Everyone exited the portal and widened their eyes at the beautiful view of the Mystic Ruins. The area they came in was a small field area that had a train station that was a couple flights of stairs above ground, mountains, caves, and a waterfall on the opposite side, and a beautiful, blue, and sparkling ocean behind the train station. They also noticed a small, green-ish house located east of the train station, and some of the characters knew whom it belonged to immediately.
Everyone parked their arwings on the field and took in the fresh air and ocean breeze.
"So, we're in the Sonic world, eh? The famed Mystic Ruins! Pretty eye-catching too," Waluigi noted.
"It's one of these moments where a group selfie is required with this gorgeous background so we can later show it off on social media. Anyone? Eh?" Goombario asked.
"Don't have social media nor do I care for it," Parakarry commented.
"Wanna know what else is required? Bunnies! Come on, there's all this landscape here and no furry animals like bunnies are traversing it right now?" Koopie half-joked.
"I can make that happen! Watch this!" Rosalina happily abided and snapped her fingers. Suddenly, a bunch of bunnies appeared all over the fields, astounding everyone else except for one particular person.
"AAAAHHHH! OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE YOU, CRAZY!? TAKE THEM AWAY BEFORE THEY EAT ME!" Toadette shrilled and hid behind Bowser.
"Seriously? They're one of the most harmless creatures ever! Geez, what kind of shenanigans happened in your life?" Larry asked. Meanwhile, Waluigi gave Rosalina a somewhat disapproving look without her noticing.
"Alright guys, enough! Now that we've arrived, let's get straight into finding out where the emerald gem is. I've seen this area a couple times in Sonic Adventure, so I'm kinda familiar with the setting. If I remember correctly, Arfur told us that the gem is located in the jungle," Mario spoke.
"Yes, he did say that. So, it should be pretty simple to find it, no? From what I remember of the game, the jungle isn't TOO big, so all we literally have to do is check every nook and cranny of the jungle and we'll find the gem in no time!" Banjo said in hope.
"Really Banjo? All the previous worlds were the exact opposite of simple, so why do you think this one will be?" Kammy questioned.
"And just by you saying it will be simple automatically means it won't be…" Kazooie added with a roll of her eyes.
"Hey guys!"
Everyone looked to where the voice came from and saw Miles Tails Prower flying down from above with a wave to the group.
"Oh, hey! It's that…uhh…fox guy…from the, uhh, games…" Pauline awkwardly spoke, not remembering his name.
"Seriously? His name is Tails! As in the tails on his behind?" Toad exclaimed in shock.
"I prefer the name 'Miles.' It sounds more creative and less obnoxious!" Bombette commented.
"Uhh…thank you? So, uhh, quite a surprise seeing you guys here! How are you all? And how come there's so many of you? Are you guys on a vacation?" Tails asked.
"To tell you the truth, we could be doing a lot better, but we're hanging in here. To make this story short, we're all on a journey to collect these gems that will help us defeat this asshole of a villain in our world who's planning on basically taking over our world and destroying it at the same time. We're basically doing an RPG quest. We were told that a gem exists here in these ruins, an emerald one. Do you know where it's located exactly?" Daisy explained.
Tails gave them a disturbed expression. "Eh!? Holy moly, I am so sorry about that, you guys! But, uhh, if it isn't Bowser this time, because he's right here, then who is it?"
"Hmph, aren't we being judgmental today?" Bowser scowled.
"It's an alien named Tatanga. A bunch of other villains are helping him too, but he's the main one doing this same old boring world domination crap," Diddy answered.
"Never heard of this Tatanga, but again, sorry to hear that about your world, and also sorry Bowser, but, um, but you ARE the main person who causes havoc in the Mushroom Kingdom…" Tails apologized nervously, really trying not to piss off the koopa king. Bowser gave him a glare and crossed his arms. Tails gulped at his dirty look.
"Uhh, so, Tails! Know where the emerald gem is?" Larry asked, noting the awkward exchange of expressions between the two.
"Oh, right, the emerald gem! I assume you mean chaos emerald? Huh…err…kinda hate to tell you this, but we already have all seven chaos emeralds kept hidden safe somewhere. I'll check again just to make sure, but it can't be any of them…could it?" Tails questioned. Everyone else had worried and concerned looks.
"None of us are sure. We were just told that the chaos emerald would be found in the jungle in this area!" Jojora said.
"Really? That's weird! None of the chaos emeralds were previously found in there either, unless they were talking about the ruins in the jungle?" Tails questioned again.
"We're not sure of anything at this point. So, I guess we're gonna have to try to find it ourselves then and pray that we get lucky…" Birdo sighed.
"I'm feeling the aura of the gem come from that direction, in the jungle. I'm pretty positive it's the gem as the aura feels as the same as it did with the previous ones," Rosalina said.
"Well, if the space witch says it, then it must be so!" Wendy exclaimed.
"Space witch? That's what you are? Uhh…okay…wait! Why don't I search it for you? I have machinery in my workshop that can detect mystical items like chaos emeralds. I've been working on it for a long time now so this will be the perfect opportunity for me to test it out! All I need to do is make a few tweaks and it should be good to go!" Tails said.
"Really? Tails, you don't have to. We appreciate the offer but we don't want you to use up your valuable time dealing with our mission that only we should deal with!" Luigi declined.
"Don't listen to the crazy green man, do it! This will make this world go by so much quicker!" Bombette demanded.
"Yeah! HELP US OR BE SHUNNED FOREVER!" Fire Bro hissed.
"Woah woah woah, calm down guys! I will definitely help you out! Just take it easy. Look, I'm not gonna take no for an answer. I know exactly what it's like dealing with a maniacal villain who wants to take over the world so I want to give you guys a break because I can tell that you all look very worn out. How many worlds have you guys done by the way?" Tails asked.
"We've done five…including a shit ton of drama, violence, and deaths in between," Dixie answered, shaking her head. Tails widened his eyes.
"Yow, very sorry to hear that. But, as I said, let me handle it. I'll go get the equipment needed for this little scavenger hunt and hopefully I won't be too long. While I'm doing this, why don't you guys go hang out in Station Square? The train here is free for anyone to ride on and it only takes 15 minutes to get there," Tails suggested.
"Huh…that's actually not a bad idea. Plus, they have a beach there too, don't they?" Kooper asked, forming a smile.
"I'm definitely down for chilling out and not doing any hard work for once!" Waluigi laughed.
"Eh? But we did that yesterday, you guys! I-I feel like we would be slacking or wasting time if we do nothing…" Mario said in worry.
"C'mon man! You heard the fox, he'll find the gem for us! There's nothing wrong with taking another break! Besides, strolling through the city and relaxing on the beach will take our minds off of everything and de-stress us even more. Sure, we DID take a break yesterday, but all we really did was just sit around, you know? At least with this place, we get to actively do something fun!" Wario exclaimed.
"That's…the most psychological thing I've ever heard from you," Goombella said in surprise.
"I think it would be good for us too. Mario, think about it, we're probably not gonna get an opportunity like this in the rest of the worlds so let's take a chance to chill and have a little fun while Tails does the work for us?" DK suggested.
Mario sighed and thought hard about it. Taking yet another daybreak really worried him because he wanted to make the most of his time with finding the gem and moving on to the next world so they could get a step closer to defeating Tatanga. Yet, at the same time, a small part of him really craved the beach. Just thinking about it really relaxed him.
"…Okay. You guys are right. Let's go to Station Square. Thank you Tails for doing this," Mario said with a smile. Everyone else either gave a quiet cheer or a sigh of relief.
"Of course! Don't sweat it! By the way, if you guys desire to spend the night in Station Square, there's a new place called Clearwater Hotel there run by my friend Sally Acorn, and I can give her a call and get you guys into some rooms for free! It's right by the beach too! She'll totally hook you up with everything!" Tails added excitedly.
"WHAT!? That's it, we are OFFICIALLY going! Do they have a spa? What about massages? Fancy room service? Rooftop pool? Stuffed pink bear animals?" Peach repeatedly asked in joy.
"Wow! Talk about luxury! Thanks man! We owe you big time! We'll definitely check it out!" Yoshi cheered.
"Wait, did you say Sally Acorn? As in that squirrel chick? Aw yes! She was one of my crushes from long ago when I read the comics! Any idea if she's single right now?" Toad squealed.
"Wait a second here, Tails…all of this you're doing for us is amazing and all, but…we have to ask you something. So, uhh, Charmy Bee and Amy Rose were on this adventure with us briefly. Then, after we got our fourth gem, something, uhh, 'happened' with them. They went 'psycho' completely out of nowhere and stabbed Koops in the back and knocked Rosalina out. Obviously, they're okay now but we'd like to know if you noticed anything 'off' with them?" Mona spoke about the incident that happened in Hyrule, setting the mood to be serious again.
"Yeah, they were kind of like animals, the way they growled and moved…their eyes were bloodshot too! Any idea what the hell is up with that?" Pauline asked.
Tails widened his eyes and made a small gasp, looking frightened. "Wh-what…!? No. No way. That couldn't be Amy and Charmy. Are you sure it was them? Not, um, clones or robots or anything of the sort!?"
"Well…I guess they COULD be those, but I don't know…before that, they were completely normal. Their personalities were exactly like how they were in the games. Then all of a sudden, they changed, out of nowhere. Have you talked to them or any of your Sonic buddies?" Daisy asked.
"Huh! Well, now that you mention it, I actually haven't seen any of my friends for the past few days…but there is definitely something weird happening. I called Sonic a few days ago just to see how he was doing, but no answer. Called him the day after, still no answer. Day after that, still no answer! I ended up getting worried so I called my other friends like Amy, Rouge, Blaze, Silver, etc. but no one was answering me! I was really freaked out! So, I went up to Angel Island yesterday to see Knuckles and see if he knew what was up. He told me that he talked to them a while ago and that all of them are really busy and traveling around and such. He also seemed to be in a grumpy mood too, so I don't really know what that's all about…but still, that just gave me a feeling of discomfort. I'm really sorry that Amy and Charmy did that to you guys, but something must've happened taken over their bodies or something!" Tails explained.
"Yeah, it's the only thing we can think of too! I don't know…we'll do our best to figure out anything if we can while we're out and about," Luigi said.
"That would be much appreciated! Now then, I'll go find the gem, and you guys have fun in Station Square, but I definitely urge you to check out the hotel! In fact, it's probably better if at least a few of you stay there or around there anyways, so I can let you guys know that I got the gem and give it to you," Tails instructed. The gang nodded and went on their way to the platform.
"YAHOO! This is gonna be so much fun, you guys! So, who wants to be my surfboard when we go to the beach!?" Fire Bro cheerfully asked.
"Uhh…did I just hear you correctly? You want someone to be your surfboard!? Is that even possible!?" Vivian yelped.
"It probably is, to be honest. He used me as a torpedo at Jolly Roger Bay when we went to Peach's Castle to find the first gem," Toadette explained, cringing at that memory.
"Yikes! Sorry that happened to you. He sure is a lot stronger than he looks then if used you as a torpedo…" Vivian also cringed.
"I just don't understand how someone can be so…jolly after everything that just happened. Doesn't he even feel the least bit sad or angry?" Bowser Jr. questioned.
"I try not to question crazy people anymore. It just is what it is, I guess…" Toadette said.
"Hey Goombella…remember in Rusty Bucket Bay when you were talking to Watt about how you were a little suspicious of Banjo and Kazooie, because of how they just popped up in our world randomly like Charmy and Amy did?" Wario quietly asked.
"Yes, I do. Why?" she replied.
"Well, I don't want to sound paranoid but do you think we should keep an eye on them, kinda follow them around, make sure they don't wander off to do anything, I dunno, shady?" he asked.
"Eh, I dunno, Wario. At first, I was on board with suspecting those two and even questioning them, but now, after helping us so much with everything, I really doubt they're planning some scheme. Let's not waste our energy after everything that's happened. We'll be saving ourselves from more drama too," Goombella objected to the idea.
"I get what you're saying, but…I don't know. We could be preventing another incident like what happened with Amy and Charmy hurting Koops and Rosalina. Plus, they've kinda been under the radar this whole time too…I just can't seem to fully trust them," Wario responded, looking at the bear and bird with suspicion.
The train eventually arrived and everyone got on board. Because it was a huge group, and the fact that there was already a limited number of seats, half of them had to stand up. Not only that, but the group received bizarre looks from everyone else in there, creating a very awkward atmosphere.
"Wha…WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!? STOP IT! STOP STARING AT ME! IT BURNS!" Fire Bro screeched and hid in his shell.
"Uhh, it's not polite to stare! Haven't you ever seen a Koopa before?" Koopie nervously yelled at a boy next to her.
"What's a koopa? Are you all a group of circus performers? How does your ponytail even connect to your head?" the boy continuously asked
"BECAUSE YOU TOUCH YOURSELF AT NIGHT! NO MORE QUESTIONS!" Kooper rudely interrupted, garnering some gasps from others.
"Kooper, what the hell!? That was so unnecessary!" Koopie yelled.
"Sorry, I panicked! These people and their judgy stares are making me uncomfortable!" Kooper cried.
"Ooh! Mommy! Can I play with the big, toy bomb!? It looks so cool!" said a little boy excitedly, pointing to Bombette.
"WHAT!? I am not a freaking toy, you prepubescent weirdo! If you dare touch me, I'll blow this entire train up!" Bombette threatened. The little boy started to cry and his mom gasped at what she said.
"PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T. I beg of you. The one time we get an easy world and you guys are causing drama. Just stop for ten minutes please. We can survive the rest of the way with these people," Daisy ordered.
"What the heck is that thing with the wings!? Is that supposed to be a gigantic, newly discovered bird or some mutated bug?" yelled a guy from some feet away.
"Who, me!? I'm the freaking mailman who FLIES instead of driving those crappy, pasty-white automobiles you all do in the human world! Who are you, buddy, a street walker!?" Parakarry angrily replied. The guy got heated and stomped towards him but he suddenly bumped into an invisible barrier done by Rosalina.
"Did you not just hear what Daisy said!? Don't pay them any attention! Let it go!" Rosalina said.
"Woah, check out that fat floating person! Hey lady, how do you make yourself float like that?" asked an obnoxious teen girl.
"WHY, I NEVER, YOU PRUDE! I am not fat, I am simply…cu…curvy…" Flurrie shrieked, trying her hardest to convince herself and others.
"Hey baby, nice rack you got there! May I snag a feel?" some pervert asked to Mona.
"EWWW! You disgusting asshole! Screw off!" Mona yelled.
"Yeah, you heard her! Back away from my girlfriend! I mean, uhh, my friend wh-who is a g-girl…yeah!" Wario caught himself in the Freudian slip. Mona caught the slip.
"Really? What are you gonna do if I don't, buddy!?" the guy stood up and got in his face.
"Well…THIS!" Wario then punched him in the face, shocking the other passengers.
"STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? DO YOU GUYS NOT LISTEN!?" Mario yelled.
"What? I was sending him a message!" Wario shrugged. The guy angrily roared and shoved Wario and knocked him into a few others.
"OW! That does it! We're taking all these humans down! ATTAAAAAAAAAAAACK!" Kammy shouted. Half of the group shouted as well and prepared to unleash their fury on the passengers.
"Now arriving in Station Square!"
"Oh yay! We're here, you guys! Let's explore!" Peach cheered. The half of the group who was ready to go mad on the passengers froze for a few seconds then composed themselves as if nothing ever happened.
"Oh, right! Let's, um, check out Station Square and pretend like we weren't about to go apeshit on everyone for no reason, shall we?" Dixie said, shifting her eyes nervously.
The group quickly got out of the train as soon as the doors opened, fearing an angry response from the passengers. They exited the station and gazed in awe at the city that surrounded them; skyscrapers, stores, hotels, and the beach. It was exactly like Mushroom City, except minus being so close to the beach and all the humans walking about (and of course, not being destroyed).
"Woooooow! This is beautiful! And it's literally right next to the beach too! Talk about paradise!" Yoshi said, astounded again.
"I vote to do some window shopping!" Kazooie shouted.
"Look at all these humans though…walking with such plain faces on…all heading in one direction or the other…not even acknowledging each other's existence. Is this what living in the human world is like?" Goombario over-analyzed the scene.
Mario gave him a shrug. "Depends on where you live."
"Over there! I see it! Clearwater Hotel, the one that Tails talked about! It looks like it's literally on the beach too, so let's check it out first!" Pauline said and pointed to everyone's right. The large group power-walked to the hotel, still admiring the gorgeous and modern city and beach scenery.
Just as they were about to enter the grand doors of the hotel, a familiar pair of characters exited and shocked the living daylights out of the group.
"WOAH! What the…Mario! Luigi! And…a whole bunch of other people! Hello! What on earth brings you here?" Sonic the Hedgehog excitedly asked.
"Whoa Nelly! Hey Sonic and…A-Amy!" Luigi greeted, gulping as soon as he saw Amy, immediately remembering what happened with her and Charmy at Hyrule.
"Oh god, she's here! What do we do!? Someone better be prepared to take her down!" Koops quickly freaked out.
"Koops, stop! It's okay! We're not gonna let her do anything to you!" Koopie assured.
"Kinda odd though…last time we saw her, she was acting like a ferocious beast, but now…she seems completely normal. What's up with that?" Vivian asked.
"We're just here to…um…" Mario wasn't sure whether to lie or tell the truth to the both of them. There was a whole bunch of problems at foot here. Mario didn't know if Amy told Sonic about the adventure and what she and Charmy did. Mario knew that Amy nor Charmy didn't know that the gem is located in this world since Kylie and Arfur never announced it to them, but at the same time, the exact same group of people who Amy and Charmy with, coming here, made it completely obvious to Amy. Mario also didn't know if Sonic was 'infected' with the same thing that Amy and Charmy had.
"…I'm just showing my friends here your world. We're, um, doing kind of a vacation thing and we were also all hoping to meet your other friends and just, uhh, chill out!" Mario spoke with as much confidence as he could. Amy giggled at him.
"Really? Is that ALL you came here for!?" she said in a snarky way.
"Very interesting, Mario. But…I didn't know you considered Bowser your friend!" Sonic also giggled.
Bowser rolled his eyes at him. "Aren't you supposed to be running away from that pink furred menace like you usually are!?" Everyone else turned their head to Bowser with angry expressions, some shushing him.
"Eh? What did you say?" Sonic asked, legitimately not hearing him.
"Nothing! Just ignore him! But, as Mario said, we're taking this group to someplace new to just get away and relax, because we want to experience new things and de-stress ourselves from certain things and…people," Daisy said, glancing at Amy at the last word.
"I see! Well then, welcome! I'll make sure to invite the gang down here so we can all hang out! This is actually perfect timing too! I think it had to have been fate that you guys came down here at this moment in time," Sonic exclaimed.
"Really? And why is that?" Jojora asked with a raised brow.
"Because, guess what? Me and Amy are getting married!" Sonic happily announced. Everyone's jaws dropped in shock and even a little in horror.
"WAIT, WH-WH-WHAT!? YOU…SONIC…ARE WHATTING HOW WITH WHO AGAIN!?" Yoshi squealed.
"Uhh…am I supposed to say congratulations?" Larry questioned.
"We…we ARE in the actual Sonic world, right!? Not some kind of alternate dimension version of the Sonic world?" Diddy questioned as well.
"Since when did you fall in love with Amy!? Since when did you even want to get married!? Since when did you become normal again after attacking Rosalina!?" Waluigi repeatedly asked, still in shock.
"Huh? I never attacked Rosalina!" Sonic replied in confusion.
"NEVERMIND THAT! Just…uhh…wow! Congrats to both of you! I, uhh, am very happy for you two!" Mario said, attempting to be joyous for them.
"Thank you so much! Our wedding is going to be in two days actually, at the Emerald Hill Church, we are soooooo stoked! We are also doing a Bachelor and Bachelorette party tomorrow night too! We really REALLY hope you all can make it to both events!" Amy said.
"Two days from now!? But, that's so quick! Plus, aren't you both still teenagers? Geez, live life a little and don't rush it!" Birdo criticized.
"Oh no, we set up the date months ago, that's why I said that you guys arrived at the perfect time today! And, come on, age is just a number! We knew that we were meant to be so why not get married? It makes perfect sense!" Sonic gleamed cheerfully. The fact that Sonic was acting so NOT Sonic started to creep everyone else out.
"Really? Age is just a number? You're really gonna go there? So, you're one of THOSE people, I assume?" Wendy judged.
"Alright you guys, we really have to go now, but please, we urge you to come to the wedding and bachelor/bachelorette events. The wedding will be at Emerald Hill Church on 100 Gray Street. My bachelorette party will be at this hotel tomorrow night and Sonic's bachelor party will be at Paradise Bar in downtown Station Square. We REALLY hope you all can make it, at the very least to the wedding! You definitely don't wanna miss the wedding for the world, trust me!" Amy urged pretty hard, giving a wink to the group, creeping them out even more.
"Yes, please! We really want you guys there! You'll regret it so much if you don't come! See ya!" Sonic waved and the two trodded off.
"I only have three words to say...WHAT THE FUCK," Kooper stated.
"Yeah, that was waaaaaaayyyyy bizarre. Sonic marrying Amy? Are we in a fucking fanfiction or something?" Pauline asked.
"God, that was so cringeworthy! Everything about that was just so godawfully wrong!" Lakilulu yelled in disgust.
"So, anyone else noticed that Amy seemed completely opposite from what happened in Hyrule? What the hell was up with that?" Kammy pointed out.
"Yeah…but I saw Amy's eyes though, they seemed a little bloodshot, like how they were in Hyrule, but not as obvious as it was then. Now that I think about it, Sonic's eyes looked like that too. So, there's definitely something up with those two. And this wedding…they definitely implied that something is going to happen there, with that wink Amy gave and how they tried so hard to convince us to go…" Mario said, pacing back and forth with concern on his face.
"I noticed that too. I got a VERY bad feeling about this, you guys. Something was just extremely off with those two…well, besides the obvious getting married part," DK said.
"Yeah, and what was up with not telling them about what happened in Hyrule!? Don't you think you should've brought that up and get some answers?" Waluigi asked.
"I honestly wasn't sure what I should've said. I didn't know if Sonic knew or if it would've created a huge conflict or if they would've lied or…I don't know. But, I promise that we WILL get answers and justice for what happened, okay? Now, let's go inside and check out this hotel," Mario ordered, already taking so much crap in and getting stressed out again. The group went into the hotel and, once again, gazed in awe at the fancy red décor and exquisite chandelier that filled the whole lobby.
"Nice, total five stars hotel! I can't believe Sally Acorn owns this!" Goombario exclaimed.
"Well, not exactly own, it's a family business that I recently took over and run…eh, I suppose you can say I own it," said the squirrel as she approached the group. "I definitely recognize some of you! I just got a call from Tails about you guys coming here and possibly staying?"
"Hi! Yes! That's us. As for staying the night, well, we're not really sure of anything yet. We're kind of just waiting for Tails to find us this treasure and we'll be on our way," Luigi explained.
"Actually, Sally, do you know anything about Sonic and Amy's wedding? We literally just found out about it after bumping into them outside," Daisy asked.
"Yeah! Pretty strange stuff, isn't it? Like…I was told about it two days ago and I'm still shocked and trying to process it all. It came very out of nowhere. To me, it seems very rushed. Why the hell are they doing a wedding two days from now!? Why can't they just set it months in advance like everyone else does!?" Sally complained. This caught everyone's attention.
"Wait a second…two days ago!? They just told us that they announced it MONTHS ago! What the hell is going on here!?" Parakarry exclaimed.
"Really? Holy crap…okay, this is getting to be BEYOND weird at this point. Well, in any case, I'll be attending the wedding and bachelorette party tomorrow night, but since it's on short notice, I doubt it's gonna be huge. So, you guys gonna spend the night or no?" Sally asked again.
"We probably should. I'm really not liking this whole wedding thing…I get really bad vibes from it…" Vivian said.
"Why the hell should we? We came into this world just for the gem. I'm not staying just for some stupid, crazy wedding," Bowser pouted.
"Yeah, this just seems like a waste of time, staying here for that. Let's just chill out till Tails finds the gem and then head on out," Diddy said.
"I don't know, you guys. I know that the gem thing is probably a separate issue from the wedding, but…I just really feel like something bad is gonna happen there and it's gonna affect this area. They're definitely planning something, you guys. Let's not forget the fact that we still don't know what caused Amy and Charmy to go all berserk and that they could cause harm to other people still," Daisy said.
"So what, Daisy!? Let the people here deal with it! This isn't OUR world! We have bigger things to worry about!" Bowser argued.
"I know that, Bowser! I understand completely! But, I feel like there's a reason why this is all happening right when we get here. It can't be a coincidence. Besides, if something horrible DID happen and we weren't here to stop it, would we be able to live with ourselves? I mean, we have a vastly powerful group of people with a variety of powers, we'd be able to stop practically anything!" Daisy said.
"Look, I'm all for helping people and saving the world and such, but Bowser has a point. This has nothing to do with us nor does the wedding have anything to do with the gem. Now, if the gem were somehow involved with the wedding then I'd be all gung ho for spending the night here, but because it's not, there's literally no point in staying here longer than we need to. We're still on a timer here, you know!" Goombario explained his position.
"I know we're on a timer! Look, we can't deny that there is going to be something happening at the wedding and I'm sure we all know that it's not going to be good. We all got pretty bad vibes from what just happened outside. But come on you guys, it's just two days. Plus, it gives us the perfect opportunity to relax a bit more and recharge," Daisy said in defense.
"Daisy…I agree with you, dear, but, and I apologize if this comes out as narcissistic or something of the sort, we must take care of our own world first. What will we do with ourselves if we do decide to stay here and help out, and then come back to our world and find out that it's too late? What then? We can't save everyone, dear," Flurrie said.
"I have friends here…" Mario spoke. "I see great points on both sides…oh, stars, what should we do?"
"Friends? Are you fucking kidding me? Mario, these are your rivals, they don't give a shit about you! Think for a second, you're the hero of our world, well what's gonna happen when there's going to be no more world to save? Everyone back in our world is counting on YOU, most of all, to save them as quick as humanly possible," Bowser aggressively stated.
"Okay, tone down the rage there, turtle boy! I have a better idea, let's just do a vote count. Whichever choice gets the most votes, we go with that choice, okay?" Waluigi asked.
"What? That's so…ugh…I guess if it's the only way…" Wendy sighed.
"Alright then, everyone who wants to leave, raise your hand," Daisy commanded. Bowser, Kammy, Wendy, Larry, Bowser Jr., Goombario, Kooper, Koopie, Parakarry, Lakilulu, Flurrie, Jojora, Fire Bro, Diddy, and Dixie raised their hands.
"Okay…that's 15…and who wants to stay?" she asked. Her, Peach, Luigi, Rosalina, Waluigi, DK, Yoshi, Birdo, Goombella, Koops, Vivian, Bombette, Wario, Toad, Toadette, Banjo, Kazooie, and Pauline raised their hands.
"That's 18 for stay! Looks like the decision is settled then," Goombella said.
"WAIT! Mona and Mario didn't vote!" Bowser Jr. pointed out.
"Doesn't matter, even if they were to vote to leave, the stay vote still wins by 1," Daisy said.
"I honestly didn't mind either option, so I guess I'm neutral in this case," Mona shrugged.
"Me…me too…" Mario cryptically added.
"Pathetic. Absolutely fucking pathetic," Bowser threw an attitude, ticking off some of the others.
"Just stop. What's done is done," Jojora stated.
"Uhh…did I just hear you right when you said that Charmy and Amy went all berserk!?" Sally asked in shock, overhearing everything.
"Oh! That! Uhh yeah, um, they were on this adventure with us. They somehow came into our world for who-knows-what reason, helped us out a bit, and all of a sudden went mad and hurt two of our friends. Sally, have you noticed anything super bizarre about those two, besides the obvious sudden marriage?" Daisy asked.
"What!? They hurt your friends!? That doesn't sound like them at all. I mean…for Amy, I just get this weird vibe from her when I talked to her last, like she wasn't being herself. She wasn't violent or psychotic or anything, but something about her just felt so off. As for Charmy, I haven't talked to him in a long time so I'm not sure about him," Sally answered, still in shock.
"Sounds like a lot of trouble brewing up!" said Vector the Crocodile as he approached the group. "If you want answers about Charmy, I haven't seen the kid in a while myself. I know he said he was off on a vacation to some event thing in some other world with Amy, but I haven't seen him since he left."
"Oh! You're Vector! And yeah, I guess that's the story. We're trying to figure out what happened to Amy and Charmy that made them go berserk," Toad said.
Vector shook his head in worry. "God, I really hope that kid didn't get himself into…no, I can't think that. I'll call Amy on my break and see if she knows where he is. If she's back and he's not, then I'm afraid of the zillion things that could've happened to him."
"Wait, your 'break'? Do you work here?" Luigi asked.
"Yes, I work security here, usually at night, but someone called out today, so I'm doing a double shift. Gotta pay for those bills for our Chaotix Agency house somehow!" Vector answered.
"Oh, nice! So you can keep a watch on this place in case something 'off' happens while we stay!" Dixie exclaimed.
"So, you guys ARE staying? For real? No vague answers please!" Sally wanted to confirm.
"Yes, we are! For sure! But…uhh…shit! None of us have any money!" Daisy shrieked.
"Don't you remember, Daisy? Tails said we'd be able to get free rooms! R…right?" Toadette asked.
"Sure. From what I've gathered from you all and Tails, I'll let you guys stay for free. It's only for two days so it's literally no biggie. However, I definitely would prefer it if you guys kind of 'paired up' for each room for the sake of space for other guests coming in," Sally happily complied.
"Now, when you say 'free rooms,' is that also including room service and spa treatment!?" Peach excitedly asked.
Waluigi and Rosalina entered their room. The room had a very relaxing look to it, with the continuous use of the red décor, the fancy queen-sized bed with white sheets and pillows, a tan-tiled bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the sea.
"Nice. This is just perfect. I've always dreamed about vacationing by the sea, and, well, I guess my wish was granted," Waluigi said.
"Me too! This room is almost perfect…it's just missing some elegant pictures…" Rosalina said, snapped her fingers, and framed portraits of mountains and oceans suddenly showed up hung on the walls. Waluigi looked her almost in disapproval. Rosalina noticed this and raised a brow.
"What? You don't like the pictures?" she asked innocently.
"No, it's not that, it's just…n-nevermind. Doesn't matter. But, uhh, I can see that you can do magic without even saying some mumbo jumbo words now," Waluigi pointed out.
"Yeah. I think I'm mastering my own powers and strength now! I feel completely on top, and I think it has to do with that battle with Gruntilda that we had. Watch this!" Rosalina said in utmost excitement and snapped her fingers again. The color of the room changed completely to purple instead of red.
"Woah! Uhh…dang, I guess that's pretty impressive…" Waluigi awkwardly responded, feeling a little uncomfortable.
"And this…" Rosalina began, waving her hand slowly over a bouquet of roses that was on a small table next to the TV. The roses suddenly morphed into a colorful variety of lilies. "See? Amazing, isn't it?"
"Sure…but not as amazing as you," Waluigi said as he walked to her. He put his hands on her hips and kissed her and the space princess kissed back. Both hearts began to race immediately and a feeling of pure bliss came over them. They stopped kissing, both acknowledging this overwhelming yet amazing feeling and looked at each other.
"Wow…th-that wasn't you, was it?" Waluigi asked, laughing a little. Rosalina laughed in response.
"Heh! No…well, technically, it was, but it was…all natural and beautiful. Just like you."
Waluigi couldn't help but blush immensely. "Thank you. Never been called beautiful before but I appreciate that so much."
Rosalina blushed in embarrassment. "Oh, I'm sorry! Usually guys are called handsome and at that moment I was just…ugh, great, I ruined the moment…"
Waluigi laughed more. "No, you didn't. I thought it was cute, actually. Don't worry, you'll never ruin a moment with me. I…I love you, Rosalina."
Rosalina widened her eyes a little but eventually formed a wide smile at that comment. Her heart fluttered with joy. "I love you too, Waluigi."
They kissed again for another minute, enjoying each other to the fullest. No one that these two have ever met before made them feel so right, loved, and secure at that very moment. They stopped again.
"Rosalina…do you want to…?"
"Want to what?"
"Do you want to…um…you know…"
He motioned his head to the bed.
"Oh! That! Wow…um…Waluigi…"
"It's okay if you don't, Rosalina. I just wanna feel so much closer to you than I am right now, but I understand if you don't."
"No…I…I do want to, Waluigi. I want to feel closer with you too. I love you."
Everything fell perfectly into place from then on. Sparks flew like always with the loving couple. Everything that these two have been through together has been building up to this moment of pure happiness. All doubts and fears about the world faded away in this intimate moment, a moment that seemed to last for the longest time, one that will forever change their lives.
Amy Rose walked into a dimly-lit room at an unknown location. She walked over to a large, shadowy figure and began to speak.
"So…the characters that I've told you about before that large group with Super Mario and the rest, they're here, seeking a gem, and from what it looks like, they're gonna be staying for the wedding too! How marvelous is that!?"
"Mario…hmm…yes, I've heard of this man before you told me about him. Supposedly a hero from another world that's unstoppable. Heh heh heh. Excellent. He and his friends will witness the 'event' then and then we'll either kill them or have them join our side, whichever is easier at the time. I'm very interested to see what this Mario man can do in person. Just because he's indestructible in one world, doesn't mean he'll prevail in another. Rules are different. Environment is different. He'll never see what we have coming…" said the figure in a deep and husky voice.
"Oh, of course! So, what do you propose we do with him and his friends until the wedding?" Amy asked.
"Don't kill them. That's my only request. Other than that, you and the others can do whatever you want with them. Fuck with their heads as much as possible. Maybe even infect some of them to join our side in time for the event. Just have your fun."
Amy Rose grew a wide and wicked grin. "Oh, we're gonna have fun alright. This will be an experience that none of those guys will EVER forget."
Back in Mushroom City, people were being transported to St. Toadofsky's Hospital via buses from the hospital by Mushroom Corporations. Mimi, Bleck, Toadiko, Tippi, Toadsworth, Frankly, Tiny, Iggy, Lemmy, Morton, Ludwig, Fly Guy, and Lakilester all sat near each other on the bus. They and the rest of the people on the bus looked out the windows in horror at the wrecked city all around them. Buildings were blown apart and cars were smashed. The buses maneuvered around the debris.
"God…even though we have lots of money now thanks to Fox and his crew…it's still going to take forever to fix this city and get it back to the way it used to be…" Toadsworth sighed.
"Such a horrible tragedy, isn't it? All the lives of people lost…all the jobs lost too…all the places that made Mushroom City such a wonderful place…let's hope we can get that glory back someday," Frankly said with equal despair.
"At least the suburbs of the city are still okay, on a somewhat lighter note. So, it's not like the entirety of the city is completely wiped out," Toadiko said.
"And at least we're safe from harm for now. At this point, it's just a waiting game for the heroes to get all those gems, defeat Tatanga, and save the world," Tippi said.
"Well, that's assuming if nothing else crazy happens, of course…" Tiny spoke with fear.
"Is that supposed to be a comment directed at us, lady!?" Morton yelled, getting out of his seat.
"MORTON, STOP! For crying out loud, just take a chill pill! You took what she said waaayyy out of context!" Lemmy hushed and pulled him back into his seat.
"Yeah man, don't add any more drama that isn't necessary! Just keep your mouth shut till we're at the new hospital PLEASE!" Iggy pleaded.
"…Whatever. Like that pixl butterfly said, this is all just a waiting game for the heroes to come back with dad so he can blame us for everything again and probably kick us out of the castle," Morton grumbled and slouched in his seat.
"Ugh, you are driving us all crazy right now. He'll come around, just stop with ze moping!" Ludwig demanded, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, dad was just furious about Roy and took it on us, plus with the fact that he's trying to save the world too is putting a lot of pressure on him. Just give it time. This will blow over eventually," Iggy assured.
"Wow…dad and 'save the world' in the same sentence…never thought I would ever hear that…" Lemmy noted in shock.
"…and she just breaks up with me! After all I've done for that woman! I paid for our dates, took her to places, bought her clothes, and what do I get in return!? A whole bunch of nagging and emotional abuse! I've given years of my life to that crazy bitch and I want them back, you know what I'm saying!?" Lakilester angrily ranted to Fly Guy about Lakilulu.
"Uh huh…are you forgetting about the fact that you also treated Lakilulu like crap? I mean, we've all seen it! It's not a secret! Even the Star Spirits have seen it! Hell, even Mona Lisa has seen it!" Fly Guy exclaimed. Lakilester gave him a very confused look.
"Uhhhhh…what in the actual fuck are you talking about!? Look man, what you THINK you have seen is just called tough love! That's how I roll in my relationships! You would think she would've gotten that after being with me for so long, but NO! She's a complete dunce and I'm ready to move the hell on!" the lakitu proudly declared.
"I see…so…I have to ask you, have you ever tried going out with guys instead? You know, just to see if you have better luck with men than women?" Fly Guy asked. Lakilester gave him another confused expression.
"What? Why would I do that? I'm not gay!" he exclaimed.
"That's what some guys say…yet, their whole world changes once they try it out," Fly Guy winked. Lakilester became extremely uncomfortable.
"Um, excuse me, miss, are you alright?" Bleck asked to a little toad girl across from him who was crying into the arms of another toad girl about her age.
"*sniff* I-I think I lost my mom and dad a-at the hospital! *sniff* I thought they w-were on the bus but it started to go suddenly and it was too late…*sniff*" the toad girl sobbed.
"I keep telling her that they probably got on a different bus and are just behind us. Please, Toadiana, calm down. It's gonna be alright," Toadessa Wu said to her in comfort.
"I agree, that's definitely what happened. You'll see your parents again as soon as their bus drops them off at the new place, okay miss...Toadiana, right?" Bleck politely asked.
"Y-Yes, that's my name. Thank you…that makes me feel a little better…" Toadiana sniffled.
"My name is Toadessa Wu. My parents are a few seats down towards the back. I just couldn't let her cry alone all like that…" she explained.
"I understand. You're a very good friend to her, Toadessa. In times like this, it's always great to have a close friend…" Bleck said, immediately thinking of Nastasia and O'Chunks when he spoke those words.
The bus eventually came to a stop at the lot of St. Toadofsky's Hospital. Everyone got out and checked out the premises and immediately liked the new place. The hospital itself was six floors and was immensely longer in width. Other than that, it looked pretty similar to the previous hospital.
"Wow. This place will definitely suit us way better! And look, this whole area isn't even ruined. Something tells me that things will definitely be looking up from here on out," Toadiko spoke in excitement.
As more buses came in, and everyone who got dropped off murmured amongst themselves and headed into the hospital, they were stopped by an abnormally tall orange-colored male Noki.
"Hello everyone! Welcome to St. Toadofsky's Hospital. My name is Dr. Nokano. We have received word from Mushroom Corporations about your arrival. Please use our services to the very fullest. We want to make sure that everyone receives the proper treatment they deserve and we want to get the message clear that you will be safe here. You no longer have to be afraid. You no longer have to wait to get the help you need. We will try our very hardest to solve any kind of problem you inquire. Now then, I repeat to you all…WELCOME!" the doctor happily announced and cheers were heard amongst the crowd.
"Hey…HEY! I see them! MOM! DAD!" Toadiana immediately got excited and ran to her parents, full of relief. Her parents saw her and embraced her, all in tears of joy that they didn't lose each other.
"I'm guessing she lost her parents? That must've been super scary!" Toady McToaderson Jr. said.
"Yeah, she was crying on the way here because they got separated, but it's all okay now!" Toadessa cheered.
"Good! I'm happy nothing more bad is happening now!" Toado Nomaki exclaimed.
"Wait, did you just speak English!? What the heck!?" Toady gasped.
"Uhh, duh, yes! Why?" Toado obliviously replied.
"Because last time we talked to you, you were speaking in a weird language that no one understood. Remember? It was during that time that koopa lady told us that history of those…uhh…jewel things?" Toadessa asked.
"Oh! Yeah! Hehe. I was speaking backwards and wanted to freak you all out. My name is Toado Nomaki, in case you didn't get that from when I spoke backwards. I've mastered the art of backwards language in my free time! Cool, huh?" Toado snickered.
"No. I can think of a billion other better things to do with my free time…like video games!" Toady objected.
Everyone entered into the hospital to either explore, get help with any injuries, get food and drinks from the cafeteria, etc. Bleck, Mimi, Tippi, and Toadiko walked towards checking out the map of the hospital on the wall.
"Daaaaaang, this place is humongous! It's at least triple the size of the previous hospital!" Toadiko exclaimed.
"Heh, at least more people will get good treatment here. I'm so excited!" Mimi shrieked with joy.
"Bleck? Where are you going?" Tippi asked, catching the attention of the other two girls. They saw him wander off towards what looked like the cafeteria.
Bleck looked at something in the room and immediately made an expression of horror.
"No…no! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he screamed and suddenly fainted, hitting the back of his head hard on the floor.
