CHAPTER SEVEN
The Clash (Not The Rock Band)
As Sonic charged towards Saitama, he leapt over him, flipping himself upside down and allowing his giant katana to scrape the ground in an effort to slice Saitama in half. Saitama, however, dodged the attack with ease and delivered a swift flick to the sword, shattering the upper half of the blade.
Sonic landed and stared in shock at the damage to his katana. In anger, he stabbed what remained of the sword into the ground, and proceeded to run towards Saitama in a zig zag motion, flinging all manner of shurikens, darts, and knives at Saitama.
With his skill level, Saitama simply leaned whatever body parts were in the path of the many projectiles and dodged them with split second reaction time. However, some of the weapons managed to snag on his cape, producing several long and jagged tears.
Saitama glanced back, seeing the damage to his suit, and his eyes widened in anger, his brows now more pronounced and furrowed. Without so much as looking at Sonic, he stepped to the side and put his foot out at the last second, causing Sonic to trip and slide several hundred feet along the ground, dirt and lawn grass filling his mouth.
"Dude, could you maybe not destroy my suit next time!" Saitama yelled to Sonic across the field.
At that, Sonic leapt from the ground, spewing a mixture of dirt, grass, blood, and even a tooth from his mouth. "Sorry, Saitama, but I'm not leaving until I kill you!" He then whipped out several small smoke grenades and flung them across the distance towards Saitama, as large swathes of white smoke began to fume from them. Within a matter of moments, the field was covered with a thick cloud of smoke.
The young heroes Red Riot, Deku, and Uravity still stood idly by as they watched the field get covered in smoke. "We need to go get Bakugo while Saitama fights Sonic," said Kirishima, raring to join the fight himself.
"You're right," said Deku, "But we need to be careful. Speed O' Sound Sonic looks to be a tough opponent, so we need to watch ourselves while Saitama handles him. Uraraka, see if you can spot Bakugo from above. That way, it'll be easier to get him out."
"On it," she exclaimed, running forward and pressing her fingers together, before leaping up over the accumulating smoke. From within, the sound of Sonic's grunting could be heard as he swung to large daggers at Saitama at full speed.
"I've got a visual, Deku," Uraraka called out over the comms, "He's off on the far right side of the field, so he's not near the fight as of now."
"Copy that," Deku replied over the comms before saying, "Me and Kirishima are going to get him out. Keep an eye out from above, and let us know if the fight gets close to us."
"Copy that," said Uraraka.
"Alright, Kirishima, let's go!" said Deku, activating 20% of One For All and sprinting into the fray.
"Right behind you, bro," yelled Kirishima, pounding his fists together as his body hardened, running after Deku.
As the two entered into the smoke, they heard Saitama say in the distance, "Are you ok, Sonic? You know, a lot of smoke can be bad for you."
"DON'T MOCK ME!!!" screamed Sonic, before coughing. The sound of a sword whistling through the air could be heard.
"They're about 20 steps to your left," said Uraraka, "Try to stay away from the battle."
"Will do," replied Deku, as him and Kirishima frantically searched for the unconscious Bakugo. After a few seconds of searching, they heard the sound of faint coughing, followed by, "What the heck just happened?"
Deku and Kirishima immediately ran towards the source of the voice, and found Bakugo lying on the ground, his eyes cracked open. He sat up slowly and spat out some blood from his mouth. Upon seeing Deku and Kirishima, he angrily said, "What are you extras looking at?!"
"A bro who just got it handed to him by a bald guy, that's what!" said Kirishima, close to laughing. At that, Bakugo socked him in the shoulder, his fingers crackling with sparks.
"Where is he?!" he yelled, as some saliva splat against Kirishima's face, which he quickly wiped off in disgust.
"He's fighting a villain named Speed O' Sound Sonic," Deku put in, "But we need to get you out of here. You could be hurt."
"Hah, fat chance," huffed Bakugo, "I don't get hurt. I bring the hurt." He then heard the sound of Saitama and Sonic's fight off in the distance. "You're mine, Cue Ball." He propelled himself towards the direction of the fight, disappearing into the thick smog.
"That's not good," said Kirishima as he looked on. "Wouldn't that make him the villain in this case, though?" he mused to himself.
"Uraraka, we have a problem," Deku spoke over the comms, "Bakugo seems fine, but now he has it out for Saitama. He's on his way over to try and defeat him."
"Of course he is," Uraraka said with exasperation, "We can't have him interfering in the fight though. He could get seriously hurt, especially if he just woke up."
"Yeah," said Kirishima, "I say we help Saitama out by taking out Sonic, and we should find a way to calm Bakugo down."
"Seems like the only solution for now," said Deku, "Alright, stand back." With one hand outstretched and the other gripping his wrist, he flicked with the strength of One For All. The smoke cleared out in an instant.
Uraraka slowly floated down and pressed her fingers together before running up towards Deku and Kirishima. "Get ready, guys," she said with determination, ready to deploy her Gunhead martial arts at any given notice. But as the smoke cleared up, the trio saw that the fight had already ended.
Sonic was currently laying on the ground unconscious, a sizeable dent in his jaw and blood slowly coursing down from his head. Bakugo was squirming and shouting at Saitama, who held him by the back of his costume.
"LET GO OF ME, EXTRA!!!," Bakugo yelled, his eyes flaming with fury, "I COULD CREAM YOU IN YOUR SLEEP!!!" He then proceeded to let loose a series of punches and explosive charges at Saitama's face, but they only covered his face with minor dark smudges.
"Geez, kid. Relax. Fine, I'll let you go."
He then dropped Bakugo back on the ground, who then tried to send a kick at Saitama. He easily blocked the attack, and feinted a jab at Bakugo's chest, causing the air to speed by his face. At this, Bakugo froze in place.
"Don't make me put you on time out," said Saitama, before striding back to the other three.
Bakugo soon regained his composure, doing his best to shrug off his temporary loss. "I'll get you next time," said Bakugo to himself, before picking up Sonic and hoisting his limp body up onto his shoulder.
"Sorry about that," said Saitama to the group, "He pops up at the worst times."
"You seemed to handle it just fine," said Deku, "That was incredible! How is your reaction time so fast?"
"Just comes with the training, I guess," he replied.
"Hey, nerds. What are we doing with this extra?" Bakugo asked gruffly, tossing the body on the ground, which elicited a light groan from Sonic.
Saitama scratched his chin in thought, before he turned towards Kirishima. "You said a portal spawned in your room, right?"
"Yeah, why?"
A small, devious grin began to form on his face as he said, "I might have an idea."
As the group stood outside of Kirishima's room, Saitama tossed the still unconscious body of Speed O' Sound Sonic into the portal in Kirishima's room. He was quickly sucked in with a quiet slurp. "Done and done," said Saitama, as he brushed his hands against each other, "Now I just need a new cape."
"Was that really necessary?" asked Uraraka, "We don't even know where it goes."
"Eh, best not to worry about it," replied Saitama, "Hopefully it's sunny where he's at. He could use a good tan. Actually, most of you could."
"Watch your mouth, Chrome Dome," spat Bakugo. He then walked up to Deku and said, "Ok, Deku, you have some explaining to do, like always! What's going on?!"
"Calm down, Kacchan," Deku said, referring to Bakugo by his childhood nickname, "We don't know everything that's going on. All we know is that portals are appearing, sending people from Saitama's world into our own. We think the same case could be happening to other people here as well. We still have no idea where our classmates are, and the police and some of the pro heroes aren't showing up either."
Bakugo groaned and said, "As always, you keep disconnecting from reality, Deku. The rest of the class went out for lunch together after they did their patrols."
Deku and Uraraka looked at each other, their eyes widening at this new information. "Do you know where they went?" asked Uraraka, desperate to find other heroes to aid them.
"Some lame, new Mexican food joint that opened up somewhere downtown. Three Amigos Cafe, I think."
Saitama walked up to Bakugo and asked, "Mexican food, you say?"
"Yeah. Not like I wanted to go though. I've got better things to do with my time than getting diarrhea from sub-par burritos."
Saitama looked at the rest of the group, who looked back expectantly at him. "I've got a bad feeling about this," he said.
Hey, y'all. Here's another chapter for you. I never seem to put these chapters out when I say I will, now don't I. Oh well.
Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. It feels a tad bit short to me, but the next chapter should be quite a bit lengthy-er than my last few.
Hope you guys have enjoyed the story so far. See you next time.
