"You have got to be fucking kidding me!"

Blossom jolted awake at the yelling and Brick stirred when he felt her abruptly sit up, tugging at the sheets. "Buttercup!" Her pink eyes were wide with horror, as her sister stood in the doorway of her bedroom. Her head whipped in Brick's direction, making sure he was covered. They'd fallen asleep naked and she was now thankful that they had at least covered up with her sheet. She folded her arms over the thin sheet that hid her breasts.

"You are not seriously sleeping with him! Please tell me this is a sick fucking joke." Buttercup spat, the venom in her voice was borderline poisonous, as her eyes darted back and forth between the two.

Blossom was having a hard time getting any words out so Brick spoke up. "Aww, come on Buttercup… We don't actually get that much sleep." He shifted closer to Blossom and let his hand glide over her until it reached her neck. Looking Buttercup in the eye, he grabbed her sister's neck with just a little force and a whole lot of sensuality and let his fingers drift back down it.

Blossom was close to falling victim to his games but the look on her horribly tempered sister's face snapped her out of it and she shot Brick a death glare instead.

That sickeningly smug expression on his face while he put his tainted hands all over her pure hearted sister was enough to send Buttercup into a hellish rage. Her hands were at her sides, balled up into such tight fists that the muscles in her biceps were bulging, and her green eyes turned red as they began to glow. Brick, she was pretty sure just to piss her off further, stared at her with amusement, not so much as batting an eyelash.

"Buttercup… It's just sex!" Blossom yelled, seeing how close she was to destroying her bedroom and possibly Brick. "It's not the end of the world."

Her eyes stopped glowing and she whipped her head in Blossom's direction. "Somehow I seriously fucking doubt that." She turned on her heel and stormed towards the front door.

Following behind her, Blossom quickly lept out of bed, wrapping the sheet around her, and closed her bedroom door to hide Brick's indecency. Just as Buttercup threw open the door to leave, Blossom slammed it back shut, putting herself between her sister and the exit. "Let's just talk, please!" Her tone was desperate, eyes pleading. But Buttercup wasn't looking at her, she couldn't see past her own anger. "What are you even doing here?" Blossom asked, tying the blanket around her body so she didn't have to hold it closed.

"I came because I was fucking worried!" She scoffed. You've been acting really strange lately.. and then you said you were coming over and I didn't hear from you for hours."

"Shit, I'm sorry."

Buttercup crossed her arms, "Sorry that apparently hell froze over, and you had to fall in bed with the enemy to keep him warm?" The stare that she fixed onto Blossom's eyes was full of so many emotions, that she could almost count them all. "What's wrong with you?" She finally asked. It was more of a statement than a question really. She pushed past her sister and opened the door, her voice was less harsh now, "You're supposed to be better than this… better than him." She nodded to the room Brick was still in.

Blossom threw her hands over her face for a minute, trying to gain composure. "I know what I'm supposed to be…" She swallowed. "But I'm not."

The aftermath of Buttercup finding out Blossom's secret had left her in a bit of a daze for the past week. Ironically, her and Brick had only grown closer because of it.

Though she knew that Buttercup was right to be upset, especially since she couldn't even forgive herself entirely, she'd hoped that by now they could've worked past things.. But that was just wishful thinking. True to her nature, Buttercup hadn't told anyone her secret, not even Bubbles. And likely wouldn't, unless it got in the way of her own life. She knew it was only a matter of time before Bubbles found out too, she just hoped that she'd be more understanding than others.

During their last couple battles with monsters and villains, Buttercup kept her distance, only communicating when necessary and only following orders when it was what she wanted to do. To her, Blossom was no more a leader than any of them anymore. How could she be trusted to be in charge of Townsville when she couldn't even make the right decisions in her personal life?

Blossom hadn't been back to her apartment since that day, when she was alone she couldn't keep the negative thoughts away. Couldn't focus on anything other than her own worthlessness. But when she was with Brick… She felt like she was on top of the world. She felt wanted, needed even. He seemed to hate it when she left, almost as much as she hated leaving. Why? She had no fucking clue. A guy like him could have anyone, except for maybe the other two Powerpuffs. Why he chose to spend so much time with such an empty shell of a woman, was beyond her.. But everyday he did, was a reminder that things were looking up and maybe someday she would be whole again.

She laid her head on her knees, which were drawn into her chest, and stole a peek at Brick who had been tapping away on his phone for some time now. Watching as his brows raised and furrowed in reaction to whatever was happening through his screen. He really was a beautiful specimen. She giggled lightly to herself.

Noticing her eyeing him, he tossed his phone to the side of the couch and shifted positions, laying her legs back down against the couch so that he could rest his head in her lap. Looking up at her, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly. "Why were you staring?"

Smiling, her eyes were everywhere in the room, except for him. She had the hardest time making eye contact with him when he was being cute. It was still such a foreign concept to her.. Brick Jojo being cute and playful, at all, let alone with her.

If she wanted to play that game, fine. He had other ways of demanding her attention. While she was busy, purposely avoiding his gaze, he tilted his head slightly so that he was facing towards her and slipped his hand through the leg hole of her tiny cotton shorts. She let out a breath as his fingers unexpectedly disappeared between her thighs, grazing along her panties.

As if on their own, her legs parted slightly to allow him easier access. He smirked into her thigh, and began teasing her, tugging at her panties and slipping a finger beneath before retreating back to the outside.. Never touching her bare flesh. She pouted and shifted in her spot, trying to let him know that she wanted it. But he just kept toying with her. He pulled her underwear between her lower lips and tugged slightly, before sliding a finger down the middle, between them. Using a little more pressure now, he used his thumb to trace over her clit and his middle finger to rub the rest of her, down the lace parting her lips.

She let out another small huff of air, he could feel the wetness spreading over her panties now, threatening to spill out entirely. He removed his fingers from her, pulling back just enough for her to feel how close he still was. He looked back up at her flushed face. "I asked you a question." His voice was melodic. "Why were you staring?"

She made eye contact with him now, and he felt himself winning the game that she didn't even know they were playing. He had her. "I was just.. thinking about how attractive you are." She bit her lip, a little surprised that she was actually able to get it out, but there was no time to waste. He would've gotten it out of her one way or another and she was eager to play.

He scrunched his nose, and then scoffed. "What were you really thinking about?"

Teasing her had clearly gotten him excited too, she could see it poking through his shorts. Leaning over him slightly, her hand crept down his torso and slipped under his waistband, grasping him firmly. "That's the truth." She told him, matter of factly. He let out a barely audible groan.

As she touched him, his own fingers that had been on standby, found her again. This time pushing her panties to the side to touch her for real. As she leaned over him to reach him, her chest kept bumping into his face, which he found amusing. Much to his frustration, her shirt was in the way. "Blossom, take your shirt off." She glanced down at him, smirking, before pushing herself into his face again. "I swear I'll rip it in half." His tone sounded like he was joking but she knew that he would do it without hesitation if she didn't obey.

Removing her hand from his pants, she pulled off her shirt, before quickly returning to finish what she'd started. Her breasts now dangled in his face and he was happy to take them into his mouth as he explored her.

After things started getting more heated, the position they were in wasn't working anymore. Blossom got up, leaving Brick lying on the sofa and took off her bottoms. She leaned down, parting his lips with her own to make out with him for a minute. Unwilling to wait, he used his other hand, and slipped back inside her while they kissed. She moaned into his mouth and fell into him when he started massaging her g spot.

"Seeing you weak from pleasure is my favorite thing." He growled into her ear. "As long as I'm the cause of it."

"You are my pleasure." She moaned. He had her get on top of him, facing away. Wrapping his arms around her he pulled her body close and buried his tongue inside her. Trying to control her sounds, she pulled his shorts down and sunk her mouth around him.

From this angle it was much easier to take him deep down. His tongue was rapidly lapping across her clit and it was so satisfying, that she was just about screaming with his dick in her throat. The intense vibrations caused by her cries of ecstasy, as he brought her over the edge, sent him toppling down with her. She happily swallowed him down.

He held her in place after, not ready to be done tasting her sweetness yet. She squirmed around, trying to break free, the hellish tickling was too much for her.

"Brick!"

He let out an evil laugh. "This pussy is mine." Then he slid his tongue into her again.

She whimpered. "It's yours!" When she tried to break free this time, he let her up. She turned around to face him, straddling his stomach. And leaned in to kiss his neck. "It's yours." She repeated. He pulled her closer, snaking his arms around her. "You can have it whenever you want." The look on his face was the smuggest she'd ever seen but she loved it. "Just give me five minutes in between." She laughed.

Hovering above Townsville, Blossom was quickly formulating a plan. The giant plant monster was at least 60 feet tall and sprawled out in the center of the city, it's rapidly spreading vines were entangling around everything they came into contact with.

Her sisters were at the base of the monster, dodging it's attacks and throwing their own. She was taking a second to study it's movements and target it's weak points. Got it. She flew back down to join them. "I have an idea!" Her tone was confident and controlled. Bubbles looked at her with a smile, waiting for her brilliant plan. "Both of you keep an eye out for civilians, get them out of here! I have to get something. Don't fight the monster unless it's an emergency!" She caught Buttercup's annoyed scoff before she took off, leaving her pink streak across the setting sky.

Bubbles looked confused, but did as her sister said and swept the area for any sign of people. Buttercup didn't need to take orders from her. She had her own plan, one that would be much better than whatever dumb idea Blossom surely had. Fuck her stupid decisions. Instead, she flew to the nearest vine, cutting through it with her laser. She smirked at her handiwork and moved on to the next, and the next, slicing through them as quickly as possible. Ha. Take that Blossom. She didn't need a leader, plans were overrated, she could fight and use her abilities to take out anything that stood in her way. Blossom might as well not even be here at all.

Bubbles wasn't paying attention to Buttercup but had assumed that, like her, she was doing as Blossom directed and was getting the people to safety on her own end. Bubbles scooped up a mother and son just a vine as thick as a tree trunk was threatening to wrap around them. She flew them away from the danger zone and zipped back to scour the area again. That's when she noticed that Buttercup was chopping down the plant. She cocked her head. Blossom specifically said not to.. Curiously she went to her sister's side "Buttercup what the heck! Blossom said-"

"Fuck what Blossom said!"

Bubble was taken aback, "Are you guys fighting or something?"

"Now isn't really the time Bubs." She replied, sending a series of punches through another slithering vine, to give her eyes a break.

Bubble's eyes went wide with shock, all of the sudden each limb that Buttercup had cut down, grew back.. times two.

"What the fuck?!" Buttercup yelled, eyeing the terrifying scene unfolding below her. She stopped fighting and her heart started beating through her chest. What had she done? There were tons more vines wrapping around everything downtown now. It covered buildings, and tore through the ground.

"Oh no!" Bubbles flew to a kid who had just been twisted up, she got to him before any serious damage was done, ripping into the plant. When she flew the kid to safety, she noticed a rash spreading over him where the thing had touched him. "A poisonous plant?" She said out loud. She left the kid with the police and flew back to the scene to find that Blossom had returned.

"What happened?" Blossom's expression was both confused and alarmed. Bubbles opened her mouth to answer but Blossom spoke again before she could. "Let me guess… Buttercup?" Her blonde sister nodded, in confirmation. "Shit." Her eyes located Buttercup and could see that she was now working on leading people to safety instead. They needed to talk. But first, she needed to take down this insane plant.

"What is that?" Bubbles eyed the large bottle her sister was holding. "Plant killer?" She narrowed her eyes. "You think that'll work?"

Blossom took off with the bottle, towards the center of the leafy beast. "Only one way to find out!" Bubbles flew to her side to assist. "You pry open its mouth and I'll pour."

Bubbles flew to its mouth and using her strength she forced it open. It was really strong and she felt like she couldn't hold it for long. "Hurry!"

Blossom sliced the container in half and dropped the whole thing inside the command center of the plant monster. As soon as it dropped inside, a lengthy vine slipped around her waist and began squeezing the life out of her. "Oh no, Bloss! That thing is poisonous!" Bubbles used her laser beams to free her but the damage was already done. Any skin touched by the vines turned into an immediate rash.

"Good thing I opted for the poison plant killer." Blossom laughed, looking at the disgusting red that was spreading over her waist. Bubbles laughed too.

Finally Buttercup joined them, her hands were also covered in the rash, and she did not look happy about it.

The plant began to die, slinking down in size until it was reduced to the size of a normal plant, taking all it's dangerous vines with it. The damage that it left in its wake was more than she'd bargained for when she came up with her plan, and there were dozens of people covered in a thick rash. A few buildings had been destroyed and the road was in pieces below them. She whipped around pissed off. "Buttercup I told you not to fucking fight the thing. Now look at the city!" Her pink eyes were flashing red.

Buttercup rolled her eyes. "I shouldn't have to take orders from you."

"I'm the leader for a reason. And if you would have listened then this wouldn't have happened." Blossom explained, calming her voice down the best she could.

"In my defense.. Blossom." She said her name with an added layer of disgust. "You don't always make the smartest choices. So excuse me for not trusting your shit judgement."

Bubble's jaw fell open. "Okay what is going on?!" She squealed.

Blossom folded her arms. "It was my choice to make. And it affects me, not you and not Townsville."

Buttercup started laughing incredulously now. "Yeah sure. You keep telling yourself that." Bubbles eyes darted back and forth between them, more confused than she'd ever been.

Blossom scoffed now. And flew away from them, to dispose of the plant and talk to the police.

"Bitch." Buttercup muttered.

It was a decidedly simple assumption that a rash from an unknown poisonous plant was not sexy and, therefore, not something Blossom wanted to be wearing near Brick. That's how she finally ended up back at her own place. Fine, she needed to check the mail anyway and probably clean out her fridge. She could pick up some new clothes while she was there too. She let out a loud huff, glancing around her living room. It didn't even really feel like home anymore. She did crack a smile when her eyes fell on the couch, the last time she was home they had some pretty amazing sex there. She bit her lip, as the memories flooded back to her mind. Stupidly, she missed him already.. She felt like a teenage girl.

She walked into her room and flopped down on the bed, pulling out her phone to text him:

Hey, got a gross rash from that giant poisonous plant. Staying home tonight. xx

She cleaned out the fridge, listening to some music and then he messaged back:

No. Come over. Don't argue.

Rolling her eyes, she started typing her protest. Then he texted again:

Whatever you're about to say.. Save it for when you get here.

What started as a sigh so strong that it blew her bangs back, quickly dissolved into a smile. She tucked her phone back into her pocket, and headed to her room to collect some new clothes and other things to take back to her home away from home.

"Is it itchy?" Brick pried Blossom's hand off her stomach so he could inspect the rash for himself.

"Very." She said, squirming. Just as he started to lift her shirt she yanked it back down. "Come on, it's so… unattractive." She looked down, averting his gaze. "I don't want you to see."

He let his fingers slide across her hands that were gripping tightly at the ends of her shirt. "Trying to look good for your mortal enemy?" He raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"Mortal enemy my ass." She rolled her eyes, and then gasped as her back hit the wall behind her.

Brick pressed himself into her, his hands on her hips. "Is that an offer?" He asked in a husky voice. Her breath hitched as his hot breath drew closer to her ear. "Because I would demolish that ass." While she was distracted by his sudden closeness, he slid her shirt up and took a look at her stomach.

Her jaw dropped, and she pushed him back, unnerved. "You-"

He sent her a devious wink, "My offer still stands, don't worry." Taking her hand, he pulled her to the living room, where he had a bottle of calamine lotion waiting on the coffee table. She noticed it and her expression softened. "Take off your shirt."

He instructed.

She groaned in protest but seeing the relief filled bottle, she suddenly started feeling more itchy than ever. The temptation was overwhelming and she found herself lifting her shirt over her head, feeling very self conscious, she still tried to cover the rash with her arms. Brick picked up the lotion and popped the cap open, about to dump some into his hand.

"Wait! I'll do it." She held out her hand to take the lotion. "Besides, if you touch it then you might get it too." Ignoring her, he squeezed a huge glob of calamine lotion into the palm of his hand and walked over to her.

"Brick-"

"If I get it, I get it. The X will take care of it within a few hours anyway." He shrugged, pushing her arms away from her stomach. Then brought the cream to her red, irritated skin and started rubbing it in. As soon as it touched her she let out a noise that could have easily been mistaken as a moan.

He raised his eyebrows, glancing up at her. "That feel good baby?"

Her face wore a blissful expression that Brick found satisfying. "Sooo good.."

His mouth curled into a tempted smile, "As soon as this thing heals, you're mine." When he was finished, he washed his hands and she pulled her shirt back down, settling onto the couch.

"You wanna watch a movie?" Brick asked, joining her. He sat on the far end of the couch, propped up against the corner and pulled her in between his legs. Smiling, she leaned against his warm chest.

He rubbed her back as she lay with him, finding it incredibly soothing she began to drift off, though the night was still young. "Thanks Brick."

Bubbles' suspicions began to increase when Blossom skipped out on family night but now it was the second week in a row, and she was really curious. Huffing, she typed a quick reply to her sister's text and clicked her screen off setting it in her lap. "Bloss can't make it. Again." The disappointment on her face was apparent.

"Figures." Buttercup crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back in the booth.

The Professor sent a look her way, "Now girls, I'm sure your sister just has a lot going on right now. She'll be here when she can." He gave a half smile, trying to not look too disheartened himself, for Bubbles sake.

Bubbles patted him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry you're right." She said, a smile of her own was beginning to creep onto her face. "Actually I think I know what's going on with her."

Buttercup sat up straight and scrunched her eyebrows. "You do?" She knew that Bubbles knew something was up, but had she caught them too? Or had Blossom told her? For some reason the second thought made her feel slightly more annoyed.

Bubbles slowly nodded her head as Buttercup and The Professor both stared at her, waiting. "I think she has a new boyfriend."

Buttercup cupped her hand over her mouth, nearly spitting out the soda she'd started sipping on. "Boyfriend?" She finally managed. Her sister sleeping with a Rowdyruff was bad enough, but actually liking him enough to be in a relationship with him? There's no way. She wouldn't.. She couldn't. Right?

The Professor looked at Bubbles curiously while Buttercup was busy in her head. "Yeah, she must just not be ready to tell us yet." Bubbles started, "But she's been a lot happier lately for sure.. well aside from whatever fight you're in." She directed her attention to her raven haired sister, who immediately avoided eye contact. "And since she's been so busy.. Well you know how she gets when she's in a new relationship."

"Grade A clingy?" Buttercup spat, with a wicked smile that caused Bubble's own smile to quickly disappear.

"Buttercup." The Professor said through grit teeth.

"Sorry Professor."

Bubbles found her smile again. The Professor, however, looked concerned. "What's this about you and Blossom fighting?"

She shot Bubbles an irritated glance before signing. "We're just.. not seeing eye to eye right now..."

His brows furrowed but he knew better than to try to get involved in his daughter's personal business. She was a fairly private person after all. Bubbles didn't look the least but deterred. "What about?" She asked bluntly.

Buttercup rolled her eyes. "I don't wanna get into it. It's not a big deal though, I'm sure everything will work itself out soon enough."

Bubbles wasn't satisfied with that answer but decided to drop it for now, lest she be on bad terms with Buttercup too.

For the past couple of days Blossom had been staying at her own place again, while Brick was away on a 'business trip,' She had no clue what that meant, and refrained from asking at the time, not wanting to possibly disrupt their final night together before he left. She didn't want to know, somehow not knowing about what he did for 'work' made it easier for her to sleep at night. If she found out that he was doing something terrible she couldn't just stand by and do nothing, and certainly wouldn't be able to keep seeing him. The thought made her heart ache.

Tonight as she lay in her own bed, having just finished a lengthy novel, she pondered the future.. Saving Townsville, career: unknown but she still hoped for something in the chemistry field, her family… and then something else popped into her head, Brick. "Brick." She whispered, hugging into herself with a little smile playing on her lips. She didn't know exactly when it happened, or why.. but thinking about her future, she couldn't picture it without him anymore. That thought was unsettling. She didn't realize how much he had impacted her life in such a short amount of time, they had only been seeing each other for a few months. A few amazing months, but she felt lighter and happier when she was with him.. Like life has some sort of meaning again. But that's where it got complicated..

Her and Brick weren't even in a relationship. They still hadn't talked about it at all, as far as she knew they were just sleeping together. But she stayed at his house a lot… why would he let her, want her to, even.. If they were just 'fuck buddies'? She hated that term. And really hoped that's not all that they were. Then again, they didn't go out in public, and nobody knew about them.. except for Buttercup by accident. She tried to recall if he had ever mentioned wanting to keep them a secret but came up short. It was her that insisted they not be seen together, the only place they'd ever gone was the coffee shop in the beginning, and she hadn't even known the invitation was from him at the time. So he had invited her out to a public place on purpose and then there was that time outside his house, where he mentioned that she might be recognized and said he wouldn't mind.. But did he mean that or was it a joke, because he knew she would mind?

She rolled over, facing the wall now. Trying to figure this thing out. He didn't seem to mind when Buttercup found out about them.. But was it because he didn't mind people knowing, or because he wanted to fuck with her already pissed of sister. Ugh. She threw her pillow over her face and sighed. Would she even be okay with them dating publicly? Could she tell all of Townsville that she, a hero, had fallen for someone who used to terrorize the city.. and her? Would they be able to accept it? Would her family? Buttercup was still so angry after like a month, that they couldn't even be around each other still. It was even affecting their heroism.

Unable to sleep with all the thoughts, she got out of bed and pulled a stack of old journals from her bookshelf. She hadn't tried to conceal them since people were rarely in her apartment. The three she pulled out were all from highschool. She picked one up at random, and pulled away the tape that she'd long since placed over the book's opening. The date revealed that it was from her freshman year, she flipped through the pages, skimming for Brick's name, any mention of him or the Rowdyruff Boys.

There were a few entries that mentioned him, the first couple were about how annoying he was, about all their senseless fighting and how he was growing stronger. Then they slowly turned into something else, she hadn't read through any of her old diaries before.. When she finished one, she taped it closed and hid it away, starting a new one. So she didn't realize until now how her mentions of him had gone from annoyed with their fights to complaining about not seeing him enough and how she sort of kind of liked wrestling around with him. Now that she was re-reading, her old memories started flooding back to her. She remembered having a small crush on him, she even told him as much a few weeks back..but she didn't remember how much.

Reaching the end of that book, she opened the next one and skimmed through in the same fashion. This one was from when they were 16, the same year he left Townsville and stopped fighting with her altogether. Somewhere in the middle, she found front to back pages written about how he had left. Not that he told her that he was leaving, but she had heard from the other villains around town and then knew herself when he stopped coming around. Looking through her journal, she noticed a strong change in her writing after he left. It was obvious that she had gotten moodier, sadder after his departure from Townsville.. and subsequently, her life. The last entry about him, said:

I can't help wondering about B. I hope he's doing okay.. Not causing too much trouble. Although, somehow I doubt it. It's been 7 months, will he ever come back? It's weird, but I feel like something is missing when he's away. I think about the last time I saw him way more than I'd like to admit. But I guess I can be pretty open here since I'll be the only one reading. Unless Buttercup invades my privacy again. BC if you're reading this buzz off!

Okay. That's enough of that, she thought, sliding the books back onto her shelf. Seven years later and he had finally returned.. But why? She was so surprised when she saw him at that party, a little scared but also kind of excited, and that night had changed her life over the last few months. Nothing had changed from when she was a teenager, she had feelings for him then, not even fully realizing it and now they were much stronger.

She flopped back onto her back and hit the light light switch again, enveloping the room in a layer of darkness. Suddenly she felt like she wanted to talk to Brick about some things, more serious things then what they were used to. It was kind of important after all. She didn't want to lose him.. but it would be better to lose him now then to get even closer to him and then find out that things would never work between them. And god.. did she hope they would.

When Blossom let herself in, Brick was already home, back from his trip. She hadn't seen him in days and couldn't get there soon enough.

She walked past his duffle bag in the foyer, which he must have dropped as soon as he got in, and headed for the living room. Brick must not have heard her come in, because the look on his face was one of shock.

Before he had a chance to say anything, she jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs around his torso. "I missed you." She said, beginning to kiss him. Her lips were hungry, passionate as they repeatedly found his.

"Bloss-"

She kissed him again, deeper this time, letting her wanting tongue slip between his teeth. He wrapped his arms tighter around her, and melted into her. When she broke away from his lips and moved to his neck, he broke from his daze. "Blossom.." her mouth opened against his neck, and her cool lips and tongue trailed along, suckling and teasing his own warmth. He was having a hard time getting the words out. "It's not really a good ti-"

Blossom's head snapped up as she heard someone enter the room, behind Brick. She slid off of him and he whipped around, noticing her sudden mood change.

"Who's she?!" A pretty blonde girl asked. She was still wet from her shower and wrapped in a towel, standing in the archway to the living room.

Blossom's face fell as she looked from the woman back to Brick.
