Two down, five to go. This time, it's Kalin vs Emily and Yusei. And, there's a twist at the end.
Chapter 9
A score to settle
Yusei and Emily drove towards the control tower that was represented by the giant. And, in front of it, was Kalin on his Duel Runner. The two then stopped and faced each other.
"It's so nice to see you again Yusei", said Kalin. "Oh, and what's this? Is she a new friend? You gonna throw her to wolves too? Hahahaha!".
"You're a sick man, Kalin Kessler", said Emily. "And Yusei told me about what happened. He was trying to help you".
"Well, with help like his, who needs help" said Kalin.
"Why don't we just duel?" Asked Yusei.
"I was hoping you'd say that", said Kalin. "I can't wait to wipe the floor with you and your little friend. Hahahahahaaaaaaa!". Lines of fire then appeared on the ground and formed the outline of Kalin's mark. Yusei then pressed a button on his dashboard and a sidecar appeared.
"Climb in" said Yusei. Emily then climbed in and put a spare helmet on. They then raced to see who got to go first, and Kalin won.

"Looks like the first move is mine" said Kalin as he drew the top card of his deck. "I summon, Infernity Necromancer in defence mode". His monster was a skeleton with green wearing purple Native American robes

'An 'Infernity' monster?', thought Emily. 'He must be planing something if he plans on having a zero hand strategy'.
"I'll place a card facedown and hand it over to you" said Kalin.
"Then it's my move" said Yusei as he drew the top card of his deck.

"I summon Max Warrior in attack mode" said Yusei. Yusei's new monster was an armoured monster that was primarily coloured green, brown and silver, had large shoulders and held a two pronged staff.

"Now, attack Infernity Necromancer" said Yusei.
"Man, you must've damaged your head when ya fell off your Duel Runner when I first duelled ya", said Kalin. "You know that that monster doesn't have enough power to defeat my Necromancer".
"That's where is special ability comes in", said Yusei. "When he attacks, he gain an extra 400 attack points".
Max Warrior
ATK: 1800 + 400 = 2200
"Now! Attack with Swift Rush!" Shouted Yusei. Max Warrior then began to violently thrust his staff forward and destroyed Infernity Necromancer".
"Alright!" Shouted Emily.
"Now, since he used his special ability", said Yusei. "He now loses half of his original attack and defence points, as well as half it's level".

"I'll set three cards facedown and end my turn" said Yusei.
"Then it's me move" said Emily drawing the top card of her deck.

"Since there are no monsters on my field, I can special summon Miseracheal directly from my hand" said Emily. Her monster then appeared on the field.
"That little sad fairy is your opening?", asked Kalin mockingly. "How pathetic".
"How's this for pathetic?", asked Emily. "I summon Knight Fairy in attack mode". Emily's new monster was a fairy dressed up as a knight.

"I now tune my level 3 Knight Fairy with my level 3 Miseracheal", said Emily performing the summon. "Wicked creature bathed in shadows, come forth and devour those who dare shine light upon you! I Synchro summon! Kawarino the Prince of Shadows!". Emily's new monster was a demon that was primarily coloured green and black, with hints of blue and pink. It had two orange tails and three horns on it's head.

"Quite impressive", said Kalin. "You got a synchro monster out before anybody else. But that doesn't mean you're gonna win. My move" Kalin then drew the top card of his deck.

"I'll start by activating the trap, limit impulse", said Kalin. "Now, all I have to do is send two cards from my hand to the graveyard and I can special summon two soul tokens".

"Uh oh" said Emily.
"Uh oh is right little girl", said Kalin. "Because, I now release these two tokens to advance summon, Dark Tuner Nightmare Hand". The two tokens disappeared and in their place was this weird humanoid thing that looked to be made of something that no one knew.

"Is this bad?" Asked Emily.
"Very bad" answered Yusei.
"You don't know the half of it", said Kalin. "When I summon this monster, I can special summon any level 2 or below monster from my hand. And I choose Infernity Dwarf!". Kalin's new monster was dwarf in overalls carrying an ax.

"Oh no", said Yusei. "His hand's empty".
"You got that right. Now it's time for my handless combo to take effect. I tune my level 10 Nightmare hand with my level 2 Infernity Dwarf to perform a dark synchro summon", said Kalin performing the summon. "When the shadows are devoured by even darker shadows the curtain pulls back and reveals a world without light. Now, it's time for your little friend to meet the instrument of her destruction. I summon! One Hundred Eyes Dragon!". Kalin's new monster was a black skinned dragon with eyes covering it's entire body.

"That's one of the ugliest dragons I've ever seen" said Emily.
"Aw, now that's not very nice", said Kalin. "And I was just about to tell you about his special ability. When he's on the field I can-".
"Access the effects of every dark monster in your graveyard", said Emily. "I heard all about it from Yusei".
"Hmph. Spoil my fun", said Kalin. "Now, attack Max Warrior! Infinity Sight Stream!". The dragon then fired a stream of purple energy at Max Warrior.
"I activate my trap card, Mystic Light shield", said Emily. "Whenever an attack deals 2000 or more points of damage, I can tribute the targeted monster and end the battle phase of this turn". Max Warrior then glowed yellow and turned into dust, which then turned into a shield and blocked the attack.
"Nice job Emily" said Yusei.
"Rrrrrrgh! You got lucky that time" said Kalin.
"Luck had nothing to do with it, I play the trap card, revival ticket", said Yusei. "Now, by getting rid of a card on my field, I can bring back a monster that was destroyed during the battle phase, and I choose Max Warrior". Max Warrior then reappeared on his field.
"And since the trap I destroyed was Limiter breaker, I can now summon another monster from my deck", said Yusei. "And I choose Speed Warrior". Speed Warrior then appeared on his field.
"I end my turn" said Kalin.
"Then it's my move" said Yusei drawing the top card of his deck.

"I activate the trap card, card of sacrifice", said Yusei. "When the total attack points of my warriors is less than your dragon, I get to draw two cards. Thing is, I can't summon or change the battle modes of any of my monsters this turn. Speaking of turns, I'll set two cards facedown and end my turn".
Then it's my move the", said Emily. 'Please be the card I need to get rid of that dragon'. She then drew the top card of her deck.

Emily then looked at the card she drew. 'Not the card I was hoping for', she thought. 'But I can make this work'.
"I summon Sugar Fairy in attack mode" said Emily. Her monster then appeared on her field.
"Aw, how cute", said Kalin mockingly. "But how do you expect a tiny little fairy like that to stop my One Hundred Eyes Dragon?".
"Who said I was done summoning yet?", asked Emily. "When I have a fairy monster on the field, I can summon Magnet Fairy from my hand". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"Next, I play the trap card, Fairy Summon Triangle", said Emily. "This card can only be activated when I control two or more Fairy monsters. This card then lets me summon another one from my deck. So, come on out Candy Pixy". He monster monster then appeared on her field.
"Next, I tune my level 2 Candy Pixy with my level 2 Magnet Fairy and level 3 Sugar Fairy", said Emily performing the summon. "I synchro summon, Sparda the Spider Woman". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"I'll place a card facedown and end my turn" said Emily.
"Then it's my move" said Kalin drawing the top card of his deck.

"I now activate my Dragon's special ability, which allows it to have access to the special abilities of every dark attribute monster in my graveyard", said Kalin. "And the monster I chose is, Infernity Necromancer. Now, I can special summon one level 4 or below 'Infernity' monster from my graveyard, and I choose Infernity Archfiend". Kalin's new monster was a demon with four eyes, purple hair and growths coming out of it's back.

"Now, One Hundred Eyes Dragon! Attack Yusei's Speed Warrior!" Shouted Kalin. One Hundred Eyes Dragon then fired an energy stream at Speed Warrior.
"I activate the effect of my facedown card, Slip Summon", said Yusei. "This card allows me to summon a monster directly from my hand. And I choose Ghost Gardna". Yusei's new monster was a ghost-like creature with think arms.

"And now for his special ability", said Yusei. "I can now make him the target of your attack".
"Too bad that's still not gonna save you", said Kalin. "I activate One Hundred Eyes Dragon's special ability, which allows it to use my Infernity Dwarf's special ability. So, when a monster of mine attacks a monster in defence mode, you are dealt the extra damage". One Hundred Eyes Dragon then destroyed Ghost Gardna.
Yusei: 4000 - 1100 = 2900

"Haha, guess he really was a ghost. He vanished into nothing", mocked Kalin. "Now, it's time for my Infernity Archfiend to-".
Infernity Archfiend
ATK: 1800 - 1000 = 800
"Huh, what happened?", asked Kalin. "Where'd my monster's attack points go?".
"They disappeared along with Ghost Gardna", said Yusei. "When he's destroyed by battle, a monster on your field looses 1000 attack points until the turn's over".
"Then I end my turn with a facedown" said Kalin.
"Yusei, I have a plan", whispered Emily. "But, I'm gonna need you to not attack this turn". Yusei was puzzled what is this girl planning".
"It's my move" said Yusei as he drew the top card of his deck.

"I summon, Junk Synchron" said Yusei. His monster then appeared on the field.
"And now, I tune my level 3 Junk Synchron with my level 2 Speed Warrior", said Yusei performing the summon. "I synchro summon! Junk Warrior! Let's rev it up!". Yusei's new monster was a robot-like creature decked out in a blue-purple armour with cream highlights and wore a white scarf around his neck.

"Well that was disappointing", said Kallin mockingly. "I thought you would've put up a better fight than this".
"You're facing me, Kalin" said Emily as she drew the top card of her deck.

"I play the speed spell, angel baton", said Emily. "As long as I have two or more speed counters, I can draw two cards from my deck. But, I must send one from my hand to my graveyard". She then sent of of the cards she just drew to the graveyard.
"Then comes Ember Sprite's ability", said Emily. "When it's sent from my hand to the graveyard by a card effect, I can special summon it from my graveyard". Emily's monster then appeared on her field.
"Next, I activate my Fairy Knight's effect from the graveyard", said Emily. "By banishing it, I can summon another fairy from my graveyard. Only downside is that the attack and defence points of the monster I chose are reduced to 0. So, come back Miseracheal!". Her monster then appeared on her field.
Miseracheal
ATK: 900 - 900 = 0
DEF: 100 - 100 = 0
"You got two monsters on your field practically for nothing, now that's what I call a 'Satellite Scrounge'", said Kalin. "But neither of your monsters are strong enough to beat me or my dragon".
"Who said I was done yet" said Emily, this caused Kalin to raise an eyebrow.
"I tune my level 2 Ember Sprite with my level 3 Miseracheal", said Emily performing the summon. "Vile wicked creature! Descend from the darkest night to deliver your message of doom! I synchro summon! Heraldemon of Dark Tomorrow!". Emily's new monster was an adult woman with short, dark green hair and grey skin and two different coloured eyes. She wore a short, black dress and had a single wing on her back. In her hand was a tiny wand.

"What's she gonna do? Read me a deep poem?" Asked Kalin.
"No, but her ability let's me return one special summoned monster from the field to the owner's deck, once per turn", said Emily. "So, say goodbye to your One Hundred Eyes Dragon".
"WHAT!" Shouted Kalin. Heraldemon then raised her wand and then fired an energy beam at One Hundred Eyes Dragon and it then disappeared.
"NO! MY STRATEGY!" Shouted Kalin.
"And now it's time for Kawarino's ability", said Emily. "Buy cutting his attack points in half, he can attack directly".
Kawarino the Prince of Shadows
ATK: 2500 - 1250 = 1250
"What!" Shouted Kalin.
"Go! Shredding Shadow Slash!" Shouted Emily. Emily's monster disappeared into the shadows, the reappeared beside Kalin and then slashed at him with his claws.
Kalin: 4000 - 1250 = 2750
"And, since I sent your dragon back to your deck", said Emily. "You can't use it to add your immortal to your hand".
"There's more than one way to skin a cat", said Kalin. "And while you're think stuff out, I play the trap card, Infernity force. Now, since I have no cards in my hand, I can destroy one monster on the field and special summon one of the same level from my graveyard. So, I'll destroy Yusei's Max Warrior and re-summon Infernity Necromancer". Max Warrior was then destroyed and Infernity Archfiend then reappeared on Kalin's field.
"That still won't stop me from attacking you" said Emily.
"Oh, but it will", said Kalin. "I activate the trap, Infernity Mine. I can only activate this card when I control two 'Infernity' monsters and I have no card in my hand. Thanks to this, I can destroy every monster on your field. And for each one, you'll suffer 300 points of damage". Emily's three monsters were destroyed.
Emily: 4000 - 900 = 3100
'Dang it', thought Emily. 'I thought I could finish Kalin before he summoned his Immortal. Okay, let's see. I got Special Gate, Negate Attack, Anti-Damage Shield, Speed Storm, Fast lane Tuning and Firecracker Fairy. Oh man, what do I do?'.
"Emily", said Yusei. "You need to stay calm and focus, you'll make mistakes when you aren't calm".
'Yusei's right', thought Emily. 'I need to stay calm and focus. And think things through. Hopefully this will work'.
"Whenever I take damage from an effect, I can summon this monster directly from my hand", said Emily. "Come out, Firecracker Fairy". Emily's new monster was a fairy with explosion patterned clothes and carried lots of Firecrackers.

"Next, I play the speed spell, Fast Lane Tuning", said Emily. "When I have four or more speed counters, I can special summon one tuner monster from my deck, but it's attack and defence points drop to 0. So, I choose Harle-Pixy". Emily's new monster was a fairy dressed in a harlequin outfit.

"So what's the point?", asked Kalin. "It's useless to you".
"Not exactly Kalin", said Yusei. "Didn't you hear what Emily said when she activate that speed spell? That monster's a Tuner".
"A TUNER!" Shouted Kalin.
"Indeed, and I tune level 4 Harle-Pixy with level 4 Firecracker Fairy", said Emily performing the summon. "Behold, as the shining stars shimmer to form a light in your heart! I synchro summon! Glitter Force Lucky Dragon!". Emily's ace monster then appeared on her field. Then, all of the signer's marks began to glow.
"I'll set two cards, and end my turn" said Emily.
"Then it's my move then" said Kalin drawing the top card of his deck.

SP: 7 + 1 = 8

SP: 8 + 1 = 9
Kalin then looked at the card he drew. He then began to cackle.
"I do not like that laugh" said Emily worryingly.
"You should be scared, little girl", said Kalin. "You went through all that trouble to send my dragon back to my deck. But, didn't you stop to think I might just add that card by simply drawing it? Hahahahahaaaaa!".
"Oh no" said Yusei.
"I sacrifice both Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer! to summon! EARTHBOUND IMMORTAL CCAPAC APU!". Kalin's two monsters then turned into balls of energy and shot up into the sky where they formed a stone heart. The heart started to beat and as it did, it began to absorb souls into it. When it had finished, a large creature emerged from the ground. It was a humanoid figure that was coloured charcoal black and had blue highlights on it.
Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu

"Oh my gosh" said Emily.
"Now! Ccapac Apu!", shouted Kalin. "Attack Junk Warrior! Continental Crush!". Ccapac Apu then brought it's right hand down and crushed Junk Warrior.
Yusei: 2900 - 700 = 2200
"And now for Ccapac Apu's special ability", said Kalin. "Whenever it destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal to the destroyed monster's attack points! Go! Aftermath Quake!". Ccapac Apu then brought down his hand and went straight for Yusei.
"I activate my Trap card, Damage shield", said Emily. "Now, whenever me or my partner takes damage from an effect, I can negate that damage and special summon a monster whose attack points are equal or less to the damage you were about to inflict. And I choose Posey Pixy!". Emily's new monster was a fairy with yellow hair wearing red robes and carried a large posey.

"Rrrrgh! I end my turn" said Kalin.
"Then it's my move" said Yusei drawing the top card of his deck.

"I'll pass there's nothing I can do" said Yusei.
"What?", asked Emily. "Why did you-".
"Emily", said Yusei. "I don't know why, but for some reason, I think you should finish this".
"Me?", asked Emily. "But what can I do?".
"A lot of things", answered Yusei. "I know you can do this. Just believe in yourself and your deck. Besides, I think the Crimson Dragon believes in you as well". Emily wasn't sure what he meant. She then looked at her deck and saw that the top card was glowing.
"Whoa" she whispered. She then noticed her mark fading and Yusei's faded as well.
"Huh, where did our marks go?" Asked Emily confused.
"They're on your back" answered Yusei. Emily then looked at her back and saw that all the marks had formed a dragon.
"Whoa, cool", said Emily. "Well then, let's not disappoint the Crimson Dragon. I DRAW!". She then drew the top card of her deck.

"I summon Majestic Dragon in attack mode" said Emily. Her new monster was a small, weird dragon that looked other worldly.

"Next, I tune my Level 1 Majestic Dragon with my Level 1 Posey Pixy and Level 8 Glitter Force Lucky Dragon" said Emily. Majestic dragon then began to grow in size until it engulfed both of Emily's monsters and a regular synchro summon then commence.
"Behold, as the twinkling stars of good fortune for a light of hope in your heart!", shouted Emily. "I synchro summon! MAJESTIC GLITTER DRAGON!". The Duel Runner then entered the light and they were now inside the dragon. Said Dragon was sleek in design with a slimmer head and body. It's horns were longer and it's nose was more rounded. It had four wings that looked to be made out of blade-like objects and the tail was much longer.
Majestic Glitter Dragon

"Ohohohohohoooo! This so coooool" said Emily all excitedly.
"This, this can't be" said Kalin.
"Oh it be", said Emily. "And here's something else for you to worry about. My dragon's special ability. When it attacks, it negates the special abilities of all of my opponent's monsters until the end of this turn! Go! Sparkle Shut Down!". Sparkles then descended from the dragon and cover Ccapac Apu as it groaned.
"Nice", said Yusei. "Care to do the honours?".
"Don't mind if I do", said Emily. "Majestic Glitter Dragon! Attack Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu! Sparkle Skydive!". Majestic Glitter Dragon then dove out of the sky with a trail of sparkles following it and shot straight through Ccapac Apu. Souls then started to flee from it as it fell to the floor with a earth shaking thud.
Kalin: 2750 - 600 = 2150
The ground then began to give way underneath Kalin and his Duel Runner. He was starting to loose control.
"Oh no" said Emily. The dragon then flew down close to Kalin.
"Kalin! Take my hand!" Shouted Emily.
"What?" Kalin asked unsure.
"I know you don't exactly trust Yusei", said Emily. "But you need to trust me. The duel's over anyways. My Dragon's second ability allows it to make another attack if it destroyed a tribute summoned or special summoned monster". Kalin was unsure, but he decided to trust her. He grabbed her hand, just as his life points dropped to 0.
"Don't worry Kalin", said Yusei. "We're gonna help you and-".
"Yusei", said Kalin. "It's too late for me. I've done my deeds, and I realise, that everything that happened to me was my own fault. Just, don't loose to the Dark Signers, please".
"I promise" said Yusei.
"And you, Emily", said Kalin. "Make sure you have hid back, got it?".
"I got it" said Emily.
"See you soo" said Kalin. He then turned into black dust. The next thing that they knew, they were on the ground. Yusei then walked into the tower. A few minutes later, he walked out and it started to sink.
"Yusei", said Emily. "Are you okay?".
"The Dark Signers", said Yusei. "ARE GONNA PAY FOR THIS!".
