Stefan sat down in the chair as Sloan picked up a knife. Elowen's hand shot out and grabbed her wrist.

"Hold on! You never said anything about knives."

Sloan pulled her wrist from Elowen's grip. "We need his blood for the spell."

Stefan frowned. "Wait a second. Tessa didn't need my blood when she linked me to Silas."

"Good for her. We do."

Sloan took Stefan's hand and cut into it with the knife. There was a bowl sitting on the ground, which caught Stefan's blood as it trickled down his palm. Once the bowl was full enough, Sloan dabbed her index fingers into his blood and then pressed her fingertips against his temples. Then, in perfect unison, the travelers started chanting a spell.

Elowen and Liv were still in the bar, their lips locked together as they continued to lazily make out. Elowen finally pulled back, her mouth red and swollen, and caught her breath.

"As fun as this has been, I still have other duties to attend to," Elowen said in a low, almost husky voice, lightly pushing Liv away so she could jump down from the table.

Liv tsked. "Like what? Elena? She's trapped in a freaking dorm. She doesn't need a babysitter."

Elowen playfully rolled her eyes. "That doesn't mean someone still shouldn't check up on her or something."

As Elowen moved to step around Liv, she mimicked her movements and sidestepped with her, staying directly in front of her. Elowen shot Liv a look, who simply grinned in return. Elowen sighed.

"Fine, I won't be a decent person and make sure she's okay."

"What's the deal between you two, anyway? Is she your friend or something?"

Elowen walked over to a bar stool and plopped down on it. "Not exactly. She's my best friend's girlfriend."

"And which best friend is that?"

"Toby."

Liv raised an eyebrow as she came over to sit next to Elowen.

"Toby, as in Tobias Lockwood? Aka your ex boyfriend? That Toby?"

Elowen nodded. "Mm-hm."

"Huh. What are the odds that your ex boyfriend who moved away would come back into your life, become your best friend and date a girl you don't get along with?"

"Pretty high. I mean, what are the odds that I'd run into my ex girlfriend years later at college?"

Liv grinned. "I'd say pretty high. So, what'chu been up to, other than falling off of the face of the earth after you moved and ignoring all my calls and texts?"

Elowen grimaced. "Sorry, I feel really bad about that. I broke my phone during the move and lost all my contacts when I got a new one."

"Uh-huh. Right."

"Really! I swear that this happened, and Jo tried calling Luke once, but it said the number was no longer in service."

Liv rolled her eyes. "That's because Luke is an idiot who dropped his phone in the pool. Wow, we both had terrible luck, didn't we? It's almost like the universe didn't want us to be together."

"Well, the universe works in mysterious ways, because we're here now, aren't we?"

"And you're freshly single. How convenient."

Elowen sighed. "Look, Liv, I was serious when I said I just got out of something. I don't really know if I want to-"

"Relax, I was joking. I'd at least take you out on a date first."

"Aren't you the one who said dates were overrated, and that you should just live in the moment?"

"People change, Elle Belle."

Elowen laughed. "Oh my god. I haven't heard that nickname in years. What did I used to call you?"

"Ollie, which I hated, but it was better than Olive."

"That's right. I remember that you put me in a chokehold the first time I tried calling you Olive."

"Don't act like you didn't do something similar when I tried calling you by your middle name. Don't know why saying Selena was a bad thing. It's pretty."

Elowen sighed. "When I was in trouble with Luis, he used to call me Elowen Selena before he hit me across the face."

"Oh." Liv reached out and grabbed Elowen's hand. "Well, he's gone now."

"He's dead, actually."

"Even better." Liv tilted her head. "You didn't call him dad."

"That's because someone better came along and took the dad title. His name was Alaric."

"Alaric? Not even gonna comment."

"His last name was Saltzman."

"Alaric Saltzman? Dear god. His parents must've hated him. Poor guy." Liv faltered. "Hang on… didn't you say he died?"

Elowen smiled sadly. "Yeah."

"I'm sorry. It sounds like things have been kind of rough for you since you moved."

"Sort of. There's been a lot of supernatural turmoil over the past three years, but…" Elowen trailed off, suddenly getting quiet.

Liv tilted her head. "But?"

Elowen shook her head. "You know what? Nevermind."

"No, come on. I won't judge."

She sighed. "Remember when I said I just got out of something serious?"

Liv nodded.

"Well… that relationship was the light at the end of the tunnel. It was constant and it kept me grounded. It reminded me that everything was worth it, because it was always going to be there." She swallowed. "And now it's not, but... it's for the best."

Liv's hand, which was still holding Elowen's, gave her a light, reassuring squeeze. Elowen smiled lightly and Liv shot her a smile back. The door to the bar opened and they both looked to see who was coming in. Elowen grinned widely when she saw who it was.

"Luke!"

She hopped down from the bar stool and crossed the room to hug him. She pulled back.

"It's good to see you."

Luke was smiling back at her, but it slowly faded.

"Liv told me about Josiah. I'm sorry."

"Yeah, well… there's not much I can do about it."

"Hey, it was actually you I was looking for."

"Really?"

"Yeah, Elena Gilbert told me to find you and say that you need to get to the dorms ASAP."

"Wait. You were at the dorms?"

"Yeah. She kind of seemed a little crazy."

Elowen looked over at Liv. "I have to go."

"I'll come with," Liv replied, walking over towards Elowen.

Elowen nodded. "Okay. Let's go."

xxxx

Elowen carefully entered the dorms with Liv by her side. She stopped where she knew the invisible border was and peered into the dorms, where she spotted Elena by the lit fireplace. She was throwing items into the fire and Elowen felt herself get alarmed.

"Elena?" She called out. "What are you, uh… doing there?"

"I'm cleansing myself of anything Katherine ever touched," Elena replied without looking over her shoulder. "Toothbrush, clothes, my sheets."

"Elena, stop. You're not yourself."

"Well, that's ironic, because I wasn't myself for weeks and yet nobody noticed. Aren't you the one with the power of knowing? How did you not know?"

"She's losing it…" Liv mumbled.

Anger flared in Elena's chest and she sped her way over to the border, stopping in front of Liv.

"I'm sorry if we've met before. I wouldn't remember." Her eyes flickered over to Elowen. "I'm really gonna need you to drop that seal and let me out right now."

Elowen shook her head. "No. Are you insane? Do you not see the state that you're in? It's too dangerous. You'll hurt someone."

"You think it's too dangerous, Elowen! If you don't drop the seal right now, I will kill you!"

"Elena, stop!" Elowen shook her head. "This is the virus talking. It's all in your head. Look, Katherine wanted to destroy you and it's working. Do you want her to win? Because that's what's happening."

Elena grabbed at her head, fisting her hair in her hands. "Oh my god. Oh my god, you're right. Elowen, I can't… I can't. I'm letting her win! I'm not gonna let her win."

Elena turned her back on Elowen and Liv, seemingly to calm herself down, but instead, she grabbed a nearby broom, broke it over her knee and launched it across the room, where it impaled Liv in the stomach. Elowen's eyes widened as she caught Liv, who was crumpling to the ground.

"Oh my god! Liv!"

Blood pooled in Liv's mouth and dripped down her chin. She looked up at Elowen and tried to open her mouth to say something, but couldn't.

"She'll die if I don't give her my blood to heal her," Elena told Elowen. "So, you're going to have to drop the seal. Otherwise, she's going to bleed to death. It's your choice."

xxxx

"Why is this taking so long?" Elowen asked as she watched Sloan continue to dig into Stefan's head to find his doppelganger. All around them, the travelers chanted in perfect unison, fully giving Elowen and Caroline the creeps, but they stuck it out for Stefan.

"Just a little deeper…" Sloan mumbled, seeing a brief flash in her head of Stefan's doppelganger. "I see him. He's in a city."

"He's in Atlanta," Stefan said, gaining Elowen's attention.

"He's what?" She asked. She paused as a deep, almost vague memory unlocked in her head. "Oh my god… he's a paramedic, right? Right?"

Caroline frowned. "Elle? Are you okay? You don't look so good."

Elowen wasn't paying attention. She shook her head. "His name is Tom. I remember now." She turned to Caroline. "Care, he knew Luis."

Caroline's eyes widened. "What?"

"Keep going!" Sloan instructed to the travelers. "Push harder!"

The travelers started chanting louder, causing the fires around them to grow in size. Elowen and Caroline looked around before turning to Sloan.

"You said you know where he is!" Caroline yelled. "What are you doing?"

"We're not done," Sloan replied. "The link isn't strong enough. We need more information."

Elowen shook her head. "You're pushing him too hard! He's going to lose everything. Stop!"

"We need the doppelganger dead. Louder!"

Elowen, not willing to chance anything, grabbed the knife Sloan used earlier, came up behind her and held it to her throat. Sloan looked over her shoulder at her.

"If you hurt me, they'll kill you."

"Tell them to stop," Elowen ordered. "There's a way we can all get what we want."

xxxx

Enzo stopped in front of the boarding house and Elowen hopped off of his back. She held her hand out.

"Give me the cure for Damon and get the other one to Elena. I got it from here."

"As you wish, beautiful."

Enzo pulled out the correct antidote and slapped it into Elowen's palm. She rolled her eyes.

"Stop calling me slightly inappropriate nicknames. That's Damon's thing."

Enzo smirked. "Well, I figured, you two are broken up now, and someone's gotta do it."

"I think I've already said this once, but I don't like you, so cut it out."

"Aw, was it something I said?"

Elowen shot Enzo a look.

"Look, I get it. You made friends with Damon in the 50s and now you just want your buddy back, but he's not the same person he was back then. He likes to act like he is, but he's not, and you barging in here when he was vulnerable and enabling him immediately put you on my shit list. We don't mindlessly kill people around here, not unless there's a reason to."

"You mean like killing Stefan's doppelganger?"

"Exactly. He had to die so we could get this stupid vampire eating virus out of our lives. It's a tragedy, but it needed to happen."

Enzo studied Elowen for a moment before saying something.

"What happened to you?" He asked, taking Elowen off guard.

She blinked. "I'm sorry?"

"Something tells me you weren't born being so tolerant of death. It wasn't Damon's doing, either. I know what his work looks like and this isn't it. Someone as young as you shouldn't be dealing with this. You're, what? 19? I've no idea what this town did to you, but it certainly wasn't pretty, was it?"

Elowen scoffed. "Look, as fun as this has been, I don't feel like being psychoanalyzed by a century old vampire who's been locked away from civilization for over 70 years. Just get the other antidote to Elena."

Enzo saluted her. "Roger that."

Elowen turned to walk up the driveway as Enzo sped off. She made her way inside and down to the cellar, where Jeremy and Matt were. She held up the antidote.

"I come bearing gifts."

"Elena?" Jeremy asked as he went to unlock the cell door.

"She'll be fine."

Jeremy nodded and pulled open the door. Elowen walked in and sighed loudly, stopping in front of Damon, who was sitting against the wall. He looked up at the sound of her coming in.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, little witch?"

Elowen cracked a small smile. "Little witch? You haven't called me that in awhile."

Damon smiled back. "I figured it was time to bring it back."

Elowen held up the antidote. She walked over to Damon and stabbed the needle through his shoulder, injecting it through his arm. She pulled it out and tossed the vial onto the ground.

"So?" She asked. "How do you feel?"

Damon shrugged. "Fine."

"Jeremy!" Elowen called over her shoulder. He popped his head in. "You have any more of Stefan's blood?"

Jeremy nodded.

"Bring it. I want to test if this antidote was legit."

Jeremy disappeared and reappeared a second later with a small, plastic cup in his hand. Elowen took it and held it in front of Damon's face.

"Anything?"

Damon shook his head. "Nope. Not a thing."

"You promise?"

Damon held out his pinky. "I pinky swear on it."

Elowen rolled her eyes and passed off the cup back to Jeremy.

"Get him out of these things."

Jeremy took the cup and left the cell again before coming back with a key. He unlocked Damon's shackles and they fell to the floor. Elowen turned to Jeremy.

"You and Matt can leave. I got it from here."

Jeremy nodded again and left. Damon got up from the ground and rolled his shoulders back.

"Ah, does it feel good to be free."

Elowen shook her head with a chuckle and left the cell, making her way back up the main house. By the time she entered the living room, Jeremy and Matt were already gone. Damon was right behind her, walking over to the drink cart to pour himself a drink.

"God, did I miss bourbon."

Elowen shot him a grin and he shot her one back. He took a sip and opened his mouth to break the silence.

"I heard what Enzo said to you."

Elowen's grin slipped from her face.

"He was right, you know. This town changed you. Part of me feels like it was my fault."

Elowen shook her head. "No, it wasn't."

"Wasn't it? This all started when I blew into town three years ago, looking for a woman who didn't want me. I flipped tables upside down and left no stone unturned. The tomb vampires getting out was on me."

"No, that was the spell going wrong. That wasn't you."

"Maybe it was the spell, but it was something you wouldn't have done if it weren't for me. It all began with me. I'm sorry."

Elowen sighed, forcing a smile onto her face.

"Goodbye, Damon."

"Bye."

Elowen's duplicate disappeared, leaving Damon alone in the house by himself.

Toby was rushing his way through campus, towards the dorms, when he saw Elena stumbling her way around. He didn't have time to question how she got out, because he was already making a beeline for her.

"Elena?" He called out when he reached her.

Elena looked over at the sound of his voice and sighed in relief.

"Oh my god. Aaron, are you alive?"

Toby shook his head. "Elena, no. It's me."

"No, no, I'm good now," Elena said instead. "I'm good now! I thought I killed you. I didn't kill you! You're right here! You're still alive!"

Toby grabbed onto Elena's shoulders and lightly shook her. "Elena. Hey, it's Toby. You're hallucinating."

Elena blinked and shook her head to try and clear some of the fog away. Toby pulled out a water bottle from his jacket pocket and handed it over.

"Here. Drink this. It's some of my blood."

Elena snatched the water bottle from his hands, quickly uncapped it and guzzled the blood down. When she was finished, she crushed the bottle and threw it to the ground.

"She won," Elena said deliriously. "Katherine won."

Toby shook his head. "Don't say that."

"Look at me, Toby! Look at me! The plague of Katherine Pierce lives on. She's turning me into something that I'm not. I mean, look at me. I'm a monster. Liv? Elowen and Bonnie's friend? I almost killed her! And my friends… I want to kill my friends. I think I want to kill my friends."

Toby gently grabbed onto either side of Elena's face.

"Hey, it'll be okay. Elowen texted me. She's on the way with the antidote right now. You'll be okay."

Elena pushed Toby's hands off of her roughly.

"No, it's not okay! It's not okay, Toby! I… I killed Aaron Whitmore."

Toby shook his head. "No."

"I keep seeing him. He keeps popping up everywhere. I'm hallucinating that Aaron's around."

"Elena! Elena, look at me. You didn't kill Aaron Whitmore. Damon did."

Elena looked up at Toby, confusion swimming in her eyes.

"Wh-What? Why? Was it because of the virus? Did Damon need to turn him?"

Toby shook his head again. "It was before he was infected." He sighed. "Remember when I said that Elowen broke up with Damon?"

Elena nodded.

"Well, I guess she said something to him that he didn't like and he lashed out by killing Aaron. It was Damon. It wasn't you."

Elena stood there in silence for a moment before her eyes caught something behind Toby.

"Why is Enzo here?"

Toby turned around and sure enough, Enzo was standing there.

"Sorry to interrupt," he said. "I have the antidote."

Toby frowned. "Where's Elowen?"

"She got caught up, but she sends her regards. Catch."

Enzo tossed the antidote towards Toby, who caught it.

"I went through hell for that. It's a shame to part with it. Well, if you'll excuse me, my work here is done."

Enzo turned and left, leaving Elena and Toby alone.

Veronica sat in her room at the apartment, doing her spring break homework, when there was a knock at her door. Veronica looked over and saw Adriana and Angel entering the room. Janus pushed past their legs and trotted over to the bed before jumping up and making himself comfortable. Veronica went back to her work without another word. Adriana and Angel shared a look before Adriana sighed and came over to sit on the edge of the bed with Janus.

"Ronnie…" She called out, hoping to gain her attention. "You have to talk to us."

"There's nothing to talk about," Veronica replied shortly, keeping her eyes trained on her desk.

"Of course there is-"

"What do you want me to say, huh?" Veronica snapped, turning to look at Adriana, who jumped at the volume of her voice. "Do you want me to admit that I was stupid enough to fall for the girl who ruined everyone's lives?"

Adriana opened her mouth, but she was left speechless. Angel slowly came over and sat in front of Veronica.

"You aren't stupid," he said softly. "Sometimes, we can't help who we fall in love with."

"I didn't love her," Veronica mumbled.

"But you could've." Angel sighed. "Look, the three of us never experienced what Katherine did to everyone else. We only heard stories and not in great detail, either. We were all told that she was this horrible person who only cared for herself, but it never went deeper than that. It wasn't until after she died that Bonnie told me Katherine was responsible for Caroline becoming a vampire, or that she tried to offer up Elena as a sacrifice to Klaus. We were left to make our own opinions on her and that's just what you did. There's nothing wrong with that."

"Everyone else probably hates me now. I mean, I had this secret affair with their mortal enemy and then tried to help her run off in Elena's body. I'm pathetic."

Angel frowned. "You're not pathetic. Where's this all coming from?"

Veronica sighed and averted her eyes from Angel's.

"Mystic Falls was supposed to be different. It was supposed to be this fresh start where nobody knew us, and…"

"And?"

"It feels like you two created this new life for yourselves and went your separate ways, and I was left with nothing. I mean, you have Bonnie and Adri has Jeremy. It just feels like we don't hang out anymore and it was lonely. Katherine actually paid attention to me, and... I guess to some degree, I liked her. I really did, and now that's gone, too."

Angel and Adriana shared a look before Adriana took over the conversation. She reached out and grabbed one of Veronica's hands, causing Veronica to look up at her.

"I'm sorry it feels like we left you behind. That was never our intention. We will always be the unstoppable trio, but it can't be like that forever."

"I know, which is why I feel so stupid. We're 20. We're allowed to have our own lives, but… just… seeing you two move on without me, when I have nothing… it hurts."

Adriana frowned. "You don't have nothing. You have us, and Elowen."

"That's not what I mean."

Realization dawned on Angel.

"Oh."

Veronica sniffled. "Yeah."

Adriana looked between Angel and Veronica.

"What? What am I missing?"

Angel sighed. "She means that she doesn't have a Bonnie or a Jeremy. Or a Stefan, or a Damon, or a Josiah. But she had Katherine."

Adriana suddenly understood.

"Oh. Hey." Adriana brushed some hair from Veronica's face. "You will find that somebody."

Veronica laughed humorlessly. "No, I won't, but that's okay. I've made peace with it. I don't really deserve it, after everything I've done."

"Hey, of course you deserve it. You can't rush things like this. It always happens when you least expect it. I get being lonely. That's how I felt back in Atlanta. All the boys wanted you, not me, and the one time I actually thought I found it, he was using me to get to you. You handled it in the worst way possible, but you were looking out for me. Then I met Jeremy. And he wanted me. I thought it was some joke at first, and we're still working through the fact that he's not 18 yet. We're not perfect and we're still getting to know each other, but… I really like him. You'll get your chance, Ronnie. I know you will."

"I'm sorry I made you feel that way," Veronica whispered, causing Adriana to blink in surprise. "I know I don't really apologize when I should, but I'm working on that... and I'm sorry about Emmett. I should've apologized for that years ago."

"I forgave you for that ages ago." Adriana looked over at the desk. "Why don't you forget about your homework for a second, and we order takeout and watch a movie?"

Veronica gave a small smile. "I'd like that."

"Great, because I'm starving," Angel said loudly, trying to lighten the mood.

Veronica rolled her eyes. "Stop being dramatic. You're a vampire now. Since when does food taste the same?"

"Don't ruin the joke. I was trying to be funny."

"Ha, ha. I'm on the floor."

"Shut up."

Adriana laughed and the three of them stood to leave the bedroom. Janus jumped off the bed and followed them out. Veronica's door closed behind them with a soft click, leaving the room empty.

xxxx

Elowen walked Liv to her dorm room, after Elena fed her some of her blood and stormed off. Toby texted Elowen and told her that Elena was cured and safe, much to Elowen's relief. Liv's shirt was covered in blood, but otherwise, she was okay. Liv looked down at the blood strain and laughed.

"I guess I should donate this shirt to Elena's fire cleanse."

Elowen sighed. "I'm really sorry about all this. I guess I should've warned you that things get a little crazy when you associate yourself with me."

Liv grinned. "Eh, it's okay. I survived my first vampire attack. How cool is that?"

Elowen rolled her eyes. "Not as cool as you think. Are you sure that you're okay?"

Liv waved her off. "I'm fine. I promise. Just remind me not to die in the next 24 hours."

Elowen and Liv stopped in front of Liv's dorm room.

"Well, this is me." Liv turned to Elowen. "Look… I know you said that you just got out of something and the answer to a date is a hard no, but… can we at least still hang out?"

Elowen grinned. "Of course we can. You're still a friend."

Liv grinned back. "Great. Kissing is completely optional, by the way, but much appreciated."

Elowen laughed. "Okay, well, I should go. This version of me's work is done."

"Right. This is a duplicate. That is a cool power, obvi."

Elowen playfully rolled her eyes. "Bye, Ollie."

"Catch ya later, Elle Belle."

With one last smile, Elowen's duplicate disappeared.

Elowen and Caroline went over to one of the empty trains where Stefan was to make sure he was okay. He looked around, confused, and then up at Elowen.

"Hi. Elena? Hi."

"Oh my god…" Elowen breathed in shock before Stefan started laughing.

"Kidding!" He pointed at Caroline. "Rebekah, right?"

Caroline reached over and hit Stefan across the arm.

"It was funnier the first time!"

"Did it work?" Stefan asked once Caroline was done assaulting him. Enzo appeared at the entrance of the train.

"The engine's running, you two. I appreciate the call. Let's go do this thing."

Stefan frowned. "Did I miss something?"

"Sloan was going to fry your brain to kill your other you," Elowen explained. "I wasn't about to let that happen, so… Caroline and I may have volunteered to help Enzo deal with it."

"You mean… kill him?"

Nobody said anything, before Stefan spoke up again.

"Guys… I can't let you-"

"They only want one alive, remember?" Caroline pointed out. "It's you or him."

"Alright, fine. Well, I'm coming with you."

Elowen shook her head. "You can't. How's Tom going to react when he sees his twin randomly show up in his life?"

She turned to Caroline.

"Can you give us a minute?"

Caroline nodded. "Of course."

Caroline moved and jumped down from the train cart, grabbing Enzo and pulling him away with her. Elowen sighed and sat next to Stefan. She was quiet for a moment before opening her mouth.

"I'm not the same girl you fell in love with three years ago. When you first met me, I was 17 and still adjusting to not living in Atlanta anymore, without an abusive father looming over me. I didn't believe in killing people. I didn't even know how to kill. I wasn't harnessing the power of 100 dead witches, my brother wasn't dead and my biggest problem was just trying to make it through high school without… hurting myself. My point is, you don't know me anymore."

Stefan reached out and grabbed Elowen's hand. "I know that. I'm not even the same person I was 6 months ago."

"6 months ago, you were trapped in a safe at the bottom of the quarry."

"See? My point exactly. Being in that safe changed me as a person, just like what you've gone through would change you. It's only normal."

"Yeah, and becoming another Katherine is normal?"

"What? No, you're not becoming Katherine."

"Aren't I? Playing two brothers, having almost everyone wrapped around my finger, manipulating my way through my problems. Sound familiar?"

Stefan sighed. "You weren't playing us."

"Wasn't I? I mean-"

"Stop. Just listen. You might not be the girl I fell in love with three years ago, but you stayed being someone who was worth loving to me. You didn't become evil, or a manipulator. You became strong and independent. You learned to stand your ground, to stay in control of your life and your decisions. I watched you grow from a scared girl who was still trying to figure herself out, to a woman who became confident in who she was as a person. I loved you then and I love you now. Damon and I knew what we were getting into when we agreed to share you. We knew that we would never have all of you, and that we would experience your love in different ways. I would get things Damon would never get in his wildest dreams and I knew he would see parts of you that I would never see. You can't play somebody who agreed to the terms and conditions of being played with."

Stefan paused.

"I understand where you're coming from, and I appreciate that you're looking out for me and did what you thought was best when you thought you were hurting me. That's what makes you different from Katherine. She would've taken what she wanted and left. She wouldn't have cared, but you did. If staying broken up is what you want, then I'll respect that, but if you'll let me, I'd really like to get to know who you are now, not who you used to be."

Elowen gave a small smile. "You're too good for me, you know that?"

Stefan chuckled. "Funny, I always thought it was the other way around."

Elowen's smile slipped away, and she sighed.

"I'm guessing Damon told you about Liv?"

At Stefan's nod, Elowen continued.

"Let me figure out what I want to do about her first. All of these old feelings are resurfacing and I need to decipher what it all means. I've already cheated on you once. I never want to do that again, ever."

Stefan thought this over for a moment before speaking again.

"You figure out what you need to figure out, and then you let me know. Sound like a plan?"

After waiting a beat, Elowen nodded her head. Stefan cracked a grin.

"Perfect."

Stefan leaned over and pressed a gentle kiss to Elowen's forehead. When he pulled away, he looked over his shoulder.

"You should go. Don't want to leave Caroline and Enzo waiting."

Elowen blew a raspberry. "You're right."

She stood up and Stefan let go of her hand. She moved to jump out of the train before pausing and looking back over at Stefan.

"Stefan?"

Stefan looked over. "Yeah?"

"Thank you."

Stefan smiled. "You're welcome."

Elowen turned away and hopped out of the train cart, heading over to where Caroline and Enzo were, and disappeared from sight.

Author's Note: so, originally Elowen wasn't going to know who Tom was, but when I remembered Luis was a surgeon the lightbulb went off for her to have at least known of him since there was the medical professional link. I also entertained the idea of having Veronica know Tom instead since Sofia (her mom) is a nurse, but decided she might want a break from everything after Katherine died. Adriana or Angel could've easily stood in for her, but honestly they wouldn't really have had a reason to go with Elowen and the others to see the traveler's so it didn't happen. The idea was that Tom and Sofia dated and that was how they knew him but it also would've required extra time and energy to rework that whole plot into the chapter and not only was that a lot of work, it was also unnecessary. I didn't want to add more than I should or more than I needed to. Anyway, enough of that ramble lol. Hope you guys enjoyed!
