Ch 17: Walking A Dark Road
After a long afternoon, the day was finally winding down and nothing else happened throughout the day...thankfully. Heart at least had an enjoyable day and was excited to head home. Of course, she was going to wait for her knight in shining armor, aka Alastor, to come and meet her at the library.
Alastor made his way from the station like normal and headed to the library to escort his princess back home. He made it to the front doors and gave a gentle tap. Heart locked them in safety when she was the only one there, Kristen had already headed home for the night when Rosie came by to get her.
Heart heard the knock on the door and quickly went to unlock it. There was only one person that came by the library when it was closed. She opened the door for the male outside. "Hey Al! Long time no see." Heart said with a giggle.
"Hello love, indeed, a long time no see. It feels like an eternity when I had to leave you." Alastor said with a dramatic tone.
"I know, such a long time. Come on in. I have a few more things I need to do." She says as she holds the door open for him.
"Thank you, my love." He says, taking control of the door as he walks in then locks it behind him to be sure they were both safe. "Tell me where you want me to be so I'm not in your path of work." he added.
"Just stand by the desk. I just have to put a small stack of books away and finalize some things in the books and I'll be good to go." The woman said as she walked up to the desk.
"Yes love, I'll be right here waiting." The host said, making his way over to the desk.
Heart grabbed her stack of books to put away. Luckily, they all went to the same area. Probably a kid studying for something. She put them away in no time and headed back to the desk. Seeing Alastor standing there made her wish the man would be there all the time. It made her happy to see him. She walked up to him and kissed his cheek softly.
"My cher, you missed me I think haha." Alastor chuckled and kissed her back leaning down.
"Maybe a little bit. I can never get enough of that handsome face of yours." She says as she pinches his cheek lightly.
"Can't get enough of me hm? I can fix that right here my dear~" The man purred, getting an idea then moved in front of her. Placing his arms on either side of her. She was now pinned to the back of the desk as he leaned over her with a mischievous smirk on his face. His eyes hiding behind his specs and the dim lighting highlighting his features softly.
When he pinned her against the desk, Heart looked at him with a blush and a surprised face. She didn't expect that from him, but honestly, she didn't care. The position they were in excited her. Alone in the library and that look on his face. She grinned. "Would you like to finish what we started at lunch? You seem like you want dinner already."
"You heard my stomach growl didn't you cher~ I'd like to devour you right here...right now." Alastor whispered to her, "You make me hungry my dear... hungry for you so much~"
A shutter went down Heart's back from his words and it made her feel excited and it sparked the fire in her. "I guess it must be a satisfying meal if you keep coming back for more." She purred.
"You are an endless course that continues to fill me when I starve...now allow me to...return and fill you as well." He said seductively, moving her up so she was sitting on the desk now on her back. He did it swiftly and carefully so he wouldn't hurt her. Then he got up on the desk as well and loomed over her on his hands and knees. His hands pinning her underneath him as he began to lower himself onto her. His excitement in his lower region became more prominent.
"Oh my. Can't even wait till we get home? You're such a naughty buck." Heart says with a grin. She felt his bulge in his pants start to become more prominent against her leg and she reached a hand down to caress it over the clothing. Feeling it against her fingers.
"Mnnnn darling~" Alastor moaned as she caressed his needy bulge.
"Oh, such an excited buck already. You're so bad." She says and starts to undo his belt and then unbutton his pants to pull down his zipper.
"I-I am... but you're just as bad when it comes to feeding me my dear~" His breath hitched and he panted a little allowing her to move his clothes.
"I know. I guess we both need to be put in time out then." She played along. She then stuck her hand into his pants and her fingers brushed against his hardening length and she gently took it into her hand and pumped him a few times lightly.
"Ngh!-" Alastor inhaled sharply from her actions as he felt jolts of pleasure and her touch.
"Such a naughty stag you are, but I love you so much." Heart purred at him as she gently stroked him.
He exhaled shakily trying to keep his head level; he felt his mind going deeper in the fog of pleasure. "Mmm...yes...I-I am..,oh d-darling! Merde..!"
"Mmm, you're so hard already my love." She says as she strokes him more. "Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful if I could make you cum here and now. Right in your pants. What a sight that would be." Heart grins evilly.
"D-darling?! W-we still have to...ngh...mmnnn go home." Alastor blushed embarrassed as he felt closer to his release but tried to hold it back.
"Oh, I feel we have reached a point of no return." Heart purred. "Of course, I could let you take me here on the desk and save you the embarrassing wet stain that would be on your pants."
"You... w-wouldn't do me so d-dirty would you c-cher?" He asked her pleadingly.
"For a gentleman like yourself, no I guess I shouldn't." She admits as she pulls him out of his pants. Then she hikes up her dress and pulls her underwear to the side. "So, I guess I should give you the pleasure of finishing somewhere appropriate."
"Mnn d-darling... you're so kind...to-a-ah...me!" He moaned as she guided him to her wet opening.
Heart took a hold of Alastor's member again and pulled him forward a little and placed his tip right at her wet entrance. "Let's try to not break the desk though, ok?" She winked.
"A-ah! Putain de merde! Petit loup... s-si bon! Mnnn" The man said as he pushed in and started to go at a fast pace against her. (Holy shit! Little wolf...s-so good)
"Si bon" She whispered back to him as she wraps her legs around his hips. (So good)
The feeling of him inside her was amazing, considering the playfulness she just had with him. They were excited and she guessed their hormones couldn't be contained right now. He was just so hard and he already started at a fast pace. She was loving the feeling of him pounding her into the desk below. Her work desk no less. God that made it hotter.
"M-mon cherie! S-si bon! Mngggh! S-sivouplait!" Alastor breathed out. (M-my dear! S-so good! please!)
"God you're so hot when you speak French." Heart growls playfully.
The man was enjoying the stroking of his ego a lot more then he thought. "M-merci mon petite l-loup-ohhh!" He threw his head back. "Mmm I'm...g-going to...d-dear!"
Heart moans. "Fuck Al, I might cum now at that." She says with her head thrown back.
"Ngh! H-Heart! Oh heart!" Alastor moaned at that, as he couldn't hold back anymore and came like a steam roller. He bucked his hips in a rhythm as he came feeling the euphoria swell around him.
Heart moaned. "Alastor!" The feeling of him cumming inside felt amazing and she huffed with her tongue hanging out.
Hearing his name set him off more as he gave another thrust with another spurt of cum. He finally finished and panted hard with a red blush on his face looking down at his love. The woman panted as she tried to catch her breath eventually from the events that just took place. After her mind started to clear she realized where they still were. In the middle of the library on the main desk. It made her blush like mad.
Alastor gave a chuckle at her when he saw her face, "My my darling, you seem to be quite flushed~" He purred after catching his breath.
"I-I am not." She dismissed and looked away to hide her blush.
"Hmm, your face says otherwise, doll. Just think of it, every time you are at your desk, you'll remember this passionate night we had right here." The radio host boops her nose with a chuckle
Heart still chuckled at that. "Well, I guess that is true. It was very wonderful and I don't regret it." She says as she looks back over to him and winks.
"Good to hear because neither do I~" He purred while leaning down to give her one more passionate kiss to seal the act they did as done.
She kisses him back with a hum. "Mmm, Al, be careful there. Might start something up again." The woman chuckled.
"Oh, I didn't know you're that up for round two already! If you're ready I can begin again." Alastor joked with a smirk, flustering the woman.
Heart blushes. "M-Maybe when we get home. I don't want to get caught on the main desk." She said a little flustered even though she wouldn't mind disgracing the main desk that people go around every day.
"Ahaha! Relax darling I was only playing; we should indeed get home." He said getting back to his posture and cleaning up with his hankie he kept. Then he stood up from the desk and straightened up his clothes and hair.
Heart did actually relax and just smiled at him with a shake of her head. "What am I going to do with you Al?" She said with a chuckle as she sat up from the desk.
"Mmm, I don't know dear ... you could do a number of things to me and I might like all of them." He booped her nose, putting his glasses back on.
Heart gave a small giggle. "I'm not going to say anything aloud. It would be inappropriate in public." She gave him a wink and ran a finger up his neck to his chin then tapped his nose.
He gave a shiver when her finger ran up his neck and gave a cocky grin. "You can tell doll, not like the books have ears and we are the only ones here." he gave a chuckle.
"This is absolutely true. We are the only ones here technically." She kisses his cheek. "You're so bad, but I love you." Heart played with his bowtie for a moment. "I wouldn't mind doing this again one night. Just the two of us. Alone in my library."
"Mmm perhaps you'd be able to read me more in depth in your library then cherie~" Alastor purred.
"You have many pages sir. I have a lot of reading to do." She purred back in return.
"Perhaps another night then you can do some late night reading my love~" The man held her chin gently then backed off with a chuckle. "Well, cher let's retire for the night and perhaps continue the study at home?" He asked holding his hand to her.
"Let's, don't want to miss the trolly back." Heart agreed as she grabs his hand and gets off the desk.
"Agreed sweet one, let's be on our way." He winked as he led her to the door.
They walked out the door of the library and Heart made sure to lock up before heading down the steps. They went to the train car stop and sat down on the bench to wait. It was already dark out now, just passed the twilight stage and the stars were coming out.
"Mmm look up there darling, the stars are out." Alastor said, pointing at them.
Heart looks up and smiles when she sees the stars. She always loved to look at the night sky. The calming of night always made her relaxed and at ease. Wondering what lies beyond their own world. If there were other forces out there. Space was something that always interested her. There were always people learning new things about the world.
The woman gave a small sigh of content, "We should go camping. Look at the stars. Fall asleep like that." Heart sat back a little on the bench, leaning on her hands. "I feel it would be fun. Just me, you and the stars." She said in a dreamy way, keeping her face to the sky.
Alastor smiled as he looked over to the woman and his heart felt aflutter. "I do love the outdoors my dear, it would be quite the little vacation for us. We can arrange it after our game night with the ladies, hm?"
Heart looks at Alastor with a smile, "I'd like that. It sounds like a plan."
"Indeed, sweet one, stick with me, I know all the secrets of the outdoors we will have a wonderful time."
"Maybe you can teach me some hunting tricks? I've always wanted to learn."
"I'd be happy to show you anything you like cher, I think you'd be outdoors material indeed."
"I'd love that. Thank you so much babe." Heart went and kissed his cheek
"Anything for you, my love." He smiled and then looked up and down the street for a moment. "Hmm, where is that train car? I know we did not miss it."
"Must be running a little late tonight." Heart shrugged as she looked around as well.
"Usually the car is never late, this is strange." Alastor said softly to himself.
Soon enough they saw the train car coming down the track, but it seemed to be going a little fast. "I think that is it?" When it got to their stop the driver put on the brakes fast and it even passed them up. Heart and Alastor looked at each other confused.
"Maybe they have a new driver today and he is still learning?" Heart wondered
The creole man looked at the car suspiciously. He had a feeling in his gut that told him something wasn't on point here. "Strange... stay close to me sweetheart... and act normal. I have an Intuition." Alastor whispered to her.
"Oh, well ok. I trust you." She whispered back and they walked up to the train car and stepped on.
Alastor held Heart close to him and paid the usual fare, this time for both of them so that she wouldn't have to take out her purse. His shadow alerted him that this indeed is off and strange. Alastor then gave it a mental command. "Inspect the car and the passengers...everyone on board. Then tell me what you find." The shadow replied to its master and did as it was told while he and Heart took their seats.
The man driving the train car kept his hat down and covered his face. All he did was tip his hat and not even speak. It set Heart off as a bad sign, usually the train car drivers were friendly and greeted everyone with a smile no matter the time of day. She held Alastor's hand tightly as she huddled close to his side. Even when they took a seat at the back of the car, she leaned against him heavily.
"You alright, cher?" Alastor asked in a whisper, keeping his eye on the passengers and driver.
Heart looked around a moment before looking back to him uneasy. "Well since you said something doesn't feel right, I noticed how off the driver seemed. Now I'm scared." She answered as she put her face in his arm.
"Hush my dear it's all right. I've got you. Just lay low and act normal. No one will lay a finger on you again." He whispered quietly, petting her head as his shadow still observed around the car.
"Thank you, Al." She says softly as she loses her grip on him a moment.
The train car was quiet and everyone wasn't talking. Usually, a few people were talking there. So having the silence just felt...awkward. The air felt thick and odd. Heart couldn't put her finger on it.
The shadow returned and revealed to its master what the discovery was. "Mobster's master, they've taken the car hostage and disguised themselves as pedestrians and the driver mixed in with the scared normal humans. They are all armed too." It said to Alastor telepathically.
"Damn... we are going to need more than a knife to take them out. Perhaps rely on you, my friend." Alastor replied in his mind, scoping them out.
"What are we going to do?" Heart wondered softly at Al. She almost felt eyes were on them even though they all had hats covering their heads.
Alastor whispers quietly, "My dearest, the next stop I'm going to take action to rid the vermin on here. We are going to pretend to get off. You shall lead and go onto the sidewalk then hide behind a bench there. I will remain in the car to take out the driver first. Trust me my love I will be all right and you will too."
"B-But Al. There are so many. You can't take them all on yourself. I don't want you getting hurt...or worse." She said to him worriedly and looked at him with fear in her eyes.
"Heart my beloved, do you trust me?" The man asked her softly.
Heart hesitated a moment but she had to trust the man. She didn't know what else to do. If he had a plan then it was better than nothing. She nodded.
"Alright then. I promise you; I'll be fine. Do as I instruct and it will be all right." He kissed her forehead.
"I'll do the best I can." Heart said quietly then nuzzled into his arm a moment.
"Good my love, just relax, we have 5 minutes until the next stop." The man kissed the top of her head.
Heart nodded and took in a deep breath to calm herself and just kept her face into Alastor's arm. She tried to just close her eyes and not pay attention to the people on the train car. She tried to take in Alastor's smells and it honestly made her feel a little better.
Soon the car was coming up ahead to the stop and Alastor nuzzled Heart to calm her, then whispered, "Remember darling, trust me and duck behind the bench. I will take care of business." He gave her a squeeze to reassure her.
"I trust you." She says as she felt the train car slow down. She tried to keep her breath calm as they soon came to a stop.
Once they stopped Alastor got up and allowed Heart to exit to lead the way up to the front. Alastor and his shadow were ready, following behind as the shadow pinpointed a tentacle to each mobster's gun to disarm them at the command. Heart let go of Alastor's hand and then got off the car first. Quickly going over towards the bench and went to hide. She didn't know what the man had in store for the men in the train car but part of her felt worried.
Once Heart was safe, Alastor turned to the driver and immediately drew a knife from his coat pocket. With swift movements the man had been killed instantly after being exposed. Then his shadow followed from the signal to disarm all the other gang Members, crushing their guns with its tentacles as it rose from the floor.
"Now...who wants to play?" Alastor asked insanely, his eyes glowing red and lunging forward to fight the next mobster.
Heart heard the splashes and slashes of things happening inside the car but she hunkered down and covered her ears from what was happening. Although now and then she would glance up out of curiosity and worry. Not much could be seen but there was a small scream and she saw blood hit the window.
The lights in the car went out as the gang members were disoriented, the remaining passengers put to sleep so their memory could be wiped. Alastor fused with his shadow to become the demon he's destined to be. Growing tall, his hair turning red with what looked like deer ears and antlers on top of his head. His yellow sharp tooth grin and his red eyes were all that could be seen in the darkened train car, striking fear into the hearts of the mobsters.
"You'll think twice about your actions... in hell~" He growled maliciously then attacked, devouring them as they fell by his hand. His shadow was the culprit of that. It needed human blood or human hearts in order to keep the deal it had giving its master the power he was using.
Heart heard a weird growling coming from the car and it made her worried and scared. The car shook with all that was happening. For a moment she saw the flashing of yellow and red that lit up the darkened car. She tucked her head back to hide it and just stayed there. The noises from the car she tried to block out as she didn't want to hear it. She tried to close her eyes and focus her breathing. Keep calm. Have her mind go somewhere else. Everything would be ok. Alastor would be ok.
After another minute everything fell silent and the lights turned on in the car. There wasn't one drop of blood in sight and Alastor was back to himself again, clean, and spiffy. He shook his head to clear any remaining fog then stepped out of the car calling for Heart. "Cher, you can come out, it's alright now."
Heart lifted her head at the sound of the man's voice. He looked safe and unharmed. That made her smile but tears still built in her eyes because of her worriedness. She stood up from where she was hiding and ran up to him. She crashed into him as she wrapped her arms around him. Putting her face in his chest and crying a little. "I'm glad you're ok."
"Oomph-! De-ear it's all right now, I promised, didn't I?" The man said to her soothingly, holding her close and letting her cry. He then allowed his shadow to appear and give her a hug too. It loved the girl like he did. Even though the shadow shared its master's emotions towards the girl, it was only slightly as it still desired that voodoo book she had in her home.
"I-I know...that doesn't mean I won't be worried still." She then felt a shiver go up her spine as she hugged the man.
"I'm sorry darling, it's all right now. Besides...you-" He inhaled. "...you should meet a part of me I've been... hiding." Alastor said a bit nervously, letting her go. His shadow self followed.
Heart looked at him confused with her tears drying on her cheeks now. "Hiding? Like what?" She was a little concerned. The coldness was lifted from her back and it wasn't bad but she still wondered what that was. This all made her start to feel uneasy.
"Here, don't be alarmed, love." Alastor then called out. "Come on out now my friend." The shadow did as it was told and carefully rose from the ground in front of Heart with its big blue eyes looking at her. It looked just like Alastor but with small tufts on its head and little antlers.
Heart stood there frozen for a moment as she watched the dark figure come out of the ground in front of her. It scared her a little. She has never seen anything like it. She knew New Orleans was full of magic and spirits but she never thought she would experience it firsthand. She took a small step back from the shadow.
"W-What is-" She couldn't even finish the sentence. Her words stuck in her throat.
The shadow wilted a minute when she stepped back and frowned sadly.
"My love...I may have tinkered with some...voodoo years ago and...this is my shadow. It is part of me, having the capabilities to feel as I do and possess powerful voodoo magic." He explains. "We...have a deal of sorts."
Heart didn't look away from the man and the shadow for a moment. Taking in the information. "So...you can do magic? Voodoo?" The woman didn't know much about magic, but she knew sometimes that it can be used for bad reasons. To control some people. It Affects them in many ways. Had...had he done anything to her?
"In a way, yes. I only use it when necessary...and don't abuse it. Papa Legba would not be pleased with me if I did." The man mentioned.
The woman felt a few tears starting to peck her eyes. "Have...Have you used it on me? Put a spell of some kind on me?"
"What...no-n-no never! Not ever my beloved...not once have I even considered it." He said his smile faltering as he reached to hold her hands.
A stray tear did eventually fall. "How can I believe you? What if you did something to yourself?" She clenched her jaw a moment. "What if everything has just been a lie this entire time?" She spoke softly as she took her hands out of his.
Alastor's smile vanished completely as a stake was driven in his heart. He lowered his head to hide tears that began to fall. It's shadow sadly floated over to its master to try and comfort him. "I thought...I-I thought you trusted me..." He sniffles. "H-how could I ever lie... with h-how I feel about you? How could I ever even think to put any kind of spell on you." Wrapped his arms around himself and turned away from her.
Seeing the way the man had reacted made her realize that everything was indeed real. Her heart constricted at the feeling and tried to look at the man's face before he turned around. She even watched the shadow creature hang around the man's shoulders.
"Al?" She said softly to get his attention, but he still had his back to her. "Al." She went around him slightly. "I'm sorry my love. Please. This is all so new to me. I don't know how to react to this news. I've only heard bad and scary things about voodoo. My grandmother used to tell me stories so...I am sorry I assumed."
Alastor trembles a little trying to hold his composure. It wasn't working very well until he finally said, "I'll... walk the rest of the way home...shadow... fetch my things off the car please." He said sadly after wiping his eyes. He turned away from her again as the shadow did as it was told, being a bit hesitant obeying, nonetheless. "No need to cook for me...I won't be coming over tonight." He sulked sniffling.
"Alastor..." She reached out for him. "Don't walk home please. I don't want to be alone." She said as she placed a hand on his back.
Shadow returned with his briefcase, coat, and hat, handing it to him. He moved out of her touch to put on his coat and hat, then took his briefcase. "Perhaps I was wrong, to try and love. Monsters aren't meant to be happy." Alastor said, beginning to walk down the street to his home. His shadow followed quickly, going back into the ground to resume its hiding. He snapped his fingers and the people in the car awoke as if nothing happened. The correct driver was even there too. They all seemed to have a headache in some way. Confused on what was happening or what had just occurred.
As Alastor walked, tears dropped down his face and hit the sidewalk. His heart was shattered and he never felt that way.
"Al, please...we can talk about this." She tried to say but he walked past her. Heart didn't argue with him as he started to walk down the street. The woman stood there crying. She fucked up so bad. How could she do such a thing to the man she loved? Of course, she trusted him. She trusted him more than anyone. Everyone…has their dirty little secrets...even her. She tried to wipe away tears but they kept coming back, the man already out of sight. "I'm sorry Alastor. I'm so sorry." She cried as she sat back down on the bench of the stop.
The train car operator saw Heart as she cried on the bench, he went down to the girl and saw how upset she was. "Miss, it's going to be all right, I don't want to leave you behind in the dark though. Would you come with me so I can take you home?" He asked gently, bending down.
Heart couldn't find her words but just nodded at the driver. She wanted to go home. At the same time, she didn't but it was the safest place for her right now. At least she hoped.
"It's all right now. Don't you even worry about the fare, let's get you home, doll." The old man said extending his hand with it was a handkerchief so she could dry her eyes.
She took the man's handkerchief and put her face into it. She then stood up from the bench. "Thank you, sir."
"You're welcome, I hate to leave a lady out here alone." The driver said and led her to the car. An open seat was right up front. Once she sat down, he rang the bell and they were off again to her home.
Once Heart sat down, she just held onto the handkerchief, dabbing her eyes now and then when tears would fall. She didn't even look up, her eyes in her lap as she looked at the cloth in her hands. All she did was feel stupid from this whole thing. Now...she doesn't know if the man she loves will come back to see her.
Alastor walked alone on the cold, empty and dark sidewalk, his heart shattered into pieces. He felt empty...even more now. He didn't know what to do with himself. His shadow tried to console him as best it could but it too felt a sadness. He's never been this quiet... not ever. He then heard the bell from an approaching train car on the road beside him and he paid it no mind.
The ride on the train car was silent, it was weird without Alastor there. Holding her hand. Laughing at something silly. Making the night go by faster. Having him kiss her. She didn't have that right now. Although when they went by the man walking outside, she didn't even notice. Her eyes were still in her lap, her mind full of thoughts and her heart empty. She started to cry again, using the handkerchief to help with her tears.
Alastor watched as the car passed him; he didn't even glance up to acknowledge it as it disappeared around the turn. He had to pass the stop and Heart's house to get to his. Honestly, he didn't care because he was so broken. The love of his life whom he gave himself to...could even ever assume he'd do such things. It made him cry again. The shadow worried for its master as they walked.
The train car pulled up to Heart's stop and she slowly got up from the seat. "If you want sir, can I wash this for you until I see you again?" She suggested as she held up the handkerchief. "Thank you for letting me borrow it." She told the driver.
The driver looked at her compassionately, "It's up to you Miss, I see you practically every day." The old man said to her softly with kind eyes and a warm smile.
"Thank you again sir." Heart said softly. "Have a good night." She exited the car and walked down the street to her home. She gave a sigh and walked up her porch to her door.
As she went to her door, she noticed a man walk by on the sidewalk. She paused a moment as she looked at the silhouette. It was remarkably familiar. Was it him? After a few more steps she could see the man better. It was him...Alastor.
She looked up and saw the figure. "Al?" She wondered. She turned away from her door and stood on the edge of her porch. "Al?" She called out a little.
He heard his name and the voice that called it. He wanted to reply but his heart sank and tugged more, hearing his name from her. The woman he loves dearly...all he did was pause just after her small sidewalk that led to her porch and stand there looking down and keeping his eyes off her. He didn't know why he stopped when all he wanted was to keep going.
Heart gripped the handkerchief she still had in hand. She had to say something to him, "Al, I'm so sorry. Please, I don't want to break your heart. Nor do I want to break mine. I love you so much."
"Shadow... did you hear something?" The man asked his counterpart in a very depressed tone as it was materializing by him from the ground.
"Alastor..." Heart said softly and a little heartbroken from the man's words. Oh god...what is she to do?
Tiny cliff hanger. Muahaha. I'll upload the next chapter next week so you're not hanging for to long. Promise
