"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"
"Who are you supposed to be?" Agent 1 asked. There were three mysterious figures to the right, and they all had masks on.
"We're not SUPPOSED to be anything. But I'll tell you who we ARE." The one on the right said. She flipped off her mask. "Say it with sizzle, I'm Frye!" She had short yellow hair, she had dark skin, big baggy pants that Cerrena thought were pretty sweet, a yellow turtleneck crop top, under a shawl thing that was also yellow, her socks were toeless, and she had an orange thing on her head that looked suspicious. Her earrings looked a lot like eel teeth. Her forehead was so abnormally large, it was awesome.
"You think you're cool? Sharks call ME cold-blooded." The one on the left said. She slipped her mask off and revealed a fan that seemed to just appear out of nowhere. "But you can call me Shiver!" She had shoulder length blue hair that covered her left eye, her pants had rips in them that almost looked like a shark bit into them, it was kinda cool. She wore some sort of like white wrap thing, and a long blue shawl. She had black shoes, and they had heels. She also had a headband on her head. Don't worry, her forehead was normal.
"Ay! (Make money! Get fish quick!) " The one in the back said. He casually took off his mask, not nearly as showy as the other two did. "Ay! (Big Man in the house!)" He was a big manta ray, white and gray. He had a piece of wood that was painted white with designs in reed on his head. No kidding-wood. It was tied on with red string. He seemed to have a normal forehead, for a manta ray.
"The Splatlands are OUR turf. " Frye said, putting a hand out.
"Only WE may loot here." Shiver said, waving her fan sassily. (is that a word?)
"Ay! (Yeah!)" Big Man said. He seemed…interesting. He was kinda odd.
"We are…Deep Cut!" Frye said, and they all stuck a pose. Everyone just liked doing poses, apparently.
"I…love them." Agent 1 said. I love them too! Cerrena thought. They were her freaking HEROS! To have them, just casually talking to her, was AWESOME.
"Whatever. What do you want, anyway?" Agent 2 said. "Wait…did you say Deep Cut? The Deep Cut from that Anarchy Splatcast thing?"
"Yeah. It's called a day job. You should look into it. Banditing is our REAL passion. Nothing can stop us!" Frye said, squatting down.
"Hate to interrupt, Fyre, but have you looked around? We've hit the jackpot! Who knew this was here?" Shiver said, gesturing to all of Alterna. "All this time, treasure was just sitting here under the Crater. Now it's ours for the taking."
"Ay! (Good eye, Shiver!)" Big Man said.
"So, are you gonna stop us or what?" Frye asked. "Because you totally can't! We're taking all of it for ourselves! Hahaha!" Cerrena was loving them more every second.
"Wow, it's like they rehearsed this whole thing. They are total pros." Agent 1 said. Shiver started laughing, slowly going backwards into a ninety degree angle.
"Aw, they don't seem scared. What do you have to do to scare someone these days?!" Frye said. Cerrena certainly didn't look scared, more…starstruck. Frye looked slightly disappointed.
"Ay! (...I got a little bit scared.)" Big Man said. He was a good friend.
Shiver cut in, snapping her fan closed. "Not that anyone asked, but I'm OVER this conversation. The treasure is ours. I'd wish you luck, but… I don't want to. Catch ya later!" She flipped her fan up, Frye stuck her tongue out, and they disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Cerrena was just standing there, not really doing anything. She was still so excited from meeting Deep Cut, she completely forgot about saving Macro. Fish tried biting her toe again, but it didn't work. Suddenly a voice cut into her headphones. "Uh, the Captain is wondering if you're okay." Agent 2 said. Cerrena jumped a little, and suddenly remembered-her friend was missing, and had to go get him.
"Squid nuggets. Let's go, Fish." she said, and kept walking to the pipe leading to the next site. She inked it, and it opened. She turned into a squid and went in.
She popped out on site two. She started walking, when she heard something familiar. She turned around. Fish had hopped off and was sitting there, humming. He was humming the freaking CALAMARI INKANTATION! "DUDE. You are freaking ADORABLE."
After Fish had stopped, she went ahead to the next kettle. She skipped one, but whatever. All that mattered was saving Macro at this point. This one was a sponge one.
She hopped in, and there was an option for DUALIE SQUELCHERS. "Would anyone pass this opportunity? I THINK NOT." She chose it. She continued on, and went into a launch pad. It launched her to a different platform, and the water was dangerously high. She saw a little thing in front of her. She assumed it was a sponge, so she inked it. It was a sponge, and it expanded, and she swam up. There were Octarians, and a good chunk of them too. She inked around, and splatted the ones on the same level as her. She inked a sponge, and swam up. There was another Octarian, of course, and she started inking it. "Ink THIS!" She did a sick dodge roll, but ended up falling off the edge.
"Well, that was dumb. He won't get me this time, though. Wait. Is he a dude? Do Octarians have genders?" She asked the other Agents. They didn't respond. "Hmph." She went into the launchpad again, inked the sponge, and splatted the revived Octarians. THIS time, when she went up the sponge, she dodged the OTHER way. There was some armor for her, so she took it. Now she looked cool. She went back down a level, found another sponge, and went up. There were a few more Octarians here, but they went down fast. She turned some more corners, and there were a few more Octarians. She went up another level, and there were boxes. There was also an Octarian above her, but she didn't see it. She was splatted pretty soon.
She got back up to the spot she last died at. She only had one life until she had to pay another fee (which didn't actually exist). She splatted the Octarian, and went up another sponge, and continued into a launch pad, and continued to the next checkpoint. The next Rea was pretty similar, but on the last part of it, there was an Octarian that kept messing with her sponge. She eventually splatted it, and moved on.
The next area was simpler. She inked a sponge, and there were three Octarians in front of her. She dodge rolled to the side, right before realizing she was going to fall off the edge, but there was no more stopping. She had an option to go back to the last checkpoint, which she did. She splatted the three Octarians, and continued on. She inked more Octarians that were in her way. She reached the goal, and finished the level.
She continued to where the signal was coming from . There were a lot of grates, meaning this impatient little squid had to walk the whole way up. Ugh. THere were some ink rails, but she eventually made it up to the top. She had to do like one other kettle, but whatever. She inked the kettle, and hopped in. Her only weapon choice was the hero shot, so she chose that one and continued in.
"I'm getting a strong reading. It might be them!" Agent 1 said. When Cerrena landed on a circular platform, a voice cut it.
"NOT SO FAST!"
Authors note: This one was kinda short, but I wanted the boss battle to be in the next chapter, and it's a little late so I wanted to sleep. You know, it's good for you and whatnot.
FREAKING DEEP CUT IS HERE! WOOO! Now, some of you might get mad at me, which is why I'm gonna give credit so that I don't plagiarize. That's naughty. Yes, I copied the Deep Cut encounter. I was going to have it different, but when I watched the cutscene, I was like "Naw. It's too beautiful, I want it to be the same." So you're welcome. Deep Cut, yes. I will make their boss battle intros be a little different, but this one cutscene was too beautiful I couldn't change it. So, yeah. Hope you liked this chapter!
