Delusions of Grandeur
By SMYGO4EVA

Mia had to endure. She had to endure what Sarah held for her; to be the best Living Doll she could be. She couldn't exist without her Master – or so everybody says. She was a Living Doll, and yet she was her own being.

She was Sarah's "face", who showed whatever her Master was feeling. She was to be in perfect sync, in emotion, in mind, and in movement. There were dire consequences otherwise, whenever there was one measly slipup, a wrong gesture, or a slight hesitation.

Sarah had to be the best there was, she was a Master, and Mia was her Doll. She had to keep her in line, to let her know her place. As she ran her hands up Mia's quivering back, whispering false assurances, she knew it was expected of her.

Sarah always knew what to say, and Mia always knew how to act. In the end, it was their shared goal, their ambition, to be praised, revered, beloved, and the best of the Shadows House.

They did not know this, but deep down, they might as well have.

They were falling, drowning in delusions of grandeur, and Sarah would only drag Mia down with her.
