"Izu-kuuuuuun! I'm boooored!"
A long, droning whine passed Toga's lips as the godlike girl dramatically splayed her upper body across Izuku's desk, fake tears pooling in the corner of her eyes as she pleadingly reached out toward the green-haired hero in a vain bid for comfort, fingers grabbing at him in a futile attempt for connection. All the blonde schoolgirl managed to receive in return was a look of perplexed confusion from the young hero, Izuku surprised by Toga's childish complaint, the freckled-faced boy backing up slightly in his chair as she began incessantly smacking his desk, momentarily drawing the attention of their classmates, all of them returning to their own conversations after seeing that it was just Toga being Toga.
"But, Toga-chan, I thought you were having fun?" Izuku queried, his voice fraught with confusion and just a hint of disappointment, the young hero having enjoyed seeing the blonde schoolgirl in such high spirits the last couple of weeks as she helped with the preparations for the school festival. Whether it be practicing the choreography for what Mina had dubbed the 'Couples' portion of the dance, helping the staging crew with their sets, or just preparing snacks for the class, Toga would constantly wear a smile of immeasurable joy, her delighted laughter echoing throughout the dorms as she jumped from task to task.
She was a veritable whirlwind of activity, hopping from group to group with rapid frequency, seemingly appearing at the slightest mishap or crossroad to help fix the problem with a helping hand and a dazzling smile. Seeing one of their classmates work so hard, especially a notorious slacker and troublemaker like Toga, seemed to fire up the rest of the class, everyone's spirits lifted by her infectious attitude and all-encompassing good cheer.
So to hear her complain, seeing the dull listlessness in her golden gaze as she stared up at him, made an uncomfortable weight settle in Izuku's stomach. He thought she was happy, that she was finally connecting with her classmates, that she was doing something she truly enjoyed, free from her own manipulation of the universe.
"I aaaaaaaam!" Toga sighed as she dramatically rolled onto her back, arms splayed out haphazardly off the side of his desk, her legs kicking lazily in the air as she stared at the upside-down features of her beloved hero. "But I want to spend time with my Izu-kun! Just us and no one else!"
A dark, all-encompassing blush inflamed Izuku's cheeks a dark crimson as he nervously averted his gaze from the godlike girl, the loving shine in her golden eyes too much to bear for the young hero, his heart beating wildly in his chest. How can she so consistently get under his skin? No matter how often he heard these loving words pass her lips, which was multiple times a day at this point, it still managed to make his heart flutter and cause his face to flare up like a firework.
With sudden and deceptive speed, Toga let out a loud gasp before rolling back into an upright position, the godlike girl slamming her hands loudly upon Izuku's desk, making the mop-headed boy jump in fright, a small squeak of surprise escaping his mouth as the godlike girl brought her beaming face mere inches from his own, golden orbs alight with barely restrained joy.
"I want to go to the city!"
Blinking a couple of times in surprise, emerald eyes focused intently on Toga's bright grinning face, Izuku was momentarily taken aback by the godly schoolgirl's request. Of all things to come out of the golden-eyed girl's mouth…well…it wasn't really the craziest thing ever. As the thought continued to roll around in his head, all the fun they could have and the cool places they could visit made the smile on Izuku's slowly grow bigger and bigger until it broke out into a full-blown grin, the young hero's emerald eyes alight with excitement.
"Okay. Let's go!" Jumping out of his seat with a surprisingly boisterous cry, one that managed to startle the grape-headed boy behind him, Izuku clenched his fist tightly as he gave Toga, who was staring up at him in reverent awe, a reassuring smile. "I'm sure taking a break will be ok. I'll go check with Mina and Jiro!"
As Izuku quickly made his way to the back of the class where Mina and Jiro were currently discussing the details of a certain segment of the routine, Toga watched him go with a love-struck grin, completely unaware of a certain nighttime hero's watchful stare. Lying in his trusty sleeping bag at the front of the class, face perfectly hidden beneath his long curtain of unkempt hair. Aizawa watched the proceeding events with great interest, a plan slowly forming in his mind as Izuku nervously called out to Jiro and Mina.
With Toga sufficiently distracted by Izuku, his blonde student feeling most comfortable and at ease whenever she's in the problem child's presence, it would give them the perfect opportunity to gather more information on just what kind of powers she possessed and what they were capable of. Aizawa had tried to keep tabs on her during their raid on Overhaul's compound, but, due to the extenuating circumstances and sheer hectic nature of the operation, the nighttime hero had failed to procure anything of worth from his investigation.
But, with her defenses lowered, lost as she always seemed to be in her love-induced haze around the green-haired boy, the city could serve as the perfect backdrop for their reconnaissance. He would have to inform his colleagues as soon as possible, so they can begin formulating a plan of attack, the bright smile on Izuku's face as he returned to his seat to tell Toga the good news indicative that his request for a day off was granted.
Feeling his eyelids begin to droop, the Eraser user groaned inwardly at how much sleep he will lose doing this, Aizawa kept his gaze locked on the conversing pair as he slowly fell into a deep sleep, the last thing he saw before everything went dark was Toga's excited smile as she stared loving at the green-haired boy.
'Wait…' Snapping upright in his seat, sweat pooling on his brow, Izuku's gaze nervously swept across the packed subway car to the girl seated next to him, Toga lazily browsing on her phone as she cozily leaned up against his side. 'Is this a date?!'
Him and Toga. Taking a trip to the city to spend time together. Having fun. Getting food. Just the two of them. Alone.
Oh crap, it is a date! Panic and fear began welling up in Izuku's chest as his eyes rapidly darted across the subway car, his mind running a mile a minute as a rapid-fire barrage of fears and last-minute ideas flew through his brain. Where would they go? Would this be considered a casual date? Where do you usually take a girl on one of those?! He forgot to ask Momo for ideas in case this scenario popped up! How could he have been so stupid!? Of course this would happen at some point! It was Toga for All Might's sake!
Gripping the fabric of his pants tight, Izuku tried to devise an impromptu plan in his mind, shaking his head as each one seemed worse than the last. They weren't fun or interesting enough. They didn't show enough forethought or care in their decision. They weren't good enough. All Izuku wanted was for this date to be good, that Toga would look back on it fondly, his old fear of the godlike girl possibly reacting in anger if it wasn't perfect a faraway thought in his mind.
He just wanted Toga to be happy.
"Just figured out this was a date, huh, Izu-kun?" Jumping slightly, caught completely unawares during his mental debate, the green-haired boy slowly turned to face the godly schoolgirl sitting at his side, Toga looking up from her phone with a smug grin. As he stared, panic-stricken, into Toga's grinning face, Izuku absently noticed a picture of himself during dance practice as her wallpaper, the young hero deciding to file that information away for later.
Right now, he had bigger problems to contend with.
"GAH!" A loud, startled cry erupted from Izuku's chest at Toga's comment, the green-haired hero
flinching slightly when he noticed the attention of the passengers had all been drawn to him, the
wielder of One For All lowering his voice to a seething whisper, cupping his hand secretively over his
mouth. "I-I thought you said you weren't going to read my mind."
"I didn't." Toga snickered softly, poking the panicking boy playfully on the cheek with a soft 'boop', her other hand placed daintily over her mouth as she looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. "I just know you that well."
Lowering his head with a dejected sigh, once again thoroughly embarrassed by the godlike girl, Izuku perked up slightly when he felt Toga lightly begin petting the top of his head. Peeking at her out of the corner of his eye, a light blush covered his cheeks at the practically serene smile she was giving him, her eyes closed in an almost blissful manner.
"Don't worry, Izu-kun." Toga whispered softly in a reassuring tone as she continued to run her fingers through the tangled mop of curly green hair, the tenseness in Izuku's shoulders instinctively loosening from her gentle ministrations and calming voice. "This time, I'm taking care of everything."
Bounding out of the train and onto the crowded platform, several people jumping out of the way of the speeding blonde blur, Toga turned to grin at the green-haired boy trailing after her, Izuku's free arm flailing as he was forcefully dragged through the packed station and toward the busy city streets by the godly schoolgirl. Ducking and weaving through the never-ending sea of people making their daily commute through the subway, Toga's giggles somehow managed to rise above the din of clomping footsteps and senseless chatter reverberating in the young hero's ears, the exuberant blonde turning to face her date with an ecstatic grin illuminating her features by the bright afternoon sun shining down on them from between the rising skyscrapers.
"Izu-kun! Izu-kun, c'mon!"
As Toga joyfully pulled the hapless boy down the bustling sidewalk to a destination only known to her, numerous set of eyes, unbeknownst to them, were watching their every move like a hawk. With his hair slicked back in a messy ponytail, his face shielded by a nondescript black baseball cap and dark shades, Aizawa silently ghosted his charges from a safe distance, remaining alert at all times for any change in his blonde student's actions, making sure to always stay out of the pairs possible line of sight.
Subtly adjusting the miniature earpiece with a quick scratch of his fake beard, Aizawa briefly averted his gaze from his students to peer over to the adjacent sidewalk, his dark eyes instantly spotting Midnight waiting patiently at a nearby crosswalk, gaze casually focused on the passing duo. The R-Rated hero's 'controversial' attire was replaced with a drab, gray pantsuit, her hair neatly done up in a professional bun, face expertly hidden behind a face mask, Midnight letting out a couple of fake coughs to help sell the illusion.
Their operation was going just according to plan, Aizawa thought as he fished in his pocket for change as he made his way to a nearby vending machine, the nighttime hero pretending to browse the selection just as Midnight crossed his path and continued his previous job of following the pair of students. Each member of the faculty has taken up various locations in the city to observe the pair's 'date', some hiding in alleys and rooftops, while others, such as himself and Midnight, blended in with the crowds to better tail them to their destinations.
To help ensure that they won't lose sight of them at any point, Principle Nezu and All Might were currently located in a secure safe house, watching everything through the city's CCTV grid. All Might and Nezu had pulled some strings with their contacts within the city council and the police force respectively, the two of them watching Toga and Izuku's movement from every angle conceivable. The guilt All Might felt for infringing on the green-haired boy's privacy was settled somewhat by the need to contain whatever unknown power slumbered within the golden-eyed girl.
If Toga were to do anything abnormal, if she were to tap into that power, they were guaranteed to catch it.
"You're going to love this new cafe we're going to, Izu-kun!" Toga happily sighed as she leaned dramatically into Izuku's side, the mop-headed boy's cheeks dusting a soft pink as the godly blonde sneakily wrapped her arm around his waist, pushing herself even closer into his body, golden orbs looking up at him with a loving gaze. "Momo wouldn't shut up about it so I just know it's going to be good."
In actuality, Momo had only been secretly bringing up the cafe whenever Toga was around to subconsciously plant the idea into her golden-eyed friend's head, the bubbly heiress doing her best to try and coerce the two into a relationship. The money for the bet was trivial to her, the amount a mere drop in an endless ocean to the wealthy heiress, Momo simply wanting to see her two friends happy.
And getting that feeling of satisfaction of helping a new love blossom in the world.
"Ah! There it is!" Pulling herself away from his side, a strange chill running through the green-haired heroes side at the sudden loss of contact, Toga excitedly hopped up and down, buns bouncing playfully atop her head as she pointed to a nearby building. Izuku only managed to get a brief glimpse of the building's exterior before being forcefully pulled towards the entrance, the young boy barely getting out a yelp of surprise before feeling the cool air of the cafe's AC across his face, the last couple of seconds of his life feeling like they had just disappeared in a flash of chaotic movement.
"A table for two please!" Raising her hand high into the air, two fingers pointed proudly to the sky above, Toga's loud exclamation briefly silenced the entire cafe, everyone turning to look at the newcomers with expressions ranging from confused to annoyed, causing Izuku to shamefully hide his face in his hands.
"Y-yes. Right this way, please." Gesturing politely for them to follow her, a couple of menus tucked neatly under her arm, their server silently led them to the back end of the cafe, purposefully seating them as far away from the rest of the patrons as possible.
"Any drinks I can get you started with?" Placing a copy of the menu in front of them, pulling a digital notepad from her pocket, their server turned to them with a strained smile as Toga bounced excitedly in her seat, an almost feral grin spread across the blonde girls face as she read over the menu.
"Um, a green tea is fine for me, please." Izuku whispered softly as he slid the menu to the edge of the table, the young hero too ashamed to look up, afraid of staring into the disapproving faces of their fellow customers. Reactions like this were common, if not downright expected, when spending time in a public setting with Toga. And yet, Izuku still had trouble adjusting to it sometimes. With a life where he had been pretty much ignored, and at times even actively despised, finding himself at the end of so much attention could be overwhelming.
"A latte for me!" Cheered Toga with an enthusiastic cry, the godlike girl losing her grip on the menu in her hand as she whipped her arms into the air with reckless abandon, her eyes growing wide as she briefly fumbled with the laminated piece of paper. Handing the menu to the clearly exasperated woman while giggling merrily to herself, Toga turned to face her date with a sparkling grin, her eyes closed with content happiness as she rested her head in the palms of her hands.
But, Izuku mused silently to himself as he gazed fondly at the girl sitting across from him, seeing that smile on Toga's face seemed to make everything feel just a bit better.
The pair exchanged a bit of small talk, which mainly consisted of Toga loudly proclaiming her excitement for the rest of the date, before the waitress returned with their drinks, the steaming hot mugs placed gently in front of their respective owners. Taking a careful sip of his green tea, the slightly bitter taste briefly lingering on his tongue as the mop-headed boy let out a satisfied sigh, Izuku lifted his head to continue his conversation but stopped short when he noticed Toga gleefully playing with the foam sitting atop her latte.
The godly schoolgirl was giggling softly to herself as she twirled her finger to and fro above the bubbly foam adorning her drink, lines of sickly crimson drawing an intricate design of each of their names upon its surface in blood. Satisfied with the result, Toga quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket, rapid-fire sounds of a camera shutter going off filling the air as the excitable blonde took a series of pictures of her creation.
Looking over the series of pictures with a proud smile, Toga nodded her head, clearly satisfied, before returning her phone to her pocket. Dipping her spoon into the frothy mixture, blood, milk, and coffee swirled about in a mesmerizing whirlpool, the usually brown liquid taking on a hint of red as more and more blood was added to the mixture. Taking an experimental sip, Toga let out a delighted squeal before devouring half of her drink in one go, an exaggerated sigh of satisfaction passing her lips, tongue lolling lazily out of the side of her mouth as she looked up at the ceiling in a blissful daze.
"Toga-chan?" Taking another sip of his drink, a small blush covering his cheeks from the godlike girls 'enthusiastic' display of delight, Izuku felt his natural curiosity take over as Toga gave him a questioning stare. "How does your quirk work? With the blood, I mean."
"Aww, Izu-kun, you're so sweet, taking an interest in me like that." Covering her cheeks bashfully with her hands, Toga shyly fluttered her eyelashes at her green-haired date, Izuku momentarily choking on his drink causing her to softly snicker to herself. He was just too cute!
"I can transform into anyone whose blood I ingest." Toga began in a faux lecturing tone, the blonde schoolgirl grinning when she noticed Izuku pulling out his trusty hero notebook, the green-haired boy staring at her intently, waiting for her to go on. She loved having all of his attention focused only on her. It made her feel special.
"The more of the person's blood I take, the longer I can imitate them. And, if I drink multiple people's blood at the same time, I can transform and change into either one. I can even duplicate their clothes but my own clothes would get in the way. That's why I get naked!"
Jumping in his seat at the loud exclamation, Izuku felt a nervous sweat roll down his neck as he felt everyone's eyes turn to look at them, Toga merely grinning back at him without a care in the world. With his history, how open and free Toga had been with her body in front of him, he should have expected something like this from her. But, alas, he still couldn't quite roll with the punches she'd throw at him.
"I always loved blood. Ever since I was a child." Blinking a couple of times in surprise, the scratching of his pencil falling silent at the sudden shift in Toga's expression, her voice taking on a more melancholic, almost wistful tone, the sparkle in her eyes dulled as they grew dark and hazy with sadness.
"I found this pretty little bird one day, dead, cold, and lifeless, its feathers stained a beautiful red with blood. It was so beautiful, so tasty. I had never experienced something so wonderful."
Holding out her hands, as if miming she was carrying a small bird, Toga's gaze grew soft and dreamy, as if she was remembering something from a time long past, the smile on her lips not quite reaching her eyes as they got lost in her memories.
"I wanted to share it with my parents, to show them the pretty little bird, but all they did was look at it, at me, with disgust. They were horrified at what I was, at what my quirk was. I was told to stop, to not show this side of myself. No one was allowed to know. I had to be the perfect little girl. I had to be normal."
A deep frown marred Izuku's features as he listened to Toga's story, the hand holding his pencil clutching it tightly as he felt the anger rise in his chest, the writing utensil creaking softly from his increased grip, a hard edge glowing in his emerald eyes.
"I did as they said. The way they looked at me, the horror in their eyes whenever I said something weird, when I would let slip and say anything related to blood. It was like I was a monster, that there was something wrong with me. They had to be right. No one who was normal was looked at that way. So that's what I decided to do. I was going to be the normal."
"That's horrible." Shaking his head in disgust, Izuku glared angrily at the surface of his notebook, the sketch of Toga's smiling face practically mocking him, his voice rough with barely restrained anger and revulsion. "I'm so sorry that that happened to you, Toga-chan."
"It's ok, Izu-kun." Shrugging her shoulders, Toga gave the green-haired hero a small, sad smile, her finger idly tracing the rim of her cup as she stared into the swirling mixture of blood and coffee. "I was just destined to become a villain from the start."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!"
Slamming his hands down roughly upon the table, cups rattling noisily from the impact, a loud screech echoed through the cafe as Izuku angrily jumped to his feet, causing his chair to drag loudly across the floor.
"I-Izu-kun?" Toga's voice came out as a breathless whisper as she stared up at the green-haired boy, taken aback by the anger in his voice and the hateful glare in his emerald eyes. Why? Why was he so mad? It wasn't directed at her, which she was usually accustomed to, but instead at what had been done to her. No one had ever cared before. It had always been her fault. Because she was strange, because she wasn't normal. So why?
"No one, no matter their quirk, is born a villain! There was nothing wrong with you or your quirk! You should never have been forced to be normal because you were already perfect the way you were! Your parents should never have treated you that way!"
Falling back into his seat with an audible thump, his jaw flexing angrily as he clenched his teeth tightly, the godlike girl remaining silent as Izuku lightly shook his head back and forth, unable to comprehend what she was witnessing.
"They should have loved and cared for you for who you were." Izuku muttered angrily under his breath, his hands clenched tightly in rage as he stared at his reflection in his drink, his incensed features dancing across its rippling surface. "They should have seen how special you were."
Silence fell over the pair as Toga sat in stunned disbelief, Izuku's words rolling over and over again in her head, everything in the cafe slowly coming to a standstill as she tried to digest just what he had said. Each sweet word, tinged with righteous anger and disgust for her sake, made her heart beat faster and faster, a soft, pink hue coloring her cheeks as she looked at him with shining golden eyes.
He wasn't disgusted by her, by her quirk. He didn't see her as a villain or as a monster that needed to be quelled and repressed. He thought she was special, someone worthy of love and affection. They weren't empty words of fake outrage. Izuku spoke with the same intensity and conviction as when he declared that he would save Eri from Overhaul's clutches, the same spark of passion illuminating his emerald gaze.
It was for her, all for her.
Smiling warmly at the green-haired boy, Toga slowly got to her feet, a pulse of energy radiating outward from her and encompassing the entire room, making the cafe and its occupants disappear until all that was left was her and her Izu-kun. Grabbing the bewildered boy by the hand, his sweeping gaze falling onto her smiling face as she pulled him toward the center of the now empty room, each step causing new decor to pop up until the once stylish cafe now resembled a gorgeous ballroom.
Spinning on her heels, arms spread out wide in a grand flourish, Toga giggled joyfully as she lept into Izuku's unexpected embrace, the godlike girl happily nuzzling his cheek before pulling back to look into his bewildered face. Wrapping her arms securely around his neck, her cheek resting comfortably against his chest, Toga slowly led the wielder of One For All in a romantic dance, music drifting softly over the pair from seemingly nowhere.
"I wish the whole world was as wonderful as you are, Izu-kun." Toga whispered softly as she pulled herself closer, a dreamy sigh passing her lips as she inhaled the subtle hint of the green-haired boy's scent, her head swimming with nothing but love for her Izu-kun. Right here, in this very moment in time, Toga felt truly happy.
As Toga clung tightly to the green-haired boy, her body flush with his as their feet stepped lightly in rhythm with the music, all Izuku could hear was his own heartbeat pounding loudly in his ears as he stared down at the mess of blonde hair resting against his chest. With the godly girl holding him tight, feeling the warmth of her body pressed against his own, the young hero felt his cheeks light up and his head swim with rising emotions.
His earlier outburst had surprised even him, the anger and frustration at the horrible treatment Toga had to endure as a child had overridden all of his senses, leaving only rage and disgust. No child should ever have been treated in such a manner, especially not for something they couldn't control. But, there was a strange pain that had pricked at his chest when he heard her speak, saw the resigned look on her face when she called herself a villain. It wasn't right.
Toga deserved to be happy. He never wanted to see her like that again. He wanted to see her smile, to hear her laugh and shout with joy, to see the brilliant sparkle in her eyes as she talked. He wanted to be the one to make her happy, to be there for her, always.
'I think…' Feeling a smile curl on his lips, Izuku gently placed his hands on the blonde girl's hips, causing Toga to beam with joy as a small blush lit up her cheeks. 'I think I've fallen for her.'
'I think I'm in love with Toga.'
As the pair slowly swayed to the music, soft smiles adorning their faces as they held each other close, multiple sets of eyes watched the unfolding events in shocked disbelief. Hidden in an alley across the road, Aizawa stared wide-eyed at what Toga had done, his mouth briefly hanging open in shock before clenching shut in a nervous frown, the nighttime hero quickly retreating further into the darkness.
"Did everyone catch that?" Aizawa growled through gritted teeth as he climbed up the walls of a nearby building, the Eraser hero pulling himself over the ledge and onto the roof where he found Midnight pacing nervously back and forth as she stared down at the cafe.
"How did she do that?" Midnight cried as she ripped the mask off of her face, sky blue eyes wide with fear and confusion as she desperately pleaded for an answer from her colleague, fingers trembling slightly as she crumpled the piece of fabric within her fist. "Everything, everyone, just disappeared!"
"It was as if she simply erased them from existence." Ectoplasm's voice crackled in over their earpieces, his usually stoic and calm voice sounding stiff and on edge, the weight of his words resting uncomfortably in the nighttime hero's stomach.
"Our instruments noticed a strange spike of energy radiating off of Toga, like a momentary tear in space, before everyone vanished. It seemed to resonate only within the building, nothing else in the vicinity being affected by it. Whatever powers she posses, she has complete and utter control over it."
Peering down onto the pair of students, completely oblivious to what was going on around them as they continued their dance, Nezu's words rolled unpleasantly around in Aizawa's head, his dark gaze focused squarely on the blonde schoolgirl wrapped in Izuku's embrace.
"Something will have to be done about her," Aizawa declared, his voice dark and foreboding as all the events of the past couple of months flashed through his mind, all of the missing pieces of the mystery surrounding Toga slowly sliding into place, "and soon."
"Aaaaaah! That was a wonderful date!" Stretching her arms high into the air, Toga let out a long, satisfied sigh as she smiled up at the green-haired boy walking at her side, a tooth-filled grin plastered across her face as she happily skipped down the road. "I can't wait to tell Momo all about it!"
Izuku could only chuckle softly in response, the fatigue of the day slowly beginning to settle into his legs as they made their way back to the subway station, the setting sun casting an orange haze across the reflective surface of the nearby skyscrapers. Despite the packed day they had, Toga was still brimming with energy, the godlike girl practically flying as she danced in and around him.
After their short, dare he say romantic, dance, Toga had returned the cafe to normal so they could finish their drinks before heading off to their next destination. Toga had dragged him through various stores, the godlike girl bubbling with excitement as she forced the green-haired boy into a multitude of outfits, some Izuku was somehow coerced into buying. He had to admit that some of them were pretty nice, Toga throwing him a bone and allowing him to pick out a pair of limited edition All Might socks, the young hero practically beaming as the cashier run them up.
From trying out numerous snacks and browsing ill-gotten weaponry, the rest of the day was spent with good cheer and fun as the pair enjoyed each other's company, the hours flying by until it was finally time to return to U.A.'s campus. Another school day was ahead of them, to be followed with more rigorous practicing and training, so the pair decided to make their way back before the evening rush started.
Quickly glancing over his shoulder, Izuku's eyes briefly widened before he quickly snapped back around, Toga giving him a confused look as the green-haired boy's body went completely stiff.
"Umm, I-I just remembered I need to g-go check something." Slowly backing away from the confused blonde, Izuku fidgeting nervously as he gestured behind him, the green-haired boy stumbling painfully over his words. "I'll be right back!"
Spinning stiffly on his heels, Izuku disappeared in a green blur as he quickly sped down the road, cries of surprise and annoyance, followed by quick apologies, floating up from the crowd of people as the young hero got swallowed up by the sea of human bodies.
Smiling brightly, Toga enthusiastically waved toward the retreating boy, though he had disappeared a long time ago, her golden eyes sparkling with delight as she watched him go. Slowly lowering her arms back down, letting them hang limply by her side, the smile on Toga's lips gradually morphed into an angry frown, darkness creeping into her golden gaze as she glared into the distance.
"Did you think I didn't know you were there?"
The whole world froze as the words passed Toga's lips, the godlike turning around to face the assembled group of U.A.'s faculty, all of them looking at the blonde schoolgirl in mute terror. Their wide, horrified gaze flickered between each other and their surroundings in fear, wondering how they had ended up there. Even All Might and Nezu, who had thought themselves safe in their hideout had been transported there, the former number 1 hero swallowing nervously as he stared into the cold, hateful eyes of the blonde god.
"I know you've been watching me for some time." Toga growled as her gaze slowly turned to her homeroom teacher, the look in her eyes causing Aizawa to involuntarily flinch in fear, his whole body seizing up from the murderous intent radiating off of her body.
"I hate how you are trying to interfere in my life." The godlike girl's voice rumbled painfully in their ears, the weight of each word stabbing their eardrums like hot, iron knives, an oppressive pressure pressing down on them. "I tolerated your little detective game, content in letting you have your fun as long as you left me and my Izu-kun alone."
"But, you tried to ruin my date." A cold chill ran down each of their spines as the world around them grew dark, leaving behind only them and the blonde girl standing before them, twisted shadows dancing across her features as she glared at them.
"So now I'm mad."
Paralyzed with fear, the pro heroes could only shiver in fright as Toga slowly stalked toward them, the shadows shifting and billowing around her in a misty haze as she seemed to loom over them as she got closer, the darkness licking dangerously at their feet, the cold chill of death permeating from its slithering tendrils. Reaching out toward them, the inky blackness swirling between her fingers as they hovered inches from Aizawa's face, tears pooling in the nighttime hero's eyes as he saw his vision get swallowed up by the darkness.
Is this what death felt like?
"But…" clenching her fist closed, the swirling mass of shadows dancing in her palm disappearing in a puff of smoke, Toga took a couple of steps away from the cowering huddle of pro heroes, the orange glow of the fading sunlight slowly piercing through the shadowy veil of darkness, "I will let you go. For Izuku's sake."
In the blink of an eye, the creeping shadows surrounding them disappeared without a trace, the frozen cityscape returning as if everything that had just happened had only been a horrible fever dream. But, one thing remained.
The blonde creature standing ominously before them.
"I will leave you with a warning to never do this again." Toga threatened softly, her tone flat and lifeless as she glared at them, her piercing stare digging deep into their souls, not a hint of emotion or compassion to be found behind her golden gaze.
"Lest you anger your god."
With those parting words hanging threateningly in the air, Toga made the faculty members disappear with a simple passing thought, the godlike girl making sure to wipe all their memories of her and what had happened here today. They will all continue on as if nothing had happened, all suspicion of her and her powers completely erased, never to bother her again.
She'll make sure of that.
"Izu-kun!" Putting the smile back on her face, Toga quickly spun back around, arms raised high in excitement as she called out to the returning wielder of One For All, the curls of his puffy green hair bouncing atop his head as he jogged up to her. Grinning brightly at the young hero, golden eyes alight with joy, Toga clasped her arms behind her back as she eagerly leaned toward him.
"Where did you go, Izu-kun?" Tilting her head quizzically to one side, golden locks waving gently in the breeze as she looked up at Izuku with wide, adoring eyes, a sweet smile curling on the edges of her lips.
"I-" Gulping nervously under her intense stare, his heart jumping nervously into his throat, the young hero swallowed the lump in his throat before lifting his clenched fist toward the godly schoolgirl. "I saw this earlier and thought you might like it so I got it for you."
A soft gasp passed Toga's lips as the green-haired boy opened his hand, a small, phone charm shaped like an adorable knife, bloody tip and all, resting in the palm of his hand. Reaching out, Toga gingerly took the charm from the green-haired boy's hand, dangling it before her eyes as she stared at it in wonder.
"I-I hope you like it." Nervously scratching the back of his head, cheeks burning a brilliant red, Izuku felt his heartbeat quicken as Toga cradled it protectively to her chest as she graced him with a simply wondrous smile.
"I love it."
A/N: Date 2: Successful.
Sorry for the long wait. February ended up being a very dry month for me when it came to creativity and a severe lack of free time and writer's block led to a delay of all of my stories. Things seem to be on track now and I hope to keep this momentum going forward. Thank you for your patience.
Sweet and wonderful(and a little bit of threatening of people's lives) this chapter as Toga and Izuku go on their second official date. We get a glimpse into Toga's past, which in turn brings our two protagonists closer as Izuku shows his anger and disgust at how she was treated. And Izuku can finally place the feeling he has been developing for the godlike girl as he learns that he has fallen for her.
But, with all good things, there comes the bad as Toga finally confronted the teachers who had been spying on her, her affection for Izuku managing to stay her hand as she leaves them alive, deciding to only erase their memories. Her secret will remain safe.
Next chapter: Interference.
Thank you all for your support, both old and new. It makes me so happy that people are continuing to read my story and I just want you all to know, that no matter what, I will continue to work on it until it is done. I hope you all stay safe and look forward to the next one! Love you all!
