A/N: This chapter brought to you by the long waiting in the DMV. There may not be a Future Arc but Byakuran still ended up causing time traveling shenanigans. As always, hope you all enjoy and feel free to leave a review.

Unlikely Trio

"Why won't you just go back to Italy?" Shizuka asks in frustration. Like it wasn't bad enough that Byakuran was trying to poach Verde, the idiot was also hogging Tsuna! None of Tsuna's guardians had taken Byakuran's antics well, especially when Byakuran happily explained that he'd hunted down and killed their counterparts in other worlds.

"But it's so boring there!" Byakuran complains. Tsuna sweat dropped, the older teen was a bit clingy but he preferred this over a mafia war. "You're from one of the most culturally rich countries on the planet, you can find something!" Shizuka snapped.

In the background Verde was examining the Ten-Year Bazooka, muttering to himself. A sleek black tail obscured his vision. "Get away from my table you little demon!" Kuro yawned, his tail brushing Verde's face.

Verde's eye twitched as went to the ammo crate, intent on using it to get the menace out of his lab. "Verde don't even think about it!" One of the bullets was a slightly different color, the scientist loaded it into the bazooka. "I am going to use this if the two of you don't stop bickering!"

Shizuka took one look at the dark bags under the scientist's eyes and decided not to press her luck. She was well aware that a sleep deprived Verde was a petty and vengeful Verde. Byakuran didn't witness these events and proceeded to be even more irritating.

Instead of a pink smoke, all three teens were engulfed by orange smoke. Verde sighed in relief, leaning back in his chair. "Finally, peace and quiet." He yawned, closing his eyes for a short nap.

Tsuna, Byakuran and Shizuka all landed on the ground with a heavy thud. "You idiot! Why would you piss off a sleep deprived scientist? Do you want to delete yourself from existence?" Shizuka demands, attempting to strangle the albino. Tsuna barely held her back.

"It's not too big of a deal, we should only be here for five minutes. Right?" Tsuna asks, Shizuka deadpanned. "Tsuna-nii, we're trouble magnets. Nothing is ever that simple." She says bluntly.

They were in a forest with no notable landmarks, the only sign of civilization a paved road two miles from where they were. It took more than five minutes to walk the distance, Tsuna's face paled. "Byakuran-san? Is it possible that we might be in Italy?" He asks shakily.

Byakuran shrugged. "Looks like a normal road to me. Let's see what's going on in our future." He says with an impish grin.

Shizuka fidgeted nervously, trying not to show her concern. They didn't know where they were and, from what she could tell, they were isolated from their guardians. "I hate to admit it but he may have a point. We need to know more about our surroundings, we don't know how much time will pass here before Verde brings us back."

She glared at Byakuran. "Don't get used to it."

Byakuran just mimed zipping his lips with a mischievous glint in his eyes, Tsuna sighed.

Natsumi sighed, it was time to check on Verde and Shizuka again. One to make sure he didn't starve himself, the other to make sure she didn't kill Byakuran. The lab doors slid open, revealing Verde sleeping at his computer and a large scorch mark on the ground. "Verde! What the hell happened?" Natsumi demands.

Keiman unfurled from his sleeping position, pointing to the ammunition box with his snout. He then smacked Verde's chair aside with his tail, the scientist tumbling to the ground. "What is it?" Verde grumbled.

"Where's Shizuka?" She demands. Verde looked up at a clock, brows furrowed. "They should have returned by now."

"Great, you managed to lose two mafia heirs and our Sky. And don't you deny it, you would've left for Italy if you didn't have something anchoring you here." Natsumi could feel her flames reaching out for someone that wasn't there, it wouldn't be long before everyone noticed the three Skies absences.

An explosion outside shook the lab. The peace was nice while it lasted. Natsumi thought.

"This isn't the future. Not unless we had a nuclear winter and civilization was sent backwards." Shizuka says, wishing that she couldn't smell the horses walking the streets. The amount of layers the ladies wore looked sweltering, the unwilling time travelers sticking out.

"I never thought I'd be glad that Reborn drilled Italian lessons into my head." Tsuna admits, shivering as he remembered being blown up multiple times for incorrect answers. "Yeah, it's great hearing them gossip about a demon and harlot." Shizuka says in slight irritation. It wasn't like she was wearing a mini skirt or anything that would've warranted the comment. And there was no way she was wearing an outfit so constricting.

"It isn't anything I haven't heard." Byakuran states. For a brief moment the older teen looked melancholy before switching back to his usual mischievous demeanor. Maybe he isn't as unaffected being seen as a monster as he pretends to be. Tsuna thought.

"How are we going to call attention to where, and when, we ended up?" Shizuka asks, Tsuna deadpanned. "Let's think about getting shelter and something to eat first."

Shizuka looked around, noting the amount of feral cats walking the streets. "I might have a few ideas. How do you feel about crime?"

Tsuna face palmed, Byakuran raised an eyebrow. "Being heirs to mafia families, isn't consent for that already implied?"

"I was asking Tsuna; I already know you'd have no hesitation killing someone. Not that my plan involves murder or anything!" Shizuka reassures her brother.

"Then what is your plan?" Tsuna asks, Shizuka grinned. "We're going to find the most corrupt aristocrats and rob them blind."

"Couldn't we try something that won't get us arrested first? Like performance art?" Tsuna asks.

"Do you have any talents you've been hiding from me these past thirteen years? And I don't know if juggling daggers is a good idea."

Byakuran looked thoughtful for a moment. "How skilled are you at throwing darts?"

"Average? The difference in weight throws off the accuracy I have with throwing knives." Shizuka says.

"Shizuka, what exactly have you been learning from Baku?" Tsuna asks, Shizuka shrugged. "Gramps has a cool trick with knives and Cloud flames. I can mimic it but it doesn't have the same impact."

Byakuran nodded in understanding. "The difference between creating more physical weapons and illusions."

Tsuna didn't know what to think about his sister and Byakuran finding common ground in using flames as weapons. At least Shizuka didn't look ready to punch the Italian for once.

In the end, it was decided that Shizuka would break into the police station to look for evidence of bribery for potential targets.

"Hopefully they keep records, otherwise this is going to be a waste of energy." Shizuka grumbled.

Most of the prisoners were dressed in worn clothing, shivering from the cold and hunger. She walked past them with gritted teeth, this was the past. They just needed to survive while making as minimal an impact as they could.

Tendrils of flames picked pockets of officers that looked well off, the teen not feeling the slightest bit of remorse. It was petty but she couldn't afford to do something drastic like freeing prisoners and replacing them with the officers. No matter how tempting the idea was.

When she finally reached the administrative office, she peered into the room cautiously. Shizuka froze when she saw someone that looked like Kyoya if he'd been a full blooded European. The blond looked up from a file and Shizuka prayed that the man wouldn't see through her Mist flames.

Great, I didn't think we'd be in Primo's time period! Shizuka thought in exasperation. And given that all the Hibari family were flame sensitive, she would have to wait until the man left. This brought up a whole list of landmines now including trying not to run into their ancestor Giotto.

This also brought up another question. Was Vongola already formed in this time? Or was this before?
