Walking towards Astrid's parents' house is one Hiccup Haddock. Hiccup is wearing his flight suit. Hiccup's plan for today's lesson would need to demonstrate the trust between rider and dragon, so his flight suit was required if something went wrong. While he is walking, Hiccup is being escorted by both Toothless and the Light Fury. Each dragon is on one side of him. The dragon rider is wearing his signature flight suit because today's lesson had trust in your dragon. The moment Hiccup is a few meters away from Hofferson's home, Gobber appeared out of nowhere. "Good morning, Laddie," Gobber greeted Hiccup as the blacksmith let himself be known.
"Good morning to you too, Gobber," Hiccup greeted back to his former teacher and close friend.
"Headin to see your Lassie," Gobber asked. The blacksmith from Berk had been heading towards the arena for today's lesson. As Gobber is walking, he spots Hiccup heading towards the Hofferson's. Gobber decided to greet his former apprentice as he made his way to his future in-laws' home. Gobber was also not alone when he approached Hiccup. Like his former apprentice, he was accompanied by his dragon, Grump.
Grump is a brown and gray scaled Hotburple. When Gobber first locked eyes on the dragon during yesterday's lesson, he had an unreal feeling. It was like Gobber and Grump were meant to become great friends. Hiccup had told them that is the sign that stood for the bond between both humans and dragons intended to be. So far, it had been a great beginning of a friendship between Gobber and Grump.
"Yeah, I was going to Astrid," Hiccup replied. Hiccup had planned to have breakfast with Hilda, Gunner, and Astrid before heading towards the arena. Besides, Hiccup realized that he must tell Astrid what happened last night.
"Ya don't mind if we join ya?" Gobber figured that he might as well join Hiccup. Besides, it would give Gobber some time to spend with Hiccup and get to know the woman Astrid grew up to become.
"Sure, I don't mind at all," Hiccup replied to Gobber's request. With that, Hiccup, Gobber, and their dragons continued their way towards Gunner and Hilda's home, where hopefully Astrid is. A few minutes would pass before they had made it to the Hofferson's residence. Hiccup would walk up to the door before knocking on it.
Gunner opens the door to see Hiccup, Gobber, and their dragons outside, waiting for the door open by a Hofferson family member. "Well, good morning, Hiccup and Gobber. Please, make yourself at home," Gunner greets his guests while he lets the three inside his home. Hiccup and Gobber went inside while the three dragons stayed outside. When Hiccup is about to ask Gunner where Astrid is, Gunner would tell Hiccup, "Hilda is helping teach Astrid how to prepare food." This information relieved Gobber that he would not have anything that Astrid had made. Because Hilda, unlike Astrid or Valka, knows how to make food properly.
The moment Hiccup and Gobber made it into the house, the three men heard a crash alongside Astrid yell. Immediately, the three of them made their way into the kitchen to see what had happened. Once the three men made it to the kitchen, they saw Astrid lying on the ground with bread dough covering her face. Hiccup would help Astrid get the dough off her face before he would help her get back on her feet. "Thanks, Babe," Astrid thanks Hiccup for helping her.
"You're welcome, Milady. By the way, what happened?" Hiccup replied before tossing the dough away.
"I was learning to properly make bread before accidentally tripping," Astrid answered Hiccup's question, embarrassed for what had occurred. "Babe, how did your night with Stoick go?" Astrid asked, hoping, wishing, and silently praying that Hiccup and Stoick made some progress fixing their relationship.
"It went better this time," Hiccup answers Astrid's question. "Although he didn't believe me about us finding Mom," Hiccup would add to his response to Astrid's question. In which that statement earned him an annoyed glare from Astrid. The shield-maiden had not wanted her mother to know that Astrid and Hiccup found the thought to be dead Valka yet. Instead, Astrid wanted Hilda to learn what Valka did slowly and learn about the chieftess's ultimate sacrifice of her life to save Hiccup's life.
Astrid knows that this will only open old wounds, but at the same time, it is necessary to tell Hilda what happened to Valka. Astrid understands she cannot hide what happened at the battle against Drago from her mother forever. Astrid sighs, not looking forward to breaking the announcement that Valka abandoned Berk.
"What?! Hiccup, Valka was taken a dragon years ago. There's no way that she is alive," Hilda quickly says, denying any hope that her best friend survived. Besides, Hilda believed that Valka would have found a way to get back here. Hilda could not see her best friend abandoning everyone Valka had ever known.
"Uh… Mrs. Hofferson, you see, last year Astrid and I kinda ran into my mom," Hiccup started to explain the events a year prior as nervous as he's ever been. Hiccup never had been a fan of bringing unwelcome news to anyone. Hiccup, at this moment, wished that he never accidentally announced his mother.
"Yes, Mama, we came across Valka after a group of dragon trappers accused Hiccup and me of destroying their operation," Astrid added to help Hiccup tell Hilda what happened with Valka. Astrid knows that Hiccup was never good at delivering depressing statements to people, so she decided to help Hiccup by convincing her mother of what Valka did.
"No, Valka would never abandon everyone she has ever known," Hilda replies while shaking her head no in denial. Hilda could not fathom the idea that her best friend would do something like that. It had not made any sense to Hilda. "That had to be someone else," Hilda added after shaking her head. Denial was the only weapon Hilda had. Because if Hilda chooses to believe what Hiccup and Astrid are saying, it would mean that Valka had left everyone that she had ever known with the thought that she died all the while Valka was alive. Hilda honestly did not believe her gentle-hearted friend would do something like that.
"Unfortunately, Mom, it is true. Valka even asked me if I was your daughter," Astrid explained to her mother. Astrid honestly did not want to be doing this. The best thing for Hilda was to learn the truth about Valka.
It was then that Hiccup had an idea to prove that he and Astrid had found Valka. Hiccup wished this idea had come to him last night, but he guesses that it is better late than never. So Hiccup started to sing, "I'll swim and sail on savage seas with never a fear of drowning. And gladly ride the waves of life if you will marry me. No scorching sun nor freezing cold will stop me on my journey. If you will promise me your heart. And love me for eternity. My dearest one, my darling dear, your mighty words astound me. But I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me. But I would bring you rings of gold; I care not for your poetry. I only want your hand to hold. I only want you near me. To love and kiss to sweetly hold. For the dancing and the dreaming. Through a life's sorrows and delights, I'll keep your laugh inside me. I'll swim and sail on savage seas with never a fear of drowning. And gladly ride the waves of life if you will marry me."
Hilda had tears in her eyes from hearing Valka and Stoick's love song. Hilda had not listened to that song since Valka had gotten married to Stoick. "That doesn't prove to me that person you came across was Valka. All I know is that Stoick might've sung you that song," Hilda says, still in denial of what Hiccup and Astrid had told her. Nevertheless, Hilda could not throw out the possibility that Hiccup heard that song from Stoick.
"I'm sorry, Hilda, but Stoick had never sung that song since Valka disappeared," Gobber told Hilda as the tears were also going down his cheeks. Gobber could not understand why Valka did something like this. Gobber, like Hilda and Gunner, had not believed Hiccup and Astrid when the dragon riding couple said that they found Valka, but hearing Hiccup sing For the Dancing and Dreaming had been enough to prove that Hiccup and Astrid had run into Valka. The question Gobber wanted to know was where Valka was at that very moment. And why did Valka never return if that dragon had never killed her? "Lad, where is Valka at now?" Gobber asked so he could question Valka for what she did. That statement from Gobber had broken Hilda's hope that Valka did not abandon Berk. It was not like Hilda wanted Valka to die because it was the opposite. The idea that Valka openly chose to have everyone in Berk believe that she has died did not sit well with Hilda.
Hiccup looked down as the memory of what happened to his mother came rushing through his mind. Astrid had grabbed Hiccup's hand to bring needed comfort to Hiccup. "She was murdered last year," Hiccup spoke ever so softly that everyone almost did not hear him.
"Could you enlighten us on how she died?" Gunner requests sadly.
"Last year, a couple of trappers accused Astrid and me of destroying their ships and freeing the dragons that they captured. They had told us that a man named Drago would have all the dragons under his control, and Drago would eliminate anyone against him. So, to prevent a war from breaking out, I went looking for Drago-," Hiccup started to tell the story, but was interrupted loudly by Gobber.
"So that's why ya were tingled up with Drago?!" Gobber wondered what business Hiccup and Astrid had with Drago ever since Hiccup mentioned Drago. If Stoick's story about what Drago murdering ally chiefs is true, and Gobber did not doubt it because Stoick rarely lied to him, then Gobber wants to know what could have happened when the two young adults came across the ferocious man.
"Wait? Gobber, do you know who Drago Bludvist was?" Hiccup asked Gobber, shocked that the blacksmith knew about Drago. Hiccup figured that no one in Berk knew anything about Drago.
Gobber slowly nods his head as he answers, "Your father told me a disturbing story about when Drago massacred a group of chiefs. Stoick was the only one to walk away with his life at night." This information stunned Hilda and Gunner.
"Yeah, that does sound like something he would do," Astrid says, revolted at the actions of Drago.
"You two weren't hurt, were you? So what did he do to Valka?" Hilda asked worriedly about what had happened. Hilda figured that this Drago handled Valka's death from where the story was heading. And if Drago put the finger on her daughter or future son-in-law, Hilda would get revenge on Drago for killing Valka and need damage done to Astrid or Hiccup. An expression like a livid Astrid was on Hilda's face, which sent a chilling shiver down Hiccup's spine. Hiccup then rubs the back of his head nervously.
Like anyone else from Berk, Hiccup knows that Astrid inherited her ferocious temper from her mother. Hiccup learned that anyone should never get between a mother and her child. "No, Astrid and I didn't get injured. Anyway, back with the story. Those trappers thought Astrid and I worked for the so-called 'Masked Rider.' It piqued my curiosity, so I headed out to find Drago to convince him not to go down the path of war. Fortunately for us, the Masked Rider was looking for Astrid and me for our help," Hiccup continued with telling the story but had to stop. Hiccup takes a deep breath to calm his nerves, closing his eyes as the memory of seeing his mother's corpse in front of him comes rushing back into his mind.
"Long story short, the Masked Rider revealed herself as Valka Haddock," Astrid added to Hiccup's story. Astrid knew that Hiccup's pause was most likely because he did not want to continue. So, Astrid decided she should finish the story. "During the brief time Hiccup and Valka were getting to know one another, Drago had attacked with the sole purpose of having his Bewilderbeast become the King of the Dragons. After a lengthy battle between Drago and Valka's Bewilderbests, only one was standing alive, and it was Drago's. That was when Drago's Bewilderbeast won the title of King of the Dragons, and Hiccup made a tragic mistake. Hiccup confronted Drago, trying to convince him that dragons are not weapons of war. But, instead, Drago would do the unforgivable and commanded his alpha Dragon to kill Hiccup by brainwashing Toothless to do it," Astrid tells the story but stops to wipe away the tears quickly.
Of all the times that Hiccup had almost died, which had always scared Astrid, the time Drago tried to use Toothless to kill Hiccup had to be one of the worst scares she had ever felt. Sure, back after the Red Death battle when Hiccup was in that coma, the healers told Astrid they did not know if Hiccup would ever wake up scared her the most. However, using Hiccup's best friend to kill Hiccup had left both Toothless and Hiccup traumatized after those events. Astrid still remembers the looks on both Toothless and Hiccup's faces when Valka died. It had broken Astrid's heart seeing Toothless's guilty look and Hiccup's broken facial expression. Those images would forever haunt Astrid until the end of time.
"Back where I left off. After Drago took most of the dragons with him moments after killing Valka, Hiccup, Dagur, Heather, Eret, and I had to take a group of baby dragons to chase Drago. After Hiccup helped Toothless break away from the mind control, the two of them beat Drago and his Bewilderbeast," Astrid finished telling the events of the battle with Drago. Hilda, Gunner, and Gobber are left flabbergasted at the story they heard. But Hilda needed to know just one thing that Hiccup and Astrid had not told them. Why did Valka never return if the dragon that took her did not kill her?
"Why did Valka never return if that dragon did not kill her?" Hilda had asked in the need to know why Valka allegedly did that.
"Mom didn't believe that Berk could ever accept change. She truly did miss you, Hilda, alongside Dad. But Mom didn't have any faith that Berk would've accepted dragons if she had shown back up. Mom also believed that she protected Dad and me from her unwillingness to kill dragons. Remember my mom had been taken when a Stormcutter had broken into our home," Hiccup answered Hilda's question. Hiccup had made sure not to reveal Cloudjumper's connection to Valka. Hiccup felt like it was still too soon to bring Cloudjumper into this. Hiccup also knows that telling them what happened to Valka was enough for now. When does the right time come for them to bring up Cloudjumper? Hiccup would do it, but now was not that time.
Hilda had tears racing down her cheeks. Silence is all anyone could hear inside the kitchen as the older adults have a moment to process what they had heard. "Oh, I see. Excuse me for a minute," Hilda would quietly and softly excuse herself before rushing out of the room. Hilda could not believe that Valka would do what she did.
Hilda's mind is going through memories of her time with Valka. Since childhood, the two women had been friends, and hearing that Valka honestly believed that everyone in Berk could not change deeply gutted Hilda. Of course, she did not think dragons could be good at the time; with all the dragons' raiding did, it was no surprise that no one in Berk would believe Valka. Hilda knows a very daunting question would forever haunt her until the end of time. Why did Valka choose never to return when she had the proof that she needed to show everyone that dragons were not evil? It would have saved many people's lives had she done that. Did Valka have that little faith in the citizens of Berk that even if she had evidence of dragons being anything other than creatures of destruction? Unfortunately for Hilda, she would never get the answers to those questions in her lifetime. Hilda would have to wait until the day she too enters the halls of Valhalla; hopefully, she would finally see Valka again, and then Hilda would ask her questions.
"Wait! Mrs. Hofferson, I'm sorry!" Hiccup called after Hilda. Hiccup is about to go after Hilda, but a firm hand tightly grasped him on his right shoulder. Hiccup looks towards his right to see that Gunner was one that is the owner of the hand.
"Hiccup, I think it would be best to leave Hilda alone for some time. Hilda had been so close to your mother, and hearing all that might've been too much for her. Besides, I want you to know that it wasn't your fault for Valka's death. You did what you thought was right, and Drago did what he did. So it would be best if you didn't blame yourself for what someone else did," Gunner advises Hiccup as he let go of Hiccup's shoulder.
Hiccup, meanwhile, does not believe in Gunner's words. Hiccup had heard from everyone that it was not his fault what Drago did. Because if Hiccup had not been fascinated with his belief that people could change if given a chance, his mother would still be alive to this day. Astrid, like she knows what Hiccup was thinking, punches him on the left shoulder hard. "Yeow! Astrid! What was that for anyway?!" Hiccup demanded as he rubbed his aching shoulder. While Hiccup is rubbing his shoulder, he gives Astrid an annoyed glance. Why did Astrid always choose violence?
"You doubted yourself again. I've told you countless times that it wasn't your fault about what happened to Valka. It was Drago's fault for trying to use Toothless to kill you," Astrid answered Hiccup by reminding him that Drago tried to kill Hiccup. Astrid wishes that Hiccup would stop blaming himself for the actions of others. Astrid might not have known Valka well, but she theorizes that Valka would not hold Hiccup reasonable for her death. Astrid hopes that her own mother will not blame him for what happened.
"Will I ever stop you from choosing violence, Milady?" Hiccup chose to make his usual joke to mask the pain in his arm.
"It's not violence, Hiccup, and it's a form of communication. I told you that so many times now. But, besides Babe, I would like it if you don't doubt yourself."
"Ya two are already actin' like an ol' married couple? Ya sure that ya two aren't married yet?" Gobber could not help himself with teasing the two young adults. But, unfortunately, Gobber's teasing had left Hiccup and Astrid's faces as red as a tomato.
"GOBBER!" both dragon riders shouted, which let Gobber lightheartedly chuckle at them.
"I only joke ya two," Gobber says as he teasingly wipes away an imaginary tear from his cheek. Just then, the blacksmith's stomach growled loudly. Gobber uses his non-prosthetic hand to rub the back of his head, embarrassed that his stomach rumbled loud like that. It was also Hiccup and Astrid's turn to laugh at Gobber lightheartedly. "I guess it's time for breakfast. We should head to the great hall."
"What? You don't want to have any of Astrid's home-cooked meal," Hiccup teased after he finished with his laughing fit towards Gobber. Hiccup's joke had earned him a light smack on his arm from Astrid. "What did I do to deserve that smack, Milady?" Hiccup joked as he turned his attention towards Astrid.
"Oh, don't be a smartass, Babe," Astrid replied in mocking anger as she knew Hiccup was only joking.
"Me? A smartass? Oh, how your words cut me deeply, Milady," Hiccup quipped sassily with sarcasm dripping from each word. Astrid gives Hiccup a mischievous smirk leaving Hiccup confused. "Astrid, what are-," Hiccup asked but was interrupted by Astrid's lips encountering his own. Hiccup slightly gasped from the sudden kiss, which led to Astrid's tongue sneaking into Hiccup's month. Hiccup's eyes also widened by the surprising kiss, but as fast his eyes widened, they closed as he started to kiss Astrid back. Hiccup and Astrid's tongues battled for domination. Both young adults would moan in pure pleasure from the kiss. Hiccup felt like he was floating as blissfulness filled his soul. Both Hiccup and Astrid would break from the kiss for a breath of air before getting back to their heated make-out session. Hiccup's heartbeat is rising as butterflies in his stomach are flying. Astrid smirked as she had Hiccup where she wanted him to be.
Astrid breaks away from the kiss and giggles at Hiccup's dreamy expression on his face. Hiccup's face becomes confused as he opens his eyes to see why Astrid broke the kiss. Astrid could see that Hiccup's eyes were full of total lust. "That's for being a smart-aleck," Astrid explains to Hiccup teasingly.
Hiccup's jaw drops as he could not believe that Astrid did that. That had to be the meanest thing Astrid did to him. To make Hiccup feel in the mood, she distances herself at the last moment. "What?" Astrid asked innocently to the flabbergasted facial expression on Hiccup's face. Hiccup attempts to tell Astrid what she did, but unfortunately, he cannot communicate properly. Hiccup's words were coming out incoherently. "You're so easily breakable, Hiccup. Just one kiss and you're clay in my hands, Babe. Got nothing to say, my dorky, sassy, and lovable husband-to-be?" Astrid teased in a flirty way.
"No fair, Astrid. You're just playing dirty now, wife-to-be," Hiccup says, flirty as he can speak again.
"All is fair in love and war, Babe," Astrid flirted back. This sort of flirting challenge between the loving couple was a challenge that Astrid found herself enjoying.
"Alright, Milady. I'll remember that one," Hiccup playfully challenged Astrid in their battle of who can outwit who. Hiccup would have to use the element of surprise to get even with Astrid.
Before Astrid could respond even further, Gunner coughed to get the attention of the young couple. "I would appreciate it if you two didn't make out right now." Gunner knows that his daughter is now an adult that was more than able to make her own choices in life. However, that does not mean Gunner was okay with them having such an intense make-out session in front of him. It was lucky that Hiccup was the one that Astrid chose. Because if it had been any other man, Gunner might have assaulted him.
Now both Hiccup and Astrid are blushing from embarrassment. Hiccup is extremely ashamed as he did not want to upset his soon-to-be father-in-law. Hiccup just had to be kissed by Astrid in front of Gunner. Talk about an awkward situation that Astrid, Hiccup, and Gunner find themselves in. An unpleasant silence followed Gunner's request. "Well, if ya two lovebirds finished kissin each other, we should get some needed breakfast," Gobber says, injecting into the uncomfortable conversation.
"Y-yeah, we could grab a bite to eat. Can't have an empty stomach before Dragon training, can't we?" Hiccup added, just wanting to get out of this unfavorable situation. Hiccup's feelings about what just transpired are shared with the others as well.
"Yeah, we should get something to eat. But, Dad, do you wanna join us?" Astrid added, trying to act normal.
"That's alright. I'll wait till your mother is ready to go. Then, I'll see you guys at the arena," Gunner answers Astrid's invite.
"We'll see you at the arena, Dad. Come on, guys, let's head out," Astrid replied. Hiccup, Astrid, Gobber, and their dragons made their way towards the great hall. As they walked through the village, the townspeople whispered or gave them not-so-kind looks. The Berkians would whisper as the group passed them, which annoyed Astrid. It had not been what they said about Astrid that got on her nerves, but it was what the villagers had to say about Hiccup that pissed her off. Luckily, Hiccup has held her hand as he whispers encouragement in Astrid's ear. Unfortunately, a villager dared to say, "Finn Hofferson is rolling in his grave from you lot being friends with those beasts."
Astrid turned towards the person's direction ameliorated gall to make a statement like that. Astrid's blue eyes burned with malice as she glared down at the poor man who dared bring up her beloved late uncle Finn. The look on Astrid's face promised a painful punishment. Astrid would throw her ax at the man's feet, only barely missing his feet. The man shrieks in surprise at Astrid's accuracy. Hiccup could only think, 'Oh no.' Hiccup knows just how sensitive Astrid can be when someone she cares about is talked about negatively. The former heir recalled when Dagur had teased Astrid about her uncle. It took Hiccup and Heather to get Astrid off the Berserker chief.
Before Astrid could make her way towards the man, Hiccup would grab her from behind. Hiccup is struggling to hold onto a thrashing Astrid. "Damnit, Hiccup! Let me go this instant! So, I can teach that no good bastard some manners!" Astrid loudly demanded Hiccup to let her go. Astrid could not wait to get her hands on the man.
"Gobber, please help me? You don't wanna see what Astrid could do when she's this angry," Hiccup asked his former mentor.
"Oh, I know what the lass can do when she is like this," Gobber replied as he got Astrid's ax before he would assist his former apprentice. With the help of Gobber, Hiccup was able to lead Astrid away. After both men had gotten Astrid far away from the traumatized man, it had taken some time before Astrid had calmed down enough not to harm anyone. Before the three of them, they entered the great hall. Meanwhile, Toothless, the Light Fury, Stormfly, and Grump headed into the woods, most likely to get their breakfast.
"I still think you should've let me teach him a lesson," Astrid complained.
"Oh, Milady, I think that poor soul would never tempt to do such a thing again around you," Hiccup replied, as he laughed nervously and embarrassingly.
"Babe, why are you wearing your flight suit?" Astrid asked Hiccup as they are getting their food.
"Oh, well, you see, Milady, it was for the trust exercise I had in mind for today's lesson," Hiccup answers honestly. Astrid had picked up what Hiccup was planning to do. Immediately, Astrid gave him an agitated facial expression. Astrid had never liked it when Hiccup would purposely jump off his dragon. The stunt by her future husband never failed to scare her. Astrid feared that if Hiccup continued to do crazy stunts like that, there would be a time where he would not make it through it.
When Hiccup first crafted his flight suit, he would demonstrate to Astrid and Toothless by jumping off a cliff which nearly gave her a heart attack. Because the flight was a prototype, it did not glide very well. Toothless had to catch a falling Hiccup, which the dragon was not too pleased with his rider's recklessness. Astrid would give Hiccup an earful before she would destroy the blasted suit shortly after Astrid's fear that Hiccup had accidentally killed himself subsided. Unfortunately for Astrid, Hiccup had built another with slight improvements behind her back. Astrid had destroyed that one too, once she discovered that he had made another one. But sadly, that had not stopped Hiccup from trying to make the flight suit. After Hiccup made the third suit, Astrid was about to destroy that one. Still, Hiccup had stopped Astrid when he reminded her that if something had happened to Toothless during flight, which resulted in Hiccup somehow and someway separating from his dragon, what could Hiccup do in that situation? That question frightens Astrid too. So reluctantly, Astrid agreed if Hiccup used his wings only in dire emergencies.
"Astrid, I know you don't like this. But I wanted to show everyone that they need to work on their trust in their dragons. As much as I do, you know that anything can happen up there in the sky. So, both dragons and riders need to trust one another to survive anything that might happen. And besides, the Light Fury would be there if Toothless misses me. So, I'll be more safe than usual," Hiccup reasons with his betrothed. Hiccup is not entirely sure that the Light Fury trusts him yet, but Hiccup has faith that the Light Fury would not let him fall to Hiccup's death if Toothless missed him.
"Babe, are you going to name the Light Fury?" Astrid asked, deciding not to question Hiccup anymore about the flight suit as he is the most persistent person she knows. Astrid figures that if she had tried to change Hiccup's mind, she would be wasting her time because of Hiccup's stubbornness. Astrid thinks that changing the subject to the Light Fury is the best way to move things along. Besides, was the Light Fury going to be constant in their lives? Astrid and Hiccup might as well give her a great name.
"That is if she wants to join us," Hiccup answered as he and Astrid sat down at an empty table. Hiccup knows he should not force the white dragon to stay with them. It was simply better to have the Light Fury choose to be involved with their lives with her free will. Hiccup wishes that the Light Fury would prefer to be a part of their lives, mainly because Toothless could finally have a mate. Hiccup genuinely wants Toothless to be happy. The Light Fury appears to make Toothless cheerful, which was evident by Toothless spending so much time with her as of late. Hiccup never wanted Toothless to be alone as he was growing up.
"I don't doubt that the Light Fury would not choose to. I mean, she seems to be warming up to you, Babe," Astrid replied. Astrid had noticed from the Light Fury that Hiccup was the only person the Light Fury felt comfortable with. Astrid did not blame the white dragon for feeling that way after everything she had been through with the little Astrid knew about the Light Fury's origins.
"Maybe you're right, Milady," Hiccup says with a warm smile.
"Of course, I'm right, Babe," Astrid replied with a smile of her own. Unknown to the young couple, the judging eyes of the villagers are on them. Hiccup and Astrid had already known that changing the people of Berk's views on dragons would have been hardtack. After being raided by dragons for three hundred years, it was justified not wanting to trust dragons. Hiccup is hoping he will find a way to show them that dragons can be trusted. He needed to find something or some way to prove to Berk the excellent side of dragons. But the question on Hiccup's mind is what Grimmel was planning to do next.
Hey guys, I know what you are wondering, where I've been and why I haven't updated in a month and a half. I've been busy with the holidays, going back to fix some of my grammar mistakes in all the chapters of Finding What You Are Not Looking For, starting chapter 9 of Finding What You Are Not Looking For, and writing this chapter I've been busy with that alongside with personal situations to deal with on top of that. What I'm going to name Light Fury will be revealed soon. Anyway, guys, I've also decided to have a slower updating schedule. I think that would help improve the quality of my chapters for my stories. The next chapter will focus on how Fishlegs, Snotlout, the twins, and Astrid's parents develop the relationship and how they meet. Thanks go to Lucasdiaz900 and corbinace for some of the ideas in this story. I want to thank everyone that has favorited, reviewed/commented, and followed this story so far. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I'll see you the following year. :D ^_^ ;P HAPPY 2022, HERE WE COME!
