Hello, this is my first Infinity Train fanfic so I'm very excited to do this! hope y'all will like it. Warning for: suicidal thoughts, slight body horror due to bruises, and a lot of crying.
Train to Nowhere (Rewrite)
The unlikely trio had just nearly escaped the fury of several denizens that wanted to harm them (mostly Kez). The three were now inside a large medieval castle where they would be safe... for now.
"Min, ugh, Ryan, I'd like to introduce you to my roommate, Morgan." Kez spoke in a happy tone, she was so excited for her friends to meet her other friend.
Min-gi and Ryan took in their surroundings and they saw : a dusty desk with large books on top of it, a staircase that divided into two wings of the castle, a worn out carpet runner that was ruby red color with faded gold trimmings, a huge circular stain glass window above the stairs, and the drawbridge that closed off the castle from the denizens. But there was no late 30's to early 40's man in a pink button up shirt with a brown fedora. Where was he?
"Ugh, where is he?" Ryan asked still looking for 'Morgan'.
Suddenly the candles inside the oil lamps and chandlers flickered on dimly illuminating the castle as it began to shake as small pieces of derbies began to fall.
"KEZ"
A furious voice boomed out of nowhere.
"You really shouldn't have come back here." The voice spoke again as the ground continued to shake. "You ruined my life!"
"But I brought my friends; Ryan and Min!" Kez pleaded before turning to her friends and whispered. "Act cool."
Min-gi panicked and put his hands on his hips as his face flustered. Ryan did a cool pose before switching to a rock star pose with a wink, tounge out, hand on hip, and rock star/ love hand sign. Ryan added a 'BLEH' to his tounge out while Min-gi rubbed the sweat from his forehead.
"Not like that." Kez scolded the two.
"You said the guy in the photo was, Morgan, your roommate." Min-gi stated.
"Nah, Min, the castle is Morgan." Kez corrected Min-gi. "That other guy was Jeremy."
The cast- Morgan began to shake violently.
"You don't get to say his name!" Morgan hissed.
"But Morgan -" Kez stopped what she was saying as she heard Morgan weep.
"You took him from me!" Morgan wept invisible tears.
"But now these guys are here, huh, so you won't be lonely anymore." Kez spoke up.
"You think you can just replace him?" Morgan spoke in a hurt and offended tone.
"That's why you brought us here?" Min-gi asked in disbelief.
"You've been lying to us?" Ryan barked at Kez.
"It's not like that." Kez tried to reassure everyone. " It'll be great for all of us."
"Fine Kez. Let's all live together exactly like before." Morgan stated in a sarcastic tone.
The rug from under their feet began to move as Ryan grabbed Kez, the carpet dragged the trio up the right side of the split stair case. The trio screamed as they were transport to who knows where in the castle until the carpet halted causing Min and Ryan to fall flat on their faces on the hard stone ground. As Min and Ryan got up they didn't have time to glare at Kez, because an axe appeared a couple of inches away from Ryan's throat. The two looked up to see a rusty suit of armor holding the dull axe cornering the three into an empty room as the door opened and shut behind them.
"Aw, geez." Min-gi sighed in relief. "I thought she was gonna send us to the dungeon or something."
"Ugh, not exactly." Kez nervously corrected Min. " This is Jeremy's room."
The room was larger than Ryan and Min-gi's bedrooms combined, heck, even combined with their parents' rooms it would still be compared to a broom closet. Tapestries decorated the walls, a large mahogany wardrobe, a few mahogany dressers with bowls filled with different kinds of potpourri, a fireplace with a shield and spears on top of it, and a large canopy bed.
"Ugh." Min-gi and Ryan said in unison both equally uncomfortable.
"Hey, Morgan." Kez tried to sound as friendly as possible despite how frightened she was. "What'cha doing?"
"They're the new Jeremy, right?" Morgan hissed.
"HERE!"
The wardrobe opened as many articles of clothing (mainly hats so many flippin' hats) came flying out ambushing Min-gi burying him to the floor.
"Wear his clothes!" Morgan demanded
"Min!" Ryan shouted as he ran to his friend trying to dig him out of the hat pile.
"HERE!"
An golden food cart appeared with fresh mini knishes and dinner rolls that started smacking Ryan in the face.
"Eat his food!" Morgan demanded.
Min-gi gasped for air as he freed himself from the pile of clothing only to be attacked by mini knishes as well. Both boys were being pelted with bread goods.
"Oh no! Jeremey loved mini knishes." The memory of Jeremy enjoying mini knishes entered Kez's brain.
"WRITE IN HIS JOURNAL!"
Jeremy's red journal floated in mid-air until it was chucked at the side of Ryan's head. Ryan clutched the side of his head trying to ease the pain where the book hit him.
"Stop! They're good guys!" Kez cried out.
"Jeremy was a good guy!" Morgan shouted as the wardrobe opened again.
A pair of pants and a scarf wrapped around Min-gi's torso as a pair of pants and a shirt wrapped around Ryan's torso. Morgan was slowly squeezing the life out of them. The two struggled to get free as the oxygen was leaving their lungs.
"Don't!" Kez cried out watching her friends being attacked.
"What's the difference right? If I kill these two you can just get more?" Morgan retorted.
"I wasn't trying to replace Jeremy!" Kez shouted. "I just didn't want you to be alone."
"These guys are just gonna come here and use me and leave just like every other passenger. " Morgan stated with hatred in her voice until it changed to sorrow. "Jeremy was different. He fixed parts of me when they broke, he polished things to make them shine, he was my caretaker. The only one I ever had."
"It was an accident!" Kez shouted at the top of her voice.
Min-gi and Ryan's faces were now red from lack of oxygen as they still struggled to set themselves free from their restraints. The clothes released them from their prison as they gasped for air.
"Let me know if you need turn down service." Morgan spatted out.
Without warning the mattress shoved Ryan into the edge of the fireplace.
"Ryan!" Kez and Min-gi shouted out as they rushed to him.
Min-gi was able to release Ryan from the mattress's hold as they both collapsed on their knees to catch their breathes.
"Enjoy your stay." Morgan stated sarcastically.
Ryan and Min-gi both collapsed on their sides take in as much oxygen as their lungs would allow part of their bodies hurt from the abuse they endured and there were most likely bruises left over. Kez floated above them with a concerned look on her face, she couldn't believe what Morgan did to her friends.
"You okay?" Kez asked.
Min-gi and Ryan looked at her like she just asked the world's dumbest question.
"I didn't think she'd react like this." Kez admitted
"What did you think would happen?!" Ryan yelled at Kez.
" I thought she'd, like, stop being mad, and let me come home." Kez answered.
" What about us?" Min-gi questioned. " We just want to go home too."
" Well, it's just like, I mean." Kez stuttered. "Your numbers weren't going down so...so I thought you know 'you came here you'd be able to stay together without all the hang-ups you had back home.'"
Ryan looked at the neon green glowing 202 on his right hand. The more he heard Kez explain her case his face twisted, wrinkles formed near his eyebrows, and lips tightened.
"Everyone's mad at me all the time, but... I don't know what I'm doing wrong." Kez admitted truly deeply confused.
"Yeah, Kez, You do." Ryan rebuked.
Both Min-gi and Kez looked at Ryan as he continued to explain.
"It's that you don't think how things will affect other people, then when people get mad you act like: 'Oh No, what happened, so weird '. And then you float away like: ' Well it's their problem now! La, la, la, I'm a bell!'" Ryan then dropped his playful expression to a more serious one.
Min-gi attempted to put a hand on Ryan's shoulder, but Ryan got up and walked away. Min-gi decided not to badger Ryan any further.
"He's right, Kez." Min-gi agreed. "You never actually apologized."
"Pfft, what? Yeah I do." Kez sputtered.
"No, you say you didn't mean to mess up, but you never say sorry." Min-gi said sternly as he looked into her eyes.
"Oh, well -I mean it's just like- misunderstandings - and" Kez began stumbling with her words.
"Kez, get out." Ryan said coldly.
Min-gi and Kez were shocked at Ryan's cold action, when the two looked at each other Min-gi hung his head. As cruel as it was Kez needed to hear that. Kez flew out a nearby window as Min-gi walked towards it and watched as Kez entered the castle through another window until he spotted the denizens below.
"Do you think it's possible Jeremy died because of something she did?" Min-gi asked Ryan in a worried tone.
"I want to say no, but - after all this." Ryan gestured around the damaged room then ran a hand through his scalp he felt something wet. He pulled his hand back to see his fingertips were red.
"Ryan, you're bleeding!" Min-gi cried out.
"Crap!" Ryan hissed as he remembered that Morgan hit him with Jeremy's journal.
"There's gotta be some bandages around her somewhere." Min-gi frantically searched the room.
" Don't worry I got it." Ryan said nonchalantly as he opened his guitar case.
Ryan pulled out a bottle of medical alcohol, a bag with a few cotton balls in it, and what seemed to be gaze.
"You had all that in your guitar case?" Min-gi questioned.
"Never know when a show will end south because of : somebody getting drunk, a riot, or some chick flirting with someone else's man." Ryan answered with a bitter laugh.
Min-gi couldn't believe what he just heard; was life on the road as a solo performer really that hard on Ryan?
"Aw, grody!" Ryan yelped as he noticed how yellow and blood stained the gaze was. "Oh yeah, I used this after that bouquet toss incident."
"Don't worry, I'm sure there's something in here we can use." Min-gi almost picked up the scarf that was used to strangle him moments ago.
"Don't!" Ryan grabbed Min-gi by his wrist. "Morgan was pissed when Kez mentioned Jeremy's name, what do you think she'll do if we diss his stuff?"
Ryan had a point, but if they didn't wrap his cut it would get infected. Without a second thought Ryan wrapped his Chicken Choice Judy t-shirt around his forehead not caring if his blood stained it.
"Don't worry, we'll get it washed after this." Min-gi said knowing how much the homemade t-shirt meant to Ryan.
"Whatever. I'm gonna try and open the door." Ryan started pulling the doorknob trying to get out.
Min-gi hated seeing Ryan like this, this wasn't like him at all. He needed something to ... Min-gi turned his head and spotted Jeremy's torn journal and picked it up.
"Maybe we can find out what happened to Jeremy." Min-gi said as he opened the book.
Min-gi pressed the book almost too close to his face as he read. At an early age Min-gi was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was learning how to read in school. His parents worried this would hamper him so they would hire a tutor after school when he wasn't playing with Ryan. Overtime he got better a few slips here in-and-there but it was controllable.
" I found a hotel in a castle -" Min-gi began to read in a monotone voice " and it's alive!"
Ryan did his best to ignore Min-gi as he tried to open the locked door of the room pulling and twisting the knob with each grunt until he used his foot to help pull it open.
"The castle is smart and kind, and we stayed up all night talking. And there's this hilarious talking bell here, too." Min-gi continued to read. "I wish mom and Sandra could see this it's so beautiful."
Min-gi was hit by a wave of melancholy. The way Jeremy described Morgan really hit how delipidated she was now with: crumbling stones, worn rugs, and ivy covering the exterior. Jeremy must have been a really good caretaker to Morgan. Min-gi continued to read and a smile appeared after reading the funny passage.
"Definitely a lot better than the apartment sophomore year with the bees, ha-ha!" Min-gi chuckled a little hoping Ryan would get a laugh out of it too. "I wonder what Keith is up to these days."
"Hm, well I hope he's not in the apartment with all the bees." Min-gi said with a chuckle.
Ryan walked towards window and looked outside hoping to see a fire escape only to see the waves hitting the sharp rocks below. Ryan continued to look around the room searching for anything to help him and Min-gi escape the castle.
Min-gi laughed as he continued to read Jeremy's stories of himself, Morgan, and Kez and the little doodles he drew.
"'Morgan gave me a new derby today. It's kerry green and -'. Okay this whole entire is about a hat." Min-gi interrupted the narration as he began to flip a few pages. "Left my twelfth favorite beret in the sun-'. Okay, it's about a hat again."
Min-gi flipped through some more pages before reading again.
"'Found the perfect trilby today.' Tribly?" Min-gi paused at the word 'trilby'.
"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's a hat, Min!" Ryan said in a annoyed tone as he went to sit in a nearby chair giving up his search for an exit right now.
" I'll just skip closer to the end." Min-gi said as he flipped through some more pages. "Here! 'It's the fifth anniversary of me living with Morgan and Kez-'"
"Did you just say FIFTH?!" Ryan gasped out as he jumped off of the chair. " You can get stuck here for five years?!"
"We had a party, just us three." Min-gi continued to read again. " A bunch of passengers were here for my first anniversary, but it's just me now."
Ryan already knew their situation was horrible, but now it got a whole lot worse.
"'Morgan doesn't say so, but I know all the goodbyes are taking a toll. She even closed off the whole east wing last week.' Man!" Min-gi silently exclaimed.
*GASP*
"Ryan!"Min-gi gasped as he noticed something in Jeremy's journal and ushered Ryan over.
Ryan went to Min-gi's side as they both noticed Kez'z name. Speaking of Kez, as Min-gi continued to narrate Kez was flying through Morgan's empty halls noticing how rusty, dusty, and webby everything had gotten since she left. Morgan let herself go into a deep depression all because of what she did to Jeremy.
"Kez said some stuff that freaked me out today. I'm trying not to think about it too much though. Morgan asked why I've been distant lately?" Min-gi continued to read.
On cue Kez sat down on the dusty desk that strangely had a circular area not covered in dust, next to Kez was an open guest book with many guests' names crossed out except for one : Jeremy Bradford.
"But what if I tell her and she hates me? I'm gonna talk to Kez about it tomorrow at breakfast first; I mean it started with Kez anyway."
Kez was stood still on the desk as if she were a regular bell as she shut her eyes, next to her was a sign that read: Ring for Service.
"Huh?" Ryan question as he took Jeremy's journal from Min-gi's hands and started flipping some pages in the book, but they were all blank.
"Come on, we have to find her." Min-gi said with determination in his voice as he walked to the door.
"What if Morgan hears us?" Ryan whispered in fear that the castle would attack the two again.
The knob twisted and the door opened as Min-gi pushed it to his surprise.
"It's nighttime." Min-gi spoke in a hushed voice unsure of himself. " Maybe she's asleep."
" You think castle's sleep?" Ryan asked as he followed Min-gi through the hallways.
"You know she talks, but you're gonna be hung up on her circadian rhythm?" Min-gi asked in disbelief.
Ryan and Min-gi walked down the stairs trying find Kez. There was no sign of Kez being being cheery, talking, floating, or eating this scared the two; did something happened to her?
"There!" Ryan pointed to Kez on top of the desk.
Both slowly approached the desk so they wouldn't startle Kez.
"How did you get out?" Kez asked in a melancholy tone - until it hit her. "Oh, Morgan's sleeping."
"We read Jeremy's journal." Ryan spoke as he crossed his arms like a disappointed parent scolding their child. "His last entry said that he was having breakfast with you. What happened?"
" Ohh, well his number had been going down and he asked me not to tell Morgan." Kez began to explain what happened to the former passenger and friend. " And that morning he started talking about his car crash."
Min-gi and Ryan looked at each other in shock because of what they were hearing.
"He told me I said some things that got him thinking about it more and more, I don't know what I said though honestly. I say a lot of things." Kez paused for a second before continuing her story.
"Anyway he told me he was driving one night, and it was super foggy, and this car came out head-on because the driver couldn't see." Kez took a deep breath before continuing. "Jeremy swerved to avoid him and crashed."
Ryan and Min-gi gasped after what Kez said. They had no idea Jeremy went through all that.
" But his mom and sister were in the car with him and they died." Kez stopped. "It's obvious he blamed himself, you know? So I told him it wasn't his fault, he nodded, but I could tell he didn't believe it."
Kez was doing her best to fight back the tears that threaten to fall.
"So I was like okay for real, he nodded again. But I was like 'Whatever, you're not getting it.'" A tear did drop from Kez'z eye. "Then all I said was ' I think even though you live here, you never really left that fog.' And out of nowhere his number went to zero and his exit appeared."
"WHAT!" Min-gi and Ryan yelped.
" Yeah, I don't think he meant to leave just look. But, like, try telling that to a mystical vortex. I yelled for Morgan and tried to bring Jeremy back, but it was too late. She got there just in time to see Jeremy get sucked through. It was awful. And, like, I miss him too you know he was my friend... I messed up so bad." Kez allowed the tears to run down her face.
Min-gi could see how hurt Kez was from losing Jeremy and how how badly it ruined her and Morgan's friendship. He could see why she did what she did.
"Kez, our numbers are suppose to go down." Min-gi circled around the desk moved the sign and started to stroke Kez's head. "Isn't that the whole point of this?"
"Well-" Kez pondered before giving an answer. "Yeah."
"So you didn't mess up." Min-gi gave Kez a small smile to reassure her.
Min-gi continued to stroke Kez's head, Kez appreciated what Min-gi was doing but she still felt guilty.
"You helped Jeremy deal with a really horrible - sad thing that happened to him." Min-gi continued. "It's not fair for Morgan to be mad at you for it, sad yeah , but not mad."
Kez hesitated for a moment and was deeply unsure of herself.
"I helped?" Kez's voice was so broke and uncertain. Was it true, did she really help someone, instead of ruining someone's life?
" You still lied about why you were bringing us here and that was really, really wrong." Ryan angrily pointed out as Kez hung her head in shame. "But-ugh."
"I think you're basically good Kez, you just, like, need to get better at it." Min-gi added. "Like apologizing for your actions."
"Yeah?" Kez questioned, until she was sure of herself. "Yeah!"
Min-gi smiled, happy to see Kez slowly return to her former self, Ryan gave a small one still miffed that Kez lied about the whole meeting Morgan thing.
*Crash*
Ryan and Min-gi quickly held onto the desk for dear life as Morgan began to shake violently. Blue flashed of what seemed to be lightning illuminated the sky outside. The trio rushed to the window to see what was happening only to see the sky and maze seem to glitch. In fact everything seemed to shake: the chandlers, the suits of armor, the ground, etc.
"Morgan, don't!" Kez cried out to Morgan.
"It's not me, I don't know what's happening! AHH!" Morgan cried out as if she was afraid of what was going on too.
Suddenly a flying ball wires burst through the walls and plummeted to the ground. The trio got out of the way as debris flew in their direction. Kez was left frozen in place as if someone his the glitch-paused button on her. Min-gi and Ryan were on the ground a little damaged, but okay. The ball of wires emerged revealing herself as the Stewardess, but something was very off about her.
"Hello? New announcement!" The Stewardess announced in a different voice as teal flames were coming out of her eyes and mouth. " You're all on your own now so -ugh. Sorry. We're all on our own."
"Okay. How do I?" The Stewardess asked herself looking at her claws(?) as if trying to see how they work. Then she flashed a smile (Seriously, was I the only one freaked out by that smile ?...No? Just me? Okay, then back to the story.) Her claws attacked Min-gi and Ryan as they shielded themselves from the attack, only to see the Stewardess was removing their boots. Kez snapped out of the glitch-pause confused on what just happened. The Stewardess's eyes flashed red as she jumped out the window and exploded. The trio ducked as bits of the Stewardess came flying inside.
"Ryan!" Min-gi gasped as their numbers began to spin.
Both watched as their neon-green-glowing-numbers returned to 202.
God, did that number haunt them. It was practically laughing at their faces at this point.
"They moved, but they didn't change." Ryan snapped, defeat dripping in his voice.
Min-gi turned to Ryan to see him cover his mouth and hear Ryan sniffling. Of course, Ryan would be crying, who wouldn't in their situation? Then, Ryan's crying sounded like laughing?
"Ha, ha." Ryan uncovered his mouth then burst out laughing like a mad man.
Ryan's laughs were usual filled with mischief and joy and contagious. This laugh was someone realizing that all their hopes and dreams had been crush, no, destroyed.
"Ryan?" Min-gi pleaded as a worried expression was written on his face.
Ryan got up and walked towards the staircase still bitterly laughing.
"It's always gotta be something, huh?" Ryan just shrugged as he turned around.
"Ryan? Where are you going? RYAN?!" Min-gi shouted as he watched Ryan continue to climb up the left side split stairs.
It wasn't until Ryan was out of sight was when Min-gi ran up the stairs cursing himself for not chasing after Ryan when he started to ascend the staircase. Kez zipped passed Min-gi until she was out of sight only leaving her trail of fairy dust. Min-gi followed the trail of Kez's pixie dust hoping Ryan wasn't about to do anything reckless.
*SLAM*
Min-gi ran down a long hallway until he caught sight of Kez's light.
"Ryan, please, open up!" Kez begged as fairy dust turned into a fist and continued to bang on the door.
"NO!" Ryan shouted back. "Go away!"
"Ryan, it's me, Min-gi!" Min-gi gently knocked on the door.
"Go away!" Ryan shouted again. "I don't wanna talk to you either!"
"Ooh, I like this one." Morgan spoke.
Min-gi glared at Morgan (actually the ceiling) for that comment. Min-gi placed his ear on the door and gentle knocked again.
"Ryan, please let's talk about this." Min-gi tried to reason with his friend.
"Just leave me alone!" Ryan cried out from the other side of the door.
"Ryan, please open the door!" Min-gi voice became more frantic as he pounded on the lock door.
*CRASH*
" What are you doing? Get down from there!" Morgan demanded.
That was it Min-gi summoned all the strength within him and used his shoulder as ram and busted through the door. Min-gi fell to the ground with the door, no doubt he would feel pain in his shoulder for about a month or so, when he looked he saw Ryan standing at the edge of the window ready to just jump.
"Ryan, don't!" Min-gi got to his knees.
Ryan turned on his heels facing Min-gi and Kez, tears and snot running down his face like Niagara Falls, his face full hate, sadness, and hopelessness. And his eyes that once burned with life and joy were so pale.
"Ryan, please, we can talk about this." Min-gi begged as tears ran down his eyes.
"Why not?" Ryan stated coldly. "No matter what we do our numbers revert back, a bunch of denizens outside are gonna kill us any second now, and we're in a murder castle. Jeremy spent five years here Min, five years! How long will it take us to get our exits - if we ever do?"
"We'll get our exits, Ryan, I promise. Then well do what we said we'd do like in middle school." Min-gi pleaded. "Hell, you already did the half: been on tours, working on the album, you even got a show in New York City!"
New York City
Ryan gritted his teeth at his own lie coming back to haunt him. Ever show he ever did he went unnoticed as if we was actual a wallflower on the side then actually on stage. Hell, how many kids parties did he do and the kids were more interested in the clown who could only do snake animal balloons or bars where everyone was too wasted to hear him play? Now he was dragging his best friend along just because he couldn't take care of himself. Min-gi who was going to uni, who would probably meet a girl there and the two would be hitched come next semester, who would become a yuppie with a successful finance business all because of him.
"I'm sorry, Min-gi, for everything." Ryan turned on his heels ready to drown in the cold water or be stabbed by the sharp rocks below.
"RYAN!" Min-gi rushed as fast as he could, even faster than when he ran out of battle of the bands and wrapped his arms around Ryan's waist and pulled him back into the room.
"NO!" Ryan shouted as he used his hands and legs to wedge him inside the window.
" Ryan!" Min-gi hissed as he continued to pull Ryan back into the room; Ryan really was stronger than he looked.
"Ryan, no!" Kez pleaded as she flew out the window and slammed into Ryan's chest trying to help push him in.
"ENOUGH OF THIS!" Morgan shouted as she commanded a couple of scarves to wrap around Ryan's body restricting his movement.
With Kez's final push to Ryan's chest he fell into Min-gi's arms.
"Let me go, let me go!" Ryan thrashed trying to get Min-gi to drop him.
"You three out, now!" Morgan commanded.
As soon as the three were out the door locked itself and a suit of armor blocked the entrance to said room and many other rooms. Min-gi continued to walk until they were almost back at the staircase and saw two room that was open.
The room was much smaller than Jeremy's room and the one before, but was still a decent size.
"He can stay in here. The windows are too small for him to jump out of." Morgan said with no form of hatred in her voice.
"Thank you, Morgan." Min-gi replied.
Morgan didn't reply back, Min-gi took it as even though she was mad at Kez and them being here, she wouldn't go as far to be mean after Ryan's attempt at suicide. As soon Ryan stopped squirming the scarves released him from his prison. As soon as he was free Ryan hugged his knees to his chest and cried.
"Ryan, I-"
"Please, leave me alone Min-gi, I just want to be alone." Ryan said as he plopped next to the wall. "I won't do anything dumb, I just want to get some sleep."
Min-gi pondered for a moment, for now Morgan wasn't gonna kill them, and he didn't see anything in the room Ryan could use to kill himself with.
"I'll be in the next room if you need me." Min-gi answered as he shut the door behind him.
The castle became silent the only sounds were Ryan's whimpers and cries from the other side of the door. Min-gi sat down with his back to the door, staring blankly into nothingness, with hopelessness written on his face.
"What are we going to do?" Min-gi asked himself as he cupped his face in his hands.
"We'll think of something." Kez answered as she rubbed her cheek on Min-gi's back hand.
"Thanks, Kez." Min-gi thanked the tiny bell.
At least one of them was being hopeful at the moment.
*GROWL*
Min-gi clutched his growling stomach as he blushed. It just occurred to him that the three haven't eaten anything since the giant roller skate car, where what they could afford was an order of small-miniature fries, a pack of minty gum from the snack bar, and a few ketchup chips Kez had leftover.
"Hungry? Let's go to the kitchen." Kez perked up as she floated above Min-gi.
"Ryan?" Min-gi knocked on the door. "I'm gonna get us something to eat, okay?"
Min-gi was answered with silence.
" I'll be right back." Min-gi said before following Kez to the kitchen.
Min-gi followed Kez on their way to the kitchen leaving Ryan alone.
Other side of the Door
Ryan's back was to the door as he hugged his legs to his chest as tears ran down his cheeks as he listened to Min-gi and Kez's conversation. He didn't want Min-gi and Kez to see him in this state it was just too much.
Ryan got up from his position and walked towards one of the rooms' windows. It was too high for him to climb up and way too small for him to crawl out of.
"Don't even think about it, mister." Morgan scolded.
" What do you care?" Ryan shouted at Morgan (actually the ceiling). "You were all fine and dandy about strangling Min-gi and I to death moments ago!"
Morgan was silent, she didn't have a smart-alecky remark to say. Ryan hid his smirk, it was a little victory getting back at the murderess castle.
"I-I didn't mean to." Morgan mumbled.
"Whatever." Ryan hissed as he removed his leather jacket.
"Jesus Christ, are those sweat stains?" Morgan gasped in disgust.
Ryan couldn't believe how quickly his normal clothes got stained. The last time he took an actual shower was in the Astro Queue/ Party Car, but that was like eighteen cars ago.
"Give me a break Morgan, do you know how many cars we've been through without running water?" Ryan asked rhetorically as he walked towards the bed.
"Oh no, your sweaty ass isn't sleeping on my good linens!" Morgan shouted.
"What do you want me to do take a shower or something?" Ryan asked rhetorically again.
"Yes." Morgan answered.
On cue the carpet grabbed Ryan and dragged him out of the room. Ryan fought to get out of his restraints.
"Let me go you haunted motel!" Ryan yelled.
"Oh stop your crying, we're here." Morgan groaned as she released Ryan.
The bathroom like most of Morgan was made of stone it had a large stone circular bathtub that was already filled with warm water, stain glassed windows, a large full length mirror, a marble counter with double sinks, a hamper, and shelf containing towels, robes, toothpaste, and unwrapped toothbrushes.
"Put your dirty clothes in the hamper and they'll be washed and dried." Morgan instructed Ryan.
"What? I'm not getting naked in front of you!" Ryan as his face bellowed turned red as he pointed at Morgan (actually the ceiling).
*SWAT*
"OW!" Ryan gasped as he turned around to see a towel rolled up that hit his butt.
"Like you got anything I want to see or haven't seen before." Morgan stated. "I'll leave you alone, if you're not done in ten minutes I'm coming in, and don't drown yourself."
The lighting in the room dimmed with only the lights from the stained glasses illuminating the room.
"Morgan?" Ryan questioned, but no response from the castle.
Guess she really did leave.
"Ugh!" Ryan groaned as he undressed.
He removed his boots thankful that his feet weren't infected or something, his pants, then his shirt, as he looked up he saw his reflection in the mirror. He was lost some weight while on the train he was already thin to begin with due to getting food from diners, gas stations, whatever he could snatch after shows, or a farmers market a few times. He saw the bruises from past events both on and off the train as Morgan's were still fresh, red, and painful. Ryan shuddered at the memory as he got into the tub trying to forget everything.
Kitchen
The kitchen was large with a huge island, hanging pots and pans, a large oven, stove, and cauldron. Min-gi looked around and guess with a castle this big of course the kitchen would be large enough to feed many guests.
" So I can cook us up some eggs, pancakes, or something?" Min-gi began speaking to Kez. "I know it's late for breakfast food, but-"
"But nothing, Min." Kez shushed Min, by putting a finger on his lips. " You and Ryan have done nothing but helped me since we've met, let me do something for you."
Kez then placed a mini chefs hat on her head and grabbed a spoon as she flew to a dumbwaiter.
"Hey Morgan, can we get some chow for my boys?" Kez asked.
"Ugh! You're lucky I care about my rep and don't want anybody dying of starvation in me, Kez." Morgan groaned.
Two plates of bangers (sausage) and mash with boiled carrots, and a basket of dinner roll fell on a tray in the dumbwaiter.
"This is pretty good." Min-gi said as he stuffed a forkful of mashed potatoes in his mouth and ate the rest on his plate.
"Yeah, Morgan's like the best cook." Kez boasted.
"Shut up, Kez." Morgan said with no venom or spite in her voice.
Min-gi grabbed Ryan's plate of food as he and Kez walked back up the stairs to Ryan's room.
"Ryan, we're back with food." Min-gi banged on the door.
" It's really good." Kez said chomping down on a dinner roll.
No answer.
Fear filled Min-gi's chest as he began to bang even harder. It was foolish, no, stupid of him to leave Ryan alone after her suicidal episode. Min-gi just continued to pound until it seemed like the door would break.
"Ryan!" Min-gi cried out.
"What?" Ryan's voice was heard.
"Ryan!" Min-gi cried out in joy as he hugged his wet friend. "You're alive!"
"Yay! Ryan's alive!" Kez cheered as she nuzzled Ryan's cheek and started to sniff him. "And he smells like a daisy."
"Don't smell me, Kez." Ryan moaned as looked down at his feet.
"Anyway, we got food." Min-gi gestured to a plate he left on the floor with what Morgan cooked up.
"Not hungry." Ryan muttered.
"Not hun -Ryan, we just spent like a day in-a-half without food, you got eat something." Min-gi said in a worried tone.
"Don't wanna." Ryan muttered again.
"Ryan!" Min-gi gripped Ryan by his shoulders tightly and looked him deep in his eyes. " You need to eat something, I don't want to lose you!"
Ryan didn't respond all he did was look down in defeat.
" Okay, break it up you two." Kez got in the middle of the two. " Min-gi's right Ryan. You guys haven't eaten much, at least eat some of the bread."
"If I do that can I go to bed?" Ryan asked.
"Yes." Min-gi answered.
"Fine, just let me get some clothes on first." Ryan asked.
With that statement Min-gi felt his cheeks warming up as he realized Ryan was half-naked. It was true Ryan had a large towel wrapped around his chest and wrapped head to dry his hair.
"Sure." Min-gi answered as his voice broke a bit.
Ryan just disappeared into his room where Morgan left his new cleaned and stained-free clothes on the bed.
"You can freshen up too, Min." Kez spoke. "Bathrooms down the hall on your left. I'll watch Ryan and make sure he eats."
"Thanks, Kez." Min-gi thanked Kez as he stroke her head earning a purr.
Min-gi entered what Kez said the bathroom would be, the bathroom was more elegant than the one in the Astro Queue/ Party Car. Min-gi was more of a shower than bath guy, but he wasn't going to complain it was better than washing up in some weird bathroom, orange water pond, or whatever else the duo had to washup at. Min-gi pondered on with knob was hot or cold water.
"Rights cold and lefts hot." Morgan stated.
"Morgan?" Min-gi jumped. "Are you spying on me?"
"Ugh, why do passengers always ask me that when I tell them the tub knobs?" Morgan questioned as is she was rolling her eyes.
The tub filled with warm water as a hamper appeard near Min.
"Place your dirty clothes in here and I'll clean them for you." Morgan stated.
"Can you bring them back here when there done?" Min-gi asked.
"Whatever." Morgan answered as she left Min-gi alone.
After the bath min-gi headed back to where he left Ryan and Kez. He couldn't believe how much weight he lost, he wasn't overweight, he was pretty well built minus his gut, but a little bit of it was there. He couldn't believe how badly he was bruised from what the train and Morgan did, lucky he couldn't feel the pain from them for now. As soon as the bath water went luke warm Min-gi got dressed in his clean and stain-free clothes and returned to Ryan and Kez.
*SNORE*
Min-gi looked down to see a sleeping Kez, Min-gi chuckled at the sight as he picked Kez up in his hands.
"Brave little bell." He chuckled.
Min-gi turned to see that Ryan's door was wide open and thankful for it. Ryan was tangled up in the blanket snoring as loud as possible.
"He's asleep. Go be already." Morgan groaned sleepily.
Min-gi nodded as he placed Kez next to Ryan's head on the pillow and went into his own room. Despite how plus and comfy the bed was Min-gi was still worried about Ryan and what happened today. And what would happen tomorrow.
