Chapter IV: Lost

Canada, near Toronto

It was noon. A group of 10 marched into a forest. Wehner and Krantz were among them. The leader of the group was a officer who volunteered for the expedition. We'll call him the officer. The officer was in front of the squad, dawning a grey officer's uniform with no cap on his head. The rest of the group had stolen clothes that the Reich took during their time on the moon.

Clothing ranged from the 1970s all the way to the early 2000s. Krantz and Wehner were dressed in early 2000s officer wasn't going to get involved with any of these operations and instead stayed hidden in public while hand signaling to his squad. The squad appears to be lost and unable to locate any of the major cities that Mayer directed them to locate.

Suddenly, they got the news. The officer heard the car's sounds. He quickly ordered the squad to follow him and hide behind the bush. The officer peaked his head out of the bush and noticed a freeway and a gas station. He didn't care about either of them. Instead, he looked at the crown of his eyes, Toronto. The city itself was 42km from where they were. He also noticed something that caught his attention: a Burcedes-Menz van parked at the gas station.

The occupants stopped to take a break at the gasoline station, and while they were gone, the officer ordered them to steal the car, GTA style. The officer chose Wehner to steal the car and gave him his baton to use. Wehner saluted the officer and began his objective. Krantz whispered a compliment to Wehner for having an important objective.

Wehner walked out of the bush and approached the van. There was already an occupant in the van. A father who was organizing his van in the back. It happened that he had the keys in his pocket when that was happening. Wehner tapped his back and said "Earthling, don't mind if I..."

*hits the father with the baton*

The single hit knocked the father out in an instant. Wehner signaled to the rest that all was clear. The rest popped out of the bush and ran to the van. They all began removing all their personal belongings from the van to give more space to the group. Wehner grabbed the key from one of the pockets and gave it to the officer. The officer sat in the driver's seat of the van and drove off.

The rest of the family came back with snacks in their hands and only found an empty parking lot with the father lying on the ground with their personal belongings on the ground.

"Why is Daddy sleeping, Mommy?"

The squad was arriving in Toronto. Krantz congratulated Wehner for his actions, since, you know, they are friends. As for the officer, he is just too busy driving and messing around with modern technology. One thing that caught his attention was the radio. It can play music, news, and other media. Something that isn't part of the vehicle is back on the moon.

The officer kept changing to different media until something started broadcasting on the radio. I stopped to listen to what it was saying.

"Attention, citizens of Ontario. The official reported that a Bercedes-Menz van was stolen at a gas station. If you see a van that is gray and has a suspicious driver, please report it to the authorities immediately! "

Knowing English, the driver freaked out. If they are caught, their whole plans can be foiled. Before anything could happen, the van crashed into a car. causing traffic. The squad abandoned the scene and ran down to the entrance of the freeway. The group was caught by a crowd of "earthlings" minding their own business. Wehner and Krantz were pushed away from their group as the group was escaping the crowd.

Wehner and Krantz tried to call them out for help, but to no avail. They are now lost in the world of Toronto. Wehner and Krantz were pushed into a bus stop, where they sat down, wondering what had just happened. Krantz spoke to Wehner in a distressed way.

"Wehner, we are damn lost. How didn't they notice us? "

Wehner responded to Krantz's but with a small angry tone.

"I failed the Reich. I had a chance of greatness, and look at where we ended up. Lost in the world of earthlings. We are doomed. "

Krantz, despite losing, decided that now isn't the time to accept defeat.

"Wehner, don't say that. We still have each other. We can't just say that we are doomed. "

"Krantz, take a look around; there are only earthlings everywhere. We don't even know a damn thing about them. "

Kranfz begins to try to convince him. Wehner, remember that I told you to convince your father to join the army?"

"Yea, I remember."

"Remember that you impressed the instructor with your amazing shooting skills or with my defensive skills?"

"Krantz."

"Remember that..."

Wehner placed his hand on Krantz's mouth and responded to Krantz's motivational speech.

"Krantz, you've already convinced me. I guess you are right. Not everything is lost."

"Wonderful Wehner. Now how do we survive? "

Wehner easily thought about the solution.

"We can try to blend in with the earthlings. How hard can it be? "

"Hm, great idea. We have an easy objective anyway. Just get the iPhone and then we're out of here. "

Before they could continue their conversation, a 30 year old man appeared in front of them. He spoke to them in a nice manor.

"Uh, German tourist, are you going to take the bus or what? It's here and you are just there taking up space like me?"

Krantz switched his language to English and responded back to the 30-year-old man. He tried his best to speak to him without making the whole thing awkward for him.

"Uhhh no."

He quickly grabbed Wehner's left hand and whispered, "Let's go." The man just watched them go away and thought to himself. "Weirdos."

Krantz and Wehner began walking around the bush streets of Toronto. Only this time it was less busy than it was before. Krantz pulled out the iPhone paper that they received from Mayer and tried to hide it from public view so they could look for the device. Luck might have struck for them and they found an Apple Store.

Seeing that the store logo has the Apple logo that they see on the paper, they believe that they have found their goal. Easy, right? Well, they will find out. They walked into the store, and they saw so many iPhones in front of their eyes. Krantz saw a person receiving an iPhone in front of the counter and believed that that's where you receive the phone.

"There it is. That's where you get the iPhone, Wehner. "

Wehner responded, "That was easy."

Krantz approached the counter and said, "Hello Earthling, can I have that precious iPhone for myself?"

The counter responded to Krantz's question with a suspicious face. "Alright. Do you want to sign a phone plan and pay 20 dollars a month? "

Krantz, confused, said, "Ma'm, all I just want is the phone. Can you just give it to me already? "

The counter responded, "Sir, you have to pay for it and sign the contract. It's needed."

Krantz responded to her statement in an angry manner. "Dame, just give me the phone now."

The woman behind the counter yelled "Security!"

Krantz was apprehended by two security guards. Krantz began struggling, trying to free himself while yelling out curse words at her.

"YOU SOME OF A BITCH, GIVE ME THE PHONE. YOU GAVE ONE TO SOMEONE AND YOU ARE REFUSING!"

The security guards threw Krantz out of the store. One of them yelled, "Get a job, moron!" Wehner stared at the guards and soon stared at Krantz lying on the floor. He walked out of the store and picked him up. He soon asked him if he was OK.

"You OK, comrade?"

Krantz responded with a grunt at the beginning of his sentence.

"I'm...ok... this is truly dystopian."

Wehner responded, "Krantz, they want you to pay for it. I'm afraid to say that we need an earthling job. "

"Shit! Don't say that. How do we know that they do around here? "

"Remember your speech to me?"

Krantz grunted. "You win. Before we get a job, we have to explore the area to see what it has. I'm interested to see what type of Earthlings inhabit here. "

Wehner thought about it for a little while, soon agreeing. Both walked away from the Apple store and wondered around the endless mazes of Toronto.
