UA's Saiyan Heroes
Things weren't looking good for the teachers of U.A as the Media were swarming the gates of the campus, demanding answers, while inside, four of the teachers, plus the principle, were in a meeting. The five of them, were the only heroes on campus, aside from Aizawa and Vlad, as well as the Pussycats, who knew the location of where the camp was, and which classes would be there, while they were still looking for their missing compatriot.
"That training camp was meant to prepare students to handle villain attacks. The irony is shameful. We knew the League would resurface, but we lacked a fundamental understanding of their plans. They aim to destroy Hero Society, and they've already started their war." Nezu said. "An' the one leading this attack, is the very villain who we all know, All Might wishes he could have saved six years ago."
"Even if we had understood, could we really have avoided this attack?" Midnight questioned. "They're moving pieces we didn't even know they possessed. Besides, All Might put an end to most organized crime, we're all rusty."
"We've definitely gotten complacent during peaceful times without realizing it. I guess deep down, all of us thought we'd be riding the sweet life for good." Present Mic said.
"I will never forgive myself for such cowardly ignorance. While our students were fighting desperately for their lives I was just… having a relaxing soak in the tub with my wife at home." Toshinori exclaimed.
"We shouldn't have had the Sports Festival right after the USJ Attack. We wanted to show we were still strong. To have a student kidnapped is our greatest failure as teachers. They've taken Bakugo and Society's faith in heroes, away from us." Snipe stated.
"I agree, every news outlet is currently condemning U.A High." Nezu stated. "If Bakugo was one of the main targets, it's likely because of the behavior she displayed in her fight against Xiao Long in the Sports Festival. A lot of people and heroes have publicly said that they don't believe her to be proper hero material. If she ends up joining the side of the villains; that will be the end of U.A, as a school."
"Since we're on the topic of trust, I think there's something that has to be voiced now." Present Mic said. "At this point we can't deny it anymore can we? There's a traitor, at this school. Only the teachers and the Pussycats knew where the training camp would be. Don't you think that's a little suspicious? I guess a kid could have used a phone to message a villain but…"
"Stop this Mic." Midnight stated.
"What's the problem? We have to find who the leak is." Mic exclaimed.
"Could be you for all we know." Snipe said. "You got any proof that you're a hundred percent innocent? Can we know that everyone in this room in an alley? If we start doubting each other we'll destroy ourselves from the inside. Accusing a traitor, isn't something we should take lightly. Besides, I know we can trust All Might, his granddaughter went missing, both of them are, and as the Symbol of Peace, there's no way he'd ever risk her life like that, or any life for that matter."
"At the very least, I trust everyone sitting at this table." Nezu said. "Though there's also no way to prove to all of you that I am innocent. For the moment what we must concentrate as a school, is guaranteeing the safety of our student body, this is a good time to implement something I've been wanting to put into place for a while. You see I…"
*You're getting a phone call sweetie. You're getting a phone call s…beep*
"Excuse me everyone I have to take this." Toshinori said getting up.
"We're in a meeting. At least shut it to vibrate." Mic said.
'His wife's voice is his ringtone?' Midnight questioned. 'I'd find that adorable if this were any other situation.'
As Toshinori left, he leaned against the wall, and let out a deep sigh of regret.
"What Symbol of Peace can't even keep his students, let alone his own family, from harm? What hero can't? I'm so sorry Kaen. Please, I hope your soul is resting in peace." He questioned, clenching his fist before wiping away some tears, and answering the call. "Sorry, what is it Tsukauchi?"
"Hey, I'm sorry to call you at such a hard time, after losing Kaen and all. You must be going through a lot of emotions, but we finally finished taking comprehensive statements from Aizawa, and Vlad King, and I think we found something. It's possible we have a lead on where the League of Villains is hiding." Tsukauchi said.
"Really, are you serious?" Toshinori questioned.
"Yep. About two weeks ago, I sent an officer around to gather information. A bystander said that he'd seen a man with a patchwork face, entering a building that's supposed to be vacant. The man looked to be in his twenties, but we didn't find any plausible matches when we checked criminal records. We spoke with the owner of the building though, and found that there's a sort of, hidden bar there. My men thought this was unrelated to our kidnapping case and didn't investigate further. But remember the description of the villain from the attack, the one with a patchwork face. Given the profile of this crime, we'll move as soon as we get the green light."
"Thank you Tsukauchi. But, is there any progress on the other situation?"
"I'm afraid not. Ms. Ashido's body was found with a puncture mark on her neck, as well as some sort of dark that contained some sort of liquid inside. Other then that, and knowing who their target was, we don't have any leads on who killed her." Tsukauchi stated. "What we do know, after studying her cells for a bit, was her Quirk Genes, were somehow shut off by whatever was in that bullet, thus rendering her Quirk inert when she was killed. Whoever killed Tsuki Ashido, and kidnapped Eri, must have known about Ashido's Quirk, and former title as Kaioh Emperor, which had been passed on to… Sorry, I forgot to keep quiet about that." The detective apologized.
"It's fine, it's a big transition that we all need to get used to." Toshinori said.
"Back to the main matter at hand with the League of Villains. This information is top secret, I'm only telling you, because it's you, and I thought you had a right to know. We plan to ask for the cooperation of many pro heroes for this rescue, and inevitable cleanup mission. All Might, we need your power." Tsukauchi said. "All Might are you still there?"
"Tsukauchi, you're a wonderful friend. An' I know just what I'll say when I find them." Toshinori said, turning into All Might, his smile nowhere to be seen. "I am here. To make you pay for what you've done."
~Mina Ashido~
Mina just sat on her bed, her arms wrapped around a stuffed animal she's had since she was a kid, and only pulls it out when she feels like she needs it, and right now she'd needed it more then she's ever had before, as she cried into her stuffed animals embrace.
Knock-knock-knock. "Mina, it's Athena can I come in?"
"Door's unlocked." Mina said, trying to wipe away the tear stained face that she had.
"Hey." Athena said coming in, a hand on her pregnant middle. "I wanted to see if you were doing any better. I know losing someone is hard, but to lose two people at once."
"It's fine, I'm fine." Mina said. "I just don't get it. My mom's Quirk should have brought her back by now. Her face was caved in, like a steel girder had fallen on top of her, but according to the log book she keeps on when her Quirk is used, she's come back from far worse deaths."
"There is a chance that her Quirk had its limits on that. Like… maybe the last time she died, was the last time she could come back." Athena said.
"Do you really believe that's the case?"
"No." Athena stated. "I believe there's something more going on here. There was foul play involved, and I think I know how to bring her back now that the drug comprised from Eri's Rewind cells, is out of her system."
"I hope you're right." Mina said. "I've already lost Kaen, I don't wanna lose my mom for good to."
"The police called earlier, and said you're free to come and identify the body for yourself. I think that could be the perfect time to do this." Athena said.
"Alright." Mina stated, getting off her bed, and grabbing her jacket. "Let's go."
~Kaen~
"Alright Kaen, don't panic." The teen Saiyan told himself as he walked through the streets of Planet Vegeta, all the Saiyans around him giving him dirty looks. "There's got to be a reasonable explanation to all this. Just think, how could I have ended up here?"
Continuing to walk, Kaen was unaware of where he was going, until he bumped into someone, and knocked them over.
"Oh, my bad I'm sorry about that." Kaen said.
"The hell's your problem kid?" The Saiyan he bumped into questioned angrily.
"I'm sorry, here let me help you up."
"I don't need your damn pity or help." The Saiyan stated, getting to his feet. "If you got a problem with me, then come out and say it."
"I do not have a problem with you. It was an accident, and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Kaen stated, before noticing the crowd around them had formed a makeshift fight arena. "Oh crap, we're gonna fight aren't we?"
"You got that right punk. You catch on quick." The Saiyan stated, cracking his knuckles with a smirk. "With such a puny power level, you should prepare to get your face smashed in."
"Sorry but… my power level is actually higher, I'm just suppressing it." Kaen said, before he had to duck, as a fist was swung at him. "Hey watch it. Me bumping into you was an accident."
"I don't care. This is how we do things on Planet Vegeta, did you forget, or are you just stupid?"
"Neither actually, I'm a Saiyan born off world." Kaen said. 'Why'd I say that? I was born here on Planet Vegeta.'
"Ah, so you're new to the planet. Well let me greet you with a warm welcome." The Saiyan stated, hitting him in the face with a punch. "The gravity here is ten times stronger then on most other planets. So you're not very lucky to have picked a fight with me."
"I told you." Kaen growled. "It was an accident."
The Saiyan didn't seem to listen as he threw another punch at Kaen, but the teen Saiyan had enough and caught the bigger Saiyan's arm, before hitting him with a shoulder throw and slamming him into the ground.
"Lucky… shot." The older Saiyan groaned, not even trying to get up off the ground.
"Damn it… I was really hoping not to draw attention to myself." Kaen sighed.
"Hey you, stop right there."
Kaen turned around, just as two Saiyans, dressed in royal guards uniforms, landed on the ground and aimed energy blasts at him.
"No need for violence. I'll cooperate." Kaen sighed, slowly raising his hands.
~Later~
"Can I at least have a phone call?" Kaen questioned, as the cell doors were shut on him. "This is not good."
"You're telling me kid." A gruff voice said, alerting Kaen to the fact he wasn't alone. "I thought I'd finally have some peace and quiet in here, but I guess that was too much to ask for."
Turning to look at who'd spoken, Kaen's eyes widened when he saw a living legend.
"Bardock?" Kaen asked.
"So you know who I am. That's great." Bardock grumped. "I get locked up for defying one detail about my mission, and I'm locked up with a fan of mine."
"Sorry, I'm just surprised to see you here." Kaen said.
"Well, I'm surprised to see a Saiyan, not in Frieza Force Armor." Bardock said. "What are you locked up for?"
"Got into a fight out in public. I wasn't even trying to fight, I just accidentally bumped into someone and knocked them over."
"Did you offer to help him up?" Bardock asked.
"Yes."
"There's where the fight was issued. To a Saiyan, being offered a sign of pity, like an offer to be helped up after falling, is a threat to their pride and a challenge to their strength."
"Yeah, well I was born and raised off world, so I'm not all too familiar with the customs of my people." Kaen said.
"Bardock, you're free to go. Your suspension is up." One of the guards said, opening the cell door.
"About time. I've already been in here for a week." Bardock stated.
"You, you're coming with me to face punishment by King Vegeta." The guard stated, pointing to Kaen.
"Alright, I won't resist." Kaen said, before the cuffs were placed on his wrists.
Following the guard, the two Saiyans stopped, when Bardock called for him.
"Hey kid." Bardock said. "Whatever you do, don't piss off the King."
"What happens if I do?"
"Then your only chance for survival, is to call for a challenge, only the strong can survive." Bardock said, before walking away.
As Bardock left, Kaen was confused as to what he was talking about, but when making his way through the palace with the guard, he contemplated and thought back on a few things Gine had told him about Saiyan Trials, and the different kinds there were.
'Let's see, there's the trial by fire, the trial by air, resistance, surprisingly dance, and a normal trial, for treason. But I still feel like there's one I'm still missing.' Kaen thought.
Before he could contemplate and bring his thoughts back to the trials, the two Saiyans stopped at the great hall, where a great banquet was set up, and to his surprise, he saw a sight he'd only been told about, and his fears were true, and the story rang in his head.
"About five days before Planet Vegeta was destroyed, the Royal Palace had received a visitor, a being of immense power, no one could hope to stand against." The words rang true, as the beings Gine spoke of, were right in his sights. "Visiting the palace that day, was Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his attendant Whis."
"Can your miserable little brain comprehend why I'm so angry, Saiyan King?" Beerus questioned, sitting at the head of the table, and one foot on the back of King Vegeta's head. "Answer me."
"Because I promised to fulfill your mission in the time you gave us Lord Beerus, but it took longer then I thought." King Vegeta said.
"Wrong." Beerus stated.
"Father's being humiliated." Kaen heard the voice of a child say, before looking over to see a younger, practically carbon copy of King Vegeta just looking on behind a wall of rocks. "How can he take that, just who is this filth?"
'That must be Prince Vegeta. Mom said that he leaves for his mission the day after Lord Beerus's visit.' Kaen thought, before looking back towards the Destroyer God, and Saiyan King, but to his surprise, Whis had his eyes on him, while Beerus was dealing with King Vegeta.
"I consider myself a rather flexible deity. I know you mortals have your limitations. But there is one thing I cannot tolerate." Beerus said, before stomping King Vegeta's face into the ground. "The callus arrogance of those who do not pay the respect a Destroyer is due."
"Not good." Kaen hissed, seeing the expression on the Prince's face.
"I ordered you to find me the most comfortable pillow in all the universe. An' I know for a fact, you obtained it. Your tenacity was impressive, although your methods, a bit severe." Beerus said, removing his foot from the King's head and pulling him up by his hair. "I bet you don't even know how many creatures you killed in that raid. Of course being what I am, I could have accepted all that if you had simply given me the best pillow, instead of keeping it for yourself, and trying to fool me with the second best."
"Damn it." Kaen hissed again, before breaking the chains on his cuffs and running toward them.
"Hey wait, get back here." The guard called out to him.
"Lord Beerus, wait." Kaen called out to him, stopping ten feet from the deity and taking a knee.
"My, you're a tenacious one, aren't you?" Beerus questioned, looking right at Kaen. "Speak boy, before I destroy you, and your King."
"I beseech thee Lord Beerus, please understand it was not the King's intention to fool you and deprive you of your pillow." Kaen stated.
"Hmm? Then what were his intentions." Beerus inquired.
"During the raids to claim the pillow, it got covered in blood splatter, and so we thought that you would be satisfied with the second best pillow, until the blood had been cleaned completely from the pillow, so as to not stain your divine garments Lord Beerus." Kaen said. "Please, I beg you, understand that we only meant for you to have the other pillow until the best could be available to you."
"Is that so?" Beerus questioned.
There was a moment of tense contemplation, before Beerus released Vegeta's head, and stepped up to Kaen, grabbing his cheeks, and turning his head to both sides, before pointing a finger at his hair.
"Hakai." Beerus said, destroying the black hair dye gel that covered the red streak. "Tell me boy, are you a pure blood Saiyan?"
"I am my Lord." Kaen said.
"Intriguing. But why is it, you're wearing the remains of shackles, and not the traditional Saiyan garb?" Beerus questioned.
"I… had gotten into a fight in town, and was arrested for causing a disturbance." Kaen said.
"Is that all? That explains the shackles, but what of your clothes?"
"I spent some time off world, on another planet to train and hone my power. These garbs are given to their strongest warriors." Kaen stated.
"Oh, I see. Your power level is rather impressive." Beerus smiled, standing back up. "For a mortal's that is. But it's still rather low and not considered anything legendary. In fact, I'd have to say you're nearly on par with the King himself here."
"Your praise is too kind sir." Kaen said, bowing his head again.
"Come boy, join me for the feast. Anyone who has the gull to stand up to me, but still show the respect I'm due, is worthy to sit by my side for a feast." Beerus said.
"You're too king Lord Beerus." Kaen said, pulling up a seat next to him.
"King Vegeta." Beerus began. "You should be grateful to this young one. He's just spared your planet a doomed fate, for now. Bring me my requested pillow at once the moment the cleaning is complete, and all is forgiven."
"Yes My Lord. I'll have it brought right away." King Vegeta said, as he began to walk away.
"Ah, aren't you forgetting something first?" Beerus questioned. "Boy, hold up your arms."
Kaen did so, realizing Beerus was talking about the broken cuffs around his wrists.
"Right of course." King Vegeta said. "Guards, remove his cuffs at once."
"Uh… keep one on?" Kaen asked. "I'd like to keep it as a memento of my meal with Lord Beerus."
"Very well." King Vegeta said, as only the left cuff was removed from Kaen.
"Thank you King." Beerus smiled before turning to look at Kaen. "Now, let's chat, shall we boy?"
~Present Day~
"I'm sorry you have to come here, so soon." Tsukauchi said as they entered the morgue.
"It's fine. Athena believes she might have a way to help." Mina stated.
"Well, in either case, your mom's body is right here." Tsukauchi stated, pulling out the drawer with Tsuki's body inside. "Athena, if you truly think you can help, then I won't stop you. I've already turned off the security cameras, so if you do this, it will be officially reported as a delayed activation of her Quirk."
"That won't be necessary, my Provisional License doesn't expire for another month, so this would count as using it for a medical emergency." Athena said.
"Oh I'm well aware of that, but be that as it may, they needed to be shut off anyway. Servers are being updated and the hardware had to be shut down in order for that to happen." Tsukauchi stated.
"Alright… Athena do your thing." Mina said.
Athena just nodded, and put her hands on Tsuki's cold shoulders, before she released a pulse of energy, and sent it running through the cadaver. Stepping back, Athena, Mina, and Tsukauchi waited for a brief moment, but nothing seemed to happen.
"Well, I gave it my best shot." Athena sighed.
"It's not your fault Athena." Mina said. "I didn't get my hopes up anyway, so I was prepared for it to not work."
"I wouldn't be so sure." Tsukauchi said.
Mina and Athena looked to him, then to the cadaver, and gasped when Tsuki's body was glowing, before turning to ashes. Taking a cautious step forward, Mina was hesitant, before her mothers ashen body began to reform, and Tsuki was whole again, before she gasped for breath, and sat up.
"Fujio you…"
"Mom." Mina said, grabbing Tsuki's arm tears of happiness falling from her cheeks. "It's okay. You're back."
"I'm back? Oh thank goodness, that stupid Quirk erasing drug didn't work after all." Tsuki sighed. "Hold on, where are we?"
"We're actually in the forensic investigator's morgue." Mina said. "An' the drug did sort of work, but it was only temporary. You've been dead for two days."
"But if I died while my Quirk was shut off, then I shouldn't be here right now." Tsuki said.
"That's thanks to me Ms. Ashido." Athena said. "I used my Quirk, Xerox to giveyour Quirk Genes a sort of, jump start, like you give a car when it's battery is drained from being in the cold for too long."
"Nice analogy." Mina chuckled.
"I thought it was a good way to explain it." Tsuki said. "Where's Kaen? Shouldn't he be here?"
"Kaen… he…"
"Ma'am." Tsukauchi said, addressing Tsuki. "I'm Detective Tsukauchi. Last night, there was an attack on the training camp where the hero course students were training to handle villain attacks. Unfortunately, one of the students had smuggled in his hero costume, and after dawning it, he went and fought their heaviest hitters on his own. Kaen Yagi, lost his life in the fight, there weren't even any remains to gather for the family."
"Oh dear." Tsuki gasped. "Mina I am so sorry." She said, pulling her daughter in for a hug.
"I'm afraid that's where you're mistaken."
"Gah." Mina shreaked. "Grandpa, what are you doing here?"
"I see Kaen told you the truth." Mecheal said.
"No actually. I figured it out, when I saw the picture of you holding me as a baby." Mina said.
"Mecheal." Tsuki said.
"It's wonderful to see you again Tsuki." Mecheal smiled, looking to her.
"I'm sorry, who are you and how did you get in here?" Tsukauchi questioned.
"My apologies." Mecheal stated. "I won't be long. I'm Mecheal, Earth's Guardian."
"Hold on, you said we were mistaken about something?" Athena asked.
"Yes." Mecheal stated. "Truth of the matter is, Kaen isn't dead."
"An' you know this how?" Tsukauchi inquired.
Holding up his hand, Mecheal produced a video of the scene happening before Kaen's, demise, while it looked like it was made of mist.
"Ms. Yagi, does anything on Kaen look familiar? Anything on one of his arms perhaps?" Mecheal asked.
Athena looked to him, then to the video, before her eyes widened when she saw what he was talking about.
"Holy crap. Kaen's still wearing the Instant Teleportation watch." Athena said.
"The what?" Tsukauchi asked.
"A device I made a prototype of to help Heroes get to crime scenes faster. It was still in beta testing, but I hadn't realized Kaen still held onto the model I made for him." Athena stated. "But there's something off, it looks damaged."
"Exactly." Mecheal said. "That's what is important in this situation. With the device damaged, the energy from both Kaen and Akuma colliding mixed with the energy that was leaking out of it. Kaen isn't dead, he's just somewhere lost in space, possibly on this planet, or on another entirely."
"But… isn't there the possibility he actually is dead?" Tsuki asked. "I mean, I wanna be hopeful, but I'm not gonna ignore reality either."
"There was a chance, yes. But I spoke with King Yemma." Mecheal said.
"Who?" Mina asked.
"Guardian and gatekeeper to the after life. The judge on who's soul goes where after death. I showed him a picture of Kaen, and he said that no one like him had come through his checkpoint." Mecheal explained.
"I think I met him a couple times." Tsuki said.
"Anyway. With King Yemma affirming that Kaen's soul hadn't passed through, that only leaves a single plausible theory." Mecheal stated.
"He's still alive, but somewhere else." Athena said.
"Exactly." Mecheal said. "An' I can guarantee you, he will make his way back to his loved ones, one way or another."
"Problem is, he's not gonna be happy when he hears about what happened to Eri." Tsuki said.
"Mom, you said dad's name as soon as you woke up. What does he have to do with this?" Mina inquired.
"He's working with Overhaul. An' what's more, he's allowed himself to be turned into some sort of monster." Tsuki said. "He kidnapped Eri, to bring her back to the hell you and Kaen rescued her from."
~Kaen~
"So tell me boy. It was kinda gutsy to straight up lie to a Destroyer God like that." Beerus said, stopping Kaen as he was in the middle of taking a bite.
"I knew you weren't stupid, so I figured it was only a matter of time before you figured it out." Kaen said putting his food down.
"I'm glad to hear you don't think so little of me." Beerus said. "So what made you lie?"
"Honestly? It was a bit of a spur of the moment kind of thing." Kaen said. "I saw the Prince about to run in, and I have a bit of a soft spot for kids, and my body just sort of moved on its own."
"Ah, so it was an impulsive maternal instinct." Whis said. "I take it that means you've got children of your own?"
"One, a daughter. She's probably worried sick about me by now." Kaen sighed.
"A moment." Beerus said, as the pillow was brought out. Getting up off his seat, Beerus removed his pillow and replaced it with his requested one, before looking at Kaen. "Stand up."
Kaen did so, before Whis took the pillow from Beerus and put it on the Saiyan's seat. Putting his hands on Kaen's shoulders, Whis pushed Kaen back onto his seat, and the Saiyan was surprised.
"Oh. That is comfy." Kaen said. "An' it's so big it could be a beanbag chair."
"Incredible right?" Beerus smiled. "I don't know why, but I've taken quite a liking to you boy."
"I'm honored sir." Kaen smiled.
"Now, I would like to hear about where, you're actually from, because it's clear to me you have zero clue on Saiyan culture here." Beerus said.
"Well, it's a bit complicated, but I was born on Planet Vegeta. However I was raised from a week old, to my current age, on Earth."
"Alpha or Omega?" Beerus asked.
"Alpha."
"Whis, remind me hasn't that planet's population developed some form of super power?" Beerus asked.
"Yes My Lord, I believe the inhabitants of Earth Alpha, have biologically developed abilities, known as Quirks." Whis said.
"About 80% of the population have a Quirk now these days." Kaen said, holding up his hand and allowing for Beerus to see the lightning of One-for-All dancing around his hand. "Even I have one."
"But if you weren't born to a human there, how do you have a Quirk?" Beerus inquired.
"It's complicated. But the Quirk I have, is able to be passed down from one person to another. My Quirk is the crystallization of accumulated power that's been passed down through all who've come before me." Kaen stated.
"I see." Beerus said. "But there's still something you're hiding from us, isn't there?"
"Well… I do suffer from, D.I.D." Kaen said. "It's not the normal kind either. I absorbed my brother in the womb, and now he lives within my soul."
"I can easily remedy that." Whis smiled.
"No wait…" Kaen tried, but was stopped when Whis held his staff over his head, and pulled out Pinach's soul, and sealed it within his staff.
"There we go." Whis said. "Though you don't seem too happy about it."
"Because I'm not. Pinach was my best friend, someone I could turn to when I was in distress. I promised him that I would never abandon him, not again." Kaen said.
"I'm terribly sorry. If I could put him back, I would. But I'm afraid, doing so might kill you." Whis said. "This is the best I can do."
Using his staff, Whis put Pinach's soul into a gold trimmed pendent, before giving it to Kaen.
"There, now you can always keep him close. An' I assure you, he won't be lonely in there." Whis said.
"Thanks." Kaen said, accepting the pendant.
"Well, as much fun as this has been, I do believe it's time we were on our way." Beerus yawned. "Whis."
"Right away my Lord." Whis said.
"Take care young Saiyan. Keep the second best pillow." Beerus said, taking the first best.
"Thank you Lord Beerus." Kaen said.
"Let's go Whis."
"Take care young warrior. I have a feeling you'll do great things." Whis said.
The moment Whis and Beerus were gone, Kaen sighed in relief before he was on guard, as several of the royal guards, surrounded him.
"You've got some nerve making me look like a fool." King Vegeta stated, coming towards Kaen. "But I suppose if Lord Beerus of all people finds your company enjoyable, I won't execute you, I'll just keep you locked away in the dungeons, and bring you out whenever he appears."
"You can't be serious. I just saved the planet from total destruction." Kaen said, as he was restrained.
"An' Lord Beerus saw right through your ruse. Yet he still took part and spared us. Which means you have some power over him, that I don't." King Vegeta said.
"You know I heard a lot of great things about you King Vegeta. But you know, you're nothing more then a petty coward." Kaen growled.
"Hold your tongue, or I will execute you." King Vegeta stated.
"Trial by Combat." Kaen stated.
"What did you just say?" King Vegeta inquired.
"I demand a Trial by Combat. 1-v-5." Kaen said as he was released.
"Trial by Combat hasn't been issued in decades. I'm surprised someone as young as you knows of such a thing." King Vegeta said. "Very well. I'll have the arena prepared for a fight tonight. An' as a courtesy to you for convincing Lord Beerus to spare our world. I'll allow you to write up the contract, and to choose your opponents."
"Then allow me to declare my final opponent after the others!" Kaen stated. "You King Vegeta."
"An' you wish to fight me last? Are you sure boy?"
"You know what they say, always save the best, for last." Kaen said.
"Very well. Then if you don't mind, I'll choose the other four opponents you'll be facing."
"So long as Callio isn't one of them." Kaen said.
"If you say so. I'll be sure to send flowers to your funeral." King Vegeta stated. "Take him to one of the training rooms. I wanna at least give him a fighting chance at his trial."
Without resisting, Kaen allowed himself to be taken to one of the training rooms, where he was kept under strict watch, and his training would often get interrupted. But there was one thing he knew, he wasn't gonna just lay down and die. He was gonna find a way back to Earth Alpha, even if he had to go stow away on his mother's ship when she escaped.
~Beerus and Whis~
"Well that was certainly different My Lord." Whis said.
"What are you talking about?" Beerus questioned.
"Oh nothing, it's just I've never seen you take such an interest in a mortal like that before." Whis said.
"Don't try to make me let me guard down Whis. You and I both felt the power that Saiyan holds deep within." Beerus said.
"Indeed. It's troubling, but it doesn't seem like he's aware of what that power truly is." Whis said.
"Not to mention, his presence felt misplaced, and yet at the same time required somehow." Beerus stated.
"Do you think the Supreme Kai of time is behind this somehow?" Whis inquired.
"Who's to say what that crazy witch is thinking. All I know is, it's not my problem." Beerus said with a yawn.
"If you say so My Lord." Whis said, but still couldn't help feeling something was off.
~Present Day~
"Coming." Mina said, as there was a knock at the door.
Opening the front entrance, Mina smiled when she saw several of her classmates standing there. The students included Yang, Iida, Tsu, Izumi, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, even though she was slightly injured from the events at the camp; Kirishima, Todoroki, Kaminari, Shoji, Toru, and Ojiro.
"Welcome, please come in. We've got a lot to discuss." Mina said.
"What's this about?" Izumi inquired.
"First off, I'm happy to see that you're all doing better." Mina stated. "Secondly, I called you all here, because I think I might know of a way to get Katsumi back from the villains."
"Shouldn't we just leave that to the heroes?" Tsu asked.
"Normally we would." Mina said. "But there won't be any fighting involved, so we should be fine."
"How exactly are you gonna find the League's base though?" Uraraka asked.
"Yaomomo had some one from Class-B use their Quirk to weld a tracking device to the Nomu that was there." Mina said, looking to Momo. "If you can make another receiver, like you did for the police, then we can find where they're hiding Bakugo."
"I don't know Ashido." Momo said. "I don't really want to get too involved."
"Look Momo, you don't have to actually get involved. My Ki tracking skills aren't as great as Kaen's, so I can't use that to locate Bakugo. All you'd really need to do, is provide us with a receiver, and your part will be done. We won't ask you to risk your future anymore then that." Mina stated.
Momo looked at Mina, and could see the drive in her eyes.
"I'll need a bit of time to think about it." Momo said.
"Well while you're doing that, I'm in." Yang said. "No offense, but Katsumi's the only girl in class, I actually click with."
"I'm in too." Kirishima added. "An' we'll do it to avenge Kaen. We might not fight, but we will…"
"Actually, Kaen's still alive." Mina said.
There was a moment of silence, before Izumi decided to break it, and speak up.
"What?"
"Athena. You're up." Mina said, calling to the Saiyan girl.
"Alright, let me explain this to you simply. Hearing it the first time, can be a bit confusing." Athena said, wheeling in a white board. "Kaen might have appeared to be vaporized in the training camp after his battle with Akuma. But there was one thing my big brother wasn't expecting when he tried to kill my twin." She began, drawing Akuma and Kaens faces on the white board, before drawing an octagon under Kaen's head. "He was wearing a device I imbued with a Quirk, similar to the pregnancy collars Mina, Yang, Tsu, and Toru are all wearing right now. Only thing is, the device was made with actual circuitry to allow whoever uses it, control on where they go. In the battle, it got damaged, and when their final attacks collided and mixed with the power within the broken device…"
"Then Kaen wasn't killed, he was just teleported somewhere." Kirishima said.
"But where is he?" Iida inquired.
"That we're not sure of. But what we do know, is he's probably trying to make his way back to us as we speak." Mina said.
"Back to the topic at hand." Iida said. "If you're certain that fighting won't happen, then I'm gonna come with you. But the moment I think things have gone south, we are out of there, and I don't care if I have to drag you out myself."
"I'm coming to." Midoriya said.
"I'm sorry, but you can count the rest of us out." Tsu said. "We don't wanna get involved, and if we get caught we could be expelled from the school."
"It's fine. I honestly wasn't expecting any of you to volunteer to help." Mina stated.
"Hearing what you said about Kaen, I've thought about the situation, and he'd do anything to save a classmate." Momo said. "So, I'll join you."
"Don't count me out just yet." Todoroki said. "I'm coming to."
"Yeah, and once Kaen gets back, we of his harem, should welcome him back properly." Yang smirked with a sultry glint in her eye.
"We can talk about that later." Mina said. "Right now. We need to establish roles for who's going, and who's gonna stay behind as our tech support."
"Like in an actual agency?" Kirishima asked.
"Exactly." Athena said. "I'll explain it in detail later, but Kaen and I had always planned on opening an agency together, sort of a family business."
"Similar to the Iida Family Agency." Iida said.
"Right. So I've been studying to manage the business and handle the equipment, that's one of the reasons I'm in the Support Course. Plus, I'm not as athletic or much of a fighter like him." Athena said.
"Especially now with that baby bump you've got." Toru said. "Who's the father?"
"Does she not know?" Athena asked.
"No, she's oblivious to the truth." Mina sighed. "Athena isn't gonna be a mother, she's a surrogate for a woman who was pregnant, but had cancer and needed treatment."
"Don't ask, I used a Quirk that allowed for transferring a pregnancy from one woman to another. It's actually the same Quirk I used to make the Pregnancy chokers and arm bands." Athena stated. "Now, without further delays, those who aren't staying to help, I'll kindly ask you to leave, and you can take some snacks home with you as you head out."
Those who weren't going to help, left understanding why they had to as Athena and Mina didn't want their plans to be heard. Those who remained, Kirishima, Todoroki, Izumi, Iida, and Momo, all sat on the couch, ready to listen to what their plan was.
"Now, operation Katsumi Rescue, is a go." Mina stated with a smile.
