6/24/2021: The update on were I announce that I would be going back and editing because of some mistakes. One of them was the lack of Hiccup's prosthetic leg. I felt like this was the perfect chapter to go back and add where they notices it. Also I forgot to have Astrid get her axe back so now I've when back and added that. I also wanted to fix the ending of Hiccup's and Stoick's argument. I felt like I rushed it and I know you guys saw it. So adding the prosthetic into the argument I felt would make it feel as rushed.

"What were you about to say, Hiccup?" Stoick questions his once to be thought to be dead son. He had a feeling that Hiccup was hiding something from him. He was determined to figure out what that was.

"It's nothing. Yup, absolutely nothing," Hiccup replied to his father. He just could not allow his father to find out how Valka died. It could lead to more problems than they needed right now. But at the same time, he knows that Stoick deserves to know what really happened to his wife. Maybe he could tell him what happened after showing them how to train dragons. If Hiccup was lucky, Stoick would not hold Toothless responsible for what Drago forced his Night Fury to do.

"It sure as hell didn't sound like nothing. I'll ask again, Hiccup. What were you about to say?" the chief of Berk had demanded more forcibly than before. He forgotten how stubborn his son could be when Hiccup wanted to. He remembered all the headaches that came from his sarcastic son. Oh, how he oddly missed these back and forth conversations with his son.

"Just forget I even said anything. Right now, we need to discuss what we're going to do. I suggest that you guys leave for somewhere safer until all this mess is cleared up." The moment Hiccup had suggested that the villagers leave their home of seven generations caused an uproar from the Berkians. What did their former heir mean leave their home? Did he forget that they were Vikings? Vikings defend their homes from their enemies. "Let me explain, please," Hiccup tried to reason with them, but unfortunately his voice was lost in a sea of disappointed voices of the villagers. That was when Astrid threw her axe to a hut with deadly accuracy. That silenced everyone as she glares at them.

"Hear him out first before you all speak your opinions," Astrid demanded her former tribe. Nobody from Berk still did not want to cross paths with an angry Astrid Hofferson.

"Thanks, Milady. Anyway, I do know you guys don't think leaving is an option. What choice do you really have at the moment? What do you guys think will happen now with the dragon hunters and trappers knowing Astrid and I are the Dragon Master and Mistress? That the both of us are from here? I'll tell you what they're going to do. They'll just keep on attacking here to draw me and Astrid out. I'm not suggesting this is gonna be a permanent stay. After we deal with them, you all can come back here to live your lives in peace without Astrid and I. Right now, we got to deal with Grimmel and the rest of our enemies." Hiccup delivers a small speech so that the villagers could fully understand their situation. Looking around, trying to see if his words had done the desired effect he was looking for. To his great surprise, his speech had done what he was hoping for.

"Where do we go, laddie?" Gobber asked his former apprentice. He was saddened that Hiccup said he would not live with them on Berk. But it also made sense that his former apprentice felt like that, but that does not mean he likes it. Hiccup was not a child anymore and can make his own decisions on where he lived at. The blacksmith also knows that Stoick would not be to pleased with the idea of Hiccup and Astrid not living on Berk. He was willing to do almost anything if it meant spending time with Hiccup. No matter how small that time was.

"There isn't enough space on New Berserker Island because they're getting ready to unite with the Defenders of the Wing. Only the women and children would be welcome to the Wingmaidens. So that only leaves one option left. You guys can stay on Astrid's and my new home island. It'll be faster if I teach you guys how to train dragons," Hiccup answered the blacksmith's question. That only lead to another uproar from the villagers. Hiccup tried again to calm the villagers but sadly his words fell on deaf ears.

"EVERYONE, SHUT THE HELL UP!" Astrid yelled at the top of her lungs. She knew that they would not go anywhere with everyone talking at the same time. Silence was the only thing anyone could hear. You could hear a pen drop after Astrid screamed. The only person she wanted to hear at the moment was her betrothed.

"Thanks again, Milady. Do you guys want to be stuck on a boat for a few weeks or months? Or would you rather get to our island in a few hours? I don't know about you, but I would much rather get there in a few hours than weeks or months. It's your choice, so pick wisely." Hiccup gives the villagers an ultimatum.

"By the way Hiccup what in the name of Loki's mischief happened to your leg?!" Stoick shouted his question while gesturing towards Hiccup's prosthetic. The question got the attention of the villagers. Do to everything that has happened in the past three days, none of the Berkians even notices the Hiccup's prosthetic. The people of Berk all gave their former heir sympathetic looks as they wondered how the auburn hair man had lost part of his leg.

Hiccup is squirming under the eyes of everyone on him. Hiccup is shocked that even after all these years he still cannot stand everyone from his former village staring at him. "Look I lost it years ago. It's not a big deal." He did not want to explain the story of when he and Astrid had accidentally discovered the dragons nest. And ultimately the fight between the Red Death and them. He felt like right now was not the right time for that story to be told.

"No big deal! Hiccup, you leave for six years without a care in the world! The both of you ran off with those good for nothing beast without any responsibilities whatsoever, while we all mourn for both Astrid and you! Now you come back here with a prosthetic and tell me that it's not a big deal!" Stoick hollered at Hiccup.

"I didn't leave here without any care in the world. The past six years I've went against so many cruel people that have harmed not only innocent dragons but people as well. So don't tell me that Astrid and I haven't had it difficult. And also, don't assume that Astrid and I didn't have any responsibilities."

"You could've fooled me." Stoick then starts to theorize on what might have happened to his son's leg. 'Maybe the Night Fury did this.' The chief of Berk thinks to himself. If that was the case? He could use that has a tactic to make Astrid and Hiccup to stay without their dragons. "Did that Night Fury do that to you?!"

"No, it wasn't Toothless' fault that I lost my leg." Hiccup knows that if he revealed that Toothless had to bite Hiccup's leg to save his life. Stoick would not hesitate to attack the Night Fury before Hiccup could explain the reason Toothless did what he did. It was better to not disclose that information yet.

"You expect me to believe that the so called, 'Unholy offspring of lightning and death itself.' Is some kind of lovable and loyal house pet. Hiccup are you serious!? Did you two forget the hundred innocent lives lost to those beast?!"

"And we've killed thousands of innocent dragons for no reason! Dad I know that you're not going to instantly forgive the dragons for what happened. Don't you see that living peacefully together is possible? Please could you at least try for me?" Hiccup could feel the last of his patients running thin. The former heir is known for his large amount of patients. But his father's consent yelling about how evil dragon were is tearing Hiccup's patients. "Besides Toothless isn't a pet, but my partner and best friend."

"I'm sorry Hiccup! I'm not going to forgive them after everything that they did! Call it whatever it is you want to call your relationship with that Night Fury! It's still goes against nature for the both of you to be friends with those mindless beasts," Stoick shouted at his son. "Before we even give you two our answer, I've a question I'll like to ask. What did you mean when you said we can come back here and live our life peacefully? Why aren't you two not coming back? This is your home, your tribe. You two are going to come and live with us again. Once you two do that you'll get rid of your dragons. No more of this training dragons." Stoick ordered his son. He would be damned to let his son leave again.

Hiccup looked at his father in disbelief. Did his father really order him around like he was still a child and still insult his and Astrid's friendships with dragons? He knows that he should not be shocked from how his father acted. But somehow he was stunned that his father did that.

"I'm sorry dad but I don't belong here. Berk has never felt like home to me, so I'll continue to live on my island with my wife and the dragons we've saved over the years. I'm not a child anymore so you can't boss me around. Astrid and I also haven't been a part of the tribe for six years now." Hiccup replied to his father's order. Hoping he made it clear that he would not return to Berk after all of this was over.

"I'm your father and you'll do what I say! I order you to get rid of that dragon of yours! And stop saving and training dragons! You hear me! Those mindless beasts killed so many humans over the years, including your mother!" Stoick lost his temper, yelling his demands towards his son. The chief of Berk did not mean to lose his temper like that. It was just that his son could be very stubborn at times. Why could his son not understand that dragons were cold-blooded killers and thieves from the depths of hell?

"Why should I listen to you?! When all my life you wouldn't listen to me?! You didn't listen to me when I told you I downed a Night Fury! The same Night Fury that would later become my best friend! You didn't listen when I told you I wasn't a dragon killer! Now, you're not listening to the advice I'm telling you! It's always about what you want, but never what I needed! And if anyone is to blame for my mother's death, it would be me, not the dragons, that should bare the blame!" Hiccup argued back by yelling at his father. Hiccup is someone who rarely raises his voice to anyone. It was as silent as humanly possible. Everyone was in a disbelief state seeing Hiccup yelling at someone. "I'm going to go feed Toothless and the Light Fury some fish. I'll most likely be back tomorrow for your answer." With that, Hiccup stormed away from everyone.

"Hiccup, wait?" Astrid cried out to her retreating boyfriend. Once Hiccup is out of her sights, the blonde haired woman turns her attention towards the chief of Berk. She gave a fierce glare aimed at the chief, one that is promising harm to whoever hurts her Hiccup again. "I hope you're proud of yourself, father-in-law? If you think we're going to move back here when you lot still kill innocent dragons, then you're in for a rude awakening." Astrid is turning back towards the direction Hiccup had gone. Just when Astrid was about to follow Hiccup she hears her mother calling out to her.

"Astrid wait! It might be better to let Hiccup cool down alone. Meanwhile, Gunner, you, and I could spend some time together. You can bring that Nadder of yours with you, if you like," Hilda requested, hoping to make up for lost time. She knows she and her husband cannot force their daughter to stay. After all, Astrid Hofferson is a grown woman that is more than capable of making her own choices in life. All she could do is show that she was willing to change her views on dragons. So, might as well get to know the Deadly Nadder her daughter named "Stormfly" as well.

"Alright, but later in the evening, I'm going to check on Hiccup," Astrid agreed. She figured her mother was correct about leaving Hiccup to himself as he calmed down, but she was still worried about him. This also allowed her to spend time with her parents. Her plan is to stay the night at her parents and leave to get the dragons from her home. That is, if the villagers of Berk agree to train dragons. She figured she might as well start with her parents. Astrid then goes and retrieves her axe. Before the blonde dragon rider could follow her parents to their hut, Heather would say.

"Dagur and I are heading out now. Don't want Johann and the others getting too far now, don't we?" With that being said, both Berserker siblings got onto their dragons, before taking off to go and spy on their enemies' ship.

"I might as well head back to New Berserker Island to inform the others of what transpired here," Eret said as he too got on his dragon and taking off.

Astrid followed her parents to their hut while staying close to Stormfly. The Deadly Nadder was keeping her distance from the villagers. Even though she knows Astrid would not let anyone harm her, Stormfly still felt uneasy with the hostile looks that the Berkians are giving her. Noticing the expression on her dragon, Astrid pets the dragon to bring comfort. "It's going to be okay, girl. I'm not going to let anyone harm you," the blonde haired woman said in her most calming tone. Stormfly purrs in delight from both the words of Astrid and the petting.

Astrid's parents watched amazed as the usually fearsome Deadly Nadder is purring like a kitten from the kind words from their daughter and the gentle touch. Were Hiccup and Astrid right about dragons all along? What Gunner wanted to know was why the Flightmare killed his brother. There had to be a reason to why that happened. "If dragons are truly good, then why did the Flightmare kill your uncle, my brother?" Gunner asked Astrid, seeking the truth about his brother's death. That is when Astrid, Gunner, Hilda, and Stormfly stopped walking.

"About two years after Hiccup and I left Berk, we encountered a wild Flightmare eating glowing algae. I foolishly charged it with the intent of harming it for what its species did to Finn. I was still not over what happened to Finn all those years ago. However, it sprayed me with some kind of mist that left me completely paralyzed. The Flightmare rushed towards me, most likely to kill me. Luckily Hiccup, Stormfly, and Toothless were there to save me," Astrid answered her father's question. The realization of Finn Hofferson not dying a coward hit both of her parents hard. "That's when both Hiccup and I figured out that certain algae grow on Berk, every Aurvandil's Fire. That Flightmare was just protecting its food source. Still, Flightmares aren't going on my favorite dragons list anytime soon."

Astrid notices the uneasy expression of her parents when looking at Stormfly. That was when an idea came to her. Why not to show them that dragons were not mindless beasts? It would help both her parents and dragon to get along with each other. "Do you guys want to pet her?" Astrid asked her parents as she gestured towards her Deadly Nadder.

"Are you sure about this?" Gunner asked as he watched the say Nadder uncertain.

"Yes, I'm sure about this. Do you trust me?" Astrid responds, hoping to at least convince her parents. Hilda and Gunner both sigh before they would reply to their daughter at the same time.

"Yes, we trust you, Astrid."

"The first thing I need you to do is unarm yourselves of any weapons you may have," Astrid told her parents. Hilda and Gunner gave their daughter uncertain expressions. "Trust me on this. When approaching a dragon that doesn't know you, it's best to not have any weapons on you, so that way the dragon won't think you're about to attack it. That way, you also could avoid conflict with the dragon altogether."

Both Hofferson parents had reluctantly removed their axes from their backs. Once the weapons were not on them, Stormfly immediately relaxed. This did not go unnoticed by the three Hoffersons. "See how Stormfly became less hostile towards you, when you got rid of your axes? Now, next I need you to raise an arm up with an open palm like this," Astrid says as she shows them an example. Her parents wore a confused expression as they mimic their daughter's actions. "Now, look the other way. You want her to see that you're completely harmless. You also want her to come to you." Stormfly makes her way towards them slowly, but stops when she senses Astrid's parents were nervous. "Don't be scared or be nervous. Dragons could sense when you're scared or nervous. It makes them nervous when you're nervous or scared," Astrid informed her parents.

Hilda and Gunner take a deep breath to calm their nerves. The dragon senses that and started to walk slowly towards her rider's parents again. Stormfly's horn came in contact with her rider's parents' palms. Both Hilda and Gunner gasped when they felt the horn on Stormfly's face. They did not expect the Deadly Nadder to make a gentle touch. Maybe dragons were not cold-blooded murderers when not provoked. Just when her parents were about to say something, they were interrupted by Tuffnut shouting out excited on what he witnesses.

"Amazing! Can you teach us the ways of the dragons?! Think of all of the chaos we'll be able to do with a dragon, dear sister?!" What Astrid, Stormfly, and her parents did not know was that Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Fishlegs, and Snotlout were following them. What they had witnessed made them want a dragon for different reasons.

"Yes, dear idiot brother of mine. All the chaos and mayhem we could do with dragons," Ruffnut says walking in front of Astrid. Both twins were giving the blonde haired woman their best puppy eyes. The thought of the twins with dragons sent chills down not only down Astrid's spine but her parents' as well.

"Before I even teach you two how to train dragons, there is going to be some strict rules for you two to follow," Astrid instructed the two chaotic twins. She did know that without rules on dragon training, you were just asking for trouble. She had a dragon in mind for them back on her island. She hopes she would not regret giving the twins a certain Zippleback.

"Just imagine all of the knowledge we can learn about dragons." Fishlegs could not contain himself in his excitement for learning more on dragons. This left the twins and Snotlout to roll their eyes.

"Well, you can now geek out with Hiccup. I know that the both of you guys would appreciate someone else to geek out on dragon facts," Astrid told the large, but gentle Viking. Hearing that filled him with hope that he could become friends with Hiccup. He had always felt guilty for not standing up for his former heir. Now, he is getting a second chance to right his wrongs and he would not let it go to waste.

"Whatever Hiccup could do, I could do better," Snotlout bragged. He thought that he could win Astrid over if he could train a dragon like Hiccup did.

"Whatever you say, Snotlout," Astrid answered the heir of Berk. She knows right now she has to wait for the the Council of Berk to decide on if they should go along with what Hiccup said or not. She knew at the moment that was all they could do. She hopes they would be in agreement with her betrothed about training dragons.

I do apologize for the delay but I had family over. So, I couldn't work on this chapter as much as I would've to liked. It looks like the gang is interested in training dragons. I felt like they would be some of the first of the villagers to want to train dragons. I do hope you all enjoyed the chapter. I would like to thank everyone that has followed, favorited, and reviewed this story so far. I do hope you all have a wonderful day and stay safe out there and I will see you in the next update. =)
