Miss Queen B: Hello all you wonderful Readers, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and family time. My was Ok, ate a lot of food and bought a lot of useless junk during Black Friday so same old, same old. LOL. Notes:

Note one: Thank you so much for all the reviews from the first chapter and my surprised one-shot Red Afterglow. Always wonderful to read no matter how positive and strange they are. I love them all. I can't what to read the reviews for this chapter. :)

Note Two: Sorry fo the long wait for this story, I literally have no free time due to the holidays and working on other writing projects to update faster. I am trying my best to keep up with this story. I actually finished this chapter a while back, but after going over it again for the final touches, I wasn't happy with it and redid some of the work again. For one thing, I wanted to add more scenes where Rodan and Goji interact with each other since there wasn't much of that in the original work and more back ground information on Scylla. Hopefully it makes sense once you read it. I also hope this long chapter will make up for the long wait as well.

Note Three: So about this chapter: Mosura tries to get Rodan and Goji to talk. We get a very ackward lunch date between the three followed by Rodan trying to be sneaky to get some alone time with Mosura.

Enjoy

Part IV

Different

~I've learned

That two people can look

At the exact same thing

And see something totally different~

She forgot how nice and peaceful Rodan's island could be. Even the colors in the sky and the scent of the breeze was different from her comfy home. It was more cozy and warm thanks to his active volcano and gave their surroundings a nice, slight ember scent. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly in a relaxing sigh. It sure brought back memories of her being here for those couple of months when she was separated from her King. She used the word separated because "Abandoned" was too hurtful to say out loud or in front of her mate. It was not something he wanted to bring up because it would mean he would have to admit he made a mistake. In front of her, about a mile or two away from the small piece of land, she could see her King's sharp plates peeking out of the water while circling around to keep close watch on her. She couldn't help feeling a little offended by his presence. Yes, it was a habit for him to watch over her or escort her, but this is flat out Hatchling-sitting in her eyes. She didn't see Rodan as a Threat, so why so much tension?

How the fuck do you get this stuff off?

She snapped out of her thoughts and turned her attention over to Rodan, who was next to his volcano, trying to peel and scrape her web silk off his body. She couldn't help, but smirk at the Fire Demon's situation. Their little sparring match was short and sweet and less damaging than the last one. At least this time, they didn't crash in a populated area or get severely injured. While weak in brute strength when compared to Rodan or even her King, she does make it up with other certain ways to immobilize her opponents. Her bright rays can blind kaijus, her silk can slow them down for her to escape or trap them and her stringer can be fatal with the right amount of venom. The thought of her Stinger made her eyes tail over to Rodan's right shoulder and sure enough the hole she created with her stinger was still there. She could literally see the texture of the Volcano through it. It made her frown even though back then he didn't give her much of a choice. At least it wasn't fatal, she only gave him enough venom to paralyze him, so he couldn't intervene with her King and the False one. When Rodan lifted his head up in an attempt to tear some silk off his chest, she saw the four deep scars right where his heart would be at. The leftover reminder of her King's brutal beating during his violent delusion. Her King wouldn't even deny it either to give her a peace of mind, he was so close to ending Rodan's life over something silly in her opinion. Willing to tear out his heart so he wouldn't come near her ever again because of a bad judgment call. That made her feel guilty. The Fire Demon endured so many wounds thanks to her and her King. Perhaps they will be the death of him as he stated before they went their separate ways.

Language, Rodan…She said, softly to him. Smiling at his frustration of having silk all over him. No doubt he's just moody from losing to her. Her silk managed to cover his entire body, preventing him from flying properly and he ended up crashing to the ground like a fallen rock.

He stared at her, grumpy, but clearly not upset with her and huffed, My home, I can speak however I want.

That is true, but it's just common courtesy to show manners in front of a female.

He rolled his eyes before giving her a smug look with a pinch of flirtation. You're so bossy.

She smiled again, feeling a tiny powder of warm blush forming on her cheeks. A sharp pinch flew across her mind causing her to flinch in pain. Her King's signal of him getting impatient for being here. He stopped speaking to her a while back which indicates he was probably still mad at her or finally accepted her visitation time with Rodan…Most likely still mad at her. She looks up towards the ocean to see his eyes slightly peeking out of the water, glaring at her for taking too long. She scoffed, they only been here for a few hours, she wanted to catch up on things with Rodan. Was that so much to ask? Her antennae shot up when she felt Rodan sitting down right next to her. So close she could actually feel the heat coming off his body and the tiny crackle sounds of the fire burning in his wings. She was about to move, in fear his embers might burn a few holes in her colorful wings when she noticed a slight frown on the Fire Demon's beak. His bright yellow eyes were darting all over the place, from the sand beneath them to the ocean where her King was waiting. Her Senses were spiking, he wanted to say something, but was too tense to say it out loud. She sighed, her King was making it hard for the Fire Demon to speak, and with very little time she had left, she might as well start first.

She cleared her throat and began to groom her fur to get rid of the burnt tips and soot. Something on your mind?

That made him flinch and she was somewhat flattered. Rodan was twice her side and could easily kill her with his flames or large talons, yet the sound of her voice made him flinch. Is it that obvious?

She hissed when she moved to get in a comfortable position. Feeling the thin cuts she got from their sparring match on her back. She was pretty sure the white fur was stained with her blood, but it was alright. They will heal and a little water will wash away the dirt and mess. A little, plus I can sense it. She said, tapping her head with the point of her claw.

He gave her a warm smile and it was nice. Right, I forgot you can read minds, among other things. He said, reaching down to gently tap her head with his claw.

She playfully pushed his claw away, giggling only to feel a strong pulse coming from the ocean. They both looked to see her King's plates pulsing. Warning Rodan to stay back. Goodness her head was throbbing from feeling all her King's distress. Rodan let out a small rumble before retracting his claws back.

He then clicked his tongue, clearly annoyed about being watched, but she had to admire him, he had better patience than her King. You know, I never thought you would come back. When you left, I thought it was permanent. He said, very quietly before tearing off another piece of silk from his shoulder.

She twiddled her claws. I…I was worried about you.

His eyes perked up. What? Why?

She couldn't help, but stare at the giant scar on his chest. How could I not? The last time we saw each other…it didn't end very well. All I keep remembering is that night when my King almost took your life.

But you saved me.

By pure luck, Rodan. I waited every single day for him to come back and when he did, I was gone and you took his wrath full force. I kept asking myself what if I showed up too late or too early? Would things have ended differently? Rodan, I was half way home, but part of me didn't like how things ended between us which is why I flew back. I wanted to talk things out, but then I felt something eerie in the air. I flew as fast as I could to your island thinking the worst, but I never thought I would see my King holding you down and choking you to death. You could've died, Rodan and it would've been all my fault. I couldn't believe I left you alone and injured like that.

Calm down, my Queen. Rodan panicked while holding up his claws as if trying to block her tears. Last thing he wanted was for her to cry and have her King blame him for her sorrow and guilt.

Mosura. She said, wiping her face to get a hold of herself.

He hesitated on that, Right, but seriously, don't ever think what happened to me was your fault. If it makes you feel better, you could say I said a few smartass remarks to him, so I got what I deserve.

What remarks and was it the same so-called remarks the King refused to tell her as well? She knew Rodan had a smartass mouth, so he must've said something awful to piss her King off that much to choke him. Rodan, that doesn't make me feel better. She said, honestly.

Alright, alright, but look at me. He said, pointing his claws at himself. As you can see, I'm fine. Better than ever you can say. He said, with a cocky voice. He even got up on his feet to stretch out his wings and puff out his chest to prove his point. She couldn't help, but giggle. Yeah she could tell Rodan was different from the last time she saw him. He looked a lot healthier, stronger and brighter. It was quite charming.

He quickly sat down with a nervous look on his face when he saw the spikes coming out of the water again, but this time the King's head popped out as well. He nudged his head quickly to signal her it was time to go. She huffed and didn't want to argue plus it was getting late and it takes a bit to return home. Well, it's time for me to head out before he starts whining. She said, getting up from the ground.

That cocky smirk slowly went back to a bittersweet frown. Oh…so soon?

She felt bad. Unfortunately…after all, I told my King this was just a Welfare check. That was the only way I could get him to agree to this visit.

I see. He whispered, his yellow eyes burning with a longing glow. The same way her King's eyes would get when he's disappointed. Too bad you can't stay longer.

She giggled, Well, if you can convince my King then maybe…

He gave her a look. That's not funny.

A small sly smile crept on her face. Exactly. She said, before turning her back on him to ready herself to fly. What she didn't expect was Rodan whispering something rather softly to her.

...I've missed you…

She stopped and turned around while spreading her wings up high and wide to shield herself and him from prying eyes. Her head started to hurt from the King's stress level reaching a high peak, but she didn't care. She had a feeling Rodan wanted privacy.

Looking away to avoid eye contact, he continued. I don't care how you want to take it, I just needed to say it. I've missed you...a lot.

She didn't know how to take it, and had to give Rodan points for saying that knowing her King could've heard it. How should she take it? Like missing her as a friend, company or something else? She can't really complain since after all she wouldn't be here if she didn't miss him as well. What terrified her though is she didn't realize how much she missed him till after seeing him face to face again.

She smiled nervously at the Fire Demon, You're sweet. I've missed you too.

His body relaxed and he let out a soft sigh as if he was happy with that response. It looked like it took a lot out of him just to say those three little words. He took a step forward and leaned down till he was at eye level with her. His warmth actually made her cheeks burn a bit. When can I see you again? He whispered.

She could feel that fiery heat coming off his body from being so close and it made her head hurt even more. Her King was getting impatient and felt like it was taking everything in his power not to intervene since it would go against her wishes. No doubt she's going to hear about it all the way home. She stared into Rodan's eyes and they were filled with hope and eagerness. He really wanted to see her again and she did too.

I'm not sure, but you know me, I always come back. She said, trying to joke a bit.

He slightly frowned a bit, I understand with the King watching.

He means well. She said, looking away while trying to tone down the blush in her cheeks.

His claws ran down to his chest where the scar was as if remembering how much her King loves her. I know he does. He said sarcastically. Enjoy your trip home, my Queen.

I will. I'll see you soon. She said. She was surprised Rodan bowed to her before she flew up into the air and headed over to the King. She landed on his back between the two largest plates since she could fit nicely when he swims fast.

You ready to go home, my King? She asked. When he didn't respond or move, her antennas perk up. My King?

The Queen leaned forward to see her King staring at something intensely. She trailed the burning stare over to Rodan, who was looking back at the King with the same ugly look. The staring went on and on till finally, Rodan turned around with his head held up high and flew back up to his volcano. Her King snorted and turned the other direction away from the island and swam off as fast as he could. She waited till she could no longer see the volcano in her sight before saying something.

What was that all about? She asked.

Nothing. He snorted again. He snorts a lot when he's in a bad mood or pissed off at someone. (So is your crappy mood over now?)

She rolled her eyes, but couldn't help smiling. (Yes. He's fine….healthier and happier. What can I do to repay you for your kindness)

(First, it wasn't out of kindness. More like I couldn't take your nagging anymore. Second, don't pay me back because this little trip was a one time thing.)

She huffed, (We're not having this argument again.)

(You wanna bet?)

0000000000

Six months later…

Time passed rather quickly for her and despite her King's yelling, threats and tantrums, silent treatments and mood swings, she would still make an effort to visit her fire demon friend every so often. The King, of course, would follow and keep his distance, so Rodan wouldn't feel so tense or threatened by his appearance and she thought after a few visits, things would get easier.

She was wrong.

Very, very, wrong….

It seems like she can't get the two kaijus to co-exist with one another. Granted, her King had a hard time getting along with anyone except for a Claw-ful of kaijus, but this was just plain ridiculous. There was simply no win-win situation in her perspective. When she's out and enjoying Rodan's company it would make her King sulky and moody, but the longer she stayed away from her friend it made Rodan a bit bitter. The two males would give each other the stare down, trying to size each other up like any typical males would do when it comes to their ego and stupidity. Why they did that, she'll never know. This wasn't a Courtship, she was already marked and owned by her King, so there was no point for all the tension in the air. In her defense, she tried to get her King to lighten up, even going as far as asking him to join in on her and Rodan's conversation, but her King refused to acknowledge the fire demon's existence no matter how many times she tried to get those two to talk. Rodan was the same way, but she couldn't tell whether he was afraid of him or just didn't care anymore what her King thought of him. What a mess she thought deeply, so much so that she didn't see the white puffy cloud in front of her. She flew right through it with ease, blinding her for a second or two, only to see Rodan appearing on the other side with a smirk on his face. She halted, nearly crashing into him, and floated there to collect herself.

Are you Ok? Rodan asked, circling around her while leaving a trail of smoke and embers behind.

Yes, just thinking too much that's all. She said, smiling.

It must be something deep since you haven't said a word since we left that Sloth Giant's Turf.

Every full moon, she made it her duty to check on the other kaijus to see how they were adjusting to the new World. Making sure they kept their distance from populated areas and staying out of trouble. The last thing she wants is conflict with the humans, especially after all the trouble the False King caused. Her King didn't like it due to his Anti-social ways, but she was very persuasive after telling him Rodan was going to join her this time. Though Rodan didn't seem to enjoy it either since most of her Followers (minus the Muto which she didn't bother to visit because of bad history with that species) were asleep.

Behemoth, Rodan, his name is Behemoth.

He rolled his eyes, Whatever and like the rest of them, the Old Fossil was sound asleep.

Be nice with the names, Rodan. Just like the rest, he's a very lovable male. Very…talkative, but sweet. You'd be lucky to have him as a Companion. I always tell my King he's a good Kaiju to go to when you need to talk.

He scoffed, Fine, whatever, so who's next?

She smiled, I've saved the best for last. We're going to check on my very best friend.

He let out a few playful clicks, Oh? The best friend? Who's the lucky Kaiju that managed to win that Title?

You'll see, I'm sure she's still sleeping, but I like going over there to make sure no one is bothering her and to clean up the place. She said, with a smile.

Rodan looked at her like she was silly. Do you ever get the feeling you care a little too much, my Queen?

Mosura. She corrected him. As much as she cherished the Title as Queen, she didn't like her friends to call her that. She wanted them to treat her like any normal kaiju. And no, I don't think I am. I mean I'm sure there were things you did for your best friend because you love them.

He thought about it, Alright, I see your point. My old companion was never good with direction so I was the one he would count on to navigate. Among other things.

How sweet. She said, before flying ahead, Let's get going, I want to get to her sleeping spot before sunset.

Lead the way. The Fire Demon said, politely while following her.

She looked down at the ocean water, seeing her giant shadow casting over with Rodan's following closely behind. The day was bright and sunny and the smell of the salt water was quite refreshing. Yet there was a small pinch of dull pain in the back of her head thanks to her King. He was close by, practically underneath her in the dark parts of the ocean, the only place he can go to soothe his bad mood and check on underwater kaijus. He was still respecting her wishes not to intervene or cause trouble during her visits with Rodan, but that doesn't mean he was happy about it. He was still giving her the same attitude like he did on day one and it's starting to wear her down a bit. Still, she tried to stay positive and with that in mind, she let out a cheerful whistle before flying down to the ocean to let her feet glide across the water smoothly. In return, she felt a deep pulse coming from underneath and a flicker of blue light from her King's back plates.

After flying for another hour, they finally made it to their final destination. A small secluded spot of land near the coast. She landed gently in the shallow part of the water and looked around to make sure there were no humans in sight. A few seconds later, the ground rumbled thanks to Rodan landing hard right next to her, filling the air with sizzle sounds thanks to his fiery wings touching the water. He folded his wings in and scanned his surroundings. Are we in the right spot? He asked, doubting her.

She walked forward only to stop when she was on land. Of course, why else would I land here?

He did a quick spin. I'm not saying your eyesight is bad, my Queen, but I don't exactly see a giant, sleeping kaiju around.

Oh, she's here. She said, while pointing at something in front of her. You see that round-looking hilltop over there? She asked which Rodan nodded after taking another look around at his surroundings. That's her shell.

Rodan stood next to her to take a closer look. Oh, now I see. Hard to tell with all the salt water crust on it and dirt.

That's why I come by and polish her up. She said, walking over to the shell and couldn't help, but leaned against it for comfort. Oh, how she misses her one and only, most trusted friend in the whole wide world. She pressed the side of her face against the shell and hum gently from the sound of Scylla's heart beating peacefully and the flow of the radiation coursing through her body.

Funny, I never pictured you being friends with a Squid kaiju.

She smiled from his comment, it wouldn't be the first time she heard something like that. When you live as long as I have, you learn to befriend everyone, Rodan.

Just saying, for someone full of grace and beauty and morals, I didn't think you would agree to those Breeders' lifestyle.

Using her wing to dust off the sand and salt crust, she refuses to let Rodan's opinion get to her. Well, I do voice my opinion about that to her, but I can't really change who she is. Plus, there are tons of things she never approved about me, but still supports me no less. Who am I to judge? She turned her head to see him tapping one of Scylla's long legs that were sticking out of the ground with his large claw. Oh, be careful. That's her leg.

Rodan quickly pulled his claws away to take a step back like he did something wrong. What? Don't you want her to wake up?

I do. Very much so, but she's sleeping off that spell False King inflicted on her and I have to respect that. I could visit her in her dreams, but I can't pry into her private thoughts without permission.

Rodan chuckled and gave her an odd look. A mixture of admiration and disbelief. I don't get you sometimes, my Queen, you have all these powers and never once thought about abusing them?

Now why in the world would I do that? She asked, stunned, but curious where this conversation is going.

He shrugged, I don't know, I mean if I had what you or the False King had…

Rodan, that's horrible.

I'm a Fire Demon, we live for destruction and chaos. You should know that. He said, smugly

I know, but not all kaijus are the same. I mean, look at my King? She suggested, ignoring the distasteful groan Rodan tried to hide. Ok, Rodan doesn't like it when she talks about her King in front of him. Just like her King, who pays no attention to her when she tells him about her day with Rodan. Oh kaiju, both of them can be so exhausting sometimes. Obviously, he's not like his other species.

That doesn't mean it's a good thing, if you know what I mean. He said, only to flinch when they heard a clash of waves colliding with each other when her King's plates appeared out of nowhere. As soon as they appeared to check up on her they were gone, back under the dark depths of the water to sulk. So…. How did your Companion handle the Brute?

Please don't call him that and what do you mean "Handle?"

I was around the Brute during my young life, remember? He wasn't exactly sociable. Shit, I lost count how many times Angurius had to push him away from killing someone, who pissed him off.

Including you? She said, slyly while inspecting a few shallow cracks on Scylla's shell. Leftovers battle scars from when she was terrorizing the cities. She thanked her lucky stars the Human's weapons weren't strong enough to shatter her friend's armor. They were worse when she first visited her sleeping spot, but after a couple of Healing Sessions, they were improving. She gently touched the crack spot with her claw and began to heal it. Her eyes trail back to Rodan, who was giving her a smug-like smirk from her question. I don't know why you're smiling like you've won a prize, I do recall Ang being so stressed out over you two. I should know the feeling, there were so many times I was caught in the middle of my King and Scylla's bickering, but like Ang, Scylla knew how to "handle" him…somewhat….

(Flashback)

Breeding Season was in full bloom for all the Squid Kaiju species and Scylla's little pack was no exception. All six females were happy with their batch of eggs with each one laying up to a hundred or more. Scylla's batch was high as well and was happy that most of her eggs hatched with very little duds. Their small home was now cluttered from one end to another with hundreds of newborn little hatchlings and everyone was happy…except for one…

She sighed tiredly at her King's behavior. Granted he did agree to guard Scylla's pack and hatchlings from predators (Squid hatchlings were soft thus a great food supply) under the condition they don't talk to him and let him sleep while she visits. The adults didn't mind the request, but hatchlings were a different story. She normally doesn't get involved with their fights, learning the hard way it would only make things worse since both sides of the party would accuse her of favoritism and would just stand back and watch them burn each other out. She admires her best friend's patience, something Scylla taught herself when raising hundreds if not thousands of hatchlings throughout her life.

How hard is it to keep your brats away from me. I don't like to be disturbed when I'm sleeping! Her King growled, clearly in a bad mood thanks to one of Scylla's hatchlings waking him up. In her friend's defense, it is very hard to watch a hundred and five hatchlings at the same time even with her help.

Scylla stood there with a bored expression on her face. As a full grown adult, she was never afraid to back down from other Bulky kaijus like her King. Her long, crab-like legs were strong, hard and covered in tiny little spikes with the tips razor sharp. Her polished, coiled shell was also covered in tiny, pointy thorns to prevent Flyers from attacking from above. The tentacles around her mouth were thick and strong and used to grab food or to shoot toxic ink, but according to her King, the only thing worse than getting hit with ink was having to listen to her unladylike attitude. I'm sorry, Goji, but after being asleep for three days, my hatchling probably thought you were a carcass to pick at. Scylla said, in her sweetest voice. A voice she knew her King couldn't stand and it showed by the way he was gritting his teeth.

Her antennas dropped, already predicting how this fight is going to go after witnessing them so many times. Her King would start it, followed by Scylla saying something sarcastically like now, then her King will make a threat.

Don't talk to me like that. You know I don't have to be here. I could just leave and let your pack's babies be someone's evening meal and pile of shit!

Then Scylla would throw in a rude joke.

My goodness, how can someone be so grumpy after sleeping for days. It must be from that poor diet of fatty meats.

Her King would then pretend to strangle her by shaking and fisting his claws tight. At this time, her mind would pulse from the unsettling whirlwind of her King's temper thanks to their Connection. And it was pulsing, alright.

Scylla and her King would then give each other the stare down with neither one of them backing off or backing down. Then after a few more rounds of yelling and insults, the name-calling would begin.

Stupid Squid!

Will you stop calling me that, how hard is it to call me Scylla! Scylla! Scylla! Scylla! You Fat Lizard!

I would if you'd knock off that Bitchy Attitude of yours and-

Oh, I'm the one with the attitude, I'm not the one lying around and stinking up the place with their moody tantrums and stuffy ego.

His back plates started to pulse bright blue, and before he could do anything he won't regret, he turned to her. MOSURA!

Now the two were looking at her, waiting for her to pick a side while her eye twitched from her increasingly painful headache.

(End of Flashback)

Those were the days, she thought, but couldn't help smiling from the memories. She really misses her companion and can't wait for her to wake up, so they can be together again. She wondered what would Scylla think of Rodan when she introduced him to her? Maybe she would get along with him better than her King. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts when a half-eaten whale floated right in front of her face. The smell of meat and blood made her face scrunch up.

Rodan? She looked up at the fire demon sitting next to her with curious eyes.

Want some? He asked with his sly grin. Blood glistering off his sharp teeth.

Yuck, no thanks. She said, pushing it away from her face.

He chuckled and tossed the meat into the air only to catch it with his large beak. The sound of meat mush and spit made her lose her appetite enough to throw the tree she was gnawing on behind her. The large log tumbled down the mountain they were sitting on and she cleared her throat. Always a messy eater.

He shrugged and spit out a bone. You don't know what you are missing.

She smiled and stared down at the small little city that was below them. After leaving Scylla's sleeping spot and pretty much flying all day, they decided to settle down for a late evening meal and sight-seeing. Rodan said this was the best place for scenery since the mountain is too high for humans to climb up here and it's close to his island home. She turned her head towards the ocean to see her King swimming around and grabbing the humans' attention. They were all crowding around the beach to get a look at her King's massive size and glowing plates.

She heard Rodan scoff, Those pests act like they've never seen a Kaiju before.

The Queen gives him a look before smiling, I think this is their first time seeing him doing something else besides leveling a city.

Rodan rolled his eyes and popped his neck. She felt a sudden warmth and realized he shifted a bit and was a little closer to her than before. She looked up at him and couldn't help, but stared at him like it was her first time seeing him. The warm heat coming off of him was quite gentle near her fur unlike before where his stress would bring out uncontrollable flames and black smoke. The tips of his wings were glowing warmly instead of smoke and even his red, magma armor had a nice satin shine to it. During the time when there were more Kaijus than humans, she would stay away from the Fire Demon species due to their aggressive behavior and volcanic territories. The couple of time she tried to make friends with one of them ended with them chasing her down as prey, but Rodan…he may put on a tough exterior, but-

His bright yellow eyes shifted down to her and caught her. What?

She pulled her head back a bit and blushed. She was actually stunned that she blushed. It was the same embarrassing feeling she felt when her King caught her admiring him from afar. Nothing, I'm sorry. She said, keeping her eyes down to focus on humans by the beach.

He licked his beak to clean the last bit of blood off and didn't buy her excuse. You sure? You were staring pretty hard at me. I'm Flattered, no less.

She might as well come clean since Rodan wasn't too easy to fool. This might sound silly, but…You look different.

He tilted his head a bit. Different…..what do you mean?

Well, it's hard to explain. You used to look so tired, dull and stressed out all the time during my stay on your island. It seems like every time I would talk to you, you would tense up or only give me one-word answers…

He stared at her like he was trying to read her thoughts. And now…?

The Queen giggled nervously. Why did she feel so nervous around him all of a sudden? She never felt that way before, but back then the only thing on her mind was the disappearance of her King and his well being. You look like you found peace within yourself and because of that I can actually see a bright orange glow all around you. Your somewhat rude sarcasm can be quite funny sometimes and I really adore your unique charm.. It's nice. I like seeing you this way…

Rodan looked away and she could feel the heat rising in his body. He cleared his throat, It's nice of you to notice, my Queen. It's not something I hear very often.

She smiled at him and could feel her wings light up. It felt nice just being next to him. She felt like she could breathe easily since things with her King have been very tense lately. She can't blame her King for all of it. She lost count how many times she disobeyed him when it came to defending humans and now she was doing it again with Rodan.

She cleared her throat. I better get going. I could feel my King getting restless with all those humans staring at him. With that she flew up into the air and waved good-bye to him. We'll see you later.

He frowns, Maybe next time it could just be you and me?

She stared back at him and wasn't sure if she should answer that or not. She knows he doesn't like her King watching all the time, but there wasn't much she can do without stepping boundaries or disrespecting her mate. Too bad there was no trust between the two males. If there were, maybe her King would give her a little more wiggle room and let her go out on her own without his supervision. It would surely ease the tension she would pick up from her King and Rodan.

There might be a way if you're willing to take a risk? She said, while brainstorming.

Rodan raised a brow, Oh, what do you have in mind?

Part V

Gorgeous

A risk…more like a death sentence he thought while sinking deeper into the hot lava of his Volcano home. Letting the lava massage his sore muscles and harden his magma-texture armor on his body while he replayed the conversation with Mosura over and over again in his mind. Mosura means well, it's in her loving nature for everyone to get along and he admired her for that. He loves her for that to be brutally honest. Only someone as rare as her would see the good in him even after he tried to kill her a few times. Normally, he would call those types for kaijus stupid, but…He huffed and rubbed his face in frustration. The warm feeling and urge for the beautiful moth was creepy up into him again and it was getting harder and harder to control it. She was back in his life and the last six full moons were the best times he had since…forever, even with the fat Brute watching them (mostly him) constantly. She had the time and patience to listen to him and joke around despite his Odd charm. Her smiles and giggles would always make him warm and compose and she just knew how to compliment him when he needed a pick-me-upper. He was truly feeling like his old self again and that's where and why the Brute has a problem with it.

It was no secret what the Brute truly thought about him. His distaste of him went all the way back to the first day Ang introduced him to the Fat Lizard. While the Brute was anti-social, he wasn't, in fact he loved being the center of attention especially with the females. He lost count how many times he pissed off fellow males for flirting with their girlfriends or mates and the many courtships he broke up due to sleeping with females that weren't his. He was young and stupid back then, a Regular as he would put it, a kaiju that fooled around a lot, but were a level up higher from those nasty parasites and Loose Breeders. But he changed, he had the ability to change after all, when he met his Mate, the first one (before Ang and Mosura) that had the ability to put up with him and settle him down. His mate was beautiful, but was no fool. She knew he had a reputation, her bitchy friends were nice enough to fill her in, but saw some good in him that he rarely shows. She made him work hard in their courtship, making sure he was worth it and to test his loyalty not to stray, which was silly in his opinion. He loved her, why would he want to lose that for a Fling. When he really wants something or someone, nothing else matters to him.

But then, just when he was getting used to living a happy life with a mate and eggs, in a flash they were gone and he was alone once again. Returning to his bad habits of using others so he wouldn't feel so empty inside. Pissing off the wrong kaijus, sleeping around just to get off and doing the Fly of shame the next day, and risking his life for cheap thrills with no regrets. Ang was the second kaiju in his life that tried to calm his destructive nature with the Brute watching from the distance with his disapproval looks and eyes rolling. The Brute didn't care what he did, he just didn't like the way he counted on Ang to bail him out from tough situations. Oh, he can remember the countless times Ang would have to convince certain kaijus not to kill him over his mischief deeds while getting slapped in the face the Brute's tail followed by a lecture. If you would had just kept it between your legs, you wouldn't be in this fucking mess, the Brute would shout when would lead to them fighting and drawing blood.

Ang warned him about his behavior. There's going to be a day where he's not going to be here to protect him after pissing off the wrong male or using the wrong female and then what? Of course, he didn't take Ang's warning seriously, he never thought Ang would leave him after everything they did for each other. After forming a strong bond and connection with him…

He pulled himself out of the lava and stood on the rim of the Volcano to dry up. The lazy bubbles popping underneath him made his head fuzzy. He can already hear the lava hardening and redesigning his armor skin, making him look freshly new like his younger days.

…After Ang's death, he took it really hard, going as far as blaming the Brute for dragging Ang into his rival fight with the False King. Till this day he didn't know what happened, only the Brute knows and most likely will take it to the grave. Without Ang to watch him, he started to dig deeper into his Bad Habits followed by making dumb decisions just to feel sometime inside like teaming up with the False King (he value his life after all and fuck, fire and destruction under the Fallen Star was sweet) and now, hanging out with the Brute's Beauty Bug.

Ang warned him. It would ring out over and over again every time he would sit next to Mosura or feel that hot blush across his face when her fur or wing brushed gently against him. And Ang was never wrong. He grew close to her when the Brute was gone, going as far as making a move on her and taking her with him through deep, heated trance of touching and tasting each other while the rain poured down on them. He flinched from his past memory, thinking about that night in the rain only takes him back to him lying on the ground, injured and bleeding and trying very hard not to piss on himself, while watching Mosura and the Brute argue over whether he should live or die. He was surprised the Brute didn't kill him, he could've easily swatted Mosura out of the way and stomp on his head till his skull crumble, but Mosura had a nice hold of him, and the Brute didn't want to upset her or kill in front of her knowing she couldn't handle Death so well.

She just had that power over males that adore her. Probably the reason he agreed without hesitation to her idea…her risky idea.

He jumped off his volcano and landed near the ocean to take a look at his reflection. Mosura wanted to have lunch and this time, she was going to beg the Brute to join them. Another attempt to get him and the Brute to talk and reconcile their differences. Good luck with that, there was a lot of bad blood between them so there was no way they could ever get along now. Especially since the Brute didn't like him, but Mosura did. No doubt the Brute will do everything he can to mess up this little lunch outing and degrade him in front of Mosura. Which would make sense, if he was in the Brute's position, he would use trickery to make the other male look unappealing to the female they were competing for.

Would the word competing even be the right word for this situation? Mosura already proved to him how much she loved that Fat Lizard when she pushed him away that rainy night. Still…

He wanted to make a good impression, prove to her he wasn't all the bad stuff the Brute was likely telling her. He thought about his old Mate, she wasn't the hot-tempered type, she would use her calm and composed nature to piss off those who would try to get a bad reaction out of her. Kill them with kindness, she would always say to him. Kaijus hate it when they can't get a negative reaction out of you. It would make them look like the monster and you the gentle type.

He smirked while he bowed down to his reflection to practice his matters. If the Brute is really going to join them on this lunch date, he'll be ready for whatever he brings.

After all, there's one thing the Brute can never outdo him at…putting on a Show.

00000000

Mosura told him to meet her at a small uncharted island, away from larger land mass and humans in order to keep the Brute in a good mood. She truly thought of everything for this Lunch date, all except the outcome of it or the warnings of having him and the Brute together in the same place. Oh well, he'll go along with it if it means collecting more favorite points from her. He didn't want to lose her knowing they were getting closer with each visit in his opinion. After grabbing a whale for him to eat and a couple of colorful trees she likes from the islands around his turf, he made his way over to the tiny floating piece of land. When he was getting closer, he could see the Brute and Mosura talking or arguing from what he was picking up from the sky a few hundred feet from the island. From the looks of it, getting the Brute to join them for lunch was harder than Mosura thought it would be. The sad, disappointed look on her face said it all. He couldn't help, but listen in to see what he's up against.

-can't you see this is bothering me? The Brute said, picking himself up till he was standing on his feet. If he didn't know better, the Brute was trying to put on a pitiful face.

How is this bothering you? Mosura asked, then jokily smirked. Please don't tell me, my Great King is jealous?

He wanted to laugh from that statement. No surprise, a lot of males were jealous of him. The Brute made a loud snort, spitting blue particles in Mosura's face. If you think for one second I would be jealous of that bird, you-

Now this was getting sad, he thought before letting out a loud cry while making sure not to drop the trees from his beak. They heard him and looked up to see him flying lower towards them. Mosura gave him a small smile before turning her attention back to the Brute. Please have lunch with us. This might help ease the tension. He doesn't feel comfortable with you giving him death glares.

I don't give a swimming fuc-

Language…

The Brute rolled his eyes and bared his teeth. I have every right to glare at him. You might not see it, but I've been around that little Prick, I know how he plays, and he needs to back off.

Now, now, no need for name calling, he thought, unimpressed by the names. He's been called worse than that when he was younger. Mosura sighed, My Love, I would never do anything to hurt you, but he is part of my life now and you need to respect that. You don't have to see him as a threat.

The Brute was getting pissed, which was good from his perspective. The Idiot tends to get ruthless and annoying under that sort of pressure. Yes, I do! He is a male and you are a very beautiful female. He told me things before I beat the crap out of him. He does not see you as some friend. He told me he lo-

He landed on the small island before another word could be spit out from the Brute's disgusting mouth. There was no way he was going to let the Fat Lizard make that confession while he's around. What made it better was his presence distracted Mosura long enough to ignore Brute's words. Her eye twitched and she rubbed her head from a sudden painful pinch. She did tell him, she was connected mentally and emotionally to the Brute and would get awful headaches whenever the lizard was in a bad mood. What she did next felt like something sharp impaled him right in the chest. She flew up to the Brute's face for a little snout nuzzling while asking him one last time to have lunch with them. The Brute's golden eyes shifted past Mosura's large wings and over to him. Staring at him with a firm face while making sure he gets the picture it was HIS face Mosura was nuzzling up against and his mouth she would touch for a small, warm kiss. Fuck you, Asshole.

The Brute then pulled away and growled. I'm going to swim around. You have till high noon.

Mosura frowned in disappointment. You know with me hanging out with him, you two eventually need to patch things up. She said, but couldn't hear the rest due to her whispering the rest close to the Brute's face.

The Lizard sneered back. High Noon! Before disappearing into the sea.

Mosura lowered her head sadly and floated there for a few minutes. He suddenly felt something eerie behind him that he quickly turned around to see the Brute's face above the water glaring at him once again. So sick and tired at the stares and death glares, he didn't even notice Mosura landing next to him, he glared back and sneered as well. It wasn't until Mosura made a few little clicking sounds that the Brute retreated back underwater. Leaving them alone in peace. Fuck, the Prick knew how to ruin someone's mood. No Offense, but your King is an Asshole. He said, calmly. Not even caring for being rude.

Mosura didn't even bother to defend that statement. You should hear the names he calls you. She said, settling down next to him. Her large gorgeous wings fluttered, stretching up as high as they could go and he couldn't help, but admire the way they shine in the sunlight. A gold highlight would reflect across the patterns and gleam brightly on top where the eye designs were. She then folded them inward before letting them drop gently to the ground. She then turned her attention to him, catching him grinning widely.

Nice Show. He said, before pushing the treats he brought towards her. For you, I know they're your favorite.

She smiled. Thanks, you're sweet.

He looked at his claws, trying to be sly. What can I say, I can be a big softy sometimes.

They ate in silence, that very comfortable silence where no words needed to be exchanged, just them enjoying the view of the ocean and the light gentle breeze. He was glad for the wind, it was blowing the smoke coming off his wings away from Mosura as well as some of his burning embers. Still, despite the lack of words and comfort, he couldn't feel totally relaxed, not with the Brute constantly making his appearance to shoot daggers at him before going back underwater. Ang was like that too when it came to making sure he was staying out of trouble, but at least Ang was nice about it.

Is something wrong?

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked down at Mosura, who was chewing on one of her tree treats. Lightly coating her white furry cheeks with leaves and bark bits. Cute.

I don't know how you can eat while being watched all the time. He said, pointing a bloody claw at the Brute.

She looked to see the Brute staring back and her eyes started to glow. Her Antennas started to twitch wildly as she began to argue with the Brute through their minds. He didn't know what they were saying to each other, but he was already getting tired of the whole thing. So fed up in fact, he got up and turned around so his back was facing the Brute and blocked him from seeing Mosura. Going as far as spreading out his wings to give them as much privacy as he can. Mosura's face turned bright pink from his move and had to take a few steps back to put some space between them and clear her throat. I'm sorry for that. You know how he is.

Oh, I know. Too bad it can't just be you and me. He repeated, remembering all the fun times they had when it was just them on his island home. There are so many places you need to see inland that I know you will like. He ended with a soft voice. The Brute might not like going on land, but that doesn't mean Mosura can't either.

You've asked that before and I told you he will not go for it. She said, though he couldn't tell if she meant being alone together or going to places further inland.

He snorted, Well, we'll just see about that. He whispered softly to himself. Unsure if she heard it or not. She frowned and that upset him. Hey, what's with the sad look.

She shook her head. It's nothing really, I'm just upset that he can't put his pride aside for one afternoon and have lunch with us.

He let his wings down, giving the wind a chance to cool her down from his fiery body heat. Well, that's not fair, it's our time. You're around him most of the day anyway. He pouted. He knew this lunch outing was a bad idea.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be nice to patch things up with him. I mean you two were friends.

He laughed so hard, it actually made her flinch. HA! We were never friends. Anguirus just pitied him. Why do you think he asked me to travel with them? Ang needed some positive joy in his life and he was definitely not getting it from that overweight, moody lizard.

His laughter died when she slouched with this hopeless look on her face. You two are so alike-

Ouch, she can be so mean sometimes.

-so stubborn, hot-headed, and prideful. Why is it so hard for you two to sit down and talk?

Once again, she frowned, dulling out her colors in her wings and feeling that sense of failure. Even her blue eyes were turning slightly gray from this failed lunch outing. It's hard to take this seriously when he couldn't stop looking at her furry cheeks and mouth. Still covered in leaves and wood bits, teasing him to reach down and clean it since she would always give him shit about his messy habits. Hell, it might even cheer her up since it was a nice gesture. With that, he placed the tip of his large nail underneath her chin and tilted her head up till her eyes were locked with his.

Rodan? She questioned, feeling her cheeks burn through her fur.

He cupped her face. Sorry, those tree's bits around your mouth are bothering me. He said, then proceeded to wipe them off tenderly, making sure not to break eye contact. And you say I'm a Messy Eater.

She stayed quiet and even after that last bit of wood bark was wiped away, he didn't remove his claws from her face. He brushed her cheek again, caressing it with his long nail and smiled at her.

Gorgeous…He whispered. Does the Brute tell her she's beautiful on a daily basis? Probably not, The Asshole was never good when it comes to expressing himself.

Her staring went on and on, only to get interrupted when the Brute's back plates appeared out of the water again. Her antennas shot up and she quickly pulled away from his touch. She groomed her face back to normal just in time for the Brute to crawl over to the small island with a giant colossal squid in his mouth. Dropping the damn thing right between them and forcing him to back away to prevent getting hit with ink or tentacles. He narrowed his eyes at the Brute while he laid down on his stomach next to Mosura and preceded to chew on the stupid dead sea creature.

Even Mosura looked annoyed at the Brute's pettiness, but didn't want to cause a stir. So she put on a small smile, My King, how nice of you to join us.

The Brute stared at her and snorted, It is lunch time. He grumbling said, And you begged me to be here.

True, but please, don't be so rude about it.

Now how in the world do you consider joining in to be rude? He asked, raising a brow.

For one thing, dropping food in someone's personal space comes to mind. He answered in a smartass tone.

If looks could kill, he would be dead before he could blink his eyes, when the Brute shot him a glare. Funny how you complain about personal space when you can't seem to keep your distance from-

My King, please. Let's not fight. Mosura pleaded while covering his mouth with her claws. The Brute pulled away from her touch and stared out at the ocean with a pouty face. Mosura sighed and took a few steps back from the dead carcass and sat there rubbing her forehead. He crossed his wings and shook his head. Well, this sucks. Part of him wanted to leave and take her with him to get away from this soul-sucking imbecile, but knew that would cause more trouble than solving them.

Kill them with kindness. His mind reminded him. Don't react, just focus on Mosura.

And he did and for the next hour, things were somewhat pleasant. Keeping his eyes on Mosura and smiling brightly, they made small talk like they normally do. Mostly it's Mosura telling him stories about her younger days back then way before she met the Brute or even her closest friend, the Breeder Squid. It was quite interesting to hear about all the stuff she did and all the kaijus and humans she met, but he guessed if you had the ability to live forever, you have all the time in the world to try and see so many things. Sadly, there were a few times he couldn't pay attention, letting his eyes creep over to the Brute to make sure he wasn't going to ambush him or embarrass him. The Brute was as still as a rock, paying more attention to the waves crashing against his fat body and soaking up the sun than what Mosura was talking about. Once in a while, Mosura would playfully swipe the Brute's face with her wing in an attempt to get him to join in, but he would just grumble and scoot a little more away from her.

Stop being so stubborn. Mosura whispered to the Brute.

Sadly for the Brute, he heard it and smirked. Yeah, Goji. stop being so stubborn and stinking up the place. He teased which got a glare from the lizard and a "Why" look from Mosura.

Do not call me that name. The Brute warned.

It got your attention. Lighten up. Why are you giving Mosura a hard time? He asked, giving him a sly smile. The smile the Brute would see too often before he did something mischievous.

Don't play "Nice" to me. I know what you're up to and if you value what little dignity you have left, you will knock it off.

My King, can we please be Civil. That's all I'm asking. A nice lunch and friendly discussion. Mosura begged while giving the Brute pleading eyes. That seemed to calm the building rage he could see fuming out of the Brute's head, but only by a little.

Mosura was sweet, too sweet. Where was that aggressive fighter he had to take down during the final battle with the False King. She surely didn't waste time stabbing him in the shoulder for acting out. If Ang was here, he would have already smacked the Brute upside the head for his behavior.

-He's willing to make an effort, why can't you?-

-How many times do I have to tell you not to compare me with that Fool-

This Fool is right here and can hear you. He said, waving his claw at the Brute like the smartass he is. Prick….

The Brute's eye twitched. And? Do I need to speak louder or use more colorful words?

Oh, he had colorful words he wanted to say to the Brute, but there was no way he was going cause an outburst with Mosura around. Besides by the way Mosura was rubbing her head, the Brute was the one acting like a Fool. He was about to say something, but Mosura beat him to the punch.

Will you two stop it!

000000000

After thirty minutes of painful glares and quietness and watching the Brute eat the rest of his meal, Mosura decided to break the ice. So…isn't this nice? When was the last time we all got together for food and light conversation. The Dead silence thickens in the air like a volcanic cloud with him looking at her bored and annoyed and the Brute rolling his eyes while shaking his head. Mosura laughed nervously, I mean I'm sure if Anguirus was here he would be proud to see you two together again.

His heart skipped a beat from hearing Ang's name and he could see the Brute trying to hold back bottled rage over their dead Companion.

Mosura, do not bring Ang up in front of him. The Brute said calmly without even looking at her.

How thoughtful of you to honor him by forgetting he ever existed. He grumbled while crossing his wings again.

No, I honor him by retrieving his dead body to give him a proper burial while a certain bird flew off crying and never looked back.

Boys, let's-

He tried to stay calm, but couldn't believe the Brute would use Ang to make him look bad. You know he wouldn't be dead in the first place if it wasn't for-

There you go blaming me. It would be so much easier to blame me then-

Stop! Mosura shouted while covering both males' faces with her wings. He was soon blinded by the bright golden eye in his face.

She sighed and retracted her wings. My King, please, I know tension have been high due to….bad circumstance, but-

Let's not bring up bad circumstances, my Queen. He said, while waving his claws in the air. Why bring up horrible memories like those?

Mosura smiled, Wow, Rodan, that's very mature of you.

Well, how else can you move on if you continue to bring up the past. How do you grow from it?

Mosura smiled even more, and he could feel himself warming up. No doubt earning a few extra points on Mosura's good list. The prize of it all was the vein pulsing on the Brute's forehead from all his Bullshit.

For Fuck sake, Mosura, don't tell you're actually buying his shit! The Brute spat, dumbfounded and ticked.

My King, language. We're around a guest.

Oh trust me, you and I both know his mouth is about as dirty as a disgusting Parasite. Are you that Naive? There's a reason he wants to forget our "Bad Circumstances" because he was the one who caused them. He blamed you and me for Ang's death. He's the one who sided with the False King, he wasn't controlled like the rest of the kaijus, he went willingly-

I know that, my King. I was there, remember?

He enjoyed it! Your so-called friend tried to kill you!

I know and I understand you're upset, but-

Yeah, you understand, but you still keep insisting we need to get along. He spat in her face, but she didn't lose her temper.

And what's wrong with that? Is it too much to ask for some peace between my friend and my King. My Goodness Goji, why do you always have to pick fights with my companions? First Scylla then Quetz and now Rodan.

Your COMPANIONS aren't exactly innocent, Mosura, but they don't have a horrible track record miles long like this idiot you're protecting. Do you think you actually know him? I've been around him for decades, do you have any idea how many times Ang had to butt in to save his fucking Ass for all the stupid things he did. That so-called "Charm" you would tell me about. Do you have any idea about all the females he used that charm on till he got tired of them and moved on to the next one. He doesn't care who he hurts, the only kaiju he cares about is himself!

Now he was getting mad, Don't act like you're better than me, Fat Ass.

Oh, I'm way better than you'll ever be.

Funny, I recall Ang giving you the same lecture about being a Male-whore isn't a great life after flaunting yourself around. I lost count how many times Ang had to risk his life to get you out of trouble, but at least I would thank him. I didn't tell him to shut up or snap my teeth at him!

Here's a difference, I've changed.

And you think I haven't?

What? You think being polite around Mosura and her giving you attention means you've changed! The Brute stated and at the corner of his eye, he can see Mosura just sitting there with her claws covering her face. It was hard to tell if she was embarrassed or crying. Why don't you show her the real You, Bird and see how fast she's willing to leave you behind. That female-chasing, troublemaking, selfish Asshole you really are. I just wish Ang had more common sense to abandon you instead of keeping you around out of sheer pity.

You were the one he pitied and don't be jealous your mate wants to hang out with me more than-

Mosura flew up into the sky before he could finish his sentence and left without telling them where she was going. Leaving him alone with the Brute in dead silence. Crap, so much for killing the Brute with kindness, the lizard had to ruin everything like always for him.

The Brute slouched and ran his claws down his face knowing he just messed up. Dammit…

He huffed, Well, I hope you're happy.

Like some many times in the past weather alone or in front of Ang, he was swatted hard in the face by the Brute's tail, earning a loud snap in his neck before landing face first in the dirt. When he lifted his head up, the Brute was already retreating back into the ocean while racing to catch up with Mosura. Dammit, he thought while lifting himself up into a seating position and rubbed his tender face. His eye was already swelling up and he could taste blood in his mouth from him accidently cutting his tongue against his jagged beak. He spat out some orange blood in front of him and sat there for a bit in self-pity, thinking.

There was no way he could endure another "Get Together" like that, especially now with a bruised eye. He hated this arrangement and he can tell Mosura didn't like it either, but it was the only way the Brute would let her see him and her way to compromise with everyone's needs. Too bad it couldn't just be the two of them like before. He wasn't lying when he said there were places around the world he would love to take her to see if it wasn't for the Brute's negative presence. There has to be a way to spend more time with her without her worst half….

He tapped his beak, thinking, while looking up at the sky for inspiration. He smiled at the endless blue sky and clouds. Now there's a place he and Mosura could go where the Brute can't follow.

That's it…

Part VI

Unseen

~He said, "Let's get out of this town

Drive out of the city, away from the crowds"

I thought Heaven can't help me now

Nothing lasts forever

But this is gonna take me down

He's so tall and handsome as hell

He's so bad, but he does it so well

I can see the end as it begins

My one condition is…~

Two nights later….

The night was cool and dark for her and her King, but sadly, even with this relaxing environment, she was having a hard time sleeping. It's been that way ever since she blocked the False King's spell in her King's head. She didn't know why, the last time she checked their connection, his conditions were still normal (Normal as in his old self) and his dreams weren't as bad to alarm her, so why was it hard for her to shut her eyes. Part of her felt like it was better to be safe than sorry. She was just checking…there's nothing wrong making sure nothing is going to happen to her King while he sleeps. The last thing she wanted was to wake up to see him thrashing around while clawing at his face and head again like he did nearly a year ago. The image of blood on his face and the derange look in his eye was hard to block out no matter how hard she tried.

She sat up and leaned her back against her King's sleeping form and used the quiet time to examine her wings for any tears or burn marks. She chuckled gently to herself over the word "burn marks." Sure enough she spotted a few little burn holes in her wings thanks to Rodan's dancing embers from his wings. She can't blame him for the holes, Fire Demons were known to cast flames when moving around or flying, making it hard for other Kaijus with fur or delicate features to go near them. Rodan told her he would be more careful, but he can't keep up with every little ember or hot ash. She gently spit some silk on the burn holes to keep them from spreading out during flight before lying down again on the cold ground.

She let out a small sigh and stretched her legs out a bit before leaning her body against her King's large neck to get comfortable. He was sound asleep, lying on his stomach with his legs and arms tucked under his body for warmth. His plates slightly glowing, making the inside of their underground cave light up with a dancing dull light. His calm breathing made his whole body rumble, giving her tiny form a vibrating massage, while making his gills flex out before closing back up.

The Queen stared at her King's sleeping face. Even when he's asleep, he still had that firm, serious look on his face. She can't blame him with the whole world resting on his shoulders. It would be hard for any kaiju to relax. Living in that constant fear everything could fall apart at any moment, so he must be ready and guarded. Plus, things between them have been very tense since her friendship with Rodan was taking up more and more of her time. Her King didn't like the attention she was giving to the fire demon since that would mean less time she was giving it to him. She couldn't help it though, after spending all that time with Rodan, she just felt more comfortable and outgoing than before and she never felt like she had to walk on spikes like she did with her King during his bad moods. Plus, it was nice to have another Flyer around, they were always the most active kaijus unlike the Sea and Land ones and Rodan would never argue with her when it came to exploring or spending the day out for fresh air instead of sleeping off and on. Not that she was complaining about her King's daily life, it just felt nice to do different things every now or then.

She snapped out of her thoughts when her King shifted a bit in his sleep before letting out a large yawn. His eyes slightly opened, glowing brightly thanks to his gold irises and stared at her bright blue ones.

Why are you still awake? He asked, his eyes slowly closing back up before he could finish his sentence.

She smiled. Just keeping an eye on you. I want you to sleep peacefully.

He let out a low rumble and chuckled softly, You? Checking up on me? That's funny.

She remembered Rodan saying those same words on top of his volcano during that awful storm. Which led to them fighting which led to them taking shelter which led to him kissing her, etc, etc. She didn't get, it seems like little things would remind her of him and honestly, it was starting to get to her. Like that time when her King brought a fruit tree, it had to be the same one Rodan brought her before taking her out for a fly. A very "too close for comfort" fly, but fun no less. It triggered something in her and made her realize how much she really missed him and wondered if he was alright. She really shouldn't be thinking about him at this time, she was still upset with herself and them after that Lunch Outing Disaster.

If you say so. I can't help, but make sure. Remember all those times you would wake me up due to your night terrors. She smiled bitterly at him. Recalling the first couple of years as King and Queen weren't exactly pleasant. Her King had a lot of trauma he would bottle up that would only show in his dream where he's at most vulnerable. Then after that thing with the False King…I don't want to go through that again.

Next thing she knew, she felt his arm wrapping around her tiny body before pulling her close to his upper chest. Letting himself tilt back till he was lying on his side. She shifted a bit to get her wings untuck and to get comfortable in his brace before letting out a small purr. With his eyes shut again, he leaned down to give her a small kiss on her mouth. You need to stop worrying.

Somebody has to. She whispered before nuzzling him.

It's not helping me though. I feel what you feel. It's hard to sleep if you keep cluttering your mind like that.

Sorry. She said, before taking a deep breath. I'll do better.

He hummed and nodded in his sleep. So I take it you're not upset with me anymore?

Her King's weak attempt to apologize in her opinion. After the lunch thing, it took hours for her King to get her to speak to him and even then it was only a few words. She knew there was going to be some tension during the Lunch Thing, but she didn't think it was going to be THAT bad. At least Rodan was nice enough to put some effort in it for her sake, unlike her King. One of her King's flaws: When he had a strong opinion about someone or something, there was no changing it no matter how hard you try. What's the point of being upset? You knew what you were doing.

He grumbled, It's too late for your sarcasm, Mosura.

You didn't have to be so rude, but I've learned my lesson. I'm not going to ask you to get along with him anymore. You can go back to watching with your glaring eyes.

If you really want to make me happy, you'll stop seeing him all together.

He was asleep before she could respond and had to quickly move away from him when he rolled over onto his stomach again to avoid getting squished. Sleeping on his stomach was his most comfortable position and a dangerous one if she wasn't careful. She pushed herself up till she was close to his face and closed her eyes. Letting his gentle breathing and radiation keep her warm on this cold night.

Her King shifted again til their snouts touched and licked her cheek before going back to dreamland. Once she felt that low hum coming from their Connection, she opened her eyes to look at him. Lifting her claw up, she began to trace the outline of his facial features as gently as she could. She started from the fading scar wounds on top of his head and trailed her claw down to his snout that was blowing out blue glowing particles. She held back her giggles when he snorted and chuckled in his sleep. It made her wonder what he was dreaming about for him to chuckle like that. The firmness in his face dulled a bit from it and left a small smile on his lips. Now that's the King she loves to see more.

His tail swished forward and wrapped around her to push her closer to him and he let out a small hum. She slowly traced his mouth, hearing the low clicks thanks to her claw gliding over his exposed teeth before trailing down to his neck where his gills were at. She barely touched them, yet it was enough to make him twitch hard in his sleep. His large arm reached out and grabbed her wing to drape over him and pulled it down to cover his face. Now she was looking at the giant eye imprint and thought what the King just did was cute.

The smooth wavelength she felt coming from her connection with the King was calm and easy. He was sleeping peacefully while his body and mind slowly recovered. Yawning, she was about to shut her eyes when she heard a small low thump from behind her. She turned her head towards the large entrance hole of the cave and didn't see anything, but the moonlight coming in. Thinking it was probably a tiny creature passing by, she shrugged and curled up tighter against her King's body. A moment later, she heard another sound and looked ahead to see a round rock being tossed into the cave. It rolled down and stopped just a few feet from her King's tail.

What in the world? She whispered.

Her King's tail tightened its grip around her while his back plates began to pulse. He growled in his sleep, showing off his sharp teeth, but luckily stayed asleep no less. There was a sudden gust of wind, sending dust into the cave and the smell of smoke filled the air. She recognizes that smoky scent, but there was no way he would risk coming over here knowing her King didn't want him near his home. She thought it was just her imagination till she saw little bright orange flicks of fire coming down, turning into black soot when they hit the dirt.

The cave started to glow brighter from her King's bright plates and he shifted a bit while letting out another growl. She wrapped her arm around his neck and whispered a few soothing sounds into his ear hoping it would settle him down. After a few nerve-wracking seconds, he growled one last time before going back to sleep. She sighed in relief before pulling away from him so she could sit up. Last thing she wanted was for him to wake up and find Rodan here in his territory. She got up as quietly as she could and started to walk backwards while keeping her eye on her King. He was a deep sleeper, but didn't want to take the chance. She carefully glided her wing off his back and waited with a fast beating heart for a reaction, but luckily she didn't get one. She looked back at her King one last time before exiting their cave.

She stood there in front of the cave and looked around. She didn't see him anywhere and thought maybe she was sensing imaginative things due to the lack of sleep till she felt another gust of heated wind in her face. She looked up and saw him flying above the island in all his fiery glory. He lit the night sky with his orange glow and bright ember flakes. When he noticed her, he flew down and landed in the shallow water like he knew better not to step on the King's land. The water sizzled and steamed when his wings touched it and he kneeled.

She flew over to him and landed a few yards away from him. Rodan? What are you doing here? She asked, knowing how bad her King would react if he woke up and saw him here.

He flashed her his cocky little smile. Don't tell me you're not happy to see me.

I didn't say that….I'm always happy to see you, but…just be thankful I woke up first to see what was making all that noise instead of my King.

I was careful, it's not that hard to get around him, he's always been a deep Sleeper. Rodan said while taking a few steps closer to her.

Do you always act like this, Rodan? She had to ask.

Act like what?

Cocky...confident...a risk-taker? She asked, afte rall, he was on the King's land, talking to her in the middle of the night. Very sneaky of him and for some reason, she thought it was funny.

Of course, in fact, I'm just feeling like my old self again.

She gives him a sly smile, So what are you doing here? Are you ok?

I'm fine...I just wanted to see you, that's all. He said, with a bittersweet smile.

Once again, she felt him heating up from his gentle words and could sense how nervous he was despite his confident pose. It was cute and flattering at the same time. It made her remember him always being like that when they were hanging out during her time on his island. Every time she had to get close, or joke with him it would bring a warm sensation out of him enough where she could feel it seeping into her fur.

Well, now you saw me and should probably get going before the King wakes up. She said, smiling.

He took another step closer to her till he was towering her like he would do to prey. She suddenly felt nervous, but didn't have it in her to move. His heat was nice to feel since she was outside in the middle of the cold night. I thought maybe you would like to go out for a fly?

Her antennas perked up and she tilted her head to the side. You want to go flying? Now?

Yeah, it's a nice night to see the lands. He said, with hope in his yellow eyes. They didn't glow bright gold like her King, but they were still nice. All the bright lights and colors with very little humans around to stop and stare. I've done it a few times and it's great…it would be even greater with a beautiful companion.

It did sound nice. Really nice. It's been a while since she flew around at night due to her using all her time to watch her King sleep in case he had another violent …

That does sound nice, Rodan, but I'm not sure…

He frowned, Aww, why not? Are you still upset with me over that Lunch thing?

Well, it didn't turn out the way I expected. She said, rubbing her dry eyes. I really thought if we talk things out, we can all get along and he would trust me going out without him watching me, but I guess I was a fool to believe that. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time my King didn't get along with my friends.

Rodan calmly examined his nails. Yeah, it was a bad idea…She gave him a slightly offended look before he continued by shrugging his shoulders,...but you live and learn. We all make stupid mistakes.

You didn't have to put the word stupid in it. She said, exhausted from being reminded of her failure.

Rodan tssk before smiling down at her. If it makes you feel better, I'm sorry for the way I acted. Me yelling and teasing that overgrown hatchling didn't help the situation.

She sighed, You don't have to apologize, Rodan. Though it was kind of him to do so. At least he showed some remorse.

If it makes you stop frowning like that, I'll swallow my pride for once and say it. He said, rolling his eyes.

She couldn't help, but giggle. You can be so…weird sometimes.

He raised a brow, Weird?

She nodded, Yeah, you show off this tough look, but deep down you're actually really sweet.

His eyes shifted around as if making sure there was no one around. Sweet enough to go flying with me.

She really wanted to go, she was having a hard time sleeping and a flight around the world would help, but didn't know how to approach it. If she wakes up her King, there's no doubt in her mind he'll blow up from seeing Rodan on his Island home which will lead to a lot of yelling and her preventing blood shed again…unless she doesn't tell her King Rodan is here. She could easily say she was going out on her own since she couldn't sleep and needed fresh air. Since the world is at peace now, it wouldn't be hard for her to go without an escort. She groaned, No…she couldn't lie to her King that way. Maybe if she explains Rodan's visit as calmly as possible, he might be Ok with it…I don't see why not, but it's going to be hard getting my King to agree.

She turned around, intended to go back to the cave and face the inevitable, when a large reddish wing blocked her from taking another step. The wing slowly pushed her back until she felt the warm heat of his skin behind her. She didn't know how close she was till she leaned back and gently hit his muscle-tone chest. She looked up at him, feeling small compared to his size. Rodan?

~I said, "No one has to know what we do"

His hands are in my hair, his clothes are in my room

And his voice is a familiar sound

Nothing lasts forever

But this is getting good now.

He's so tall and handsome as hell

He's so bad, but he does it so well

And when we've had our very last kiss

My last request is…~

We could...not wake him up. He whispered, his eyes flickered with a mischievous glint.

What? She questioned.

Come on, I'm sure you're getting tired of being watched all the time. He's asleep and we'll be back before he wakes up. I just want to be you.. He said, running his claw down her face before resting the bottom of his beak on top of her head. Only you….

She can understand he didn't want her King around since it just made things uneasy between the two males, but this…..Rodan, you know how he feels about that. She said, plus the way they were close right now, it made her blush nervously. Even more so when he started to twirl her right antenna with his long nail. The last time they were alone was on that stormy night and he caressed her. She blushed harder from the memory and told herself in order for it to be forgotten, she needs to stop bringing it up.

It will be fun. He persisted and she knew it would be. She loves flying around the world and it would be nice to have a flying companion with her since her King was only meant for water and land. Trust me, he won't get mad if he doesn't know.

Trust is such a fragile thing to her and she doesn't want to lose that with her King, yet on the other hand, she did trust Rodan and he wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. She sighs, Alright, but I have to get back before sunrise.

The fire demon hugs her from behind, pressing her body harder against his hot skin. Oh, she could actually feel the relaxing lava flowing through him and making her lose her train of thought. He was so warm…

All right! You won't regret it, I promise. Rodan said, giving her the biggest grin she has ever seen on his face before spreading out his wings. He flew up into the sky, hitting her with a gust of warm heat, smoke and tiny embers and waited for her to join. She looked back at the cave and felt her King still sleeping peacefully through their connection before flying up into the air to join Rodan.

She was smiling. Her heart was pounding and couldn't help feeling a little giddy as well as a small pinch of guilt, but she quickly tossed the guilt aside. They were just going flying, nothing more and it was completely innocent. There was no need to get her King involved.

How bad can it be?...

~Say you'll remember me

Standing in a nice dress

Staring at the sunset, babe

Red lips and rosy cheeks

Say you'll see me again

Even if it's just in your Wildest Dreams

In your wildest dreams

Even if it's just in your wildest dreams

Wildest dreams, ah-ha~
