Volume 1 - First Order
Chapter 5: Caster

Wide eyes opened, and she saw not the command room, nor CHALDEAS, but instead a city in flames.
"Olga," she heard Naruto's voice call her, then she realised that her body was within his embrace, but she found herself fine with it for some strange reason; her smaller stature felt smaller within that embrace.
"Let's go; we have someone to meet," he said as he broke the embrace and took her hand as he led her with him.
"Where are we?" she asked, her voice quiet than usual, as she knew something was off.
"A familiar place to myself, but you know this as the Spatial Singularity F," said another voice, and Olga looked to see Arturia, armoured as usual. Her sword, unsheathed from its sheath, called Avalon, which the Director returned to her.
"And we stumbled on a Holy Grail War, or at the very least, the aftermath of one.
Story Start.
-Chaldea's Command Room: 26th June A.D. 2017-
Romani stumbled upon the damaged command room, just in time for the Rayshift to actually proceed, when the system sensed Ritsuka, who ran to the coffin chamber because he wanted to find Mash, who was there when the room exploded, now, the poor rookie was pulled to Singularity F, and he had to make sure they're safe.
"Romani, calm down," a familiar voice came from behind him, and he turned to see the Chaplain and Ophelia, whom he noted to have a new mystic code.
"Vice-Director!" exclaimed Romani, both in joy and surprise, but the Chaplain shrugged him off as he nodded to Ophelia, who immediately moved to tend to those wounded and used her magecraft to heal what she could.
"Tend to the dead; I will commence the operation," he ordered as he took a seat at the helm of the command room.
Ophelia aided Romani as some of the surviving staff entered the room and helped them; meanwhile, the Vice-Director counted the seconds as they passed. Then, after a certain amount passed by, he contacted the Director.
The screen opened, and there he was, the Director, together with the Co-Director, as well as the King of Knights, amidst the fiery remains of a city familiar to some and a mystery to others.
"Director."
"Yeah, I know, the Rayshift did not pull us here. Fujimaru and Mashmallow were the ones that did, just as you said would happen."
"Not only that, I can feel a certain someone, a filth at the end of this place," said Naruto while Olga turned her head towards him, once again, filled with questions.
"What are you talking about?" Olga's amber eyes honed into his blue ones, but he brushed it off.
"Not now, 6 o'clock!"
Arturia immediately drew Excalibur, and a beam of light destroyed an already burning block alongside the skeletal assailants.
"…" Arturia raised an eyebrow at the damage, then turned towards her master.
"I summoned you, not Chaldea's system." Naruto just shrugged his shoulders as if he expected the results; meanwhile, Olga stared at the destruction with a confused face.
"…"
"…"
"Director! Behind you!" Naruto heard Mash from a distance, but little did she know, it was already well within his sights.
Doryūheki.
It was a whisper, yet those in the vicinity heard it nonetheless, and the effect was immediate and blocked an explosion. Naruto's extreme sensory power picked up the source of the attack before it even came, and it was from a servant, an Archer from afar.
"You could have warned us, Father," he called out to his communication device, and the face of the Chaplain showed up on the hologram with an amused smile.
"I could, but I knew you already sensed it. Thus, it would be for naught."
Naruto groaned and rolled his eyes, "Romani would have panicked and immediately warned us… and stop talking like that."
"Of course, he would, which is precisely why I have him tending to the wounded right now with Ophelia… also, why ever not, young sir? 'tis my pattern of speech, normal and succinct, just the way that I am," replied the Vice-Director and the Director sighed and turned away from the hologram.
"Nothing about you is normal, old man, but regardless, we need to move on, and you to watch the radar."
"Affirmative."
The Chaldea group traversed the streets between the embers of the dead city, towards the source of that nasty energy, as the Director put it, while Olga remained silent, surprisingly. Naruto thought she would already bring up all her questions now that they had a quiet time as they travelled.
Of course, Olga was troubled in her mind, but she did not air out those questions that plagued her; pride as an Animusphere came first, but then, all that failed when she heard Lev's name being mentioned.
Her fixation with that one is unhealthy. Everyone, from the Director to the Chaplain, to Da Vinci, and even Romani, knew that, yet only Naruto brought it up to her face in their confrontations.
"What are you talking about? Lev would never do such a thing!" she exclaimed, but Naruto trod forward to the school that they could see at a distance.
"Why not? Ever since I took control of Chaldea, he's been nothing but an obstacle to our success, and your fixation with him blinds you from the truth. His curated image has fooled many, including you," he retorted as he walked on, while Arturia kept a watchful eye as they travelled, having no intention to join the drama between the two.
Ritsuka and Mash trailed behind them, silent as they followed.
In the command room, where everyone could hear them, Father Aurelius mapped out the singularity through his link with the Director, also having no interest in jumping at the drama unfolding, which is why he ordered silence in the room while Romani meticulously patched up some of the staff, and Ophelia quietly did the same.
"What truth?" she asked, and Naruto finally glanced at her.
"The fact that he is not what you think he is, and he has been working against us from the very start, all of it, leading to the attack today; that Olga, is the truth. Now be silent, and think about it before speaking; there is a servant nearby. Mash, let's put that shield to the test."
Mash immediately jumped in front of them, where there was an empty walking lane, or so it seemed. Ritsuka stood near the Director and Co-Director, while Arturia readied for combat at Naruto's side.
A voice then echoed from their surroundings.
"Hoh… what is this? Visitors in my garden?"
The moment the group walked into the vicinity of the school, the area was surrounded by chains, and a hooded woman appeared atop the chains, a scythe-like spear in one hand.
Ritsuka clenched his teeth as he felt the presence of that woman, while Mash narrowed her eyes and stood in front of them, shielding them from any attack.
"Did… did that woman Rayshift with us?" he voiced his question, and a reply immediately came from the Director.
"No, she's been here before we all did, and that, kid, is a servant."
The change in Mash was immediate, and her eyes showed seriousness and inexperience. With many things in her mind, Olga stared at her, and one of them surfaced.
"Did you force her into your bidding?" Her voice was calm, which surprised Naruto, but she paid no heed and waited for an answer.
Mash was taken aback at the question directed to her master and replied immediately, "That's not it, Co-Director; I forced it onto him."
Arturia did not want that conversation to continue and decided to act.
"Engaging enemy servant, designation: Lancer."
Just like that, Saber and Lancer clashed, from which they all immediately saw the difference in their styles; Saber: precise, ordered, and robust; Lancer: fast and flexible.
"Two beautiful women fighting, wonderful," muttered the Director before Olga elbowed his side, which rendered him amused.
"Medusa!" He called out the Lancer servant, which interrupted her focus, and led to Arturia gaining the upper hand through a beam of light that struck true.
The pale-skinned Lancer glared at Naruto after she crashed to the ground. Arturia stood, sword ready, not far from her.
"Nothing just wanted to say hi, before my dear Arturia kicks your nice ass."
The Saber servant sent a dry look to her master while the opposing servant was infuriated; then, the battle was resumed as earthen seats rose from behind the watchers.
"Fujimaru, take a seat with Mashmallow and enjoy the show," he said while the two teenagers did what he told them in silence; meanwhile, Olga was flabbergasted.
"…" she just gawked at the two servants who matched blow by blow, but despite her stunned silence, she knew it was not a close match, and within her mind, she theorised what Naruto could have done prior to summoning this servant.
Arturia dominated the altered Medusa in their bout; the ground shook and sundered, beams of light broke through the darkened skies, and the fires that engulfed the city of Fuyuki still roared with fury.
Eyes focused on the duel, and within herself, Arturia knew that victory belonged to her. Still, with this newfound empowered self, she found herself wanting to test it so that she could understand how much her master had empowered her when he summoned her through his powers.
"Right… there!"
Narrowed green eyes struck true, Excalibur found Medusa's right arm, and silence ensued; but only for a moment. As the lance fell to the ground, the sound of metal falling in cobblestone rang across the area.
Fujimaru balked at the sight, while Mash found herself uncomfortable as she watched as blood pool at the Lancer's feet.
Olga was horrified at the sight, while Naruto himself whistled in surprise; he did not expect Arturia to cut off a limb during that duel.
"Well, that's your girl right there," quipped Kurama, which made his friend roll his eyes at hearing those words, but he did not add any comment; instead, he crossed his arms and watched his servant, who remained on guard and silent.
Medusa gritted her teeth in anger while her opponent just watched her with cold eyes.
Two women stared at each other; one was like the calm before the storm, the other a raging storm.
This standstill finally allowed Mash to reflect on the sudden turn of events; she thought of many questions at her seat, but one surfaced to the forefront of her mind.
"Why is there a servant here?"
Even Olga contemplated the same question, but she suppressed it in favour of wondering about Lev Lainur, someone she wanted to see at that moment; another was the fact that the last of the general candidates is now a Master of Chaldea.
As Co-Director, it was still her responsibility to oversee Chaldea and its staff. So, at this moment of silence, she realised something and needed to ensure Fujimaru knew it.
"… Fujimaru," she called out the silenced master.
"Do you understand why Naruto prevented you and Mash from fighting?" The young master shook his head negative while Mash listened with full attention.
"Listen now and listen well; never get in your servant's way. A servant is the most powerful familiar in the world of magecraft. They are the summoned quantum bodies of this planet's memories…" she explained as Fujimaru listened attentively while the standstill continued.
"… the heroes, their great exploits… the very concept of human history, know this, a human stepping into a battle between servants is sheer suicide, which is why Naruto let his servant fight for him, rather than himself fighting."
There was nothing but silence from Fujimaru when Olga finished, but it was cut short when Naruto finally spoke.
"Small correction: I allowed Arturia to fight because I want to watch two ladies duke it out, and my girl is winning right now, so…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
Arturia wanted to retort but found herself forming a small smile, but quashed it immediately as she went for the kill.
Blood poured out of her mouth, and nary a word came.
Medusa's eyes were wide in surprise; there was a burst of speed, then a sword through her heart, her core. She fell to her knees, shocked at the unexpected turn of events; she had things to do, but now, nothing.
"I hope you come to Chaldea; it's a nice place."
It was the last thing she heard before she vanished into the aether.
"…"
"Holy shit! That was brutal, seriously! I never expected that from Saber," a new voice exclaimed from nearby, a man from the sound and intonation of his voice.
Naruto rolled his eyes as he recognised the voice, "Come out here, Cu Chulainn!"
"Oi! You don't drop a servant's true name like that!" And there he was, clad in the robes of a druid, staff in one hand; his blue hair danced with the wind.
Arturia sheathed her sword at the hidden signal of her master as they faced the newcomer, the servant Caster, it would seem, or Cu Chulainn, as her master called him.
"Hmph… Ireland's Child of Light in another iteration of Fuyuki, how… pedestrian."
With an amused smile, she strode forward and stood beside her master as Caster approached them.
"Hello, Sétanta," greeted Naruto, while Caster cringed hard, as evident from his reaction.
Clearing his throat, Cu Chulainn relaxed near a wall, "Please don't call me that, old man Naruto."
"Ho, you remember me?" Naruto crossed his arms while Caster rolled his eyes towards him.
Mash and Ritsuka were confused, Olga even more so, as this was another servant, and a non-hostile one, despite the fact that this one came from here in Singularity F and not from Chaldea.
Cu waved him off and crossed his arms, his staff leaning on the wall, "Of course I do, old man. Memories of you from all those years ago are imprinted in my Spirit Origin, but I didn't expect to see you here."
The Director grinned darkly, and Sétanta did not like that grin.
"Oh, is that so? Does that mean you remember the fact that you defiled my daughter?!"
"Ah, shit."
A/N: Yes, in this story, Uathach is Naruto and Scáthach's daughter, and yes, Arturia knows Scáthach, as evident from another chapter.
She'll be here, eventually.
