The broadcast was over at five. Travis looked at Robbie and Ray as they zeroed in on Lily. "Lily. Why weren't you at school today?" asked Ray looking at her and arching an eyebrow. "I had appointments all day. Doctor. Dentist. Eye. You know how my parents are. One day missed to get everything done.." she smiled as she lied smoothly. Robbie nodded. "They were always the model parents of efficency, weren't they?" he asked and shook his head. Travis walked over and stood in front of them. "What's the plan for the after show entertainment?" he asked as he leaned against the table, looking at Lily who was sitting between the other two on the red couch. "Got a movie date with my mom," Robbie murmured. Ray sighed. "Brennan family dinner of curry meatloaf. Mom and Dad are finalizing family portrait schedules.." he grimaced. The two of them smiled at Lily and then Travis and then left, laughing, never realizing that Lily was quiet or Lily didn't seem normal today. Those two were oblivious.

Travis sat down next to Lily. "What's your plan?" he asked softly. Lily shrugged. "Go home and face the music?" she murmured. Travis looked at her. "I'll vouch that you were at school. Want me to walk you home?" he asked softly. "Please.." she whispered softly. He nodded and got up and got his bag and then grabbed hers. "Come on. On the way. We can get something to eat. My treat.." he smiled. She took her bag from him and they left the underground.

On the way, they stopped at Manny's and he got them a pizza to split. Some breadsticks and a bottle of Coca Cola each. He sat down. "So. Tell me about yourself.." he smiled. Lily was at a loss. "Well. You know me so far. I uh. Play music. Write songs. I want to be a famous musician. But that's really all I got. Oh. I have an older sister named Simone. And well. You already know more about home than anyone else does.." she shrugged. She took a bite of her pizza and closed her eyes. It was so good. She loved food, but sometimes she didn't get much. Her mother always wanting her to be the thin little beauty she wanted Lily to be. Travis looked at her and memorized the way she looked, but he was caught in the act as Lily's eyes snapped open. "What are you looking at?" she asked quickly. "Oh . Uh. Sorry. I was just happy to see you enjoying the pizza.." he smiled and blushed realizing he got caught staring at her. "Oh. Well. It's not too often I can have carbs.." she grinned and then shifted her eyes. "Tell me about you Travis.." she smiled.

Travis sat there after she said that and took another bite of pizza. "Well. I'm a lot less complicated then Ray believes me to be. I am a son of two diplomats who happen to be parents second. I'm typically left to my own devices and a credit card at my disposal for food and clothes. They aren't around much. I've lived so many different places. I have no true home. And I feel like I'm a disappointment to them, but in reality. It's just because I exist. I have to be dragged everywhere with them. But besides that stuff. I miss Hong Kong. I miss London. Those were my two favorite places to live so far. But Roscoe is making it's way into my heart.." he smiled. As Lily ate, she listened intently. "Hong Kong huh? Is that where your love of kung fu movies comes from? And you being a Buddhist?" she asked. He nodded. "It's the place I've spent the most time. It's where I wish I had stayed for most of my childhood.." he nodded. "So don't mind the Buddah quotes. I have a few of them, and I try to show off my wisdom now and again.." he finished and took a bite of a breadstick. "Enough about me. More about you.." he smiled.

Lily stared at him and opened her mouth and then closed it again and then went to say something but she stopped. She looked down at her food and blushed. "Sorry. I don't like talking about myself much. I just. I'm your normal average girl. I love to learn and just want to have fun.. nothing too special." she whispered. "On contrary. It is special. Because it's what YOU want to do," Travis interjected. She giggled softly. "Thank you Travis.." she smiled.

Soon as there dinner was over, Travis and Lily were walking home. "Anything you need me to do when we get to your place?" he asked. "Yeah. Just tell them I was at school, and I'll try and smooth it over with Waller tomorrow.." she smiled softly. He looked at her and nodded, hating that he was asked to lie again. But he would do it for her safety.

They walked up the stairs to Lily's house and her father stormed out. "LILLIAN!" he yelled and stopped in his tracks when he saw Travis. "Lillian," he said quieter. "Did you go to school today?" he asked his face getting red. Travis nodded. "She sure did sir, we have almost every class together. And we have a project we will need to work on tomorrow after school. So I came here with her to ask you permission if she could stay out just a little later tomorrow so she can help?" he asked. Lily's father was taken aback. "I guess she can. As long as I know where she'll be.." he muttered. "She'll be at my house sir. I will leave the address with you.." he nodded and handed his address on a piece of paper to Lily's dad. "My parent's wil be there. Their numbers are on there as well. Well. If that's okay. I guess I'll be going home now." he smiled and squeezed Lily's shoulder. "See you tomorrow?" he asked. She smiled. "Yes. See you tomorrow."
