Hello there. Well, I've decided to start adding pictures of cards into my stories because it might help, starting from this chapter onwards. I might go back and do previous chapters, but that depends. But, here's the first duel of the tournament. Now leave a review, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Chapter 20
Shogun Showdown
Emily: 4000
Takashi: 4000
"Since I pride myself as a gentleman", said Takashi. "Ladies first".
"Why thank you, my draw", said Emily drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Techno-Pixie in attack mode". Her new monster was a female pixie that was covered in robotic armour, leaving only it's mouth exposed.
Techno-Pixie

"And since I control a fairy monster", said Emily. "I can special summon Magnet Fairy from my hand". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I'll play the Tuning Spell Card", said Emily. "Now I get to add a Tuner monster from my deck to my hand, as long as I get rid of cards from my deck equal to that monster's level". A card then popped out of her deck and she placed it in her hand.
"And since Glitter Synchroniser's a level 3", said Emily. "I gotta send three cards to the graveyard".
"Next, I'll play the spell Tuner Emergency", said Emily. "I can now special summon a Tuner monster directly from my hand. So, give a warm welcome to Glitter Synchroniser". Her new monster was a pale skinned fairy with pink hair tied into Pigtails. She wore a magenta, indigo and pink coloured dress with a yellow jewel at the centre of her chest. She also wore elbow-length white gloves and white stockings with high-heels coloured Magenta. In her right hand was a wand with a rainbow coloured star on the top.
Glitter Synchroniser

"I'll place these two facedown and end my turn" said Emily.
"Huh, why did she synchro summon?" Asked Kelsey.
"Yeah", said April. "She could've summoned a level 5, a level 7 or even a level 10".
"Maybe she wanted to see what Takashi's strategy is before she brings out her big players" suggested Crow.
"If she is, then that's a smart move" said Akiza.
"It is my move, I draw", said Takashi drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Six Samurai Zanji, in attack mode". He new monster was a samurai warrior decked out in brown-black armour that was highlighted in neon orange. His helmet had two horns on it and her carried a long spear-like sword.
Six Samurai Zanji

"Now, since I control a 'Six Samurai' monster, I'm allowed to special summon the following two monsters from my hand", said Takashi. "Grandmaster of the Six Samurai, Legendary Six Samurai Kizan, prepare your blades and defend your lord". Two monsters then appeared on his.
The first one was a buff old man with long, white hair and a white goatee he wore tight armour and he appeared to have what appeared to be mechanical enhancements that were highlighted a neon white. He also carried a katana in his hands.
Grandmaster of the Six Samurai

The other one had long, black hair and his helmet had a curve at the back. He wore armour that was dark-blue-black and wad highlighted in neon yellow.
Legendary Six Samurai Kizan

"And now for Kizan's effect", said Takashi. "When I control another 'Six Samurai' monster, he gains 300 attack and defence points".

DEF: 500 + 300 = 800
"Looks like both players have managed to summon three monsters each", said the MC. "But, it appears as though Takashi's have more power".
"Now my noble warriors, attack her monster!" He shouted. The three armoured warriors then charged into battle.
"Not so fast, I activate my trap, Impenetrable Spirit", said Emily. "Since I have at least three monsters with 1900 attack points or less, they can't be destroyed by battle or card effects this turn".
"Maybe", said Takashi. "But your life points are another matter altogether". The three samurai slashed at her monsters, but they weren't destroyed.
Emily: 4000 - 1300 - 800 - 600 = 1300
"Emily lost well over half her life points" said Lily in worry.
"I play the trap, Gift of the Ancient Elf", said Emily. "Thanks to this, I now gain life points equal to the combine total of the levels of all my level 4 or below monsters multiplied by 200. Since Magnet is 2, Glitter is 3 and Techno is 4, that's a total of 1800".
Emily: 1300 + 1800 = 3100
"Nice, she got her life points back" Kelsey.
"Now all she needs is to get some heavy hitters on her field on her field" said Leo.
"And knowing that girl", said Crow. "We're in for a treat".
"I'll place these two facedown and end my turn" said Takashi.
"Then it's my move", said Emily drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon, Candy Pixy". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"She got another tuner on her field" said April.
"Come one, sweety, you know what to do!" Cheered Emily's mother.
"I tune my level 3 Glitter Synchroniser with my level 2 Magnet Fairy", said Emily performing the summon. "Out of 2 comes one and now we're ready for some glittery fun! I synchro summon! Glitter Warrior! Let's give this battle a happy ending!". Her new monster was a fair skinned woman with ruby-red lips, green eyes and long hair done into extremely long ponytails that had heart-shaped clips at he bottom. She wore a silver headband with a rose quartz at the centre. Her attire consider of pink magenta armour with indigo highlights and wore violet chainmail underneath. She also had a magenta armoured skirt with Indigo highlights and wore a belt with a rose quartz centre. She also wore indigo thigh high boots and there were magenta hearts on the outside of her boots. The armour on her right arm was more prominent than the armour on her left arm. On her back, was a pair of metallic angel wings.
Glitter Warrior

"And that's not all, I tune my level 2 Candy Pixy with my level 4 Techno-Fairy", said Emily performing the summon. "May darkness create a being that has the potential to reek havoc on it's enemies. I synchro summon! Daruizen the Archfiend Prince!". Her new monster was a humanoid demon that looked like he was a teenage boy. He had light-blue skin, yellow eyes and dark-green hair. His ears were pointed, he had painted markings over his left eye. He had two branching horns that were coloured a black-red. He wore a black choker on his neck, a green business shirt, a grey-brown business vest, black trousers and grey-brown boots. He also wore two jackets. One was a dark-blue and over it was a deep-red one with black highlights. A blue rose was on his left peck.
Daruizen the Archfiend Prince

"Whoa, two synchro monsters out and it's only the second turn", said the MC. "This little girl sure has some skill".
"Now! Glitter Warrior!", shouted Emily. "Attack Grandmaster of the Six Samurai! Go Glitter Fist!". Glitter Warrior's fist then glowed a glittery rainbow of colours and sh lunged forward and punched Grandmaster in the chest. He was then destroyed.
Takashi: 4000 - 200 = 3800
"Now for Daruizen's abilities", said Emily. "First, both of us have to set spells before we can activate them. Next, comes the ability I activate now, when monsters are destroyed in battle, the owner of that monster takes damage equal to the level of that monster multiplied by 200".
"Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is a level 5", said Chloe. "So, that's an extra 1000 points of damage".
Takashi: 3800 - 1000 = 2800
"Now for Daruizen's attack!", shouted Emily. "Go! Staring Gazer!". Daruizen's eyes widened and black lasers fired out and destroyed Kizan.
Takashi: 2800 - 500 = 2300
"And don't forget about Daruizen's ability" said Emily.
Takashi: 2300 - 800 = 1500
"I must admit, you are quite the opponent", said Takashi. "But I'm afraid you walked into my trap. Six Style Dual Wield".
"A trap" said Emily.
"Yes, and since the only monster I control is a 'Six Samurai'", said Takashi. "I'm allowed to return two cards you control to the hand. So say goodbye to your two monsters". Emily's two monsters glowed before being destroyed.
"You won't have me down for long", said Emily. "The hero of a story like this always finds a way to get back up. And this card will prove it. Go, Fairy Sanctity. Thanks to this little number, I'm allowed to draw 1 card from my deck for every fairy in my grave. I got Techno-Fairy, Glitter Synchroniser, Magnet Fairy, Candy Pixy and Athlete Fairy that was sent there due to Tuning, so that's 5 cards I draw". Emily then drew the top 5 cards of her deck.
"I'll place these two facedown and end my turn" said Emily.
"My turn begins once again", said Takashi as he drew the top card of his deck. "I'll start my turn by summoning Legendary Six Samurai Kageki". His new monster was a samurai in bronze armour that was highlighted with yellow lining. He also had two robotic arms that allowed him to carry four Katanas.
Legendary Six Samurai Kageki

"And he has two abilities as well", said Takashi. "First, I can special summon any level 4 or below 'Six Samurai' monster from my hand. And I choose Legendary Six Samurai Enishi". His new monster was a samurai that wore lime green armour with mustard yellow highlights and had a bucket-shaped helmet. He carried a katana in his hands.

"Now, thanks to Kageki and Enishi's special abilities", said Takashi. "They each gain 1500 and 500 attack respectively".

Legendary Six Samurai Enishi
ATK: 1700 + 500 = 2200
"And since I summoned a 'Six Samurai' monster", said Takashi. "I can special summon this from my hand, Legendary Secret of the Six Samurai, rise in defence mode". His new monster was a dark-crimson samurai armour highlighted in gold and had what appeared to be a spirit inside.

"He summoned another three monsters in one turn", said Akiza. "That is some impressive technique".
"And Emily doesn't have any monsters on her field" said Luna.
"Charge in my warriors!", shouted Takashi. "Now, attack!". His samurai then charged into battle.
"Not so fast", said Emily. "Go! Tock Tick!". A large antique hand watch appeared on her field and started to tick backwards. When that happened, the samurais then stopped and returned to their positions.
"What happened?" Asked Takashi.
"When this trap is activated", said Emily. "I can stop the battle phase and any attack in progress".
"I'll end my turn for now", said Takash. "Show me what you got".
"I'll gladly show you, I draw", said Emily drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Pixie-Quinn in attack mode". Her new monster was a pixie dressed up in a Harlequin outfit.
Pixie-Quinn

"Now comes her special ability", said Emily. "You guess the top card of my deck, the choices are monster, spell or trap, guess right, that card goes to the grave, guess wrong, I can add that card to my hand. So, what's your guess?". She then took the top card of her deck and handed it to Pixie-Quinn, who then placed it in a wind-up box and the crank started to turn on it's own.
"So, it's a guessing game", said Takashi. "Very well, I choose trap". The crank then stopped and something popped out. It was a card, more specifically a spell card".
"Whoopsies", said Emily. "Looks like you guess wrong. So that card goes to my hand". The card then went to her hand.
"Next, I play Tuning Reincarnation", said Emily. "Now, I just banish one Tuner from my grave to summon one from my deck who's level is equal or less to the one I banished. So, I banish my Candy Pixy to summon Moth Fairy". Her new monster was a male fairy wearing silk and had moth wings on his back.
Moth Fairy

"Next I play my facedown, the trap, Soul Match", said Emily. "Thanks to this, I can choose a monster on your field, and if I have a monster in my grave that's the same attribute or level, I can special summon that monster with it's effects negated and it's attack and defence reduced to 0".
"What?!" Shouted Takashi. A spirit the passed through Enishi's body and entered Emily's duel disk.
"So, welcome back, Techno-Pixie" said Emily. Her monster then reappeared on her field.
"Next, I play level mirroring", said Emily. "Now, I choose one monster on your field and one monster on my field and I can change the level of my monster to the level of yours. Or to put simply, Techno is now the same level as Kageki".
Techno-Pixie
Level: 4 - 1 = 3
"Next, I play this spell card, Fairies Mining for Magical Stones", said Emily. "Now, all I gotta do is return two fairy monsters from my grave to the bottom of my deck and I can add a spell card from my graveyard to my hand. So, I return Magnet Fairy and Glitter Synchroniser to the bottom of my deck and I can add Level Mirroring back to my hand. Which I activate now. You know how this works, and I'll think I'll choose Kageki again to make Pixie-Quinn a level 3".
Pixie-Quinn
Level: 4 - 1 = 3
"What's she planning?" Asked Leo.
"I think she's about to Synchro summon again" said Jack.
"I tune my level 1 Moth Fairy with my level 3 Pixie-Quinn and level 3 Techno-Pixie", said Emily performing the summon. "Shining bright! Glittering with power! And breathing red hot fire! I synchro summon! Ruby Draconix!". Emily's new monster was a dragon esc creature. It's body was made up of two different shades of Ruby red and there were hint of Yellow crystals scattered all over it's body. It's eyes then glowed a toxic green before roaring.

"Whoa, that's a new one" said Crow.
"Where'd she get that?" Asked Leo.
"Emily said she got it from a pack she won during a raffle at the card shop in the mall" answered Kelsey.
"Let's hope this monster has something she can use" said Crow.
"Here's something ya might not have known", said Emily. "When Ruby Draconix is Synchro summoned using monsters that are all either the same type or attribute, it can attack twice".
"Whoa, two attacks? And with 2900 attack points?", asked the MC. "Looks like Emily might just be going to the next round".
"Now attack!", shouted Emily. "Ruby Flash Flare!". A ruby red energy stream then came out of it's mouth and headed towards Enishi.
"Not so fast, I play the facedown trap, Six Samurai Stand United", said Takashi. "Since I have two or more 'Six Samurai' monster face up on my field, I can end the battle phase of this turn and protect my 'Six Samurai' monsters from card effects this turn". The samurai then held their swords together and a shield protected them.
"Very well, I end my turn with two face downs" said Emily.
"Then it's my turn, I draw", said Takashi. "I play the spell, Enchanted Star Soup. At the cost of my monsters not attacking, I gain life points equal to the total level of my monsters multiplied by 100. So, that's 4, 4, 4 and 3. The total is 15, multiply that by 100 and you get 1500".
Takashi: 1500 + 1500 = 3000
"Next, I activated Enishi's special ability", said Takashi. " by banishing two 'Six Samurai' monsters from my grave, I can target one face up monster on the field and return it to my hand".
"Oh no" said Lily.
"There goes Emily's Ruby Draconix" said Luna.
"And the monster I choose is", said Takashi. "My Kageki". His monster then returned to his hand.
"Huh? Why'd he return his own monster?" Asked Yusei.
"Next, I play the spells, Six Samurai United and Gateway of the Six Samurai" said Takashi. Then, behind him, appeared a large feudal, Japanese gate appeared behind Takashi. A wall then formed from the gate. Along the gate and the wall were multiples of a Japanese symbol.
"What's with the remodelling?" Asked Emily.
"You'll see when I summon Kageki again", answered Takashi as his monster appeared on the field. "Your ember his effects right? He gains 1500 attack points and I get to special summon a level 4 or below 'Six Samurai' from my hand".
Legendary Six Samurai Kageki

"I now special summon, Six Samurai Kamon" said Takashi. His new monster was another samurai wearing brown armour highlighted in flame-orange.
Six Samurai Kamon

"Oh man", said Emily nervously. "That's five monsters".
"Now for my spells", said Takashi. "Every time a 'Six Samurai' is normal or special summoned, I can add one Bushido counter to each of them. Since I summoned two, that's two counters". Two symbols glowed and another two appeared on Six Samurai United.
"Now, I can send Six Samurai United to the grave to draw two cards from my deck", said Takashi. "That is, if it has two Bushido Counters on it". The card then disappeared and Takashi drew two cards from his deck.
"I'll end my turn" said Takashi.
"Then it's my turn", said Emily drawing the top card of her deck. "I play the continuous spell, Offerings from the Fairies. Thanks to this little spell, any extra deck monster that uses only fairy type monsters as material can gain one of these effects depending on how many materials were used. Since Ruby Draconix was summoned using three, every time he attacks a monster, I can draw one card of that monster is destroyed. Now attack! Ruby Flash Flare!". Draconix then launched it's attack and destroyed Legendary Secret.
"Now again!", shouted Emily. "Ruby Flash Flare!". Draconix then attacked again and destroyed Zanji.
Takashi: 3000 - 1100 = 1900
"I'll end my turn" said Emily.
"Then it's my move", said Takashi as he drew the top card of his deck. "Now, I think it's time for my monsters to unite. And what better way, than with this. I summon the Tuner monster Secret Six Samurai Fuma!". His new monster was a ninja that wore blue robes with silver and pink armour and carried a large Shuriken in his hand.

Another counter appeared on the gateway.
"A tuner monster" said Emily.
"He's got a tuner monster" said Crow.
"Then you know what's coming next" said Yusei.
"Next, I play Cunning of the Six Samurai", said Takashi. "Now, all I have to do is tribute one 'Six Samurai' monster to summon another one from my grave. So, I tribute Kageki to bring Enishi back". When Kageki disappeared, Enishi returned to the field. After this happened, another counter appeared on the gateway.
"Well, this can't be good" said Emily.
"I tune my level 1 Fuma with my level 4 Enishi", said Takashi performing the summon. "I synchro summon! Legendary Six Samurai Shi En!". His new monster was a samurai wearing red armour with gold highlights and had a pair of demon wings on his back.

Another counter appeared on the Gateway.
"How many counters does that gateway even have?" Asked Leo.
"I think he has five so far" answered Luna.
"Next, I play the equip spell, legendary ebon stead", said Takashi. "Thanks to this, my monster gains an extra 200 attack and points". Shi En was now riding a black horse wearing black armour.
Legendary Samurai Shi En.
ATK: 2500 + 200 = 2700
DEF: 1400 + 200 = 1600
"It's still not strong enough to destroy Draconix" said Emily.
"True, but not for long", said Takashi. "I activate the equip spell, Soul Sword of the Six Samurai". The Katana in Shi En's hand soon changed to one that had a purple blade and a black hilt.
"What do you think?", asked Takashi. "Now, all I gotta do is banish 1 'Six Samurai' from my grave and I add that monsters attack points to it. So I'm banishing Legendary Secret". A spirit came from his duel disk and entered the sword.
Legendary Six Samurai Shi En
ATK: 2700 + 500 = 3200
"Not good" said Leo.
"Shi En! Attack with Curse Katana Cut!" Shouted Takashi. Shi En then charged forward on his steed and slashed at Draconix and destroyed it.
Emily: 3100 - 300 = 2800
"Now Kamon!", shouted Takashi. "Attack Emily directly!". Kamon then lit a stick of Dynamite and threw it at Emily.
"I play the spell, Twinkle Shield", said Emily. "Now, if I send a fairy to the grave that's the same level as the monster you attack me with, I can negate that attack".
"Not so fast, I play Shi En's special ability", said Takashi. "Once per turn, I can negate one spell or trap effect that you activate!". The card in Emily's hand was destroyed. The Dynamite then struck Emily.
Emily: 2800 - 1500 = 1300
"Next, I play Kamon's effect", said Takashi. "Since I control a 'Six Samurai', I can destroy one spell or trap on the field. So, say goodbye to your Offerings from the Fairies". Kamon then threw a lit dynamite stick and it destroyed her spell.
"I'll end my turn" said Takashi.
"Now, it's my turn", said Emily as she drew the top card of her deck. "I play the spell card, reload. Now all I gotta do is put my hand back into my deck, shuffle it up and redraw". She then redrew her hand.
"I play the spell card, Wand of Rebirth", said Emily. "Thanks to this, I'm allowed to bring one Fairy back from my graveyard to the field now. The one I choose, is Glitter Synchroniser". Her monster then returned to the field.
"Next, since I special summoned a monster", said Emily. "I can now summon this card, Paparazzi Pixie, get ready". Her new monster as a pixie dressed as a paparazzi member.
Paparazzi Pixie
Level: 1
Attribute: Earth
Type: Fairy
ATK: 500
DEF: 500
"I play my gateway's special ability", said Takashi. "Now all I gotta is-".
"I don't think so", said Emily. "I play the spell, Pixie's Duster. Thanks to this card, I can now destroy one spell or trap on the field as long as I control a fairy monster. And the card I'm destroying is, Gateway of the Six Samurai". Gateway was then destroyed.
"No, my gateway" said Takashi.
"My dad ran a 'Six Samurai' deck when I first started out duelling", said Emily. "So, I kinda already knew what to do".
"Well, experience is the best teacher", said Takashi. "So nice move".
"But, I'm not finished yet", said Emily. "Since the to monster I summoned were special summoned, I still have a normal summon to do. So, welcome Mining Pixie to the game". Her new monster was male pixie wearing a mining outfit.
Mining Fairy
Level: 1
Attribute: Earth
Type: Fairy
ATK: 800
DEF: 800
"Now for her special ability", said Emily. "When she's summoned, I can special summon a fairy from my graveyard. So, I choose Athlete Fairy". Her monster then appeared on her field.
"Now, I tune my level 3 Glitter Synchroniser with my level 1 Paparazzi Pixie, level 1 Mining Fairy and level 1 Athlete Fairy", said Emily performing the summon. "It's time to let metal clash in this fabled battle! I synchro summon! Mechassailant!". Her new monster was a mechanical humanoid made out of orange and brown metal with two visors acting as eyes.
Mechassailant
Level: 6
Attribute: Earth
Type: Machine
ATK: 2500
DEF: 2100
"Now, I know that Shi En can protect itself by destroying another 'Six Samurai'", said Emily. "But you'll still take the damage. So! Mechassailant! Attack Legendary Six Samurai Shi En!".
"Huh? But Shi En still has more attack points than Mechassailant" said Lily.
"You seem to be forgetting Athlete Fairy's ability" Chloe added.
"When Athlete Fairy is used as synchro material", said Emily. "That Synchro monster gains an extra 1000 attack points when it battles".
Mechassailant
ATK: 2500 + 1000 = 3500
"Next, I activate Mechassailant's special ability", said Emily. "I draw the top card of my deck, and what happens next depends on what I draw". Emily then placed her hand on the top of her deck.
'Please, let this be the card I need' she prayed in her head. She then drew the top card and looked at it. She smile when she saw what she drew.
"I drew a spell", said Emily. "So that means a monster I control gains an extra 1000 attack and defence points".
Mechassailant
ATK: 3500 + 1000 = 4500
DEF: 2100 + 1000 = 3100
"Now attack!", shouted Emily. "Cyber Laser Sabre Slash!". Mechassailant pulled a hilt out of it's armour and drew it's hand across. A orange laser blade then came out. The two monsters then charged forward and slashed each other with their swords. But only Shi En was destroyed.
Takashi: 1900 - 1300 = 600
"Next, I play Coach Fairy's special ability", said Emily. "If you have monsters on your field, my monster can attack a second time. So, Mechassailant! Attack Kamon!". Mechassailant then sliced at Kamon and destroyed him.
Takashi: 600 - 3000 = 0
Winner: Emily
The monsters then disappeared.
"And the first duel of the Summer Cup is brought to a close", said the MC. "And the winner is, Emily Hoshizora!". The crowd cheered and Takashi then walked up to Emily.
"That was an amazing duel", said Takashi. "You are going places, just remember what being a true champion is".
"I will" said Emily. But, unbeknownst to everyone, someone was watching from the shadows.
