The next day at school flew by quickly, but dragged on so slow at the same time. Lily sat at the underground, smiling to herself. It was the first time in a long while that she didn't get yelled at on her way out the door, or be her father's favorite punching bag the night before. She did however have to answer questions about Travis and what she knew of his parents. Her father seemed pacified for now. That was the main thing. As she was working on her biology homework, Travis walked in. "Hey there stranger. How are you?" he asked quietly. "Oh. For once. I'm doing good. So what was the project we were going to work on today after the broadcast?" she asked. Travis shifted his eyes and smiled. "Uhhh. Music and coffee and Mickey's?" he asked. "I just want you to be out of your house as much as you can. So I know. I know you're safe.." he smiled. Lily looked at him and swallowed hard and got up and threw her arms around him. "Thank you so much.." she whispered into his neck. He hugged her back and smiled to himself but broke away as soon as Ray and Robbie entered the building.
Ray narrowed his eyes. "Uh. What's going on you two?" he asked. Lily shifted her eyes to Ray and then Travis. "He helped me with my bio assignment. He's a lifesaver so I gave him a hug.." she smiled and blushed. Ray nodded. "Uhuh. That's good. Thanks Travis. She's always hated science.." he grinned and smiled as he sat down. Travis shifted his eyes and quickly walked to the tech booth. "Okay. Guys. Ready for today's show?" asked Robbie as he sat down and took out his notes. "Ready as we ever will be.." grinned Lily.
After the show, Travis looked at Lily. "Mickey's and then our project?" he asked smiled at her. She nodded. "Come on guys. I am able to spend a little more time out tonight.." she grinned. Ray high fived Robbie. "Let's get to Mickey's then!" he grinned and led the way. Travis and Lily walked behind the other two and he smiled over at her. "It's good to see you smile.." he whispered softly. She grinned back at him. "Thanks for giving me a reason to," she whispered back and bit her lower lip. He nodded.
At Mickey's, Ray was so thrilled to be hanging out with all his best friends. He bought them all a round of drinks. "Cappucinos for all. Except for Swami over here. Green tea for him. Blech.." he grimaced. "Ray. Don't call me Swami.." Travis murmured and shook his head. "And green tea is great for the digestion. And detoxing.." he added and took a drink and then added some honey to it. Lily couldn't help but keep smiling. She finally had a little more freedom tonight and it was thankful that she did. She enjoyed the conversation. The quotes that Travis would speak. And soon they were all digging into their paninis from Mickey's and loving the conversation. Ray was the first to have to leave as he had to go watch his brother play basketball. Robbie was second. He was acting strangely, but Lily didn't want to question it. Soon it was her and Travis. "So. You don't mind going back to my place? Just in case you Dad calls and checks?" he asked. She shook her head. "I don't mind at all. Since there is no project. Want to watch a movie or listen to music or something?" she asked smiling. He grinned. "Movie would be just fine with me.." he purred.
They left Mickey's and chattered happily on the way to Travis' house. Once they arrived, Lily looked up at it in awe. It was a three story Victorian house. She gulped. "Just the three of you live here?" she asked. He shook his head. "My sister lives here too. I think I've only mentioned her a handful of times. She's never here on the weekends, because she goes to stay with our Aunt because that's when my parents have all the meetings and dinners and what not to go to. Her name is Rachel. She's 9," he smiled. "But a very smart nine year old at that.." he whispered and he pulled out a key and unlocked the door. "What kind of movie would you like?" he asked and set his bag down next to a table in the parlour area. "Anything," she smiled. "Maybe something like a Bruce Lee?" she added. He grinned. "Perfect.." he smiled and took her bag from her and set it next to his. "Rules of the house. You can eat anything you want. But shoes have to come off." he snorted and kicked his off and she did the same. "Now. Where to watch the movie? Living room? Basement? My room?" he asked. Lily thought for a minute. "Basement.." she grinned.
He nodded and rushed upstairs to grab the DVD and headed back downstairs and Lily was standing there looking at family pictures. "Those were taken in Tibet," he smiled coming up behind her. She jumped a fraction and grinned. "You all look so happy..." she grinned. Travis looked at them and spaced off. "Yeah. I think we were.." he reminisced.
Soon they were in the basement, eating popcorn and candy and watching Bruce Lee's martial arts skills. Lily looked over at Travis and beamed. "Thank you for this. Really. I could do this all night.." she whispered. He smiled at her. "Remind me to break you free more often then. I like the company. I'm usually alone on Friday and Saturday nights. So I wouldn't mind." he whispered. Lily thought about that for a moment. "Well if we can convince my parents, maybe I could do this every so often?" she asked. He nodded. "Oh yeah. I wouldn't mind at all. Maybe we could invite Ray and Robbie sometimes too. So they don't feel left out.." he nodded. Lily grinned. "Good thinking. I can see those two getting jealous.." she sighed. The shifted a little closer together, not realizing they had done so and watched the movie.
Soon the movie was over, and Travis was walking Lily home. It was about 8:30om. Lily sighed and looked up at the front door and shook her head. "Back to hell.." she whispered. Travis looked at her sadly. "Yeah. But if you need anything. Text me.. I'll keep you company. Hopefully they'll leave you be tonight.." he whispered. She nodded. "God I hope.." she added and then turned to face Travis and threw her arms around him and held onto him. "I'll see you Monday at school," she whispered and he nodded and placed a small kiss on her temple. "I'll be there.." he grinned and she broke the hug and rushed up the stairs. "See you." he called. She turned and smiled back at him. "You sure will Mr. Strong.." and with that, she walked in the door and braced herself to the yelling that was going on inside.
(Author's Note: Still going strong with the muse. This might be a super long story. Not even mad about it. Love TRILY. But Ray is gonna get jealous soon. More soon!)
