The next few weeks passed nicely for Harry for various reasons. The main one being that he and Ginny were together, it was nice to have someone who would hold him and make him safe and Someone who he could make feel safe. She really did make fighting a war worth it.
The next reason was he felt much better medically, he had been discharged which meant he no longer had to wear crutches.
He also had decided to become more proactive; he had arranged for a meeting between Sirius and the old Order of the Pheonix members. At first, Sirius was apprehensive but harry explained that they weren't at fault for Dumbledore. Dumbledore had manipulated them as well. Their mission would be different as well. Instead of taking a defensive approach, they would take a proactive approach. Any Death eater intel would be sent directly to the Auror department via Kingsley. The orders job was merely to assist the Auror department by keeping the wizarding children safe, which meant they had to work alongside McGonagall and Hogwarts. So far, the Order members had taken on Sirius as their leader, much to Sirius's chagrin.
Harry had also written to Professor McGonagall in respect to beating discrimination. She seemed offended at first with his idea to scrap most of the house system ideals. He had proposed keeping the house system but having the houses mix for meal times and educating the students on the first wizarding war. He had Ginny message Neville and Draco, both of whom weren't close to Ginny but didn't hate her either. He wanted to find out if his imitative would work and so far, it seemed to reduce hate.
Remus had taken it upon himself to teach Harry and Ginny the things they'd need to know in terms of defence whilst Petunia taught them how to do things by hand. If there was one thing that was clear it was that Harry wasn't going to just sit back anymore.
Unfortunately, Harry getting involved meant a whole other set of problems. Mainly the Weasleys. Arthur had owled Harry to request a formal meeting, head of house to head of house. At first, harry wanted to reject the idea but he knew that would cause great insult and could possibly start a war between them both. A war Harry had no business trying to fight. As such he told Ginny that her father wanted to speak to him. She was apprehensive and didn't want to speak to her father. He may not have known everything but he still should have seen what his wife was doing. Harry had tried to placate her, saying that he at least deserved to be heard out to which Ginny replied that he was far too human. She refused to go with him and as such Harry asked the twins to arrange a meeting for him. They did as he asked and that's how Harry found himself sat across from his girlfriend's father.
They had agreed to meet up in the Burrow, probably a naive move on Harry's part.
When Harry got there, he found Arthur walking amongst the grounds, hands in his pockets. When I saw Harry, he smiled
"I didn't think you'd come"
Me either
Arthur gulped and nodded towards the outdoor table and chairs, Harry nodded resolutely and followed the Weasley patriarch.
"Now, I assume you are wondering why I requested your presence?" Arthur asked. Harry shrugged, feeling uneasy. The last time he was at the Burrow he had hexed Dumbledore and was accused of love potioning Ginny.
"Now before I say anything I first and foremost wish to apologise; Harry I wish to assure you that Molly is no longer part of this family and Ron. God bless his soul was only being directed by her, if he was still here, however, he would have been disowned as well. The Weasleys are a proud family and we do not tolerate racism or abuse from our members."
Harry nodded to show that he was listening.
"Look the reason I have asked you here is that I heard that you have reopened the order. I know that the Weasleys are probably the last people you want help from but I served in the first war. I know how these things work. I wish to join as do Bill and Charlie" Harry noticed that the third oldest seemed to be missing and stared at Arthur quizzically.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of Percy
"We... I found out that he had conspired with Molly and Ron. Unlike Ron and Molly, he wasn't under any kind of enchantment. He merely went along with it because he craved power and authority." Harry gulped. It seemed that Mr Weasley was indeed being genuine, he hoped that he was anyway. He knew losing her father had hurt Ginny. The twins were always slightly estranged from their family due to their rebellious nature but Ginny had always been a daddy's girl. She loved her family and realizing they had betrayed her had struck a nerve.
That aside having the oldest Weasleys on their side would be a good thing. They possessed old power, one that they never really touched. Arthur may have been a muggle loving fool but he was well respected and people often listened to him. Harry weighed his options. He could trust Arthur and potentially gain a new Ally or he could trust him and be betrayed again.
He knew he couldn't make his decision on his own so he sent a Patronus to three people. One who he wasn't sure would answer and two who he was sure would. Arthur raised an eyebrow at Harry's wandless magic but said nothing.
Together the pair waited for a few minutes, waiting for the sound of apparition. Arthur stared up at the three people approaching, each wearing a solemn smile.
"What's up Harry?" asked the first man, completely ignoring Arthur. Harry grinned and handed him the note. The redhead then showed it to his brother and sister.
Fred looked between his father and Harry
"You want our input on this?"
He's your father
Arthur stared between the youngest Weasleys and Harry. He had assumed that he would get Petunia, Sirius and Lupin but it appeared not. Harry and the twins discussed it for a moment whilst Arthur stared at his only daughter. It had been sixteen months since he'd last seen her and she had definitely grown. Her hair which used to be shoulder length now reached down her back and her two front teeth had been fixed. She looked happy, healthy which was all he could ask for.
"What are you looking at dad?" she asked. Arthur drew his eyes to the floor, embarrassed.
"Sorry... I just, it's been a while since I last saw you. How are you?" he asked. Ginny scoffed
"Oh, I'm great. It's not like my own mother betrayed me and wrote slanderous articles about me. Nor is it like Ron was murdered. You know dad I am just peachy." Arthur had the decency to look ashamed. Ginny could care less though, her family had deserted her, used her boyfriend and followed an idiot. If her father felt embarrassed then it was the least, he deserved.
"Ginny... I truly am sorry. I didn't know anything. I would never hurt you or the twins. I definitely wouldn't hurt Harry" he pleased. Ginny could feel her heart in her throat. She hated confrontation.
Thankfully Harry intervened before anything could start. He placed his hand in hers, squeezing her hand lightly. An action that didn't go unnoticed by Arthur. Fred and George walked back towards their father.
"I'm willing to let you start making this right," said George.
"But make no mistake, Harry may not be ruthless but we are." continued Fred.
"If you cross us or we find out that you lied about your knowledge or anything like that" George added.
"We will hunt you down and make Voldemort look like a pussy cat" finished Fred. Arthur felt slightly taken aback that his children were threatening him but he was willing to let his children do whatever they wanted if it meant they were in his life. He nodded and accepted their terms but harry announced that he had one last Weasley to weigh in. So, he turned to his girlfriend who looked sheepish at the attention she was receiving.
"I want him to take vertiserum. I need to know that he's telling the truth and only then can we move forward." Harry nodded.
I'll get in contact with Malfoy and ask for his assistance in brewing the potion. He owes Sirius for their protection anyway.
Ginny nodded, the four then bade goodbye to the Weasley matriarch but not before he called out one last sorry. Ginny turned to her father
"This is war dad, sorry don't mean anything and if I find out you're lying sorry will do you no good." Then Ginny grabbed hold of Fred and together the four apparated away.
