That's one duel down, here's the next one. This time, we'll see Jack against Chloe. What? Just because I showed who's gonna duel who, doesn't mean they're gonna duel in that order. After this arc, the meklord arc will start. So, leave a review, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Chapter 21
Freezing Chain
"Congrats on your win Emily" said Crow.
"Thanks Crow" said Emily as she blushed and rubbed the back of her head.
"But, who's gonna duel tomorrow?" Wondered Lily.
"And now to reveal tomorrow's duelists" said the MC. The screen then turned on and showed who it was.
"Looks like opposites attract in tomorrow's duel", said the MC. "As the Master of Faster Jack Atlas takes on the cool school girl Chloe Frost".
"Looks like it's me vs you tomorrow, Chloe" said Jack.
"I hope your Red Dragon Archfiend is ready to fight" said Chloe.
"You better believe it is", said Jack. "And I got a few surprises for you". However, unbeknownst to them, Richard was watching them.
'That Akiza girl', he thought. 'Maybe she could help us'.
Later that night, as Emily tucked herself into bed, she kept wondering about the dream she had last night.
"Maybe the dream I had last night was just that", thought Emily. "I was probably nothing like a vision or a psychic warning". However, just after midnight. She heard them again.
"Please! Help!".
"I'm Scared!".
"No! Stoooooooop!".
"It hurrrrrrts!".
"I can't! Breathe!".
"NO!".
"HELP ME!".
"HELP! SOMEBODY!".
Emily then shot up, panting like she had run a marathon and sweating like a horse in a glue factory.
"Emily, are you okay?" Asked Candi, seeing Emily suddenly shoot up.
"It happened again" said Emily.
The next day.
The stadium was packed once again, the crowds cheering and the smell of stadium food covering the area.
"Alright!", shouted the MC. "It's day 2 and we have another amazing match for you. First, we have the master of faster himself, Jack Atlas". Jack then walked out into the stadium as the crowd cheered.
"And his opponent. The cool, the calculating, the ice queen of Rainbow Hills, Chloe Frost". Chloe then walked into the stadium and the crowd cheered.
"Now, let's see who will win this duel", said the MC. "The Champion with the with the Blazing Soul, or the Girl with the cool head? Let's find out". Both Chloe and Jack turned on their duel disk.
"LET'S DUEL!"

"As they say, age before beauty", said Jack drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Top Runner". His new monster was a robot designed and dressed like a professional runner.

"It's my turn, I draw", said Chloe drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Strategist of the Ice Barrier". Her new monster was an old man wearing two-tone blur robes with gold trimming. He also wore a snowflake shaped shade hat and held a fan in his hand.

"Now for is special ability", said Chloe. "I send an 'Ice Barrier' monster to the grave to draw 1 card". She then drew the top card of her deck.
"Since you control a monster and I control an 'Ice Barrier' monster", said Chloe. "I can special summon this card from my hand. General Wayne of the Ice Barrier, report to the front line". Her new monster was a man dressed in ice-blue and silver armour with a dark blue cape, long black hair and carried a dagger in his hand.

"And since I control an 'Ice Barrier' monster", said Chloe. "I can special summon Prior of the Ice Barrier from my hand". Her new monster was a man with long, brown hair and a brown beard. He wore white and gold robes under a blue and gold cloak and carried a staff made of ice with a snowflake top in his hand.

"Now for Prior's special ability", said Chloe. "I can special summon one 'Ice Barrier' monster from my graveyard. And I choose Defender of the Ice Barrier". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Whoa, it's only the second turn of the duel and she's summoned FOUR monsters already", said the MC sounding impressed. "If she can do this in one turn, we're in for a treat".
"And with that, I shall end my turn with two face downs" said Chloe.
"Huh?", wondered Emily in confusion. "Why didn't she synchro summon?".
"Yeah I agree", said Lily. "With Defender, the level of synchro could be from level 7 to level 12".
"Due to Prior's ability", said Yusei. "Chloe couldn't summon any monsters that were level 5 or above".
"But why would she do that?" Asked Leo.
"She must be setting up for something" said Crow.
"It's my move, I draw", said Jack drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Twin Sword Marauder in attack mod". His new monster was an armoured warrior with triple blade swords mounted to each arm.

"Now, Top Runner gives Twin Sword Marauder a tune up", said Jack performing the summon. "Behold, as the power of two is forged into a single greater one! I synchro summon! Red Dragon Archfiend!". His ace monster then appeared on the field.
"Oh man, he's got Red Dragon out already" said Kelsey in worry.
"Now! Attack Prior of the Ice Barrier!", shouted Jack. "Go! Absolute Power Force!". Just as Red Dragon was about to attack, he was trapped in ice.
"What's this?" Asked Jack.
"It's the special ability of Defender", answered Chloe. "You can't attack me with monsters that have 1600 attack points or more".
"Ah, so that was her plan" said Crow.
"That's why she's the brains of our group" said Emily.
"I'll end my turn" said Jack.
"Then it's my turn", said Chloe drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Hexa Spirit of the Ice Barrier". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I tune my level 1 Hexa Spirit with my level 5 General Wayne", said Chloe performing the summon. "I synchro summon Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I tune my level 3 Defender with my level 4 Strategist", said Chloe performing the summon. "I synchro summon! Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Oh my goodness", said the MC in shock. "Chloe summoned TWO powerful synchro monsters. Looks like Jack is in for a serious case of frostbite".
"Next, I play my facedown, Offerings to Aquarius", said Chloe. "Thanks to this card, all I need to do is tribute one water monster and that monsters attack points get added to my life points. So, say bye to Prior, and hello to 1000 life points". Prior then disappeared.
Chloe: 4000 + 1000 = 5000
"Next, I play Pot of Avarice", said Chloe. "Now, since I have 5 monsters in my graveyard, I can return them to my deck, reshuffle and draw two cards". She then drew the top two cards of her deck.
"That'll do for now" said Chloe.
"Then it's my move", said Jack as he drew the top card of his deck. "I play the spell, Synchro Power Strike! Thanks to this card, when a synchro monster attacks this turn, I can deal double damage to my opponent! Now, Red Dragon Archfiend! Attack Brionac! Absolute Power Force!".
Red Dragon Archfiend then charged forward with it's attack.
"I activate my trap, Synchronised Water Wall!", shouted Chloe. "Thanks to this card, if I have two or more Water synchro monsters on my field, any attacks or effects you activate this turn". Both Gungnir and Brionac then fired water from their mouths and blocked the attack.
"Man, talk about drowning someones chances" said the MC.
"I end my turn"
"Then I draw", said Chloe drawing the top card of her deck. "I activate Medallion of the Ice Barrier. This allows me to add one 'Ice Barrier' monster from my deck to my hand". She then added a card her hand.
"I play my Gungnir's special ability", said Chloe. "I send two cards to the grave, to destroy two cards on your field. So, say goodbye to Red Dragon Archfiend and the facedown card on the left". A blizzard then came out of Gungnir's mouth. Both the card and Red Dragon Archfiend were encased in ice before they crumbled.
"Now, Brionac! Attack Jack directly!" Shouted Chloe. Brionac then fired a beam of ice from it's mouth.
"I play my facedown card, No Extras needed!", shouted Jack. "Thanks to this card, all I need to do is give up 1500 life points and Extra deck monsters can not attack this turn!". Brionac's attack then stopped.
Jack: 4000 - 1500 = 2500
"I'll end my turn" said Chloe.
"Then it's my move", said Jack drawing the top card of his deck. "Now, since there are monsters on your field and not on mine, I can summon Vice Dragon from my hand". His monster then appeared on his field.
"Now, I normal summon Dread Dragon!" Shouted Jack. His new monster was a dragon with brown scales and red wings. But, the most notable thing was the purple dreadlocks.

"Now, I tune my level 2 Dread Dragon with my level 5 Vice Dragon!", shouted Jack performing the summon. "I Synchro summon! Exploder Dragonwing!". His new monster was a bipedal dragon with blueish-black skin, red frills on the back of his head, a large hump on his back and red wings.

"Now, attack Gungnir!" Shouted Jack.
"Huh, why's he doing that?" Asked Emily.
"Exploder Dragonwing's special ability" answered Yusei.
"When Exploder Dragonwing attacks a monster", said Jack. "That monster is instantly destroyed. Oh, and your life points get hit equal to that monster's attack points. Go! Blasting Dragon Breath!". The lump on Dragonwing's back expanded and it then released a fiery blast, destroying Gungnir.
Chloe: 5000 - 2500 = 2500
"I'll place one card facedown and end my turn" said Jack.
"Then it's my move, I draw", said Chloe drawing the top card of his deck. "I play the spell, Shards of the Ice Barrier. Now, if I send the top three cards from my deck to the graveyard, I can special summon three Shard Tokens of the Ice Barrier to my field". Three ice shards then appeared on Chloe's field.

"Next, I play, Winds over the Ice Barrier", said Chloe. "Now, I can tribute any number of 'Ice Barrier' monsters on my field to summon the same number of level 4 or lower 'Ice Barrier' monsters from my deck". Her three tokens then disappeared.
"So, come on out, Shock Troop of the Ice Barriers".
Her new monster was a man in blue robs with a blue cloth covering his face. He also carried a staff with a gold, snowflake-shaped top.

Her new monster was a blonde haired man in purple ninja robes holding a snowflake shaped shuriken in one hand and a Kunai in the other.

Her new monster was a pale skinned girl with white hair wearing a lavender dress under a red robe and carried a magic staff.

"She summoned three monsters at once", said Crow impressed. "That's still an impressive feat".
"That's our Chloe" said Kelsey.
"Also, anybody else added up the levels of those monsters?" Asked April.
"Let's see", said Leo. "There's a level 2, plus 4 is 6 and add 3 is-".
"They add up to 9" finished Luna.
"I tune my level 2 Dewdark with my level 4 Spellbreaker and level 3 Shocktroop", said Chloe performing the summon. "Now watch! As the glaciers of old give way, and erupt with the quaking power of a roaring avalanche! I synchro summon! Trishula! Dragon of the Ice Barrier!". Her monster then appeared on the field with a threatening triple roar.
"Now for Trishula's ability", said Chloe. "Now, I can banish three cards you control. I choose the Dragonwing on your field, the second card from the right in your hand and the Vice Dragon in your grave. Go! Blinding Banishing Blizzard!". Trishula's three heads then fired blizzards from their mouths and destroyed their targets.
"Now! Attack Jack directly!", shouted Chloe. "Thrice Ice Breath!". Trishula's three heads then shot streams of ice at Jack.
"I activate the effect of Battle Fader from my hand", said Jack. "When I'm attacked directly, I can summon him and end the battle phase". When Battle Fader appeared on the field, it rang it's bell and Trishula stopped.
"I'll place two cards facedown and end my turn" said Chloe.
"Then it's my move", said Jack drawing the top card of his deck. "I play the trap, Synchronised resurrection. Now, since you control at least two synchro monsters, I can summon one from my graveyard that was destroyed. So, welcome back, Red Dragon Archfiend!". His ace monster then reappeared on his field.
"Now! Attack Brionac! Absolute Power Force!" Shouted Jack. Red Dragon Archfiend then released it's attack and destroyed Brionac.
Chloe: 2500 - 700 = 1800
"I'll end my turn" said Jack.
"My move, I draw", said Chloe drawing the top card of her deck. "I play the spell, surface. This card allows me to target one level 3 or below Fish, Aqua or Sea Serpent monster in my grave and special summon it in defence mode. So, rise again, Hexa Spirit". Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I summon Bizzard Defender of the Ice Barrier" said Chloe. Her monster then appeared on the field.
"Now, for the big pay off. I tune my level 1 Hexa Spirit with my level 1 Blizzard and my level 9 Trishula", said Chloe performing the summon. "The glaciers that were frozen for thousands of years give way and release the power of a might roaring avalanche and cover the field in ice and snow. I Synchro Summon! Trishula! Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier!". The large glaciers behind her gave way as her new monster emerged from it. The ice was more sharp and angular and there were red lines in some of the cracks. The eyes were also a fiery yellow. The new creature then roared as a blizzard formed from it.

"Whoa", said Leo sounding impressed. "That's a new monster".
"That is one of her strongest monsters" said Kelsey.
"Since I synchro summoned this card", said Chloe. "I can now-".
"I play my facedown, Power Dampener", said Jack. "Since you're activating an effect, all I have to do is negate the effect of a monster I control and I negated YOUR monster's effect".
"Then it's a good thing I got a back up plan" said Chloe.
"Back up plan?" Asked Jack.
"I play my facedown. The spell, Ice Barrier guardian's breath", said Chloe. "Now, since I have an 'Ice Barrier' synchro monster on my field, I can banish any number of water monsters from my graveyard to weaken your monsters by 300 points for each one. So, I banish, Brionac, Gungnir, Hexa Spirit and Blizzard to decrease the attack of all your monsters by 1200". Ice then started to grown on Red Dragon Archfiend and Battle Fader.

"Now! Attack Red Dragon Archfiend! Freezing Blizzard Triage Blast!" Shouted Chloe. Trishula then fired three beams of freezing cold ice from it's mouths.
"I play my facedown, Indestructishield", said Jack. "Now, since you're attacking my monster, I can negate my monster's destruction and half the damage I take". A large shield then protected Red Dragon Archfiend.
Jack: 1800 - 450 = 1350
"I'll end my turn" said Chloe.
"It all comes down to this folks", said the MC. "Can Jack find a way to come back from this? Or will he be frozen over?".
"It's my turn, I draw", said Jack drawing the top card of his deck. "I play the spell card, Downsize. Now, I get to target 1 monster I control has it's level reduced by 2. And I choose Red Dragon Archfiend".
Red Dragon Archfiend
Level: 8 - 2 = 6
"Next, I summon Sinister Sprocket" said Jack. His monster then appeared on the field.
"Now, I tune my level 1 Sinister Sprocket with my level 1 Battle Fader and my level 6 Red Dragon Archfiend", said Jack performing the summon. "Now, watch as this mighty force becomes even mightier! Fuelled by it's blazing souls of undying strength! I synchro summon! Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!". His new monster looked like Red Dragon Archfiend. Only there were major differences. It was primarily black with red highlights and there were orange markings that looked like scratches. It's two big horns were now orange and one of then had a large chunk missing. It's wings were now black and orange and on it's right arm was silver plating that looked like a shield. But it had cracks in it that showed heat.

The crowd gasped at Jack's new monster.
"When did Jack get that?" Asked Emily.
"I have no idea" answered Yusei.
"Now I play the equip spell, Power Gauntlet", said Jack. "Now, if a Synchro monster I control was summoned with two or more non-Tuner material, that monster gains 1000 attack points".
Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend
ATK: 3000 + 1000 = 4000
"4000 attack points" said April in astonishment.
"Now! Attack Trishula!", shouted Jack. "Scarlight Power Force!". Scarlight's right fist became encased in flames as he punched Trishula through the chest, destroying him.
Chloe: 1800 - 1300 = 500
"That activates my dragon's effect", said Chloe. "I can summon my regular Trishula from my extra deck and make it's attack 3300". Trishula then appeared on her field.
Trishula Dragon of the Ice Barrier
ATK: 2700 + 400 = 3300
"Well, that won't work", said Jack. "Because I'm activating the Scarlight's effect. Now, I can destroy every monster on the field with attack equal or less than him. That includes Trishula. GO! Scarlight Fire Flare!".
Scarlight then released a flare of fire towards Trishula and destroyed it before the flare struck Chloe.
Chloe: 500 - 500 = 0
"And that's that", said the MC. "The winner of the second match is Jack Atlas!". The monster then disappeared. Jack walked over to Chloe and held out his hand.
"That was a well played duel, Chloe", said Jack. "I'm looking forward to a rematch".
"Same to you" said Chloe. The two then shook hands.
Meanwhile.
Akiza was asking out of the bathroom. Unaware that Richard was watching her.
"She may be our best lead" Richard said to himself.
