Day 3 - One Night Only

A/N: In order to keep a little mystery, the full prompt from FanFiction User RJRMovieFan will be listed at the end of the story. Enjoy!

Late September in Tampa was hot and muggy, and Chloe wondered, not for the first time, why she had thought it was a good idea to accept a teaching position close to her parents. She entered her apartment and dropped her keys on the table. She set her bag on the floor and flipped through her mail as she toed off her shoes and left them by the door.

"Bill, bill, bill," Chloe mumbled, sighing as she looked at each envelope. "I need a drink."

Chloe walked to the kitchen, dropping her mail on the coffee table as she passed by. She poured herself a glass of iced tea. As she took a sip, her phone rang.

Chloe pulled her phone out and smiled as she answered.

"Hey, Brey," Chloe said.

"Hey, Chloe," Aubrey said. "I've got some big news."

"What is it?" Chloe asked with enthusiasm.

"I'm planning a Bellas reunion," Aubrey replied. "And we'll be spending Christmas and New Year's in New York! Isn't that exciting?"

"It sounds very exciting," Chloe said. "But, won't it be expensive to go to New York at Christmastime?"

"Chloe, it's been five years since we won the ICCAs," Aubrey said. "And two since we've seen everyone in person. Besides, my parents have agreed to help cover all our costs for the trip. Airfare, lodging, tickets to a holiday show or two."

"Wow," Chloe said. "That's very generous of them. How did you manage that?"

"They're going on a cruise for Christmas, and my brother and I are not invited," Aubrey said. "So, they were going to give us both a guilt gift of an indecent amount of cash so we could go wherever we want to celebrate Christmas. I asked that, instead of giving me cash, they help with the cost of getting the Bellas together in person for the first time in two years. They agreed, and here we are."

"It will be nice to see all the girls again," Chloe said, trying to mentally calculate how much the trip would cost her.

"Before you say no," Aubrey interrupted. "You'll be on Christmas break, so you can't use work as an excuse not to come."

"Okay," Chloe said. "I'll have to do some creative budgeting, but I think I can swing it."

"You only need to save enough money for incidentals," Aubrey said. "As I said, everything will be covered. You can have your own room if you want. Or we can be roommates again!"

"That will make things a lot easier for me," Chloe said as relief washed over her.

"Good, because I already put you down as a yes," Aubrey said. "I've also received yeses from everyone except Cynthia Rose. She's in the Air Force and will have to submit a request for leave. Hopefully, it will be approved; she's supposed to let me know as soon as she knows."

"Were you able to find Beca?" Chloe asked softly.

"Why would I even look for her?" Aubrey huffed. "She walked away from us and never looked back."

"She walked away because you said she wasn't a Bella," Chloe retorted. "You seem to forget it was because of Beca that we got into the finals."

"The other team had a High School kid as their soloist and were disqualified," Aubrey said. "That's why we got into the finals. I wish you'd get over this obsession you have with that, that-."

"That, what?" Chloe asked, her voice rising.

'Never mind," Aubrey said. "I don't want to talk about her or argue with you about her."

Chloe heard Aubrey sigh through the phone.

"I'm going to try and coordinate everything so that those of us flying in can arrive on the same day at around the same time. I'll email you with your info once I get the itineraries together, okay?"

"That's fine," Chloe said. "I have to go. Bye, Brey."

Chloe ended the call and dropped her phone on the counter. She hated that every time she brought up Beca's name, Aubrey would dismiss it like Beca meant nothing to her. Chloe ran a hand through her hair and sighed.

"I wish she'd understand how much Beca still means to me," Chloe mumbled.

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

Later that night, while lying in bed, Chloe couldn't help thinking about Beca and the last time she saw her.

"I told you she wasn't a Bella," Aubrey said, glaring at Beca.

"Brey, don't," Chloe implored.

"No," Beca said, looking at Chloe. "You don't have to pretend like you get to have a say in the group."

Aubrey scoffed; Chloe's feelings were hurt, and the rest of the Bellas didn't know what to do.

"If this is what I get for trying," Beca said, then turned and walked away.

Chloe sighed and turned on her side. She had tried to call and text Beca after that, but Beca never responded.

When she saw that Aubrey did not include Beca in the text sent to notify the Bellas that they were going to the ICCA Finals, Chloe forwarded it to Beca, asking, no, begging her to come to the rehearsal. Again, Beca did not respond, nor did she show up to rehearsal.

After the debacle of the first rehearsal, Chloe took the USB with a bunch of mixes Beca had put together to the next rehearsal and asked Aubrey to listen to it. Beca had given it to her the week before Beca left; Chloe thought it best not to tell Aubrey it was Beca's work, so she didn't.

The rest of the Bellas were excited to try something new and pushed Aubrey to give Chloe's set list a chance. With the threat of a full mutiny on her hands, Aubrey had no choice but to listen.

Aubrey and the girls loved it; Aubrey had to admit that Chloe had come up with a great set that showcased all the girls' talents. Chloe did not correct the assumption that she was responsible for creating the setlist.

The Bellas won the ICCAs, and, to this day, Chloe had never told anyone that the set was something Beca had created.

Chloe rolled over onto her back.

"I wish I had gone after Beca and told her how much she meant to me," Chloe whispered into the darkness of her empty bedroom, wiping a tear from her eye. "And maybe she'd be here with me now."

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

Chloe spent the next three months counting down the days until her trip to New York. She also spent most of those days thinking about Beca Mitchell and what had become of her. Beca's departure left Chloe with so many questions.

Had Beca gone to L.A. as she had often mentioned wanting to do?

Did Beca ever think about Chloe or her time at Barden?

Or did Beca walk away and forget about all of them? Including Chloe?

It was finally the day she was to leave for New York. Chloe was all smiles as she zipped her carry-on bag and lifted it off the bed. She was excited to see her Bella sisters and practically floated to the front door of her apartment with her bags in tow.

She walked out of her apartment, ensuring that both locks were secure before making her way to the elevator.

The flight to New York was uneventful. And once the plane landed, Chloe waited until the aisle was clear before standing and grabbing her carry-on bag. She exited the plane and followed the crowd to the baggage area to retrieve her larger suitcase.

Chloe looked around as she stepped off the escalator. She looked to her right and saw Aubrey and Stacie. Chloe was all smiles as she walked over to them.

"Brey!" Chloe said, pulling her into a hug. "It's good to see you!"

"It's good to see you, too, Chloe," Aubrey said.

Stacie waited until Aubrey and Chloe let go of each other and pulled Chloe into a hug.

"Looking good, Beale," Stacie said, looking Chloe up and down as she pulled out of the hug.

"Thanks, Stacie," Chloe said. "You're not looking so bad yourself."

"Let's get your bags," Aubrey said. "Cynthia Rose and Denise should be landing soon."

"What about Fat Amy, Jessica, and Ashley?" Chloe asked.

"Fat Amy was flying in last night," Aubrey said. "And Jessica and Ashley are driving up from Pennsylvania together. They should all be at the hotel when we get there."

"And, what about Lily?" Chloe asked as they waited for her bag.

"She lives here in New York and is staying at the hotel with us," Aubrey said. "She texted earlier that she was there."

Not too long after Chloe had retrieved her luggage, Cynthia Rose and Denise found them. After more greetings and hugs, they followed Aubrey to the van she had rented for their stay. Chloe smiled and sat back, listening as Cynthia Rose and Denise talked of their upcoming wedding. She laughed with the others when Stacie regaled them with the story of the Hunter's most recent conquest, which involved her joining the Mile High Club earlier that day.

It wasn't long after that they arrived at their hotel.

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

After Chloe finished unpacking, she went down to the lobby to wait for the girls. She saw Jessica and Ashley already waiting. As she walked over to them, she noticed they were looking at the itinerary Aubrey had left for them.

"I can't wait to see this," Ashley said, pointing at the itinerary in Jessica's hand.

"Can't wait to see what?" Chloe asked as she sat down.

"DJ Titanium Blue," Ashley said.

"What do you know about DJ Titanium Blue, Chloe?" Jessica asked.

"I'm excited to see them," Ashley said.

"I've only read about them," Chloe said. "They're really big on the West Coast."

"I've heard some of their music and think it's great, so it should be a good show," Jessica said. "I love the air of mystery about them."

"Yeah," Ashley said. "They always wear a mask, and so far, no one has been able to discover who they are. Most people have guessed they're a woman because of their body, but no one has come out to confirm or deny whether that's true."

"I'm looking forward to seeing them," Chloe said.

"Excuse me," a woman interrupted. "Are you Chloe Beale?"

"I am," Chloe said.

"This is for you," the woman said, handing Chloe a folded note.

"Thank you," Chloe said as the woman walked away.

"Hey, girls," Stacie said. "Who was that?"

"I don't know," Chloe said. "She just handed me this note and left."

"Who's it from?" Ashley asked.

"Let's go, ladies," Aubrey called out as she and the remaining Bellas hurried toward the hotel exit. "We're going to be late for our reservation."

Chloe stuck the note in her purse without reading it and rushed after Aubrey.

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

The girls had ended the night in the hotel bar, and Chloe was drunk when she came back to her room. Sadly, being drunk did not stop her inner alarm clock from waking her at six the next morning.

Chloe groaned when she checked the time on her phone.

"I need coffee," Chloe mumbled as she reached for the day's itinerary. "Breakfast isn't scheduled until nine; I can't wait that long."

Chloe showered and dressed. She grabbed her small backpack and started transferring the things she needed for the day from her purse.

"I forgot about this," Chloe mumbled as she pulled out the note from the night before.

She unfolded the note and read it. There had been a signature, but something wet had made it unreadable; Chloe wasn't sure how that happened.

Chloe shrugged as she read the note one more time, saw it was almost seven, and thought, "why not?" So, she grabbed her coat and left her room.

Chloe entered the coffee shop and looked around to see if she saw anyone she recognized.

"Hey, Chloe," a voice Chloe recognized said from behind her.

"Beca?"

Chloe turned around and saw a very nervous-looking Beca Mitchell standing there.

"Oh, my God!" Chloe squealed, grabbing Beca to her. "Beca!"

"Hey," Beca said, wrapping her arms around Chloe.

Chloe pulled back from Beca and smiled.

"What are you doing here?" Chloe asked.

"You act as if you didn't know I was going to be here," Beca said. "I know you got my note."

"I did," Chloe said, chuckling. "Only when I finally read it, your signature had somehow gotten wet and was unreadable."

"You didn't know who you were meeting?" Beca said, chuckling. "And yet you came anyway. That is so you."

"Well, I'm glad I came," Chloe said. "Or I wouldn't have had the chance to see you. Or talk to you, and we definitely need to talk. But I need coffee for that, so let's grab a table."

"Okay," Beca said, following Chloe.

Two hours later, after the two filled the other in on what they had been up to for the past five years, Beca made a small confession.

"I have a confession to make," Beca said. "I had a huge crush on you back then. I may have even fallen in love with you a bit."

"What?!" Chloe said, chuckling. "I had a huge crush on you, too. And I'm not just saying that because you said it."

"I have something else to admit," Beca said, only to be interrupted when Chloe's phone pinged with a text notification.

"Hold that thought," Chloe said, holding her finger to stop Beca.

Beca sat back with a small smile and watched Chloe.

"Oh, shoot, I have to go," Chloe said after reading the text. "I'm supposed to be at breakfast with the girls." Chloe's face lit up with excitement as she exclaimed, "You should come with me! I'm sure the girls would love to see you."

"I doubt that's true," Beca mumbled.

"Why wouldn't it be true?" Chloe asked.

"I'm pretty sure Posen wants to kill me," Beca said.

"No, she doesn't," Chloe said.

"I say we'll have to agree to disagree on that," Beca said. "I would love to continue this, especially the part about your crush on me." Chloe scoffed but smiled at Beca. "Would you want to meet up again? I have an event I can't get out of tonight, and it will be really late when I'm done. If you're up for it, maybe we can have drinks or something after? I would really love to see you again."

"We're attending a concert tonight, and it will also be late when it's over," Chloe said, chewing on her lip before adding, "I'd love to meet you after."

"Great," Beca said, smiling "It's a date."

They gathered their belongings and walked over to the hotel together. To Choe's surprise, Beca hugged her and then went toward the elevators. Chloe watched her leave before going into the hotel's restaurant to meet the Bellas.

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

Later that night, after a quick dinner in the hotel's restaurant, the Bellas made their way to the large ballroom for the concert. Chloe stared at the sign announcing DJ Titanium Blue in concert for One Night Only.

"What made you get us in to see this show?" Chloe asked Aubrey as they waited to enter.

"I heard that DJ Titanium Blue does some acapella as part of their set," Aubrey said, looking around to make sure no one else was paying attention to them. "And the DJ will sometimes pull people from the audience to be a part of the show. And my mother knows someone who knows someone who works with them. She may or may not have reached out to see if the Bellas can be in the show."

"We're going to be in the show?" Fat Amy asked.

"I don't know," Aubrey replied honestly. "We could be, but there is no guarantee that we will be."

"This is so exciting," Jessica gushed.

"It would be nice if we get picked," Chloe said, trying to contain her excitement. "It's been a while since we sang together."

Everyone started talking at once, only quieting when they reached the front of the line. Aubrey gave her name, and they were led to a table near the stage.

The girls sat and looked around. The room was set up with large tables scattered about; each table sat at least 10 people. The seats and tables were close to each other but not so close that you felt as if you were sitting on top of each other. There were easily 250 seats in total, and every seat had a great view of the stage.

A waitress came around, and they ordered drinks. A few minutes later, the room's lights went out, and spotlights swept back and forth across the stage. This went on for a few seconds before the spotlights became one light shining toward the back of the stage where "smoke" billowed about. Suddenly, drums started playing a steady beat, and DJ Titanium Blue rose out of the smoke to stand on a riser under the spotlight, their arms raised as if in triumph.

The crowd cheered when the DJ came into sight. And it was quite a sight as the DJ was dressed all in blue. A dark blue leather jacket and blue skinny jeans with combat boots that matched the jacket in color. But the most impressive piece of blue they wore was their mask. It covered their head and their face and was a bright sky blue with dark blue lips painted on.

The DJ lowered her arms, and the audience quieted.

"That was quite an entrance," Jessica said.

"Shh," Ashley said as DJ Titanium Blue started to speak.

"Good evening, everyone," a robotic voice came over the speakers. "I am DJ Titanium Blue, and I want to thank you all for being here for my One Night Only performance." The crowd cheered. "Many of you don't know this, but you are about to witness my final performance as DJ Titanium Blue."

A few boos and nos were shouted from the audience.

DJ Titanium Blue shook their head and said, "I know, I know. But I've been doing this for almost five years, and it is time for me to move on to other things. That being said, I am happy to report that I signed with a record company and will be putting out my first solo album after the New Year."

The crowd started cheering, and a few 'we love yous' were shouted.

"I love you, too," DJ Titanium Blue said, chuckling. "And, since it's Christmas, I have a few surprises for you."

More cheers and screams. DJ Titanium Blue brings her arms up and quiets the audience.

"As I'm sure many of you are aware, I have a segment of my show where I do an acapella set. Tonight, I'm going to start off with that because in our audience are the members of the 2015 National collegiate acapella championship team, the Barden Bellas, and I'm hoping we can convince them to join me on stage and perform for you."

The Bellas all gasp, and the audience starts cheering.

"Bellas, Bellas, Bellas," DJ Titanium Blue chants, causing the audience to pick it up and start chanting as well.

The Bellas stand, and a guy rushes over to them.

"Bellas, follow me, please," the guy said.

"Come on, girls," Aubrey said, smiling. "It looks like we do get to sing."

The girls follow the young man to the stage. Once the Bellas are onstage, they are each handed a microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen," DJ Titanium Blue says. "Give it up for the 2012 National Collegiate Acapella Champions, the Barden Bellllaaaasssss!"

The crowd cheers, and the girls smile and look around as DJ Titanium Blue walks over to them. The DJ stops in front of the Bellas and turns to look out over the audience.

"Are you ready to be amazed?" the DJ screams out to the audience.

"What are we going to sing?" Aubrey asked from behind the DJ.

"I think you'll know it when you hear it," the DJ tells her and starts making a beat with their mouth.

The Bellas were shocked as they recognize the song; it was the first song from their winning ICCAs Finals set. They can't help but wonder how the DJ knew how the set started. They don't ponder for long and go into full Bellas performance mode and join the DJ in "making music with their mouths."

DJ Titanium Blue sings and dances with the girls and doesn't miss a step or a beat.

The crowd yells and cheers. A few whistles can be heard. The Bellas are working it as if they are trying to win the ICCAs again.

When the set ends, the crowd erupts and gives them a standing ovation. When the crowd quiets down, DJ Titanium Blue looks at the Bellas and, waving a hand at them, says, "Take a bow, ladies."

They do, and the crowd goes wild again.

"That was amazing, wasn't it?" DJ Titanium Blue says to more cheering and applause.

DJ Titanium Blue gets the audience to quiet down again and looks out at them.

"I know the Bellas are surprised to be up here," DJ Titanium Blue said. "But I have an even bigger surprise for them. And for you."

Everyone cheers, and the Bellas look around with furrowed brows. They have no idea what is going to happen next.

"Don't go away, I'll be right back," DJ Titanium Blue said as she walked to the side of the darkened stage, out of the spotlight and out of sight of the Bellas.

"Over the years, there has been a lot of speculation over who I am," DJ Titanium Blue's voice came through the speakers. "Well, tonight, you're going to find out."

"We love you, DJ!" a lone voice calls out as the crowd erupted in more applause and cheers.

"Are you ready?" DJ Titanium Blue asked.

A sudden hush falls over the crowd as people crane their necks to see DJ Titanium Blue. There is an audible gasp from the Bellas when DJ Titanium Blue steps back onto the stage, sans their mask and leather jacket and holding a microphone.

"Beca?" a few of the Bellas say as they all stare at the former Bella.

"Oh, my God," Aubrey said as she dropped her microphone.

The feedback when the mic hit the floor caused many to wince, including Beca, who looked over at her with a smirk. Beca turns to face the audience.

"Hi, everyone, I'm Beca Mitchell," Beca said, with a small wave at the crowd. "Formerly known as DJ Titanium Blue."

The crowd erupts in cheers again. Chloe breaks from the Bellas and rushes over to Beca, pulling her into a hug. Aubrey and the other Bellas rush over and join the hug.

"I love you," Chloe said, but Beca can't hear her over the yells and whistles of the crowd.

The girls pull back from the hug and look at Beca.

"Can you guys wait for me to finish, and we can talk?" Beca asked.

"Yes," Chloe says immediately, as the others nod in agreement.

"Thanks," Beca said as the girls made their way off the stage and back to their table.

Beca looks out over the audience again.

"You all have been amazing," Beca said. "I hope you enjoy the rest of the concert as I sing a few songs from my upcoming album. I call it Beca Mitchell - Unmasked."

The crowd cheers as Beca goes to the center of the stage. Her band comes out and takes their places. Beca starts and gives the crowd an hour of music and banter. Her first solo concert is quite a success.

~~ 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2022 ~~

After the concert, Beca invited the Bellas to her suite for drinks. They agree and are sitting around Beca's suite.

"So, after you left Barden, you became DJ Titanium Blue?" Fat Amy said, waving around her drink.

"Sort of," Beca said. "I went to L.A. and tried to get a producer position but had no luck. I needed money, so I started DJing. One night, a man came up to me and asked if I wanted to make more money. Of course, I said yes. The next thing I know, DJ Titanium Blue was playing all the best clubs on the West Coast. I came East a few times to play, but my heart was in L.A."

"How did you keep your identity a secret for so long?" Ashley asked.

"There were only three people who knew who I really was," Beca said. "The outfit my manager had made for me had people guessing whether I was a man or a woman." Beca chuckled as she got up for another drink. "It was fun to read what people said about why they thought I was a man. Or a woman."

"I saw a snippet of you doing your DJ Titanium Blue thing on TMZ," Stacie said. "I knew right away you were a woman. I mean, what man has an ass like that?" Stacie waved over at Beca's backside; Beca blushed and quickly turned to face the girls. "And boobs like that?"

Beca blushed again and crossed her arms over her chest as everyone laughed.

"Leave her alone, Stacie," Chloe said. "I think she looks sexy as DJ Titanium Blue. And, even sexier as Beca Mitchell."

"Of course you do," Jessica said as everyone snickered.

"In all seriousness," Beca said. "I owe you all an apology. I should never have just walked away. It's just." Beca ran a hand through her hair. "I was hurt when Aubrey said I wasn't a Bella."

"You will always be a Bella to us," Chloe said, wrapping an arm around Beca's shoulders.

"I'm sorry," Aubrey said. "I should never have said that. I was just angry because I thought our chances of winning the ICCAs were over. It was so much easier to blame you than to come to terms with the fact that I wasn't a very good leader and our set list sucked."

"There is no one person to blame," Denise said. "Beca tried to get you to change things up, but we didn't have her back. We all should have said something. If we had, maybe we could have made the changes like we did when Chloe gave us that set list she put together."

Beca's head snapped up, and she looked at Chloe. Chloe shrugged and smiled.

"Actually," Chloe said. "I didn't make up that set list, Beca did. I just let you think I did."

"Why would you do that?" Aubrey asked.

"Because I knew if you knew that Beca had made it, you would never have listened to it," Chloe said. "And we really needed you to listen to it with an open mind."

"Wow," was all Aubrey could think to say.

Beca cleared her throat and said, "So, um, I'd like to propose a toast."

Beca raised her glass and looked around the room. The girls raised their glasses as well.

"To reconnecting," Beca said. "And being friends again."

"Hear, hear," the Bellas call out as they drank.

"I can't believe it's almost three," CR said, yawning. "It's been quite the night."

"We should probably get going," Aubrey said, standing. "We have reservations for a Christmas brunch at eleven." She turned to Beca. "You should join us, Beca. It truly will be a Bellas reunion now that we are all back together."

"I'd love to," Beca said, grinning. "Thank you."

"Great," Aubrey said. "We'll be meeting in the lobby at ten. See you then."

"Goodnight, Beca," the girls said as they followed Aubrey to the door.

"Um," Chloe said as Aubrey opened the door. "I'm going to stay for just a bit to talk to Beca."

"Talk?" Stacie said, snickering. "Is that what you're calling it now?"

Beca blushed, and Chloe chuckled.

"We'll see you girls in the morning," Chloe said as they left.

After the last Bella exited, Chloe closed the door and locked it. Beca looked at her with raised eyebrows.

"Merry Christmas, Beca," Chloe said, pulling Beca into a heated kiss.

Beca returned the kiss with as much fervor as Chloe. The kiss ended when breathing became an issue.

"Merry Christmas, indeed," Beca said, pushing Chloe up against the door and crashing their lips together in another equally heated kiss.

Full prompt from RJRMovieFan: Beca left Barden during her Freshman year after the blowup at the semifinals. She becomes a world-famous DeeJay but keeps her identity a mystery. Chloe is heartbroken Beca left but uses a USB stick Beca had given her to convince Aubrey to change their set for the finals, and the Bellas win. Five years later, the Bellas reunite for a reunion of their win, and Chloe runs into Beca at the resort the Bellas are staying at. Beca is there for a Holiday performance. [I changed it up just a bit, but I think I hit on everything you asked for.]
