyes, he wanted to be alone right now, but he did say one thing. "Yes."
After that Iida left them to their separate devices. Kaen was following him from a distance, mainly due to the fact the Agency of the hero he was shadowing, was in Hosu as well.
"I guess all we can do now, is just hope for the best." Izumi sighed. "C'mon Uraraka, we'll miss our trains if we don't hurry."
"Right." Uraraka stated following Izumi to their platforms.
~1 Hour Train Ride Later~
"Alright, here we go." Izumi said walking up the steps of a building, with a carnival like sign saying, Welcome, on it. "Remember what Kaen told you, he might play dead, but it's just gonna be sausages and ketchup. An' he might act dumb, but that's all it is, an act." Izumi turned the handle on the door, and poked her head in. "Hello I'm here from U.A High. It's Izumi Midoriya. I'm really looking forward to…"
Izumi paused when she saw the short old man in a white and yellow suit, with a yellow cape, lying on the ground, atop a puddle of red liquid, motionless and looking lifeless.
'It's only ketchup and sausages, it's only ketchup and sausages.' Izumi repeated over and over again in her mind. "Gran Torino sir, please stop. Kaen warned me about your teaching tricks."
"Eh oopsie, I was carrying a nice big plate of sausages covered in ketchup when I accidentally fell down. Clumsy me." Torino exclaimed.
'Okay, that's a little weird, why do I feel like I'm forgetting something?' Izumi thought.
"Now who did you say you were?" Torino questioned.
"I'm Izumi Midoriya from U.A High School." Izumi stated.
"You're who now?" Torino questioned raising his hand to his ear and turning it to Izumi.
"I'm Izumi Midoriya." She said in a bit of a louder tone.
Torino put his hand down and looked back at her, before saying something that really got on her nerves.
"So what's your name young lady?" Torino questioned.
'Oh great. He was All Might's teacher so I knew he had to be pretty old, but I didn't expect him to be bonkers.' Izumi thought.
Out of the blue, Torino decided to just slump down on the ground, to which Izumi reacted with a bit of concern.
"I could really use some food." Torino said.
"Some food?" Izumi questioned.
"Hmm? Toshinori?" Torino questioned.
"Midoriya." Izumi exclaimed. Torino just starred at her blankly. "Eh-he, excuse me. I just need to make a phone call." Izumi said pulling out her scroll. 'I should probably let All Might know the state this guy's in. He's not fit to mentor.' Izumi thought before a clicking sound gained her attention and she turned back around to see Torino pilfering through her hero costume case. "Ah, hey uh, wait that's my stuff. You can't just go pilfering through a girl's things without permission, that's just perverted and rude."
"Why don't you fire off a One-for-All Smash at me?" Torino suggested. "I wanna know how far you've come in terms of handling its power."
'Is this even the same guy as before? I still can't pinpoint the feeling that I'm forgetting something important.' Izumi thought.
"This is a pretty good costume. Based off Gothic Lolita with green instead of black. I'd say you'll catch the eye of the public in no time with this." Torino said, after he finished inspecting Izumi's costume.
'How the hell would he know I'm a Goth Lolita kinda girl, just by looking at my costume? It's doesn't even have that much Gothic stuff to it unlike my last style of clothing.' Izumi thought.
"Now where's that attack?" Torino questioned.
"Uh, but sir…"
"Hey what are you doing here?" Torino asked, playing dumb again.
'What the hell is with this old fart?' Izumi questioned. "I'm here because I chose to be mentored by my All Might's teacher. I chose to come to you because I thought you might be able to help me up the percentage of One-for-All, I'm able to control. An' I'm not sure how much time left All Might has with what remains of One-for-All in his possession after he passed it on to me. I see that was a bit of a mistake. I'm sorry, but I can't waste my whole week messing around like this sir. I hope you'll excuse me." Izumi said, bowing a bit, before she turned to walk out the door.
"As I thought." Torino said, sounding serious.
Izumi stopped in her tracks, and turned to look at Torino. The old man took in a deep breath, before he used his Quirk to fly into the air, and bounce off the walls, back to the floor, and towards Izumi, increasing momentum momentarily to land right above the doorway, his fingers digging into the bricks of the wall. Both his hands and feet causing cracks and indents in the stone.
"It's time for you to show me what you can do. Ya newbie. Eh-he-he." Torino said, looking at her with a bit of an evil look in his eye. "I watched the U.A Sports Festival on Television. You seem to have quite the handle on maintaining a certain control of output on One-for-All. But the way you used your power was unthinkable. Reckless. He's not training you well. He may be the symbol of peace and the #1Hero. But All Might's a total novice when it comes to teaching. I can only imagine what a blunder he is in the classroom."
'Now I remember what I was forgetting. Kaen warned me that Torino only plays dumb, before he gets all serious, with his teaching method. It's his shtick when it comes to being an instructor and mentor.' Izumi thought. 'It's what makes him quite the fierce fighter.'
"I can't stand to watch you use her Quirk that way. So I suppose I'll have to teach you the proper way to doing it." Torino smirked. "Is Kaen coming around later? It's been some months since I've last seen him, and I'd really like to see my grandson."
"Oh, no actually Kaen is interning at another Agency." Izumi stated.
"I see. So it's just you and me here huh? Guess I'll put you through the training I was gonna put him through, after learning he has his own One-for-All." Torino said. "Now hurry and get your costume on."
"I'm ready, teach me everything." Izumi said, with a confident smile.
~Kaen~
"Well… this is where she told me to meet her. But why a hotel lobby?" Kaen questioned.
"It's simple. I travel around Japan, doing hero work. I don't have a stationary office."
Looking up from the address paper he was given, Kaen saw a women with an athletic build with muscular arms and legs, who stands slightly below average height. She has dark skin, red eyes which are tilted slightly inwards, long eyelashes, and straight white hair reaching down past her waist. On her head, she has a pair of long white rabbit ears pointing upwards with a slight crook. Along with these, she also has a white round tail, giving her the overall design a definite resemblance to an albino rabbit.
Her hero costume consisted of a sleeveless white leotard with dark purple trim around her shoulders and waist, a wide, yellow crescent moon design over her chest, and a single thick metal plate wrapped around her midriff. She wore purple thigh-high boots to compliment her leotard, with more plating around the heel and toe areas, making her feet look like those of a rabbit. She also has a pair of slim tight fitting white gloves on her hands that reached back to her mid-forearms, sporting small triangular protrusions around their edges.
"That being said, this is the first time I've ever sent in an internship request form." Mirko stated.
"So why break that streak and choose me?" Kaen asked.
"I saw what you're capable of in the Sports Festival. But your anger can get out of control, I witnessed that in the exhibition match. I've suffered from a lack of controlling my anger in the past, and I thought maybe I could help you with that." Mirko smiled. "Now I've rented out a room for you next to mine. Drop off your bags there, and get changed into your hero costume. We're gonna go out hunting for the Hero Killer, and bring him in to end his reign of terror."
