The city stood silent.
Where once hundreds of people would be found milling about outside of restaurants and shops, where businessmen and women would be seen lethargically making their way back home after another grueling day at the office, there was now only a desolate emptiness, nary hide nor hair to be seen of the bustling populace that would cover the sidewalks with a sea of moving bodies.
Even the usually packed streets, with cars sitting bumper to bumper in the midday traffic, impatiently waiting for the light to change, was devoid of any people or vehicles, the long stretch of asphalt seeming almost lonely without its cavalcade of roaring engines. It was as if the city had been completely and utterly bereft of life.
That is, except for a solitary girl standing in the middle of the empty street, shoulders slumped dejectedly as her arms hung limply at her sides, wisps of blonde hair blowing gently in the almost calm breeze. But Toga's mind was anything but calm, her mind a volcanic hotbed of raging emotions that were threatening to boil over, her surroundings fluctuating as wildly as her thoughts. The air was alive with electricity, rips and tears zigzagging around her feet and head, showing glimpses of possible world lines as Toga's rampaging thoughts threatened to tear the current world asunder.
Grasping the front of her cardigan tightly, fingers bunching the familiar material tightly in her fist, Toga having shed the accursed U.A. blazer for her old uniform, the godlike girl grit her teeth in an angry sneer as the memories of Izuku's accusations prodded at her mind like hot needles. The look in his eyes, the anger and hate in his voice, his words, his horrible, horrible words, all swirled like a roaring inferno of agony within her heart.
'How did it come to this?' Loosening her grip upon the cream-colored fabric, arm falling limply to her side, Toga glared sharply at the asphalt beneath her feet, tears of shame and anger pooling in the corner of her eyes. 'After everything I've done to be better.'
She should have known, should have seen all of this coming. Even without her powers, the outcome should have been clear as day to her. She couldn't trust anyone to understand her, to truly and unequivocally trust in her. She was foolish to ever think that Izuku could. The second that things got bad, when everything wasn't as clear and rosy as he had hoped, when she needed him to listen the most, he turned on her too.
'I guess my destiny in life was always to be a villain.' Toga ruminated sadly as she swallowed the growing lump in her throat. 'It was the universe's last great joke before it became mine.'
A painful throb shot through Toga's heart as Izuku's angry glare appeared in her head once more, those sweet orbs of gorgeous emerald darkened and dirtied with hate, all of it directed toward her. She had seen it many times in her life, even from those who should have loved her unconditionally, that she had believed herself numb to it. But, in their time together, all those wonderful and sweet moments, Toga let herself believe, let Izuku in, showing him who she truly was.
Now those moments were gone, undone in an instant, leaving her back here, in the mud she had crawled out of so long ago. Everything was gone, marred and tainted by his words, dashed upon the rocks like a heartbroken widow ending it all. Memories she thought she would cherish forever, a light in the darkness, were turned to rancid filth and ash, swimming in the mire of her misery.
Clenching her fists tightly, the heavy weight of despair lifting from her heart, only to be replaced with righteous and furious anger, Toga knew just what she had to do. If that's how things are going to be, if the universe refused to let her be anything more than a villain, then she'll just have to crush this world beneath her heel.
As if sensing her new resolve, several Pro Heroes burst forth from nearby alleys and rooftops to attack the self-proclaimed ruler of the universe, the small name heroes rushing the seemingly unaware Toga from all angles. The godlike girl's proclamation had not gone unheeded by the hero community, every single one in the area immediately rushing to confront this new threat, unsure of just how they knew where to find her or even what she looked like, an image of the blonde schoolgirl with golden eyes burnt like a hot branding iron upon their brains.
With a resounding cry, the smaller known heroes leapt into action, their quirks fully activated to their strongest attacks as they neared the stationary schoolgirl, hoping to eliminate this supposed threat as quickly as possible, to protect the world from her declaration of doom. A cold shiver ran down their spines as they laid eyes upon the harmless-looking girl, deceptively dressed in a cream-colored cardigan, rolling waves of hate and ranger radiating off of her that seemed to flow off of Toga's body like slimy, dark purple tendrils.
Before they could even get within breathing distance of their target, a whole swath of Pro Heroes suddenly collapsed to the ground with horrific screams of agony before falling silent just as quickly, a large swath of heroes lying unconscious at her feet, their faces contorted into visions of pure horror.
But Toga simply stood there, completely oblivious of the pile of bodies surrounding her stationary form, their existence not even a blip on her radar, the godlike girl still mired in the rotting recesses of her mind.
She couldn't care less about these worthless insects, fruitlessly rushing at her, like fluttering moths to an open flame, so steeped within the raging war in her head to worry about their pitiful attempts to stop her. Her head was thick with raging emotions that left the outside world a fuzzy and indistinct blur, the loss of Izuku, of her new life, causing her frayed emotions to tear apart at the seams, sadness and anger warring a bloody battle for dominance.
Toga wanted to hate him, to loathe his very existence as much as her parents and the world that had rejected her, to rip and tear every atom from his body one by one as he lies in screaming agony at her feet. She wanted him to suffer as much as she was, to truly understand what he had done to her, how badly it hurt. She had thought such pain was finally behind her, that nothing could harm her, her omnipotent powers leaving her safe from other people. As a god, nothing could touch her.
But Izuku did. That wonderful, horrible, green-eyed wonder had pushed through her defenses, nestled comfortably in her heart, and torn it apart piece by piece. And she had let him. She didn't fight it, not even for a second, so ecstatic and blinded by love and joy to see how vulnerable she had left herself. And he had taken advantage of it, using her love for him against her and turned on her like everyone else, throwing her back down toward the gaping maw of darkness and despair she had finally pulled herself out of.
And yet, through the haze of anger and betrayal, through the blinding pain, Toga couldn't hate him. Every time she thought of just erasing his existence, of putting him through the worst torture imaginable, she would remember his adorable smile and her anger just crumbled to dust. She could never hate him, no matter what he did to her. And it frustrated her to no end.
If she couldn't take out her anger and despair on Izuku, then the world would have to suffer in his stead.
Snapping her gaze upward, gold eyes flashing with contempt, Toga leveled a murderous glare toward the umpteenth group of heroes stupid enough to attack her, even with the growing evidence of their futility literally covering the ground around her, each one of the seasoned pro-heroes falling to their knees with a horrific scream as the godlike girl effortlessly invaded their minds. Visions of horror and despair flooded their brains, blood seeping from their eyes as they stared blankly at the sky above, puddles of urine pooling beneath them as they passed out from fear.
"Do you think I'm lying?!" Toga hollered with incensed rage in her voice, the whole world rocking from her declaration, the godlike girl angered by their insolence. How dare they try and attack her, their goddess, especially with ones as weak as them! They will come to take her words seriously very soon.
Turning her head sharply toward a seemingly empty street corner where a group of reporters were secretly filming the Pro-heroes fruitless attempts of stopping this never before seen menace, a cold chill running down their spines as her cat-like gaze fell upon them, their stomachs suddenly bottomed out as they were teleported to stand before the blonde villain. Recoiling in horror, head whipping about in fear, terrified and confused at what just happened, the camera crew were quickly pulled out of their bewilderment as Toga spoke once again, her words ringing simultaneously in their ears as well as their heads.
"If you don't believe my claims, if hearing my voice alone is not enough to prove my dominion over you all, then I'll just have to show you." Stalking closer to the cameraman, the screen shaking as the terrifying schoolgirl approached the scared news crew, Toga menacingly stared into the camera, as if she was staring at every living being in the universe at once. "You should all bear witness to what is happening in New York and Paris…right…now…"
As if right on cue, every screen in the world, from TVs to cell phones, switched over to a simultaneous live view of the New York and Paris skyline as cries of fear and horror echoed through the streets of the major metropolises. The bustling and glowing streets of New York were bathed in a sea of red as blood rained down upon the horrified populace from above. Horrified screams and resounding crashed mixed into a cacophony of terror, the entire city awash in rivers of red, rivulets of thick liquid smearing the people's faces as they watched their world drown in blood.
While New York got lost in a sea of red, Paris was engulfed in roaring flames, fire sprouting from beneath the ground, turning the once picturesque landscape into a canvas of panicked terror. Famous landmarks and historic sites were quickly turned to ash and rubble beneath the scorching heat of the flames, gasps of fright rolling throughout the world as a news crew caught the horrific scenes from above, the fire stretching across the city in perfectly shaped lines, almost as if they were words.
And they spelled out the name Toga Himiko.
"What did you all see!?" Grabbing the camera lens, the terrified cry of the cameraman echoing from off-screen, all eyes glued upon Toga's dark features, a nasty smirk curling on the corner of her mouth as her razor-sharp fangs glinted dangerously from behind her lips. "Was it a rain of blood and your god's name spelled out in flames?!"
Pushing the camera away, the news crew stumbling away in horror at what they witnessed, at what Toga had done with mere words, the godlike girl calmly turned her head to the side, her intent gaze focused on a single point in the distance. They have finally arrived.
Like a scene out of a blockbuster comic book movie, a large gathering of Pro Heroes, perfectly aligned and standing proudly in their colorful attires, approached the solitary blonde, the entire cavalcade of Pro Heroes, the biggest names, finally deciding to deal with this new threat themselves. The Ranks from 1 to 10, from Endeavour all to way to her former homeroom teacher Eraserhead, were all here, prepared to save the world from this new, unprecedented menace.
Cheers and cries of joy erupted throughout the world as they witnessed the finest heroes the world had to offer pour out from every street and every rooftop to confront the would-be ruler of the world, the camera turning to capture their arrival in wonder as they surrounded Toga from all sides. The whole world was truly united behind their heroes against this evil.
Just as Toga had hoped.
Toga simply stared straight ahead, her golden eyes, once alight with mischief and joy, were clouded with hate and anger, all happiness faded from their depths leaving only a hollow emptiness in its place. Murmurs and shivers of unease rolled through the ranks of the elite heroes, terrified and unnerved by the darkness in her gaze, an invisible force radiating off of her body in rolling waves of ill intent.
Stepping forward, his usually tired gaze sharp and alert, Aizawa stared down his student with quiet resolve, his eyes flashing red as he activated his quirk. He had to deal with her himself. Toga was his student and it was because of his failure, be it too late to see the warning signs or his inability to steer her down the correct path, that Aizawa knew he had to make it right. And that was by stopping her at all cost.
Staring into his glowing red eyes, seeing the disappointment and shame in his tired, old gaze, Toga simply held his stare with an impassive frown, the godlike girl slowly lifting her finger into the air to point dramatically at the sky. Seemingly compelled by her action, the entire assembled group of heroes lifted their heads, eyes growing wide with horror as thin strands began crisscrossing across the bright blue sky, radiating outwards across its entire expanse from a singular point. Right where Toga was pointing.
A grating sound, like glass being put under too much pressure, rolled through the air like a shrill shriek as the rivulets continued to stretch across the sky, breaking off into smaller and smaller trails until it covered the whole world. With a resounding crack emanating from its main focal point, the sky broke into a myriad of pieces, raining like glittering shards of glass toward the world below. As the pieces of the bright morning sky evaporated like snow, the once gorgeous sea of blue was replaced with a terrifying vision of swirling vortexes of red and purple, as if the earth had been transported to a hellish dimension, the air crackling with electricity from the roaring storm above.
"It doesn't work." Deactivating his quirk, his gruff voice quivering slightly as he stared at his student, an involuntary shiver ran down his spine as the ramifications of what just happened dawned on him. "That means this power is not a quirk but a part of her."
"It doesn't matter if it is or isn't!" Stepping forward, practically pushing the nighttime hero out of the way, Endeavour proudly, almost cockily, stared down the blonde schoolgirl. "You just have to overwhelm her with force!"
Pulling at every ounce of energy in his body, Endeavour released his most powerful attack, Prominence Burn, toward the stationary girl, the entire city street being engulfed by roaring flames as they slammed into Toga's body, completely enveloping her in fire. The roaring wall of fire traveled down several blocks, melting buildings, cars, and even the pavement with its overwhelming heat, several heroes watching on in mute astonishment at the incredible display of power by the new No.1 hero.
Feeling his body start to overheat, the Hellflame hero reaching his quirk's limits, Endeavour slowly lessened his fires output, leaving only melted structures and smoldering flames behind, a cocky grin curling on the No.1 heroes lips. While certainly powerful, her frightening display earlier something he had never witness before, there was no way that blonde psycho girl could have withstood his strongest attack. Even the most resilient, quirk-modified body would be hard-pressed to not wither beneath its immense power.
"Ugh." Endeavor's entire mind went blank, his blue eyes widening in disbelief as he watched the blonde schoolgirl, completely unharmed, not even a lingering flick of flame on her body, shake out her feet with a disgusted look on her face. "I got pavement in my shoe."
The entire assembled congregation of heroes gasped and gaped in disbelief, a growing sense of dread passing through the crowd as they watched the self-proclaimed goddess shake molten pavement out of her shoe. It was as if Endeavour, the currently undisputed No. 1 hero, had not left a single mark or burn upon her skin.
Flicking off the last globule of molten goo off of her foot, eyebrows furrowed in mild irritation, Toga's cold gaze shot toward the Hellflame hero, his whole body going stiff as he felt an invisible force envelop him. No matter how much he struggled, how much he tried to force his body to obey, he could not even manage the barest of twitch of his muscles. His whole body was placed under her control by a simple look.
Bending her finger in a come hither motion, Endeavor felt his stomach bottom out as his body was forcefully pulled toward the godlike villain, his feet dragging roughly against the cooling pavement. Standing before the blonde goddess, his immense form dwarfing hers, the towering Hellflame hero nevertheless felt insignificant and small in her presence, her aura washing over him in waves of untold power and incomprehensible malice.
"You are pathetic." Placing her hand on his shoulder, the blonde girl having to stand on her tiptoes to reach, Toga slowly pushed the towering hero down to her level, Endeavour's body following her commands without a fight as he began kneeling before his new god. "All that strength and you were powerless to stop me."
Grinning maliciously, sharp fangs prominently on display as her gold eyes flashed dangerously, Toga slowly ran her hand along the flames adorning Endeavour's body. One by one, each flame was snuffed out by her gentle touch, leaving the once proud and majestic hero a pathetic and hollow shell. He had been reduced to a simple man, just like everyone else.
"As the new No. 1 hero, you will be known as the greatest failure the hero world has ever seen." Toga jeered softly, her face blank as she slowly pushed him lower, his body sinking into the ground as if it were made of quicksand. "Now…show me some reverence."
"That's enough!" A voice cried from seemingly nowhere, a small prick pressing into Toga's neck as something almost threadlike forced its way through her skin, the godlike girl blinking slowly in surprise. Edgeshot's floating upper body, his bottom half unraveled into razor-sharp string, appeared from out of thin air, his thread traveling through her body to disconnect her blood flow and to hopefully knock her unconscious. "This ends now!"
Cracking her neck lazily, unaffected by the Foldabody hero's probing, Toga scratched the site of invasion as if it were an annoying itch, the godlike girl pulling the razor-sharp thread out slowly and deliberately, trying to show him just how foolish and pointless his attempt was. Pulling the end out with a satisfying pop, nary a blemish left on her pale skin, Toga slowly angled her gaze toward the Ninja wannabe, the fearful look in his eyes coupled with the rising panic amidst the surrounding hero populace barely registering in her mind. She just wanted others to suffer.
"You know, I have you to thank for this power." Toga spoke calmly, almost serene, as she stared at the wriggling piece of string caught between her fingers, Edgeshot desperately trying to free himself from her iron grip. She thought back to that day, in a timeline long gone, erased by her hand, a simple footnote in the burgeoning history of her ascension to where she belonged. How simple everything had seemed. So much promise, so many new and wonderful opportunities laid out in front of her on a silver platter, all granted to her by a single moment of agony.
"But," Toga's gaze turned vicious as she glared at the Foldabody hero, the godlike girl slowly, agonizingly, began pulling at the string, grunts and cries of agony erupting from Edgeshot's throat as he felt his flesh get torn off thread by thread by the godlike blonde, "dying hurt."
Toga's cryptic words fell on deaf ears as Edgeshot continued to cry out in pain, his vision beginning to swim as he felt more of his body get viciously unraveled, blood, muscle, and sinew traveling along a thin, grotesque line away from his body by the gentle tug from the godlike girl's fingers. Preoccupied with her little torture session, enamored by the delectable line of blood and gore passing through her fingers, Toga failed to notice a familiar ex-companion of hers rush her from behind, his cold, bony fingers curling around her neck in a vice-like grip.
Eyes twisted in a manic glare, Tomura sneered hatefully at the back of the golden-haired girl's head as he tightened his grip upon her neck, hoping to snap it half before she had a chance to be disintegrated by his Decay quirk. He wanted revenge, to pay her back for all the agony she had put him through, how she had humiliated and toyed with them in this timeline and the last. He wanted her to die!
Dropping the thread of blood and viscera with a soft splat, the string-like material recoiling back into Edgeshot's body, the trauma of the event having left him unconscious, Toga calmly turned her head to stare at the leader of the League of Villains with a dull, unimpressed glare. Tomura could only gawk at her in mortified disbelief, the Villain leader placing his free hand upon her neck and tightening his grip, trying to end her life as quickly as possible, panic rising in his chest as his quirk failed to activate.
Toga merely stared at him in silence, his frantic grip loosening slowly as his fingers failed to wrap around her neck, the Decay villain looking on in mute horror as the psychotic blonde began increasing in size. Tomura, unable to even reach her neck anymore, stared up at the monolithic and still growing schoolgirl in terror, his legs refusing to move as he watched her ascend higher into the sky. He was stuck dead in his track, his legs quivering in fear as he became less than a filthy rodent to the looming titaness, Toga cold gaze never wavering as she stared down at her former boss.
Falling to his knees, Tomura could feel his consciousness wane as her sheer size overwhelmed him, his vision growing dark as Toga lifted her immense foot into the air before slowly bringing it down upon his prone form, the last sight he saw before passing out being the sole of her shoe filling his entire vision. The impact of her foot squashing Tomura rumbled through the ground like a minor earthquake, the surrounding hero's gasping in shock as Toga crushed the Villain leader beneath her foot, his mangled and broken remains lying in a small, shoe-print shaped crater, his chest heaving erratically with struggling breaths.
"Lacquered Chain Prison." Perking up slightly at the sudden cry, Toga looked down at her body with a curious stare as long, winding branches began snaking across her torso, binding her arms to her side as her legs were held in place. Quirking an eyebrow at the intricate system of branches enveloping her gigantic body, Toga lifted her head as hurried footsteps quickly approaching her bound form, sounding awfully normal for her enlarged size.
Leaping over a crowd of heroes, platinum blonde hair shining brilliantly despite the horrific sky above, Mt. Lady rushed the gigantic, tied-up villain, her arm reared back to deliver a devastating punch upon the overblown brat's face. Throwing her entire back into the strike, Mt. Lady let out a great roar of effort before landing a powerful punch that reverberated through the neighborhood upon the gigantic schoolgirl's shin. Shin?
Gulping nervously, a cold sweat breaking out upon her brow, Mt. Lady slowly lifted her gaze up and up and up, a soft gasp of shock and despair passing the giant woman's lips as she stared at the unfathomably large schoolgirl towering over her, the sudden increase in size having torn Kamui Woods's branches like paper. Even at her already immense size, Toga made her feel like the many regular-sized people at her own feet, making them mere gnats to her grandeur. The closest skyscraper barely reached the godlike girl's knees as she slowly lowered herself into a squatting position, the sudden rush of movement from her colossal body descending causing the air to displace and creating a huge gust of wind that knocked several heroes off their feet, Toga sent the platinum blonde giant a withering glare.
"There's no stopping her." The Police chief muttered with dismay as he watched this girl, this psychotic schoolgirl who fancies herself a god, casually flick Mt. Lady away as if she were nothing, her gigantic body crashing with a resounding quake several blocks away. Turning to one of his subordinates, the woman watching the carnage with a wide, horrified stare, the Police chief barked out a series of orders.
"Call in Emergency Protocol Sigma! Do it!"
"Bring All Might to me!" Shrinking back down to her original size, the intimidating air surrounding the godlike girl not dissipating in the slightest, many in the crowd falling to their knees, blood running from their ears from her resounding demand. Many others simply fainted on the spot, unable to bear any more of the godlike girl's overwhelming presence, fear being the mutual emotion shared amongst the congregated heroes. Several heroes as well as cops, spurned on by Toga's demand, quickly ran off to find their former savior, while others, ones with a closer relationship to the old Symbol of Hope sent him various messages and distressed phone calls.
No one wanted to disobey their new god.
An unbearable silence fell over the city, not a word uttered amongst the amassed heroes as they anxiously awaited All Might's arrival, ones with healing or recovery quirks checking on their injured compatriots. Cementoss carefully extracted Endeavour from his submerged position in the pavement while Kamui Woods worriedly checked on his injured girlfriend, Mt. Lady grumbling and grousing about overblown, omnipotent brats to try and silence the growing dread in the back of her head.
Toga merely stalked back and forth with agitated impatience, dark ruminations and deranged ramblings falling from her lips as her frenzied stare flickered over the crowd. Each one of them, every single one, was going to be bowing to bow to her soon enough. They just didn't know it yet. Everyone will be overjoyed to have someone as sweet and wonderful as her as their unquestioned god and ruler. They were going to love her.
Just as Izuku had.
Scratching the side of her head angrily, Toga bristling with rage as Izuku's face invaded her thoughts once again, the godlike blonde swung her arm out in a wild arc, entire swaths of the Japanese countryside being obliterated in the blink of an eye as a shock wave of untold power reduced it to nothing. Staring at the long stretch of destruction left behind by her violent outburst, nothing but vast emptiness left in its wake, a terrible feeling began gnawing in her stomach, her frenzied stare growing distant and remorseful.
Taking a deep, calming breath, Toga quickly returned everything to normal, all the destruction and annihilation being restored in an instant, leaving no trace of her earlier tantrum except for strange, abstract twists to all of the buildings. Turning to face the crowd of heroes, seeing the horror and fear in their eyes, Toga shot them a vicious sneer before resuming her restless pacing, her fingers digging painfully into her palm.
She shouldn't care. There was no reason to care! They were nothing. The world was nothing! She restored everything and even made the city better. They should be thanking her! She needed to get her anger out didn't they see?! If Izuku had done this, if he hadn't hurt her, this wouldn't be happening! They were just some worthless lives and some insignificant land! Why were they so scared?! She shouldn't care what they think, she is their god!
Then…why? Why did it feel so horrible? Why did it feel so wrong?
Before Toga had a chance to spiral further down into the muddled depths of her mind, the sea of heroes suddenly parted to reveal the former Number 1 hero, his emaciated form standing tall and proud, even before the overwhelming force of his psychotic student. The pair simply stood there, staring at each other in silence, the brilliant light of All Might's electric blue eyes glowing behind the dark shadows covering his face. The crowd looked upon their savior with silent reverence, his heroic presence not diminished in the slightest, even in his weakened form.
But in truth, before such an insurmountable foe, All Might was filled with nothing but fear.
Taking a step forward, prepared to deal with whatever his former student had planned head-on, a series of armored police vehicles came rushing through the crowd, a large contingent of police officers leaping out of the vehicles as they wrenched the back doors open. Stepping out of the armored vehicles, bound in quirk nullifying chains, were the intimidating forms of Hero Killer Stain and All For One.
Protocol Sigma, the police's last-ditch effort in the events of an unstoppable foe, was to free the most dangerous villains to tilt their chances of winning, slight as it may be, in their favor. It was a reckless plan, practically suicidal should they win and take back their freedom, but it was favorable to the alternative of living beneath this psychotic girl's rule.
Toga remained impassive as she watched the police officers nervously remove the villain's restraints, her golden gaze slowly moving between the assembled trio, her eyes falling upon the deformed features of the man that had inspired her in another lifetime.
Stain, the hero killer, the man who had inadvertently led her to this place with his strong convictions and inspiring words. There was a time when meeting him would have been the most amazing and wonderful thing she could have ever hoped to achieve, the man almost single-handedly giving her the motivation to go out and seek something better, a life she could make her own. But now, with his iconic mask and red scarf, he was nothing but another man to her. Him, All For One, and All Might shared one common factor, one thread that intertwined all their fates. A thread she had to cut before she ascended to true godhood, to finally move ahead and free herself from what was shackling her down.
Izuku.
Lifting her hand, sweeping it over the emaciated form of All Might and the scarred and deformed body of All For One, Toga undid the shackles of time and destiny, reverting both of them to their respective primes. All Might, feeling a familiar flame roar within his heart, one he had pulled at for many years, had One For All restored to its former glory, his body bulking up to resemble the lost Symbol of Hope while All For One lost all scarring and damage he had received in their fateful encounter ages ago.
"I wanted to face you all." Toga declared with a hint of dark undertones in her voice, the opposing trio standing at the ready, their bodies primed to fight as the godlike girl mockingly swept her hands toward them in a sweeping gesture. "The Symbol of Hope. The Pillar of the Villains. And the Hero Killer."
"I will make everyone, heroes, villains, and all of humanity bow to me!" Toga cried with frightening conviction, her words traveling to every corner of the globe, making her intentions known to every living being in the world. They were hers.
Spurned on by her words, be it for selfish gain, for survival, or for the safety of all mankind, the unlikely trio readied themselves, pulling at every last ounce of courage within themselves before rushing in, prepared to fight Toga with everything they had. They had to.
Because the world may not survive if they didn't.
A/N: Three against one for the fate of humanity.
Well, all I can really do is address the very big elephant in the room. The last chapter of this story had an… unfavorable…reception to say the least. And that is partially why it took so long for this chapter to come out.
While I try not to let things get to me, that I try to always see the fun in writing my stories and doing it for my sake as well as others, I have to admit that it did affect me. I was not in the best place already after over a year of uncertainty and dealing with rough times at work, so the negative reaction hit me pretty hard.
That is not to say that I think any of your feelings and opinions are any less valid or that they are unfounded in any way, it's just how I felt. My attempt was to have it come as a surprise, that it was unexpected, but that doesn't mean people have to like it or even think it was well done. There will be more clarification of Izuku's mindset and why he reacted the way he did in a later chapter, but I can't guarantee it will be a satisfactory answer for everyone, just that there will be an explanation.
I won't abandon the story. I will continue writing it until it is done, that IS a guarantee. If the last chapter has soured you on this story and what is to come, I apologize and I understand if you end up dropping or have dropped it. I just hope to do my best until the end. It's all I can really do.
Next chapter: One last stand
Thank you to everyone who has read so far. I will continue to do my best. I love you all.
