A/N: Hi, everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Again, I want to thank everyone for all your support with Who You Are. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.
On to the next though!
Here is the preview for my next fic which will be the sequel to Altered/Reality. If you haven't read that one yet, I suggest popping on over there and giving it a read or you might be a tad bit confused by what's going on in this story. Some of you may notice that it's the same title as the project JDF and Bat In The Sun are working on. That's because I am basing my idea off of that trailer he put out for the original concept that I believe has been changed since. I'm hoping to have this one coming rolling out in the beginning of next month, depending on how my class is going at that point. Until then, here is a preview! Let me know what you guys think. :)
Summary: It's been five years since Drakkon and the Ranger Slayer led an attack on Angel Grove. It's been an on-going war since, leaving Earth in both timelines in a shattered war zone. The Power Rangers are leading the defense against him, hoping to stop him from taking over their world and to free the one he controls already. Drakkon left behind the Ranger Slayer, her now useless to him with the spell broken. Now, she's trying to figure out what her place in both worlds really is and how she can repay all the damage she caused. With their powers dwindling though, the Rangers will need to rely on Tommy Oliver, who has been on the run since the Battle of Angel Grove happened. He knows that Kimberly is alive somewhere and he's not willing to stop until he finds her.
Drakkon has been building his army, leading the attack against the Power Rangers and those who dare stand in his way. When he brought Kimberly to his world, he had planned on making her his new Ranger Slayer but this changed when he discovered she was pregnant. With the belief that Tommy was killed the day of the battle, Kimberly has no choice but to stand by and wait her time to attempt to escape. She knows that Drakkon's powers are beginning to falter and he is desperate to find any means necessary to ensure he wins this fight. Even if that means using her daughter as collateral.
Everything changes when there is a new power discovered, something that both sides need to win. Now, it's a race against time to obtain it before it's too late.
The war rages on as the Power Rangers take on Lord Drakkon in Altered/Reality: Legend of the White Dragon.
Coming February 2021!

Tommy
"Are we sure this mission is even going to be safe?" Trini asked, looking over at Jason who was peering up at Zordon. Just from the look on both of their faces, I already knew the answer to that question.
"Do we have any other options at this point?" Jason asked. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "You heard what the others said. If we don't retrieve the rest of the crystals, there is no telling what will happen with the rest of our powers."
"Jason's correct." Billy said, adjusting his glasses. The reflection of the control panel flashed in the cracked lens. "There's no indication when the remaining amount of power will fail. Our connection to the morphing grid is fragile as it is. Tommy is the only one with access to it using his crystal. We will need to utilize these other crystals in order to defeat Drakkon and his defenses."
"I'll go." I said, firmly. It made the most sense. I knew that I still needed to refine my new powers but at least I could morph and have some abilities in this unknown plain. Everyone else would be at risk to not only the elements but also whatever or whoever else was there, guarding the crystals. I would do whatever it took to make sure we had what we needed to bring Kimberly home in one piece. "I'm the one with the crystal and the one who can morph."
"You're not the only one." Trini said, her gaze moving over to the Ranger Slayer who was standing in the back of our group. Everyone else turned to look at her as she crossed her arms.
"I always love an adventure." She said. I shook my head.
"I don't need her to go with me." I said. "She can stay here."
"Tommy, we have no clue what this mission will be like. You can't go running in, alone, and have cocked without someone there to have your six." Jason said.
"And having someone there that I can't trust is going to help me?" I asked, glaring over at the Ranger Slayer. "I'd rather go alone and risk my life that way."
"This isn't up for debate, Tommy." Zordon said. "Jason is correct. You will need to have another person with you to retrieve the crystals."
"Besides, she'll be the one who will need to utilize the pink crystal." Billy said and I could see the regret on his features before he even got the sentence out.
"What?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "That stone is for Kimberly. It's hers."
"We know, Tommy." Jason said. "But she's not here right now and it's not going to be any use to her if we can't get the power to save her. You heard what we have to do. If we don't have all those crystals, the powers are useless. We need her to complete this mission. There's no time to find a replacement and to train them." I looked over at the Ranger Slayer who looked a bit hesitant as well. I could tell she had some reservations, something she should have. I had made a promise to kill her just days ago. I had every intention of fulfilling that promise as well, making her pay for what had happened to no only Kimberly but also everyone else on Earth who was suffering. If she had never came here to our world, we wouldn't be having to do any of this and Kimberly would be here.
"You're going to have to work together." Trini said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "It's okay, Tommy. She's on our side now."
"Sure, she is." I said, rolling my eyes. I shifted and looked up at Zordon. "How long do we have, Zordon?"
"Not long, Tommy. You will only have 24 hours to locate and to obtain the crystals once you arrive. If you are unable to return to the edge of the realm, you'll be trapped there for the rest of eternity."
"Terrific." I muttered, crossing my arms. "When do we go?"
"I can have the transmitters ready within the hour." Billy said, typing into the control panel with purpose. Trini walked over, joining him. I turned and stepped closer to the Ranger Slayer.
"I'm not stupid." I said in a low voice. "Once we are in there, don't forget that I know exactly what you are capable of. This isn't some mission where we learn to appreciate each other. I have one goal in mind and that's to save Kimberly, the person who you put in grave danger just by showing up here. I'm not going to protect or save you once we are there. Got it?"
"No worries, Oliver." She said, adjusting her cape. "I think I can handle my own."
"Good because at this point, I'm willing to cut off any dead weight that's holding me back." I shifted, turning away from her.
"Tommy, you're Drakkon is showing." She called out to me as I walked out of the room.
Kimberly
"Leave us." Drakkon said, barely looking over his shoulder at Goldar. The general glared over at me before sulking out of the room, the sound of his heavy footsteps echoing off the stone walls as he went further into the castle. I heard Drakkon sigh before he pinched the bridge of his nose. He looked fatigued in this light, the bags under his eyes just heightened by the purple veins that ran up from his chin into his cheeks. For that brief moment, I could see the distant memory of Tommy Oliver in his features. I could see where the faded dimple in his cheek and where the warmth had been in his brown eyes. My chest hurt at the thought of Tommy and how this was the only way I could see his face any more.
"I don't want to hear it." I said, crossing my arms. "Save yourself the trouble."
"Kimberly, you haven't even given it time to process in your mind." He said, finally turning to look at me. He attempted a lazy smile as he stepped down from the ledge of the platform where his throne was. "I think that she will enjoy training."
"She's a little girl!" I exclaimed, narrowing my eyes towards him. "There is no reason she needs to learn how to defend herself or to fight when she's only five years old."
"You and I both know there is plenty of reason in this world we are living in now." He said.
"Yeah. In this world that you created." I hissed.
"That's neither here nor there." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "I just feel that our daughter deserves the right to be able to protect herself if the occasion calls for it."
"She isn't your daughter." I said. It was his time to glare at me, a twitch of anger in his eyes. I knew he wanted to lash out at me. I could read it all over his face. He didn't though. I could imagine he wanted to slap me or put me in his place. He never does though. After all this time of being locked in here as his prisoner, I was still amazed that he never lays a hand on me. I had heard horror stories of the things he did to the Ranger Slayer. Had they just been stories? He cleared his throat and shook his head.
"I am doing what's best for everyone involved. Our worlds could live in unity. This can only happen once the Rangers stand down. Until then, I will do what is best for my people and my family." I let out a laugh.
"Family? Do you even know what family means? A family is people that love you. I don't even think you are capable of loving another person besides yourself." I balled my fists. "You ripped me from the family I had when you brought me here."
"Enough with the dramatics, Kimberly." He said. "I brought you here and saved your life. Without me, you would only be a distant memory in your world. Besides, your so called family was always broken. Your father ran off before you even knew what a divorce was and your mother was too busy trying to find you a different step daddy each week to even notice you. Is that really the kind of family you want to raise your daughter around?"
"That wasn't the family I was talking about." I said. That sting of remembrance hit me as I thought of my friends. They were the ones back home, fighting the fight to try to beat Drakkon in our time. I had no idea who was winning and who was even still alive. That thought scared me to my core most nights. Was there a chance that they were all still alive and okay? I prayed they were and that they were the ones who had the upper hand. I could always tell when Drakkon wasn't though and this was not the Drakkon who was losing.
"You mean those pathetic people you called friends?" He asked, a smirk tugged on his lips. "You must be joking. How on Earth were they more of a family to you?" I knew he was mocking me. I could read it in his eyes. How could they be the same as Tommy's? His were always so warm and caring. These were cold and filled with malice.
"They love me and I know I can count on them." I said. He chuckled, walking closer to me. He started to circle me, like a shark around its prey.
"Then why are you still here then?" He whispered in my ear. "Clearly, they would have been the first to arrive to save you from this evil place of mine."
"They're a tad bit busy with this war you've started." I said through gritted teeth.
"Ah but I mean, surely they would have found the time to break through my forces to rescue one of their own. That's what family is supposed to do, isn't it?"
"Stop it." I glared at him. "I know what you're trying to do and it isn't going to work."
"I'm not trying to do anything." He said, continuing to pace around me. "All I am saying is that if family is supposed to save you and be there for you in your time of need, it seems like I'm the only family you have now, Kimberly. I saved your life and have been caring for both you and your daughter since. Who would do that if they didn't consider you family?"
"Someone looking for leverage in a battle they can't win." He stopped in front of me and brought his face close to me.
"Oh, but Kimberly, I am winning."
