Chapter Joseph: Jailhouse Jerboa

It was the 8th of May in the gorgeous year of 1983. Dale Gribble and Nelson Thorndyke were doing their daily exercises in Master Oogway's garden.

"You are very good at the Flamingo movements. Both of you are really cool," said the old turtle of wisdom.

The students bowed and then they ate peaches from the peach tree that grew wonderfully along the brook.

"I heard there is a lot of casualties going on at the war right now…" Dale sighed as he put tooth into peach.

Nelson countersighed. "The heroes will win."

"Happiness is overrated…" Dale spat. "Not everything can be hunky-dory, Nitwit Thorndyke!"

Nelson cried and hugged Master Oogway.

"You are fired from my presence, Dale," said Oogway angrily. "You have too much pessimism to be a student of this style."

"I apologise, Master," said Dale, crying now too.

Oogway hugged Dale. "Okay, I forgive you. But if you ever frown again, I will banish you from this entire planet."

Dale did a very large smile, but it was hurting so he had to get clothespins to hold up his cheeks. He got a custom face apparatus on Amazon and then walked through the groovy city of Venice, Italy for all to see.

"Bruh, the war is tragic, but the heroes will rise," said Nelson. "Also, I forgot to mention that my wife is gonna have a bab."

"I hope said bab is endowed with godly traits," said Dale blessedly.

The duo went into a McDonald's and ordered French fries. They saw some shady characters in the corner playing blackjack; this was disgusting.

Dale slammed his steel-toe boot upon the ne'er-do-wells' table. "You are causing a totes bogus atmosphere with your unholy gambling!"

The baddies stood up and took off their masks, revealing ninja masks! "We are ninjas!" they shouted in unison. They then beat up Dale, knocking one of his eyeballs out.

Nelson caught the eyeball and turned it into a bomb using his resourcefulness. He chucked the bomb back at the ninjas and they exploded so many times.

The McDonald's denizens clapped with cheerful adoration for Nelson…

But not for Dale…
