"Blossom." She said, sticking her hand out to the mystery woman who was naked in Brick's house. "And you are..?"
She didn't give her name, just shook Blossom's hand with a very confused expression on her face, before turning to Brick. Probably looking for answers.
Brick let out a loud sigh and rubbed his temples. "Fuck. This isn't what it looks like."
Blossom laughed in disbelief, keeping her attention on the blonde. Was he seriously trying to pull that cliche line? "He's quite the fucking charmer isn't he?" She folded her arms over her chest, ignoring Brick's scoff from behind her, and kept her attention focused on the mystery blonde.
"Uh, I didn't know he had a girlfriend.." The woman said.
Brick looked both mortified and pissed off as he stood there with his hands closed into fists at his sides. God only knows how he was keeping his cool as he watched the shit show play out in front of him. But what was he going to do? He was just as fucking confused and angry as Blossom was. He couldn't hardly even gather his thoughts, at the unexpected intrusion.
"He doesn't." Blossom answered, before he could say anything. "Well, maybe he does. I don't fucking know." She turned to face him finally, staring into his vexed blood red eyes on her way out, "I don't actually know him."
She was too upset at the moment to care if she looked pathetic to either of them. Honestly she couldn't give a shit what the bitch thought.. No, that wasn't fair. It wasn't her fault that Brick was… spreading himself so thin. That's how things always went on tv or with strangers online, the two timing guy gets off scot free while the girls blame each other. But Blossom was smarter than that. She wouldn't let herself blame the other woman. Or was she the other woman? She wasn't his girlfriend apparently, and neither was Blossom, so maybe they were both just his toys.
A toy. That's what she felt like.
"Blossom, let me explain."
She took a step past him, "There's nothing to explain. You're single and grown. You can do whatever you want." She definitely sounded petty, but she couldn't help it.
He grabbed her wrist to try and stop her from leaving, so he could talk to her. Yanking it away, she turned and fired a single laser beam at him. Burning a lengthy hole into his long sleeved shirt, it sliced through his chest. Brick winced at the pain, but said nothing as the white fabric began to soak up the growing red stain. The blonde woman on the other hand looked pretty terrified, as she let out a shrill scream and stammered backwards, as if she thought Blossom might do the same to her. Did this woman not know she was a Powerpuff?
Blossom walked away, fighting every instinct inside that told her to stay. To hear him out. Or to keep attacking him. She slammed the key he'd given her on the table near the door on her way out. "What a shame."
Even though what she told him was true, she couldn't help but feel hurt. Broken.
As soon as Blossom was out of sight, the blonde woman fainted, falling dramatically to the ground, as a thick miasma of black smoke filled the room. Only one explanation for that..
"What the actual fuck!" Brick was already freaking out as soon as HIM appeared.
"What's the big deal, my boy?" HIM asked, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. He waved a hand in front of the girl who was out cold on the ground and she began levitating before she vanished into thin air. "Didn't I tell you to cheat on her? Oh well.. you were taking too long." He said nonchalantly.
Brick clenched his jaw, trying his best to keep his composure. He knew he would get nothing out of HIM if he aggravated him too much. Although, in a situation like this, it was almost impossible to keep calm. "What are you trying to accomplish by torturing me and hurting Blossom?"
HIM's lips turned into a haunting grin. "Torture? How melodramatic. Why do you care anyway, what did you say the last time? That she was just a good fuck?" His smile widened significantly, as he threw his son's words back at him, knowing damn well that Brick was lying when he'd said them.
"If I would've known you were gonna be pulling shit like this, I wouldn't have agreed to come back here."
"Now come on.. Do you think I was born yesterday?" HIM asked. Brick glared. "You were always going to end up here again. I just gave you the excuse you needed to come back sooner."
Brick sighed, "I had no reason to come back to this shit town."
"You came back for your precious Powerpuff. Don't bullshit a bullshitter son. I can read minds.. remember?" He let out a wicked laugh that echoed through the living room walls.
Brick's expression did little to hide how utterly confused he was. "Just tell me what the fuck you want with her. What was the point of that fucking con woman?" I really don't appreciate you letting random people into my house, you know.
"Ah ah ah, that's not for you to find out just yet.. Be patient." HIM sighed happily. "The other woman was just a fun way to speed this whole thing along." He gestured. "It was entertaining, and I did enjoy Blossom's reaction." HIM walked over to Brick and grasped at his tattered shirt with a claw. "She's not as self righteous as she used to be.. turning to violence so quickly. What a pleasant change. Maybe you're rubbing off on her after all.."
"I'm lucky I didn't get it worse than this. No thanks to you… dad." He spat, like the word was poison.
HIM took a few steps back and faked a gasp, unable to contain his smile. The thick black smoke had returned to take him away. "Don't worry my child, you'll get her back." He winked. "One day soon you'll see… I'm doing all of this for you. Just having a little fun while I'm at it." He winked before disappearing, leaving Brick to sulk in silence.
When she left she had naturally taken flight and zipped away from his house as fast as possible, trying to stay low enough to the ground that her bright pink streak wouldn't be seen. She didn't want to go home, she didn't want to be anywhere that he might be able to find her.. Not that she thought he'd try to find her or want to fix things, but just in case. She just wanted to be away from the Possibility of him trying to talk to her. He was such a fucking sweet talker. A smooth, sweet taking prick. And stupidly, she fell into his trap.. into his bed. happily. That bit frustrated her the most.
Sighing, she decided to land in the forest that she'd been flying over. She couldn't concentrate in the sky right now, she wanted to feel the ground beneath her feet. She needed the stability..
There was no path where she was, it was just a random mess of trees for miles. Pushing her way through them, she thought about the naked blonde in Brick's living room. She hated to admit it, but she was really quite pretty and at least looked like she had a nice body. Of course Brick wouldn't be satisfied sleeping with only Blossom.. There was an earth full of women out there, who he could get to in an instant.. and with his rugged good looks and ridiculous charm he could get just about anybody to fall for him. Could she really be that mad, when they hadn't even established any kind of relationship? She already knew the answer, but at the same time.. He was confusing her by always saying she was his and he got so upset when she joked about sleeping with another guy. What a hypocrite. He knew that she would be coming over today too, and he still had the audacity to have a girl over.. knowing full well that she had a key. A key that he had given her. With so many mixed signals.. it's no wonder she was so damn confused.
She stopped walking, and punched the nearest tree, which caused it to uproot and slowly fall backwards. Shit! She caught it and lowered it safely to the ground, deciding that she would donate some money to have a few new trees planted in Townsville. She felt guilty for letting her anger get to her, she normally was never that hot tempered. She'd always been a very level headed person, Brick Jojo was getting to her. She was suddenly really relieved that she hadn't had the chance to talk to him about 'them' god that would've been humiliating.
Now she just needed to figure out what she was going to do to avoid him for a while, she wasn't interested in him sweet talking his way out of this one.. He had been persistent in the past, texting and showing up at her house and to other places when they'd fought or been separated for too long. It wasn't entirely unrealistic to assume that would happen again. This time she wasn't having it. She needed to stand her ground and keep away from him.
After stopping by her apartment for just long enough to grab some clothes and essentials, she had reluctantly headed back to her family home, which is where she'd been for the last couple of days. Although she normally felt suffocated when she was around her family too much, having shared a room with her sisters all the way into adulthood.. She found that she really appreciated her privacy. Blossom thought that it was the best idea for her right now, given the circumstances.
Being alone with her thoughts could be.. depressing and she'd been so much better lately. She didn't want to drift back into that hole. She really wanted to try and keep her mental health in a good place this time. There was no denying that she had been struggling the last three days.. It had been horrible in fact, Brick was still on her foolish mind constantly, but today she was going to try and dig her way out of the funk she was in. Determined not to let him get the better of her.
Besides, being back at home meant spending some long overdue time with The Professor and Bubbles. Bubbles had been the only one of the girls to stay at home, deciding she'd rather be there to look after their father and save some money while she was at it. Blossom did love her family and hadn't had a chance to see them the last few weeks, because of her and Buttercup's disagreement about Brick. She rolled her eyes, at the realization that her irritating sister may have been right. There was a gnawing at her heart. But.. Brick had been soo good to her.. for so many months. She sunk deeper into the couch, she really did have a wonderful time with him, even if they weren't in a relationship. No Blossom, don't do this to yourself. Don't play into his mind games. She went to reach for her phone and then remembered that she didn't have it, it was a hard habit to get out of, apparently. That was the one thing she decided to leave behind, along with her apartment, for a few days. Brick having any communication with her was no good. She was too weak when it came to him..
Bubbles walked into the room and sat on the other end of the couch. "So, are you ready to talk about the real reason you're here yet?"
She sighed, "I told you, I just missed you guys." Bubbles didn't buy it the last time she said it and this time was no different. "And.. I've been kind of lonely lately, I guess. But it's no big deal. I just thought spending a few days here would be a good change of pace." She didn't like lying to her sister but she couldn't exactly tell her the truth, especially since they were over now. There was really no point in getting her worked up over nothing.
"Oh Bloss! I had no idea you felt that way! You should totally move ba-"
Blossom threw her hands up in protest. "Bubbles, I'm just staying for a couple more days. It's really not that serious. I just wanted to come visit." No fucking way was she ever moving back into her family home. She was 23 for god's sake! No offense to Bubbles.. She thought it was noble that she wanted to stay with The Professor, but she couldn't handle it again.
"Have you at least made up with Buttercup by now?" Bubbles asked, a look of hopefulness shining in her blue eyes.
"No.. But I will."
Bubbles smiled, her eyes lighting up even more somehow. "Good because I hate when you two fight! And she's coming over on Sunday for a family game night." She bounced out of the room before Blossom could say anything. Great. She did have every intention of fixing things with Buttercup but did it have to be so soon? It's not like she made it easy to want to work things out..
"Oh." Buttercup said, clenching her jaw as soon as she entered the house and saw Blossom sitting at the island. Her eyes flicked over to her other sister, who was in the middle of cooking dinner. "Didn't realize she was going to be here."
"Buttercup, I'm right here. If you have something to say, you can say it to me." Blossom didn't even look up from her book, which annoyed her green sister even further. Of course it didn't cross her mind that she had completely ignored Blossom first..
Buttercup slammed the door shut and folded her arms over her chest. "I have nothing to say to you."
Blossom rolled her eyes to herself, with a slight smile on her lips. Her sister was so difficult, so stubborn it was almost comedic.
Bubbles finished stirring the pot of food she was making and turned to face her sisters. "I really wish you two would knock this off already… Whatever it is." She glared at them. Reminding them that she had been totally left out of whatever was going on between them.
Blossom and Buttercup both averted her gaze, not wanting to get into the details with her.
The three of them ate their dinner quietly, while The Professor chatted along, oblivious to the awkward silence and death glares being sent out around him. Afterwards they started a friendly game of 'Sorry' at the living room coffee table.
A series of bad luck left The Professor and Bubbles way behind in the game, and they decided to leave it to the other two. They didn't care who won, but the other two were out for blood... It was now down to Buttercup and Blossom, each of them had two pawns already at home or at least in the safety zone, leaving one pawn each on the board.
Blossom growled as Buttercup drew a seven and split her move between her two remaining pawns. She moved the one in the safety zone the last three spaces until it was home with her other one and then picked up her last green piece and moved it the other four spaces. She smiled deviously as she landed on the arrow of a slide.. a slide that Blossom's final pawn was on, which also happened to be right near the entrance of Blossom's safety zone. "Oops." She said, knocking her sister's piece across the board and sending a bitchy smirk her way. "Maybe next time you'll make better choices and not end up in such a stupid situation." Blossom's mouth fell slightly open, she knew that her sister was making a dig but it hurt even worse since she was now in stupid situation... That Buttercup didn't even know about! The Professor and Bubbles had given up on even watching the heated battle and went into the kitchen to make a batch of cookies and fortunately didn't hear her. The last thing Blossom needed was for them to find out about Brick right now. The one thing she was actually grateful to Buttercup for was her ability to keep a secret.
Blossom angrily picked up her red pawn from the floor and set it back into the start position, trying to ignore her sister's smug look. When she drew her next card she grinned from ear to ear, causing Buttercup's face to drop in worry. "Sorry." She said in a fake sweet tone, flicking her sister's green piece off the table. Irritatingly, she caught it before it hit the ground. Blossom set her own piece where Buttercup's had just been and slapped her 'Sorry!' card down on the table, folding her arms over triumphantly.
"Bitch." Buttercup muttered, sending her sister a death glare from across the table. Blossom's smile only widened, knowing that she'd gotten under her skin. Buttercup begrudgingly put her pawn back in the start position, drew a card and began moving around the board again.
Blossom was now only a few spaces away from winning the game and prayed that nothing else would go wrong. She really wanted to put her sister in her place. When she pulled out the next card and it was a ten she nearly died of excitement. The exact number she needed to land perfectly in the home slot with her other two pawns. Setting her card gently on the table now, she took her time slowly clacking her piece on each square, counting out loud along the way. Buttercup knew the game was over as soon as she sat her card down, but watched with fire in her eyes as her sister tortured her by moving into the home zone excruciatingly slow. Blossom stared into her furious green eyes, eating it up, as she finally dropped her red pawn into the finishing spot. "Guess I fucking win." She said. "Sucks for you."
Buttercup jumped to her feet, hovering over her red sister, with her fists clenched at her sides. Yeah, both sisters were competitive and hated to lose.. but this tension had absolutely nothing to do with the board game.
"Girls?" The Professor said, walking back into the living room. "Have you finished your game?" He smiled, lovingly, once again completely oblivious to what was happening..
"Yes Professor." Blossom smiled smugly, not breaking eye contact with Buttercup. "I won! But don't worry Buttercup, there's always next time."
Bubbles brought a plate of piping hot cookies in, setting them on the table. Both girls ripped their attention from their stare down, taking in the glorious smell that filled the room. They both reached for one, suddenly all smiles and plopped down on the couch to enjoy them.
Blossom always had a weakness for sweets and Buttercup loved all food. Aside from being super beings, it was probably the one thing they had in common. In most aspects they were complete opposites.
The Professor excused himself to his lab and their blonde sister sat in between them. "I'm glad you decided to come tonight BC."
"Me? I always show up to family night. I'm surprised she actually bothered to show up." She gestured half assed to Blossom.
Bubbles rested a hand on Blossom's leg, while keeping her attention on Buttercup. "Well obviously she was going to show up, since she's been staying here."
Blossom closed her eyes, and sighed. She knew it was coming but had secretly hoped that Bubbles would forget to mention that little detail. But Bubbles always has had an eye for detail...
Buttercup scrunched her eyebrows and looked from Bubbles to Blossom, confused. "Why have you been staying here? You have your own place." Oh now she wanted to talk.
"I just…" She started, avoiding her sister's prying eyes. "I need some fresh air actually." She said, suddenly standing and bolting for the front door.
Bubbles and Buttercup exchanged a glance. Bubbles sighed, feeling very left out, but she just wanted the pickering to stop. "Go talk to her."
Buttercup crossed her arms. "No. Why should I? She's the one-"
"Can't you see that she's struggling?" Bubbles asked, her sapphire orbs pleading.
Buttercup took a deep breath and relaxed for a moment before giving in, "Fine." She took two more cookies on her way out.
Blossom was sitting on the roof when Buttercup came out of the house. After a lifetime of living with her pink sister, she already knew right where she'd be. Blossom used to sit on the roof to get some privacy when they all shared a room. She flew up to meet her, taking a seat a few tiles away, leaving only a space between them. Buttercup didn't say anything, she wasn't really the type to back down from a disagreement and certainly wasn't the type to apologize.. So no chance of that happening. Honestly, she didn't know what Bubbles expected her to do. It's not like her and Blossom had ever been that close in the first place. They both had always been closer to Bubbles.
The two girls sat in silence, enjoying the cool breeze, until Blossom finally broke the silence. She knew that it had likely been Bubble's idea, but Buttercup still made the effort to come seek her out, and she obviously didn't have to. She let out a long drawn out sigh, "I'm not seeing him anymore." She didn't look her sister in the eye, instead staring at the tiles below her and tracing along the lines with her finger.
Buttercup relaxed the rest of the tension she'd been holding onto. "Good."
She felt a pang in her chest and instinctively reached for her heart, only stopping when she noticed Buttercup watching her. She laid back on the roof and looked up at the sky. "Yeah.. I guess." It was barely audible, but Buttercup heard her.
"I just don't understand what you ever could've seen in a guy like him." It wasn't. A question, it was a dig.
That's what Blossom hated the most about Buttercup. She was very opinionated and hardly ever changed her mind when she made it up. Blossom was stubborn too, but not nearly in the same way that her green sister was. Maybe as a kid.. but she had long since grown out of that.
"Look, I know you don't get it but.. He's not nearly as bad as you make him out to be." Blossom defended.
Buttercup rolled her eyes, but laid back on the roof, joining her sister. "If that's true.. Then why aren't you seeing him anymore?" Blossom bit her lip, not knowing how to approach the conversation or what she should say. Was it best to tell the truth or…? Before she could answer, Buttercup spoke again, "Were you just fucking, or like actually dating him?"
She swallowed. "I guess technically.. We were just sleeping together." It was a lot more to her than the negative connotation behind the word "fucking."
"That's disturbing." Buttercup groaned. "But I'm glad you finally came to your senses. You're too good to be with a loser like him."
She hated that word too. good. Who decided what was good or bad anyway? Wrong or right? It was all subjective.
"He's not a loser." Blossom felt herself getting irritated and tried not to lose her cool." She wasn't trying to defend him at every turn but she couldn't help it. He may have been a lot of things, but he wasn't a loser.
Buttercup stared at her, dumbfounded. "Then answer my question from before. Why aren't you seeing him anymore?"
"You won't like the answer."
Her raven haired sister turned on her side, to face her. "Maybe not. But I don't like any part of this… But as disgusting as it was, you did seem pretty cozy in bed." She almost gagged at the last word.
Blossom took a deep breath, really thinking about her answer. "I like him more than he likes me." She sat back up and began fingering the roof tiles again. She was restless and couldn't sit still. Anxious..
"You're right. I'm sorry I asked." Buttercup said, rolling her eyes. "But it still proves my point. He was just using you for sex, right?"
"Well.." She began, "No, not exactly. We weren't in a relationship. We were just fooling around and I caught feelings. So no, it's not all on him. Actually.. He doesn't even know how I feel."
Buttercup rubbed her temples. "I mean, he's a villain Bloss. How did this even happen? When did he get back to Townsville?"
"I don't know when he got back, I met him the night that we crashed that villain party. Before you and Bubs got there. Anyway he's basically just a regular guy now. He lives a pretty normal life." Blossom didn't actually know if that was fully true, but it's what she thought and hoped. She certainly never saw or heard of him doing any criminal things since they'd been seeing each other.
"Does he have a normal job then? Or else how is he paying for shit?"
Blossom sighed. "No, but.."
"Exactly. And why was he at that party if he's not a villain?"
Blossom was starting to get worked up again. Buttercup had a thousand questions and accusations and no answer would ever be good enough. She hated Brick because she decided it a long time ago, based on his past indiscretions and she wouldn't go back on it, even if he was a better person now. And Blossom truly believed he was. The only way Buttercup would be happy was if Blossom condemned Brick and ran his name into the ground, hating him again like they all used to. But Blossom never did hate Brick, she didn't now and she didn't when they were younger. Buttercup only assumed she did because they were enemies.
"Buttercup I don't want to fight anymore. Whatever we.. had is over now anyway. So can we just move past it?"
"You're really done with him?" She questioned, almost suspiciously.
Blossom nodded, swallowing the Brick sized lump in her throat.
Trying to get over the heartache that was Brick, was proving to be more difficult than she'd realized. The last 'fight' they had, though you could hardly call it that, more of a hiatus really.. Had brought them even closer after. Coming down from that high now, was living hell.
It'd been a long time since Blossom had hung out with just herself, not really being that fond of her own company.. but the more time spent at her family home, the more she wanted to be alone. Well, not as much as she wanted to be with Brick… But that was besides the point. Since that wasn't an option, at least not one she was willing to give in to.. She had been spending more of her time outdoors. Taking long walks mostly, she'd been to the zoo the day before and today she was going to the park to read. She knew that sunlight, and being outdoors, especially walking helped with depression.
First she was going to visit her favorite little bookstore, one that she used to frequent when she was younger. 'Mr. Smith's Book Cavern' was just a few blocks away and sadly, she hadn't been in over a year.
When she pushed the heavy wooden door open and heard the little bell chime, she instantly felt more relaxed. This place was her home away from home in highschool. There was something so calming about the atmosphere, the scent of lightly dusted used books wafted into her nostrils the moment she entered.
The short, white haired man behind the counter smiled warmly at her from behind his thin wired glasses. He did a double take realizing that it was her. "Blossom Utonium! It's been so long!"
She smiled back happily, Mr. Smith or Pops as he preferred to be called, was the owner of the book store and the sweetest old man she'd ever met. "Hi Pops. How have you and Gloria been?" She asked, approaching him at the counter, with the first genuine smile that she'd had in days.
"Oh we've been just wonderful dear! Just got back from a trip to the Grand Canyon actually. I'll have to let her know you stopped by. So what brings you in today? Looking for anything in particular?"
Blossom shrugged, "No, not really. But I'm always open to a good suggestion." She raised an eyebrow, hopeful that he had one.
"Actually, I just got one in that I think you'd like!" Excitedly, he stepped out from behind the computer and gestured for her to follow him. He led her to a packed shelf in the back corner of the store, near a staircase that went up to the second floor. "Now I don't know if you've already got your hands on this one, but I remember you mentioning it the last time you were in." Blossom smiled, flattered that he would remember a book she'd wanted to purchase over a year ago. That's why he was a great business owner and why this book store was her favorite in the world. He let his finger trail along the ledge of the shelf, searching for the appropriate author. "Here we are!" He pulled out a book and held it out to examine it.
Her eyes went a little wider as she took the novel from him and ran her hand over the cover. "I can't believe you remembered!" She previously owned a copy of, 'The Phantom Of The Opera' but it had been destroyed during a monster fight a few years back. She insisted only on buying used copies, from local stores so she'd been waiting until there was a copy available. Of course, life had gotten in the way and she hadn't been back since that day to check in on one.
"Oh, I still have a sharp mind. Don't let this white hair fool ya." He laughed and patted her on the arm.
Blossom excused herself to roam the endless shelves, taking her time browsing through the rest of the used book collection. She picked out a handful of other books, said her goodbye to Pops and headed to the nearest park.
The sun was shining brightly, the rays warming her skin as she sprawled out in the lush grass. She glanced around the park at the scatters of people, immediately her eyes fell on a seemingly happy couple canoodling on a bench. Scoffing, she looked away and directed her attention back to her satchel of books. She pulled out her new copy of, 'The Phantom Of The Opera' and began reading the familiar story.
It didn't take Blossom long to read her novel cover to cover. She had always been an abnormally fast reader, not only because of her powers. She sighed, realizing she may have made a mistake re-reading this particular book in her current state of mind. She loved this book, as well as the movie, so she already knew the plot and saw no harm in diving into it again. But she fell victim to her beloved book, finding comfort in the words, and accidentally applying them to her own life and current heartache. As one tended to do. She'd always had a soft spot for The Phantom, I mean come on, a tortured antihero with a tragic backstory. He's dangerous and bold, but also romantic and passionate. Horrifyingly thrilling in a way that just draws you in..
And that's how she ended up on Brick's doorstep.
She rationalized that Brick wasn't as to blame as she originally thought. They weren't dating after all, and he never said they were exclusive. Just because she just hoped they would be, selfishly, didn't mean she should project that onto him. Especially when she never even mentioned it to him, how could he be in the wrong when he didn't know any better. He didn't know what she wanted, she didn't even know what she wanted. How could she possibly be upset with his behavior when she hooked up with him the first time she went to his house?.. Not knowing anything about him aside from the fact that he was once her enemy and that he'd grown extremely attractive. Not only had she made a complete jealous idiot out of herself, but she also shot her lasers at him, in his own house! She was more than a little ashamed of herself, for a variety of reasons. He was the one who should've been upset with her.
She was standing on the stoop of his house, thinking everything through, but the more she thought about it the less confident she felt about knocking. Honestly, Brick probably didn't want anything to do with her at this point, and she couldn't really blame him if he didn't.
So much for being a 'fearless leader' she couldn't even work up the courage to knock on a damn door. She was anything but fearless when it came to him. Not that she was scared of him, definitely not. They were evenly matched in that department, but she was a nervous wreck seeking his affection and afraid of rejection, afraid of the certain unhappiness that she would face if she lost him for good.
Maybe she should've texted first, or at least checked her phone to see if he'd contacted her. That's what she would do, go back to her apartment and grab the cell phone that she'd previously shoved in her desk drawer.
She froze when she heard the door creak open, and there was Brick.
Time to face your fears, Blossom. Deep breath.
Breathe in 1.. 2.. 3..
Breathe out 1.. 2.. 3..
But then his arms were around her, just like that. He didn't question why she was there, or ask her to leave. Her arms looped around his neck automatically, drawing him closer. He nuzzled into her neck, keeping one hand tightly wrapped around her waist, as if locking her into place and his other hand held the back of her head tenderly. He breathed in the scent of her hair and then let out a deep sigh. Then he picked her up, and carried her up to his bedroom.
He rolled onto his bed with her and they stayed entangled like that for a long time. He stroked her hair over and over, kissing the top of her head every now and again and she just lay there trying not to let her heart beat clear out of her chest.
Blossom had been lying there, thinking, like always. overthinking. So she was the first to break the silence, when she finally sat up and faced him. "Brick, I was really out of line the other day and-"
"No you weren't." He lifted her onto his lap and she adjusted herself so she was straddling him as he lay on the bed. "Blossom I didn't sleep with that woman." She furrowed her eyebrows, showing her doubt. "HIM sent her here to mess with you."
"HIM?... Why?" The look on her face was more concerned now than anything. She had no reason not to believe him, especially when HIM was known for messing with people's heads, trying to hurt them psychologically. It wouldn't be the first time he tried to attack her and her sisters with mind games.
Brick rested his hands on her inner thighs. "You know how he is. He was trying to fuck with us."
Blossom sighed and her face fell. "I guess I should've listened to you when you tried to explain, instead of shooting you with my lasers.." She bit her bottom lip, nervously. "I'm really sorry Brick."
She meant it with her whole heart, she should've gone for a physical attack because she was hurting emotionally. He didn't deserve that and she should have been a better person than to stoop so low.
"No need to apologize, baby." He moved to kiss her, planting tender little kisses over her neck and jaw. "But Blossom, it kills me when you leave."
End Ch 5
Been a minute since I updated this one. Please comment if you're actually reading this, so I know if I should keep going. I have some pretty big ideas for this story..
