Chapter Eight – Some comfort, Some Reading, Some Cuddling and a Fight of the Year
Pyrrha gasped as she woke up, the feeling of falling into a dark void while Cinder laughed haunting her. What Jaune had to do during the fight… The glee and anger that Cinder felt… Pyrrha took a deep breath to try and calm herself down.
Pyrrha could hear grunts and gasps from Jaune which pulled her attention to him. She was cuddled up against him, her head on his shoulder, her chest pressed into his, their legs tangled together. Her arms tight around him, her hands grasping onto him. Pyrrha loosened her grip and sighed into Jaune.
Thankfully Jaune was still asleep, so Pyrrha, trying to relax, repositioned her arms slightly and gently hugged Jaune. Feeling some calm returning Pyrrha exhaled slowly and cuddled closer against Jaune. His warmth slowly filling her. His solid form an anchor for her. Pyrrha nuzzled into Jaune's shoulder.
Jaune was here with her, not in Atlas fighting Cinder, not traumatized from killing Penny. Pyrrha tightened her hug slightly. And if she had anything to say about it, which Pyrrha knew she did, Jaune would never be put in that sort of position. Having to save everyone from a bad plan gone wrong.
Pyrrha could still feel the echo of Jaune's emotions, the rage, the hate, the anger, the sadness, the regret and the guilt. And Pyrrha could start feeling her own anger building. At Atlas, at team RWBY, at Cinder, at Salem, at Ozpin, at a world that did nothing much for Jaune.
Pyrrha nuzzled more into Jaune, trying to keep her movements gentle and her touches light. From what she saw out the corner of her eye it was still very early and Jaune deserved to sleep. Though along with all the other feelings she felt a spike of annoyance.
It was going so well for her, sure she knew that she wasn't done with the aftereffects of the vision. But over the last weeks she had no real nightmares and just a few… episodes… Her closeness with Jaune, mostly accepting the vision and the feelings of friendship and happiness from her team and friends kept the worst of the effects of her vision away.
Pyrrha wondered what brought on this vision/nightmare, the fight with the Grimm? The upcoming fight with team RWBY? Maybe the training itself? Whatever the cause, Pyrrha did not like it.
As Pyrrha went through what could have triggered her nightmare she heard grumbling and groaning coming from Jaune. All of which made his chest rumble. Pyrrha blinked and pulled her head back to see Jaune's face. His eyes were squeezed shut as he frowned. His lips twitching with each sound.
Was Jaune having a bad dream?
Pyrrha repositioned herself slightly in Jaune's arms and pulled Jaune down a bit. Letting his head come to rest on her chest. A sudden thought wondering if Jaune would like a boob pillow crossed her mind. Which made Pyrrha wonder where that thought came from and if she was spending too much time with Yang…
Jaune tightening his grip on her pulled her out of that thought. Pyrrha squeezed Jaune closer to her and started petting his head. Feeling Jaune's soft, fluffy hair run through her fingers. Pyrrha continued petting Jaune as she pressed his face further into her breasts. A blush growing on her face.
Jaune kept mumbling and grumbling into her breasts, his breath hot and his grip on her kept tightening. Pyrrha laid her head on Jaune's as she moved to rub his back. Which was all kinds of tense. Pyrrha could feel Jaune's muscles hard and tight. She focused on rubbing them, almost massaging them.
Pyrrha was unfortunately pretty thankful for whatever bad dream Jaune was having as it forced her from focusing on her dark vision. Helping Jaune was helping her as well. Which made Pyrrha smile and pull Jaune even more into her. He was now squeezed against her breasts, their legs a tangled mess, his arms tight around her.
His breathing changed into gasps, sending large huffs of heated breaths onto her breasts with every gasp. Pyrrha felt herself warming up until what sounded like a strangled sob came from Jaune. What nightmare could he be having? That sound came with Jaune tightening his grip so much that it became kind of painful.
Pyrrha started whispering calming, comforting things to Jaune while starting to shake him gently. Almost rocking him back and forth in her arms. All the while rubbing his back. Thankfully after a moment she felt Jaune loosen his grip and stop that heartbreaking sound.
She heard him gasp loudly and then mumble a soft "What?".
Jaune came to violently, with a sharp loud gasp. The waking world was rapidly introduced to him via warmth and something that was firm and soft and smelled great, if slightly musty, moist. Jaune mumbled a soft "What?" wondering where he was, this was definitely not his pillow. A quiet "Jaune?" caught his attention.
Jaune pulled himself back from wherever he had his face squished against and blinked in the darkness. From the low amounts of light in the room he just made out Pyrrha's face, up above his. "Pyrrha?" he asked still out of it slightly.
"Hi Jaune, it sounded like you had a bad dream." Pyrrha said filling him in on some details. As the rest of the situation became clearer, Jaune blinked and then blushed horribly. If Pyrrha's face was above him then where he had his face squished against was… oh Gods. How did Pyrrha let him sleep like that?
With that the rest of his sleeping position rushed in, his arms were wrapped around Pyrrha's back tightly, their legs were tangled together and his dick, like expected, was now growing against her thigh. Jaune groaned softly and without thinking about it pressed his face back on Pyrrha's boobs. After a second Jaune realized where his face was, blushed even more, and with a sudden movement forced himself back.
Unfortunately for Jaune, Pyrrha's arms were still wrapped around his back so he didn't move back as far as he would have liked. So Jaune just looked down while stuttering "Oh Gods, I'm so sorry Pyrrha, I was sleeping and I didn't put my head there on purpose and just now I…." He was cut off by Pyrrha putting a finger on his lips.
Pyrrha smiled softly at Jaune, he was so adorable when he was panicked like this. The great weight that came from feeling Jaune killing Penny eased a bit more, the darkness that came with that feeling lifted a bit. As Jaune looked up at her expectedly Pyrrha kept her finger on his lips and brought up her other hand to place against his head.
"It's okay Jaune, I moved your head against my… um… chest while you where having your bad dream as it seemed to calm you down." Pyrrha said blushing, she continued before Jaune could interrupt her "You were making terribly distressing sounds… are you okay? Do you want to talk about your dream?"
To emphasize her point Pyrrha pulled a shocked Jaune's head back against her chest and started to pet his hair again. After a few heavy breaths and groans she could feel Jaune relax in her arms. His head rested more heavily against her chest, his arms loosened a bit around her and move higher up her back to her shoulders, their legs were still tangled up. And she could feel a favorite part of his growing against her leg. Pyrrha rested her head against Jaune's and smiled into his hair.
Jaune was in a strange state. One he never felt before. He was shocked and embarrassed and confused and warm, relaxed, comfortable. Jaune was shocked that Pyrrha would move his head to rest against her… chest. But it sounded like a Pyrrha thing to do, to just comfort him with no regard for how it looked like. He was horribly embarrassed for both having his face in Pyrrha's boobs and for… enjoying it so much…
Jaune wondered how much some other guys would give to be where he was now. Though that thought ended with Jaune feeling uncharacteristically annoyed and… unhappy… maybe even a bit possessive… Jaune came to realize that he would be very unhappy if any other guy found himself in this position with Pyrrha. Jaune groaned softly into Pyrrha's boobs at that thought and wondered what happened to him.
Though Pyrrha and Yang being boob to boob would be a sight to see. And Ruby cuddling against Pyrrha would be adorable.
Anyways, Jaune pulled himself from those thoughts and relaxed into Pyrrha, accepting the warmth and comfort that she offered. And not believing his continued luck that Pyrrha was so comfortable with touching him… or was that a curse? Ever since he came to terms with how attractive he found Pyrrha, during that breakfast, their continued closeness was so… ugh… Jaune didn't have words for it. Good, bad, great, terrible…
Jaune sighed again and had to stop himself from cuddling or nuzzling Pyrrha's boobs, no matter how comfortable she was with him, he felt like that was crossing a line. He turned his attention to what Pyrrha asked… what did she ask? To talk about his dream… he honestly didn't remember much.
"I'm okay Pyrrha" Jaune said still squished against her boobs "I actually can't remember what I was dreaming about, just that there was a lot of red and black…"
Pyrrha could feel Jaune's breathing warm her chest again. And when he talked, that was a strange feeling. Not bad, but… heated, rumbly… Pyrrha really didn't mind it. That Jaune couldn't remember his dream was unfortunate, she really wanted… needed to know what caused Jaune to sob. That sob was a sound that Pyrrha never wanted to hear again.
Pyrrha sighed and just held Jaune tighter. Running one hand through his hair and using the other to rub his back. She could feel Jaune's head rest even more against her breasts and smiled. She was pleased that Jaune was getting more and more comfortable with her. She knew that he was worried about touching something he shouldn't or going too far. When that was just the thing that Pyrrha wanted him to do…
Pulling herself from that great thought, her certain future where Jaune went as far with her as she wanted him to, Pyrrha smiled even wider into Jaune's hair. "Okay, just know that if you ever need to talk about something, anything, I will be here to listen." She said as she squeezed Jaune even more into her.
Jaune smiled, that was classic Pyrrha "I know Pyrrha, did I really sound that bad?" he asked curious about his apparent nightmare.
He felt Pyrrha nod against his head "You were making unhappy noises and became very tense. While hugging me hard enough that it started to hurt. But then you started making these sobbing sounds. Thankfully you woke up quickly afterwards." She said much to Jaune's confusion. What nightmare did he have?
Did he wake up Pyrrha because of his nightmare? "Thanks for calming me down… Sorry if I woke you up because of my bad dream." Jaune said a bit sad if he actually did wake Pyrrha up so early when she had such an important and busy day today. A fight with all of team RWBY would not be easy, no matter how good Pyrrha was.
Pyrrha sighed "You didn't wake me up, I was already awake because of a darker part of my vision that I dreamed about, which woke me up." Though she was pleased that Jaune was thankful and that he cared about her sleep.
"Oh, that… uh that's bad, are you okay?" Jaune asked, one hand now rubbing Pyrrha's back, his other hand running through her silky hair. Feeling her firm muscles shift as she rubbed his neck and back now.
Pyrrha squeezed Jaune tight for a moment "I'm good, just got reminded about something that needs to be changed."
Silence returned to the room as Pyrrha and Jaune continued to try and reassure each other that they were there for each other and would do anything to help.
Pyrrha smiled softly relaxing into Jaune more and more as her own tension left her. Jaune was so warm and comfortable. The weight of his head of her breasts was a new feeling, but one she would gladly feel again. It felt like she was keeping him safe. Like he was hers. Like he was about to start nuzzling her breasts, or touching them… Massaging them… Pyrrha had to hold back a very pleased shudder.
It was a very gentle, but strong feeling, having him in her arms, squished against her. "It's still very early, let's get a couple hours more sleep." She said as she nuzzled into Jaune's soft hair and held him closer. Jaune really was such a great sleeping companion… unfortunately just for sleep now… Though she could not help but be scared of the day when Jaune would no longer want to sleep with her, or more likely decide that she was okay enough to sleep in her own bed.
Jaune smiled into Pyrrha's boobs, something he never thought he would do. Much less be in a position to do. But here he was, squished against her boobs by Pyrrha herself. And now that his mind was mostly clear of sleep, he could feel how… awesome… glorious… great… good it was. He always imagined what he would do to a girl's boobs. But now that his face was pressed into them…
Jaune didn't really count his sleep caused touches as he didn't really feel them. There were a few other times when he accidentally touched Pyrrha boobs, both in bed with her and when walking or cuddled against her. But those times were short and generally he was trying to pay as little attention to the touches as possible.
Lest he be too affected or noticed.
The feeling of her boobs against his chest or back when he woke up was something else, something he never thought he would experience with someone as… hot… great… attractive as Pyrrha. And it always felt so great, so warm and firm and it brought this need up in him to touch them. Not that he ever even thought about acting on it. How could he when Pyrrha needed comfort, not to be touched unwantedly.
But now… Jaune knew that Pyrrha had probably the best pair… maybe second best pair in first year, depending on how you counted Yang's. And one of the best in all of Beacon. Pyrrha was a ridiculously attractive woman and he now had his head squished against her awesome boobs. Jaune felt like something went wrong with the world to cause this. How was he in this position now?
Why did Pyrrha rest his head on her boobs?
Why was Pyrrha relaxing against him while he had his head squished into her boobs?
Jaune felt like he was close to bursting… something… he could feel a massive blush on his face and neck. And feel like he was probably the biggest… hardest… he ever was. But his face was in Pyrrha's boobs, so understandable. He felt like his hands just kept twitching. Jaune knew he needed to calm down before he did something stupid… or just jumped out of bed. To run away from the temptation.
Jaune closed his eyes and took a deep breath, smelling Pyrrha's unique and pretty great scent. Plus something extra from where his face was. That something extra was causing him to be even more scattered brain than he normally was when he was this close to Pyrrha. But he took a couple more breaths trying to focus a bit. All the while feeling like his dick was one move away from tearing his pajama pants apart.
His mind kept looping and the temptation to touch them with more that his face grew so much, it was all Jaune could do to just hug Pyrrha tighter and rub her back. Just to give his hands something to do. But that brought other problems as well…
Jaune was pulled out of his boob related thoughts by Pyrrha saying that they should get some sleep. Jaune without thinking nodded. He nodded against Pyrrha's boobs. But aside from Pyrrha nuzzling into his hair, she didn't do anything. Was she even more comfortable with him than he thought?
Would she let him go further…
At that thought Jaune opened his eyes and felt… dirty… what was he thinking, this was Pyrrha. She was comforting him after his nightmare, seeking some comfort because of her vision and here he was thinking about taking advantage of where he was. Taking advantage of Pyrrha. Her trust.
Jaune closed his eyes on focused of Pyrrha's warmth, her firm body, her rubbing his back. He needed to take his mind off Pyrrha's boobs or he would do something that would hurt Pyrrha. And that was one thing that he would never do. The sight of Pyrrha hurt, in pain, after the vision still haunted him.
Jaune relaxed some more into Pyrrha and let her warmth and heartbeat ease him back to sleep. Today would be a busy day after all.
Pyrrha just kept smiling into Jaune's hair, unaware of the minor crisis that she caused Jaune to go through. Pyrrha felt herself relax more and more. Jaune's warmth and fluffy hair making it a bit too easy to move on from her vision. From the maelstrom of emotions that stayed in her because of the vision.
But today would be a busy day, she would be fighting team RWBY and she really wanted to drive her point of how dangerous Cinder is to them. Pyrrha wasn't 100% sure she could win. But, Weiss didn't have her most powerful abilities, glyphs yet, Yang and Blake weren't as in sync as they would become. Same with Ruby and Weiss. They would need a few more months to sync up fighting styles. And they would be as hopeless as always when they fought human targets together. So she had a pretty good chance.
Though unfortunately they never actually got to be properly in sync with each other last time. None of her friends really did, Nora and Ren were the closest. And that was something else that Pyrrha wanted this fight to show them. She needed the girls to fight better together. Fight human sized targets better together, not in pairs, but as a foursome.
Pyrrha sighed lightly into Jaune's hair, ruffling it a bit. She cuddled him even more against her and tightened her arms around him. She really hoped that like with being the big spoon, Jaune would let her cuddle him to her again. That he would let her hold him. There was something addicting holding Jaune like this.
Pyrrha nuzzled her nose deeper into Jaune's hair and smiled. She would just have to do her best and have her friends do their best in the fight. Hopefully even if the outcome was not in her favor she could still help team RWBY get better.
There were also a few concerns that Pyrrha could feel growing as well. Filling her mind in the current quiet. The changes in the schedule, the teacher's odd behavior, team RWBY's sudden closeness to her team, Jaune's better fighting skills and if she was not mistaken the greater amount of students. It was all… odd…
Pyrrha made peace with Jaune's increased fighting abilities and what that would mean. But now… too many other things weren't adding up properly. She came to two possible conclusions, one, that she was in another… world… reality. And two, that the vision she had was about another reality and this one she was in was her own. Though either way the… realities… were similar enough that she found that she didn't care much.
It was the same as with the realization she had about Jaune, she was here now, everyone was as makes no difference the same, and she would need to make sure that this life, her life now, didn't go the same as her vision life.
Pyrrha was pulled from her existential thoughts by Jaune nuzzling her breasts. An interesting feeling. A very interesting feeling. It felt oddly good. Especially when his nose went over her nipple. It was a feeling she would gladly feel again. Though she did have to bite her cheek to stop a pleased groan from escaping.
Pyrrha let out a silent laugh, here she was going over what world, what life she was in. Stressing about how to show her friends how dangerous their enemies would be. When she had a cuddling Jaune in her arms. Something that never happened last time. Something she dreamed and hoped for last time. Something she never got to enjoy. And it was so enjoyable having him in her arms, cuddled against her.
She had a sudden thought that maybe this world… life… reality… was somehow tilted her way and she hoped that that would actually be true. How else would she have gotten so close to Jaune so quickly…
Pyrrha wiggled herself deeper into the mattress, feeling Jaune's hard and large thing rub against her leg while wiggling. And Pyrrha let out a deeply content groan as she felt so very comfortable. Deeper thoughts could wait until later, now she was still sleepy, she was comfortable, she was warm and she had Jaune in her arms.
Pyrrha could honestly say that her life was so great at this moment.
- Scene Break -
A little while after Pyrrha fell into a deeply comfortable sleep and Jaune continued to unconsciously enjoy Pyrrha's breasts, on the other side of the hallway Weiss was not having a good night.
Weiss went to bed early to make sure that she was ready for their fight with Pyrrha. The fight was more than just an example that Pyrrha wanted to show them, it was her chance to make up for her laughably terrible fight with her during training. And it was a chance to show her, her team and Pyrrha how good she was…
But the night did not go Weiss's way, after a few hours of calm sleep she was woken up by a ridiculous nightmare, Winter was there in the audience watching her fight Pyrrha and after her loss Winter was so disappointed in her. So much so that Winter said she was no longer her sister and that she would never see her again. And every time Weiss tried to scream at Winter to come back, her sister just kept walking away.
It was a terrible dream in one way, it left her gasping, twitching and sweating when she woke up. Weiss had to roll over and plant her face in her pillow to quiet down her gasps and deep breathing. And to stop the urge to call for her sister.
And it was a nonsensical dream in every other way, Weiss knew that her sister wouldn't act like that, but a dream was a dream. And a nightmare was a nightmare. Weiss shuddered and pulled her covers up around her. She took some deep breathes to try and calm down, maybe get some more sleep, but…
Since waking up Weiss spent the next hour just trying to fall asleep and failing. She kept tossing and turning. And the result of all of that failure made her too tense to actually fall asleep. She rolled over onto her back and sighed loudly into the quiet of the room. Well the almost quiet of the room.
Her teammates, the sleep traitors that they are, were all asleep. She could just make out Ruby's light wheezy breathes above her. Thankfully Ruby was a quiet sleeper that didn't move too much during the night. Across from her she could see Yang sleeping deeply, covers half kicked off just covering her legs, tank top riding up showing her stomach. Yang was unfortunately a very active and noisy sleeper and it took her and Blake almost three weeks to get used to the noise Yang made when she slept. Thankfully Yang didn't snore.
Weiss did wonder what the guys of Beacon would think, knowing that sleeping with Yang would likely get you kicked or punched or kneed or elbowed during the night.
Blake was a very quiet sleeper, unusually so, she didn't move or make any noise. It was a bit strange, but Weiss was thankful that Yang was the worst sleeper out of them.
Weiss sighed again and tried to relax, it was still over an hour before even Blake would start waking up and they all would be fighting Pyrrha later in the day, so they needed their rest. Unfortunately that needed rest was proving elusive for her.
So Weiss did what she always did when she couldn't sleep and started reading on her scroll. Not really looking at anything or studying anything, but just browsing, reading some Vale news here and Atlas news there. Catching up on any news she might have missed about the SDC. Making sure that she knew if her father did anything stupid or wrong.
Not seeing anything that caught her attention, she began looking into what Jaune said over the weekend, she knew that the Arcs were a well known and respected Huntsman and warrior family, but nobles… she needed to see the evidence before she believed that. A few minutes of searching caused her to feel stunned.
What the… the Arcs actually were nobles once upon a time… During the old Vale kingdom they ruled a fair bit of land and were known to be hunters, knights, soldiers and teachers. And it looked like they were nobles for centuries. They actually already had their lands before the old Vale kingdom was even formed. The Arcs helped create the old Vale Kingdom?
Weiss had to close her eyes from the sheer… unexpectedness of what Jaune said being true. She could not see Jaune being some noble, ordering servants around or following stuffy formal behavior. Behavior she had to follow her whole life in Atlas.
Weiss found herself slightly annoyed that Jaune had this… proud family legacy and no requirements to meet or behaviors forced down on him. Like what was done to her by her father because she was a Schnee… Her father wasn't even a Schnee, he married into the family and acted like the Schnees were so above everyone else that it was kind of distressing… sad…
But here were the Arcs, an ancient family, nobles for most of their existence… Weiss wondered what her father would have done if those types of families were still around, nobles and lords. Something her family, as rich as they were, would not have been an equal to… Maybe even treated as rich upstarts and bullied politically…
Weiss expected that she would have been married off to such a family the second her father would have been able to make a marriage happen… Imagine, her married off to Jaune just so her father could seal some political deal… Weiss Arc… that just sounded off… wrong…
Weiss sighed and wondered if she was reading too many historical romance novels. Lord and ladies, court intrigue, political machinations, and love in the face of it all. Weiss found the books oddly enjoyable, but now that she was seeing some of the lead male characters and romantic interest as Jaune… well Weiss may need to find some other books to read…
Weiss rolled over onto her side and kept looking through some very old family portraits of the Arcs, it looked like their looks stayed the same for centuries, tall, blond hair, blue eyes. Weiss wondered how the genetics worked with the Arcs. Would her hypothetical, forced political marriage, politically forced kids with Jaune have the Arc look or would they inherent the Schnee slimmer builds and white hair…
Although Winter with blonde hair and blue eyes would actually look like an Arc… Huh… And you know now that Weiss was thinking about it, so would her mother… Why did she get her small body again? Lucky Arcs… Though speaking of kids and looks, that also always brought up a small back of the mind thought that she had from time to time. Her brother and her looked similar enough, but Winter? Did Winter have a different father?
Weiss shook her head to get rid of those weird thoughts.
She kept scrolling through the portraits and pictures of various Arcs until she saw something strange. It was a picture of two male Arcs, named Louis and Francis, and three black haired cat Faunus, all with the same last name, Belladonna. The female Faunus even looked a lot like Blake. Same eye colour, same hair colour, very similar body shape. No first names though…
Weiss glanced up at Blake's bed. She didn't really know anything about Blake's family. Blake mentioned that she had parents and Pyrrha mentioned them as well. But Blake never talked about them… so why? Could Blake be a Faunus?
Weiss knew it was a stretch, just because someone had the same last name and similar looks did not mean that they were related… but still… Weiss started looking for Belladonnas now, any public records or pictures. She knew that Ghira was tied with the White Fang, but what about other members of the family…
After a while of looking around she found that yes, Ghira and his wife were tied to the White Fang, they created the modern peaceful protest version of it… before Sienna Khan took over and made the White Fang into the violent organization it was now.
But there were other Belladonnas tied to Faunus rights groups and fights throughout recent history, based on what she saw. There were human Belladonnas as well, but they didn't look anything like Blake… Kali Belladonna though, Ghira's wife, she looked a lot like Blake.
And it really looked like two of those in that picture were Ghira and Kali when they were younger, like 20 years younger…
Weiss didn't have anything against Faunuses, she did despise the White Fang and any faunus involved in killing for that cause. She knew that her family and the faunus weren't on good terms. Weiss wasn't so blind as not to see how little her father cared for the faunus working for the SDC in Atlas or anywhere really. She could only guess how badly treated they were outside of the main cities.
Though to give her father a little credit… or take more credit away from him… he wasn't really racist, he just didn't care about anyone, human or faunus. He just cared about profits. No matter how many people had to suffer to make those profits for him. For the SDC.
Weiss sighed sadly, reminding herself just how terrible her father was. And how much work she would have to do to fix the SDC. And her family's reputation…
She looked at the time and was slightly shocked with how much time she spent looking for information about Jaune's and possibly Blake's families. Though what she found did bring up a question, if Blake really was a faunus, then how should she approach it?
Blake was clearly hiding that she was a faunus, if she was one. So confronting her about it seemed like a bad idea. Maybe she could drop some hints… though if Blake wasn't a faunus then that would be embarrassing and potentially very awkward.
Weiss let out a deep breathe as she rolled back onto her back. She took the chance to stretch her legs, arms and back as she did so. That felt so good.
In any case, there were more important things to focus on. The fight with Pyrrha, the rest of the training with Goodwitch and her team's coordination when fighting together. Blake being a faunus could be addressed later and Jaune's family history never.
Weiss turned over onto her side after putting her scroll away and tried to relax again. She needed all the sleep she could get for today. And after her little adventure into family histories, she did actually feel more relaxed. Only her occasional stray thoughts about marriage and kids with Jaune made her tense up.
After a short while Weiss started to drift off and joined the rest of her team in the land of sleep.
- Scene Break -
A too short time later Pyrrha was hearing the alarm clock going off. That was annoying and a bit unfortunate as she spent the last few minutes enjoying holding Jaune. Seeing and feeling him nuzzle into her breasts. It looked so cute and felt good.
Pyrrha could not stop herself from squeezing Jaune tighter against her and grumbling into his hair. It wasn't fair. Why did the training start at 8, it was supposed to be their week off. All Pyrrha wanted to do was to just cuddle in Jaune's bed all day. Holding him like this was a rare treat for her and she wanted to enjoy it.
But life and the future called… Ugh…
As Pyrrha grumbled and mumbled how unfair life was, Jaune woke up in a very pleasant place. Jaune could feel warmth all around him and after his mind lost most of its immediate sleepiness, where he was came to Jaune very quickly.
He was where we was when he fell asleep. Being cuddled by Pyrrha, his face pressed, squeezed really against Pyrrha's boobs. Gods, Pyrrha's boobs, he remembered the freak out he had during the night because of Pyrrha holding his head against he boobs.
They were great.
And unfortunately they caused Jaune's morning problem to be far worse. Jaune groaned into Pyrrha's boobs and felt her pat his head.
"Good morning Jaune, I feel the same way, I don't really want to get up for a morning training lesson." Pyrrha said in a kind and understanding tone as she cuddled him even more.
Which caused his face to press even more into Pyrrha's boobs… which caused his problem to grow even worse… Pyrrha was not understanding him at all. His problem wasn't the training, it was where his face was, where his hands were, where his legs were. Where his dick was pressing against.
Gods he really didn't know how long he could keep himself together, being so close to Pyrrha was bad for his health. And his mental state. For some reason he still thought that Pyrrha wanted to do something with him or even have sex with him. Which was of course still a hilarious thought. Him and Pyrrha…
He groaned again and felt Pyrrha hug him even tighter… thanks Pyrrha…
Pyrrha smiled as she was hugging Jaune, she knew how much he didn't want to get out of bed because she was feeling the same way. But what kind of friend and teammate and partner and… future girlfriend would she be if she just let Jaune get away with not waking up. No matter how adorable he was at the moment.
Pyrrha let out a breath and pulled the covers down, let go of Jaune and got up. As she looked down at Jaune she saw his erection that was pressed against her thigh bounce a little in Jaune's loose sleeping pants. Gods it was big. Pyrrha still didn't know if it would fit in her. Sure she was tall, almost the same height as Jaune, but did she have that much room inside her.
Pyrrha felt a smirk grow and her face heat up at that thought. She so wanted to find out.
Her eyes moving up to Jaune's face showed his massive blush as he realized that she was looking at his erection. Good, thought Pyrrha, let him know what she was interested. But his blushing face and scrambling hands to grab the blanket was so adorable.
Pyrrha had to shake her head to move past those thoughts. She needed to focus today and constantly thinking of Jaune wouldn't lead to that.
Pyrrha smiled at Jaune "Unfortunately we have to get to breakfast in less than 30 minutes and then we have to get to class before 8. So we don't have much time."
Jaune groaned again as he watched Pyrrha walk into the bathroom. Did she know what she was doing to him? Did she have to move her hips like that? And that look on her face as she looked at his dick, he never saw one like that before. It sent jolts down his spine and even more blood to his dick.
Jaune sighed loudly as he turned his body as not to show Nora or Ren the bulge in his blanket.
- Scene Break -
A little while later found team JNPR walking down to the cafeteria where they met an uneasy looking team RWBY. And a tired and annoyed looking Weiss.
Jaune blinked and leaned down to ask Ruby "Morning Ruby, did you have a good night? Um, what's up with Weiss?"
Ruby smiled up at Jaune "Morning Jaune, I had a good night, but Weiss didn't. She said that she couldn't fall asleep after she woke up in the middle of the night." Poor Weiss, she worked herself up so much because of the fight with Pyrrha.
Jaune frowned "That sucks for Weiss, you think she will be good to fight Pyrrha with the rest of your team?" Weiss looked very stressed in Jaune's eyes.
Ruby mirrored Jaune's frown "She said that she would be, maybe after today's training lecture she could have a nap…" Ruby tilted her head thinking if Weiss would actually do that. Weiss wasn't one for naps and today was really weighing on Weiss's mind.
What Ruby didn't realize was how close Jaune got to talk with her as quietly as they were. As Ruby tilted her head, her head pressed against Jaune's upper arm. Ruby blinked at the sudden and unexpected feeling on the side of her head and looked to the side.
It was Jaune, she just laid her head on Jaune's arm. Ruby blinked again and felt a blush grow. She looked ahead at the rest of their teams who were walking a few steps in front of them. What she saw wasn't good.
Yang was smirking at her, Nora was smiling at her and Pyrrha was looking at her with a questioning look. Ruby gave them three a weak smile and wondered why Jaune wasn't doing anything about her resting her head on his surprisingly firm upper arm. Why wasn't she…
Jaune looked down at Ruby when she rested her head on his arm. You know, he never really thought about how… small Ruby was. She was such a positive and happy presence and kickass fighter that he never really thought that Ruby wasn't an imposing figure. She was short and not built like her older sister…
Jaune did wonder why she put her head on his arm, maybe she was tired as well or maybe she wanted some 'guy bestie' time. She did look cute like that though. Jaune had a sudden impulse to gather Ruby up in his arms and cuddle her. What did that come from…
Jaune looked up to see Pyrrha looking at him with a questioning look and a raised eyebrow. Jaune just shrugged one shoulder back not knowing why Ruby did what she did. And trying not think about cuddling Ruby even more. But…
Jaune looked down "You still sleepy? Yeah me too, 8 am training is a pain to wake up for." He then wrapped his arm around Ruby's shoulder. Her head moved from resting against his arm to resting against his chest now. He tightened his arm around Ruby just a bit in case Ruby did want to relax on their way to the cafeteria.
Ruby felt a blush explode on her face and down her neck as she was basically cuddled into Jaune's side. No. She didn't want this, she moved her head by accident. She didn't want to get so close to Jaune out in the open. Especially where her sister and Pyrrha! could see.
With one eye she looked towards Pyrrha and saw that she was talking with Yang and Blake. Unfortunately for poor Ruby, Yang was giving her a thumbs up behind her back.
Nooooooo, Yaaaaang, that was wrong. Why was Yang getting the wrong idea? Was Yang distracting Pyrrha because she thought that her little sister wanted to get closer to Jaune?
Ruby didn't know her blush could deepen even more. Her face was so red.
Ruby looked up at Jaune's face, a happy little smile and happy eyes. Ugh, why was Jaune acting cute. Ruby didn't know that Jaune could even be cute… She didn't really want to hurt him… And she wasn't getting as much time with Jaune as she would have liked, especially over the last 2 weeks…
Maybe it wouldn't hurt… she would have to explain herself to Pyrrha, not something that Ruby was looking forward to. And she would have to talk with Yang, before Yang began saying or doing anything else. Like maybe threatening Jaune to treat her little sister good.
So with a bit of wariness Ruby leaned more against Jaune and smiled up at him. She saw his smile widen at her smile and that was… nice. This was nice. Jaune was warm and she felt… content… safe? It was a weird feeling, like she wouldn't have to worry if Jaune was beside her like this. It was a similar feeling to what Yang gave her or even her team and friends.
But more… and warmer…
So a surprisingly happy Ruby, a confused but happy Jaune, a confused and bit suspicious but distracted Pyrrha, a smirking and happy Yang and a tired Blake, Weiss, Nora and Ren all made their way to their table in the cafeteria. Ruby pressed against Jaune raising some eyebrows.
And unknowingly and a bit unfortunately starting two rumors: one, that Ruby wanted to steal Jaune from Pyrrha and two that Ruby and Pyrrha were working out a way to share Jaune.
The sharing rumor became pretty popular with a group of second and third years who all thought that it was very cute. With one third year girl swearing that she saw Ruby and Pyrrha cuddling with Jaune in the common room one time.
A group of other students did not share in their classmate's and schoolmate's view. For them it was the opposite. Jaune already had Pyrrha hanging all over him, he did not need another good looking girl. They started glaring at Jaune who was very confused at what he could have possibly done to cause the glares.
And a third, smaller group of students believed the rumor that Ruby and Pyrrha were fighting over Jaune. Mostly because of the potential drama, the writing inspiration and the glorious, glorious relationship angst. They so wanted to see it and experience it.
Teams JNPR and RWBY, not knowing any of these rumors until far later ate their breakfast and made their way to the classroom were the training would be. Arguing on the way what Tactics could be.
- Scene Break -
Tactics was something none of them was expecting. It was Port and Oobleck going over Huntsman strategies for specific situations. And general situations. And in the case of a few from Port, made-up situations.
The experience of Port and Oobleck lecturing at the same time was… jarring… Oobleck's rapid talking and questioning combined with Port's loud and energetic storytelling. It brought many of the students for a loop. Pyrrha could see even Weiss looking blankly at the two teachers at times.
From what Pyrrha saw, the two of them were actually pretty good commentators for the tournament, but teaching at the same time… yeah this was new. And Pyrrha wasn't sure she liked it. And the less said about her notes for this training session the better.
Though at times it was interesting. Especially when Jaune answered a question and his answer made Oobleck ask many, many follow up questions. Pyrrha had a very strong sense that Jaune's standing went up quite a bit in the eyes of Oobleck. Probably not Port since Jaune wasn't loud and was most of the time a practical sort.
The training session went on, to the bewilderment of the students, for a while with no real issues. Apart from some back and forth on when to engage and how to deploy teams. For which everyone had their own idea of what was best. The back and forth dragged on for a bit, much to Port's happiness.
Until they hit on how to deal with civilian rescues during Grimm attacks.
That very surprisingly to Pyrrha led to an argument between Jaune and Ruby of all people. Ruby being Ruby wanted to save anyone that could be saved, even if that lead to a more dangerous or risky defence strategy. And Jaune, probably channeling his father, was thinking about saving who could be saved at the moment, protecting them and then going to look for survivors.
They went back and forth on the point of having Huntsmen leaving defensive lines or having them stop defending survivors to look for other survivors. Seeing them disagree and argue, even in the polite way that they were was unsettling… wrong.
They disagreed a couple times in the future, especially about Ozpin, but even in those situations them arguing seemed wrong. Like it was a thing that shouldn't be happening.
Thankfully none of the other students added much to the argument apart from either agreeing with Ruby or Jaune. Though Yang had to throw in her two lien which didn't help anything.
The argument as very adorably solved by Jaune and Ruby agreeing to work out a plan for their teams if a situation like that should happen. With the goal being to save anyone they could in the end. No matter how much of his father's complaining he heard and took in unconsciously, Jaune still wanted to be a hero. Unfortunately.
Pyrrha made a mental note to see if she could push him slightly away from wanting to be a hero, to something that was more of a practical or realistic hero. Though Pyrrha didn't want him to lose that optimistic and determined outlook. Like he did in the future, last time.
And then Ruby and Jaune hugged in the middle of class. Which did annoy Pyrrha just slightly at how forward and touchy Ruby was being. Shouldn't she have been too shy to do that? Though the hug didn't last long since Yang had to do a wolf whistle which snapped Ruby out of whatever state of mind let her hug Jaune in front of the whole first year.
The rest of the training was more of the same and after what felt like a very long time they were finally released.
Team RWBY vanished afterwards, probably to prepare for their fight which left her team free to finally go to lunch. Listening to Port and Oobleck talk sure did build up an appetite.
Pyrrha immediately got cozy at Jaune's side as they walked to the cafeteria and talked about the more interesting parts of the training discussion. Ren had plenty of opinions, probably due to what happened to his town, and him and Jaune discussed them on the way.
Even Nora jumped in from time to time to comment or make her point.
Lunch was over a bit too quickly for Pyrrha's tastes today and she could feel herself going somewhat apprehensive about the fight with team RWBY. Pyrrha challenged them in the moment to make certain that they knew how dangerous Cinder was.
But they were still one of the best teams in Beacon for a reason. They were all skilled fighters. And they all had terribly unfair semblances. Weiss basically had magic. Ruby had the ultimate dash attack or retreat. Blake had the ultimate dodge move that could even help with attacks. And last but not least Yang had an honest to Gods rebound ability.
Pyrrha was half convinced that team RWBY was somehow formed on purpose by Ozpin. She knew from what Jaune learned last time that Ozpin specifically recruited Ruby and talked with Blake. And probably guaranteed something for Weiss. Did he know even back then… now… that they would be fighting Salem?
The new generation to replace their parents… for Yang and Ruby at least.
So yeah, even though Pyrrha was pretty sure she could win by exploiting their lack of teamwork and her knowledge of their fighting styles. It will not be an easy win. Pyrrha guessed that with was even odds on who would win, but she did have a few advantages… hopefully…
Pyrrha sighed lightly as she and her team walked back to the dorms to get her ready for the fight. Even though she still had a few hours. Maybe she could relax a bit…
- Scene Break -
A few hours later found Pyrrha standing by the arena and just wondering why so many people were coming to watch the fight. She knew that Nora spread the news about the fight on the Beacon message boards and in several student chats. But still…
And Pyrrha did know what she was famous for, but honestly, why did so many people have a Wednesday afternoon free?
Pyrrha sighed as she saw that Goodwitch was making her way down to the arena while Port and Oobleck took their seats up by the doors. She even saw Ozpin up on the highest level looking at everyone who came. And making eye contact with her a few times.
Thankfully Jaune and her team were down right by the arena smiling at her. Nora even had little Pyrrha flags, which were cute. And in her colours. Though she was waving them a bit too hard, Ren just managing to dodge a flag in the eye while Jaune got hit by Nora's arm.
Ouch, that looked painful…
Pyrrha smiled and waved at them which caused Nora to wave the flags even harder. Which caused Jaune to take a not so subtle step away from Nora. Which Nora noticed and brought Jaune into a headlock for his sin of moving away from her.
Pyrrha chuckled at the sight, Jaune begging her for her help with his eyes while being jerked around by Nora. Nora herself waving the flags and cheering her name and Ren lightly smiling at Nora and Jaune. Though Ren was doing a very good job of avoiding both Jaune's look and Nora's arm.
Pyrrha's attention was pulled from her team when she heard the crowd start talking louder and when at the same time she saw Goodwitch stepping up onto the arena. Team RWBY was here. Pyrrha turned around and saw them making their way towards the arena.
Yang smiled widely as she stepped up the couple of steps onto the arena, where Goodwitch was already waiting for them and where Pyrrha was walking towards as well.
Yang did not like the calm and happy look on Pyrrha's face. Like facing team RWBY was just a normal thing that Pyrrha did which she didn't need to worry about. Behind her Yang knew that her team all had more worried or pensive looks.
Yang did not like that either. She knew that her team could win, but it wouldn't be an easy fight. She guessed that their odds of winning were 50/50. With her specifically taking a lot of the responsibility for the win. Yang needed to keep Pyrrha busy and distracted while at the same time not getting in the way of her team too much and not using her semblance until the end of the fight.
Yang rolled her shoulders and rotated her neck as she looked at Pyrrha's calm face.
Blake saw Yang psych herself up as the rest of her team came to a stop beside Yang. Blake was not happy that this fight was happening, since she was pulled into it without Weiss or Yang asking her opinion. But she owed it to her team and she was curious at how team RWBY would do against Pyrrha.
Blake tried to give some advice on how to fight as a unit without saying too much, especially from where she knew these things. But a few days wasn't all that much time to get her team working as a single unit. Hell, there were squads in the White Fang that even after years still couldn't get teamwork down.
And unfortunately for Blake the more she said, the more Weiss looked at her oddly. Blake so did not want to open the White Fang door with Weiss, Gods only knew what could happen because of that. Did Weiss suspect anything?
Blake shook her head and closed her eyes. She let the loud crowd above her fade, and tried to center herself for the fight against Pyrrha.
Weiss was doing her breathing exercises as she stood beside Ruby and looked at Pyrrha's calm face. Was Pyrrha not nervous at all? And from where did all these students come to watch their fight? Weiss let out a breath and rolled her shoulders.
It didn't really matter, Weiss was used to crowds looking at her and she knew that Pyrrha did consider her team as a challenge. She would do her best here and fight Pyrrha. Her role wasn't so hard, based on the strategy that they came up with she would choose her moments and attack Pyrrha. While at the same time not hitting Yang or Blake.
Weiss just wanted Pyrrha to look just a little bit concerned…
Ruby held on to her weak smile with all she had. Where did all the people come from and why did they want to watch their fight so badly? And the teachers, she could see most of them up in the stands. That just made her even more nervous.
And Pyrrha, Ruby could not believe that Pyrrha had such a calm look on her face…
Ruby looked over to her team and nodded. They trained for this, they could do this. So what if Pyrrha always beat them one on one, so what if everyone was watching… Ruby shook her head and tried to focus on Goodwitch as she went over the rules of the fight.
Wait what?
Before Ruby could refocus herself properly she heard Goodwitch yell out "GO!" and on pure reflex she jumped back and pulled out her weapon. In the few moments after the fight started Ruby could see Weiss hop back as well and Blake run off to the right. Yang brought her arms up and stepped forward to engage with Pyrrha.
And this is when it started to go wrong for her team.
Ruby could only watch with shocked eyes, while she deployed her weapon. As Pyrrha, being faster than Yang, stepped into Yang's left side and then nearly slid around Yang's left side, around a punch, to trip Yang with her spear. A hard push from Pyrrha caused Yang to fall forward, very unluckily, into Blake. Who had to stop her attack and dodge.
Ruby just about got ready to shoot Pyrrha when she had to stop and run 7 degrees clockwise because Weiss jumped in with an ice shot targeted at Pyrrha. Unfortunately Weiss got in her way. And Pyrrha dodged the ice shot which almost hit Yang on the floor. Yang had to roll away at the last second to not get hit.
The delay in her shot wasn't good as when Ruby finally got her shot off Pyrrha noticed and blocked it. So Ruby planned a semblance powered attack run once she found her opening. Which she wasn't seeing…
Ruby saw Pyrrha dodge another one of Weiss's dust shots while smacking Yang in the head with her spear during the dodge. Which kept Yang on the ground. Pyrrha than threw an elbow and shield at Blake. How did Pyrrha know where Blake would be? But that was her opening so Ruby dashed forward at Pyrrha.
A second later Ruby slashed at Pyrrha who got her spear up, but thankfully a moment too late, and Ruby scored a partial hit on Pyrrha's side. Unfortunately for Ruby just before she could engage her semblance to dash away Pyrrha slashed at her with the edge of the shield. Which did make contact and ate a chunk of her aura. And stung.
A moment after that Ruby got away and dropped her semblance near the edge of the arena to look at taking a shot. She saw Weiss getting hit by Pyrrha's spear as Weiss used a glyph to accelerate her attack on Pyrrha with her sword. Pyrrha shifted to the right and dodged Weiss while hitting her on the hip.
Fortunately for team RWBY, Blake managed to take a slash at Pyrrha which Pyrrha could only partially block with her shield. And in even more good news, during that exchange Ruby saw that Yang managed to jump up towards Pyrrha. Though her team's bad luck returned as Pyrrha managed to duck under Yang, while at the same time dodging another slash from Blake.
This forced Ruby to reposition again to get a better shot as she didn't want to get in the middle of Pyrrha, Yang and Blake. She got her chance a second later but unfortunately Ruby's shot missed Pyrrha and almost hit Blake in the foot when they all moved around at the last second due to a sudden kick from Yang.
Yang growled as she threw another punch at Pyrrha who deflected it away with her shield. On her next move Yang lunged hard to see if she could grab Pyrrha in some sort of choke hold. Yang suspected that not many people tried to grapple with Pyrrha. This unfortunately didn't work out for Yang as when she moved to grab Pyrrha, Pyrrha actually dropped and rolled away to the side, into a startled Blake.
Blake had to use her semblance to dodge Pyrrha's sudden roll and spear and thankfully for Yang the dust falling from Blake's clone's side after Pyrrha hit it gave Yang the second she needed to scramble up onto her feet and throw a shotgun assisted punch at Pyrrha.
This also did not work out for Yang or team RWBY as Pyrrha managed to block most of the shells and the punch with her shield. While at the same time the ricochet of her shotgun shells off Pyrrha's shield just about managed to hit Blake's leg and Weiss's arm, judging from the hisses and shouts of her name that she heard.
Yang let out a huff and stepped forward with a left hook, this time without the shotgun shells, which Pyrrha deflected as well. Then Pyrrha dropped all of a sudden again which confused Yang for a split second before she felt a sting of something very cold on her right shoulder. Damn friendly fight… Weiss…
Yang's look to the side to see her shoulder cost her though. As when Yang looked back she was smashed in the chest and stomach with both of Pyrrha's boots as Pyrrha used the friendly fire to set her shield on the ground and throw her legs up using the shield as an anchor.
This sent Yang flying a good few feet back where she slammed into the arena, hard. Yang felt pain spiking in her head, stomach and chest. Even her teeth hurt. And Gods, her ribs… she wouldn't have been surprised if some of them were broken.
Though fortunately for Yang, that hit on her cost Pyrrha as a second later Blake got a clean slash on Pyrrha's leg, costing Pyrrha a chunk of aura. Weiss and Ruby also both got shots off, a bullet and ice shard, which prevented any follow up attack from Pyrrha as she had to roll away to dodge the shots.
Blake was growing concerned, the fight, so far, lasted a couple minutes and it was already brutal. Pyrrha was moving faster than Blake thought she could and everyone already took some damage. The worst was Ruby and Weiss but thankfully Pyrrha wasn't much better. Though unfortunately Pyrrha had a lot more aura than Ruby or Weiss or even herself. Only Yang had a larger amount of aura than Pyrrha.
Which the plan relied on. But Pyrrha was fighting differently than they were expecting… So erratically and with attacks they rarely or never really saw before.
Blake saw Yang struggling to get up, so she made another dash at Pyrrha who just managed to get onto her feet. Where did Pyrrha learn to kick like that? Blake had to dodge to the left to avoid another ice shard from Weiss and once she got near enough to Pyrrha she started rapidly slashing at her using both her sword and scabbard.
Pyrrha dodged and blocked her attacks and unfortunately for Blake their erratic movements made it hard for Weiss or Ruby to provide good backup. But thankfully her attack did give Yang the time and space to get up. Though Blake's good deed did cost her when a split second after Pyrrha deflected her latest slash Pyrrha managed to grab her arm and throw her with what seemed like all of Pyrrha's strength.
After a spin Blake flew into a surprised Weiss who very unluckily didn't manage to dodge in time. They both bounced off the arena floor and groaned as they came to a stop. Blake got up on her arms first, seeing Pyrrha dodge and block Ruby's shots, thankfully a couple of the shots got through and ate at Pyrrha's aura.
A moment late, after Blake stood up, she saw Yang engaging Pyrrha in close quarter combat again. The two of them were a flurry of punches, slashes and shield bashes with Yang getting hit more often. Losing just a bit too much aura. Fortunately Ruby took shots and preformed semblance powered slashes when she could. Taking some pressure off Yang.
The sisters worked well together. Ruby always there following up an attack from Yang. But Pyrrha was managing to handle them. Pyrrha was constantly forcing Yang to move, erratically, which caused some problems for Ruby. Blake could see no attack pattern that Pyrrha was following. It was all sudden attacks and many feints.
Blake looked down at Weiss who just now was sitting up clutching the right side of her head, where Blake suspected that she hit Weiss with her scabbard due to Pyrrha's throw. Though what Blake saw made her slightly happy. It looked like Ruby and Yang together might be Pyrrha's limit.
Blake rushed forward and helped her two team member by using any openings she saw for her attacks. She moved after Yang and kept an eye out for Ruby. With the three of them pressuring Pyrrha, Pyrrha was amazingly taking more damage here and started falling back. Yang's punches, her slashes and stabs and Ruby's slashes all taking their toll on Pyrrha.
Unfortunately Pyrrha was also taking her toll on them. Pyrrha's shield and slashes and kicks and quick stabs were eating into all of their aura and even worse their stamina. Pyrrha wasn't letting them rest at all, they all had to keep moving. To keep pressuring Pyrrha and dodging her attacks.
Also, even worse for team RWBY as a whole, Blake knew that from time to time one of her slashes or one of Yang's punches hit one of them when they just weren't fast enough to dodge. Or when they didn't see it coming at all.
Weiss managed to regain control of herself and stand up as she watched her team corner Pyrrha. Were they actually doing it? Was her team actually winning? Weiss knew that the fight was going ruff, team RWBY was not as coordinated as they should be and they were getting into each other's way.
But Pyrrha was taking damage. And couldn't attack how she wanted to.
With a small smile on her face Weiss picked up her sword and moved around the arena looking for an opening. She shadowed the ball of violence and managed to make eye contact with both Ruby and Blake. After a moment she rushed in with a slash once she saw Blake and Ruby move back.
Her slash was blocked by Pyrrha's shield and Weiss had to twist to the left to dodge a slash from Pyrrha's spear. She then stepped back as Yang sent a series of punches at Pyrrha. As Pyrrha dodged she and Blake moved in at the same time to slash and stab at Pyrrha with some of their attacks connecting.
Pyrrha huffed as she felt Yang's, Blake's and Weiss's attacks all hitting her. She was dodging and blocking the best she could but, she was taking more damage than she thought. Team RWBY's coordination was better than she expected. Thankfully Ruby was hanging back for the moment, probably looking for an opening.
The three of them were all taking damage, her attacks and their own friendly fire hitting often enough. But not causing enough damage and not causing damage fast enough. Pyrrha knew that her aura was dropping faster than theirs and that she would be out first.
Okay, Pyrrha thought, change of plan.
As Weiss and Blake stepped back to let Yang start a series of punches, Pyrrha embraced her inner Nora and with a flare of her semblance she caught all three of them unaware.
Weiss's sword was ripped out of her hand and flung to the other side of the arena. Blake managed to hold on to her scabbard, but her sword was thrown away and due to the ribbon connecting her sword and her scabbard Blake had to dodge her own sword before it fell onto the floor. Yang had it the worse though, as her gauntlets forced her backwards in a high arc, Yang followed the arc and smashed almost head first into the floor.
With some breathing room now Pyrrha brought up her shield to block a few shots from Ruby and moved. Weiss managed to dodge her slash as she hopped away, but Weiss wasn't her target. Pyrrha managed to get to Yang before she got up and stomped on Yang's back has hard as she could. Then Pyrrha had to block Ruby's strike.
Though this gave Pyrrha the chance she needed, as she got lucky, a split second before Ruby reengaged her semblance to dash away Pyrrha managed to get a hold of Ruby's scythe with her semblance. Pyrrha held Ruby's scythe's handle still as Ruby dashed away. This resulted in Ruby getting flung backwards to a hard landing almost on the edge of the arena.
Pyrrha though was also affected and due to the snap back of her semblance caused by Ruby's semblance, she was shoved backwards for a few feet. Though thankfully Pyrrha managed to keep her balance by stabbing her spear into the floor and leaning on it.
A moment later Pyrrha had to dodge Blake's slash and grabbed Blake's sword with her semblance as she thrust her spear forward. Blake was fortunately held in place for a second, with Blake trying to move she sword and so Blake was hit in the waist with full force of her stab. Unfortunately for Pyrrha her semblance lost its grip once Blake used her semblance to get back.
Pyrrha then got hit by an ice shard to the back which caused her to stumble forward a step. As Pyrrha regained her footing and ran towards Yang who was getting up, she brought up her shield to block another two shots from Weiss. Blake also managed to pepper her other side with some shots as she got to Yang.
Using her momentum Pyrrha body checked Yang and basically tackled her to the floor, very luckily dodging shots from both Ruby and Weiss. But it did hurt to run into Yang, Yang was pretty well muscled and not the softest girl to hit from the side.
Though the tackle did its job, forcing Yang back onto the floor and giving Pyrrha the chance to keep some momentum. She rolled and got up quickly managing to block a slash from Blake with her spear. A second later Pyrrha still blocking Blake had to deflect an attack from Weiss with her shield.
A sudden twist from Pyrrha caught both Blake and Weiss off-guard and Pyrrha managed to hit Weiss with her spear and Blake with her shield. Unfortunately Ruby hit her in the back with a shot. Which dropped her aura far too much for her comfort. Pyrrha needed to take out at least two of team RWBY to win this fight before she lost too much aura.
Weiss repositioned herself after shaking off the numbness in her arms from Pyrrha's hit. When what Pyrrha did next surprised her. Pyrrha twisted again but instead of hitting her, Blake was the only target. Pyrrha's spear destroyed Blake's clone as Blake used it to dodge. And somehow Blake got hit right in the stomach with Pyrrha's shield. A shield that Pyrrha threw hard.
Weiss did try and attack, but her sword was deflected and Pyrrha punched her hard in the side as Pyrrha also maneuvered around her. Making it hard for Ruby to help her. Thankfully Ruby did run up at normal speeds and attack Pyrrha.
But now, very unfortunately, Pyrrha was keeping her in between Ruby and herself. While sending punches and stabs at Ruby, who didn't manage to dodge all of them until she dashed away. Weiss was starting to feel a bit angry. Pyrrha was still managing to direct the fight, even with all of team RWBY against her.
Though happily Yang was up now and Blake recovered from getting hit by Pyrrha's shield. But unfortunately everyone was down on aura. Her, Ruby and Blake lost quite a bit, down more than half while Yang and Pyrrha lost under half.
Weiss did pay for checking their aura level with another punch from Pyrrha, this time to her back.
Yang could feel the damage and she was highly tempted to engage her semblance, but couldn't yet. Weiss and Ruby were still dancing around with Pyrrha and Blake was getting back into the fight herself. Okay then Yang thought, round 3 it is.
Yang came at Pyrrha with a punch as Weiss and Ruby hopped back and Blake moved in after her. This started another exchange with Pyrrha which ended with her getting kicked in the knee, Pyrrha getting hit in the chest by one of Blake's slashes and Blake getting wacked in the head by Pyrrha's spear. Weiss and Ruby only manage to provide some support.
Pyrrha's erratic attacks and movements kept them all off balance and limited what Ruby and Weiss could do.
Yang then actually had to roll away as Pyrrha very suddenly elbow charged her. This though wasn't a good move as she was hit in the leg by Pyrrha's spear and Pyrrha managed to get to her shield. Thankfully Pyrrha did have to dodge a shot from Ruby and she was hit by a glyph powered slash from Weiss.
Yang groaned and couldn't believe it, even if they managed to win this fight, Pyrrha still showed them and everyone else that she alone managed to keep all of team RWBY off balance. But Yang would still take an ugly win over losing again to Pyrrha.
She rolled her shoulders and joined Weiss and Blake who were slashing and stabbing at Pyrrha with Ruby rushing in with slashes of her own. Pyrrha was managed to dodge or block most of her team's attacks, only getting hit once when Ruby came in. But other times using Blake and Weiss to stop most attacks from Ruby.
Yang managed to land a solid right hook. But on her next punch, Pyrrha dodged and moved back against Weiss, who had to dodge as well or get hip checked by Pyrrha. Yang's next punch was more badly timed for her team.
Yang's sudden punch make Ruby have to drop out of her dash and pull her slash back as Ruby sidestepped her. Which caused Blake to have to dodge herself to avoid running into Ruby. Which placed Blake perfectly in the path of Pyrrha's shield. Which smashed into an unaware Blake's face with all the force Pyrrha's arm could muster.
Yang could only watch as Blake basically crumpled to the ground and as Ruby almost tripped over Blake's leg. Yang then had to step forward towards Pyrrha to throw a series of punches and kicks at her to allow Weiss to move in behind her to pull Blake away.
Ruby blinked as Yang traded a series of punches, slashes, stabs and shield bashes with Pyrrha while Weiss moved a seemingly unconscious Blake to the edge of the arena. Ruby shook her head and moved to help her sister.
Weiss sighed as she looked over Blake, steady pulse, steady breathing, Blake was even blinking. Blake would be okay. But Blake was out of it for now. Not good, Blake's help was vital for Yang to keep the pressure on Pyrrha. They were a team member down under Blake regained herself.
Weiss knew what it was like getting hit in the face by Pyrrha's shield.
Weiss looked up and saw that Yang and Ruby were having more trouble with Pyrrha now than a few minutes ago. They were all more tired and hurt now than before and unlike Pyrrha and Yang, her and Ruby's stamina was far lower.
Weiss could see that Ruby was a step behind Yang, their teamwork not as good as before. Which was letting Pyrrha get more hits in than before. Damn their aura was dropping too much. They needed a few more good hits on Pyrrha to win this and they were one person down.
Weiss nodded to herself and moved to slash as Pyrrha as well. She couldn't use her semblance too much as she would hit or affect Yang and Ruby as well so she was stuck with normal and dust power sword attacks. Her slash was blocked by Pyrrha and then she had to dodge both a slash from Pyrrha and Yang moving into her a second afterwards.
Weiss looked over to Ruby who was also looking equally frustrated and shook her head. They needed to keep calm or Pyrrha would win for sure. Weiss hopped over to Ruby, dodging a stab by Pyrrha on the way and placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder.
They were both hurt, very down on aura and breathing hard. Yang was just holding enough of Pyrrha's attention with them two off on the side for a second, but Weiss knew that unless Yang engaged her semblance, she wouldn't hold out much longer.
Weiss and Ruby shared a look with Ruby asking "Now?" Weiss sighed and looked over to Blake who was just now sitting up very unsteadily, still out of the fight for sure. Weiss had to agree, they needed to start their endgame now. Weiss nodded "Now."
Ruby nodded back at Weiss, this fight went nothing like they thought it would. Pyrrha was far more aggressive and sudden in her movements and attacks, none of her usually style or combos. Ruby was sure Pyrrha was doing it to keep them all off balance and to stop her and Weiss from being more help.
Ruby had to agree with Pyrrha that their teamwork still wasn't all that good and that if Pyrrha, alone, could cause so much trouble for them then… yeah… Anyone who could beat Pyrrha would be out of their league. But they could still beat Pyrrha.
"NOW" Ruby yelled and started to run towards Yang and Pyrrha.
Yang hearing Ruby's yell blinked and nodded. Okay, time to end this. Yang threw a series of wild punches and kicks at Pyrrha who moved back to dodge them. Once Yang had the space and time she engaged her semblance. Feeling the familiar heat in her veins she smirked and moved towards Pyrrha.
Pyrrha smiled, finally, she then engaged her semblance while she moved and dodged backwards and pulled the metal band that was acting like a belt out. Then with a twist of her hand as she blocked a slash from Weiss and stabbed at Yang, she made the band twist around Yang's arms as she brought both of them in to block her stab.
Pyrrha seeing Yang's arms successfully bound, moved towards Ruby who dashed away. But then she suddenly twirled around and threw her shield at Weiss. Who still looking at Yang and thus got hit in the chest. Weiss gasped for air and stumbled back a few steps as she dropped to her knee.
Yang snarled and brought both her arms in as much as possible then with as much force as she could she spread her arms out. Feeling her muscles cry out in pain. Very happily she heard and saw the band snap and she let it fall to the floor with a frown. Damn Pyrrha, what would it take to catch her off guard. Did the vision just give her all their moves and strategies?
Yang very luckily looked up at just the right moment to see Pyrrha's spear coming her way. Yang dodged to the left very violently and nearly stumbled to the floor. Yang then had to keep dodging to avoid the series of stabs that Pyrrha was sending her way. Unfortunately on the last dodge her boot slipped on some of the ice still on the floor here and there and she stumbled.
Pyrrha took great advantage of Yang's stumble and hit her in the side with a stab then she kicked her in the stomach. That caused Yang to fly back a few feet. Unfortunately for Pyrrha she was just too late blocking a slash from a Ruby which dropped her aura even more towards red… Damn.
Pyrrha turned towards Ruby who hopped away a few feet. That turn luckily let her see the rest of team RWBY. Blake was still on the floor holding her head, Weiss was just now standing up on shaky feet and Yang turned over on to her arms and was coughing violently. Pyrrha rolled her shoulders and readied her spear now looking at Ruby.
Pyrrha was happy with one thing, her endurance training with Jaune was actually paying off a bit. Sure it might be all in her head, since a couple weeks was nowhere near enough time to actually affect her endurance, but she felt like she had more energy than before. Like she could keep fighting.
Ruby was tired, she was breathing heavily, she was hurt, her aura was far too low for her comfort and her team was all down at the moment. Ruby looked at Pyrrha who was looking at her with a serious but… glad… look on her face. Ruby felt a shudder go down her spine. The only comfort that Ruby could take was that Pyrrha was also breathing heavily and she was also hurt.
But Ruby knew that she couldn't fight Pyrrha on her own. She could feel her arms shake. She was never in this type of fight before, it was desperate and aggressive and painful and so hard. Ruby knew that she was a good fighter, maybe even a great one. But now Ruby couldn't feel any of that confidence.
Was this what Weiss and Yang felt when they fought this serious Pyrrha one on one?
Ruby gulped and steadied herself. Even if Pyrrha was better than her, she would do her best. For her team and for herself. Ruby raised Crescent Rose and using her semblance moved towards Pyrrha. Pyrrha blocked her slash and stabbed at her which she managed to dodge.
Ruby then begun, without using her semblance, to slash at Pyrrha. Ruby couldn't do any of her normal moves or combos. She could only attack, left swing, right swing, twist, underhand upwards thrust. But Pyrrha was blocking or dodging all of her attacks.
Very luckily for Ruby just as Pyrrha deflected her slash and was getting ready to send a stab at her, Pyrrha gasped and rolled away. Ruby gasping for breath herself looked over at who could have caused that and saw Weiss standing up with her sword pointed at where Pyrrha just was.
Ruby smiled as Weiss walked over to the other side of Pyrrha. With her arms shaking even more she lifted her Crescent Rose up and moved to slash Pyrrha. Weiss at the same time moved to stab Pyrrha. Neither of their attacks hit but Ruby was happy that she had her partner fighting by her side.
Yang groaned as she stood up and saw Ruby and Weiss just managing to keep Pyrrha busy. Though from the looks of it they wouldn't last much longer. Yang shook her arms and gently padded her stomach which was still stinging from Pyrrha's kick. Thank the Gods that she didn't throw up.
Yang ran at Pyrrha and forced her to stop an attack on Weiss so that she could block her punch. Pyrrha was hit in the side with a slash from Weiss because of that. Yang smiled widely and begun a very uncoordinated series of punches.
Yang was hurt, she was low on aura, she was covered in sweat, the pain in her stomach and chest would probably need a doctor's visit. But she was not a quitter. Weiss was up and fighting, Ruby was up and fighting. Yang would not let them down.
Pyrrha was dodging and blocking a semblance powered Yang's punches and kicks, sending stabs, shield bashes and slashes when she could. While at the same time dodging Weiss's and Ruby's attacks. She was getting hit here and there and she knew that she was one or two big hits away from red.
Thankfully Ruby's, Weiss's and Yang's coordination was even worse than before as Ruby and Weiss were getting tired. So Pyrrha really needed to end the fight now. Pyrrha suddenly rushed to the side and dodged around Yang, tripping her up along the way. And attacked both Ruby and Weiss.
Ruby and Weiss were about an arms length apart just to the right of Yang where they were moving together to attack her at the same time after Yang stepped back. But Pyrrha got to them first. Before either could react Pyrrha used some of the last bit of her aura and held both of their weapons with her semblance as she slashed both of them with her spear.
Pyrrha managed to hit both Weiss and Ruby across the chest. She saw them both stumble backwards gasping.
Just a second later she felt a stab hit her in the back with far too much force. Pyrrha stumbled and looked over her shoulder to see Blake, still unsteady, but standing there, a clone of hers dissolving behind her and getting ready for another attack. With a twist Pyrrha moved to block it and respond.
But at the last second she saw blonde out of the corner of her eye. And couldn't fully block Yang's semblance powered punch as she blocked Blake's slashes. Pyrrha did manage to get a solid stab hit on Yang though. As Blake and Yang moved back a step and she got ready they all heard a loud voice.
They all heard Goodwitch say "Ms. Schnee, Ms. Rose, Ms. Nikos, Ms. Xiao Long. Aura in the red. Out. Team RWBY wins due to Ms. Belladonna having aura in the orange."
Yang laughed as she looked over her team. They actually won? Yang felt burned out, she pushed her semblance far more than she ever did and burned so much of her own aura that she felt tingles all over her body. But they won. Thank everything and anything that Pyrrha was so close to red or that would have been the end for them.
All those hours of planning and training and it worked enough to allow them to win. A very messy win sure. But Yang didn't care. Yang looked over and saw Blake breathing deeply, her head down, still unsteady. Man did Blake pull a clutch move or what? Out of the blue, still unsteady and she used a clone to launch herself into Pyrrha's back.
Yang stumbled as she walked over to Blake and pulled her into a deep hug. "Oh Blakey, what a move! Look at you winning it for team RWBY!" Yang chuckled as Blake groaned. Yang just held her closer and looked over at Pyrrha who was smiling at them.
Yang smiled "Gods Pyrrha, you are badass. But team RWBY is just as badass!" Yang heard Blake groan again as she curled more into her. Blake's head resting on her shoulder, one of Blake's arms wrapped around her back, the other arm on her chest. Yang was very tempted to make a joke about Blake feeling her up, but held it back.
Blake sighed into Yang's warm shoulder, she was putting all her weight onto Yang, but at the moment she didn't care. Blake was hurt and sweaty and tired and still unsteady. Her head was pounding. But they won. Team RWBY won because she still had more aura. Blake smiled into Yang's shoulder and held her closer.
Blake was disappointed that Pyrrha took her out of the fight for so long with that shield bash that she didn't notice until it hit her. But managing to pull herself together and using that last bit of dust to preform the attack. It was a risk, a massive risk and Blake was sure that the Blake of old wouldn't have done it. But she did and it worked and it helped them win.
Blake's smile grew and she now cuddled even more into Yang's overly warm body. How was Yang still standing and supporting her weight as well without issues after a fight like that?
Ruby was laughing as well. She could not believe that they won. Blake came through for them at the last moment to help Yang and them. Ruby could not believe that after taking a hit like that that Blake could still standing up, much less attacked Pyrrha at full speed.
Ruby admired Yang even more now, her sister was there in front of Pyrrha, always attacking her, always being attacked, from the start of the fight till the end. Ruby didn't know how Yang was still standing so strong. But Ruby was so proud of Yang.
Ruby looked over at Weiss who was also just getting up from the floor, gently feeling her chest to check for any damage. Ruby couldn't hold back and in a few stumbling steps she made it to Weiss and wrapped her up in a hug.
"We did it Weiss! We beat Pyrrha!" Ruby smiled widely and hugged Weiss even closer. Ruby actually smiled wider when Weiss returned the hug and mumbled into her shoulder.
"We actually did… we did… we did it… we won…" Weiss could not believe it.
Weiss was so tired and hurt and it felt like all her ribs were broken. She was so sweaty as well. With Ruby not helping anything hugging her. But they won! Sure it wasn't the victory that Weiss wanted, but she would take the win. Against an opponent like Pyrrha, a Pyrrha who knew so much about them and how they fought.
Weiss would gladly take the win.
Weiss smiled into Ruby shoulder as she felt the adrenaline and stress suddenly leave her. Weiss felt a deep sense of contentment rise in her as all the planned and training that they did helped them in not losing. Pyrrha threw them off their plan with how erratically she fought, but they managed.
And Yang and Blake and Ruby. Oh Gods Ruby, facing off one on one against Pyrrha to give them all a chance to get up. Weiss was so proud of her team. Yang fought so hard and took so much damage to hold Pyrrha's attention. And Blake, pulling herself together after a mostly unprotected hit like that. Weiss chuckled into Ruby's shoulder.
And to think a few weeks ago Weiss didn't have anything positive to say about her team.
Weiss looked up from Ruby's warm shoulder when she heard Ruby say Yang's name. Yang was standing there in front of Ruby with a smile. Weiss sighed knowing what would happen next. In a quick series of moves, Yang opened up one arm and Ruby pulled both of them into Yang.
Weiss now found herself squeezed between Ruby and Yang with Blake on her side. Weiss could only chuckle. A team hug after a fight like that actually felt so good.
Pyrrha smiled at the joyful team RWBY, maybe winning against her in a close fight like this would actually be good for them. Pyrrha then heard her name get yelled and looked over at Nora how was running at her at full speed. A quick slide move was the only thing that saved her as Nora brought her into a full power Nora hug
"PYRRHA! YOU WERE SO AWESOME, TAKING ON TEAM RWBY AND FIGHTING ALL OF THEM TO A STAND STILL. AND YOUR SEMBLANCE, I DIDN'T KNOWN IT COULD DO THAT!" Pyrrha chuckled at Nora as she hugged her back. She didn't hug Nora enough last time or even this time.
Pyrrha looked up at Jaune and Ren coming up to her, both with smiles on their faces.
"You are an unbelievable fighter Pyrrha, we all knew that you were good, but I agree with Nora, to hold team RWBY off by yourself." Ren said as he placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed. Pyrrha smiled widely at his support.
Jaune hugged the back of her as Nora took up her front.
"That was so great Pyrrha, you nearly won against all of team RWBY. And your semblance, I never saw you use it like that before. You're the best, you really are." Jaune said hugging her deeper.
Pyrrha smiled as she leaned back against Jaune and half listened to Nora going over the fight blow for blow from her perspective. Her team laughing at Nora's descriptions. This was so good. Pyrrha wondered why she didn't try to make more team moments like this happen.
- Scene Break -
In the somewhere, just above the void, looking down at it, red hair and green eyes smiled widely. She could see so many possibilities blink out and just as many blink in. The path for Beacon was changed. This fight and what happened during it will spread across Beacon, Vale and the other Academies. Huntsmen and Huntresses will hear and watch the fight and want to fight like Pyrrha or team RWBY. They will admire the girls. They will want to be better.
They will train more, they will train with their teams more, they will form teams. Pyrrha and the others didn't know it, but with a little push, they just struck a big blow against the lonely princess that they will fight. The princess will spend just that much more attention on her Grimm and miss some actions there or reports here. The red hair and green eyes was looking forward to seeing the princess panic.
The wizard will also start to move more openly now. He now knew how powerful Pyrrha was and he still needed a replacement for one season as the general needed a replacement for another season. The red hair and green eyes was curious at what they would do.
The cowardly raven will also see what her daughter could do and she will doubt.
The bull and the other faunus will see what their black cat could do and think, make changes, train more or in the case of a lonely lizard love more. The three cats though will start making some moves. All three proud, one very annoyed, two worried.
The dragon and crow will also start talking, they will see their daughters fight, see them struggle, see them pull together as a team. They will be proud and worried and the red hair and green eyes wondered what they will do and say to the wizard.
Yes, the red hair and green eyes was pleased, pleased in a way she hasn't been for years, eons. The godlings won't see the possibilities change. And the godlings will suffer because of that arrogance. The red hair and green eyes could not wait for that moment.
With a smirk showing pearly white teeth, looking sharper than they should be, the red hair and green eyes lounged back and watched as the possibilities formed and unformed. She couldn't believe that with just some memories and a few pushes here and there that so may changes could be made in such a short time.
Chapter Eight End
Hope everyone liked chapter 8.
Man, the amount of times that we rewrote the fight, it was the most annoying thing we ever wrote. We hope people aren't too mad at having team RWBY win by a hair. But in our eyes it was a balance of Pyrrha who is a great fighter, has a larger amount of aura, a very useful semblance and knows all of team RWBY's current and future moves, but is just one person. And team RWBY who are also all great fighters, have overpowered semblances and are fighting 4 vs 1 but don't have much teamwork and never really fought a person as a team.
We also think the bonus of team RWBY becoming more of a solid team because of them squeaking out a win can't be overstated.
Plus their drive now to win against Pyrrha again. The only people their age that managed to win against Pyrrha.
The next chapter will be a bit of a time skip chapter with a few important conversations.
Just a continued reminder, this is not the "Prime" timeline, we are changing when some events happen, as the timeline of show is not clear. We are also changing some characters. Hopefully by not too much.
Another massive thank you to HelpingHand for your ideas. You'll see some of them come up in the story.
And a thank you to Jaune117.
See everyone in the next chapter.
