Wassup guys! Hope you guys are enjoying the Christmas Break!

Thank you so much for the supportive reviews! I really appreciate it!

Here's another chapter that I had enough time to work on during the last few days.

For some more info, please check the AN at the end.

Without further ado, let's get started!

I do not own High School DXD. It is the property of Ichiei Ishibumi.

It has been a week since the Summer Break started for Issei Hyoudou and the rest of the students of Kuoh Academy. He had spent the first few days stuck in his home since his mother grounded him for being so late and getting into a fight. The bruises and bandages on his body along with his poor excuse of reasoning helped her see through his lies. However, once his punishment was due, he decided to get some supplies for his new cat, Penalty. Yes, it was the same cat that he fed and caressed on his way back from the last day of school before the break began. And yes, he also named his new black cat Penalty since he loved taking penalty shots during games and he liked the cat a lot too, so it only made sense for him to name her that. It followed him home and didn't seem to want to leave so he chose to start taking care of it from the moment. His mom however was skeptical in the beginning but even she was wooed by the cuteness that Penalty gave off.

As Issei walked back home in a lazy manner along with the cat supplies and groceries, he took out his phone to check the group chat that was created by the team captain of Kuoh's Boys Soccer (Football) Team, a Third-Year student named Hamada. Before opening the group chat, he looked at the last messages received from Motohama, confirming that his ass was in good condition now, no homo.

The last message in the team group chat was sent a week ago by Hamada, wishing all of them luck before the game. There should've been messages sent regarding the schedule for Summer team practices but nothing was sent since Hamada's last message. It seemed as if the entire team formed a mutiny against him due to being ejected and giving a heavy disadvantage to his own team. The situation seemed clear to the First-Year Kuoh Academy student.

'Tch! If those motherfuckers think they'll win without me, whatever. Right on the first day back to school, I'm gonna give my letter to leave the team so I can join a different one. And I also hazily remember Shitouri-senpai asking to meet me on the first day back. And I don't remember how I was unconscious in the first place. Weird…' the people around the teen were on guard due to the mean scowl Issei wore at the moment.

The mean look from Issei's face disappeared as soon as he stepped inside his house and was greeted with a purr from Penalty. His heart warmed up instantly and he put the groceries away as fast as he could before rubbing his face with Penalty's own, which was returned by the cat as well.

"You're sooooo cuuuuute!" Issei softly spoke while having a warm smile.

"Ah, already back, Issei? Did you get the milk, eggs, and flours as I asked you to get?" his mother appeared from her room with her phone in her hand.

"Yes, mom. I put it in the kitchen," the brown-haired boy responded while setting the cat down in his lap and scratching its back.

"At least you're spending your time with that furball instead of those magazines and DVDs of yours," sighed his mother, catching the teen off guard with her comment.

"H-H-Huh?! W-What do you mean?!" Issei's cheeks reddened in unease as he asked his mother.

"Ufufufu. I'm still your mother, silly. I know a lot more than you realize," she finished off her statement with a wink, further embarrassing her son.

"By the way, your dad called while you were out. He asked if you wanted to spend the Summer in California with him. Of course only if you are able to finish your Summer assignments before going," His dad had stayed back in America while Issei and his mother decided to return to Japan after three years of staying there.

Issei was only 10 when he left his home country. So while joining an American school as an immigrant, he had a very tough time overcoming the language barrier. He also faced bullying from other children due to not being able to share his thoughts properly. He was obviously angry at his inability to prove those children wrong. So he decided to not only improve his English, which became natural to him after a year and a half but also learn Spanish and Italian so he could brag to those same children that made fun of him for knowing more languages than them. However, that plan didn't live up to his expectations when he chose to come back to his native country. Despite that, his Japanese, Spanish, and English were pretty fluent while his Italian was almost fluent. He still had some trouble in it but hopefully, it wouldn't be too long before that becomes fluent too. Right now, he is studying Arabic, which is considered to be one of the toughest languages in the world. He is still between the levels of a beginner and an intermediate. However, a downside to his passion for learning new languages is that he spends too much time on that instead of doing schoolwork, which, in turn, causes him to barely get average grades on all subjects besides his extremely good grades in English and above average scores in Japanese Literature.

"Nahhh. I miss the old man but I want to work on improving my dribbling and accuracy this month for soccer (football). Maybe next year. I'll give him a call later," plus he didn't want to get started on his homework this early in the break.

"Are you sure? You haven't seen him ever since we came back here. I'm thinking of visiting him for a couple of weeks myself. There is a chance you won't be able to go next year," his mother warned him but his mind was made up.

"Yep, I'm pretty sure. Plus… I wanna spend time with this cute little thing!" Issei claimed while snuggling Penalty.

"Well, the decision is yours," his mother smiled as she watched Issei and the black cat that became a part of the family not so long ago.

A week went by since the day his father called from the US. Issei had spent the time mainly on improving his Soccer (Football) skills, playing with Penalty, playing games on his console, and studying Arabic. Not once did he even take a look at the work that was due over the Summer break. His mom had left to spend some time with him just a couple of days ago. So this gave him some time to pay more attention to the special 'materials' he had in his possession. However, his mom made sure to take the keys of her Subaru sedan so Issei wouldn't be able to drive the vehicle around. He cursed at the opportunity of driving freely slipping away like that. His mom even remembered to take the spare keys with her too.

As he calmly listened to the Arabic lessons on his wireless earbuds, he had a slight inkling of something unusual going on outside of his house. Turning on the lights in his room, he realized the Penalty wasn't in her bad right now. He also eyed the door that connected his room to the hallway on the upper level was ajar for some reason. A confused expression took over his face as he clearly remembered shutting the door even though he was alone in the entire house save for Penalty. Fearing for the worst, he grabbed the baseball bat he had in the corner of his closet and slowly walked out of the room while staying on guard and without making a sound. Looking around from the middle of the hallway, he noticed the black cat sitting right in front of the window in the living room. The window that viewed the parking lot from the inside. He still kept an eye around him and walked to his pet to see what was going on.

The cat turned around and glanced at him with its bright and sharp golden eyes. Issei stared back at the cat as if he was waiting for an explanation. The cat then gave him just what he was waiting for.

"Nyaa~" Penalty tapped on the glass of the window while making the sound, which Issei somehow understood and got closer to the feline before looking at what was going on outside of his house.

"OHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOODDDDDDD!" The teen cried out in English while holding onto his head in despair, which somehow made his cat stumble a bit but it wasn't noticed by him at the moment.

The view that greeted him almost made his soul escape his body. His mother's Subaru was completely smashed from the top. It was as if someone decided to drop a massive rock on top of the car from the sky. He had no clue what in the world happened, but he could already envision his mom grounding him for the rest of the school year and never letting him drive a car ever. No gaming, no magazine, no freedom. These facts only managed to intensify the sense of dread within him.

Gritting his teeth and narrowing his eyes in frustration, he began stomping to the door and swung it upon with force. Looking at the present state of the car only worsened his mood even further. The sound of rustle from his backyard impelled him to run around and reach the destination. He looked up at the tall tree and was confused by the sight.

There was a middle-aged man holding onto a thick branch. The torn black shirt, dirtied black slacks, wounds all over his body along blood dripping down his forehead made it clear that he was in a battle not so long ago. His body moving up and down, indicating that he was panting, also added more to the proof. What stood out the most to Issei was the very realistic black wing sprouting from his back and blood pouring out of where the second wing was supposed to be. Despite being dark out, it was clear that the man's skin was extremely pale, almost zombie-like.

The man turned around while holding onto the branch and looked right into Issei's eyes. Issei now noticed that the guy had a goatee and a very ugly face.

"Oy, you little shit! What the fuck did you do to my mom's car!?" Issei yelled out and glared at the man.

"Ugh! What unfortunate timing! Was that you who let out that insufferable yell? Watch how you speak to a superior species, you pathetic human!" the man hissed out.

"You broke into my property and destroyed my mom's car, you motherfucker! She's gonna skin me alive and have my head! You better pay up for the damage or I'll beat the shit out of you!" Issei warned the man, who grunted.

"You dare threaten me, you insect?! I'll put you to your place right now!" With that said, the man began to gather some sort of energy in his hand before firing it at the teen. Issei, who was stupefied at what just happened, managed to instinctively dodge at the last second.

His dodge however was not fully successful. His left shoulder sported a pretty bad burn due to man's attack. Still, this pain wasn't even compared to what hit him the hardest. What pained him the most was the fact that the Jersey of his favorite Soccer (Football) player that he wore the entire day, which was gifted to him by the collaboration of some of his American friends in the past year during his birthday, was completely damaged. The left side of the merchandise had nothing left of it. This was the first jersey of any type of athlete he had ever received as a gift and it had meant a lot to him.

A familiar sensation began filling up within Issei's mind as he picked up his bat and slowly walked towards the tree while his hair shadowed his eyes.

"Tch! How were you able to dodge that, boy?! I had put most of my power onto that attack! Are you connected to the supernatural?" The man's question went unanswered and was met with silence until Issei reached the bottom of the tree and finally looked up. The veins around his eyes were prominent and only the whites of his eyes were noticeable at this point. He let out a growl and snarled at the man on top of the tree.

"TE HARÉ PAGAR! (I'LL MAKE YOU PAY!)" the boy yelled out in Spanish before starting to hit the bottom of the tree with the baseball bat.

It seemed futile at first to the burglar but as over half a minute passed, he noticed that portions of the tree were falling apart. His biggest concern was the red gauntlet that appeared on the teen's left arm with a golden spike on each side and the green gem in the middle of his hand, which glowed and allowed the boy to damage the tree even more at a faster pace. Due to the fact that Issei was in 'Rage Mode', he hadn't noticed or given a damn about what happened to his arm. The man was truly fearing for his life after he made that key observation.

Before he could plead to the teen, the tree was finally damaged enough so it broke off and smashed into the ground. The man was unconscious due to the fall and had bones jutting out of his body on some spots. Issei was panting as he looked at the burglar and the exhaustion from his pain and efforts finally kicked in. His gauntlet disappeared in a flash and he hit the ground due to his consciousness finally leaving him.

Both of them, the man due to fearing for his life and Issei losing all sense of his reasoning, failed to notice the two individuals floating nearby. The two of them had pairs of wings similar to the man that had broken into Issei's home. One had long white hair while the other had short blue hair. Both had jaw-dropping expressions on their faces because of what they had just witnessed. Additionally, a glint appeared on the eyes of the individual with blue hair once they noticed the dirt and mud stuck on Issei's body and clothing.

Issei was currently in a very comforting and calming position. The peaceful surrounding he was enveloped in contradicted the slight pain in his head. Without thinking too much, he slowly parted his eyelids. Once his eyes were able to see, he realized that he was in some sort of void. It reminded him of the Black Hole but with a source of light somewhere nearby. Moving his eyes around, he did not expect the dangerous yet warming flames dancing around a very large and red creature. After that, Issei chose to close his eyes, thinking that he was maybe just seeing things. Then opening them again, the view did not change at all, save for a pair of bright emerald eyes staring him down. The teen yelped in fear and immediately stood up.

"W-W-What the fuck are you?!" Issei pointed at the creature as his legs trembled.

[Hmm… aren't you an interesting one? Allow me to introduce myself. All around the world, I am known as one of the Two Heavenly Dragons! I also go by the Red Dragon Emperor, the Dragon Emperor of Domination, and the Welsh Dragon! I am Y Ddraig Goch! Greetings, my host Issei Hyoudou!] With pride and demand for respect, the creature finally reduced the flames that were dancing around and wholly revealed itself. It was a massive and imposing Dragon with red scales all over its body and scary green eyes.

The dragon closed its eyes and smirked. It was waiting for a reply from the teen, expecting to get showered with praise and respect due to his powerful aura. Once that did not happen, Ddraig opened its eyes to see what was going on. Only for them to almost bulge out in surprise as the teen had a bored and deadpan expression on him.

"Okay… so… what do I call you? Are you even real? Are you a dude or a woman? And what do you mean I am your host? Seriously, can this crazy dream end already? I don't want to deal with some fake stupid dragon that is also a Chunni," Issei asked and as his mouth kept running, it only managed to infuriate the heavenly dragon more.

[YOU BRAT! SHUT IT OR I WILL INCINERATE YOU RIGHT NOW!] Issei's mouth sealed itself instantly and he prostrated himself before the Dragon with the speed of light.

"FORGIVE ME, DRAGON-SAMA!" He apologized. Ddraig only huffed before beginning to speak again.

[Hmph. Pick your head up. And to answer your questions, you can call me Ddraig or Partner. And I am very real and a male for your information!] grumbled Ddraig.

"Ah, noted. Although I have no clue what in the world is going on right now," Issei shared, which caused a sigh from the Dragon.

[I see...Alright, time for a history lesson you brat!] announced the Welsh Dragon.

"Aw, man! I hate history!" The teen complained but he was met with an intense look from the Red Dragon.

"Actually, you know what? I think I like history, haha," Issei chuckled nervously.

[I'll start from the beginning. Do not interrupt me at all. Hold onto your questions until the end. Understood?] the brown-haired boy rapidly nodded his head at Ddraig's question.

[I will say this first. The supernatural, which includes Devils and Angels and whatnot, is very real. A long long time ago, probably hundreds of years ago if I had to guess, The Factions of Devils led by the Four Great Satans, the Fallen Angels led by their commander Azazel, and the Angels led by their leader Biblical God was in a conflict and thus, it became a war between the three sides. This war is known as the Great War. They had fought each other for hundreds of years. At least that was the case until my fight began with my eternal rival, the White One, Albion. We both were so powerful that not even the Biblical God could stop us. So in order to put an end to our rampage, the Three Factions stopped the war and formed a temporary alliance to take us down. Since they were unable to kill us, the only way for them to succeed was to have God seal us into Sacred Gears. Now, I am stuck in this position forever. Ever since then, I have not tasted a bit of freedom.] Ddraig explained. Taking a breath before continuing, he was greeted with the scene of Issei sobbing while looking at him with pity.

[WHAT'S WRONG PARTNER?!] the weirded-out Dragon demanded to know.

"I-It's just that… you've been stuck here so long. It breaks my heart to see such a powerful creature is reduced to a mere prisoner for eternity," the male rubbed the tears off of his eyes with his arm while a tick mark grew above Ddraig's eyebrow.

[ALRIGHT! ENOUGH CRYING! Now continuing with the story, I've had many hosts ever since that accursed day. All of them either joined one of the factions in the Great War or attempted to choose to be neutral. I say attempt because despite being just my hosts, they were also fated to fight the White One or in this case, the host of the White One. In the past, my hosts also had to worry about the war until all three Factions decided to call a ceasefire. To this day, the Great War is still active but the only reason no battles are being fought is that all sides suffered heavy casualties and losses. Last time I remember, only the Devils had fought in a war other than the Great War, which was their Civil War I believe.] Ddraig finished.

Issei's eyes were wide as he absorbed the information and began analyzing what he had learned. After a minute of thinking, Issei finally thrust his fist into the palm of his other hand.

"Say… what's a Sacred Gear?" the teen asked.

[It's a gift bestowed upon humans by the Biblical God. He feared that humans would suffer the most during the Great War so to somewhat help them, he had created Sacred Gears and gave them to humans. There are 13 Special Sacred Gears, known as the Longinus, that are strong enough to even kill God. You, my partner, are the wielder of one of them!] the Dragon finished off with a smirk.

"Ah, I see. So by that logic, is the Sacred Gear that trapped your rival also one of these 13 Lagunas?" the teen asked innocently.

[IT'S LONGINUS, YOU IDIOT! And to answer your question, yes, the host of the White One is also a wielder of one of the Longinus.] Ddraig confirmed.

"Alright. So, umm, what can you do? What is your special power? Besides, you know, flying and shooting fireballs from your mouth?" Ddraig was waiting for the teen to ask this exact thing.

[Great question, partner! The Sacred Gear that houses me is known as the Boosted Gear in the Supernatural world! It allows the user to double their power every 10 seconds unlimited. Of course, your physical conditioning must be great for you to reach a very high level. This was why many of my previous hosts chose to become a devil so they did not have to spend more time conditioning their human bodies. The Boosted gear appears in your arm in the form of a gauntlet.] Issei nodded in understanding at Ddraig's words until the last part was mentioned.

"Really? Then how come I didn't have a magical gauntlet appear in my arm out of nowhere?" A look of bafflement appeared on Ddraig's face as he processed what his partner had just said.

[Are you saying that… you don't remember anything that happened prior to our meeting?] a shake of his head caused a sweatdrop to form on Ddraig's head.

"Anyway, how durable is my body in terms of being able to use the Sacred Gear?" Ddraig thought for a few moments before giving Issei an answer.

[Partner, I will be frank with you. Physically, as someone who has not partaken in a battle involving the Supernatural until now, you might just be one of the readiest hosts I've ever encountered. However, you're not on the same level Spiritually. As long as you improve yourself physically and get some work done spiritually, you have the potential to be one of the best human hosts I have ever had.] the Red Dragon Emperor honestly shared his opinion. Issei had a smile on his face due to what he had learned until one piece of information struck him.

"Hold on. You said I didn't fight any battles involving the Supernatural until now. What do you mean by that?" Ddraig was genuinely shocked by the question.

[Wait… you actually don't remember what happened in your house recently? I thought you were just joking!] Ddraig exclaimed. Issei then began thinking about some scenarios that will put him into huge trouble. He suddenly grabbed his head and a look of terror took over his face.

"Don't tell me mom came home early! If she finds out that I didn't do shit for my schoolwork and didn't do the laundry yet, she'll kill me! Plus she'll see the extra stack of Magazines spread all around the living room!" the teen voiced his worries.

[It was much deeper than that, partner. So just to summarize the whole thing in a few words, something happened in your house and your emotions were enough to activate me. Now it's that other power of yours that truly discomforts even someone as mighty as I.] the Dragon stated.

"What are you talking about, you geezer? What the hell happened in my house?" Ddraig just sighed at the teenager's constant questioning.

[You'll learn later. Now off you go to those devil admirers of yours!] Ddraig yelled out and Issei suddenly began to notice that his vision was darkening for some reason.

As the First-Year male student of Kuoh Academy slowly opened his eyes, he noticed the dark plane filled with many dots. He realized that he was outside. However, the sensation below his head was unexpectedly warm and comfy. Plus it also smelled nice for some reason. His vision changed when a familiar face put itself sideways right before his eyes while having a big smile. Issei was confused for a second as to why the face was so recognizable until he recalled that day in the infirmary. After the recollection, he sprung from his position and stood up panting.

'Danger averted! Danger averted! Danger averted' the teen thought to himself.

He still decided to at least thank the guy for being nice and turned around to give him some words of appreciation. However, what he saw next made him go pale. It was the beloved Subaru of his mom, completely wrecked from the top.

"OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOO!" a cry could be heard during the night in the neighborhood where the Hyoudou family resided.

Author's Note:

Hope you guys liked the chapter!

For that Spanish part, I used Google Translate. So please do correct me if I made a mistake.

The reason I put 'Soccer (Football)' is because many don't like the sport being called the one other than the name they prefer so it is my way of saying that I call this sport both names. So I apologize if that is bothering you by any chance.

Will Issei have a Harem? I really don't know. It's up to you guys, to be honest.

If there are any plot holes you notice or any grammatical mistakes, please point them out if that is your wish. I will fix them if that is the case.

The next chapter might take some more time than this one to be posted.

That's all for now. Stay safe!
