Do you know the story of the "Celestial Spirit Princess?" Well, it's said that the Celestial Spirit King once had a wife. His wife was able to give him two wonderful children. A boy, age 10, and a girl, barely over 2. One day, while she was visiting a friend, his wife was killed. She was killed due to her magic. Her magic could heal those on death's door. She was the embodiment of Life. Or so the spirits said. The King sent his daughter to a place where she would be safe and kept his son in the spirit world. He sent her to live on Earth Land with a celestial spirit mage. So, 14 years later, after one of his spirits and friends broke his contract with their key holder, which resulted in her death, his punishment was to stay on Earth Land as he had been doing for three months prior. It was by chance that the cast-out spirit came upon the princess three years later. She is now 17 and was able to save him from death and sent him home.
Lucy sat at one of the tables with Natsu, Happy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, and Carla. It was mid-morning and they had just gotten back from bringing Wendy and Carla to Fairy Tail. Wendy was showing off her new guild mark to Carla while Natsu and Happy were busy chowing down dish after dish of food. Erza was enjoying her strawberry cake and Gray had somehow stripped down to his underwear again. Lucy decided to go home and have a nice warm bath after all that had happened. When she got home, she made sure her door and windows were locked. She didn't want Natsu climbing in during the night again. As she lay in the hot water she cupped her hands together and pulled out some of the water. She watched as it slowly rose from her hands and began to dance. The water then dropped back into the tub. It made her think back to when her mother had first shown her how to summon Aquarius. She was about 4 when Layla came to her room. Layla had come with her keys jingling. Lucy sat on her lap, admiring the different colors. Gold and silver keys shone in the sun. They looked so big compared to her tiny hands. Layla removed a gold one from the ring it hung on. It looked to be in the shape of a pitcher or vase. The base had two blue lines on top of each other. They looked like a "U" shape with a small line dashed on each side. She then took a bowl of water she had brought with her and placed the key in. The words would forever be ingrained into Lucy's mind. Something made a crash sound outside the bathroom door which brought Lucy out of her daydream. Lucy got out of the tub, grabbed a towel to wrap around herself, and swung the door open. "NATSU! WHAT PART OF THE DOOR AND WINDOWS BEING LOCKED DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!?" Lucy shouted in the direction of the sound.
Instead of Natsu and Happy laying on the ground holding her pink vase, laid Leo, the leader of the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys, looking very shocked. "Loke! You scared me. What are you doing?" She asked. Leo got up, still holding the vase, and dusted himself off. "I came by cus we felt magic at your place. You were in the tub so I figured I'd wait till you got out. Then, I saw your new vase and wanted to look at it. Next thing I know, I'm laying on the ground with the vase being yelled at." He replied putting it back where it belonged. "What? I can't use magic anymore when I'm alone?" Lucy asked turning around to grab some clothes. Loke followed behind her. "No. You can use the magic required to summon Celestial Spirits, not to make your bath water float or to have food done in a second…" Loke paused to turn Lucy around to face him. "And especially to not heal people." She stared at him in anger. She was angry that the spirits were watching her without her knowledge. "I have not nor will I get caught with doing any of that!" She yanked her arm out of his hand and headed back to the bathroom. "You will be if you keep pulling thoughtless stunts like you did for me!" Loke shot through the door. Lucy swung the door back open, now wearing her pink and yellow pajamas instead of her fluffy white towel. "I SAVED YOU! YOU WERE DYING AND I SENT YOU BACK!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. The two stared at each other in anger and frustration that the other wasn't listening to them. "If they find you…" Loke paused and breathed in to try and claim down. "If they find you, we will try to help you. That's what we are here for. But we, your spirits, can't help if you keep using more magic than what a Celestial mage handles." Lucy was left staring at her empty apartment as Leo returned to the Celestial world. She sighed as the anger wore out of her system. She knew that this was all to keep her safe. "They" had found her once. One of them had even posed as a candidate to be her fiancé to the Heartfilia Konzern. Lucy climbed into bed after turning out the light. As she lay there sleeping, she was unbeknownst to the dark figure grinning as they looked through her window.
The next morning Lucy woke you to an empty bed. "Hu. Natsu must have been busy last night." Shu mumbled to herself. 'That, or my locked windows and door worked for once.' She thought. Lucy got up and went about her way to get dressed, and made breakfast, which consisted of scrabbled eggs, some bacon, a slice of toast, and orange juice. She grabbed her whip and keys and stepped both to her left hip. As she walked to the guild, the street seemed to be as busy as normal. Lucy turned the corner that lead to the guild's doors and came face to face with Natsu and Gray preparing to face off with each other. Again. "Happy! What happened this time?" Lucy shouted to him as she ran up to get a better look at what was happening. "Lucy!" Happy was grinning when she got over to him, Wendy, and Carla. "They wanted to see who was stronger. Do they do this a lot?" Wendy asked. "Ya. When Erza sees this, she'll break it up. It's best to just stay out of this." Lucy explained. The fight lasted a couple of minutes till Erza smacked their heads together, effectively knocking them out. Prior to Erza breaking the fight up, Natsu and Gray had gotten in a couple of good hits. She had only gotten involved when the two of them had torn the front doors down and had made the lose her strawberry cake, again. Everyone started to head into the guild when someone bumped into Lucy. They both fell to the ground. She turned around, rubbing her back from the pain, to see who had made her fall. She froze in both shock and fear at who it was. There, laying on his butt was a tall man with short ditry blond hair swooped to the right, dark brown eyes, and pink lips. His cheekbones were high and a little bit hollowed in. All in all, he look like he would be on the next cover of Sorcerer Magazine. "Ah. Sorry about that. I wasn't looking were I was going." He said as he stood up. Natsu and the others on the team had turned around to see what was happing. Erza was picking Lucy by when he was able to fully stand. "Lucy! I haven't seen you sense we were 5. It's me, Mark. How are you?" He asked. Lucy was in too much shock to answer. Everything around her was just noise. She wanted to run. Leo had been right. He was always right when it came to this. A sudden hand on her shoulder brought Lucy out of her internal panic. Looking to her right, Lucy found Loke, standing in his regular street clothes. "Hey, guys! It's been a bit." He was all smiles. "Hey, Loke! Did you just get back? How'd the mission go?" Natsu asked. "It went good. Long. But good. I also got a new key for Lucy here." Loke thumbed over to Lucy at the mention of a new celestial key. "There's a new sandwich shop that opened since I've been gone. You cool if the two of head over to get something to eat?" Loke asked. Happy got that face like something romantic had happened. "Ya. But you don't date celestial mages though." Natsu stated. His face turned to confusion. "It's not a date!" Lucy shot back. The two of them began to walk off in the direction of the park. When they were out of sight Natsu said, "Wait. There are no new shops in town." No one realized that Mark was gone.
