Guest: Sorry that I'm responding to you over a month later, but hey, I appreciate the feedback, and even agree with some of what you said. As you have seen, the story went through a crapload of changes along the way of writing it. Some of the stuff in this story I was making up as I went along and I probably was trying too hard at times to show off, which is why so many chapters in recent months have been "soap opera-like", and not only that, but I personally was getting a little bored of having this story be, like, 70% humor and 30% heavy drama during the first half. I felt like this story was going to get stale if I were to continue down that route and I was kind of afraid I would've ended up running out of ideas and jokes to keep the humor going...but it looks like it kind of sort of ended up going down that direction anyways, LOL. XD I'll explain everything about my viewpoints and my writing and thought process of this story once we reach the end, because I'm telling you right now, there's A LOT of changes that occurred to this story, as I'm sure you and presumably many others have seen or guessed. But, again, thanks for the professional feedback, and no, you didn't come off as negative, you have a right to express your opinion and concerns!

That being said (and I'm adding onto this because I forgot to in my review response), I disagree that everyone should be "used to" people dying now. When I have certain characters die, I usually only show the reactions of the ones that were close to the characters, because no matter how many people I have die, it makes sense to have specific characters be more emotional about the characters' deaths that they were close to. IMO, that's just kind of how it works in real life too, so I wanted to reflect that in this story. Also, having everyone be "emotionally incontinent" IS a little bit of the goal here. You gotta remember, these characters are practically in a war to save their world, and in a war, you lose many people, get hurt, do things that you never would think of doing previously, and end up developing somewhat of an incontinence/PTSD over time. It's also because I'm building up these characters to become stronger and more fearless in the final battle. Oh, and as for everyone having the same dialogue, I also somewhat disagree on that. To me, Flurrie, Goombella, Bowser, Morton, Peach, Toad, Toadette, Yoshi, Birdo, Goombario, Fire Bro, Koops, Vivian, Boshi, Dimentio, Doopliss, and probably a few others I can't think of right now all have pretty distinct dialogue compared to some of the other characters, though I can admit that my writing styles tend to blend in for many characters without even me realizing it until way after the fact. Hope that makes sense, and again, your criticism is appreciated!

RESPONDING TO YOUR MARCH 31 REVIEW: I literally just now saw your review as soon as I uploaded this chapter, so I'm coming back to edit this in, but you're very welcome, and I appreciate you sticking with this story for so long despite so many zany things happening. Cheers!

WARNING: The following chapter contains high amounts of violence, blood, and gore, along with a high amount of characters dying, and a high chance that you'll hate me for killing off a character you like combined with the possibility that you'll be experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions in this chapter.

It was 8:30 AM. People were waking up and eating breakfast, many of them thankful to see another day without any chaos happening around them.

The cafeteria was crowded with folks getting their food in for the start of the day. Bowser and his family managed to snag a table for themselves, though everyone was gossiping and giving looks towards them based off of yesterday's events. It didn't help that they were having an obvious heated conversation.

"So, you guys are 100% serious about splitting up after we're done with Tatanga? You really think I'm just gonna let that happen!?" Bowser asked in disbelief.

"It's for the best, dad. We can't keep on fighting like this constantly. It's not gonna stop after all this crap is finished," Morton said.

"Yeah, because I'm sure as hell not going through another fight again. It's so damn exhausting and annoying," Larry added irritatedly.

Bowser sighed greatly and rubbed his temples in frustration. "Fine. We'll discuss this in detail AFTER we beat Tatanga and everything goes back to normal. But, until that time comes, can we please just ATTEMPT to get along? I know I don't help things with my attitude as well, but please, you guys...no more fighting. Keep it together."

Toad approached the table a little nervously. "Hey, you guys. Is it okay if I talk to Bowser Jr. privately real quick?"

Bowser Jr. looked a little surprised at this, and so did everyone else. He looked to his dad to give him the OK.

"Uhh, sure. It's not bad, is it?" Bowser asked.

"No no! Nothing bad at all! I just REALLY need to talk to him about something!" Toad urged with a little excitement.

Bowser was intrigued by Toad's reaction, curious as to what it was. He nodded at them both. Bowser Jr. got up from the table and followed Toad towards the exit.

"Um, Toad? What's going on? You're making me kinda nervous!" Bowser Jr. spoke.

"Soooo...I heard about what happened yesterday. Toadette told me everything...and I mean EVERYTHING," Toad said with a smile. Junior wasn't sure if he should be confused or nervous at this.

"Ummm...o-okay? Wait. Did she mention the...um...kiss?"

Toad snickered a little and nodded. "Oh yeah."

"Oh! Um, look, Toad, it just, you know, happened because I was really emotional and she was right there being so kind and supportive and-"

"Junior! It's okay. Calm down. You're fine. I just wanna say this to you...good! I'm glad you two are romantically involved," Toad said, which calmed his nerves greatly. Junior laughed a little in embarrassment and major relief.

"Oh! Cool! Thanks. Yeah...I haven't really told anyone about it yet. I kind of wanna keep it to myself for right now," he said.

"That's fine. I just wanna let you know that I support it. My sister has told me about how you helped her vent through her depression, and that she really liked how you listened and understood her. That's something that she really needs in her life, and I'm really glad that you're helping with that!" Toad said with much gratitude.

This made Bowser Jr. blush because he liked Toadette a lot. "Aw, thanks! Yeah, after the shooting, she and I kind of went on a bit of a spiral downwards, and as weird as it sounds, it felt comfortable to share our emotions about it. We just have a really good connection, I think."

"Yeah, I think my sis needed someone to relate her trauma to. I think that's why she avoided me at first about it because she didn't think I would understand what she went through. But, I'm really glad she has you to talk to as well. It means a lot to both of us!" Toad exclaimed with glee.

"It means a lot to me too. So...can we be friends then, officially? Is that okay?" Junior shyly asked. Toad snickered again.

"Of course we can! I got your back," he smiled, and so did Junior, feeling superb about everything right then and there.

BANG!

Everyone in the cafeteria screamed and turned their heads back towards the exit and lobby.

"WOAH! Was that a gunshot!?" Junior shrieked.

Daisy sat down up against the wall on the second floor hallway, clearly in deep thought.

"Hey, there you are!" Luigi called out, exiting a nearby room, and walking over to her. "You okay? Why are you sitting out here for?"

"Hey…" she said with some sadness in her tone. "I just needed some more space. That room was getting overcrowded. I swear, there are more people in there this morning than there were when we fell asleep last night."

"Oh...okay. But, something tells me that that's not the only thing that's bothering you, am I right?" Luigi asked while sitting down next to her.

"Yeah, you'd be right," Daisy said then took a long pause before continuing. "It's just...when you went into that coma when that man from Freezeflame came and raised hell, I truly thought I was never going to see you again. I thought we were over, that our story was done. But, you're alive now, and I'm so damn happy for that, but…

I just keep thinking about the possibility of you being gone. I try not to. I try to push it down, but...it just really scares me about you dying a-and I don't know what I'd do if that were to happen!" she began to frantically cry. Luigi brought her into his arms and cried a little with her.

"I know it's scary...but, look at it this way, Daisy. We've made it this far, and I survived that attack. We're gonna make it to the end! I promise. So, don't think about that, okay? I know it's hard, but we'll make it through. We'll get the rest of the gems, kick Tatanga's ass, and live happily ever after. It's gonna be just like all those times we helped Mario take down Bowser from destroying the kingdom," Luigi spoke with a sense of hope, which calmed her down a little.

"Yeah...I can't let it get to me. We're a power couple, you know? No matter what crap comes at us, we always seem to overcome it somehow," she said with a little smile as she wiped her tears.

"That's the spirit! And yes, we ARE a power couple! I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together," Luigi said with pure excitement and they kissed, bringing Daisy down to his level of positivity. He knew exactly how to make her feel better.

"I love you, Luigi. I'm so glad that I'm with you. Being together makes things feel a little easier to handle," Daisy said, rubbing his shoulders and staring longingly into his eyes.

"Hehe, yeah, I-"

BANG!

"What the!? Daisy...was that sound what I think it was!?"

Birdo and Yoshi were on the rooftop, snuggling with each other under a blanket.

"Mmmm, haven't had that good of a sleep in a long time!" Yoshi giggled.

"Yeah, this feels so nice, being like this again, plus having no one to bother us out here. The stars were so gorgeous last night too. I think it's been years since I've looked out at the stars at night!" Birdo happily spoke, not wanting to get her hands off of her lover.

"Yeah...not as gorgeous as you, though!" Yoshi giggled again and kissed her. Birdo busted up laughing a little.

"Oh god, you had to put in a cheesy one-liner, didn't you?" she said, playfully rolling her eyes.

"Oh, don't pretend like you don't enjoy it!" Yoshi said flirtily and winked at her, making Birdo laugh even more.

"Oh Yoshi! I'm so glad my memory is back. I can't imagine how awful it must've felt for you seeing me like that. I must've acted like a completely different person, huh?" Birdo asked, remembering her and Boshi kissing in the closet, which made her joy fade away.

"Don't worry about it, honey. You're back now and that's all that matters! This is the happiest I've ever felt in a long time. Although, having to see Fire Bro later on won't help with that, but...whatever," Yoshi grumbled about having to see the psychopath so he and everyone else can know what he knows.

"God, I still can't believe he was faking an identity this whole time. He's smart. He knows how to play the game well, which makes him the most dangerous person around us right now," Birdo pointed out.

"Well, he can't be TOO dangerous considering he's locked in a cell. I'm just more worried about what else he's been hiding from us, like...I wanna know if he has some dirt about Mushroom Corporations!" Yoshi exclaimed.

"What do you mean exactly?" Birdo asked.

"I mean, Mushroom Corporations seems like a high tech agency, kind of government-like. Remember seeing all their fancy equipment? Plus the fact that they have so many rooms in there, they could be doing top secret experimental stuff! Now, tell me this, do they really expect us to believe that Fire Bro, or Konnor, would be working for a company like that? You know, they must've done some in depth background check on him before letting him work for them, right!?" Yoshi theorized, which boggled Birdo's mind a little, but it quickly made sense right to her.

"Wow...yeah, you're right, but...what are you trying to say then, Yoshi?" she asked.

"I'm saying that there's something really weird up with Mushroom Corporations! Like, REALLY freakin' weird! Add on to the fact that Kylie literally admitted to us that they kidnapped us in our homes and held us there for a few days while Tatanga began blasting the city!" Yoshi added.

Birdo got an unnerving feeling running through her body, which made her sit up and think about it more. "Shit...you're right. I mean, I kinda figured they were at least a little shady when Kylie told us that, but...fuck! Yeah, there's no way a company like that would've let someone so mentally unstable work for them without having to do an extensive background check!"

"EXACTLY! So, I've been thinking...we need to talk to Mario about this. I'm pretty sure he suspects something is up with them as well," Yoshi said.

"Yeah...let's do that…" Birdo said as the memory of her and Boshi kept infiltrating her mind.

"You okay, Birdo? Hey, I didn't freak you out too much, did I?" Yoshi noticed Birdo kind of spacing out.

"Oh, no! It's not that, it's just...ugh. Yoshi, I have to just come out and tell you this. When my memory was still gone, Boshi-"

Bang!

"Woah! That sounded kind of close!" Yoshi shrieked.

"That sounded like a gunshot!" Birdo immediately started to panic.

"And...it sounded like it came from inside the hospital...crap, COME ON!" Yoshi yelled, and the two darted towards the door and back inside.

Arfur was driving their company van to the hospital with Kylie tagging along. He gasped and suddenly slammed on the brakes.

"Woah! Arfur, why did you-" Kylie yelled but was cut off when she immediately knew why he did that.

From a block away, they could see that there was a monster truck parked right outside the hospital with a few Koopatrols in it. The feeling of panic and fear quickly swept over the two.

"A monster truck...yesterday, Mona talked about Koopatrols driving a monster truck and trying to kill her…" Arfur recalled, not taking his eyes off of the vehicle.

"Oh god...no no no! We're not letting this happen again! We need to think of something FAST!" Kylie shrieked.

"I've got an idea. I'm parking around the back, and we're going in the back way. They definitely have the main entrance manned," Arfur said, then drove towards the back of the hospital and parked the car along the sidewalk.

"Grab a gun. Get your bullet proof vest on. We gotta go full force on them, because if they destroy this hospital as well, so many people are going to be screwed," Arfur commanded as he got a handgun and his vest.

"Definitely, but if that did happen, we could always transport them to that other hospital in the city. All hope wouldn't be completely lost," Kylie said, loading up her gun.

"Kylie, think! That other hospital would become even more overcrowded than this one already is! Plus, there are less resources and space in that one. It wouldn't work out too well," Arfur replied hastily.

"Yeah, you're right, dumb thing to say. Sorry. I just don't understand why we couldn't have this place under guard from our company. I mean...I'm pretty sure we have the resources to-"

"STOP," Arfur shushed her up. "You know why we can't. It's protocol. We have to have a level of selfishness for the good of our job. It's shitty, it's wrong, it's frustrating...but you already know why we can't, Kylie."

Kylie looked at him disapprovingly but nodded her head. "I know...it's just hard to accept some things that I can't change."

Bang!

Kylie and Arfur whipped their heads towards the hospital.

"FUCK! It's started! LET'S GO!" Arfur yelled, then the two bolted to the hospital.

"Excuse me, ma'am? Can you help me with something?" a koopa asked to Lakilulu. She stopped in her tracks towards the cafeteria and faced him.

"Oh! Uhh, what do you need help with?" Lakilulu asked politely.

"In this closet, I'm trying to get down a box, but it's kind of heavy. Can you help me real quick?" he asked.

"Oh, of course!" Lakilulu obliged and followed him into the nearest supply closet. He walked over to where the giant box was, and it was located on a somewhat high shelf that the koopa could barely reach.

"Okay...you ready?" Lakilulu asked, grasping the box with the koopa.

"Yep, on the count of 3. 1...2...3!" he said, then the two lifted the box a little and carefully set it down.

"Whew! Wow, that was kind of heavy! What's in there, by the way?" Lakilulu asked, reaching to open the box.

The koopa didn't respond...however, Lakilulu did hear the all too familiar sound of a gun clicking.

She froze instantly at that sound, then slowly looked back up at the koopa. Her fears were confirmed by the menacing look on his face with a gun pointed at her.

"What...why are you…" Lakilulu could barely get the words out because she was so struck by fear.

"Don't do anything stupid. Do what I say or else you're gonna cause a shitload of trouble for everyone else here!" he spoke with such anger that made Lakilulu quiver with fear but also curious to know why the hell this guy was doing this.

"Please...just...don't...I…" she started to cry, but the koopa cut her off without a care for her emotions.

"Go outside and into the lobby. Don't try to run because I'm going to follow you closely," he ordered.

Lakilulu nodded a little and steadied herself to begin exiting the room. So many thoughts were running through her head that she couldn't think straight and had no idea what to even do to get herself out of this situation.

"Wh-wh-why are you doing this? Just tell me why!" she cried as she slowly headed to the door.

"You'll soon find out. Keep going," he stated, putting the gun into his pocket.

"T-Tatanga is back here, isn't he!? Oh god…" Lakilulu tried to hold herself together from having a complete breakdown.

"Not necessarily. Keep going and don't turn around," he replied.

Lakilulu exited the supply closet and headed to the left. Everyone was chatting amongst one another, having no clue of the hell she was going through.

"Don't even think of making a scene. You don't wanna put the rest of these people here in danger, now do you?" taunted the koopa.

Lakilulu couldn't even think of a response. All she could think of was what this guy was planning to do.

She eventually reached the lobby. She stopped in her tracks and tried to control her breathing. She turned her head to the koopa a little, and saw him nodding at someone from across from her. She immediately turned her head towards the direction of where the koopa was looking and screamed when she saw a koopatrol without his typical headgear on standing in the entrance.

BANG!

The bullet shot through her back and exited her chest. Blood splattered everywhere. Screams immediately filled the air. The sound of the gunshot combined with the screams rang and echoed throughout the entire hospital.

More koopatrols arrived at the entrance, blocking people's escape. Everyone on the first floor was in immediate panic mode and ran all over the place, screaming hysterically. They knew that danger had arrived at their supposed safe haven once again.

Mario and the gang ran to the epicenter of the panic and screams, and joined in on the panicking and screaming when they saw the bloody mess on the floor.

"NOOOOOOOOOO! LAKILULUUUUU!" Lakilester screamed and ran to her body, shaking her to see if there was still a tiny bit of life left in her. But, she remained cold and still.

"No...she's...gone…" Toad cried, holding onto Toadette.

"HOLY- Katia, look away!" Kenneth screamed, shielding his daughter's eyes.

"What the hell!? Oh god...no, not today...oooogghh…" Clawdia cried a little, covering her mouth as if she was about to puke, and held her other hand on her stomach.

"M-Mom? Why are you holding your stomach like that!?" Katia asked.

"No reason! Just, um, god, we can't be here! This place isn't safe now! We need to find a way out!" Clawdia demanded and led her family out of the lobby.

"Oh...OH MY GOD! YOU!" Daisy screamed, pointing to the koopa who committed the crime, who was now aiming the gun at everyone in the vicinity.

"Haha, yes, ME! Now, everyone...SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN BEFORE I BLOW SOMEONE'S HEAD OFF NEXT!" he yelled, getting the entire floor to quiet and simmer down.

"Oh, fuck, not again! We're not as prepared for this unlike last time!" Dixie screeched, knowing exactly where this was headed to and memorizing the previous awful blowout.

"WHY DID YOU DO THIS!? What the hell is this all about!?" Jojora yelled.

"Good question! I'm about to lay it all on the table for you all right now," spoke the rough-sounding koopatrol without his headgear on. Him and many other koopatrols walked to the center of the lobby.

Mona walked a little bit towards them with widened eyes. "Oh my god, you're the guys from the monster truck! What was the point of killing her for!? If it was me you really wanted, then you should've shot me instead!"

"Hey, it's the big chested chick that escaped us! How ya doin' sweetie pie?" laughed the crazed-sounding koopa with the gun. Mona looked at him with total disgust.

"I gave him the order to kill whichever one person he wanted. I presumed it would've taken forever for him to find you specifically, so...lakitu lady there had to take the first hit," said the rough koopa.

"And, actually...oh! Lookie there, it was that pink bomb chick who killed Kooparius! Not the big breasted lady, but hey, you're both dumb bitches for fucking with our guys, and now look at what you've caused!" yelled an urban/edgy-sounding koopatrol.

"Oh, fuck you! You were going to kill her, what the hell was I supposed to do!? We protect our own from creeps like you!" Bombette spat, getting all fired up.

"Now now, little girl, calm yourself. We don't want another bullet to go flying in here, now do we?" teased the rough koopatrol. This pissed Bombette off even more, turning her whole face red now.

"Hey, wait a second! I thought you guys said that there'd be NO killing of anyone at first! What gives!?" yelled a koopatrol who clearly looked and sounded younger than the others.

"SHUT UP! One more protest out of you and I'll blow your fucking brains out!" yelled the crazed koopa, aiming the gun at his head.

"Shit, man...was that your girlfriend he killed? Goddamn. Sucks, but hey! Someone had to take the fall to show y'all that we mean business," taunted the urban/edgy koopatrol. Lakilester looked away from Lakilulu's body and gave him a death glare.

"I...I hope you all ROT IN HELL!" Lakilester screamed and was about to lunge at him, but Parakarry pulled him back.

"Lakilester, DON'T! We don't wanna lose you too! You're gonna give them exactly what they want if you react out of rage!" the mailman advised, hoping to calm him a little.

Mario walked to the main koopa, the rough-sounding one. "What the hell is this? You guys trying to shoot this place down like Tatanga did before?"

The koopa chuckled and shook his head. "Oh, Mario...I'm actually honored I get to be in your presence and speak with you! The hero of all the land, stuck in yet another fucked up predicament. Tell me, on a scale of 1 to 10, how screwed up is your mind at this point in the game?"

"Quit bullshitting around and tell us what you want, goddamnit!" Professor Frankly roared, prompting some surprising looks from a few.

The koopa sneered at him. "Huh. Old man has got some guts telling me off like that. But...fair enough. I'll get to the point then. We're taking over what's left of this city. We're acting separate from whatever stupid shit Tatanga is doing. There's no way he'll succeed in taking over the world. He's in WAAAYYYYY over his head if he thinks his plan is actually gonna play through exactly the way he wants it to."

"Those are big words coming from someone who wanted to work under him," Toadiko commented.

He scoffed at her and shook his head again. "The only reason why some of us wanted to work for Tatanga was because we'd be guaranteed protection if his plan were to work. I mean, let's face it, everyone! This is the biggest takeover plan that we've all witnessed to happen in YEARS! However...after Tatanga decided to go to his island to do whatever he needed to do there, some of us decided to stay behind and take whatever we could find in the mess he left behind. Money, jewelry, free food and drinks, and cars...as some of you may have seen outside, we managed to find this neat monster truck. Sooooo...because of the incident following Mona and the pink bomb girl killing our friend, Kooparius, and finding out that this is where you're all hiding now, this leads us to no choice but taking over this hospital and kicking all of your asses out!"

People immediately began to freak out and whimper when he said that final part.

"Oh no! B-But we'll have nowhere safe to go! Please don't do this!" Toadessa sobbed.

"And...so...you guys are just gonna assume we're gonna let that happen then?" Pauline asked, rolling her eyes.

He laughed at her smartass response. "Oh, of course not. I saw the fight you guys put up at the last hospital! I was there watching in the dark. To be fair to you guys now, Tatanga made an absolute fool of himself! I mean, really, just going in there without a proper PLAN!? He must've assumed that you guys were all defenseless. Now, see, that's exactly why I don't think Tatanga's plan will fully work out. He wants all the power he can get but doesn't think of the rationale for why he WANTS that power in the first place. He just goes in, tries to kill everyone, but then gets surprised and all emotional when his plan didn't work!"

"Well, to be also fair, all of his guys had guns, and...well, we only have a few on us!" blurted the younger koopa. All the other koopatrols shot him dirty looks.

"HEY! You are literally ASKING to get shot right now, you dumbass!" screamed the urban koopa.

"Yeah, way to make us look weak now! God, we seriously should've killed you with your brother!" yelled the female koopa. The younger koopa looked away as if he was about to cry.

"Okay, despite my...err…'acquaintance' over there giving away our status of weapons, I can assure you we are well equipped for a probable showdown. We may not have the number of guns that Tatanga did, but we got the strategy. What good is power when you don't have the perfect plan to execute it? Not only that, but we've got this WHOLE hospital surrounded. There's plenty more of us outside, so escape isn't as easy as you think it will be!" said the main koopa.

"My god, this is absolutely insane! Do you not realize what kind of sick, psychotic game you're trying to play here!?" Toadinya cried with her husband Toadoro holding her back to calm her down a little.

"So, it seems like you know how this is gonna go down, so why not just skip all this annoying and drawn out talking and cut to the battle then!?" Wario annoyedly asked.

"Good point! HOWEVER, I'm going to be a little bit fair here to you all. I'm going to give Mister Mario here a choice. Only he will choose, and no one else. Comes with being the kingdom's superhero, don't you agree, Mario?" asked the main koopa in a taunting manner.

Mario gave him a smug look and crossed his arms. "What are the options?"

"The first option is to evacuate the hospital. Get every single person out of here and no one else has to die. Then, our gang moves into here and this will be our base of operations. We'll leave you all alone and you'll never have to deal with us ever again!" he provided. Various remarks of disgust and distraught were heard.

"Do you know what the hell you're doing? There are certain people that NEED this hospital for their medical issues! Is this really the hill you wanna go die on?" Bowser angrily asked, wanting him to re-analyze his conscience.

"Ha! WOW. You of all people seriously wanna talk about caring for what others are dealing with!? You sure that's the hill YOU wanna die on!?" the crazed-sounding koopa laughed and reproached back to Bowser.

"Well, unlike you bastards, I'm actually trying to turn my shitty life around. Change happens," Bowser snarled.

"Wow. Never thought I would see the day where King Bowser Koopa aligns himself with the goody two-shoes people of the kingdom. I'm honestly a little afraid to ask what made you change your attitude around!" the main koopa exclaimed.

Mario sighed impatiently. "Okay, enough, what's the second option!?"

"Fine. The second option is...we go to battle. If that were to be the case, then I can tell you right now, you guys won't have it as easy as you did last time. As I said, we've got the strategy down. We will NOT hesitate to kill anything here in our paths...that includes the men...the women...the children...the doctors...the nurses...and everything else in between," he said, prompting more fear and anxiety into everyone else.

"I suppose there's no point in telling you how wrong and immoral all of this is, is there?" Peach tiredly spoke, being completely done with having to deal with so much bullshit from their enemies.

The main koopa smiled and shook his head yet again. "Ah, there you go, princess. You're getting it now. People like us, when we have our sights set on doing something, we go do it. No amount of therapy talk will get us to change our minds so quickly."

"HOLD ON! You guys told me you were just gonna kill Mario's group and that's it! Why do you keep changing the plans!? This isn't right!" cried the younger koopa.

"Kody, will you shut the fuck up already and just do what you're told!?" yelled the female koopa and then smacked him.

"My goodness, and here I thought this would be a safe haven from beasts like these. Hate to say it, but everywhere Mario and his friends go, they just attract trouble to them and everyone else who happens to be near them!" Toodles spoke with pure distraught.

"Because they're the ones who take action to kill the assholes trying to destroy our world. Don't act like it's their fault that this shit keeps happening!" Koopie laid it down on her.

Daisy tapped Luigi's arm and whispered to him, "I'm gonna use my Timeslow ability in a second here. I'm not gonna forget like I did last time."

"Okay. But, I'm guessing the plan is to just go all out on these guys?" Luigi replied, getting increasingly nervous.

"Yeah, I mean, what else can we do? We didn't have much time to prepare for this!" Daisy said.

"So, here's what I'll do now. Mario, I'm gonna give you 5 seconds to make a decision. Your choice will determine whether everyone gets out of here alive, or whether they get killed. 5," he said with a look so smug that he truly felt like he was going to win this one.

Daisy rushed over to Bleck and whispered to him, "Hey. I'm gonna do my Timeslow ability in a sec. Can you help out with your magic!? Just attack them however you can!"

"Yes, of course. I'm not as powerful with magic as Rosalina, but I won't let them destroy this place!" Bleck replied, not taking his eyes off of the koopatrols.

"4."

Mario clenched his fists, eyeing all the koopatrols down. People began to shriek and panic once again, looking to Mario for any semblance of help.

"I want all of you to find somewhere to hide NOW," Bowser demanded to his kids.

"What!? But, dad, I can help!" Larry protested. "I managed to-"

"This isn't up for discussion! Go! I won't even think of risking your guys' lives in this!" Bowser cut him off. The kids nodded in fear and worry for their dad, and they ran off.

"3. You're cutting it close, Mario!" laughed the main koopa.

"Mister Mario, please do something! We don't wanna die!" Toady McToaderson Jr. cried.

"Hey, it'll be okay! I can tell he's got something up his sleeve!" Toado Nomaki assured him.

"2! Come on Mario, don't let your people down!"

Mario turned his head to look at Daisy. She nodded at him.

"1! Okay, you've-"

"TIMESLOW!" Daisy screamed before they could try anything.

The Koopatrols looked like they had frozen in place.

"AAAGGGHHH! ATTACK...THEM!" Daisy roared in pain, collapsing to the floor from the sharp side effect of the spell. Many of them charged towards the koopatrols. The crowd screamed and looked away from the bloody battle.

Mario and Luigi attacked the main koopatrol, punching him in the jaw, knocking him down, taking off his headgear and bashing him in the head with it multiple times until his face was mangled. Bowser came in, picked up the crazed-sounding koopa and slammed his body against a wall once...twice...three times, splattering blood everywhere. Yoshi and Birdo ran up to another one, with Yoshi kicking him to the floor and Birdo then stomping on his throat, crushing it. DK grabbed one by his neck and twisted it. Bleck was about to throw a magic spell at another one of them, but then saw something horrifying that caught his eye.

"WAIT, LOOK AT THAT! A GRENADE!" he screamed, pointing to a grenade that was flying slow-motion in mid-air in the center of the battle. Someone had to have thrown it before Daisy did her spell.

"SHIT! SOMEONE GRAB IT AND THROW IT OUT OF HERE BEFORE THE SPELL WEARS OFF!" Pauline screamed.

Parakarry flew on over to grab it, but just as he was inches away from even touching it, everything went back to normal. The grenade flew past him and landed on the ground.

"NO! EVERYONE, GET AWAAAAYYYY!" Parakarry screamed in horror, then did everyone else the second they saw that the inevitable was going to happen.

BOOM!

The explosion blew many nearby objects and people away in different directions and set many on fire. Many more people ended up getting knocked down because of it. The ceiling directly above the grenade explosion collapsed. Peoples' ears were ringing from the atrocious noise and smoke immediately filled the floor. People screamed even more as more koopatrols ran in and began raising hell. Gunshots were heard along with noises of glass breaking and slicing of sharp objects.

The female koopatrol got up from the panicked crowd pushing her over and looked back at the epicenter of all the mess and was shocked at her buddies' dead bodies all over the floor.

"Wha...HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN!? How in the fuck did they get killed so quickly!?" she yelled, completely blindsided by everything that just happened in the last minute from her perspective.

"Agh! FUCK!" Dixie cried out, hitting her head against the wall due to the explosion.

"Dixie, take my hand!" Tiny yelled, reaching out to her to help her up. "We need to grab a weapon to kill these guys right now!"

"Oh god, oh god! I don't even know where to fucking go! THESE GUYS ARE EVERYWHERE!" Dixie screamed and started to uncontrollably cry.

"Sis, you need to calm down! Just follow me because I- AGH!" Tiny suddenly screamed as a sword came out of her chest, splattering her blood all over Dixie.

"OH MY GOD, TINYYYYY! NOOOOOOO!" Dixie screamed, feeling her heart sink at that moment along with her body being frozen from immense shock at the unimaginable atrocity that just happened right in front of her. She immediately saw that it was a koopatrol who had snuck up behind her and stabbed his sword through her back.

"Woah, that was your sister!? Well...don't feel too sad then, cause I'll have you join her!" he mocked. Dixie immediately screamed in pure rage and lunged at him. The two wrestled a bit, trying to do any kind of damage to each other possible. Dixie eventually bit as hard as she could into his neck, making him wail out in pain, then grabbed his sword and slit his throat.

"Ugh...bastard! Tiny…" Dixie tried to calm her breathing and then went over to her sister, grabbed her, and dragged her body with her anywhere she could get out of the chaos.

Kenneth, Katia, and Clawdia froze in horror when they heard the grenade explosion and saw the crowd of people screaming and running to them.

"Oh my god! Mom, dad, what do we do!? Those koopas are gonna kill EVERYONE!" Katia cried.

"We...uhh...just RUN! Just find ANY exit and run as far away from here as possible!" Kenneth struggled to answer, looking everywhere for an escape.

"Ow! Goddamnit, these people are bumping into me and stepping on my feet!" Clawdia yelled as the crowd rushed through her family. It became so chaotic that Clawdia ended up getting knocked down and people were stepping all over her.

"AAAAAHHHHH! KENNETH, PLEASE HELP ME! HEEEEEEELP!" she screamed and cried.

"GRAB MY HAND! OVER HERE!" yelled Toadette, who had seen her and reached for her. Clawdia grabbed her hand and she helped pull her over to the side where the elevators are.

"Keep hold of me! I'm gonna try to get us in the elevator!" Toadette yelled. She saw that the button for 'up' was lit and was gonna use the elevator for safety from the rampant crowd and koopatrols.

She then saw a couple of wild koopatrols slicing at people nearby with a katana.

"Oh crap! COME ON, ELEVATOR!" Toadette cried and kept banging on the up button. Clawdia managed to finally stand up, but when she did, one of the koopatrols sliced at her stomach with the katana.

"AAHHHH! OH GOD!" she cried out, holding her stomach. Toadette kicked the koopatrol as hard as she could in his stomach, which knocked him to the floor.

The elevator finally opened and Toadette brought her in and she hit the 6th floor button and kept pushing the close button.

"Whew...we're safe for now...I lost my brother back there, though...I don't know how I'm going to find him!" Toadette cried as she tried to control her breathing.

"Oh...oh god...no...this can't be happening right now!" Clawdia panted, now clutching her stomach, and backed up against the wall. The elevator now closed and was moving up.

Toadette turned around and looked at the wound on her stomach. "Oh no...um, h-hey! It's gonna be okay! It's not a big wound, so it should be treatable!"

Clawdia quickly shook her head. "No, it's not that! Agh, it's...I'm pregnant, but my insides have been feeling crazy all day, and...OH! OH MY GOD!"

"Wh-wh-what!? What's happening with you!?" Toadette shrieked.

"AAAGGGHHHH! NO! NO NO NO NOOOO! I CAN'T LOSE THE BABY RIGHT NOW!" Clawdia screamed while she slid to the floor. Toadette knew what was going on when she saw blood coming from her private region.

"Oh my...uhh, look, it'll be okay! We just gotta get somewhere safe and then we'll- AH!" Toadette yelped, almost falling over from the elevator coming to a halt.

"Uggghhh...why did we stop!? WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW!?" Clawdia cried.

"I-I-I-I-I don't know why we stopped! Oh god, I don't know what to do! What do I do!? WHAT DO I DO!? HEEEEEEEELP!" Toadette screamed and repeatedly jabbed the red emergency button and began to hyperventilate.

"Ohhhh...hey...you hear that noise? What is that!?" Clawdia said, looking up at the ceiling.

Toadette quieted her hyperventilating to listen. There was some noise that sounded like someone rumbling around on top of the elevator.

"I-I hear it! Oh god, what if it's them!?" Toadette cried and started hyperventilating again.

The ceiling panel opened up and the person was indeed a koopatrol. Toadette and Clawdia shrieked at his appearance. The koopatrol laughed at them.

"Sweet dreams!" he playfully said then closed the ceiling panel.

Toadette widened her eyes. "Wait! What does he mean by that!? WHAT IS HE DOING!? PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! PLEASE!"

Then, the unthinkable happened. Toadette and Clawdia felt their skin jump out of their bones as they flew a little in the air and felt the sensation of as if they were on a rollercoaster. The elevator was falling. The two screamed for mercy and cried, with their lives flashing before their eyes.

CRASH!

The koopalings locked themselves in one of the Day rooms. They all stood nervously facing the door, ready for anything that could happen. It didn't help that they could hear the people screaming and crying outside the room, which only added more fear and adrenaline to them.

"That was definitely an explosion! What if dad is dead!? What if they come here and just shoot us down!? WE DON'T HAVE ANY PROTECTION!" Lemmy cried.

"There's a window here. Let's break it open and escape this way! We're gonna have to watch out only for ourselves if dad does end up being killed, and ESPECIALLY if Mario and his friends get killed as well!" Morton stated, grabbing a chair.

"No! Did you not hear those guys earlier!? They have the whole hospital surrounded! What if as soon as we go out there, we end up getting shot down?" Wendy recalled.

"Seriously!? WHAT IF WE GET SHOT DOWN IN HERE!? And how do you know that he didn't just say that as a fear tactic? There's no way that there are as many of those guys here like the last time! We have to take our chances!" Morton argued frustratedly.

"Fuck...maybe I shouldn't have gotten rid of Rosalina's magic…" Larry said to himself, thinking of whatever he could do to protect his siblings with DK's strength that he copied.

"What'd you say, Larry? What was that about Rosalina?" Iggy asked, bringing all attention to him.

Larry sighed, wishing he hadn't even said anything. "You guys know about that Mimic ability that Gekikara gave me, right? Well...ever since Rosalina went berserk with her magic, I decided that I didn't want any part of it if that's how dangerous magic can be. So, I decided to copy DK's strength into me. I think I'm just as powerful as dad now!"

However, almost everyone else didn't look pleased with this.

"Why would you do that for!? Magic is the best thing that can kill enemies and protect us! You didn't even think about talking about this with anyone else either?" Ludwig reprimanded him.

"Yeah! Just because Rosalina went all dark and psychotic with her magic doesn't mean that you will!" Iggy added.

"Larry, do you not trust yourself with the magics or something? From what I remember, Rosalina became addicted to using magic, then Waluigi was killed right in front of her, which eventually led to her going all 'dark' and whatnot. To me, it almost sounds like she became a drug addict!" Morton said.

Larry sighed in frustration yet again and shook his head, annoyed at Morton because he didn't seem to understand. "Morton, listen to me. What you just said is exactly why I gave up Rosalina's magics. What if one of you guys got killed, or dad? What if I became addicted to using magic!? I wouldn't wanna go down the same route that Rosalina did, and that's why I gave it up. You can hate me all you want and be annoyed at my choice, but at the end of the day, it was my personal choice along with it being MY ability that I was granted from Gekikara."

"Larry's right, you guys. We can't force him to do anything he doesn't wanna do, and we can't risk him going dark like Rosalina did. Also, he couldn't have known that this was gonna happen, so just back off of him for once!" Bowser Jr. came to his defense.

A loud bang at the door scared everyone to death.

"SHIT! They're coming! What do we do!?" Iggy shrieked.

"I'm gonna stand by the door and be the first to attack since I'm the strongest now! The rest of you, grab something to attack with and prepare to fight!" Larry commanded and stood to the side of the door.

"Larry...this might be it for us!" Wendy said as she began to sob. Bowser Jr. held her hand as another bang was heard on the door.

"I know. I'm gonna do my best to take these guys down. The second you guys see a clearing, RUN. If you have to attack them, then do so, but by all means, run as fast as you can and find dad," Larry instructed. The other koopalings nodded.

A bullet shot through the door handle, startling the koopatrols. Then another one. More bangs were heard as they were successfully and finally getting the door open.

"I...I love you guys! No matter what happened with all of us, I just love you guys!" Ludwig cried, shaking heavily.

"Me too! Fuck all the horrible things we said to each other! WE'RE FAMILY TILL THE END!" Iggy added and got in a battle stance.

"Well...let's go out like the badass koopa family we are then!" Morton stated.

The door slammed open and the second Larry saw the koopatrol step foot in the room, he charged. He roared, grabbed him by the neck and threw him at the wall, dropping his handgun. Larry swiped the gun and was about to shoot him, but then felt a horrible pain in his right leg. He screamed and looked down, seeing a dagger that was stabbed into it by a koopatrol that snuck up behind him. Morton and Wendy screamed in rage at the sight and pounced on him, with Morton smashing the chair into him and Wendy repeatedly punching him in the face.

Larry removed the dagger from his leg and was about to shoot the koopatrol again that he threw from before, but that koopatrol bashed him in the jaw. The koopatrol tried to snag the handgun from Larry's hand, but the two wrestled around for it. Iggy came in to help by throwing a glass vase right in the koopatrol's face, knocking him over. Larry got the gun and shot the koopatrol in the face.

"OH MY GOD, LOOK OUT!" Bowser Jr. screamed, pointing to a blue flash grenade and a smoke grenade that had been thrown in the room by another koopatrol. They all had little time to react as both grenades exploded only a few seconds after Bowser Jr. pointed it out to everyone. Smoke immediately filled the air as all the koopalings fell to the floor from the reverberation and began coughing from the smoke.

Lemmy could barely make out Bowser Jr. was right next to him. He grabbed him and dragged him to where he thought the doorway was. His ears were ringing and he was beyond terrified.

"DADDY! DADDYYYYY! I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO! I CAN'T SEE, I CAN'T HEAR!" Lemmy squealed, running around aimlessly still holding on tight to Jr.

"AHHHHHHHH! LET GO OF ME YOU FUCKERS! STOOOOOP!"

"Wendy, is that you!? Who was that!? Iggy!?" Lemmy shouted, now looking everywhere. Just as he could begin to see again, another explosion from a flash grenade went off, scaring him again and dropped to the floor. He started crying and then screamed as he felt someone grab him.

"It's okay, it's okay, it's me!" Bowser said, picking up both him and Jr. "Where are the others!?"

"In the room!" Bowser Jr. answered. "But, dad, I don't know if-"

"SHIT! WE GOTTA GO!" Bowser shouted, feeling a grenade being thrown at his leg. He ran as fast as he could through the thick smoke without having even the slightest clue of where exactly he was.

BOOM!

Kallan woke up to loud booming sounds and noises of people screaming. He immediately raised his body and looked towards the door.

"What the hell is going on out there!? HELLO!? Any staff in here!?" he called out and looked all around, only seeing patients that were out cold or ones that looked petrified.

"It's happening again...those goddamn loonies are here trying to invade us! We might all die this time!" yelled a female Noki, quivering in her bed.

"Shit. I'm not gonna just sit here and wait this out!" Kallan declared and ripped off all the IV cords off of him, wincing in pain each time and holding his chest. He looked for his stun gun, snagged it, and headed to the door. He opened it slowly, peeking out only to see people running frantically and screaming at the top of their lungs. He prepared himself for anything that was out there and kicked the door open, only to be met by a grenade that was thrown right near his feet.

"FUUUUCK!" he leaped back into the room, slammed the door, and jumped onto his bed.

The explosion happened, blowing the door down. Some of the patients in there screamed in fright. Kallan immediately got back up and went back out there, jumping around the debris and small fires and looked all around the hallway.

"Kallan!?" yelled a familiar voice. He turned around and saw that it was Peach and Mario heading towards him.

"Hey! What in the fuck is going on here!? Is Tatanga here!?" he asked.

"Not quite, but they're some of his former henchmen! They're trying to kill everyone here!" Peach informed.

"My brother and the rest of our friends got separated from us when shit went down in the lobby. They could be anywhere, but I'm also focusing on killing as many of these fuckers as possible!" Mario added.

"Damnit! Well, I'll help however I can, just lead the way and I'll follow you guys!" Kallan exclaimed.

"AGGHH! LOOK OUT!" Peach screamed and was about to shove Kallan away, but it was too late. A thrown axe hit right into Kallan's right shoulder, making him roar out in extreme pain.

"OOH! Direct hit!" cheered the koopatrol that committed the act.

Mario immediately became pent up with rage. He swiped Kallan's stun gun and made a charge for the koopatrol.

"Come on, plumber man! Show me what you got!" hollered the koopatrol.

The two clashed. The koopatrol headbutted into Mario's chest, knocking him onto some debris. Mario kicked him in the face, then struck him with the stun gun to his throat. He let out a wild scream and then stopped moving. Mario then removed his headgear and struck him in the eye with the stun gun, letting out another scream from him. Mario dug the stun gun deeper into his eye until blood started gushing out and the koopatrol stopped moving.

"Peach...errggghh...get the axe out of me!" Kallan grunted as he struggled to stand himself up.

"B-But, Kallan, I…" Peach didn't want to cause him more pain.

"Just do it! Don't worry about how it will hurt me!" he demanded.

Peach nodded, pulled herself together, and pulled the axe out as hard as she could. He let out another cry of pain when she got the axe unstuck from his shoulder.

"FUCK! Oooogghhh….keep the axe...you two save yourselves…" Kallan said as he barely managed to reposition himself towards Mario's direction.

"What do you mean by that? We're not gonna leave you here!" Peach said.

"Yes, you are! Look!" Kallan pointed at the end of the hallway where two more koopatrols came in and faced the three.

"Kallan, you don't have to do this by yourself! We can help!" Mario pleaded, knowing exactly what he was gonna do.

"No. Both of you go! Find your friends! The kingdom still needs their hero and princess!" Kallan said as he cracked his knuckles.

"Thank you! We won't ever forget this!" Peach said as her and Mario ran off.

Kallan motioned with his hands for them to come to him. "COME ON, YOU FUCKERS! LET'S DO THIS SHIT!"

The koopatrols charged at him and as soon as they got close enough, Kallan grabbed both of their throats and slammed them down. One of the koopatrols clawed his back, letting out more screeches of pain from him, while the other one set off a grenade as he tried to kick Kallan off.

"Ha! Sorry, buddy. Looks like you're going down with me. Sayonara!" Kallan laughed, not at all feeling scared of his impending death since it was going to be two less assholes for everyone else to deal with.

Boom.

"GET. OFF. MEEEE!" Goombella barked as she held against a koopatrol who was about to impale her with a spear. Pauline came to the rescue by kicking him in the stomach, rolling him over and hitting the wall. Goombella snatched the spear and stabbed him in the eye with it.

"You okay? Did he hurt you at all?" Pauline asked as Goombella got the spear out of his eye. She turned around and saw that Wario and Mona were with her, along with the little kids, Toadessa and Toado.

"I'm fine, what about you guys? Have you seen any more of them!?" Goombella asked, trying to brush off her near-death encounter.

"Yeah, earlier, but we had to get away because it was getting too crazy back there. We don't even know if the rest of our friends are still alive!" Mona exclaimed.

"And it doesn't help that this hospital is a fucking maze! Where the hell are we even at!? Is there a damn map somewhere!?" Wario impatiently asked, looking all around for one.

"I-I-I'm so scared! I don't know where my mommy and daddy are! Are we all gonna die!?" Toadessa sobbed and held onto Mona.

"Why do the bad guys always ruin everything? It's never gonna stop, is it!?" Toado also sobbed.

"Hey, kids, it's gonna be okay! Just stay close to us, alright? We'll figure out a way to get out of this alive AND find your parents AND beat them all!" Mona sweetly assured.

"GRAAAAHHH!" a scream was heard near the group along with the sound of a door slamming open.

"AHHHH!" everyone else screamed, with Wario aiming his stun handgun at the noise.

"Oh, shit! Don't shoot! It's just us!" Spike yelped, holding his hands up with his purple blinding gun. He was hiding in a janitor's closet along with Kooper, Bow, Lakilester, Flurrie, Toodles, and Professor Frankly.

"Oh, good. So, this is all completely fucking crazy, isn't it!?" Pauline shouted.

"Huge understatement there! It seems like they're all around us! How the hell are we supposed to get rid of them this time? At least last time, a lot of us had guns, but now, we're not as armed," Bow cried.

"I don't know, dearie! I hate to say it, but if it comes down to it, we may have to just escape and find some place far away to hide out. If they have plenty more grenades, they could easily blow this whole building down!" Flurrie exclaimed.

"Great, so, coming here was a waste then! Should've figured that a place with this much people would garner the attention of psychopathic undesirables," Toodles angrily scoffed.

"Stop with that. Not here, not now! This place was convenient for so many people to take shelter in due to Tatanga destroying the city. What else was there to do or to go?" Frankly questioned her pessimism over the situation. Toodles just crossed her arms and looked away, visibly annoyed.

"I still can't believe those fuckers killed my...Lakilulu. I wanna kill every last one of them! Where are they!?" Lakilester yelled in rage, looking all around for a sight of a koopatrol.

"Lakilester, we WILL give them what they deserve, but you need to calm yourself a little and stay by us!" Mona said.

"Kooper, what are you doing?" Goombella asked as he was removing the armor outfit from the koopa and started putting it on himself. He then grabbed the spear and faced everyone.

"I'm going in disguise to try to kill them. It will be easier for me to do it this way. They won't see me coming!" he declared.

"Hmm! Smart...but also be careful because you'll probably be mistaken for one of them!" Frankly said.

"Woah! What is that thing!?" Toado shouted, pointing to a blue grenade that was rolling over to the group.

"HOLY SHIT, RUN! IT'S A FUCKING GRENADE!" Lakilester screamed, then the group quickly split away, but it was only seconds after that that the grenade exploded, knocking everyone down. A smoke grenade was immediately thrown after that occurred.

"AAGGGHHH!" Wario screamed, being grabbed by a koopatrol. He pulled the trigger on his stun gun, zapping the koopatrol and made him fall down. Wario got on top of him and started to punch him repeatedly.

"Wario, are you okay!? I can't fucking see!" Mona cried as she crawled on the floor attempting to stand herself up, but she shrieked and put her whole body to the floor when she saw fire shoot out from somewhere. The fire shot out again. She quickly realized that a koopatrol was wielding a flamethrower.

"FUCK! EVERYONE, GET AWAY FROM THE FLAMETHROWER!" Mona screamed and ran the opposite direction through the smoke.

"I seriously can't see shit! That had to have been a flash grenade!" Spike yelled, seeing nothing but white, and being in full on panic mode since he had no idea where he was going. He bumped into someone and yelped, accidentally pulling the trigger on his purple blinding gun.

"AH! SPIKE, IT'S ME! OH MY GOD I CAN'T SEE A THING NOW!" Bow screamed.

"What!? Oh shit, I'm so sorry it was an accident!" Spike cried.

"Perfect," said a deep, unfamiliar voice. The sound of flames shooting out were heard and seen by some in the smoke, and eventually the sounds of Bow screaming was heard too.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHH! HELP MEEEE SOMEONE!" Bow screeched, being engulfed by the flames that shot out of the weapon.

"NOOOO, BOW! SHIT! WHERE'S A FUCKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER!?" Pauline cried.

Kooper stabbed the spear through the koopatrol's neck, dropping dead immediately. Kooper swiped the flamethrower and saw Bow on fire running off in the distance, still screaming for mercy.

"FUCK!" he swore and tried chasing after her, until he heard another unwanted noise.

"AH, STOP! YOU GUYS, HELP! THEY GOT ME!" Frankly wailed from not too far away.

"Frankly! Where are you!?" Kooper yelled and started to cry from all the horrid chaos that never seemed like it was gonna end. There were no more noises coming from Frankly. He couldn't see anything through the smoke, and it didn't help that the headgear he had on narrowed his vision a little.

Kooper headed back to Bow to try to help her, but when he reached where he saw the fire still burning, Bow was completely still. It was too late.

"NEGATE!" Parakarry yelled, as he flew behind a koopatrol and touched him on the shoulders. The two fell to the ground, both of them now feeling weak. "Agh...now, Bombette!"

Bombette kicked the koopatrol over onto his back and shot him with her ice gun. The koopatrol screamed as he quickly turned blue all over. Goombario then came in, removed his headgear, and stabbed him in the temple with a large syringe.

"Good job. Now, what should we do!? Stay here and hide out or find the others!?" Bombette asked.

"Hard to say! I wanna make sure all these assholes die, but I also don't wanna risk any more of us dying either! Who knows how many even died in that grenade explosion!?" Jojora exclaimed as she helped Parakarry up.

"Doesn't help that these guys are very sneaky, too. That guy that was talking to Mario in the lobby was right; these guys DID plan everything out very strategically. I didn't even see this koopatrol coming till almost the last second!" Goombario said.

"Well, friends, I'm afraid I'm of no use in taking down these bastards with my condition…" Toadsworth said in a defeated tone. He leaned up against the wall with a noticeable stab wound in his upper thigh.

"Oh no! Toadsworth, just hang in there! Here, we'll just have to get you into the patient rooms and barricade the door!" Parakarry offered to help but Toadsworth shook his head in rejection.

"No. No. I'm just gonna slow you all down and put you guys in more danger. You have to go on without me!" he demanded. Jojora walked up to him and grabbed his hand.

"LISTEN! We're not leaving you here, got it!? We're all getting out of this mess alive! Here, I found this gauze on the floor, hold it against your wound!" she yelled and handed him the gauze. Toadsworth cried a little while nodding, appreciating that he was being looked after.

"BOMBETTE, BEHIND YOU!" Goombario screeched. Before Bombette could even move an inch, a koopatrol gripped his right arm around her neck, and was about to stab her with his dagger, until she felt the koopatrol holler and fall to her side. She turned around and saw a young-looking koopa without his headgear on that had knocked the koopatrol out with a desk drawer to the head.

"Quick, kill him before it's too late!" he yelled. Parakarry snatched the syringe from Goombario's hand and stabbed him in the eye with it.

Bombette felt incredibly confused now, and aimed her ice gun at him. "Wait, hold on here! Why the FUCK did you do that for!?"

"To save you! I-I just can't go along with this stupid plan anymore to kill people! I mean...um, I haven't killed anyone but I just can't let them do this!" he cried.

"OH, BULLSHIT!" Jojora screamed, swiping the syringe from Parakarry now. "You really think we're gonna fall for this? Bombette, shoot this kid!"

"PLEASE DON'T! I promise you guys I'll help you kill them all, but just please don't shoot me! I don't want anything to do with these guys anymore! They killed my big brother and were going to kill me too if I didn't join them!" he started to cry.

"And we're supposed to just believe that, huh? How stupid do you think we are!? I'll admit, you went pretty far at convincing us by knocking out your own buddy and throwing in some quick sob story, but it ain't gonna work!" Bombette hissed with fire in her eyes as she now put the gun against his neck, making him cry some more.

"Bombette, wait! What if he's telling the truth!? I mean, come on, look at him! He's clearly just a kid, probably about Goombario's age! Not every single person from Tatanga's group is going to be completely bad!" Parakarry protested.

"Parakarry, don't! We look out for our own no matter what! I don't care how good this boy thinks he is or how young he is, the second you aligned with Tatanga, you put yourself in a position to die!" Bombette yelled, making the kid break down even more.

"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! I SWEAR I NEVER HURT ANYONE! I WAS FORCED INTO THIS! THAT'S WHY I HURT HIM, I DON'T WANT THESE GUYS TO KILL EVERYONE!" the kid cried and pleaded for his life as he was now on his knees. "M-MY NAME IS KODY, MY BROTHER'S NAME WAS KELVIN! TATANGA'S KOOPATROLS RAIDED OUR HOUSE A-AND KILLED MY PARENTS AND OFFERED ME AND MY BROTHER A SPOT ON THEIR GROUP, BUT MY BROTHER REFUSED SO THEY KILLED HIM TOO! I HAD TO JOIN BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANNA DIE!"

"Okay, but what if he's telling the truth!? We don't have to completely spare him, we can just lock him in one of the cells in the basement and question him and see what he knows and take it from there!" Parakarry pleaded for the kid's sake.

"OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE, PARAKARRY! FINE!" Bombette angrily grunted and grabbed the koopa kid by the wrists.

"Hey! Where did Goombario go? He was just here!" Jojora pointed out, making the others scan the hallway for him.

"What the...Toadsworth! Did you see where Goombario went?" Parakarry asked. Toadsworth opened his eyes tiredly, barely keeping himself balanced.

"Ugh...no...I'm sorry...my eyes were closed…" he spoke out of breath.

"No! NO! SHIT! WAS THIS A DISTRACTION FOR YOUR PEOPLE TO TAKE GOOMBARIO!? ANSWER ME!" Bombette screamed in his ear and held her gun up to his neck.

"NO NO NO I SWEAR TO YOU I DIDN'T PLAN ANYTHING! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! I'M TELLING THE TRUTH I PROMISE YOU!" the koopatrol kid cried even more.

"Fuck! Let's take him with us while we go find Goombario then. Come on!" Jojora stated.

"Do you hear all those gunshots!? They're gonna shoot this whole place down like last time! But...it seems like this time they'll kill so much more people!" Vivian cried. Her and Koops were hiding in a tiny electrical supply closet.

"Don't say that! It's, um, gonna be okay...we'll make it through and...um…" Koops said to try to calm her down, but he didn't do a good job at even convincing himself.

"Koops?" Vivian noticed his awkwardness.

"Viv...if we don't make it through this, I just wanna let you know that I don't ever regret that time that we were together, even if it was really short. It was great," Koops admitted with tears in his eyes.

Vivian wanted to smile. It even made her feel warm inside from his words, but the horrors that were happening all around them made her unable to properly respond.

"DIE, YOU BASTARD!" yelled a familiar female voice, then a gunshot was heard.

"What the…? Was that who I thought it was?" Vivian said and slowly opened the door. She immediately saw Kylie standing over a dead koopatrol and was wiping blood off her face.

"KYLIE!" she yelled and ran out of the closet. Koops slowly came out, checking both directions for any more enemies.

"Oh, hey! You guys hurt?" Kylie asked while Arfur scoped out nearby rooms.

"I think both of us are okay, what about you two? Oh! Thank god you got guns with you!" Koops said in relief.

"Yeah, we always come prepared just in case you have shit like this happen unexpectedly!" Kylie said.

"OH! E. Gadd!?" Arfur screeched from one of the rooms. The three looked to their left and saw Arfur and Starlow come out of the room, holding onto Luvbi with E. Gadd following right behind, holding what looked like a small, red bomb.

"Hey, Luvbi, that's your name, right? What happened?" Vivian asked in concern, noticing she was limping.

"A whole bunch of people fell on me after that damn grenade went off! I nearly got suffocated to death!" Luvbi cried.

"Are all those guys gone!? Are we safe now!? Where do we go!? Do we find Mario!? WHAT DO WE DO!?" Starlow asked in pure panic.

"First things first, we have to NOT panic, okay!? Kylie and I have a car out back, and assuming that those guys haven't seen it and popped our tires, we'll try to make it out back there!" Arfur assured.

"Wait, just US that are going!? But, what about everyone else here!? Our friends? They could still be alive in this hospital hiding out somewhere! I know it's dangerous right now but it also doesn't feel right just leaving them here!" Koops objected.

"Koops, he meant that we'll lead you guys out back to our car AFTER we find everyone or if we happen to clear out this hospital first, right Arfur!?" Kylie restated, giving Arfur a stern look. Arfur look caught off guard but then nodded in agreement.

"E. Gadd, what do you have there?" Vivian pointed to the small red bomb he was holding.

"Something that I had planned in case THIS were to happen! It's a sticky bomb. Set it off, stick it to an enemy and it'll be impossible to remove, and then...KABOOM! You're dead!" E. Gadd enthusiastically replied.

"Do you happen to have any more unique items stashed somewhere!? I feel like you do!" Koops said.

"Well, be VERY careful with that then! Now, guys, follow closely behind us and-"

"HEY! Are you guys here to help us!?" frantically yelled a blonde-haired, scruffy-faced Toad who had cut off Kylie. He had jumped out of a nearby office room.

"Oh! Yes, stick close to us, okay? We're gonna comb through this whole hospital and get rid of these assholes!" Kylie assured.

"Oh...really?" the toad creepily smiled. "I wouldn't be so sure about that."

"What!?" Arfur said, confused by his change of demeanor.

The unexpected then happened. The Toad threw two grenades at the group, one being a flash and the other being a smoke. They all screamed as the flash grenade quickly exploded, blowing them all back and blinding them temporarily while the smoke quickly filled the vicinity.

"WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT FOR!?" Luvbi screamed.

"Fuck, I can't see a thing! Kylie, are you there!? Come towards my voice!" Arfur yelled.

Kylie only screamed in horror in response. The toad kicked her in the stomach and snatched her gun, shooting her in the chest. She screamed again, but knew she'd be alright because of her bulletproof vest, so she pretended to act like she was dying.

"Ugh...you...why? You're n-not...a koopatrol…" she said.

"No shit, I'm not. But, guess what lady? This is how the world works now. You gotta join the ones who have the most power. Without power, you don't have SHIT! By the way...the name's Toadim. I'm sure your favorite hero has told you aaaallll about me, huh?" he lectured with such confidence that it made her wanna throw up. He then noticed she wasn't bleeding from her bullet wound at all.

"Oh...look at that. Bullet proof vest you got on, huh? Guess I oughta fix that!" he snickered then aimed the gun at her forehead.

Kylie cried, knowing she was done for now. She had to let out her final words before going.

"You're not gonna win. You chose the wrong side."

Bang.

"KYLIE!? KYLIE!" Arfur yelled again, squinting through the smoke and pulled his trigger, hitting Toadim in the shoulder.

"AGH! YOU FUCKER!" he screamed, and aimed his gun at Arfur, who he could see through the smoke now, pulled the trigger, and shot him in the shoulder too. Arfur cried out in pain and fell while Toadim ran off.

"ARFUR! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Vivian screamed, wandering through the smoke.

"Ah! Hey, who is that!?" Koops screamed as he felt someone grab him by the shoulder.

"I-It's me. Koops, take the red bomb. I wasn't quick enough to do it on that man that killed Kylie...you have to go after him. You're so much stronger than you think," E. Gadd whispered in his ear and put the red bomb in his hand.

"What? But, E. Gadd, I-"

"No buts! If not that toad, then one of the others that are in here! One of us has to do it. I can tell you wanna do it. Now go! Don't hesitate!" E. Gadd stated. Koops didn't even know what else to say, but he listened to him fully. He picked himself up, grabbed Kylie's gun while trying not to look at her cold, dead expression with blood being splattered all over her face, and ran off.

"KYLIE!? ANSWER ME!" Arfur screamed while slowly moving through the smoke.

"Arfur! She's dead, I'm sorry! We need to take her body out of here!" E. Gadd broke the treacherous news to him. The smoke began to clear as he began to see her body. He drooped his head and started to cry.

The female Koopatrol from before went into the basement of the hospital with her male koopatrol partner, seeking out any people hiding.

"Wow, check this out. Large basement! Doesn't even look anything at all like a hospital down here," she said as the pair walked down the stairs slowly, examining the vicinity.

"Yeah, pretty neat design. Hmm...you go down that hallway, and I'll go down the one on the right!" the other koopatrol ordered.

Before she could respond, the basement door slamming open was heard. The pair quickly turned around to see another koopatrol buddy of hers wielding a spear.

"Oh! Kooparno, right? Wanna scope this place out with us?" she asked. He nodded and quickly went down the stairs with them. "Excellent. Go down that hallway with Kooptin here, I'll take it solo down this one!"

The three split when they reached the ground floor. Kooptin led the spear-wielding koopatrol down the hallway to the right.

"There's GOTTA be some people hiding out down here. This place is too big for them not to be, ya know?" Kooptin quietly spoke, holding his revolver tight, peeking through the windows of what looked like file and records rooms. The spear-wielding koopatrol didn't respond.

Kooptin went to a door and kicked it open, revealing a messy storage room. He combed through the whole room, ready to shoot anything in sight, but he didn't find a thing.

"Damn! I could've sworn I heard something...maybe it was the room next to this," he said then quickly walked out of there and stood by the adjacent room.

"Hey. I see a little blood on the floor here. Let's have this be your turn. See if there's something in there," he whispered. The spear-wielding koopatrol seemed hesitant, but then got in a battle stance.

"Come on. Whatcha waitin' for?" Kooptin impatiently asked.

A gulp was heard from the spear-wielder, which made Kooptin a little suspicious of him. However, he went full force on the door, kicked it open, almost knocking the latch off, and ran in. He heard a startling scream of a little kid. He ran to the back and saw Toady McToaderson Jr. in the corner, holding a bloody wound on his stomach.

"N-no! Please don't kill me! Please...I just want my mommy and daddy…" Toady cried his heart out. Kooper almost dropped his spear, saddened and shocked by seeing a little boy hurt so badly.

"Well well! Looks like my gang did quite the number on you, huh?" Kooptin laughed a little as he approached the kid as well. "Poor little boy...what do you say I finish the job and just put you out of your misery, eh?" he aimed his revolver at the little boy's head.

"NOOOO! I DON'T WANNA DIE! YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THIS!" Toady cried out even more, but braced for the bullet.

Suddenly, the spear-wielder slashed his spear against the side of Kooptin's neck, and kicked him in his ankle, dropping his revolver and dropping him to his knees. He then kicked him in the jaw, dropping the rest of his body to the floor. He then stomped on his chest, holding him down and making Kooptin cough up blood as the spear-wielder got the revolver and aimed it at Kooptin's head.

"HEY! W-WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" Kooptin yelled.

The spear-wielder removed his headgear, revealing himself to be Kooper. "Fooled you, bitch!"

Kooper then shot Kooptin in the forehead because he could even react.

"Y-y-y-you're not one of the bad guys?" Toady asked while looking away from the bloody sight.

"No, I just disguised myself to be one so I could get around easier and kill these jerks! Let me see your wound!" Kooper said as he lifted up his shirt to see how bad the wound was. It was quite a large slit and much blood was still coming out, and it stained the bottom half of his shirt and a lot of his shorts.

"Shit...okay, hold on to me! I'm gonna get you out of here and you're gonna just fine, okay!?" Kooper assured and tried to pick him up, but Toady cried out and fell back to the ground.

"It's...it's too dangerous...I don't want you to die too…" he said, out of breath as his eyes got heavier and moved around less.

"NO NO NO! HEY, KID! LOOK AT ME! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE IT OUT OF HERE! I NEED YOU TO STAY WITH ME!" Kooper cried and shook him by the shoulders. Toady barely gathered himself enough to even look remotely alive.

"Ahh...it's too late...tell my mommy and daddy...that I...lo…." Toady collapsed onto his back before he could even finish.

"NO! SHIT! KID, COME ON! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! PLEASE!" Kooper began to cry as he shook him greatly, but he was no longer responding. "No! No...FUCK! Those...how could those assholes do shit like this...kill people...let alone a little kid...too young to die, too fucking young to die!" he said as he cried into the boy's shirt.

Meanwhile, the female koopatrol entered the hallway where the cells lie. She heard the gunshot which made her whip her head around.

"Kooptin!? Everything ok back there?" she yelled.

"Hey...you should get me out of this cell!" a male voice called out to her. She turned her head back around.

"Huh? Was that you who said that?" she asked, walking to the cell where she saw a Fire Brother hanging at the door.

"Yeah, it was me. What's going on up there by the way? You guys trying to kill everyone?" he asked.

She chuckled. "Pretty much. But...this is interesting. Cells in a hospital basement? Fucking weird! Why are you in there, anyways?"

"Because I was doing the same thing that you guys were doing; killing everyone," he answered then made a wicked smirk that piqued her interest.

"HEY! Don't listen to him!" Tadano yelled, banging on his cell door. "He's dangerous and not trustworthy at all! Don't let him out, he's gonna kill you!"

The female koopatrol walked over to his cell, still having that look of interest. "Hmm...and why are YOU in there?"

"Because he's just as psychotic and dangerous as me, he just doesn't wanna admit it!" Fire Bro answered for him then laughed.

"SHUT UP! I'M NOT ANYTHING LIKE YOU!" Tadano screamed.

"Wow. Soooo…." she giggled at Tadano then walked back over to Fire Bro. "...you're a dangerous psychopath that has the same agenda as us, huh?"

"Definitely. I was playing a double agent the whole time, being a part of their group, helping them...I managed to sneak one kill in, but they caught me before I could pull off anything better," Fire Bro explained.

"I see...well, looks like you could be a nice asset to our team. Wanna join?" she excitedly asked.

Fire Bro wickedly smirked again. "Of course. I would love another chance to maim those assholes. They deserve it!"

The female koopatrol laughed at him. "Excellent. Watch out!" She got out her revolver and shot the doorknob of the cell door a couple times. She then kicked it open and out came Fire Bro.

"Ah! Thanks! I feel so fucking alive again!" he giddily cheered.

"You're making a mistake! He's not gonna help you, he's only in it for himself!" Tadano pleaded.

The female koopatrol rolled her eyes and aimed her gun at Tadano through the cell bars. "You know, you're kind of getting on my nerves now. I WOULD shoot you right now, but...it looks like you're already miserable enough being locked in there."

"You...you might as well...I don't really have anything left now…" Tadano started to sob and collapsed his body to the floor. "No one believes me...no one cares for me...there's no point in living if it's gonna be like this…"

"God, you are DEPRESSING, you know that!? And hey, ever thought that there might be a reason that no one believes you? Can't blame the whole world for your issues!" she yelled annoyedly.

"Actually, he is right about one thing...I AM in it for myself," Fire Bro stated. This made the koopatrol look over to him in surprise, to which she was then met with a slit to the throat from the shard of glass that Fire Bro stuffed in his shell after he had stabbed Kallan with it. The koopatrol pulled the trigger on her revolver, narrowly missing Fire Bro and she fell to the floor, coughing up blood.

"Why do you think I had you let me out of the cell, you stupid bitch!?" Fire Bro spat while taking her revolver. She stopped moving and her eyes closed, seeing that last moment of betrayal before her life ended.

"Oh god, Konnor! You...I-I don't even know what to say!" Tadano shrieked at the bloody mess, confused at how he should feel since one psychopath killed another psychopath.

"You don't have to say anything. I'm off now. Have fun rotting in that cell!" Fire Bro cheered and merrily walked away.

As Fire Bro approached the stairs, he saw Kooper come from the other hallway, still crying from earlier. Fire Bro gasped, which Kooper heard as he looked right at him. He immediately roared, got out the revolver and shot at him, but also missed. Fire Bro lunged at him, knocking him onto the floor. He attempted to shoot Kooper, but Kooper jabbed him in the jaw and rolled over on top of him. Kooper punched Fire Bro a few times and let out his rage from earlier. Fire Bro managed to grab a hold of his shard and stab Kooper in the leg with it. Kooper wailed in pain and then Fire Bro kicked him off, but Kooper quickly recoiled and grabbed Fire Bro by the ankle, knocking him onto the floor again. Fire Bro kicked Kooper in the nose, letting out another wail of pain as he already felt it bleeding. Fire Bro got himself up and ran up the stairs with the revolver still in hand.

"Aaaaggh...KONNOR! GET THE FUCK BACK HERE!" Kooper roared and chased him up the stairs.

Daisy crawled her way over to underneath the reception desk, her body being hurt by both the Timeslow move and being trampled on by the people panicking and running wherever they could. Smoke was still in the air as she could hear sounds of people screaming and fighting with the koopatrols. Glass was heard being broken, furniture was heard being knocked over and destroyed, gunshots rang through the vicinity, grenade explosions were heard from somewhere deep in the hospital...Daisy cried at all this. She thought to herself: When was this chaos ever gonna stop? Was it always going to be like this until they beat the one who started this all? And after that, will there even be a happy ending, what with all the traumatic aftereffects that they'll have to overcome?

Daisy came back to the present moment when she saw a toad fall to the floor a few feet away from her. It was Toadoro, and he looked badly beaten. Daisy saw that he had been shot in the leg and stabbed a couple of times in the torso. He saw the princess and crawled over to her.

"P-Princess Daisy...please...end me…" he spoke while crying.

Daisy widened her eyes in horror. "W-What!? What the hell do you mean!?"

"I...I have nothing left...I lost my daughter, Toadiana...and now I lost my wife, Toadinya…" Toadoro spoke with his voice cracking a little. He gestured his head to behind him, making Daisy see that his wife was up against the wall with a bullet in her shoulder and bloody footmarks all over her body, indicating that she was trampled to death.

"Oh god...h-hey! Look at me, I'll make sure you get out of here alive! It's gonna be okay!" Daisy tried to assure him, but it was a weak attempt as Toadoro shook his head.

"I don't wanna live like this anymore...I have nothing left...and I'm in so much pain...please, Princess Daisy...end me…" Toadoro cried even more while he slid her a handgun.

Daisy nearly froze and sweat all over in immense shock at what he was practically proposing for her to do.

"Wha...n...no! I-I-I-I can't! Please don't do this! I-I'll get you help to heal! Once this is all done, we can-"

"Noooo! I don't want any more help...I just wanna go so I can be with my wife and daughter and to end this pain...agh, please Princess Daisy...it hurts so much...I can't live like this…and I'm not strong enough to do it myself..." he demanded and slid the gun further to her.

The world around Daisy was drowned out. The only thing she could focus on was the man in front of her, begging to be killed. It was as if nothing else existed apart from this terrifying and unimaginable situation.

Daisy slowly reached for the handgun and grabbed it, not taking her eyes off of the poor man. He was in so much pain that it hurt Daisy to even look at him. Her whole body shook as she struggled to aim the gun at his head. Toadoro braced for the bullet. Daisy sat there with the gun aimed at him for what seemed like hours to her. Was she really going to go through with this? Fulfill someone's death wish? Her mind was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. She'd be okay with killing an actual bad guy, but just a poor man that she barely knows? A man that could potentially live and learn to carry on no matter what?

Daisy tried to control her breathing so she wouldn't hyperventilate and slowly lowered the gun. "I...I'm so sorry...I can't do this…"

A grenade went off right near the reception desk. The sudden boom scared Daisy so much that she accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting Toadoro in the head anyways.

The world drowned out around her again the second she realized what she did. The debris falling onto her didn't even affect her as she stared at the man she just killed with his blood now on her clothes.

"DAISY! DAISY!"

Her mind went to being blank. The feelings that ran through her were so gruesome, horrid, and discomforting that it made her wanna die herself.

"DAISY, HEY! IT'S ME!" Luigi came into sight, shaking her to snap out of it.

And she did. She came back to reality and looked Luigi in the eyes.

"Come on, Dais, we need to get off of this floor! I tried fighting these guys but they're too strong and it's too risky being around their grenades!" Luigi yelled as he pulled her up on her feet and the pair ran towards the back.

"OH!" Luigi made a louder yell and fell, making Daisy fall with him, and hit her head on the arm of a chair. Daisy cried out, holding her forehead in pain. Luigi turned his head to see that it was another koopatrol that stabbed him in the back with an ice axe. As Daisy tried to regain her consciousness, the koopatrol pulled the ice axe out of Luigi's back, making him cry out a bloodcurdling scream and then rolled him over on his back. He sat on top of him and grinned in excitement.

"Well well, the infamous brother of Mario! I get the pleasure of killing you," the koopatrol then stabbed both of Luigi's arms so he'd be weak in pushing him off. Luigi let out another scream of pain and terror, feeling that this was the end for him. "Look at you...pathetic. Weak. Forgettable. Useless. At least your stupid brother has got some manpower and confidence going on in him, but you? Your existence is pointless! I'm doing you a favor by getting rid of you!" he spat and held the ice axe high, ready to stab him in the chest.

The second Daisy fully regained her consciousness and saw what was going on, her heart nearly stopped and she screamed.

"TIMESLOOOOOW!"

Her body hurt again while she saw the koopatrol very slowly bring down the ice axe towards his chest. She had to act fast because her gun had slid away from her while falling. She saw it by a pot plant a few feet away. She scrambled over to get it, crying as she was mere seconds from losing her lover.

She grabbed the gun and looked back at the scene. The koopatrol's ice axe was only a few inches away from penetrating his chest.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Daisy roared, pulling the trigger. The bullet came out in regular motion and it successfully hit the koopatrol in the head as soon as the ice axe struck Luigi's chest.

Time went back to normal now. The koopatrol was blown back from the bullet. A small wound was struck into Luigi's chest as the koopatrol was shot before he could fully deliver the blow.

"OH! D...Daisy…" Luigi began to hyperventilate, gripping his chest in pain.

"IT'S OKAY, I GOT YOU! WE'RE LEAVING!" Daisy screamed. She pulled Luigi up and he held onto her as they ran away to wherever the hell they could get away from all this tragedy.

"UP THERE!" Birdo shouted, pointing to a koopatrol that had tried running upstairs to escape her, Yoshi, and DK in the stairwell.

DK climbed the railings of the stairs and got to him with ease. He kicked the koopatrol in his chest, making him tumble down the set of stairs onto the landing. Yoshi walked up to the koopatrol, picked his body up and slammed him against the wall.

"HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE!? WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS!? WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LEAVE US ALL ALONE!?" Yoshi erratically screamed in his face.

"Does it matter!? I mean...does it REALLY fucking matter!? You're gonna kill me anyways!" the koopatrol shrilled.

"Yoshi...he's right. It doesn't matter!" DK said, then grabbed the koopatrol by the neck and threw him down the middle of the stairwell. His body banged and bashed against the railings a few times and then eventually smashed into the floor, with many of his joints now dislocated and broken.

"Wow...I'm sorry. I don't know why I said all those things," Yoshi said in embarrassment, cringing a little from how battered and mangled the koopatrol looked from above.

"It's fine. But, like I said, none of it matters, we just need to kill them before they kill any more of us," DK stated.

"Aaaaand, if you want answers to your questions, honey...how many of them are there? Lots. Why the hell are they doing this? Because they wanna cause a shitstorm to make themselves feel powerful. Why can't they just leave us all alone? Because they're miserable with their lives, so they wanna bring us into it since they don't know how else to deal with their issues," Birdo said somewhat jokingly as she walked up the stairs towards them.

"Sounds about right. So, now, we need to- YOSHI, LOOK OUT!" DK suddenly shrieked when he saw the door to the second floor swing open with a koopatrol aiming a flare gun right at Yoshi and firing it. DK pushed Yoshi to the ground and DK ducked, just barely missing the flare that struck the wall.

Birdo was right to the side of the door when this happened. She kicked the koopatrol's arm, making him drop the flare gun, and then kicked him against the wall, punched him a few times, then swiped her nails against his cheek. The koopatrol cried out, but immediately after that, Yoshi grabbed his arm and twisted it, making him scream, and as his mouth was opened, DK shoved the flare gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. The koopatrol screamed as the inside of his mouth burst into flames. Yoshi then kicked him in the back, knocking him over the railing, and landed to his death.

Yoshi panted a little and fell to the ground. "Goddamn. Any other surprises waiting for us!?"

"Come on Yosh, get up! We gotta see if the others are alright!" DK demanded, helping him stand up.

"Don't worry about surprises, honey. We're fucking invincible, we don't need…" Birdo said but stopped mid-sentence when she heard a door open on the ground floor of the stairwell. She looked over the railing to see who it was. She made a loud gasp.

It was Fire Bro. He looked up, saw Birdo, gasped as well, then quickly aimed his revolver at her, and shot her in the chest.

The shot rang through the stairwell, making Yoshi's and DK's hearts stop the second they heard it and the second they saw blood splatter all over them.

It was as if time slowed down when he saw Birdo. He saw the exit wound in her back. He saw her stumble backwards a little bit then stumbled forward, falling over the railing.

Yoshi screamed, tugging away from DK, and ran to the railing. What he saw, he knew that Birdo was already dead before she even hit the ground. Her eyes were already closed. No noise came from her mouth. He also saw the monster that did it. Fire Bro, who had stood there looking so proud of what he did, smirking at Yoshi. He winked at the dinosaur then skipped out of the stairwell.

Yoshi let out a roar of rage. He darted down the stairs with DK following closely behind, just as upset as Yoshi is. When he reached the ground floor, he fell towards her body and let out a loud cry. His heart shattered into a million pieces. What Fire Bro did made Yoshi feel the most amount of rage and sadness he's ever felt in his entire life, so much so that it made him want to puke, especially because of how Fire Bro looked after he shot his soulmate. Fire Bro wanted to see Yoshi suffer, and he accomplished that goal.

DK got on the ground floor, and as much as he wanted to cry with Yoshi, he wanted to avenge his friend more than anything at that moment. DK kicked open the door so hard, that it flew off his hinges.

"WHERE IS HE!? WHERE IS THE FIRE BROTHER!?" DK roared so loud, that it caught the attention of everyone who was busy running away and hiding.

Kooper ran over to DK while taking his headgear off. "DK! You saw my brother!? What happened!?"

DK looked him cold in the eyes as tears still fell from them. Kooper immediately knew that his brother had to have done something, because he had never seen DK so enraged and hurt before.

"He killed Birdo," was all he said. Kooper stepped back and covered his mouth in horror. Konnor was continuing his plan to cause mayhem for the group.

Kooper looked to his left as he couldn't help but cry again. He saw Konnor head for the courtyard, pushing past people.

"KONNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!" Kooper screamed in pure vengeance. The adrenaline kicked in full blast, making him run faster than he'd ever ran before.

"Birdo...no no no FUCKING NOOOOO! I-I just got you back, too...DAMNIT!" Yoshi cried into her shoulder. "I-I-I-I-I...that...Birdo...oh my god I don't even know what to do! BIRDOOOO! I-I love you so much, baby...please come back...come back…" he held her close to him and rocked back and forth as he let out all his tears. DK walked over and cried with him, feeling the loss and pain as well from his friend.

Meanwhile...Kooper got out into the courtyard and aimed his revolver at Konnor as Konnor ran into the fields.

"KONNOR! YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!" Kooper screamed and shot at him, hitting him in the shoulder.

Konnor yelled, falling into the grass. He quickly recoiled, rolled himself over, and shot at Kooper. The bullet grazed his left leg, but he felt it enough to fall down in pain.

"FUCK! MOTHERFUCKER! KONNOR...I SWEAR TO GOD WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, YOU'LL WISH THAT YOU WERE STILL IN THAT INSANE ASYLUM!" Kooper roared and panted as he struggled to get himself back up. He saw Konnor running away still, holding his shoulder with his hand. Kooper ran forward to catch up to him and get a closer shot, but he fell down the steps out into the courtyard. Kooper roared out in pain once again as he reached the bottom, hitting his head a little.

"Ah...fuck…" he swore. His vision got a little blurry from the overwhelming pain. Konnor was so far away from the hospital now, that there'd be no way for Kooper to catch up to him in time. He raised his revolver and shot out another bullet, hoping to hit him, but it was useless. Kooper cried and dragged himself towards the grass.

"AHHH! HELP, HELP!" Bleck shrieked with his arm caught on fire as he ran into the cafeteria. Toadiko grabbed a fire extinguisher and doused the flames on his arm, leaving a little scarring.

"Bleck, are you okay!?" Tippi cried.

"I'll survive! Now, they're gonna come in here and set this place on fire! I can't let my vision come true," Bleck declared and stood facing the door as the other people toppled over the tables, desperate to find anywhere to hide.

"Vision!? This isn't a time for weird metaphors! Use your magic to kill these fuckers by making their heads spontaneously combust or something!" Boshi yelled.

"It doesn't work like that, you fool! Doing magic like that, for me, takes time to charge to actually do big damage, and I'm pretty sure I don't have time to charge!" Bleck responded in annoyance.

"Yeah, so shut up and keep watch of those koopa slaves or whatever the hell they're called!" Toadiko demanded.

"First off, they're called Koopatrols. Secondly, don't tell me to shut up because I will say whatever the fuck I want, ESPECIALLY if I'm about to probably die!" Boshi angrily retorted.

"GUYS! Is this seriously the time to be arguing about this!?" Tippi yelled frustratedly.

"Bleck, look! Out the window, in the parking lot!" Koopie yelled. Bleck peered out the large cafeteria windows and saw a koopatrol aiming a grenade launcher right at the cafeteria window.

"HOLY SHIT, IT'S A FUCKING GRENADE LAUNCHER! EVERYONE, GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS!" Boshi screamed, scaring everyone even more, and making them all move the opposite side of the cafeteria windows.

The koopatrol released the grenade, and it was heading straight for the window that Bleck was looking out of. Bleck yelled and raised his hand up, stopping the grenade in mid-air. He then threw his hand out forward, sending the grenade back the opposite direction. It landed directly where the koopatrol stood, and caused a huge explosion, almost blinding Bleck, and incinerating the koopatrol.

"Whew...too close of a call," Bleck said in relief. However, it wasn't over by far. The window next to Bleck smashed open with a koopatrol jumping through with a smoke grenade already filling the air. Another koopatrol came in through the doors, throwing another smoke grenade in and began blasting away with his sub-machine gun. Everyone screamed as many of them got shot.

"SHIT! GET THAT ONE WITH THE GUN, WE'LL GET THIS ONE!" Koopie yelled, running over to the koopatrol that jumped in first. Toadiko got to him first and bashed him in the head with the fire extinguisher, knocking him down. Boshi jumped on top of him, threw off his headgear, and started punching him repeatedly while screaming like a maniac the entire time.

"DIE. YOU. FUCKING. PIECE. OF. SHIT! BURN. IN. HELL!" Boshi roared with each punch to his face. While this was happening, Koopie found a wine bottle, smashed it in half, and stabbed the koopatrol in the neck with it. Boshi pulled the broken bottle from his neck and then stabbed him in the eye with it. He then dragged the koopatrol towards the window, and tossed him back outside with the help of Koopie.

Meanwhile, Bleck moved a couple of tables with his mind towards the koopatrol with the sub-machine gun, slamming him up against the wall, and dropping his gun. Bleck ran over to him, grabbed the gun, and pointed it to him.

"Ooh...be so fucking glad that you got magic powers, mister magician, otherwise you'd all be dead by now," the koopatrol spoke.

"Maybe in some other reality we would be dead...but not this one," Bleck stated, and shot him in the head. Bleck gave another sigh of relief, but then noticed that the smoke was covering the entire cafeteria now.

"Oh, uhh, DISSIPATE!" he yelled, then all the smoke vanished immediately.

"Bleck, you did it! Was that all of them!? Are we safe now?" Tippi questioned.

"Hey...where is Toadiko at? Wasn't she right here!?" Koopie pointed out.

"Yeah, she was! What the hell!? Did one of them grab her? If so, then shit! Those guys are slick!" Boshi yelled, looking all over the cafeteria for her.

"Oh no...TOADIKOOOOOO!" Bleck yelled out, running out to the broken window, having a horrible feeling about her whereabouts.

Mario and Peach ran back into the lobby, as it looked as if everything was calming down. The screaming and chaos had settled, although crying and mourning was quite prevalent. Some people were putting out fires. Nurses and doctors were rushing many people to the ER.

"God, what a disaster...all these poor people…" Peach sobbed at the sight. Mario was about to say something, until a toad pushed past him. The toad looked back as he ran and Mario nearly froze when he saw his face.

It was Toadim. He ran out the entrance and towards the monster truck. Mario immediately felt consumed by rage, having a flashback to when Toadim nearly got Mario killed and he didn't even feel sorry for it.

"MARIO!" Koops screamed from behind the pair. He jumped in front of them and frantically yelled, "Th-that toad that just ran past here, he's working with the koopatrols! He killed Kylie! We need to get him!"

"WHAT!? That was Toadim, and he was working with the koopatrols!? That son of a bitch!" Peach angrily yelled, feeling just as enraged as Mario now.

Mario then sped off with Koops right behind him. The adrenaline kicking in and thirst for taking down Toadim for all the mess that he's caused took over his entire body. As soon as he reached the front entrance, he long jumped down the stairs.

"SHIT! COME ON, COME ON! GET IN!" Toadim screamed at a koopatrol that was also running away from the hospital.

Koops pushed himself to run the fastest he could. He caught up to the koopatrol, set off the red bomb, and threw it at him, sticking to the back of his neck. The koopatrol paid no notice to this and got up in the monster truck with Toadim, and the truck quickly drove off.

"Whew...we made it. Are we the only ones left?" the koopatrol asked.

"Dude, what is that on the back of your neck!?" Toadim yelled, seeing a small red bomb-looking thing that began flashing.

"What? Oh...shit! What the hell!? I can't get it off!" he cried, doing his best to pull the thing off.

"Fuck, I ain't taking any chances! GET OUT!" Toadim yelled, taking his hands off the wheel to open the passenger door and tried pushing the koopatrol out.

"AH! NO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? STOP IT!" he screamed, holding onto his seat for dear life. Toadim then got out his gun and shot him in the chest, pushing him outside now. As soon as he landed on the ground, the bomb exploded, incinerating him.

"Holy shit! Well, good thing that I- WOAH!" Toadim said, looking back at the explosion, then looked to the front to get back in control of driving, only to see that he was about to crash into a corner store. He had no time to evade it. The monster truck rammed into the front of the store, destroying that part almost completely, stopping the truck. Toadim hit his head on the steering wheel, but tried to quickly recuperate himself.

"Owwww, DAMNIT! Come on, please still work!" he cried while trying to put the truck in reverse to escape.

"HEY, YOU!" yelled Fly Guy as he flew into the passenger's seat.

"AH! WHAT THE FUCK!? WHO ARE YOU?" Toadim jumped in fright.

"Just someone who's gonna take you to get your karma! HAHAHA, WATCH THIS!" Fly Guy neurotically laughed, then did a quick ram move into Toadim, knocking him out the driver's window and onto the ground.

"OWWWWWWWWWWW! SHIIIIIT!" he screeched, feeling every part of his body hurting like hell now, coupled with the fact that his shoulder was still bleeding out from the bullet wound he sustained from Arfur earlier.

"Don't even bother to struggle, because you know how this is going to end!" Fly Guy proudly exclaimed. He lifted Toadim by his shirt and flew him back towards the hospital.

"Oh...oh god, no! NO, PLEASE! JUST LET ME GO! I PROMISE I'LL NEVER EVER COME BACK!" Toadim cried, knowing what was going to happen to him now.

"Now now, you and I both know that that's a total LIE! Just face it, scruffy! YOUR TIME IS UP!" Fly Guy laughed. Mario walked onto the street, seeing what was going on and felt a little bit of relief that the bastard wasn't able to get away. Fly Guy tossed Toadim towards Mario, and landed a couple feet before him.

"Here he is, Mario! He's also got a gun in his pocket! This should be interesting," Fly Guy said in excitement as he handed him the gun.

"Thank you for your help, Fly Guy," Mario said while checking how ammunition was left in the gun.

Toadim coughed up a little blood and started crying. "M-Mario...please...give me one last chance...I am so sorry…"

Mario gave him a cold, dead stare. He had more than enough of all the bullshit. He cocked the gun and aimed it at Toadim's forehead. "We already gave you your last chance."

Bang.

Mario walked back into the hospital, seeing Peach run up to him.

"Mario! Did you take care of Toadim?" she asked.

"Yeah, he's gone now, and hopefully along with all the other bastards that came here," Mario said while wiping the blood off his clothes. Peach gave a great sigh of relief and hugged him.

"HEY! We need some help here! This elevator crashed, and we found two survivors inside of it!" Dr. Nokano called out, prompting the attention of many people. Parakarry flew in and grabbed Toadette, managing to fly her out of there and onto the floor. Goombella saw this and ran up to her, giving her a hug.

"Hey hey! You okay!? Was it them that made the elevator crash?" Goombella asked.

"Yeah…man, I really thought I was gonna die, Goombella. It was so scary and...umm, wait, have you seen Toad? I lost him after that grenade went off," Toadette asked, looking everywhere for a sight of him.

"No, I haven't seen him, but I'm sure we'll find him. And I think all the koopatrols are dead now, so we shouldn't have any problems with finding him!" Goombella assured.

"Hey, we're gonna need a ladder for the other survivor! I won't be able to carry her out!" Parakarry shouted. A few helpers went and searched for a ladder.

Everyone began to regather in the lobby, painfully distraught over the treacherous and terrifying event that had occurred yet again.

"Yoshi!" Boshi called out and ran up to them. "You okay? Where's Birdo? You...Yoshi…" Boshi had clearly seen that Yoshi had finished crying his eyes out, which made him expect the worst.

"Birdo is dead. Fire Bro killed her," he coldly said. The people that heard this shrieked in horror.

"NO! BIRDO...but, how the hell did Fire Bro escape!? I DON'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS!" Daisy shrilled and cried even more from before. Boshi's mouth just hung open in devastation. His mouth quivered as he slowly walked to Yoshi to give him a hug and then just burst out crying.

"Hey...HEY! YOU GUYS!" Kooper shouted over all the crying, bringing all attention to him. "You all...um, you all need to come to the courtyard to see this...by the woods…"

"What? Why? What's out there? Are the rest of my kids out there, Kooper!?" Bowser asked, putting down Lemmy and Bowser Jr to the floor.

"Just...y-you all really need to see what happened…" Kooper responded upsettingly and turned around to head back out to the courtyard.

"K-Kooper! KOOPER! WHAT DO YOU MEAN!? ARE MY KIDS OUT THERE!?" Bowser nervously yelled and followed directly behind him, with many other people following suit to see what was going on.

They all got out to the courtyard and made their way towards the edge of the woods, where they could begin to see what had made Kooper so distraught. People began to scream in horror and sadness once they realized what occurred here.

Bowser saw some of his kids by the woods, but not all of them were standing there. He saw they were crying and holding each other. He then looked up at the trees and felt his heart stop the second he saw what they were crying at.

The horror hadn't ended at all. The koopatrols sneakily hung six bodies on the branches of the trees while all the madness in the hospital was happening.

Professor Frankly.

"OH MY GOD, NOOO! FRANKLYYYYY!" Goombella screamed and toppled into the grass, crying.

"My word...those...unbelievable monsters…" Flurrie spoke, being all choked up as tears fell down her cheeks, frozen in fear from the atrocity that lay before her.

Goombario.

"NO NO NOOOO! SHIT! GOOMBARIO! AAAAHHHHH!" Bombette cried, pounding the ground furiously.

"G...Goombario…? Damnit. DAMNIT! YOU DIDN'T DESERVE TO GO! NO ONE DID!" Lakilester yelled while crying into his hands.

Iggy and Wendy.

"NOOOOOOOO! MY-MY KIDS! I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS BULLSHIT! THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT! THOSE FUCKERS TOOK YOU AWAY FROM ME! OH MY GOD!" Bowser roared. His heart shattered and his body gave in to the emotions, falling onto the grass, and crying into the dirt. The rest of the koopalings went to their dad and cried their hearts out with him, hugging each other, and sharing the familial pain of losing their kins.

Toadiko.

"Goddamnit! I should've seen this coming! I had my magic and she was near me a-a-a-and I could've done something! Why didn't I do something!? I was so focused on killing that bastard and I just- and I just BLEW IT!" Bleck cried in self-defeat, throwing his hat to the grass.

"Bleck...y-y-you did all you could...the only fault here lies with those people that killed everyone…" Tippi tried to comfort him, but also cried with him.

And, lastly…

Toad.

"Toad? TOAD!? N-NO! OH PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T REAL! TOAD! I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE, I NEED YOU! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, TOAD!" Toadette cried and shielded her eyes from having to see her dead brother any longer. Peach held her and cried as well, nearly wanting to vomit because all of this was just so beyond her capability to bear.

This day was the moment everything had changed for everyone. The shooting that happened at the other hospital was nothing compared to this. People that had grown and connected to each other over the quest were now gone forever, afflicting the emotional weight and pain so much harder on the ones who survived.

EOC.

So...DAMN. This chapter ended up being a whole lot bigger than I anticipated (yet again), it's almost at 20k words! And this is the 100th chapter! I have achieved a milestone that I've been wanting to achieve for years now and I give a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has been reading and reviewing! I also want to give a huge thank you to you guys that deal with my questionable writing decisions, I know it's not easy dealing with that either LOL.

So...here we are. This story is kind of coming close to an end now, as there are approximately 40 chapters left. Chapters 101 and 102 deal with the emotional turmoil from the events that happened here along with discussions of what to do next plus the suspicion surrounding Mushroom Corporations grows even further. Chapter 103 is when the villains will appear again (plus Grodus) along with Doopliss' story of how he got involved with Tatanga, and chapter 104 is when Rosalina will appear again along with the new arc starting for the gang. After that, the story will become a little bit quicker paced.

Thank you guys so much for reading/reviewing, again. I know I'm not even remotely close to being one of the best writers, but I try my best. Next chapter will be uploaded by May 15, but...since next chapter will be significantly shorter than this one, it'll most likely be uploaded WAY before that date. Stay cool!
