Chapter 17

Reuniting and the opening ceremony

Emily and the girls were in business class in an airplane with their families.

"Now we're talking" said Emily.

"Well, we ARE on business" said April.

"Does duelling really count as business?" Asked Lily.

"It is if you're a pro" said Chloe.

"Attention passengers", said the pilot over the speaker system. "We'll be arriving at New Domino City very shortly. Please put your tray tables up and your seats in the full upright position".

"This is it" said Kelsey excitedly. At last, the plane then landed. They then collected their. Luggage and headed off. When they got out of arrivals, they then heard a voice.

"Hey Emily!". Emily looked to her right to see….

"Yusei!". She then ran over to him and gave him a hug.

"It's so nice to see you again Yusei" said Emily.

"Nice to see ya too" agreed Yusei.

"This is way beyond awesome". Yusei then saw the rest of the girls and their families with them.

"So, I take it that those are your families" said Jack.

"Yep, they came here to see us duel" said Kelsey. Yusei and the others noticed how many people were in April's family.

"Geez, how ya sure got a large family there April" noted Crow.

"It kinda reminds us of the large family we had when we lived at Martha's, don't they?" Asked Yusei.

"Huh, ya know, you're kinda right Yusei" answered Crow.

"Shouldn't we be heading for the stadium?", asked Jack. "The opening ceremonies begin in an hour".

"You're right", agreed Yusei before turning to the families. "You guys head over to the hotel and get checked in. The rest of us will head over to New Domino Stadium".

"Take good care of them" said Emily's mother as they walked off.

"We will" called back Yusei.

"Well what are we waiting for?", asked Emily. "Let's mooooooove".

"I swear that girl can be so happy she'd make a stone smile" said Crow.

Later, they arrived at the stadium and made their way to the locker rooms. And some how, the families were waiting in the V.I.P area and to Emily and the girl's shock, the students from their school were there as well.

"Man, talk about a sold out crowd" said Crow.

"Oh man", said Lily shaking. "I'm, I'm kinda nervous".

"Don't be", said Jack as he patted her on the pack. "Who cares about screaming fans and roaring crowds?".

"Didn't you?" Asked Chloe. This made Jack faltered for a bit.

"Not the point" answered Jack. Soon the MC took the stage.

"Welcome duel fans!", he shouted. "It's time for the annual Summer Cup. We have a. Fantastic group of Duelists ready for you to battle it out for not only the titular Summer Cup, but also, a collection of rare gold cards". The crowd then cheered.

Back in the locker rooms.

"This is it" said April.

"Let's break a leg" said Kelsey.

Back outside.

"But enough with me flapping my jaws, you wanna see duelists, don't you?!" Asked the MC. The crowd cheered in response.

"I can't hear you!". More cheering followed.

"Alright", said the MC. "First, he's the Satellite's Shining Star! The little Satelite that could! Give it up for Yusei Fudo!". Yusei then entered the area to a cheering crowd.

"Next up! We have the master of faster! The Turbo Titan! It's Jack Atlas!". Jack then walked out.

"Not following far behind, we have the black bird himself! The black feathered Robin Hood! Crow Hogan!" Crow then walked out.

"Contestant number four is as deadly as she is beautiful! Smell her flowers and you'll fall under her spell! Akiza Izinski AKA The Black Rose Witch!" Akiza walked out.

"After that, we got the youngest competitor here! She's small! She's still in school! And she has to be home before her bed time! Luna Moon!". Luna then walked out.

"Our next contestant is sure to slice up his enemies with precision and honour, meet the duelling Samurai Takashi Ojiro!". The next duelist was a man in his mid-twenties dressed in samurai ropes that were coloured purple, black and had hints of green. He had blue eyes and he had long black hair tied into a ponytail.

"Following not too far behind is the duelling Goliath! But don't let his tough exterior fool you, underneath all those muscles is a heart made of gold! Rodrick Frettler". The next contestant was a man in his mid 30's wearing a vest and black pants and showed off his large muscles. He had a head of spiked hair and wore shades over his eyes.

"Up next is the girl with brightest smile and the most contagious optimism I've ever seen, please welcome Emily Hoshizora!". Emily then walked out.

"Next up is the ghost talker herself, the girl that puts the creep in creeped out, Vicky Bones!". The next contestant was a girl wearing a gothic outfit that most goth lolita fans would drool for. That be a short skirted goth dress with thigh high black stockings and heeled shoes coloured the same colour. She also wore black elbow length gloves and had long black hair in an over eye hair style.

"Our next contestant is sure to bring the heat, the Rainbow Hills Firecracker, Kelsey Dover!". Kelsey then walked out.

"Up next is the man with the sharp tongue and sharp wit, give a warm welcome to Richard Dagger!". A man in his late 30's with red eyes and a head of unkept brown hair wearing a black jacket, tan trousers and blue shoes walked out.

"Our next contestant is sure to blow away the competition! Give it up for April O'Conners!". April then walked out.

"Next up on the list is the cool, confident and very well organised, Chloe Frost!". Chloe then walked out.

"Following closely behind is a quiet girl with a loud and proud smile! Lily Poyched!". Lily then walked out.

"Our next contestant came from humble beginnings and is now making his way to the big time, Edwin Gloss!". The contestant was a young man with tanned skin, black eyes and short black hair wearing a plain, white T-Shirt and grey shorts.

"And last, but not least, we have the scrap king himself, John Junk!". The final contestant was a man in his 20's with a head of green hair and brown eyes. He wore a brown coat with a white shirt underneath as well as jean trousers and black shoes.

"Tomorrow, these 16 duelists will battle it out", said the MC. "Who will come out on top and who will fall to the bottom". The crowd then cheered at the sound of this.

"All these people are watching us" said Lily.

"Just imagine them all in there underwear if you're nervous" suggested Kelsey.

"Okay", said Lily. "Should they be in boxes or briefs". But, unbeknownst to them, Richard Dagger wears glaring at them.
