Chapter II: Announcement

2008

*Ring!*

"Everyone! Get ready for your next assignment. The Reich depends on you! Get ready to meet with your officers and eat breakfast!"

An alarm rang, waking up all of the occupants in the room. The room was filled with bunkers and closets next to them. Everyone stood up and began to put on their uniforms. They already knew what to do right when the alarm rang. Put on their uniform and walk out in a straight line.

Two of the occupants Wehner, who is young and average-sized for someone like him, He had short brown hair with blue eyes, and almost could be identified as the "perfect" human by the Reich standard.

His friend Krantz is similar to his friend Wehner. He is average and has blue eyes, but has blonde hair, making him "perfect" for what he is serving for. Both are doing their normal routine of getting themselves prepared to meet up with their officer.

"Same as always, right Wehner?"

"Yea, I hope something interesting happens today. Like possibly more obstacle training, right? "

Both friends were talking to each other as usual. Krantz brought up one thing to Wehner that they have been hearing about for quite a while.

"I wonder about the super weapon they have been building."

Wehner replied back to Krantz, "You really bring that up again? I already heard about it, I don't know, five times today. "

Krantz said, "What? It sounds interesting alright. "

"Yea, yea, but we barely know about it other than that it exists alright."

Krantz finished his conversation by saying, "Alright. Wait, we have arrived!"

Wehner said, "Good, I get to enjoy breakfast for a moment."

Meanwhile

in an office. An old man stands besides a table. The table is covered in miniatures and battle plans for the Earth's now, he wasn't planning any invasion but just looking at the miniatures, preparing for the next meeting so they could continue discussing their battle plans. The man appeared to begin coughing. Grabbing a napkin from one of his pockets and covering his mouth with it.

He coughed again and set his napkin to the side to grab something satisfying. Something that is considered a luxury around here on the moon. Chocolate. He grabbed several packs of chocolates from his office desk that he kept hidden and ate some for himself. But before he could continue with his luxury, a knock was heard from the door.

The man behind the door said, "My leader."

"Come in," said the leader.

"My leader, there's something you need to see."

Mayer greeted the leader in a different way than usual. Respect. Both hate each other in some ways, like power, but what Mayer brought up today with the leader is something different. They set aside their differences to tell him about the news.

"What now, Mayer?" "Can't you see that I'm busy? " As he was hiding his chocolates back in one of the drawers,

"Sir, this is about the super weapon."

The leader immediately stopped what he was doing and looked at Mayer. He responded to him with a calmer voice about the weapon.

"The super weapon? Is it working? "

"No, my leader. But it's still about the weapon. "

Feeling disappointed but still interested in checking it out, he stood up and walked up to him.

"Now, get my men, I want them here asap!"

"Alright, my leader."

Minutes later…..

"Gentlemen, Project Götterdämmerung. A weapon that has been under construction for 40 years now. A dream from our leader himself. The machine was too strong to be powered by our available computers. It was only a dream. Until today. "

"Go ahead."

Mayer gave his small presentation to all of the men in the room. Including the leader, who stands at the center of all of them. Mayer raised his hand in the air to signal the main engineer of the room to speak.

"Our men on earth recently discovered something revolutionary, my leader. Something that can power the super weapon. This device has more power than all of our computer systems combined. The device is called the I-Phone. Well, that's what the earthlings call it. Now anyways,"

The engineer pulled something out of his pocket and showed it to all of the men in the room. It was a stolen IPhone, the first generation. All were impressed by the small size of it, including the leader and Mayer. Afterwards, he opened up the panels behind him, which were full of wires, and placed the phone there. He would continue to describe the discovery while setting up the machine so it could turn on.

He soon plugged in the phone and placed it inside the wired panels, where he turned on the machine. To their surprise, it turned on. This was the first time that something great was going to happen. They can finally launch their invasion after years of construction and power failures to their super weapon.

But just as before, anything that could happen, a dead battery icon appeared on the iPhone, turning off the machine all together. The rest stand confused, wondering what happened. Mayer, on the other handHe knew how powerful the device could be. He walked up to take the device to inspect it himself. Soon, speaking out to the men in the room.

"Gentlemen, this is our way to glory! We need more of these devices on Earth. "

Mayer looked at the leader and walked up to him.

"My leader, I need to head down to Earth. I can get more of these devices for ourselves. Think of all of your wildest dreams coming true. Our dreams. "

After staying silent for a while, the leader responded back.

"After thinking about Mayer, yes. You better bring more devices and, as well as extras, more information about our enemies down there. Remember who we are doing it for, the Reich."

"Thank you, sir. Your request will surely be fulfilled. "

Before leaving, Mayer gave a final salute to the leader and walked out of the room. He would enter the command center and issue orders to all of them.

"Gentlemen, I want to set up another expedition to the earth. This time I will lead the expedition. "

"Uhh ok."

"Don't just stand there. GET MOVING! "

"Alright, Mr. Mayer!"

Days later...

Wehner was sitting by himself at the moment in the cafeteria. He was just eating while on break after a day of training and military exercise. A tray was placed on the table he was sitting on. He looked up to notice that it was his friend, Krantz. Krantz sat down after placing his tray and started talking to Wehner.

"What did you get, comrade?"

"The usual, canned beans with bread like every day."

Krantz, not surprised since he basically eats the same thing as Wehner, moved on from the food topic to talk about something else.

"Wehner. Do you ever think that we will be doing the same thing for the rest of our lives?

Wehner responded after swallowing his food. "Yea, I think about that a lot."

"Wehner, I believe that we might stay stuck here on the moon for the rest of our lives. Our leaders have barely said anything about the invasion. Don't you think? "

Wehner, believing that it's not true, responded to Krantz.

Krantz: We may stay here forever, but that doesn't mean that we won't stop serving our nation. Our cause. You are the reason why I am able to prove to my father that I can join the Wehrmacht. Together, comrades. We can achieve something for the Reich. But for now, we have to accept what reality offers us. "

Coincidentally, an announcement was played in the cafeteria.

"Attention soldiers of the Reich, a new operation was just announced. Go ahead and sign up to join the operation, once you are accepted. Proceeds to meet up with Ulrich Mayer."

"Until today."

"Hahahaha, life."
