As the war rage on, Jaune continued to watch over everyone.

From time to time, Jaune would contact Scáthach to ask how things are going on her end.

As predicted, Salem did send a Monstra to Vale, but it was easily taken down by Scáthach. And all lesser Grimm that was spawned by the Monstra was killed by Sylvia. Teamwork for the win.

Scáthach was a bit peeved that she was only given a single Monstra to kill. She wanted to continue to fight, but alas, she understood what Jaune wanted, and she couldn't go to Vacuo to kill more Grimm as that would lessen the strength that the others could gain.

Scáthach thought about the Pill of Gluttony. She asked Jaune to eat one and kill her. She was immortal, so it didn't harm her in any way.

What was the purpose of this? It was to find out if the pill will be able to absorb her powers, but it failed.

Jaune theorised that it was due her not truly dying. He believes that the pill absorbs the very essence of the being into the one that consumed the pills, but if one is immortal, then in essence, they aren't killed, therefore their essence could not be absorbed.

Jaune thought it was a shame since Salem could have been a hack for the others, but alas, it was not meant to be.

At the current moment, Jaune was staring at Salem. She decided to show herself.

Ozma was fighting Grimm, nowhere was he near Jaune.

Salem looked at Jaune with a piercing glare.

If looks could kill, Jaune would be dead…Not!

Jaune didn't even bother to entertain Salem. It was not arrogance; it was because he already knew what would happen.

Having Scáthach as a wife, she made Jaune learn a few skills such as Clairvoyance and Eternal Arms Mastery. It was quite hilarious for Jaune to learn Eternal Arms Mastery, after all, there isn't a single mental attack that can pierce through [Impenetrable Mind – God] making the skill moot. Then again, he was taught the skill before he got [Impenetrable Mind – God].

As Salem went for the attack, Jaune continued to stand in place with his arms crossed, no indication of him moving away.

When Salem's hand was only an inch away from his face, she was struck by a hammer in the head.

"Here's Nora!" shouted Nora. She was having fun with her newfound abilities. She then raised her hammer in the air and summoned lightning. "Have a taste of this!".

Nora powered up as she absorbed the lightning. However, unlike with her usual semblance, her limit was unlike she has ever gone. She leaped into the air and slammed her hammer where Salem landed.

A burst of lightning happened and every Grimm within a hundred meters were killed and strengthened Nora.

As for Salem, she was having a hard time understanding what happened. She was a mere inch away from killing the man she believes is the cause of her situation, but she then felt a massive pain in her head. Immortal as she is, she still feels pain. She couldn't even see the person that attacked her before being hit again and being flattened like a pancake and electrocuted.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha! This magic thing is awesome! My semblance before wouldn't have allowed me to have so much power!" shouted Nora. She could feel the power flowing within her. And unlike before, she could produce the lightning in abundance.

Jaune stared at Nora, smiling. It hasn't been long, and she was already able to control her magic to a certain extent. He could tell that she was using magic in tandem with her semblance to gain a level of control over it.

"Hmm…? I didn't think that you would have a bit of control over your magic until later. Nice touch by the way, using your semblance as a way to gain some control over your new magic," said Jaune. He was impressed.

"Thanks! I didn't know if it would work, but it did! I was glad that I gave it a try," said Nora. She smiled at Jaune and went for another smash at Salem's face.

Unfortunately, Nora was then hit by a darkness magic. She was flung a hundred metres away.

"Now, that's interesting. How was she able to wield magic? That should have been impossible since the second generation of humanity was not gifted it by the Gods," said Salem. She was interested in how they acquire said magic. And looking at Jaune, she knew it had something to do with him.

"I assume that you were responsible for this new development?" asked Salem. She didn't know why she asked, but she had a feeling the man would answer her.

"Indeed I am. So? Tell me how it feels to have your face get bashed and electrocuted at the same time?" said Jaune. He looked at Salem with eyes that told her that she was never a threat to him.

"You don't see me as a threat in the least bit, do you?" asked Salem. As she spoke, she was looking for any possible weakness the man in front of her might have. Alas, she found none.

"Delaying tactics? I like it, but unfortunately for you, no matter how hard you try to look for a weakness, you'd fail. I am not like many of the people on Remnant," said Jaune. He knew what Salem was doing the moment she thought it.

"It matters not. I may not be able to find a weakness to exploit, but there is nothing you can do stop me. I am immortal," said Salem. Her immortality may be a curse, but she can use it to her own advantage.

Jaune sighed and looked at JNPR-II, who came after Nora smashed Salem's head.

"I need you all to stand back. You killing her repeatedly would do you no good. There is no benefit to doing so. I suggest you go and kill more Grimm; you need all the strength you could get," said Jaune.

After speaking, Jaune saw JNPR-II nod at him before leaving to kill more Grimm.

"Now that we are along, shall we dance?" asked Jaune. He was confident that Salem was not going to be able to bring him harm. For many reasons. One, Jaune has the Armour of Fafnir. Two, he has Avalon integrated in his soul. Three, he has the Robe of the Sage, which he is currently wearing. Salem stood no chance even if he did have them.

Salem growled at Jaune, who simply gave a smirk.

Salem fired countless amount of magic bolts at Jaune, but they were ineffective.

"Impossible! How is my magic not doing anything against you?!" asked Salem in anger. She has never felt so small against someone.

"Simple, really. Your magic is not strong enough to bypass my Robe of the Sage. The armour was mean to protect against Gods, something you are not," said Jaune.

When Salem heard what Jaune said, she was horrified. An item that was meant to protect against Gods? That can't be. He must be bluffing.

"Hmph! I call your bluff! There is no such thing on Remnant," said Salem. She was one of the oldest people on Remnant. If there was such item, surely she would have heard of it and used it against the Gods when she tricked the people to attack the brothers.

"You assume Remnant is the only world. But I assure you it isn't the case. I should know. I have travel to many different world as I please," said Jaune.

Salem was stupefied at Jaune's revelation. She then laughed.

"I see what you're doing. You are stalling time as I did earlier to search for an advantage, but that will get you nowhere, boy!" said Salem. She snickered at his attempt.

Jaune raised an eyebrow.

"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I need to stall time? I could kill you if I wanted. What I said is merely the truth," said Jaune. Is Salem crazy? Him? Search for her weakness? He didn't need to. He already has the weapon to kill. That's her weakness.

Salem scuffed at Jaune's statement.
