After a furious battle between Dr. Eggman and Sonic, things in Mobius started to be peaceful and quiet…a little too quiet. Dr. Eggman has gone silent, and it has left some of Restoration fighter's concern. Inside of the Restoration HQ Jewel and Amy are looking on the monitors for any activities from Eggman's robots.
"Hmmm…something is off." Said Amy.
Amy was skeptical.
"Eggman hasn't tried anything yet."
"Maybe he finally given up." Jewel said jokily.
Amy chuckled and looked at Jewel.
"I guess you could be…huh?" Amy had paused and looked back to the screen.
An Egg pawn was spotted running through the ruins of Imperial city carrying destroyed tech. Jewel looked at the screen as well and tilted her head questioning what she is seeing.
"Why is that Egg pawn carrying broken equipment? Asked Jewel.
"Seems like Eggman is getting desperate. You think we should send someone out to investigate? Asked Amy.
Jewel walks away from the monitors and ponders a bit.
"You and Sonic are going to investigate. We need to know what Eggman is up to understood? Commanded Jewel.
"Yes ma'am." Responded Amy as she leaves the HQ.
Jewel looked back at the monitor as more and more Egg Pawns are carrying damaged and broken electronics. Meanwhile as all of that is happening, in different dimension there is an ongoing war between the Metallic Mercenaries which the group consists of: A wanted criminal, Questionable Businessman, former leader of a biker gang, and leader of a small Yakuza group. As for their opposition it is the Specter Overlords. The war has set back both groups after the destruction of Woodland City and losing majority of supplies from that city. A final push is underway to determine which side will win.
Inside the city of Orion, there is an underground bunker where the Mercenaries reside. Two mercenaries are waiting in the office for their superior Hiroshi Masato to show up and give them their orders.
"Oh my god…What the hell is taking him so long?!" Yelled Danny.
"You got somewhere to be? Asked Jonathan.
"I was supposed to pick up something from a warehouse. But I'm stuck here waiting for Hiroshi to give us a GOD DAMN…" Danny was cut off as Hiroshi entered the office.
Hiroshi glared at Danny and shook his head before sitting down in the office chair. Hiroshi took a deep breath before he said anything.
"Watch your tone Danny…We still haven't forgiven you from your recent screw up in Crino. Anyway, gentlemen listen up, we got word that some low-ranking specters have acquired a certain artifact." Said Hiroshi.
"Which one is it?" Asked Jonathan.
"The Wings of Helios." Responded Hiroshi.
"Shit." Said Danny and Jonathan.
"I want you both to go and secure that artifact before its too late. Last location I received was that they are on there their way to the ruins of woodland city." Commanded Hiroshi.
"We will get it done." Said Jonathan.
Hiroshi sighed deeply.
"That's what I was afraid you were going to say. Do not mess this up you two otherwise were all going to have a huge problem on our hand understood." Commanded Hiroshi.
Danny and Jonathan got up from the office chairs and left the office. As they proceeded to gear up, Hiroshi is coming up with a plan if they fail the mission. Back on Mobius, Sonic and Amy had arrived in Imperial City searching for any remaining Egg Pawns carrying equipment.
"Sonic you see anything yet? Asked Amy.
Sonic has been running through the city and notices one of the Egg pawns fleeing.
"Heh you're not going anywhere scrap metal!" Sonic said as he spins dash into the robot.
The robot was destroyed, and the electronics was flung further away from him. The rest of the Egg Pawns had fled the city leaving Sonic confused. He picked up the broken electronics from the ground and regroups back with Amy.
"Sonic did you catch one of the robots?" Asked Amy.
"Yeah, and I grabbed this in the process." Sonic said as he handed Amy semi-functional electronic.
"Why would Eggman be gathering broken electronics in Imperial City? Amy questioned.
"Heh, whatever Egg-head is up to when will stop with no problem." Sonic said with enthusiasm.
With what little evidence they had gathered, Amy and Sonic fled Imperial City and returned to the Restoration HQ. In a hidden location, Egg pawns are returning from different locations carrying electronics and dropping them off to Dr. Eggman. His latest creation is nearly complete and is putting the final touches on it.
"Heh! Heh! Heh! This will be my greatest creation! I will finally get rid of that pesky hedgehog once and for all! And the Eggman Empire will rise again! HAHAHAHAHA!" yelled Eggman.
While Eggman was doing his evil laugh, an important component that a certain Egg Pawn was carrying is not there. Without it his creation can go awry and will not work properly. However, Eggman's hidden location was not so hidden as Whisper had found the doctors location and contacted the Restoration HQ.
Meanwhile in Orion city, Danny and Jonathan are getting an armored truck ready to go in the garage.
"Hey Jon, do we have everything we need?" asked Danny.
Before Jonathan can respond, Dominic a engineer for the metallic mercenaries had come by.
"Danny can you please not lose this truck." Said Dominic.
Danny had turnaround from the truck.
"Ah Dom. How's your husband doing?" Danny asked.
"He's fine but I don't want to deal with his yelling after the last time you destroyed a truck in Crino. That truck costed us a lot of money to build." Explained Dom.
Danny rests his hand on Dominic shoulders.
"Relax Dom… this is going to be easy the truck won't be destroyed I'll bring it back in one piece." Danny said.
Dominic was skeptical and move Danny's hand off his shoulder.
"You said that the last time and haven't paid us back for it!" Dominic yelled.
"For the love of god bring the truck back and pay us back already!"
Danny did an annoyed sighed.
"Okay fine! I was saving it up for more weapons anyway." Danny said as he pulls out his debit card.
"Here just take the amount off my card we got to go." Danny handed over his card to Dominic then gets in the armored truck.
Dominic sighed in relive and opens the garage door letting Danny and Jonathan leave. The armored truck has left and proceeds on the highway to the Ruins of woodland City. On the highway, they found the convey of armored trucks alongside an 18-wheeler.
"That has to be it. Jonathan I am getting on the turret." Danny said seriously as he gets on the turret and begins to open fire.
Jonathan swerves into one of the trucks causing it to crash. Another came up right by them and was firing back at them.
"God damnit!" Danny ducks down to protect himself then fires back.
The specter that was driving the truck was shot in the head and lose control crashing into oncoming traffic.
"Oops…" Danny looked back at the crash then reloads the turret and continue to fire at the remaining trucks.
Jonathan drives the truck right behind the 18-wheeler and holds position.
"Danny! Get on aboard the truck and grab the artifact!" Jonathan ordered his brother.
"Roger that!" Danny climbs over the top of the truck facing the doors of the 18-wheelers trailer. He begins to open the doors until a very tall figure emerges from the inside of it.
"Ravager!" Both Danny and Jonathan yelled.
"Surprised to see me…I don't think you will be getting this." Ravager holds out the Wings of Helios then another Specter comes out of the back from the trailer holding a minigun.
Danny still in shock struggles to get back inside the armored truck as the specter opens fire damaging the trucks engine and armor. The truck was slowly losing momentum and Ravager closed the trailer doors and the 18-wheeler escapes with the artifact.
As the truck was coming to a stop near the side of the highway, Danny had fell over onto the ground shaking the dust off him. Jonathan gets out the damaged truck to see if it can still drive.
"Fucking hell! We were so close!" Danny said furiously.
While Danny was having a fit of rage, Jonathan gets back in the truck and tries to contact anyone from the base. Ava had answered and Jonathan explained the situation their in.
"Jonathan is the truck still salvageable?" Ava asked?
"Maybe…look we are on our way back let Hiroshi know what happen. I think this will be a lot of worst." Jonathan explained.
"Understood Ava out."
Jonathan tries to start up the truck again. Danny had finished his little episode and got back in the truck.
"You contacted anyone?" Danny asked.
"Yes, I did. Ava will let Hiroshi know what happen. We need to get back to base quickly to regroup." Jonathan said as he got the truck to work.
"Fine by me." Danny said as he was shaking his head.
The damaged truck was able to do a U-turn and drive back to the base. Back at the Restoration HQ Jewel, Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Tangle have gathered and are planning an assault against Eggman.
"Thanks to whisper we found were Eggman is hiding. However, we don't know what he is building." Said Amy.
"But we are going to put a stop to what he has planned!" Sonic yelled.
Everyone in the room had cheered and proceeded to head to Eggman's location except for Jewel.
"Good luck everyone!" Jewel said cheerfully.
Right before Sonic and everyone else had shown up to Eggman's hidden hideout, he finally finished his latest creation. An interdimensional teleporter in which he plans to use against Sonic and the restoration group. The restoration team had arrived wiped out the remainder of the Egg Pawns that was already there. As they get closer and closer to the whereabouts of Eggman, he was prepared for there arrival to where the teleporter was.
"Come on out Egghead." Sonic was taunting Eggman and triggered a trap.
A glass wall dropped in front of them. And the portal was activated right behind them. Everyone was worried as Eggman stepped out from the shadows with a sinister grin on his face.
"Well, what do we have here. Ah Sonic and his pesky little friends! I hope you will like this latest creation of mine. But you won't get a chance to admire it like I will." Said Eggman.
"Heh we are going to stop you!" said Tangled as she tries to break the glass.
"Ohohoho! You will not be able to break that glass. However, what will happen is my rise back into power! It has been fun Sonic, but I have a world to control heh!" Eggman had fully powered the portal and it begins to pull the restoration group in it.
"Hang on everyoooooooooooo!" Sonic was pulled in first.
"Sonic!" Everyone else yelled as they tried there best to hang on.
One by one the rest was pulled into the portal as Eggman was laughing. But Eggman's laugh was short lived as the portal was beginning to be unstable and the suction was increasing causing the glass wall to break. Eggman was barely hanging on to the control panel as the portal pulled him in.
"Noooooooooooooooo!" Eggman was pulled in the portal.
The portal's suction range was increasing, and whisper was trying to escape and was pulled in as well. Since the control panel was sucked in, the portal was malfunctioning and had shut down. The portal had destroyed majority of the hideout and left Jewel concerned about what had happen.
Meanwhile back at the Metallic Mercenaries base, Hiroshi, Danny, Jonathan, Dominic, and Ava are gathered in Hiroshi's office discussing another plan.
"Since Ravager has the Wings of Heilos, I want you all to be on your guard. He can spring out any incursions in this city. Danny, I want you to patrol the west side of Orion." Hiroshi commanded.
"Why me?! I'm banned from that part of the city!" Danny explained.
Hiroshi got up in anger.
"I don't want to hear it! I spoke with the mayor and your allowed over there for now. Do as you are told Danny! No more back talk got it!" Hiroshi barked.
Danny sunken in the office chair.
"Understood…" Danny got up and left the office.
"Jonathan how can you deal with him?" Hiroshi asked calmy.
"I'm used to it." Jonathan responded.
Everyone else stayed in the office getting their duties and Danny was already heading towards the West side of Orion City in his jeep.
He finally arrived and parked his jeep in alleyway waiting for any specter portals. While he was waiting a small portal opened behind him and he grab the UMP-45 out of the back of his jeep. He slowly moves towards the portal and aims at it. Sonic had come out of the portal and lands on the ground.
"Okay Eggman when I get back, I'll…" Sonic looks up and has the barrel of the gun aimed at his head. Nothing but silence as Danny is pointing the gun at Sonic.
