Season 1: Episode 12

The music filled the hall, decorated wonderfully for the occasion which made Violet feel even more overwhelmed, she shifted slightly as she smoothed down the lilac knee length dress, feeling more than a little uncomfortable in it.

"Wow, this is incredible, they really went all out, huh?" Minerva commented from next to her.

She was also clad in a dress, bright red with one shoulder strap and reaching down to her knees too.

"I um, yeah." Violet replied.

Minerva looked at her, eyebrow quirked. "Yet, something's clearly bothering you."

Violet mumbled. "I'm just not used to this."

"Oh, well, we'll have to fix that somehow." Minerva teased with a laugh.

Violet flushed but but nodded slowly. She looked around, trying to spot any of the others. She didn't have to look long as at that moment she saw Becca approaching, clad in her own dress, a black ankle length spaghetti strap number with a slit up the left side to the top of her thigh.

"Ah, hey you guys, having fun?" She greeted them with a wink.

Minerva grinned and replied. "I know I am, how about you Vi?"

Violet managed to smile and replied honestly. "Yeah, I mean, it's kinda awkward for me, especially in this dress, but, I am enjoying it here."

"That's great, well, we're not the only ones. Excuse me a moment, I'm gonna go spy on Sarah and John and make sure things go right for them." Becca replied with a laugh.

She made her way off as Violet and Minerva couldn't help but smile, hopeful for Sarah.

As this was going on, Sophie couldn't help but laugh as she collected her drink, along with Kyle.

"What's so funny?" Kyle asked, gazing at her with wonderment.

He couldn't help but be enamoured, her lustrous red hair was elegantly braided, light make up drawing attention mainly to her sparkling eyes, her dark blue backless ankle length dress hugged her figure perfectly.

"I was just thinking back to when we told my mom and dad about us." She explained. "They were so shocked that I'd already found a boyfriend."

Kyle laughed at that too, grinning. "Ah yeah, I remember meeting them. They were a little...on edge."

Sophie shrugged. "Well...It's just because I was bringing a boy home. They get protective you know."

"For you, but not your sister?" Kyle noted.

"Well, Minerva's not likely to bring a boy home." Sophia explained.

Kyle nodded in understanding. "Ah, got it...well, anyway, let's get back to enjoying the party huh?"

They nodded and, spotting a friend of theirs, David, they got to talking, before spotting Becca who quickly indicated for them to stay quiet, they followed her gaze and smiled upon seeing what she was looking at. It was Sarah and John, while he had asked her to homecoming and she had accepted and both were excited for it, but they knew that this was something they had to make sure worked out well, especially given Sarah's circumstances with her father and his typical over-protectiveness.

Sarah couldn't believe her luck as she toyed with the calf-length skirt of her pink dress, she was here, at homecoming, with John, enjoying the music as John returned and smiled warmly at her.

"Hey, looks like you're enjoying yourself." He said happily.

Sarah grinned. "I am, thank you John, really…"

She knew that she was really lucky to be here. Naturally when she had told her father about John asking her to homecoming, he had reacted as she feared. He had been on edge, almost going as far as to try and forbid her but she stood her ground and finally, after meeting John, Carlos had given his grudging blessing for them to go and now here they were.

"It's no trouble. Your dad means well Sarah, you know that." He said. "I care about you, I wanted you to be happy, that's why I did my best to talk with him."

Sarah laughed softly. "Whatever you said, it worked, he seemed more...open to the idea of us than I imagined."

John gave a sweet smile at that and Sarah felt her heart flutter, the two of them lost in each other's eyes for a moment before they paused only briefly before their lips finally met, sharing their first kiss, much to the joy of those watching, especially Becca. They weren't the only couple sharing their first kiss either, for anyone who glanced over, much as Sophie did at that moment, would have seen the same thing happening between Violet and Minerva.

Violet was confused, she was kissing Minerva, this was supposed to be a wondrous moment, but she felt, confused. It wasn't that she didn't like it, she did, but it didn't feel quite...right. When they parted Minerva gave her a glowing look that Violet tried her utmost to return, but Minerva's expression seemed to indicate that she wasn't succeeding. Then, as if to punctuate the problem, Violet's phone vibrated, she checked it and swallowed, she was now able to recognize the number. The message was short and simple.

"Danger is closer than you think, be wary, talk soon."

"What the…?" She murmured.

"You've gotta be kidding, seriously?"

She started and looked up to see Minerva glaring at her.

"You're actually meeting with someone else?"

Violet shook her head. "Minnie, it's not-"

"Now you're even lying." Minerva snapped. "Unbelievable, I can't believe you'd do this."

"But-"

"Fuck this!" Minerva snapped.

With that she turned and stormed off, Violet could only watch in shock. She wasn't sure how long it was when suddenly another voice spoke.

"Vi."

She gasped and looked to see Becca standing there, looking at her worriedly.

Violet bit her lip. "I, I just, I never thought…"

Becca shook her head and did her best to comfort her.

Witnessing the argument and it's aftermath, Sophia was wide-eyed, horrified.

"No way…" She gasped. "This, oh my God, I never thought Minnie would, this is crazy-"

Kyle gently wrapped his arm around her and did his best to calm her. "Don't worry, something will work out, we'll figure it out."

She looked up up at him, smiling tremulously. "You, you think so?"

He nodded reassuringly and she managed a small smile. Meanwhile, having spent time together enjoying herself with Gabe, Brody smiled widely as she finished her drink, smoothing down her mid-thigh aqua blue dress.

"This has been an incredible night." Brody admitted. "At least, until…"

She bit her lip, looking over at Violet.

Gabe nodded sadly. "I know, luckily she has you guys. Becca's already doing her best to comfort her."

Brody smiled, knowing he was right. Then suddenly something unexpected happened.

"Brody…"

She looked and her eyes widened when she saw Mitch there, looking awkward. Gabe was instantly wary, watching him closely.

"Yes?"

Mitch shifted his feet, rubbing the back of his next. "I just wanted to say, I'm sorry about Marlon. He...it was me he was talking too about what he planned to do. But I thought he was full of it, I never imagined he'd be capable of…"

"You wouldn't have let him get away with it, if you realized that, right?" Gabe replied, calming down as he noted Mitch's behaviour.

"Y-yeah…" Mitch admitted.

Brody smiled softly. "It's okay, I get that...I forgive you."

Mitch looked relieved hearing that and thanked her before things calmed down again and soon Brody and Gabe joined Sarah and John, Kyle and Sophie and many other couples on the dance floor. David meanwhile went to raid the snack table while Becca did her best to comfort Violet, Minerva had in fact left the hall but not the venue as the night wore on.

Meanwhile, outside the venue, parked in the most shadowy part of the car park was a car, inside the car a figure sat in darkness watching the windows carefully, taking special note of the four girls.
