It was Valentines day at Domino High. Red, white and pink were everywhere as students opened up their lockers to find valentines, chocolates, flowers and other various gifts from their boyfriends and friends. But sadly, one plain girl Tea Gardner felt left-out. Valentines Day was not kind to plain girls, only to the pretty and the popular. In elemantary school, it wasn't a big deal. Thirty valentines for each student. Even in middle school, it wasn't that bad. She ignored her fact her cards weren't full of love-notes like the pretty girls or huge like the popular girls. But in high school, valentines were not handed out to plain-Janes or plain-Tea's. Only to the pretty, the popular and the beautiful girls who smoked pot, partied all night long and applied lip-balm every day between breaks.

Tea opened her locker, and was hit by a mountain of valentines. "What the?" she cried out. For a second, she was shocked. Then, her eyes misted with happiness. Maybe, people really did love her. She opened her first card that said:

Roses are red,

violets are blue.

Dog poop is ugly

and so are you.

Her eyes widened with disbelief. Who would send such a mean card? She opened up the next one:

You look like a girl

But, you act like a toad

When you get friendshippy

And when your temper explodes.

One mean card after another, the tears began to come. She couldn't believe that people thought such cruel, awful things about her. And the more she read, the more she had to fight the hurt and rejection. Not a single nice valentine. Since Joey and Tristan had left town for the week, they couldn't send her anything. So, she was beginning to feel like nobody liked her. But, then she spotted one last card on the floor. She opened it up, wiped away her tears and read the card:

A kind, beautiful angel

With beauty devine

Would you please

be my valentine?

Tea was stunned. She skimmed down the card to find out who sent it; Love, Yugi. She wiped away the last of her tears and then held the card to her heart. It didn't matter what everyone else thought. Yugi didn't care about what the other people thought of her, he loved her just the way she was. And, so what if people didn't accept her for who she was? She had friends, real true friends who stood by her no matter what. That was all she needed. She whispered "Thanks, Yugi" and then threw out all the hate-notes and moved along.
