Welcome back to the Xenoblade Heart to Hearts series. Today, we wrap up our chats in Alcamoth, as Cynder and Shulk enter conversation once again. So, what do they have to say this time? Read on to discover...
Heart to Heart 68: Darkest Visions
Participants: Cynder and Shulk
Location: Great Hall
Affiinity: Pink
Introduction
Shulk: I've got to admit. If there's one thing Alcamoth does incredibly well, it's the architecture.
Cynder: (Trying to suppress something) Yeah, it's lovely.
Shulk: (Having heard that) Is everything okay, Cynder?
Cynder: Yeah, just... a little off.
Shulk: Can I ask what's up?
Pass/Pass
Cynder: No use hiding it anymore, I guess. I've already told Dunban and some of the others. Well, it's got to do with my time under Malefor...
Shulk: That vile drake has corrupted your ability to enjoy good architecture?! Remind me to spit on his grave if I'm ever there!
Cynder: Well, it wasn't direct, to be fair. More like the thought of what he'd do has ruined it.
Shulk: Okay, now you've got me both intrigued and confused.
Cynder: Let's just say his followers, and even Malefor himself in my mind, were not shy about reminding me I was his property once he had taken over. Mind, body, and soul. Emphasis on the second one, since there's probably children in listening distance.
Shulk: Oh. (Puts it together) Oh!
Cynder: Exactly. And he always said he'd have his way with me in my old lair's great hall, which looks eerily like this place.
Shulk: That is just wrong on so many counts!
Cynder: You're telling me. (Sighs) Maybe that's why I'm so worried about Spyro.
Shulk: You think he might turn out like that?
Cynder: There's only been two Purple Dragons, and the first one turned out bad.
Shulk: Spyro's too kind to turn out like that! I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

Pass/Fail

Shulk: Okay, now you've got me both intrigued and confused.
Cynder: (Shuddering a bit) I'm sorry, It's... it's just too much to recount. I can't go on.
Shulk: (Realizing this is as far as Cynder's willing to go right now.) It sounds like it was horrifying.
Cynder: Horrifying in potential alone. That's all I'll say for now.
Shulk: I can understand that. Say no more.

Fail/Pass
Cynder: Should I tell him? I mean, I've told a few of the others. To be honest, I'm not sure about a lot of the details.
Shulk: That's no issue! I can help you through it with the details you've got.
Cynder: Damn it. There's no dissuading this guy. Well... okay...
Shulk: So what've you got?
Cynder: All I can recount without breaking into tears and tremors is that it involved threats of what Malefor would do to me in my old lair's great hall.
Shulk: If you failed?
Cynder: Regardless.
Shulk: (Puts it together) Oh... Oh! Say no more, definitely something to discuss in a public place!
Cynder: I don't know whether to be relieved that he put it together or not...

Shulk: That's no issue! I can help you through it with the details you've got.
Cynder: How the hell am I supposed to throw him off!? There's not much. Just involves a bunch of threats from Malefor.
Shulk: (Thinks about it) Yeah, that probably isn't a lot, since he probably threatened a lot of people for a lot of reasons.
Cynder: Yeah. I'd say that's probably enough to table this for now.
Shulk: Okay. I know I should be pushing for more information, since she clearly knows more, but I don't want to hurt her. Not after all she's been through.
