Chapter III: The Expedition
A group of soldiers are marching in three rows. Wehner and Krantz were among the group. Both are excited that they will finally achieve their goals and do something glorious for the state they are serving. Both are silent during their march since speaking out during a march will lead to punishment for both of them.
Exiting out of the halls leads to a large, open area with rows of spacecraft for them. Their vision was blocked due to their masks, but they were able to make out what they saw; two spacecraft waiting for them. One was a troop transport, while the other was a supply transport. Their leader was waiting in the front for Mayer's men to enter. Mayer was also there in front of the entrance of the leading spacecraft of the expedition.
Once they arrived, they all stopped and entered the spacecraft. Krantz took a small deep breath and whispered, "Here we go." He then marched to his assigned spacecraft with Wehner behind him. While this was going on, Mayer, the leader, approached Mayer about the expedition.
"Mayer, remember what you will be dealing with. Some of our men disappeared down there without a trace. "
Mayer made a small smirk and said, "Relax, my leader." I know what I am doing. My men are very efficient at their jobs. Now where's the iPhone? "
A group of scientists with a box in their hand approached him, saying, "Here, Mr. Mayer."
Mayer, confused, said, "Is the IPhone inside?"
"Yes, Mayer. It's there for protection. "
"Alright... now my leader." I won't fail you or the Reich. Gentlemen!"
Mayer yelled to his bodyguard to enter the spacecraft. While waking up to the spacecraft, each of the bodyguards saluted the leader since it's their protocol to greet the leader like that. Mayer entered the spacecraft last after they entered and ordered the pilots to take off. The leader stands still while the flying saucers take off from their landing pads. He said to himself, "See you in Valhalla." He took out a small piece of chocolate for himself and ate it. His loyal officers, who were next to the leader, questioned what he was eating.
"My leader, what is that?"
"Shhh, let him enjoy it."
A squad of Rheingold took off from one of the domes of the capital building, leaving the moon in orbit and beginning their voyage to Earth. As for Wehner and Krantz, they sat down with other soldiers next to them. Krantz wondered what they would see when they landed on Earth. Poverty? Death? Or dystopia? That's his guest. For now, they have to wait and see what Earth waits for them.
A Day Later…..
The expedition force is near the atmosphere of Earth. Mayer noticed that they were arriving on Earth and picked up a wired walkie-talkie and gave his first order to the expeditionary force.
"Attention soldiers of the Reich, this is Ulrich Mayer speaking. We are approaching Planet Earth. Prepare for the takeoff in 10 minutes. Our destination is Nordamerika."
"We are here." whispered Wehner. The two flying saucers would soon enter the atmosphere. Their final destination: Canada. They would soon land in the forest, where it's sparsely populated.
"Caution with landing pilot."
It was night time. The flying saucers are surrounded by the two spacecraft opened up their doors, Ulrich Mayer walked out of the leading spacecraft, taking his first deep breath of fresh oxygen on Earth. "Ahhh, so this is Earth." Two of his bodyguards walked out of the spacecraft to accompany him. Mayer walked around a little to inspect the area. He soon ordered the troops to walk out of the spacecraft and begin organizing a minor outpost for them to stay.
Wehner and Krantz walked out of the spacecraft. Krantz was amazed that he was finally on Earth. He told himself that this was his chance to do the right thing for the Reich. Wehner, on the other hand, was amazed by Krantz but only thought about the task he was given. They were grabbing several boxes containing their country's symbol on the side of them.
They placed it near a boreal tree to sit on and relax for a moment, appreciating the surroundings. Krantz said, "We did it Wehner."
Wehner said, "Did what?"
"Land on Earth. Our destiny awaits us. "
"Yea, Krantz. Look at the sky. It really looks different. Puffs floating and stars at the same time. "
Krantz responded to Wehner while looking at the clouds in the sky. "Those puffs could be the dystopian smoke that they told us about."
"Yea."
Before they could continue their conversation, Mayer yelled for all of his forces to come and line up.
"Krantz, let's go."
Mayer stands in front of one of the spacecraft. Behind him are two bodyguards with modified STG-44 in their hands. All the moontroopers form a straight line in front of Mayer. Mayer soon gave his orders to his troopers.
"Gentlemen, as you see, we are on Earth. It may all look nice, but don't be fooled; this is a dystopian hellscape that you should not fall for. Earthlings are aggressive, so don't try to talk to one for much longer. Your objective is to retrieve one of these devices here. "
Mayer ordered one of the bodyguards to give him a small box. Inside the box containing the IPhone. He opened it up and grabbed it, raising his arm to show all the troopers the device he was talking about.
"This is the device you all need to find. It's called the IPhone by the earthlings. My men will begin passing papers about the IPhone. After that, I'll assign you to several groups and you'll begin looking for the IPhone the next day. You will need to blend in with the earthlings with this assigned clothing. I am grabbing it right now. If you ever have a conversation with an Earthling, never bring up the Reich or the that understood? "
"Heil!"
"Good. Now get preparing for tomorrow! "
The Next Day
It was the morning. All the troopers had already headed out with their discises, including Wehner and Krantz. For Mayer, he stayed at the outpost. Once they were all gone, Mayer ordered his special units to arrive on Earth for something that he had in mind. To explore the surroundings and see what the Earthlings had created. They would arrive and land near the existing outpost to establish a new one for their goals. The special units were similar to the Moontroopers, but they were darker and had a coat. A distinct feature of their uniforms were the arm bands, something that all the moontroopers didn't have.
The arm band is colored red with a diamond in the center of it. It bears a small glove with a sword piercing through it. It resembles the old symbol that the Thrid Reich once had, but without the glove and the eagle being in the center instead.
The special forces, dubbed "Mayer's Little Army" by the Reich officials on the moon, soon arrive to meet Mayer himself. They all saluted Mayer once they stopped walking. Mayer soon spoke to all of his men about the true objective of the mission.
"Greetings, gentlemen. I'm glad you arrived just in time. I have given you a special task for the mission before our invasion begins. You will have to map out the surroundings and discover what the Earthlings are hiding from us: food, technology, entertainment, beliefs, etc. "
Being a strong believer in mystical powers and spirits, he proceeds to talk about the "true" objectives. He took a deep breath and soon continued his speech.
"There's something I should tell you before you start your mission. All those things I said are secondary objectives. The true objective is to find a place that holds mystical powers. We know that it exists because of an earthling incident that happened 6 years ago. One of our men on Earth reported seeing a mysterious shape-shifting earthling that transformed into a large, powerful beast. It's located near us in a settlement called Toronto.
This power can allow someone to transform into something large and powerful. I need to find the owner of the temple and kidnap them. We need to harness its power for ourselves so we can all become unstoppable. We can dominate the Reich once the degenerate Kortzfleisch is gone. Now, no questions and get moving! "
"Heil Mayer!"
