It was many hours later that the healer finally came. She would have been there much earlier however Harry refused to let Ginny get anyone. It wasn't until the twins checked on the pair that anyone even realised Harry was awake.
When the Healer did examine Harry, she relayed his injuries.
"Mister Potter is very, very lucky. He has a swollen eye; his body is still under shock due to prolonged exposure to the cruciatus curse. His body has been subject to what can only be described as inhumane beatings. His body is recovering nicely however but he needs rest. His Ankle which I assume you remember was shattered when he was first rescued is healing nicely. All in all, Harry Potter is a bloody miracle. The trauma from his younger years should have meant his body would take longer to recover however he is healing very nicely."
The group nodded to the woman who took her leave before everyone bar Petunia made to go and see Harry. The older woman stopped, everyone followed suit and watched her, apprehensive. Remus who saw the terror written on the woman's face told everyone to go and see Harry. When they left Remus walked towards her.
"He's okay" he whispered. Petunia shook her head
"For how long Remus?" Remus looked confused so Petunia elaborated.
"I grew up with hate for magic, it only made Lily more estranged. I hated magic with my very being and I didn't even have a bad experience with it really... Harry. Harry has been hurt and abused and neglected by the magical world. Dumbledore sent him to me knowing he would have a bad upbringing; Voldemort is always trying to kill him and my god the Weasleys... I don't even know how to begin with them. What if he learned to hate magic? It is something so ingrained in him and if he doesn't use his magic, it will kill him, Remus." Remus sighed as tears began to trail down Petunia's face. He grabbed her hands
"Did you ever tell him the truth about your escape from Vernon?" he asked. Petunia shook her head
"As far as he knows I got in contact with you and we escaped with you."
"You should tell him... magic saved you both Petunia. You may have been the catalyst but his magic made it so Vernon would never bother you again." Petunia hung her head, she remembered the night they escaped, it was a terrifying and liberating experience.
"How do I tell him that Remus? How do I tell him that he nearly blew the house up? That he confounded Vernon so much that he doesn't know who we are? How would that prove that magic is good?" she asked. Remus pulled her into a hug
"That's up to you but regardless of this... he needs to see you right now" petunia sighed and pulled away. She nodded too and walked past Remus into Harry's room.
When she got there her heart melted a little, Harry was sat up, looking vibrant. Ginny was sat next to him as he had his arms around her like she was the one thing keeping him there. Sirius was telling Harry some tale about Cedric and the ministry whilst the twins added sound effects. It was almost like a normal day. One which she was about to inject herself into.
She walked forward and coughed lightly.
"Now, I know you are all more liberal than me but I thought we talked about Harry and Ginny sharing a bed?" she joked. The youngest two blushed
"Oh, come on Tuna! Young love!" Sirius joked. Petunia rolled her eyes
"Tuna?"
"Well, you won't let me call you tuney so Tuna is the closest I can get." Petunia shook her head
"Maybe I will start calling you dog, you sure act like one" Sirius pretended to be offended but was stopped when they heard two young laughs. They turned to see Harry and Ginny laughing. Petunia smiled, she missed Harrys laugh.
"You two are forgiven for today but if you ever do anything more, I will not be happy. Now Harry dear, how are you feeling?" she asked. Harry gives her a thumbs up, Petunia rolled her eyes.
"Now how are you really feeling?" she asked. At his aunt's intense gaze Harry slowly turned his thumb upside down. At this Ginny glared at him
"You told me you were fine!" she yelled exasperated.
I mean... I'm actually called Harry
"Oh, shut up Harry, you know what I mean!"
Sorry Ginny but in my defence, you looked really comfy lying on me and I didn't want to move you because you were... well I mean you hug really nice
Ginny blushed a deep shade of red as the twins tried not to laugh, how was Harry so smooth when he had no idea what he was doing?. Ginny sighed
"Okay, maybe I'll let you off just this once." Harry smiled at her, the two then entered some kind of staring match which warmed Petunia. They really were a mini-James and Lily. Petunia knew she needed to rid the room though as Harry began to slowly fatigue.
"Right, you lot, he needs rest. Everyone out!" she commanded, Harry seemed to have other ideas however as he reached for Ginny, only to be stopped by his aunt.
"Not a chance Mister, I have been more than generous to let Ginny stay with you but she hasn't showered in three days and no offence Ginny but you smell"
"Hey."
"Besides you need sleep and I know if you two are together you'll be up all night talking and you want Ginny to sleep don't you." Harry had the decency to look sheepish and let Ginny go. The room cleared, harry however grabbed Petunia's hand, she turned to look at him as he held his arms out for a hug which she was only too happy to oblige. When she pulled away, she kissed his forehead.
"Sleep Well Harry Darling" and sleep well he did.
