UA's Saiyan Heroes
"The coordinates indicate Kamino Ward, Yokohama City, in Kanagawa Prefecture." Momo explained. "Our travel time will be about two hours from here. We should arrive around ten o'clock tonight."
Izumi turning to look at Todoroki. "So, did you tell the rest of the class about this, do they know what we're doing tonight?"
"Yes, and they tried their best to talk us out of it." Todoroki said.
"Yeah, even Uraraka ganged up on us and tried to get us to change our minds." Yang said.
"Honestly I'm still kinda uneasy about doing this myself. We're breaking the law, and saying from a logical standpoint, the truth needs to be spoken. Rescuing Katsumi without having to get physical with some resistance from the villains is implausible. We're gonna have to use our Quirks either way." Momo exclaimed.
"An' if that happens, I'm dragging us all out of there at the first sign of trouble." Iida said.
"Understood." Mina smiled. "But I have a feeling we should be prepared for anything."
"Just to make sure." Todoroki said. "You know we're heading out, and going against everyone's wishes, and being completely selfish by doing this. We can call this off if you want to."
"Does it look like I wanna turn back?" Mina and Yang asked at the same time.
"Alright that's enough yelling you two." Athena's voice came over the Scouters they all wore.
"Remind me why I had to stay behind again?" Kirishima asked, his voice coming through the Scouters as well.
"Protection for Athena." Mina said. "In the state she's in, she can't afford to risk a fight and lose her clients babies. So you're there to make sure that doesn't happen."
"Bakugo wouldn't think twice about going after the villains if she were here." Yang stated.
"Besides, meddling where you don't technically have to, is the essence of being a hero, Kaen told me that once. I refuse to turn back." Mina stated.
"I see. All right then." Todoroki acknowledged.
Upon reaching Kanagawa Prefecture, the six of them were walking around the streets, trying to make sense of their location.
"So this is Kamino Ward." Izumi said. "I've never actually been here before."
"It's so crowded." Todoroki added.
"Those villains are hiding somewhere in this city." Yang declared. "Just tell me where to go."
"Wait a second." Momo called as Yang began to run off. "From now on, we're going to need to be extremely careful. These criminals already know what we look like, remember? We have to consider that we could be attacked at any moment."
"Yeah you're right. Stealth mode." Izumi said crossing her arms over her face.
"You're standing out even more Midoriya." Todoroki said.
"We won't be able to scout effectively if we're recognizable." Iida said.
"Kay, so what should we do?" Yang asked.
"Well, I do have an idea on how we could… get some disguises." Momo said, looking a bit embarrassed as she pointed to the Dirt-Cheap Donki Oote store.
Inside, they each chose new attire for themselves. Yang chose a pair of black dress pants, with a ruby red dress shirt that emphasized her chest with the top three buttons undone, showing a good portion of her cleavage, with a matching black blazer, her hair combed back into a ponytail and scarlet red, with a small braid on the side with a pair of sunglasses, a fake gold chain necklace visible in the unbuttoned chest area, with a matching bracelet on her right wrist and a gold Rolex on her left wrist, courtesy of Mina's deep pockets.
"Alright, it's gonna be a wild night, party people." She said, using her undercover persona.
"Is she wearing a bra under that shirt?" Momo asked.
"Nope, she's wearing nothing at all under that shirt." Mina said.
Todoroki was dressed in black dress pants with a matching chest, a light blue dress shirt, and a fake gold chain necklace, with a black wig on his head, some of his white bangs visible in the front.
"This is me. Incognito." Todoroki said.
Momo wore a pink dress with a purse, sun glasses, and a fake gold and jeweled necklace around her neck. Her hair was done up all fancy with the bandage on her forehead cleverly covered.
"Now we'll blend in perfectly." She said, holding up a bottle of hairspray.
Iida wore a pair of black pants with yellow and red suspenders, a white dress shirt, a fake mustache, a bow tie, and his hair slicked back while his glasses were nowhere to be seen.
"I feel so ridiculous." Iida said fidgeting with the bow tie.
Izumi wore a slim, red open leg dress, with her messy hair combed down, and a purse in her hand.
"I actually kinda like it." Mina smiled, opening her curtain.
Mina came out, dressed in a pair of icy blue dress pants, with a matching suit jacket, and a white dress shirt under it, wearing a pair of blue tinted sunglasses, and five golden ring bracelets on each of her forearms, with her hair down. Her skin was a light tan color, with her hair now a royal blue color, and her eyes were pink with white sclera. "Honestly, this is quite a smart idea. We won't be recognized by villains now. Unless Akuma is there, and if that's the case, forget the disguises, he'd recognize our Ki in a heartbeat and end us there without a second thought."
"Whoa, what'd you do to your hair and skin?" Izumi asked.
"One of the Quirks Athena gave me before the Disney trip, was a camouflage Quirk. It allows me to change the color of any part of my body. After some experimenting, I learned I could do it to anything I touched too."
"Which is what she did with my hair." Yang stated.
"Enough with the shopping spree, you're wasting time." Athena said over the communications piece.
"Great disguises." Momo said, sounding rather proud of herself. "We'd stand out in this district dressed like kids."
"Yaoyorozu, couldn't you have used your Quirk for this to save money?" Todoroki questioned.
"Well technically, but that's against the rules. If I started making everything, think of the impact on the economy. We must ensure the flow of comers. That's right, it's out civic duty, as citizens." Yaoyorozu said.
"I just wanted to go shopping for a cleaver disguise." Mina said.
"Same." Izumi and Yang added, both raising their hands.
"At least they're honest." Todoroki sighed.
"Everyone, our destination is this way." Yaoyorozu said directing them to follow her down the street.
"Whoa it's U.A High." Someone said, directing all their attention towards the crowd gathered around a large television on the side of the building. There on the screen, bowing to the cameras were Eraserhead, Nezu, and Vlad.
"Let's ignore it." Yang said. "It's a Press Conference about U.A, and we don't have time for it."
"You're right." Todoroki said as they walked away, following Yaoyorozu who held the tracker, all while Mina was swallowing her pride and trying to ignore the insults that were being thrown at the U.A Faculty, which was really pissing her off.
"Don't let their words get to you." Kirishima said through the Scouter Earpiece. "The Media is just trying to villainize the faculty at U.A, and gain a bigger reputation if they succeed."
"I know." Mina sighed, annoyed that she couldn't do anything about it.
A short while later, as they continued on, the streets became less and less busy, with the traffic growing lighter and lighter. They'd entered the warehouse area of the shopping district, where the goods for other shops were being kept, before they stopped at a building.
"Okay, this is the spot where the tracker is broadcasting from." Yaoyorozu said.
"So that's their hideout? Not a bad one I guess." Yang said.
"Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't." Momo stated.
"If it isn't, it's most likely the place where they create the Nomu." Izumi said.
"According to the tracking history, the villain hasn't left this location for the past day, but that's all we know." Momo exclaimed. "One villain is hiding here, but that could be it. They could have Bakugo somewhere else. We're going into this operation completely blind for the most part. Please try to proceed logically."
"I don't like this. None of us are good at sneaking around. We need Hagakure of Jiro here." Iida said. "If I think things are gonna be the least bit dangerous, we're done. I won't hesitate to call the police either. To make sure my friends are safe."
"Thank you, Iida." Mina said. "So what can we do with what's in front of us?"
~Kaen~
"Alright, the fight's about to begin." Kaen sighed, walking through a tunnel under the coliseum. "I'm pretty sure King Vegeta won't keep his word, and will still have Callio fight. Pain in my ass."
"I see you're in a bit of a bind."
Kaen jumped and turned around, to see Whis standing there with an amused smile.
"Whis? What are you doing here? Is Lord Beerus here?" Kaen inquired.
"No, my Lord is back on his planet sleeping." Whis said. "I'm simply here to talk to you myself, but you seem to be in a bit of trouble."
"I invoked the Trial by Combat. King Vegeta didn't like what I did to step in, and he was gonna lock me up for it. He wanted to execute me, but thought that Lord Beerus would be angered by that, so the compromise was he was gonna keep me locked up, and well taken care of."
"I don't see what the problem is then, if you were gonna live in the lap of luxury." Whis said.
"I don't wanna be a prisoner. I wanna be free." Kaen said. "I don't belong here on Planet Vegeta."
"Oh I'm well aware of that fact, time traveler." Whis said with a smirk.
"I honestly don't know why I'm surprised you know." Kaen sighed.
"See, here's the issue though." Whis said. "This sort of time travel, isn't part of any mortal plan, this time travel you've inadvertently taken part of, is a Temporal Causality Loop. It was by divine will and a grand design that you were sent to this point in time, however it does not mean, this is where your story ends. Anything you do here in this time period, has already happened, you don't change anything that hasn't already been done along the main timeline."
"So I'm meant to fight King Vegeta and the other four?" Kaen asked.
"Oh-ho, so you're fighting the King Himself?" Whis chuckled.
"I am, he's the fifth one I'll be fighting." Kaen said. "Why, what's so amusing about it?"
"It's just, you don't truly understand the rules of Trial by Combat in Saiyan Culture, do you?" Whis asked.
"Not really. What's the big deal?" Kaen inquired.
"Oh dear, looks like I'll have to give you a brief education." Whis sighed. "When declaring Trial by Combat, the winner receives the losers title. Say for example, if you were a lowly merchant, and you fought against a Five Star General in a Trial of Combat, and won, you'd take his rank and status, as well as his honor. Killing is optional, but not once in five hundred years, has a Saiyan spared the life of his opponent in the Trial of Combat."
"Wait, are you saying that if I win, if I defeat King Vegeta, I become King?" Kaen asked.
"That is exactly what I'm saying." Whis smiled. "If you don't wish to receive the title of King, you could simply just let King Vegeta win, but would result in him simply killing you, and would render the Causality Loop to be inert."
"Oh just great, I've already achieved the title of Kaioh Emperor, now I might become King of the Saiyans?" Kaen questioned.
"Either way, I am here mainly to tell you I can send you back to your own time." Whis said. "Though, I cannot do so just yet, as that would interfere with the Causality Loop."
"So how long until I can return?" Kaen asked.
"Well, I can send you back to your own period of time, but the time you return at, won't be when you left. It will be a few days after. While you may spend weeks here, you will only have been gone from your time for a few days." Whis said. "Normally, time travel doesn't work this way, it usually causes a second timeline to branch off from the main timeline, like a tree branch budding from another branch, I believe this is known as the Multiverse Theory. However, Causality Loops are the rare exceptions to this law of time travel, as they are required in certain periods of the timeline."
"Then how man days do I have left of this Causality Loop?" Kaen inquired.
"I am not certain, but I do know it is sometime within the next week." Whis said.
"Alright. I think I can handle that."
"Now, I'll return when it is time to return you to your time period, but until then, you can do what you please as it will not mess with the timeline. As I mentioned, anything you do, has already happened, and the Causality Loop will not alter its flow in time." Whis smiled. "Though right now, I do believe you are needed in the arena."
"Right." Kaen sighed. "Wish me luck."
"I'm sure you won't need it."
Turning away from Whis, Kaen was once again facing the exit to the tunnel, before stepping out into the torchlight lit arena with the starry night sky above the battle ground. Standing in front of him, were five Saiyans, one of them was King Vegeta, with a cloak encasing his entire body, like he was trying to hide something from Kaen; another was the Saiyan he'd bumped into and knocked on his ass earlier, while three of them were Saiyans he didn't recognize. But all five of them, were wearing Frieza Force Scouters.
"My people." King Vegeta called. "This lowly outsider, dared to intrude on my meeting with Lord Beerus earlier today. He callously lied to the Destroyers face, and risked the lives of our race on that lie. To face trial for this crime, the outsider has called for a Trial of Combat. Now witness, as we put this lowly worm in his place."
King Vegeta grabbed his cloak and threw it off himself, revealing the black and silver battle armor he wore underneath.
'He's still wearing his royal ring. The crest that show's who is the current King in the Saiyan Royal Bloodline.' Kaen thought. 'He's sure feeling confident if he's wearing it to battle.'
Grabbing at his waistband, Kaen removed the top half of his costume, and unfurling his shield with the blades sticking out, Kaen embedded the weapon into the wall, with the top hanging off it like it was a coat hanger.
"Shall we get started?" Kaen questioned, looking back at the four Saiyans.
"Let the Trial by Combat, commence." King Vegeta cried out, launching a Ki blast into the air.
The moment the Ki blast went off, King Vegeta smirked as his four men rushed him.
'These are four of my strongest warriors. I might be a Saiyan, but I'm a Saiyan of my word, and left Callio out of the battle. I hate admitting it, but that low born filth has power on par with mine, so it would make sense that he'd want to avoid fighting two strong opponents. But fighting these four should give me a feel for how strong he truly…'
Before King Vegeta could finish his mental analysis, his eyes widened when Kaen simply walked past the four charging Saiyans in a calming fashion, before the four of them fell to the ground unconscious.
"What… what did you do?" King Vegeta questioned.
"I struck each of them in the Vagus Nerve." Kaen said, rotating his shoulders as if trying to loosen a stiffness in his joints. "Not enough to kill them mind you, just enough to knock them out. Unlike the rest of my people, I'm not a cold hearted killer. Those four probably have families they wish to return to, so I let them live. Though one of them I've beaten twice now, since it was that fight with him that got me arrested in the first place."
"You cocky arrogant bastard." King Vegeta growled.
"Hey, I am a Saiyan after all. Pot, meet kettle." Kaen smirked. "Now, shall we get down to business?"
(Cue Music… Thunder: Imagine Dragons)
King Vegeta's eyes widened in anger, before he went charging straight at Kaen. The teen Saiyan had to keep on his toes with King Vegeta, he was far stronger then the four he just knocked out and wouldn't go down so easily.
'His speed is faster then the others, faster then any villain's I've faced off again.' Kaen thought as he slammed a knee into King Vegeta's sternum. 'Which means Celeron isn't as powerful as he thinks.'
"You little worm." King Vegeta growled.
Jumping back as King Vegeta swung at him, Kaen threw a Ki blast as the Saiyan Overlord, with the attack hitting the ground at the King's feet, building up a cloud of dust. Taking to the sky, Kaen cried out as he let loose a bombardment of rapid fire Ki blasts, destroying the surrounding battle field.
"That didn't do the job. But it did slow him down." Kaen huffed. "Damn it, I'm not used to fighting at gravity ten times stronger then my body can safely handle."
"Then allow me to put you out of your misery." King Vegeta declared.
Turning around, Kaen saw King Vegeta above him, preparing an attack that would not doubt destroy part of the battlefield, and the spectators bellow.
"Galick…"
"No, you wouldn't. You'll destroy your own planet and kill your own people." Kaen called to him.
"GUN." King Vegeta cried out, sending the attack at him.
"Guess I don't have a choice." Kaen said, landing on the ground and taking a widened stance, with his hands cupped at his side. "I haven't mastered this technique yet, but I'm not gonna let him destroy his own home." He declared, his Ki powering up his attack. "Kame-hame-HAAAA." He cried out, sending the attack upwards, making it collide with King Vegeta's.
"You think you can match me in a battle of power? Think again you lowly peasant." King Vegeta declared, pressing his attack harder.
"I don't care if I'm stronger then you." Kaen growled, surprising King Vegeta. "But if I don't stop this attack, the planet, and everyone on it will die and be obliterated. I will not let that happen. A True Hero, will always find a way for justice to be served."
Pressing harder with his own attack, and taking advantage of the King's confusion, Kaen pushed back against the royal attack as he coursed One-for-All, through his entire body and strengthening his attack.
"The power I wield, the power of One-for-All, is a power designed to protect those a hero has sword his life to protecting." Kaen stated. "You fight me to prove your strength is superior, but you're nothing more then a tyrant."
"Why you little…" King Vegeta glared.
"With this power, I will defeat you." Kaen declared, as his attack consumed King Vegeta's.
The King managed to dodge the attack at the last second, following Kaen's attack as it soared through the air and exploded like a firework, before looking down, his eyes widening as Kaen was instantly on him, in such little time.
"Detroit…"
"I'm not gonna be able to dodge in time." King Vegeta gasped before Kaen's fist buried itself into his stomach.
"SMASH." Kaen called out, spinning around with the momentum, and dive bombing the ground. The impact made, caused a mini tornado to form as dirt and debri flew around everywhere.
(End Song…)
When the dust settled, Kaen was standing over King Vegeta, his right arm raised in victory and breathing heavily as the crowd gasped, seeing his back looking like the face of a Demon. His left foot was on King Vegeta's chest, with the now dethroned king struggling to simply breathe and stay conscious.
"This trial is over." Kaen declared. "I have won."
All the Saiyans in the crowd were shocked in silence, before they all cheered for his victory.
Removing his foot, Kaen stepped back to allow the former King Vegeta, to get to his feet, and look at the Saiyan teen.
"You fought with conviction and honor, and you showed your Pride as a Saiyan, the only way you knew how." Vegeta sighed. "Though it pains me to admit it, I have lost this battle, therefore I pledge myself in servitude to you, My King." He declared, taking a knee and holding the royal ring out to Kaen.
Kaen just looked at the ring, before he took the piece of jewelry and placed it on the middle finger of his right hand. Raising his fist again, Kaen was cheered and hailed as the new King of Planet Vegeta.
~Present Day~
Everything was quiet as the group of students were by the vending machines out in front of the gates. Mina made it look like she was having a hard with choosing what to get, but in reality, she was actually scoping out the place as best she could without blowing their cover.
"We've gotten pretty close, but I haven't seen anything move inside." Momo exclaimed.
"Not to mention there aren't any lights on either." Todoroki stated.
"It doesn't look like anyone's home." Yang added.
"They're hiding this lair in plain sight. It looks like any other abandoned warehouse." Todoroki exclaimed.
"The weeds under the front door are thick, and undisturbed." Mina stated. "I think they might have been using Kurogiri as a means for traveling in and out of the building. Though, we can't just enter carelessly, it could be a trap, if we could just see inside somehow…"
"Hey, you looking for a real man darlings?" A drunk man asked, flirting with the three girls.
"I'm good." Momo said, a bit panicked.
"Don't be like that. Why don't you lovely ladies ditch these losers and come drink with us?" The shorter drunk man said, before his friend smacked him upside the head.
"C'mon don't go picking fights." His friend exclaimed.
"Get lost scumbag." Yang shouted, getting back into her character.
"Like women as refined as us would ever fool around with trash like you." Mina said. "Besides, I'm not sure my boyfriend would appreciate you hitting on me."
"Let's get out of here." Todoroki said, before the others followed, leaving the drunkards to do as they please. "It's not crowded, but there are people around." Todoroki stated when they were all gathered around the corner.
"We can't draw attention to ourselves." Momo added. "So what's our next move?"
"If we go around the back, we might be able to find a window to look through if we do." Izumi suggested. "It might be the best chance we've got so we can get some solid intel on this place."
"Either way that's our best bet for gathering intel on this location." Izumi stated.
The group traveled through the crack between the wall of the building, and the wall of the properties.
"This is so narrow. I might get stuck." Momo said.
"Just keep moving we have to figure out what's going on inside. No one will be able to see us from back here." Izumi said before spotting a window. "There we should be able to get a look through that window."
"We'll be blind in the darkness." Todoroki said.
"One second, I'll make a night vision scope." Momo stated.
"Wait, no need. I actually brought one along with me for this." Yang stated.
"Wait, seriously? But aren't those models like, stupid expensive?" Izumi asked.
"When I thought about what we'd have to do, I thought we might need it." Yang explained. "Besides, money is no object for me when you have genius scientist parent on I-Island."
"Right, then Yang and Izumi will serve as our scouts." Todoroki stated.
About two minutes later, Izumi was standing on Todoroki's shoulders, and Yang was on Iida's.
"Don't lean forward too much, we may have to run at a moment's notice." Iida exclaimed.
"Hold steady." Izumi stated.
"Iida can you move back a bit?" Yang inquired, before she and Izumi began looking through the barred window of the building.
"Tell us what you see inside. Quickly, and be quiet."
"Yeah, yeah. We know already." Izumi said focusing her sights inside the building.
"Place is pretty trashed. Doesn't look like…" Yang began but stopped.
Yang had stopped talking as both she and Izumi froze up, seeing what was being manufactured inside of the building, before they both pushed back on instinct, causing Iida and Todoroki to lose their footing for a few seconds, before both girls landed on the ground with a thud.
"What's wrong you weren't spotted were you?" Todoroki questioned.
"This isn't where they're keeping Kacchan." Izumi stated.
"What are you talking about?" Momo asked.
"We had it all wrong. This building, isn't their hideout, it's a Nomu Factory. It's where the League of Villains, create those monsters." Yang said before loud sounds caught his attention and he looked. "Hey."
They all turned their heads and saw a giant foot, raising into the air, with a truck on it like Cinderella's glass slipper.
"Take cover now." Mina cried out as she and the others jumped for cover.
Just as they jumped down, to avoid the attack from Mt. Lady raising her leg all the way up into the air, she slammed her foot down in an axe kick, shattering that side of the building, a determined and angered look on her face.
"Alpha Team move in now." Best Jeanist called out as Mt. Lady grabbed as many Nomu as she could. "Restrain and secure all the Nomu."
Before long, the heroes had all the Nomu restrained and almost ready for transport, allowing for them to go searching through the destroyed building.
"We have control, the Nomu are neutralized." Best Jeanist said, tightening his bindings round the Nomu.
"Ew, these things are so gross." Mt. Lady whined. "Can't we just be done already?"
"Toughen up rookie. I understand these circumstances may not be ideal, but we have a job to do, and patience is the key here. We don't know if the League of Villains have any more recruits in the shadows, or Nomu in hiding." Gang Orca stated.
"Riot Squad, get the transports ready." Best Jeanist exclaimed. "There could be more of them, be on your guard."
"Yessir." One of the officers said as Tiger dug through the rubble, and pulled out a barely responsive Ragdoll.
"Ragdoll, speak to me. Please Ragdoll, look at me." Tiger said, holding her close. "Dear God what did they do to you?"
"I'm sorry Tiger." A robotic sounding voice said, as footsteps echoed from out of the ruins of the building, drawing their attentions inside. "But I'm afraid I just couldn't help myself. Her Quirk was too tempting to take for myself, so I did."
"Are you with the League?" Gang Orca questioned.
"Somebody get us a light." Tiger stated.
The figure that spoke stepped out of the shadows, as the light of the moon and streetlamps began to illuminate him.
"Stop right there. Don't move." Gang Orca stated.
The man took another step, before Best Jeanist, used his Quirk to bind him together, and keep him from taking another step.
Best Jeanist felt like he had the villain in his grasp, secured to where he wouldn't be able to do harm, before the figure's right arm expanded, and he escaped his bindings, sending that weaponized air pressure at the group of heroes, before a loud rumbling shook the earth and destroyed what remained of the building. The dust cleared, to show that his attack had created a massive groove within the ground, with Gang Orca, Mt. Lady, Tiger, and Best Jeanist laying in the midst of it, as the man in question who attacked them, slowly clapped his hands. Best Jeanist lay in the middle of the groove, his arm bleeding and his breaths ragged.
"I see why you're the #4-Hero, Best Jeanist." He said as he stopped clapping, while Best Jeanist just looked at him in shock and horror, as his full form was revealed as he floated just a foot off the ground. "That blast should have annihilated the lot of you. But you were able to manipulate everyone's clothing, and pull them out of the way, just in time." He said. "Quick thinking, consider me, impressed."
The view changed to All-for-One, wearing a black suit with a white collar shirt, with a breathing mask, with a rather skull like design with multiple breathing tubes, sprouting from the mask and connecting to him.
"It wasn't supposed to go like this." Best Jeanist said, using the remains of his suit to push himself up. "But that doesn't matter. A true hero doesn't believe in excuses." He shouted before sending an attack at All-for-One.
Before the hero could attack the villain, All-for-One sent another attack of weaponized air pressure at Best Jeanist, causing a hole to be punched into his stomach, as the ground beneath him shattered, and his blood spilt everywhere as the life began to drain from him.
"Now I see. Your strength comes from practice and experience, not raw power." All-for-One said, pointing a finger at the near dead hero. "I don't need your Quirk. It wouldn't pair well with Tomura's disposition."
Over behind what remained of the wall, the students were all frozen in fear. Izumi had managed to get a glimpse at All-for-One and instantly pulled herself back as she wasn't prepared to be spotted, by the Symbol of Evil. But their hiding spot was soon discovered, as Mina's fears came true.
"What brings you students here, so late at night?" Celeron's voice questioned.
Looking up, all the students gasped and jumped away from the villain, as he was looking down at them, from over the wall.
"Here for some revenge?" Akuma questioned with a smirk.
~Kaen: Days after the Fight~
"Thank you for your offering." Kaen said, sitting on the throne of the palace, looking at the long line of Saiyans, who were bringing him gifts, mainly food items, to congratulate him for becoming King. Kaen was dressed in his hero costume, but he now had the addition of the King's cloak, and the royal ring and crown upon his head. "Never was much for wearing crowns." He sighed.
"Nevertheless, you must wear it as a symbol of your position, when addressing the public." Vegeta said.
The former King had gone ahead and named himself, Advisor to the King, while Kaen himself was not all too thrilled about his new Kingly duties and responsibilities. However, he didn't have room to complain, so he just bit the bullet, and dealt with it while simultaneously accepting Vegeta's help.
"Next." Vegeta said.
To Kaen's surprise, the next in line were a Saiyan couple with a young boy, and the woman heavily pregnant, and she looked ready to pop as well. Kaen recognized them, from a photo Gine had of them, on the shrine she prayed to every morning.
"Ah, Callio and Elery. Here to greet the new King?" Vegeta questioned.
"We are. We don't have much, but we offer this humble gift." Callio said, with what Kaen could hear, was a hint of a Nordic accent.
"It won't be needed." Kaen said, holding up his hand.
"My King?" Elery asked. "If it is not to your liking then…"
"That is not the issue." Kaen said. "You are with child, and already have a little one to feed. I cannot take food from the mouths of those who need it more then I." He said. "That goes for all in line. Whoever cannot spare their rations, should not be here, and should keep it for themselves. The thought of your gifts is appreciated, but I do not wish to starve my own people."
The line began to murmur before Saiyans began to leave by the handful. At the end, the line was still pretty long, but had been shortened by a great deal. An' yet still standing in front of him, were his biological parents, though they did not know it yet.
"Please my King. You may not want to take our gift, but we humbly ask that you do, as we wish to pay our respects." Callio said.
"Father, don't waste your time with a sympathetic weakling of a King, let's just go home and eat." The child with them said.
"Hold your tongue child." Vegeta stated.
"Celeron, that is no way to speak to the King." Elery scolded, pulling his ear.
"Please your majesty, have mercy on the boy. He's just a child." Callio said, worriedly.
"My King." Vegeta began. "I suggest a strict punishment for the child. He may be young, but he is still a Saiyan who disrespected his King."
"I'm aware of what I must do." Kaen said, having memories of what Celeron hated the most back in their childhood, he already had a punishment planned out. "Celeron, you shall be on cleaning duty for the next week, and you shall not go on missions. Everyday, you will come to the palace, and clean the floors, walls, windows and ceiling, until you are instructed to go home."
"You can't be serious." Celeron grumbled. "I hate cleaning."
"Be thankful our New King is merciful boy." Callio scolded. "If it were King Vegeta you'd insulted, then the punishment would have been far worse."
"That being said. I do fancy myself in need of a good hunting trip. Callio, you wouldn't happen to know of some good hunting grounds, would you?"
"Uh… I do actually know of some good hunting grounds my King." Callio said.
"Very well." Kaen smiled, removing his cape and crown. "Vegeta, finish up the rest of my meetings for the day. I might be King, but I'm still only sixteen, I can't sit still for too long or I'm gonna go crazy. An' don't have any of the guards tail us, I'll be fine, and I doubt Callio will try anything."
"Very well sir." Vegeta said, taking the cape and grown.
"Callio, shall we?" Kaen asked as his feet left the ground.
"Of course." Callio said following suit.
"Feel free to take your family home first." Kaen said.
"We'll be fine. Your concern is appreciated though your Highness." Elery said.
"Alright, lead the way." Kaen smiled.
Leaving through the sky lighting, Kaen and Callio left the palace, and went out hunting for some fresh game.
~Later~
"Oh man, did you see the look that beast gave when it realized you weren't phased at all?" Kaen laughed, sitting around a camp fire with Callio to his right, laughing equally as hard.
"Oh, what about when the other beast bit down on you, but your skin shattered its teeth?" Callio laughed.
"That was pretty funny, the face it gave made it realize, it was screwed." Kaen said. "Oh man. I needed this. The past week it's been nothing but royal duties."
"I take it you're more used to serving a King, then being one then?" Callio asked.
"Something like that." Kaen smiled, leaning back on his log.
"I'm surprised I can be so…"
"Casual with me?"
"Exactly."
"Well to be honest, I'm not really the type who will abuse his power, or demand respect unless needed." Kaen sighed. "An' if I'm being honest, I kinda don't wanna be in this position of power anymore. It's too much of a hassle."
"Yeah I could imagine. But with great power…"
"Comes great responsibility." Kaen smiled. "A hero from a couple hundred years ago, back on the planet I grew up on, had that exact motto he lived by. An' I've taken to heart, all the great motto's that I learned from those that inspired me."
"You mean in your own time period?" Callio asked.
Kaen froze, and looked to Callio to see he had a raised brow, and looked at him like he was expecting an answer.
"I should have known you'd figure it out eventually." Kaen sighed.
"Of course I figured it out. I'm not stupid boy." Callio said. "Now who are you exactly?"
"I'm… your son." Kaen said. "I'm the older version, of the son, mom still carries inside her."
"I don't understand."
"Time travel."
"Ah fucking hell boy, do you realized the repercussions that this little trip of yours could cause?" Callio questioned.
"Pretty rude way to speak to your King."
"I'm speaking to my son right now. Not a King." Callio stated.
"Well, yelling at me won't do any good. My presence here won't have any adverse affects on the timeline. I'm in a Temporal Causality Loop, basically my trip here to the past, was required." Kaen explained. "An' everything I do, has already happened."
"I thought something was up when I got a good look at ya." Callio said. "You're the spitting image of your grandfather."
"Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult." Kaen said. "Aunt Gine told me how abusive a man he was."
"Take it however ya like." Callio said. "So, what happens in the future? An' don't lie to me, as you said anything you do has already happened, so you won't affect the timeline."
"You really wanna know?" Kaen inquired.
"Tell me."
"Well… the day after my sister and I are born, Frieza destroys the planet, and it doesn't help that his ship is up in our atmosphere." Kaen said. "These only ones to survive the destruction, that I know of, are Vegeta the Fourth and his entire squad, your nephew Kakarot, as well as me, Celeron, my sister, and Aunt Gine."
"I see." Callio said. "So what about your mother and I?"
"Originally, the plan was for you to join us on Earth Alpha." Kaen said. "But Frieza's men make sure to keep as many Saiyans on the planets surface as they can, which leaves you to fight them off as we're loading onto our escape ship, but mom stays behind to help you, and when we get to Earth Alpha, Aunt Gine raises us, like we were her own."
"At least your mother and I leave you in good hands." Callio said. "But what about Kakarot, wouldn't Gine go to his location?"
"That's what she wanted, but in your rush, you put in the coordinates to Earth Alpha, not Omega." Kaen said. "Though now thinking about it as I tell you this, you probably do it on purpose to keep the flow of the timeline the same."
"Probably." Callio chuckled. "So, any idea when you're to go back to your own time?"
"Whis will send me back when it's time. But right now, I'm needed here to complete the Causality Loop." Kaen stated.
Callio looks to Kaen, before he notices a hint of anguish in his eye.
"What's got you down boy?"
"It's just… I can't help but think what Mina and Eri are feeling right now, with me gone. They probably think I'm dead." Kaen said.
"A couple of lovers you've taken boy?" Callio questioned.
"One of them." Kaen snickered throwing some sticks onto the fire. "Eri is actually my daughter. I rescued her from someone who was nothing but abusive to her, used her for experiments that could kill her, and I took her in as my own."
"Given what I've seen, I'm not surprised you did that." Callio said, holding a skin flask to him. "Take a swig. It's the finest mead, the finest brewers on Vegeta can offer."
"Alcohol?" Kaen asked, taking the skin flask.
"I'd like to at least have one drink, with one of my sons before the planet is destroyed in two days." Callio said.
"Mom's due tomorrow?" Kaen asked.
"She was due last week, but you and your sister have been stubborn about coming out." Callio laughed.
"I hope she has a healthy delivery then." Kaen said, taking a swig of the mead, before cringing, and forcing himself not to spit it out.
"Aha. Not to your taste boyo?" Callio asked, smiling at his reaction.
"This is my first time drinking alcohol, and I do believe this is an acquired taste." Kaen said, handing the flask back to him.
"You'll get used to it, we've got a whole barrel of the mead to drink before nights end." Callio laughed.
"Callio."
The two Saiyans looked up to see Vegeta flying down, an urgent look on his face.
"What's the matter Vegeta?" Kaen asked, as Callio took a bite of roasting meat.
"It's Elery. Not long after you left, she went into labor." Vegeta said.
"What?" Callio questioned.
"The royal physicians helped her. She's safely given birth, but I had a hard time finding you due to the lack of a Scouter. I've been searching for hours." Vegeta stated.
Kaen and Callio looked to one another, their expressions saying what they were both thinking.
The Day of Planet Vegeta's destruction, was sooner then either of them thought.
Meanwhile, at the same time, a Saiyan pod with a crying infant inside flew over their heads, heading off into the distance to its destined planet of safety. The war against the Frieza Force, was about to begin.
