Archer did not sleep well that night. His mind continued to flick to the image of the badger on the staff. It looked just like Ally's palismin, Marma. The only difference was Ally had to be in her late 70's. Alathor was young and spry, thirty at the oldest. His first thought was that it was his mother, but Archer could not help but sense that there was more to it than that. No. Ally was way more powerful than she ought to be.

Slipping out of the bed, Archer made his way across the room and entered a barren hallway. Marma had decided to spend the night with Ally, which meant he was free to roam about the space at two in the morning. Nosing through a couple books, Archer began to dig furiously through Ally's possessions. Still, he found nothing that would answer his questions.

That was when the lights turned on, and Archer swirled around to see Ally, dressed in a pink nightgown, complete with fuzzy bunny slippers walk out. Marma followed at her heels and gave a soft growl in distaste. Archer could tell the woman was annoyed, although she was trying her best not to show it.

"A little early for some reading, dear," she said, her voice an octave lower than expected.

"I- I couldn't sleep," Archer took a step back, "Why does Marma look like Alathor's palismin?"

Ally's face darkened at that. In the most serious tone she could she said, "Alathor is dead. Marma is my palismin."

Archer blinked at that comment. Alathor was quite powerful. For him to be dead was quite a surprise. "How did he die?"

"He gave his life willingly for another," Ally stated, her face revealing a pointy toothed grimace.

"Are you his mom or grandmom?" Archer asked, now wanting all of the details.

"No," she said, quickly pulling Archer to the bedroom, "But I advise you to sleep. It's an early morning tomorrow."

Archer sighed as he ran his fingers through his messy blond hair. His questions had only led to more questions. Laying back in bed, Archer's mind began to wander once more, considering how he may be able to sleuth out a solution. Leaning back on the bed,he groaned internally. The only viable solution he saw was to once again call on wild magic
