A/N just a quick reminder This is how harry writes with pen and paper. Using magic however to project his thoughts, like he is speaking but isn't. This is the font he will do that in.
When Ginny came home that night she went straight to her room. This didn't go unnoticed by anyone who stared after her, confused. Harry stood up and began hobbling upstairs to her room. He stood outside her room, listening to loud noises and bangs coming from within. He tensed, flashing back to his uncle hitting him and Voldemort throwing a tantrum. He knew that Ginny wouldn't hurt him however and with bated breath, he turned the doorknob and hobbled inside.
Once inside he stopped as he drank in the room. Ginny's room was usually the picture of comfort, she had Holyhead Harpies posters decorating her walls. Her bed was covered in pillows and usually had a yellow, red or blue cover on it. She had a desk pushed up against the wall with a TV above it. Now, however, her room looked trashed. Her Tv had been ripped off the wall, her bedsheets were thrown on the floor and her desk was turned upside down.
Tentatively Harry walked forward, she turned to him, tears in her eyes but a fierce determination present.
"Go away!" she yelled. Harry stopped short, he supposed he deserved that. He had after all been ignoring her. So, he stopped where he was and sat across from her. When it was clear he wasn't going to leave she sighed and turned to him.
"Why have you been ignoring me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Harry's shoulder dropped.
I got scared he admitted. Ginny rolled her eyes
"Bullshit, Harry you weren't scared you were being a coward!" she hissed. Harry bit his lip; he was a coward.
You are right. I am a coward but before I tell you why I've been avoiding you I think you should tell me why you've trashed your room he argued. Ginny looked around, suddenly realising that she had indeed lost control of her emotions. Sighing she faced her best friend.
"It's stupid. When Remus and I went into Diagon Alley I... I never realized how bad things had gotten. I knew he was back but the place was like a ghost town, people wouldn't look you in the eye, shops were shut down and we got word from an innkeeper that Hogwarts in on lockdown. They're doing a staged return, admitting the first and seventh years first and screening for the dark mark. It's just... I think it hit me we are at war and I didn't know how to handle that."
Harry bit his lip harder, he himself had spent the summer wrapped in a bubble. After all, he had spent most of his summer with Voldemort or unconscious at Potter Manor, hell he had missed both his and Ginny's birthdays and now it was nearing September. He hadn't placed any thought into the war that would ensue at Voldemort's rebirth. Ginny stared at him, waiting for his answer.
You handle it by fighting Gin... You wake up every morning and choose to be better, to educate instead of hate. Voldemort is back and things will get worse but the light side can win!
Ginny stared at the fifteen-year-old for a moment, trying to encompass what he was saying, she slowly inched towards him and grasped his hand.
"What's the point, Harry? I was fighting this war for my family who turned out to be supporting the wrong side. I was fighting this war for Fred and George but I barely see them since you gave them the money to open up their shop. I was fighting the war for you but you hate me!"
I DON'T! Harry roared, flabbergasted that she would even think such a thing. He felt his heart drop, Ginny had startled and moved away from him in fear, he reached towards her as she flinched.
Sorry... I shouldn't have yelled but I don't hate you, Ginny, I never did I just felt like you were making me lose my mind. You were making me feel things and I was scared you would want to do things but Aunt Petunia made me realise relationships don't mean adult things and I was scared that I was going to die and I don't know, I mean really this is all your fault with your face being so beautiful and your soul being so kind. And you being so goddamn cuddly and cute and.
Harry trailed off at the stunned look and Ginny's face. She shuddered and moved close to Harry once again.
"Harry, are you trying to tell me that you fancy me?" she asked, a smirk adorning her face. Harry nodded, his face staring at the floor as his cheeks became a flame. Ginny scoffed
"Harry you are so stupid for someone so smart. I think I fancy you too" she admitted, suddenly unsure of herself. Harry looked up and grinned, his face lit up like a Christmas tree.
"But I think we should set some boundaries, okay? From the sounds of it, you thought I wanted to jump in bed with you and do 'adult' things, right?" she asked. Harry nodded. Ginny blew out a breath and wiped a stray hair from Harry's face
"I don't want that Harry" Harry looked up.
"But I need to know what you want." Harry stilled, just what did he want? This kind of conversation almost never happened, usually, people just took what they wanted and left. Harry decided now would be a good time to speak up, it was a serious conversation Afterall and he knew Ginny would never hurt him for being honest. So, he squeezed her hand lightly
"I. Want to. Hold hands. I want to be your boyfriend n hug you. I not want to kiss yet" he tensed at the last request, ready for a confrontation at his last request. Ginny however merely smiled and nodded.
"Okay we can do that, I suggest if either of us feels the need to kiss each other we ask first, is that okay?" Harry nodded vigorously, happy that for once his boundaries were being respected. Ginny then stood up and helped Harry up.
"So... Are we boyfriend and girlfriend?" she asked. Harry nodded, feeling less suffocated than he had before.
"Well then, boyfriend of mine. I suggest we sort my room out and then actually eat some dinner, I kind of stormed off before we could" Harry nodded and magically restored her room. The two then walked out of her room hand in hand.
