"If Kairi's heart is inside me, then all I need to do is unlock it."

Riku's heart, unseen, watched silently as Sora gave his two companions a confident smile over his shoulder, before raising the keyblade and plunging it into his chest.

The look that overcame his face would stay in Riku's memory for the rest of his life. Dark lashes fluttering closed, mouth opening just a little, just wide enough to whisper something quietly that no one heard. Eyebrows slanting backwards just so his face became pained.

Riku's heart hurt when he watched Sora desecrate himself. Would Sora ever do that for him? Sacrifice something so precious just to save his already half-dead heart? Sora seemed to do it for her without a second thought.

Did he care about Riku that much?

Hell, he'd even settle for half as much of Sora's love.

Did he even think about him?

Axel didn't have a heart. None of them did, that was the existence of a Nobody. But when Roxas left, without a second thought, it still made Axel frown with pain. He didn't feel hurt physically, but something hurt, nonetheless.

And Roxas left. Without a second thought.

Did he even think about him?

Hell, he'd even settle for half of Roxas's thoughts.

Just to know he knew.

Roxas didn't feel guilty about leaving Axel behind to find Sora. Why would he? Axel wouldn't care, he didn't have a heart. He would make a new 'best friend'. Demyx, maybe, well, maybe. If he was desperate enough.

Somehow Roxas didn't think he was. He didn't feel guilty, no remorse, or sad, or angry.

But, for some reason, when he saw the look on Axel's face, he felt like a Keyblade was being driven through his chest.
