The ground quaked and even Atlas was shaken off balance as I then charged forwards and took a powerful swipe at him, his presence dominating the space before me which made it impossible for me to miss him. I felt my trident catch against him, hooking the back of his leg which opened three long wounds, feeling the flesh tearing as he then howled. I ignored him, however, and his distraction as he turned to find me offered the two others fighting him the chance to regroup and strike once again. I ran to Percy. "Percy! Percy is that you? Percy?" But he couldn't answer me even as I felt his face, though there were tears dampening my hands from where they stained his cheeks. He was in so much pain, and it caused my heart to scream in horror. Somehow Percy was holding the weight of the sky and it was crushing him, probably even killing him. The mountain began to shake with the force of my anger and I whirled around even as I heard someone's scream fade into empty echoes as Atlas seemed to tower above a figure on the floor, that pure being who felt like moonlight.

"The first blood in a new war." I didn't care about anything, I was enraged beyond words and I felt like I could rip apart the world or raise all the oceans across the globe to respond to my wrath as I whirled around and tapped my trident down to see where everyone was. Atlas was preparing to strike and I had to move on blind instinct even as I heard Luke shout to me, bellowing for me to stop and get away. I didn't listen. Percy was in trouble, and that was all that mattered. My earthquake threw the Titan off balance and in my head I heard the voice of a goddess whisper to me, telling me what needed to be done. Throw him to your brother, half-blood. Return him to his burden. I had no idea who she was, but it sounded like a good plan to me. As Atlas regained his balance I sensed his arm shift to draw back before intending to drive down his spear, so with all the speed I possessed I leaped forwards and pushed all my weight and might behind Amaryllis. The clashing sound was so intense that my ears continued to ring long after our weapons pulled apart.

Although Atlas was a Titan, he had not expected me to appear, much less to have any skill in battle, but my rage had broken all limitations of my body even as my muscles and limbs screamed in pain, I would not feel them until much later. He was off balance because of my earthquake, and so after deflecting his spear from the goddess upon the floor, she then moved with lightning speed as I sensed her presence so clearly it was almost as if I were seeing her. When his spear was driven into the ground she grasped hold of it as I flung myself down and slid across the ground even as Luke continued to scream at me in desperation and fear. Positioning myself under Atlas I somehow knew what the goddess intended and aimed to assist her. I planted the butt of my trident into the ground and lifted the head upwards, driving it into the Titan's gut so that as we both heaved with all our might, shoulders pressing against one another, Atlas was flung over our heads. The moment his weight was gone I twisted onto my front and listened, praying that Percy would be saved and escape. The next I heard was Atlas screaming in agonised rage.

Staggering to my feet I gasped out my brother's name but then the sounds of a continuing battle drew my attention away and I looked instinctively towards Luke, tapping my trident to observe my surroundings to find him pinned with his back to the cliff edge, the girl he was fighting having something long and pointed aimed at his throat. A spear. In the sudden silence, Luke then spoke. "Well?" I was torn, looking between Luke and where Percy had collapsed to the ground, free from the weight of the sky. When Luke's position became more precarious, I turned towards him and started moving as I heard Annabeth shout for the other girl not to kill him. I hadn't even realised that Annabeth was here, she must have been the one bound on the floor.

"He's a traitor," the unknown girl spat venomously. "A traitor!" I'd bet anything that this was Thalia, daughter of Zeus.

"We'll bring Luke back. To Olympus. He…he'll be useful." But I knew Luke, and I knew he'd rather die than go back a prisoner with the shame of defeat. I started running towards them as Luke began to taunt at Thalia, asking if this what she wanted, to go back to her father in victory in order to earn his acknowledgement and pride. I realised then that it was the curse of all demigods to forever desire the love and honour of their godly parent. I heard a scuffle of motion, a desperate bid for freedom as my trident clanged once more and I saw the instant where Luke was pushed back after having attempted to grasp Thalia's spear only to veer back over the edge of the cliff. Annabeth and I both screamed, terrible and sharp. My free hand rushed out as I barrelled past Thalia and knocked her to the side, grasping at thin air and falling forwards into nothingness in a desperate hope to catch hold of Luke. It was pure luck that I managed to find his hand as it had swung wild and I grasped it as we fell, Percy now shouting a blood-curdling cry that reminded me the last time he had seen me in a deadly situation, when I'd had an arrow lodged in my gut. I heard Luke gasp my name as I twisted, switching Amaryllis from trident to sword and stabbed randomly into the face of the cliff, already having dropped several metres. The celestial bronze carved into the rock and wedged me in just as it had when I'd almost fallen into the chasm on Polyphemus's island, however my grip on Luke was not strong enough to combat the sudden jerking motion of an all-out stop, his sweat-ridden hand sliding free of me and vanishing from my grasp. I howled for him, but I had little time to realise his fate because my own grip loosened upon the hilt of my sword as my palms too were covered in sweat.

My body dropped with a sickening sensation lurching in my stomach as all I could feel was the rush of air before wildly flailing, somehow twisting and slamming my body against the face of the cliff which threw me off course and I slammed against a jagged ledge with my upper body which then flung me backwards, but broke my fall so that I only dropped the last five metres or so. Still, I felt like I'd broken every bone in my body and my spine was in flames so I didn't dare move, my ears ringing with a high pitched drone that caused one of my eardrums to rupture and bleed. Around me I barely heard the shocked cries of Luke's army as they swarmed towards us, uncertain of how to respond as the droning sound began to dissipate and above me in towering echoes, I heard someone shouting at Percy, telling him that they had to run. Yes. Run Percy. Run whilst you still can, it's alright. I'll be fine. If I managed to survive this time and then survive Luke and Kronos's wrath…I promise I'll eventually find my way back to you.

These were the last thoughts that accompanied me as for a second time, I sank into oblivion and nearly into death.
